All 4 qualities needed + 4 more

Baba

All 4 qualities needed
Namaskar,

Just around the time when Baba created VSS, He delivered one special discourse to guide everyone to develop all four qualities of their human personality. There He teaches us that to best serve humanity one should be able to evaluate the needs of suffering humanity and then provide the appropriate service. For instance, teaching philosophy (viprocita seva) to a starving person is completely inappropriate; rather, that person should be fed (shudrocita seva). Baba guides us to develop all four aspects of our human personality so we can best serve humanity.

Baba guides us that every Ananda Margii must develop 4 qualities of their human personality to become an ideal human being. Those 4 qualities of mind are: shúdra, kśatriya, vipra, and vaeshya. By cultivating each of these qualities of mind, one becomes a sadvipra - otherwise not. If one is missing or deficient in any of these aspects they are not a sadvipra. If one is cowardly then they are not a sadvipra. Here it should be emphasized that shúdra, kśatriya, vipra, and vaeshya do not refer to a particular caste.

How 98-year-old woman can be kśatriya

At the same time, in that discourse Baba places special emphasis on the importance of becoming a true kśatriya, in addition to the other qualities. The special attribute of a kśatriya - of being courageous and strong mentally - is that hard outer, protective shell. In individual life, that outer sheath or kśatriyan quality protects the soft, inner, sentient quality of bhakti. In the past, bhaktas did not develop themselves as kśatriyas, and in result they were exploited and forced to suffer untold humiliation and pain. Ultimately, their inner quality of bhakti was also smothered. So a hard protective shell is needed to stand guard and preserve one's sentient feelings of bhakti. That is the importance of becoming a kśatriya on the individual level.

We have to remember that being a vipra, vaeshya, kśatriya, and shúdra means having that quality of mind. Even a 98-year-old woman who cannot walk is a kśatriya if she has the psychic tenacity and courage to fight against injustice and exploitation. While a brawny, 30-year-old weightlifter will not be a kśatriya if he lacks the requisite courage to stand up to injustices.

As Ananda Margiis, we must cultivate all four qualities, and that is what Baba is preaching in His below discourse. In particular, He is giving special importance to becoming a kśatriya and developing that hard outer shell as a protective layer of society. Baba warns us that if there is no cadre of kśatriyas like VSS etc in Ananda Marga, then all one's social service projects will be looted and destroyed by bad people. That is why VSS is needed; then one's endeavors of doing social service will be successful and stand the test of time, otherwise not.

Baba's discourse: tough outer shell needed

Here following is an English summary of that Hindi General Darshan (Patna) where Baba tells that the kśatriyan mentality is that needed outer sheath to protect and safeguard social service projects etc. That is why this discourse is uniquely linked with the formation of VSS.

(Original Hindi printed as Pure Discourse #97 from Ananda Vacanamrtam - Part 35 (Pure), chapter 15, "समाज की रक्षा और सेवा")

Earlier I told that every person should develop the characteristics of a vipra, vaeshaya, kśatriya, and shúdra. For example, in social service, the greatest is viprocita seva, i.e. dharma pracara, propagating moral principles and awakening a righteous intellect in human beings. (Summary of Baba’s Hindi discourse)

But for the security of honesty of the people it needs a hard outer shell. Suppose you built many schools, colleges, factories and dams, they too need to be safeguarded. I told that if there had not been a hard shell of the tortoise or wood apple, the crow would have eaten them. Therefore you should have the strength of a kśatriya in order to defend your honesty, wisdom, and sentient nature.

[ Audience..."Baba Baba Baba!" ]

You have to develop the power of a kśatriya to defend the society, and provide all sorts of protection including the honour of the mothers and sisters, defending the country from external attack. There should not be the slightest bit of procrastination or slackness in this regard. Those who cannot defend themselves cannot progress.

