Moral duty of all to protect this + 3 more

Baba
Moral duty of all to protect this

Namaskar,

As Ananda Margiis, we have a great and dharmic duty in life to serve Gurudeva Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji by preserving and safeguarding His original words. The teachings of the first and second Mahasambhutis have unfortunately been long lost. In the name of those holy preachings, only dogma remains. We should not allow the divine words of the third Mahasambhuti to go to waste in that same manner. In order to protect Baba's words, the AM Pure books have been made.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

How various groups taint AM books - 1

Here’s how Baba’s Hindi discourses were ruined. When Baba gave discourses in Hindi - such as in Patna, Mokama, Gaya, Medini Nagar, Ara, Hazaribagh, Chaibasa, Ranchi, Tatanagar, Varanasi, Ghazipur, Allahabad, Kanpur, Lucknow, Etah, Agra, Meerut, Delhi, Hisar, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Kathua, Nahan, Thanedhar, Kullu, Jammu, Srinagar, Jaipur, Udaipur, Kota, Gwalior, Raipur, Bhopal, Sambalpur, Ahmedabad, Bhavnagar, Gandhidham, Nagpur, Mumbai, Bettiah, Gaddopur, Deoghar, Gorakhpur, Muzaffarpur, Hajipur, Bhagalpur, Saharsa, Supaul, Darbhanga, Katihar, Purnia, Kishanganj, Jamalpur, Anand Nagar etc  - then those Hindi discourses were not published by transcribing the cassettes. Rather, to make a Hindi book from Baba's Hindi discourses, the following steps were taken:

a) Baba's Hindi discourses were translated into Bengali.
b) Then that Bengali translation was retranslated back into Hindi. The outcome was that this retranslated Hindi version no longer matched what Baba actually spoke. This type of distortion is called the "Bengalisation of Hindi discourses".
c) Then that Bengalised Hindi translation was published in the form of a Hindi book.
d) So the fact is that the Hindi books were not made directly from Baba's Hindi discourses.

e) To make matters worse, in the Hindi book of original Hindi discourses that were given by Baba in Hindi, a false statement was written on the publisher's page – “Translated from the original Bengali”. Yet the fact is that these are original Hindi discourses.
f) By this approach, most of the Hindi books of the organization have been ruined.
g) Whenever Baba gave discourses in the Hindi language, most of the Hindi books were not made directly by transcribing the cassettes. Instead, they went through the above described process of Bangalisation. This type of gross and blatant injustice has been done to Baba's Hindi and English discourses.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

How various groups taint AM books - 2

So they made the rule that if Baba has given the discourse in Hindi or English then that discourse cannot be directly printed in the Hindi or English book / edition. But if Baba has given the discourse in Bengali then those discourses will directly be printed “as-is” in the Bengali book.

As documented, Baba delivered the majority of His discourses in Hindi. And the ruination of those Hindi discourses had a negative, cascading effect. Because those tainted Hindi discourses were used as the basis to make the English version of those discourses. So that means all those English discourses / books were ruined as well.

Bear in mind that this process of Bangalisation was also done when Baba gave a discourse in English. So when Baba spoke in English most of the time that discourse was directly translated into Bengali, which was then branded as the master version. Then they retranslated that so-called master Bengali version back into English. And that retranslated English version is what was printed in the English books. So what Baba originally spoke in English is not what is printed in the English editions.

How various groups taint AM books - 3

From the very beginning, Baba gave the order that the sole purpose of making audio recordings of His discourses was to publish the AMPS books in their pure form. Unfortunately, most of the AMPS Hindi books are incorrect because they were not made by transcribing Baba's audio recordings. Even today, corrupt / distorted books are openly sold at large book stalls at DMS and seminars. Remember, only the Kolkata group produced corrupt / distorted books, and they still do. Then other groups reprint those corrupt books which Tiljala made.

Thereafter, the other groups made two fundamental, deceptive changes to those corrupt books: (1) They removed the phrase “Translated from the original Bengali”; and, (2) they reprinted those same corrupt books with the name of their own group on the publisher’s page.

Finally, they sold those tainted books to margiis claiming they made authentic books, all the while keeping those sadhakas in the dark that it is the same corrupt book which Tiljala Publications made. If you compare the books of H group and the books of B group you will not find any differences in the Ananda Vacanamrtam, Subhasita Samgraha, and Prout in a Nutshell series etc. They are essentially identical.

