Mahaprayan: Patna margii died of covid-19

Mahaprayan: Patna margii died of covid-19

Namaskar,

It is with much sadness that we share the news of the mahaprayan of Shrii Pappu ji of Patna. Pappu ji was the son of Shrii Ramashankar and his mahaprayan occurred due to complications from covid at 5:40pm.

Pappu ji was a kind-hearted soul who was keen to help and serve according to his capacity. He will be sorely missed by all those who knew him.

May we all take solace in the fact that Shrii Pappu was a bhakta of Sadguru Baba. Certainly he will attain mukti or moksa, accordingly. Baba will lovingly bestow His infinite grace.

in Him,
Caetanya Deva

Note: Here is an alert for those cremating a dead body in India or Indian managed cremation homes around the world. Their custom is to put the fire in the mouth of the deceased to initiate the burning of the body. This is prohibited in AM as it is uncivilised. So watch out; do not allow this. If you are not careful, they will end up cremating the body in this manner. Make them aware ahead of time.

Ananda Marga Caryacarya states, "The practice of putting fire into the mouth of the dead body is repulsive, it should not be encouraged." (Caryacarya - 1, Disposal of the Dead Body)

~ In-depth study ~

We have seen that when somebody dies then in offering their condolences people say now Mr So-and-so is sitting on Baba's lap. On other occasions when telling a Baba story people also say, "Such and such person sat on Baba's lap." But these days the trend is that "sitting on Baba's lap" is used more in connection with death. And that causes some confusion in reader's mind. To unknot the situation please read below.

Dogma: if "on Baba's lap" only used for death

Here are quoted lines from recently posted emails on various forums, wherein the writer uses the phrase - "in Baba's lap" - with the occasion of death:

- "May Parama Purusa Baba accept her in HIS divine lap"

- "We pray to Baba - please give him shelter in his lap... "

- "May his soul rest in the lap of our beloved BABA"

- "Now she is taking rest in Baba's Lap."

- "May Baba accept him in HIS divine lap....."

- "May he rest in HIS loving lap of eternity."

- "We are sure that Baba has taken him in His loving lap."

- "May his soul rest in Baba's lap forever."

- "Let her rest peacefully in Baba's Lap - which she always desired."

- "now he is in beloved Baba's lap"

- "May his soul get peaceful place in His lap"

- "He is now in Bábá's loving lap"

- "May Baba bless him with a seat in His lap."

- "May BABA accept him in HIS divine lap!"

- "May Baba take him in his eternal loving lap."

- "May his soul rest in peace taking shelter in Baba's lap."

- "Please keep him on Your lap forever."

- "We all collectively pray to Baba to take him on Baba's divine lap forever.”

All of the above lines are commonly written in eulogizing the deceased. These days mostly it is used in a eulogy and rarely used to recount one's intimate spiritual experiences - unfortunately. By this way, the phrase "in Baba's lap" is being misused and step by step the real meaning is being forgotten as now people more commonly use the phrase to eulogize those who have died, and much less so to express their inner feelings of bhakti. Unfortunately, the meaning and inner spirit of the phrase is getting lost.

Baba story: "sitting on Baba's lap"

Some time ago after dharmacakra, a senior margii was recounting his experiences of having dharma samiiksa with Baba. He said, "After being lovingly scolded by Baba for my wrongdoings, then He called me close and placed me on His lap - I remained there for some time soaking up His love - and He blessed me."

We all enjoyed hearing about his personal account with Baba during dharma samiiksa. When he finished telling his factual and historical event, there was a call for questions. Various people posed their queries. Towards the end, one new margii raised his hand and asked, "How did Baba bring you back to life?"

Everyone stared at the new margii in amazement. There was a look of astonishment all around - people were really shocked to hear him say this. The new sadhaka sensed that something was wrong He said very matter-of-factly, "I thought that sitting on Baba's Lap means that he (the margii) died - that is why I asked that question."

This was quite eye-opening for those of us in the room: Through our language and expression we had unknowingly taught someone to think that being on Baba's lap is the equivalent of death. Because it seems that nowadays people only use the phrase "Baba's lap" when a person has died, such as "Let him rest peacefully in Baba's lap", as if in order to sit on Baba’s lap one has to die. But that is false. Sincere sadhakas regularly sit on Baba’s lap in their meditation. It is His grace. It is just like a child need not die in order to sit on his father’s lap.

The idea is that this phrase - Baba's lap - has been linked with death due to extreme overuse. So for some time if sadhakas use this phrase exclusively for spiritual purposes, that will be best. The phrase, "sitting on Baba's lap", should not meet a similar fate. It should not lose its pure spiritual quality and just refer to one's death. That will be very negative.

