Spiritual life: shelter + 4 more

Baba
Spiritual life: shelter

Namaskar,

Once I visited one of my friends who worked at the police station. While I was there, one baby was brought to the station by a concerned citizen. The baby became separated from its mother at a local mela (festival), and the baby was crying and crying - longing for its mother. Police officials were trying to help the baby by offering the child some chocolate, fruit, sweets, candy etc. But all their attempts were in vain. I kept wondering, “Why is this baby crying nonstop?” What was missing? What is it that the baby needs?
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

As we all know, that baby did not need anything other than its mother. Why mother? Because the baby feels safe when it is under the shelter of its mother. Haven't you seen in your childhood or neighbourhood that when 2 young children of different families quarrel, they claim, “I will tell my mother and she will beat you.” The point being those young kids think their mother is going to solve all their problems. In that way, small babies are care-free. They do not have any problems per se because they rely upon their mother to take care of everything.

Importance of shelter under Parama Purusa

The whole concept of shelter is very significant. Taking the shelter of Guru has tremendous value in the life of a spiritual aspirant. Life is enmeshed in problems; yet those who depend more and more on the Supreme Entity are comparatively stress-free and relaxed. Life is blissful. In contrast, those lacking the feeling of taking shelter in God, live in a quagmire of problems. In spite of having all worldly luxuries, they still live in hell - in tension. To remove that, they get addicted to alcohol and other vices. So taking shelter in Guru is very meaningful in day to day life.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

It is illustrated in Ananda Marga ideology, "Mahat prpaeva bhagavat krpaleshadva", meaning the grace of Guru is everything.

We can say that Sadguru gives His special grace when a bhakta takes shelter in Him. In spiritual life, His grace is everything. So when grace is everything and grace is related with the feeling of shelter under the Guru, and when the feeling of shelter is associated with the feeling of the presence of Guru, then feeling Guru's presence is paramount. Because without feeling His presence one will not feel His shelter.

For the bhakta, Guru's presence means, "very close proximity with my own existence." So to take shelter in Him, the existence of both Guru and the bhakta is required. Those who do not have shelter become terrified in the face of difficulties and adversities. Whereas those who have taken shelter under Parama Purusa never feel helpless or scared when danger falls because they think the All-Powerful Entity is going to resolve everything.

Namaskar.
At His feet,
Satya Prakash

Presently, each and every margii is aware about Guru sakash. The sadhaka feels, "Baba is in my close proximity - showering His grace." In Ananda Marga, each and every day starts with Guru sakash.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "Gurusaka'sha means 'near the Guru, under the Guru's umbrella, under the Guru's wings, in the Guru's shelter'." (1)

Guru sakash can only be done when one has this basic feeling or ideation: "I am under His shelter" or "He is, that is why He will give me the shelter", and "He is here with me". Sadguru has graced every bhakta to feel, "Parama Purusa is easily accessible, He is around me. Not only around me but very close and intimate." This special feeling is a great boon in the life of any sadhaka: To experience what it is like to live under His shelter.

Your divine colours

“Jeoná jeoná dure jeoná, je bá tomáy eta bhálobáse go…” (Prabhat Samgiita #0579)

Purport:

O' Parama Purusa, please do not go, do not go, do not go far away. I want to hold You close, as my nearest One, as my very own. O’ my Dearmost, don’t You have love for those who love You very much?

The flower blossoms in the terrace in the morning when sun rays appear. Smeared with Your divine colours, my mind bathes in the full moon night. In this beautiful ambiance, my mind only runs towards You. In spite of the fact that You are unfamiliar and unknown to me, I feel that You are very familiar and well known to me. You are my dearest One. You know this truth, so then why do You feign ignorance and remain aloof and distant?

Baba, You are very close and most loving to all. Please shower the nectar of Your heart upon everyone. O’ Parama Purusa, You are the eternal companion to all in their joys, sorrows, victories, and humiliations. You are present with all of Your children, always. Please do not forget this eternal truth….