Attempt to cover up misdeed of making tainted books

Some think their own regional language to be supreme and have thus treated Sadguru Baba's discourses that were delivered in other languages in a step-motherly manner. To cover up their sins, such people openly spread false, fabricated stories in Baba's name, claiming:
(1) Baba favoured the Bengali language in comparison to other languages;
(2) Baba's orders are that Hindi discourses cannot be directly printed as Hindi books, but will first undergo Bengalization.

By spreading such falsehoods, they mislead margiis into believing that only Bengali discourses can be directly printed into Bengali books. Whereas, Baba's Hindi discourses cannot be directly printed in Hindi books. First, Baba's Hindi discourses have to be Bengaliized, i.e. the Hindi discourses will be translated into Bengali. Then that Bengali translation will be retranslated back into Hindi. Then that Hindi translation will be printed as a Hindi book. In essence, Baba’s original words spoken in Hindi cannot be directly published in Hindi books. This type of falsehood they are reciting over and over again. To mislead margiis, a WT, who is an outspoken critic of Pure books of AM, wrote an imaginary, false tale to this effect in his own book. Margiis should beware.

Why Pure books have been made

The AM Pure books stand as an important, archival piece as they are an exact transcription of Sadguru Baba discourses, perfectly transcribed in the very language in which He spoke. Thus, the AM Pure books are a veritable historical-cum-ideological record for future generations, as well as a way for present-day bhaktas to delve deeper into Guru’s teachings.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

The books printed by the various groups were not properly made; most of them have been distorted. If you have any Hindi or English audio discourses you can confirm this fact for yourself. Indeed, injustices have been done to the original Hindi and English discourses. This is a serious issue with devastating consequences, and it was the impetus for the printing of the Pure books. These Pure books are entirely different as they are an exact transcription of what Baba actually spoke. That is why the Pure books have been made.

How AM teachings saved during Emergency

One of the most effective ways to preserve any book or scripture is to disseminate it widely amongst those who will truly treasure and value it. In terms of Ananda Marga scripture, the best tactic then is to spread those books to Ananda Margiis the world over. That is how that scripture will endure over time. Verily, within our very own AMPS organisation, there is great precedent for this. During Emergency, when the nefarious Indira Gandhi regime unleashed its venom in an attempt to wipe out our Ananda Marga, the ideological and devotional jewels of Ananda Marga were safeguarded by brave bhaktas scattered across Delhi sector and beyond. Those dedicated and courageous sadhakas cherished and held onto those cassettes, books, pamphlets, and publications with their very lives. And by this way, Guru’s treasures were saved and preserved. They remained intact.

Pure books means made directly from Baba audio

Today, that same opportunity knocks on our door. Here again we may stand up and meet the challenge to preserve Guru’s teachings in the form of AM Pure Books. These books are wholly unique. They are not translations but actual transcriptions of Sadguru Baba’s original discourses. Thus each publication may contain Hindi, English, Bengali, and numerous other languages like Maithili, Magahi, Bhojpuri, Chhattisgarhi etc -- whatever Baba spoke on that occasion. They are a perfect record of what Baba actually said.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Naturally, some may tend towards acquiring those books which they themselves can read. Bangla-speakers might collect books with more Bangla discourses. Hindi-speakers will buy the books with more Hindi discourses. And those more familiar with English will aim to collect those books with more English discourses. However, such a limited approach loses sight of the greater mission.

We should not allow Baba's teachings to vanish forever

Here we should not aim to merely collect these volumes for ourselves, but verily for the preservation of Sadguru Baba’s entire body of teachings. That means regardless of our own language background or linguistic limitations, we should carry the flag and take on the responsibility to safeguard all of the original transcriptions of Baba’s holy discourses, regardless of the language. So whether we are only able to read Hindi, or Bengali, or English, or Magahi, or Angika, or Bhojpurii etc, we should see the bigger picture and safeguard them all in our own private collections. By that way, the complete set of Sadguru Baba’s holy discourses will remain intact and can be handed down to the forthcoming generations of sadhakas. The history of this earth has borne witness to the distortion, destruction, and desecration of countless scriptures, including the divine teachings of Lord Shiva and Lord Krsna. So many invaluable tenets have been lost. We should not allow Lord Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji’s dharmic preachings and teachings to meet a similar fate.

Your old book collection is tainted

Some margiis may be thinking that, “What is the need to have another collection of books. I already have Baba's teachings in book form that was printed by the various Publications groups.” Here is the reply to those thinking in this way.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Sadly, up till now, most of the books published in Sadguru Baba’s name are not Baba’s original words, but the phrasing and terminology of the publishers. That means whatever is printed in the books is not what Baba actually spoke. Only AM Pure books are Baba’s original words. The moment you pick up and read one of the AM Pure books, you will immediately realize you have never read a text like this, i.e. one that is an exact transcription of Baba’s original discourse.