Baba would bless bhaktas and place them on His lap

There are tens of thousands of recorded stories by sadhakas where they use the phrase, "on Baba's lap", when describing their experiences of being with Baba: He used to bless them and bring them on His lap. People should understand the deeply mystical value of this expression, and not just think that Baba's lap means death, i.e. that you can only sit on His lap at the time of death. Still today there are thousands of margiis walking this earth who sat in Baba's lap. And not only that, there are countless more sadhakas who were blessed by Baba in dreams and sadhana wherein they sat in His lap. And still today this deeply intimate experience is attainable by sadhakas, by His grace.

There are so many ways an aspirant can reach unto Baba's lap including in sadhana. That is the main idea that should be preserved. Sadhana is a spiritual practice and one can sit on Baba's lap in sadhana. We should make it cent-per-cent clear to one and all that the phrase, "sitting on Baba's lap", does not mean death.

"Mahaprayan" means death of mortals - confirm for yourself
from the Samsad Bengali-English Dictionary

Mahaprayan (Death): Many are aware that mahaprayan (death) is the common term used in India and especially in our Bengal to describe the death of any human being, even ordinary people. In that way, the obituary columns of the newspapers of Bengal regularly cite the mahaprayan (death) of various persons of society who died or passed away.

Some may get confused and wrongly think that the word 'mahaprayan' (death) is one extraordinarily term of bhakti to be used in association with Parama Purusa. But that is not at all the case. Rather to do so is only to undermine the eternal presence of Parama Purusa. That is why no bhaktas ever use the word 'mahaprayan' in reference to Lord Shiva or Lord Krsna. Because Lord Shiva and Lord Krsna exist eternally. Then there is no question of Their mahaprayan (death).

Baba is Parama Purusa so He is eternal and there is no question of His mahaprayan.

Here it should be known that the convention of an annual death day ceremony (i.e. shraddhainjali or mahaprayan) is a foundation of the Islamic tradition. Muslims are well known for this, and their approach of an annual death day ceremony was adopted by the leader of a particular group in AMPS. So no one should think that mahaprayan is some type of sacred event. It is done on the death day anniversary of Muslims.

And for those who need still more technical proof then all this can be clarified quite readily by referencing the dictionary. Specifically in the Samsad Bengali-English dictionary 3rd edition on page 848. Checking there it will be confirmed that the word 'mahaprayan' means death. Which is why it is used to refer to the passing away of even common citizens. And that is the case in this letter also. The term mahaprayan means death and this is the ideal term for this purpose.

Mahaprayan is only for humans not for Sadguru

Here it should be qualified that there is both real mahaprayan and fake mahaprayan. Real mahaprayan marks the death of any ordinary human being, just like the aforesaid news. This is the proper use of the term: To note a person's departure from this earth. That is the meaning of the mahaprayan term and that is the standard way the term is used in Indian languages.

Then there is the fake, or so-called, or dogmatic mahaprayan. That is when certain vested interests try to apply the mahaprayan term to Parama Purusa. This is grossly inappropriate because when Parama Purusa Sadguru Baba is that Divine Entity who is beginningless and endless and resides always in our heart, then it is entirely wrong to proclaim that He is gone.

That is why rational margiis are protesting; because the Oct 21st program is so-called mahaprayan. So-called means that something is fake. Parama Purusa is eternal, thus for some vested interests to declare "mahaprayan of Parama Purusa" is nothing but so-called mahaprayan.

Mahaprayan only really happens in the case of human beings, not Parama Purusa. Those doing mahaprayan for Sadguru are hypocrites. On the one side in meditation they ask His grace thinking that He is ever-present, and on the other side they think that Baba has passed away. That is their hypocrisy.

Baba's way + 5 more

Baba

Baba’s way

Namaskar,

Here is an indirect teaching which Baba has given about Islam:

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "When people's ideas are so fixed that they will not entertain any discussion or argument it is called “fanaticism”. It is said that religion is a question of faith, not logic. In India, there are many religious fanatics. Due to religious fanaticism and bigotry there have been innumerable violent clashes in the past. How repugnant that thousands of people were killed on the pretext of a single strand of [Prophet Mohammed] hair! These fanatics never bothered to listen to the beliefs of others, and moreover, for them it is a sin to listen to others. In one sense they are worse than animals, because animals do not harbour any communal feeling. Physical sentiments are predominant in such religious expressions. People should keep aloof from the bondages of religion. Behind all religious dogma, physical considerations are dominant." (1)

In His above guideline, Baba is pointing out some of the inherent dogmas of Islam. By not stating the name of the religion, Baba resorts solely to logic and reasoning, as well as practical examples to uncover and question those existing dogmas.