Fish justice prevalent

Namaskar,

These days fish justice is a common phenomenon in society. Sadly, those who are exploited the most don't even know that they are being exploited. For example, capitalists are exploiting in all spheres of life, but the common people think that those capitalists are helping them. In the US and many places, the people think that those big corporations are providing jobs, food, and stability, and are thus doing a great service to society. Yet those capitalists are doing this for their own selfish profit motive; they have no regard for the common people.

In our Proutistic outlook, we know that the entire property of the cosmos belongs to Parama Purusa, but the common people in materialistic areas think that those wealthy people are fortunate and blessed - regardless of how they acquired their riches and fortune.

How blind people think

In India, the people think that the super rich did some great virtue in their past life and that accounts for their tremendous wealth in this life. And those same commoners believe that, “I am poor because of my past misdeeds.” So they accept the tyranny of those capitalists.

The west is exporting pseudo-culture everywhere by various media. Yet naive people think that the west is helping them and they feel proud and glorified by adopting western pseudo-culture. But, by that way, those simple communities are being degenerated and swallowed whole by those big capitalist entities.

Conclusion

So wherever you look exploitation is going on. Yet the people are not aware. That is the sad state of affairs these days. Mass awakening is needed to turn this situation around. When people become cognizant of the presence of exploitation, then the tides will begin to turn in the right direction.

In Him,
Harideva

There are examples of fish justice. In Samskrta literature different words and analogies have been formed based on the characteristics of various creatures. The below teaching on fish justice is one such example. The main purpose is to educate the public about the inherent qualities of those animals and demonstrate how this concerns our human society. To this end, in Samskrta literature, there is an abundance of words and phrases related with the natural world, i.e. animals, birds, and various other creatures.

Here below is an English summary of Baba’s original teaching from Shabda Cayanika in Bengali:

The reign of fish is known as matsya-nya'ya (fish justice). Fish justice means a disorderly, unjust condition where the strong eat the weak. When this situation arises in our social life then we say that in society fish justice is going on. (English summary)  (1)

Don’t advise these people to get married

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Marriage is slightly different from other natural functions in life, such as eating, sleeping, etc. Marriage is not so essential for life as are food and sleep. The need for marriage differs with individuals. That is why in the opinion of Ananda Marga every individual has complete freedom in matters of marriage. For example, marriage of those persons who suffer from some physical or mental disease, or who are not financially well off, or whose present circumstances are not favourable for marriage (i.e., where marriage can cause unhappiness), is not desirable. Those who are constantly engaged in the fulfilment of an ideal, or those who have to spend the greater part of their day in earning their livelihood or some mental occupations, should not marry, because they will not find it possible to fulfil their family commitments properly. The marriages of such people are harmful to the society in many cases. Although marriage is not desirable for those who are suffering from some disease or whose circumstances are not favourable to getting married, there remains a possibility of their indulging in vices stealthily if they are not married. To avoid this, they should work for the attainment of some high ideals or do rigorous spiritual practices. The psychological degeneration which is inherent in the suppression of psychic tendencies can be avoided only by an effort to fulfil a lofty ideal.” (1)

Note: Remember one should know and propagate that under the certain circumstances marriage is harmful. According to Ananda Marga philosophy, marriage is undesirable for the following types of people:

(a) Those who suffer from a physical or mental disease: In the society there are so many children born disabled with genetic diseases and birth defects. This can be significantly reduced if the parents are healthy.

(b) Those not financially well off: If a person lacks the financial means to raise a child and provide for them then they should not reproduce. In many financially impoverished countries, children are forced to work as servants or kids have  to beg by the roadside. That is disgraceful. Those who cannot feed their children should not marry.