Why all should keep complete set of Pure books

So all sadhakas should embrace the opportunity and seize the moment to keep a complete set of AM Pure books. Indeed, if we do not purchase and preserve the accurate printed version of Baba’s original discourses then who will. Every ardent Ananda Margii should be keen to have a full set of AM Pure books. That means irrespective of one’s language background, every sadhaka should keep a copy of every AM Pure book. That is the best way to ensure the preservation of Sadguru Baba’s original words. And, in due course, accurate translations will be made so all have easy access to those teachings. In contrast, if the original transcriptions of Baba’s divine discourses are not properly disseminated or maintained, that will be a veritable sin and a black stain on us all.

Conclusion

The Pure books project not only operates on a “no-profit, no-loss” basis, but it is subsidized as well. So this is not some type of mundane sales pitch but a direct appeal to your inherent duty as a bhakta of Lord Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji to acquire and safeguard a copy of every AM Pure book - irrespective of language - to ensure the lasting presence and pointed impact of Baba’s eternal teachings on this earth and beyond. Thus the current printed volumes should be protected and preserved with our very lives. This debt we owe to Sadguru Baba and the future humanity.

Condition of mind after death

Ananda Marga ideology states, “The Christian and Muslim ideas of heaven and hell and also svarga in Hindu Karmakandii Jaemini Partná, were derived from the fact that the samskáras which determine the requitals of actions exist in this loka. In reality no kośa will remain after death. The samskáras remains as the object of the átman. Thus the ideas of heaven and hell of the Hindu, Christian and Muslim mythologies are completely false, because after death there remains no mind at all to experience heaven or hell." (1)

The mind is incapable of doing anything without the brain. And after death there is no brain, so the bodiless mind remains dormant. It cannot do or experience anything: no pain, no pleasure, nothing. The whole notion of one enjoying the fruits of heaven or the tortures of hell after death is bogus.

It is a complete myth that people go to heaven or hell. After death, the mind is dormant. And that is what is expressed in the above quote. Here we should understand that pain and pleasure are experienced in this world, not after death. So-called heaven and so-called hell are here in this world.

What to pursue in life

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "Numerous rich and beautiful cities of the historic past are now buried under the earth. Many splendid palaces and mansions, many churches, temples, mosques and synagogues, and many pyramids have been reduced to rubble. With the constant change in the flow of time, how many major changes have occurred in the universe? Similarly, with the change in time and space, people also change. A small two year old child becomes a smart and active twenty-five year old youth. And the same energetic youth becomes an infirm, inactive old person in due course. Thus, nothing in this universe is permanent. Many gigantic animals of the past have become totally extinct from the surface of the earth. Royal pomp and opulence, the pride of power, the vast knowledge of mighty scholars have become things of the past, thrown into the dustbin of history. Many objects emerged in the past, remained on earth for a short time, and then disappeared according to the inexorable law of nature."

"The only eternal truth is Parama Purus'a. He is Ana'di, beginningless, endless, all-pervasive; an entity beyond the scope of time, place and person. He is the only eternal, undecaying, imperishable, immutable entity. He is the Supreme Source from which the inanimate, plant and animal worlds have emerged. He is the starting point and the culminating point of everything. Hence, wise people should utilise their physical, psychic and spiritual power to realise that supreme omnitelepathic entity, to become one with Him." (1)

Note: Please read Baba's above teaching again carefully. It explains everything.

Essence of sadhana + 4 more

Baba
Essence of sadhana

Namaskar,

Sadhana is the cream of life. It is by sincerely practicing sadhana that we progress on the path. At the same time, there are many factors that might temporarily halt our progress in sadhana - procrastination, laziness, mundane attraction etc.

However there is one fundamental flaw that will make our sadhana become "stuck" - when we really cannot move ahead. And it is this pitfall that every sadhaka and seeker must be aware of - and avert - if they want success in their spiritual life.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Bhakti means service to Parama Purusa

Baba reminds us again and again that bhakti means service to Parama Purusa.

Bhaktir Bhagavato seva'
Bhakti is service to the Supreme

To serve anyone, to serve Parama Purusa, His presence is needed. One must feel that Baba is nearby, closeby so that we may serve Him. Without His presence there can be no service; and if there is no service there is no bhakti. So this inherent feeling of closeness with Parama Purusa is the key ingredient of bhakti. And with the feeling of bhakti then one can easily move forward on the path of sadhana. Hence, it all starts with the presence of Parama Purusa, thinking that Baba is close by. This is an essential element of sadhana.