In ancient times, people used to say, "Yogiis and sages would live in a governed state where law and order is maintained and whose king is strong." That was the age of the dictatorship so the king was expected to be strong, but now we would say, "where the government is strong." Therefore citizens should help the government in order to maintain law and order, and defense. When under attack, we will have to help our soldiers defend the country. For that we require kśatriyan power, there should be no slackness. (English summary of Baba’s Hindi discourse)

Kśatriyan quality to safeguard other services

So, the viprocita seva is stable but who helps this service? The kśatriya. People have problems regarding food and clothing, and there are various problems in the society; we will have to form a strong socio-economic structure to solve these problems. The task of making a strong socio-economic structure is the vaeshyocita seva.  You will not explain philosophy to those who are starving - they need food, clothing, and medicine. Hence you will do vaeshyocita seva, providing these commodities to them. If a weak person is being tortured by a strong person, he will not require your food or philosophy but he will need you to defend him.

Intellectual service is best, but it requires the support of kśatriyocita and vaeshyocita seva. Suppose one does not possess intellect he will not be able to do intellectual service; likewise  one who has no power can’t defend others; similarly, without money one cannot perform economic  service; hence such people can do service to the society by their physical labour- this is shúdrocita seva. But it would have been better if each person possessed all the four types of characteristics together. Only that will do the important work to society. (English summary of Baba’s Hindi discourse)

Sadhakas should have all four qualities

The spiritual aspirants will become vipra, vaeshaya, kśatriya, and shúdra together. There should be no slackness anywhere in this field. You all should be vigilant, awakened, and prepared in all respects so that the whole human society is benefited by your services.

I told yesterday evening that all are the children of Paramatma and when they are His loving children, they may be wise or foolish, strong or weak, scholarly or dumb, they will be able to do something. Nobody is less, mean or insignificant. Be prepared, you will be able to do much more. When you will start your work with full determination you will see how much power is hidden inside you. (English summary of Baba’s Hindi discourse)

Below is the Hindi transcription of that Hindi General Darshana as printed in Ananda Vacanamrtam - Part 35 (Pure), chapter 15, "समाज की रक्षा और सेवा", Pure Discourse #97.

The above is the Hindi transcription of that Hindi General Darshana as printed in Ananda Vacanamrtam - Part 35 (Pure), chapter 15, "समाज की रक्षा और सेवा", Pure Discourse #97.

Conclusion

In His above teaching, Baba guides us about the importance of cultivating the courage and tenacity of a kśatriya. That internal toughness and strong outer sheath will enable us to protect the good works that we perform in the world. If one does the other three services - such as building a school, donating to a women’s shelter, or preaching the great ideology, those works will not last if one does not have the kśatriyan quality to safeguard those projects. Ultimately, Baba guides us that every Ananda Margii has to perform all four types of service. And in His discourse He emphasizes how having a kśatriyan mentality supports the other three types of service.

Proutist are shudra, ksatriya, vipra & vaeshya - all in one

There are four mental colours in human society: shudra (labourers), kśatriya (security personnel), vipra (intellectuals), vaeshyas (business people). These are four mindsets. In the general society, every country is governed by one of these four characteristics. That era is denoted by their mental colour. For instance, if intellectuals are ruling that is the vipran era. And if security people are in power that is the kśatriyan era etc. The worst part is that the ruling group always exploits the remaining three classes. If kśatriyas are ruling then they exploit the shudras, vipras, and vaeshyas. Nowadays the business class is ruling most of the countries. That is why the condition of the other three classes is terrible. The key idea is that true Ananda Margiis should have all four qualities. That is why they are classless. And they are called Proutists as well. Under Proutist rule, there will not be any exploitation because no person ever exploits themselves. There will be no partiality towards any particular class. That is what the below teaching guides us.

Prout philosophy states, “The establishment of a classless society is only possible for those who accept Parama Puruśa [Supreme Consciousness] as the goal of their lives, for those whose entire mental power is ceaselessly directed towards one supreme goal. In a society where there is no class struggle, the remaining classes will have to disappear and all people will have to unite under the banner of one common ideology. This can only be done by sadvipras.” (3)

It is the rule that every margii should do shudrocita seva, viprocita seva, kśatriyocita seva, and vaeshyocita seva daily, and become a sadvipra.

Deep within my heart

PS Intro: In the following song the bhakta is making a loving accusation to Parama Purusa. By Baba's grace such high feelings come when there is extreme intimacy and pure, one-pointed love-- bhakti for Ista. Then in that case the bhakta feels internally that he has the right to demand and place his accusation at Lord's feet. So the following song is the expression of deep love for Baba.