(c) Circumstances are not favourable for marriage: If marriage will lead to unhappiness then those persons should not marry. For instance, those working at their job for 18 - 22 hours a day cannot attend to the children. So they should not marry otherwise their children will suffer. Those kids will not be mentally or emotionally developed. In result they will be destructive forces in the society. Those types of children commit heinous acts like mass shooting, or they feel alienated and resort to drugs etc.

(d) Those constantly engaged in the fulfilment of an ideal: Wts, lfts, even dedicated margiis who want to devote 24hrs time for the welfare of society should not marry. They will always be engaged in serving the society, and, if married, their unit family would get neglected.

(e) Greater part of their day in earning their livelihood or some mental occupations: Researchers, writers, artists, scientists, and those who are intellectually and spiritually committed to a high degree in a given endeavour should not marry because they do not have space in their mind for anything else.

Re: What is free will

Namaskar,

Free will is the capacity to decide what to do and what not to do. Humans have this quality, not animals. People constantly decide what to do after weighing the pros and cons,  the positive and negative. So Parama Purusa has given humans a lot of latitude and freedom, which animals do not have. Animals are guided purely by instinct. By seeing one particular dog then you can understand how other dogs of that breed behave. With humans, one cannot generalise in this manner. Everyone has their own unique way of making a decision, even under the same circumstances. This is due to free will. The central idea is that God has given you the capacity to do wrong or right. And that is free will. And due to this freedom you are rewarded or punished also. For example you have the capacity to beat or serve others also. If you beat and abuse others you will be punished. And if you serve others you will be rewarded. Again, the freedom to do whatever you wish is free will. Some people misuse it and some utilize ir. For instance, after death there are many who get punished and have to return to animal life due to their bad decisions. They misused their free will. In contrast, those who follow the path of righteousness realise God. This is the central idea of free will.

in Him,
Brahma Prakash

Have you seen the naked dance of evil and heard the hypocritical and raucous laughter of the divisive forces - Ananda Vanii #42

“Despite its advent onto this earth many thousands of years ago, humanity is not yet capable of building a well-integrated and universal human society. This is in no way indicative of the glory of human intellect and erudition. You, who have understood the predicament, realized the urgency, seen the naked dance of evil and heard the hypocritical and raucous laughter of the divisive forces should throw yourselves into this noble task without further delay. When the ends are just and noble, success is inevitable.”

Note: The above is one of Baba’s original Ananda Vaniis. These original and true Ananda Vaniis are unique, eternal guidelines that stand as complete discourses in and of themselves. They are unlike Fake Ananda Vaniis which are fabricated by most of the groups - H, B etc.

Understanding Surrender - 2

"A  jiṋánii often becomes fatigued with the continuous cultivation of knowledge. Sometimes, after prolonged thinking, the brain simply refuses to function any more and it becomes increasingly difficult to implement one’s internal thoughts and ideas. What happens at that time? Knowledge concedes defeat and the ego has no choice but to surrender. Finally, one is compelled to plead, “Oh Parama Puruśa, please help me, please save my prestige.”" (1)

Note: In the life of a sadhaka on the spiritual journey, the first and foremost ingredient is surrender. Yet surrender itself is defined and described in a multitude of ways. In the above quote however, surrender is explained in a very simple manner.

WT Conduct Rules: casteism, provincialism,
nationalism, or communalism will not be tolerated

Baba says, “You will always think in terms of Cosmic brotherhood and act accordingly without fail. Any sectarian view or narrowmindedness such as casteism, provincialism, nationalism, or communalism will not be tolerated.” (1)

Note: In the above rule, Baba is giving one golden teaching. Unfortunately, nowadays because some are not following this guideline – and instead falling into the trap of groupism – the present situation has developed.

Hence those entrapped by these diseases of narrow mindedness etc, if they are using saffron dress then they are just fake WTs. We should judge the calibre by seeing the conduct. And these conduct rules are the measuring rod.