The major pitfall

The main pitfall then or reason for getting stuck in sadhana is falling into the dogma that Parama Purusa is not really there. Unfortunately, some feel this way - and in that condition their sadhana becomes completely stuck.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

People innocently fall into the belief that sadhana is “just my imagination.” They repeat their mantra, do their chanting, do so many things - all with the feeling that they are alone and that Parama Purusa cannot really hear them. This defective approach has invaded the mental plate of many a sadhaka. And it is a most dangerous phenomena. How does it happen?

People think, "I imagine so many conversations - with my spouse, my boss, my grandmother, or my friend. And those persons do not actually hear me. They do not know I was talking with them. It was all just my imagination. Same then is the case with sadhana and Parama Purusa. I am repeating my mantra but He cannot hear me. It is all just my imagination."

This is one unfortunate misunderstanding that may enter the mind. And this will bring one's sadhana to a complete halt. Because without Parama Purusa there is no sadhana. If we fall into the trap that Parama Purusa is not close by but rather very far away then  He will remain beyond our grasp.

Ananda Marga ideology says, "If you think that He is very far from you, He will remain forever beyond your reach." (1)

In that case sadhana will just be one fantasy - just a far off dream. There will not be any progress - nor any spiritual vibration or feeling of closeness in sadhana.

Spiritual balm: “He is watching me”

To avert this spiritual calamity, one must feel like they are communicating with Baba in sadhana. And to do this, one must cultivate the idea that He is close by. And really it is not very difficult to do. The whole essence of our second lesson - or Guru mantra - is that Parama Purusa is watching me. That is the beginning, middle, and end of second lesson. If one feels this way then that is everything in second lesson. Hence, all the 24hrs we should cultivate the feeling that Parama Purusa is watching me.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

And that is the reality also. It is not just one's imagination. Because Parama Purusa has deep, deep love and affection for everyone. In that case He cannot keep Himself away. Rather His tendency will be to come close and watch for your welfare. And when as sadhakas we embrace this reality, then we will have His closeness and touch.

Ananda Marga ideology says, "If you think that He is near, He will be so near that you need not move even an inch to attain Him." (2)

So the feeling embedded within 2nd lesson is vital toward our spiritual growth in sadhana. And indeed when doing citta shuddhi, this very same feeling must be inculcated. Only when we feel we are completely surrounded by His presence should we then commence our mantra japa.

In a nutshell, when we feel that He is with us, then our sadhana can never become stuck.

Baba gives proof: “I am with you”

Even then some think that, "Okay, Parama Purusa is watching me, I can accept this idea, follow it, and tell others about it, but in my heart I do not think it is true."
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Some fall in this category. That is why for years and years, in countless reporting sessions and in dharma samiiksa and in PC, Baba would again and again give proof that He was there all along, watching us. He would smile and perfectly repeat what we were thinking when we were standing outside in the rain waiting for the bus, or He would talk about how we ate a sweet before doing sadhana, or He would describe who the passengers were on the train when we were traveling to DMC.

All these things and many more Baba would tell us. And the sole reason behind it was to teach and show us that in all circumstances He is always with us. That was His message: Never are we alone, always Parama Purusa is with you - watching - caring for your welfare.

Verily, this is the essence of spirituality: His presence. In Prabhat Samgiita the basic idea is that we are to sing to Him, and that He is always listening. All this reinforces the sweet notion that He is always with us.

Most important aspect of spiritual life

So whether doing sadhana or not, we should always feel that He is with us - watching us - looking out for our welfare. And this is one beautiful idea. It is not scary as if some enemy is secretly watching us through the window. Rather, it is one very charming and blissful concept that no matter where I may go in this universe, Baba will always be with me, gently holding my hand - guiding me, helping me - saving me. This idea is the most important aspect of our spiritual life and it is this notion that propels us ahead on the path.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Conclusion

In our Ananda Marga, the whole concept and practice of sadhana is based on the idea that we are very close with and in communication with Parama Purusa. That is the golden nugget of AM sadhana. In the various religions they feel that their god is far away in the seventh sky and that he is only available one day a week and even then to communicate with him one needs the help of a priest etc. That is their dogmatic outlook.

In the tantra of Ananda Marga, Baba has infused us with the idea that, “Parama Purusa is yours and that He is your very close companion.” It is this very real vibration that gives force to our mantra japa and propels us toward Oneness with Him. By remembering and practicing this ideal, we will never again get stuck in sadhana, by His grace.