"Ekahno ki prabhu toma'y du're tha'ka' bha'lo dekha'y..." (Prabhat Samgiita #2332)

Purport:

Baba with deep longing in my heart I go on calling You. How can You feel good when You do not pay heed to my call. Do You think that this is appropriate. In beckoning You again and again my voice got hoarse until finally I completely lost my voice. But Your heart never melted.

O’ Parama Purusa Baba, on which dusty earth have You sent me-- thus pushing me far from You. Why have You forgotten me. Is this the definition of Your love. Should I believe that what You are doing is proper.

O’ Parama Purusa, Your liila is unfathomable; it is beyond my understanding. Why do You do like this. I do not have the proper language to express myself, but all these feelings which I am sharing with You come from deep within my heart.

O’ Parama Purusa, sometimes You make me cry & float in my tears; and sometimes You make me laugh when my heart is filled with Your longing. Baba, I do not know what to do. How long do I have to wait for Your heart to melt. Please come...

Cancerous ills of degraded pop icons

Ananda Marga philosophy teaches us, "Strict vigilance should be kept over the purity of their individual conduct. They should not become the cause of a disease which invades the whole social body like a cancer. If actors and actresses fail to acquire a basic level of personal purity or are reluctant to acquire it, it will be the duty of society and the state to compel them to lead good lives by creating circumstantial pressure. No matter how talented they may be, immoral actors and actresses will have to be deprived of their right to exhibit their artistic talents, and sent to reform schools." (1)

Here Baba is guiding us that those leading debauched lives must not be allowed to work in the art and entertainment industry - whether they be actors, actresses, singers or performers etc. This applies to all those artists leading promiscuous lives. Naturally, this also includes the gay and lesbian community that is well-known for engaging in the arts and leading sensually depraved lives. Such persons must be forced to lead a sentient life or be removed from the stage.

The real danger is that if they fail to reform themselves, then with their degrading habits and high-profile life they will adversely affect and harm others, especially impressionable youths. Sadly, we have seen a few cases like this in AMPS where artistically-inclined, gay / lesbian musicians and songwriters etc wreaked havoc on innocent margiis by using their star power and manipulating them into relationships etc. Many in numerous sectors have been badly abused by such depraved singers.

That is why Guru's definitive statement is that only those artists who are strict in Sixteen Points may perform. All others must be forced to rectify their conduct. Until then, they are not allowed to appear on the public stage etc.

In Him,
Rasamay

Spirit of punishing wrongdoer

Ananda Marga ideology says, "And what is discipline? The Sam'skrta term for 'discipline' is 'anusha'sanam'. And what is anusha'sanam?"

Hita'rthe sha'sanam ityarthe anusha'sanam

"When the code of discipline is imposed with the spirit of welfare, with the spirit of development, it is called `anusha'sanam' in Sam'skrta. There is no corresponding English word." (1)

Note: Commonly people think that discipline means "anusha'sanam" - regardless of the motive or intention. For instance, suppose someone did something wrong and was punished; yet the punishment given to that person was done with the malevolent motive of spite, anger, and hatred in order to harass that person, then still some people term that as "anusha'sanam." But that is wrong; that type of approach can never be termed as anusha'sanam.

Unfortunately, most of the time in the general society, punishment is meted out to make an example of the wrongdoer and show others that they too will be punished in this way etc. This is the harsh message they want to deliver to the common people. But that approach is wholly devoid of any type of welfare motive. Law enforcement agencies carry out their work in this way - most of the time. They do this in the name of discipline. But whatever they call it, this malevolent approach can never be anusha'sanam.

Ideal family life is radically different. In this instance, the desire is to love, teach, nurture, and care for the child. So if that child makes a mistake then the punishment given to the child will be for their welfare and progress. In that case, that discipline comes within the scope of anusha'sanam. The main idea is that if the code of discipline is not for the welfare and betterment of the individual, then that is not anusha'sanam.

In Him,
Satyendra

Makings of a sadvipra + 3 more

Baba
Makings of a sadvipra

Namaskar,

Ananda Marga is a man-making mission, i.e. the complete development of the human personality.