Spiritual way to start the day + 3 more

Baba
Spiritual way to start the day

Namaskar,

First of all one should know the history of how Gurus used to convey their teachings and guidelines to their disciples, from one generation to the next. For example, take Lord Shiva’s time. There was no camera and no script, so Lord Shiva taught the process of dhyana by creating a shloka about the colour, shape, size, and about what to do etc. That is the entire shloka and process of dhyana. By that way, the correct process was handed over from generation to generation. That was in shloka / poetic verse so followers could easily memorise it.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Here is a great dharmic practice to be done very early in the morning, immediately after getting up. Even beginners on the path of the spiritual journey should practice this.

Suppose one handyman memorised a “how to” booklet and comes to your door to fix your leaky faucet. And he repeats those instructions and walks away. Will you pay him? No, never. Because that process is meaningless until he practically does something. Guru sakash shloka is just an instruction of what to do. It is important to perform that action. Repetition itself is useless. That is why one need not repeat the shloka; one should repeat the mantra, just one word.

Baba's guideline: just after getting up

At the designated time each morning, every Ananda Margii awakens and immediately ideates on Sadguru. This is our practice of Guru sakash. And this practice of Guru sakash is just like our Guru dhyana. Because in Guru sakash we are to lovingly recite His divine name. This is the direction in Guru Sakash:

Smarettam nam purvakam
Meaning: 'Recall His Name'

Ananda Marga spiritual philosophy states, "Whatever words you use mentally to address the Guru at the time of dhyana or Guru dhyana, should also be used at the time of this Guru Dhyana [i.e. Guru Sakash]. You should always address the Guru for an extended period. This is Gurusaka'saha." (1)

In Guru sakash the bhakta is to engage in the deeply spiritual practice of chanting His divine name over and over again. With a heart drenched in His love and with His form floating in mind, the sadhaka is to recite His loving Name.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

It is just like how a baby cries and calls out for its mother and then the mother comes. Calling the mother's name is enough. That baby need not repeat some poetry or text from the mother's book in order to get the mother to come. Simply saying 'mama' is enough. Similarly to get Him in Guru sakash, just calling His name is needed - not more & not less. After all that is Guru’s guideline. So we should follow Him.

Way of calling

Point being that Sadguru directs us that when doing Guru sakash we are to chant His name. So then that is what every sadhaka should do; and, by following His guideline one is sure to get success. At the time of Guru Sakash the aspirant is to internally repeat His name using the dhyana mantra.

Here the main point is that one must know that in Gurusakasha one should call Him. That is the very clear-cut method for doing Guru Sakash: To repeat His divine name. And by this divine practice, one will get Him and drift in His bliss all day long.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "Whatever words you use mentally to address the Guru at the time of dhyana or Guru dhyana, should also be used at the time of this Guru Dhyana [i.e. Guru Sakash]. You should always address the Guru for an extended period. This is Gurusaka'saha." (2)

So, first and foremost, in every disciple's mind is to follow the Guru. And His instruction is to chant His name at the time of Guru sakash.

Gurusakásha: will meet with success

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Remember the Guru in the Guru cakra. This they should do sitting in siddhásana [perfect posture] or any other convenient ásana [posture], on the same blanket, skin, seat or bed as they had used for sleeping, immediately after waking up and before doing any other work or before having any other thought – even before performing their morning duties or any other task. This will be a high category of Gurusakásha. If it cannot always be done immediately after sleep, it is essential to remember the Guru early in the morning after overcoming sleepiness. If this is done, they will meet with success or illumination in each and every subtle and spiritual task that they perform in the course of the whole day.” (3)

Right way to do Gurusakásha

[Early in the morning one should meditate on the Guru in varábhaya mudrá with two hands and two eyes seated on a white lotus in Guru cakra, and remember Him by chanting His holy name (through a mantra).]