In Him,
Ananda Bhusan

~ In-depth study ~

So we must always feel that He is with us. When doing second lesson we are to feel that “He is watching me” or that “everything around me is Parama Purusa in the form of the trees, birds, sky etc”. And when doing first lesson one is to feel like they are calling Him.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Mindlessly repeating those mantras without that ideation - without the feeling of His presence - will be futile. It is the feeling that we are communicating with Him directly - that He is there listening - that empowers our sadhana and gives shakti to our mantra japa. So we should always cultivate this as the first step in our spiritual life: That He is present. Never should we allow ourselves to fall prey to the myth that sadhana is just our imagination. Doing so is the kiss of death. Then our sadhana will really be stuck. Even if we sit for hours and hours we will not advance.

When we think - "Baba is with me" - then all the lessons of sadhana come alive and we float in the bliss of His sweet Presence. Then we communicate with Him, and we will directly receive His communication and love also. Sadhana will be a blissful interaction between bhakta and Parama Purusa.

Showy sadhana will not do

If we do sadhana just to show off in front of others or if we do sadhana just so that we can go and eat food, then this is not good. In that sadhana there is no Parama Purusa, there is only self and the mundane desire for name and fame or food. If one falls in this category then they are stuck. Their sadhana will not go anywhere. Only when one thinks that my sadhana is for Parama Purusa will they then be able to advance. Baba is ever-gracious so whatever right or wrong habits we may have had in the past, He is always there to help us proceed on the path. Let us all move forward embracing this idea.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Ananda Marga ideology says, "He who is guiding the stars of the skies, is with you, you are not alone. Under no circumstances should you ever be afraid. Never think that you are alone. Whatever has to happen, will happen, and the One who causes this happening is with you. He is not something which resides far far away. You are not a distant relative of His. He is your Father. So you only have to know the One. Who is He? He is your nearest and dearest One. He is your most beloved." (3)

Pure & straight

"Toma'r na'mer tarii beye bhese calechi sudu're..." (Prabhat Samgiita #3937)

Purport:

My Supreme Entity, by Your grace I am rowing the boat of Your name, singing Your glory, and floating toward the far distant spiritual land. Baba, because I am dancing in Your divine tune, I know I will never lose my path; victory is assured. With Your eternal song as my rudder guiding me along, I never feel lost or frustrated.

Parama Purusa, in my personality there is no hypocrisy. And there is no painful, hellish thorns of self-aggrandisement, (asmita'). It is Your immense kindness. My heart is pure and straight. In my life’s zig-zag path, the high and low tide comes and goes, but in my soul everything resonates in the eternal vibration of Your omnkara, the sound of the ankle bell. Your sublime presence encompasses all.

Parama Purusa, I am moving forward towards You with my heart and mind and do not have any desire to look back. Baba, with Your krpa’, I never wander around or fall from the path of dharma sadhana. Nor do I unnecessarily waste my time recalling all those old forgotten memories of my distant past. Continuously, You keep me marching along the path of supreme fulfillment.

Baba, I am under Your shelter, and in my meditation and dhyana I always sing Your name. It is Your causeless grace on me…

Comparing capitalism & communism

Prout philosophy: “Question – Which is more psychological, capitalism or communism?”

“Answer – As compared to communism, capitalism is more psychological, although both are defective and cannot be supported. In communism there is hardly any scope for the free and unbarred expression of mind, and due to extreme regimentation the flow of the mind is checked by numerous social, economic and political constraints. In capitalism no such checks exist in theory, but in practice there are checks.”

“Question – What are the psychological defects of the commune system?”

“Answer – In the commune system, society is reduced to a production-distribution centre under a regimented system of control based upon production teams. Such a suffocative and mechanized living system fosters a materialistic outlook and produces atheistic leadership. The workers cannot feel oneness with the job, nor do they have the freedom to express their individual potentialities. If farmers feel they own the farm they will get a better outturn. If people are allowed unbarred psychic and spiritual freedom, human society will achieve greater psychic and spiritual progress.” (1)

Sadhana & marital relations

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “The attraction towards earthly things born out of lust (káma) and attachment (moha) makes conjugal relations a necessity. Intuitional practice helps one to overcome this need. One becomes indifferent to it. So the question of giving it up for intuitional practice does not arise. It was said earlier that sádhaná is waging war against Prakrti and defeating Her. The force of intuitional practice is certainly greater than the strength of Prakrti, and by means of it one can attain Brahmacarya.” (1)