The four qualities needed to be sadvipra

Baba guides us that every Ananda Margii must develop 4 aspects of their human personality to become an ideal human being. Those 4 qualities of mind are: shúdra, kśatriya, vipra, and vaeshya. By cultivating each of these qualities of mind, one becomes a sadvipra - otherwise not. If one is missing or deficient in any of these aspects they are not a sadvipra. Here it should be emphasized that shúdra, kśatriya, vipra, and vaeshya does not refer to a particular caste, but rather mental colour of the person.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Ananda Marga philosophy says “Ananda Marga breaks all these classes, not by calling them bad, but by making all the members of Ananda Marga practise and develop the qualities of all these classes. For instance, the developed mind required by vipras is necessary for every member of Ananda Marga. Even if one is a shúdra or a vaeshya, or a member of any other class, every person, after joining the Ananda Marga, has to work to have a developed and strong mind. Every person has to work to build a strong and healthy body. Every person has to work for a living. This has been given so much importance in the Ananda Marga that it is laid down that the work of a sweeper – the lowest form of work – is far more respectable than depending upon others for one’s daily needs.”
“Not only has earning money and having a balanced and dependable economic life been given importance, but even the lowest of all these classes, in whom people usually do not see any good, has been given equal importance. Every member of the Ananda Marga has to serve others physically. This is the work of the shúdras, or the workers.” (1)

Ananda Marga philosophy says  “Followers of the Ananda Marga cannot develop themselves completely unless they can also perform this work efficiently. In short, all the requirements of the four classes have to be mastered by each individual in Ananda Marga.”  (2)

Ananda Marga philosophy says  “It is not only the mastery of these trades which is necessary, the regular practice of these trades is an essential duty of every member of Ananda Marga. Every individual thus becomes universally fit.” (3)

According to Sadguru Baba, if anyone is missing any of the four characteristics they are not an ideal Ananda Margii; then they are not a sadvipra. So every Ananda Margii should be aware of this fact and always strive to develop and perfect these four aspects of human qualities.

Ananda Marga ideology guides us, "The learned and the statesmen combined together and formed the class of vipras. Similarly, the strong and the brave formed what is called the kśatriyas. The vaeshyas and the shúdras were formed in a similar way. Ananda Marga breaks all these classes, not by calling them bad, but by making all the members of Ananda Marga practise and develop the qualities of all these classes." (4)

The qualities of all four classes must be present for one to be a true Ananda Margii, i.e. a sadvipra.

Sadvipra: How to cultivate the attributions of

#1: How to develop the quality of shudra

To cultivate the quality of a shudra one should attend to all their mundane duties in life. That means one should clean their own plate after they eat. If the jagrti is dirty, one should take up the job of sweeping the floor on some occasions etc. And if an elderly, weak, physically disabled, sick, or helpless person is unable to take care of their existence, then one should be ready and willing to render physical assistance. If one is unwilling to do this, or similar types of some small, ordinary, shudra jobs or duties on a daily basis, or if one feels that such works are beneath them, then they cannot be called a sadvipra. Because to be a sadvipra, one must be competent in all four qualities: shudra, kśatriya, vipra, vaeshya.

#2: How to develop the quality of ksatriya

To hone oneself as a kśatriya one should be courageous. A person should be ready to stand up to wrongdoers; a person should not shirk their duty in the face of enemy forces; and, one should be ready to engage in similar types of kśatriyan jobs and duties One should be ever-ready to remain firm on upholding Ananda Marga ideals. Those who are shy or timid in this regard lack the quality of a kśatriya. Those devoid of the requisite courage cannot be called a sadvipra. Because to be a sadvipra, one must be competent in all four qualities: shudra, kśatriya, vipra, vaeshya.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

#3: How to develop the quality of vipra

To cultivate the attributions of a vipra one should understand Guru’s teachings in a clear manner and be able to explain them to others, and / or serve others by their intellect. So one should do svadhyaya on a regular basis, participate in study sessions on Ananda Marga teachings, and know the basics of our Ananda Marga way of life. Those who lack this philosophical or intellectual quality cannot be called a sadvipra. Because to be a sadvipra, one must be competent in all four qualities: shudra, kśatriya, vipra, vaeshya.