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Prátah means “in the morning”. ...Shirasi means “at the topmost point” – that is to say, in the Guru cakra. Shukle means “in a white”; abje means “in the lotus”; shuklébje means “in or on a white lotus”. And you have to meditate on the Guru who is dvinetra [endowed with two eyes] and dvibhuja [endowed with two hands]. In what posture is this Guru endowed with two eyes and two hands? In varábhaya mudrá [the gesture imparting fearlessness and bestowing grace]. He is your well-wisher and your benefactor. Whatever words you use mentally to address the Guru at the time of dhyána or Guru dhyána, should also be used at the time of this Guru dhyána. You should always address the Guru for an extended period. This is Gurusakásha.” (4)

Namaskar,
in Him,
Chandramohan

Never just repeat shloka

Suppose one handyman memorised a “how to” booklet and comes to your door to fix your leaky faucet. And he repeats those instructions and walks away. Will you pay him? No, never. Because that process is meaningless until he practically does something. Guru sakash shloka is just an instruction of what to do. It is important to perform that action. Repetition itself is useless. That is why one need not repeat the shloka; one should repeat the mantra, just one word.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Crystal clear varabhaya mudra photo

It is very helpful for everyone to have a crystal clear copy of Sadguru in varabhaya mudra. It is our birthright. Because without a photo of proper quality, doing Guru sakasha and Guru dhyana is not easy.

O’ human beings

"Prabháter ravi bole, ghumáye, ghumáye theko ná ár..." (Prabhat Samgiita #4703)

Purport:

O’ human beings, the sun of the new dawn is giving the message: Don't remain asleep in slumber anymore. You have a huge amount of work to do. A whole mountain's worth of commitment is in front of you; remove your lethargy. Don't remain drowsy any longer; do something for suffering humanity.

O’ sadhakas, since ages and ages you have been dozing in darkness. The whole night you were dreaming. Now do not snooze anymore; this is not the time for sluggishness. Get up. Serve and help those who are shedding tears and being tortured by removing the heavy load of their pain and suffering.

O' living beings, look, the crimson panorama is spreading refulgence; everything is shining. That bright and glorious day is not far away any longer. The time has come when people will be liberated from all bondages; there will not be any exploitation. All will enjoy a blissful life. On the peak of the mountain, on the forest trees, birds are chirping and spreading this divine message that all will be blessed.

O' brothers and sisters, the crimson daylight is knocking at your door; the era of neohumanism has come....

Harbingers always face opposition

Ananda Marga ideology states, "It was considered nothing short of blasphemy to translate the religious scriptures from Saḿskrta into Bengali. The Nabab Hussein Shah personally tried to develop the Bengali language. With his active support Krttivása Ojah translated the Ramayana, Káshii Ram Dash translated the Mahabharata and Máladhra Vasu translated the Bhágavata from Saḿskrta to Bengali. This caused a furore among the community of scholars. They tried to brand Hussein Shah as a saboteur of the Hindu religion because, according to them, to translate the holy scriptures into Bengali was to defile the Hindu religion. Máládhra Vasu had to bear the stigma of being a Moslem convert and was widely ridiculed as Guńaranjiṋa Khan. So incensed were the Saḿskrta scholars over the translations of Krttivása Ojah that he was declared an outcaste for committing an act of sacrilege. All this took place only 450 years ago." (1)

Seeing Him: special tips + 4 more

Baba
Seeing Him: special tips

Namaskar,

It is the duty of every sincere margii to do Guru sakash upon waking. In the practice of Guru Sakash, it is explained that one should see Guru in varabhaya mudra. And for that, the pratikrti [photo] has been given.

Those who remain 24 hours in manan, shravan, nidhidhyasana, pranayama, mantra japa etc, then, for them, visualization is very easy and blissful. But for others it is not easy. This following process is for those who in the deep core of their heart want to visualize Him with sincerity and bhakti.

