Nowadays, there is much social unrest around the globe. And in the US, where racial tensions are high, for the past few years statues have been removed and toppled, both by the governmental authorities and protest movements. And this spread to Europe and other regions also. We should understand this trend and know the Proutistic solution as well.
False history recorded
Not only in the past but today also, all kinds of false histories are being taught around the globe. Generally, the victors are hailed as heroes with their likeness preserved for posterity in the form of statues, paintings, namesakes, or memorials etc. In contrast, those common people who were beaten, repressed, pushed down, and exploited are often left forgotten, with their stories never told.

Confederate monuments are being toppled and torn down
Operative factor
The operative factor is that when a false narrative of history is systemically imposed on the people through books, schooling, and propaganda, then the public gets completely outraged when they come to know the truth of what really happened. That is what is happening in the US nowadays. And the same thing will happen with the Gandhi statues in India when the people realise that Gandhi was responsible for the butchering of millions of innocent people.
Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Those demons in human form do not think that after their demise a real evaluation of their ideals and actions will take place. Only then do people realize, “My God, what a great mistake I made! I worshipped a monkey taking it to be a god!”” (1)
A retelling of history
According to the Propounder of Prout, the entire landscape of history needs to be retold and retaught in a proper manner wherein the truth is comprehensively portrayed.

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "The greater the heat of the sun, the greater the amount of ultraviolet rays in the sunlight. A study of geography tells us why there are differences in the degree of heat of the sun’s rays. Where the sun’s rays fall on earth obliquely, there is less heat of the sun, and where the sun’s rays fall straight on the earth, the heat is greater. In very hot countries white-skinned people find it very hard to live, because their skin, having less of the chemical substance called melanin, is unable to stand much heat. Body skin with a great quantity of melanin in it turns jet black, and obviously a lesser quantity of melanin makes one’s skin white. If ever white people are forced for some reason to live long in a hot climate, their colour turns brown. In 1939-40, when British soldiers came to India for war purposes, their colour became brown due to the great heat. Naturally, as the skin of these soldiers had to adjust with the hot climate of India, there were some necessary changes in their skin to effect acclimatisation." (3)
Here the point is that we are one human race with different physical features. There are not different races based on different physical characteristics.

Virginia Governor Ralph Northam announced that Richmond’s largest Confederate statue will be removed—one among the many statues in honor of the Confederacy that are being taken down in cities across the U.S., as thousands of people nationwide take to the streets to stand up against injustice.
The statues have proved divisive for communities for years. For some, they’ve symbolized heritage, but for many, many others, the statues have been a symbol of past and present racism in the U.S. Calls to remove them came once again at the forefront as thousands of people protest police brutality after the officer-involved killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis. In response, many city leaders have decided to remove the statues. Some have already come down in Birmingham and Mobile, Ala.; Louisville, Ky.; Jacksonville, Fla.; and Alexandria, Va., among other places. Activists in many other cities are petitioning for their statues to be removed.
The statues have always been rooted in white supremacy, historians say. They were erected en masse through the southern U.S. in the late 19th Century, years after the Civil War ended, specifically as a reminder to African Americans that white people held power.
“It’s not just that the statues represent white supremacy, but the purpose of building the statues was the perpetuation of white supremacy,” James Grossman, executive director of the American Historical Association, tells TIME. “This is why they put them up in the first place; to affirm the centrality of white supremacy to Southern culture.” (Courtesy of Time magazine)