#4: How to develop the quality of vaeshya

To develop oneself as a vaeshya one should be able to keep their financial affairs in order. They should keep a verifiable account of their purchases, and know how to steer clear of debt etc. Those who can manage the financial aspect of their lives have the requisite quality of a vaeshya. If anyone is perpetually wallowing in debt, spending beyond their means, or engaging in an irresponsible manner with regards to money, then they cannot be considered as a sadvipra. Because to be a sadvipra, one must be competent in all four qualities: shudra, kśatriya, vipra, vaeshya.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Why only sadvipras can lead the society

Only sadvipras can properly guide the society because only sadvipras imbibe the qualities of all four classes. They look upon people - from all the classes - with the same equanimity of mind and justice. Whereas our human history is riddled with examples where vipras form laws in the favour of vipras, kśatriyas form laws in the favour of kśatriyas, vaeshyas form laws in the favour of vaeshyas. In all such cases, the dominant class exploits the other classes. Verily in His discourse - Ananda Marga A Revolution - Baba points out how every class exploits the others when given the opportunity to lead or rule.

Only sadvipras can do for the welfare of all, without exploiting anyone. Because all four classes are present within each and every sadvipra.

Shúdra, kśatriya, vipra, & vaeshya services

Anadna Marga ideology guides us, “To serve the world by the physical body, to make others happy by one’s own sacrifice, or to alleviate the afflictions of others, for example by example by nursing the patients, comes within the scope of Shúdrocita sevá.”
“The services rendered by supplying food, money, etc. are termed Vaeshyocita sevá. Protecting others, even by risking one’s life is Kśatriyocita Sevá. Viprocita Sevá is to give expression of Adhyátma yajiṋa by imparting the spiritual knowledge you have gained. Instil in others the earnest desire to follow the path of virtue – only then will you justify your existence as a social creature.”
“Shúdrocita sevá is the backbone of society. Those who undervalue Shúdrocita sevá cannot render Vaeshyocita sevá. In the same way, one has to become a Shúdra, in order to be eligible for rendering Vaeshyocita-sevá. Exactly in the same way, one has to become a Shúdra, a Vaeshya and a Kśatriya in order to be eligible to render Viprocita Sevá.” (5)

If one is well-versed in dharmashastra and knows all the philosophical teachings yet lacks courage then they are not a sadvipra because they have not developed themselves as a kśatriya. To overcome cowardliness, one must develop that kśatriyan quality of mind. Similarly, if one is very courageous but wholly unaware of Guru’s teaching and prone to falling into dogma, then they are not a sadvipra as they lack the quality of a vipra.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Beggar vs sadvipra

Ananda Marga ideology says, “According to our philosophy, when consciousness arises in individual life then a person begins to move in accordance with certain instructions, certain guidance. In collective life as well, when this stage comes, those who are well advanced, who understand better, who are more courageous, more firmly established in morality, who are truly righteous, they have to take the lead, to assume the mantle of leadership. In such times those who worry about what others will say or think, or worry about being criticized, and due to this fear hide behind closed doors thinking that if they take action their good name will be tarnished, such people are not true human beings. They are beggars, begging for reputation. They have no manliness; they have lost the courage to move ahead. At that time those who come forward and say – “Let’s go. I’m with you. If trouble comes, let it come. I’ll take it on my shoulders” – such people I have given the name sadvipra.” (6)

Call of Mahasambhuti

Ananda Marga ideology says, “This is the way it has been and the way it will always be. However, in collective life at the critical juncture between one great age and another, in this transitional stage of great change, when it becomes impossible for the common man or even ordinary sadvipras to take up the leadership, then Parama Puruśa through his special grace arranges that leadership. At this time on the earth humanity is witnessing such a yuga sandhi. On one side there is the rubbish heap of the past and people are clinging to that rubbish heap because they have not yet been shown the way out. And on the other side, there is the call of the new. Under such conditions what will that Mahásambhúti do who gave guidance to the human race in the past? With courage he will call to human beings and declare: “Give up the rubbish of the past. It can only harm you and lead you to your death. Move ahead. Answer the call of the new. I am with you. There is no reason to be afraid.” (7)

Following Your order

"Ámi, tomár náme tomár gáne, jiivan kát́ábo..." (Prabhat Samgiita #2455)

Purport:

My Parama Purusa, I will spend my whole life singing Your song and propagating Your glory, by Your grace. You are the be-all and end-all of my life - my everything. I will satiate my heart by pleasing You in all the ways: performing the sadhana which You taught, and doing the work that You like. I will pass my entire life chanting Your name and singing Your song.