This below section is not for all. This is for those who feel that Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji is Sadguru, the Supreme Entity, Parama Purusa. This below guideline is useless for those who do not have this type of feeling.
http://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Process to enhance Guru sakash & related lessons

1. One should place Baba's (varabhaya mudra) photo before them.

2. Then they should keep their eyes open, gaze at the photo intently, and mentally extend their hand (not physical hand) and hold His feet mentally, and start serving Him mentally. Mentally, they should go on repeating His name “Baba’ (all the while keeping their eyes open and gazing at His feet or photo with open eyes.) Ask His grace - beseeching Him mentally. And do only those things which feel very natural. During this point #2, the eyes are open the entire time.

3. Then they may close their eyes and try to do all of point #2 in the mind, i.e. with the eyes closed.

4. If point #3 does not work they should go back to point #2.

5. Repeat the process (i.e. points #2 and #3) again & again.

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "Early in the morning one should meditate on the Guru in Vara'bhaya Mudra … and address Him with your most loving and affectionate epithet..." (1)

So the idea is to sweetly call Him using your most loving and affectionate epithet, and that is the term ‘Baba’. Verily, as sadhakas and bhaktas, we affectionately address Him as ‘Baba’. That is why all Ananda Margiis emphatically raise the slogan: “Parama Pita Baba Kii - Jai!!”

Baba is ever-gracious; certainly, you will feel His grace.
http://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

in Him,
Prabhu Sharan

Instructions for Guru sakash

Here below is that special section of the discourse where Baba speaks specifically about Guru Sakash and how to ideate upon Him.

Pra'tah shirasi shuukle'abje dvinetram' dvibhujam' gurum'...

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "Early in the morning one should meditate on the Guru in Vara'bhaya Mudra with two hands and two eyes seated on a white lotus in Guru cakra, and address Him with your most loving and affectionate epithet..." (2)

Note: The photo should be medium size, i.e. 10” X 12”  at least or larger - not just a small postcard version. The larger the photo the greater the clarity.

Your dance

Note: Only those who sincerely practice the higher lessons of sahaja yoga meditation can understand this song in the depths of their heart.

"Esecho tumi esecho, bhuvan bhariyá esecho, yugántarer gláni sariye diye,
áloker dhárá enecho..." (Prabhat Samgiita #3289)

Purport:

MyParama Purusa, Baba, You have come and have filled the entire world with bhakti. After removing ages and ages worth of agonies, You brought the flow of divine refulgence.

Baba, no one will remain in the dark any longer. You are the embodiment of these avenues: karma, knowledge, dhyana, and bhakti. You are the ocean of love, immeasurable, and infinite - ever ensconced in the fountain of love and affection.

Baba, Parama Purusa, the creation, preservation, and withdrawal is held within You. Guńátiita, the three gunas - sattva, rajah, tamah - are within You; Kálátiita, You go on performing Your cosmic liila with the time-factor. You dance according to the rhythm of Your divine liila’...

Notes for Prabhat Samgiita #3289:

[#1] Gun'a'tiita: One of the infinite characteristics of Parama Purusa is that He is beyond the gun'as, beyond all the binding principles like sa'ttvagun'a, rajogun'a, and tamogun'a.

Ananda Marga ideology says, "Why is He beyond the scope of all attributions [binding principles]? There are two reasons. One is that He is the creator of everything, so He is the creator of qualifications also, attributions also. So how can He be within the binding scope of those principles, of those qualifications? And certainly He is beyond the reach of these qualifications. In Sam'skrta, qualification or attribution is called “gun'a”, and He is called “Gun'a'tiita”, that is, beyond the bondage of any gun'a." (1)

[#2] Kalatiita: Time is the psychic measurement of motivity of action. The entity who is beyond time is Kalatiita; time is not eternal - time is limited. Only Parama Purusa is infinite. Parama Purusa precedes time factor - He was present before there was time. Or we can say that before creation there was no time but there was Parama Purusa. That is why He is beyond time, i.e. Kalatiita.

Ananda Marga ideology guides us, "Time is the mental measurement of the motivity of action. Where there is no action or where there is no mind to measure, there cannot be any time either. If there were no earth, or if the earth had not revolved around the sun, or if there were no developed living beings to measure the movement of the earth around the sun, then there would have been no days, months or years. We could not have measured them, and thus there would have been no time either. Hence the existence of time depends on two factors: the motivity of action and the instrument to measure this motivity of action...what we call Eternity is a collection of numerous fragments of time." (2)

[#3] What is time

Ananda Marga ideology states, "Time is not an eternal factor. Because what is time? It is mental reckoning of the motivity of action. This mental reckoning of the motivity of action [means that] where there is no action, there cannot be any time. The earth moves around the sun; that is how we get the solar year, the solar month, the solar day. The moon moves round the earth; that is how we get the lunar month, the lunar year, the lunar [day]. And the solar year or lunar year, the solar day or lunar day, are mental reckonings of their movements. Wherever there is no action, the possibility of measurement does not arise. And where there is action but no personal entity, no personal factor to measure the motivity, there cannot be any time. So the time factor is a relative factor; there cannot be eternal time. Time cannot be the absolute factor." (3)

Path of AM

Ananda Marga Shabda Cayanika states, “The common people, let alone the master artists, know that sound is not emitted if the strings are loosened too much and the soft and delicate strings snap if they are tightened too much. Human life is also like this. If one practises too much austerity (in some cases, if one makes a parade of austerity), tender human sensitivities snap and break into smithereens’ the soft, delicate parts of the mind get charred and petrified. On the other hand, if life is made akin to a loose string, the nobler yearnings of life will never be fulfilled. In other words, that kind of life degenerates into the life of an animal characterized only by bathing, eating and sleeping. Hence one must never allow the string of life to be loose. But also the string of life should not be left to snap due to excessive strain. The ideal course of life is neither left-oriented nor right-oriented. This kind of life will be conspicuous by the absence of strife, mayhem or horror of the leftists and of toleration of injustices by the rightists in their loose, careless and sloppy life. It is this ideal course that will usher in a life worth yearning for a super-human existence, divinely exquisite and shining brightly on the banner of gold.” (1)

Note: In the above quote Baba is explaining how Ananda Marga is the middle path. The rule of Ananda Marga is neither the lazy way of praying to nature or idol worship like the loose path, nor is it the path of extreme penance like standing on one leg for 20 years or sitting on a burning fire like avidya tantrikas. Ananda Marga is the ideal path. We follow 16 Points very strictly.

One should know that Ananda Marga is the middle path. Strictly following 16 points is the middle path. In His above teaching, Baba is referring to (a) avidya tantrikas who are very extreme in their penance and (b) idol worshippers. The middle point is Ananda Marga. Sadhakas should be very strict in 16 points. That is what is being taught in the above guideline.

How to elevate needy communities

Prout philosophy states, “In capitalism or democracy the state is theoretically for the welfare of the majority, but in practice it is the rule of the minority of vaeshyas. Other groups of people are forced to become second grade citizens.”

“The Proutistic social order follows the principle sarva jana hitáya – that is, PROUT is for the welfare of all. Nobody is suppressed or oppressed. PROUT supports the rule of sadvipras. Only sadvipras can guarantee the all-round welfare of all groups of people because sadvipras represent the interests of all classes in society.”

“Until PROUT is established, however, special efforts should be made to protect the interests of backward classes. For example, tribal people are among the most deprived of the backward classes. In Tripura and many parts of India, and in other countries of the world as well, tribal people are poor and illiterate. Special steps should be taken immediately to enhance their socio-economic development. Such steps should include the removal of all educational inequalities; the widespread establishment of cottage industries; proper agricultural facilities, especially irrigation water; self-reliance in energy production, such as electricity; increased communication facilities, such as telephones; and better transportation infrastructure, such as railways.” (1)