Prabhu, it is the eternal law of this creation that whoever has taken birth will one day depart. Coming and going from this earth is the cosmic rule. Nobody can take anything along with them. Only Your love and bhakti is everlasting. That alone remains always - in this mortal world as well as beyond. Baba, You are the Eternal Entity; I will get You by treading on Your path ceaselessly, by Your krpa. I will spend all my time chanting Your name and singing Your glory.

Parama Purusa, if You wish to be near or go for away it is up to You. Just I have this one request: Please always keep Yourself present in my inner vision. Baba, by Your mercy, with the pull of my longing and love, I will bring You near. And when You are sitting next to me I will sing a song for You, and You may listen up to Your heart's content. I want Your desire to be fulfilled. You may do whatever You wish. My Supreme Entity, I will pass my entire life following Your order - chanting Your name.

Baba, kindly bless me so every moment of my life is for pleasing You. Please shower Your divine compassion on me so I can march forward on the spiritual path…

Which language used in education

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “What does mother tongue mean? That language in which we can freely, smoothly and spontaneously express our ideas in an unobstructed environment, just as we feel loving closeness with our own mother while in conversation, is our mother tongue.” (1)

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Students may feel inconvenience if the medium of instruction is English only or if the question papers are in English only.” (2)

Baba's teaching is that both one’s mother tongue and English (as the current international language) are important. But the general education curriculum should be presented in one's mother tongue. And in addition, English should be taught as a subject unto itself. English should not be the medium of education in countries where the people's mother tongue is not English. On this point, Germany is an excellent example. All education is in German medium. So subjects like engineering will always be taught in German. And in addition, there is an English class for the purpose of making people fluent in English. In this way, engineers in Germany do their work in German and converse in German, and yet are also fluent in English and fully capable of communicating with others in English should the need arise. In India, as well as all other countries of the world, this is how it should be done. The mother tongue has unique value in enabling someone to formulate and express their thoughts comfortably and facilely; its importance and vital role in education should always be recognized, and, at the same time, there should be an English class so the students can learn English.

Three outrageous lies propagated in newspaper by three flunkies

Namaskar,

H group stooges like Hariishananda, Ananda Danavrata, and Raganugananda held a press conference about Jamalpur DMS. They told that that his godhead and coward PP is the founder of AMPS and presiding over Jamalpur DMS. It is obvious that was a completely outrageous evil lie to say that  Vishvadevananda is the founder of AMPS. That was the first lie told by Hariishananda, Ananda Danavrata, and Raganugananda.

About three sycophants representing Rudrananda
  • Hariishananda is allegedly bisexual and has had all kinds of illicit relations with various genders. He is a veteran of sexual affairs and dirty relations for the last thirty years.
  • Ananda Danavrata is allegedly bisexual and absolutely infamous for both her heterosexual and lesbian relations with various Didis and her sweetheart Madhuvratananda. By sleeping with them she got promotion to the top post in WWD.
  • Raganugananda has the speciality and fascination in women affairs.
These three bootlickers are the crown jewels of ringleader Rudrananda.

And the goal behind their lies is to befool the public and earn donations from local shops, businesses and industries and save that money for their luxurious lifestyle.

Please see newspaper below

The below underlined red sections are the critical lies propagated by H group stooges, i.e. those whose images are below and whose names are discussed in prior paras. If the matter is not clear due to language issues please consult some translation company.

Lies propagated in newspaper by three flunkies (continued)

Their second lie was that 50,000 people from around the globe are going to attend Jamalpur DMS. But everyone knows that was false. That was the second lie told by Hariishananda, Ananda Danavrata, and Raganugananda.

Their third lie is attendees of the Jamalpur DMS will come from 150 countries, spanning the entire globe. That was the third lie told by Hariishananda, Ananda Danavrata, and Raganugananda.

Conclusion

Baba’s grand teaching is to propagate only satya.

You shall, preach only Satya. Explain to them whatever you have done with reasons thereof. Also, make it clear to them what you want to do and why you want to do. The result of this highly useful.” (1)