And there are countless other instances in His discourses where Baba is indirectly speaking about a particular person such as Karl Marx, Carvaka, Sigmund Freud, Mahatma Gandhi, Franklin Deleanor Roosevelt, or religious group such as the Jains, Buddhists, or any other type of political party, community, or ism. The main idea is that in His public discourses, Baba would use indirect language so His teachings and guidelines were presented in a very psychological manner.

Telling PA Dada not to record

It is also important to note that Baba would deliver many of His political or anti-dogma oriented discourses in the company of Ananda Margiis, yet that discourse was going to be printed for all to see. In that case, when Baba just wanted to clarify something about a particular political leader or speak directly about the hypocrisy of a so-called religious prophet, then Baba would tell PA Dada to "turn off the microphone". At that point, Baba would speak very candidly and openly to those bhaktas present, using very direct language. And then when He wished, He would continue the recording of the discourse using indirect language. This was a common phenomenon.

The theft of a relic hair of the Prophet Mohammed

~ Courtesy of Sciences Po ~

The theft of a relic hair of the Prophet Mohammed from the Hazratbal mosque in Srinagar (Kashmir) on December 27, 1963 provoked indignation in Pakistan and East-Pakistan (now Bangladesh). Protest marches and violence against the Hindu minorities took place in the cities of Khulna and Jessore (East Pakistan) on January 2 and 3, 1964. This led to retaliation against Muslims in Calcutta and in West Bengal, which in turn kindled events in Dacca and Naryangunj (East Pakistan), where minority communities (of Hindus, Christians, and Buddhists) were heavily targeted (although, ultimately, the holy relic was returned on January 4). According to the 1965 Report of the Indian Commission of Jurists on Recurrent Exodus of Minorities from East Pakistan and Disturbances in India thousands of Hindu families left East Pakistan and sought refuge in India after January 5. The Indian government arranged for special trains to deliver them to the states of Bihar, Orissa, and Madhya Pradesh where they were to be received. (http: // www. You do not wish to receive anything from me

"Bhálobese chile tumi ámáy, vinimaye kichu cáo ni..." (Prabhat Samgiita #3811)

Purport:

Parama Purusa, You are so kind. Since ages You have loved me, but in return You have never accepted anything. You do not wish to receive anything from me, only You want to go on pouring Your divine compassion on me. Whatever I have offered unto You, You have politely refused to take - You only shower Your affection.

Baba, my Supreme Entity, Your kindness knows no limit. It is just like the moon which suffuses its sweetness by pouring its soft moonlight on everything. The moon does not consider the good or bad quality of those entities, just the moon goes on shining its refulgence. In the same way, You pour Your karun’a’ upon all incessantly, everywhere. You never consider or look into who is high, or who is mean and low. You lovingly see everyone as Yours - worthy of Your infinite compassion.

My divine One Baba, in the pouring rain of the pitch dark night, the smiling fragrance of the ketaki flower permeates the entire atmosphere all the 24 hrs, regardless whether there is darkness or light. Similarly, You also do not care about the proper or improper time, or who is qualified for Your mercy or not. Your affection never ceases. Even in the wake of meteor strikes in Your beautiful sky, still Your prema shines forth on all. You are most gracious to everyone - all the time. Your blessing is like the sublime brilliance which removes all the darkness in the blink of an eye.

Baba, You are the most compassionate One. I surrender everything at Your altar; please accept me and keep me under Your shelter...

Birth privilege: wrong

Namaskar,

According to Shrii Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar - the Propounder of Prout philosophy - wherever a section of society gets special privileges and benefits on the basis of caste, gender, race, and creed then that will severely threaten unity. The reason is that instead of the entire collective body living arm-in-arm according to the same rules and procedures, there is mounting tension between various human groups because one particular group is getting special advantages. Across history and throughout the present-day society, there are numerous examples.

Prout philosophy states, "Caste is another important factor which disrupts society. The evils of the caste system are nowhere better known than in India. For unity in society, there should not be any small groupings within the society claiming economic and social privileges." (1)

For instance, in Israel the ultra-orthodox Jews have been receiving special financial benefits in the form of welfare bonuses. The rules for them are different. This has led to resentment, protests, and heated debates within Israeli society - and unity has been hampered.

Preferential treatment causes riots

We see similar effects in the Indian so-called caste system where so-called harijans (dalits) are scheduled castes and have been granted special privileges in the form of economic gifts and job quotas. That type of preferential treatment / Affirmative action / reservation on the basis of caste, gender, race, and creed  leads to strained relations, hatred, and even riots between members of society.

In contrast, if on an economic basis, financially impoverished people are getting monetary support from the central government or state, then that is supported by Prout.

Sadly, to enter the "inner cabinet" and highest decision making body of the various groups in today’s AMPS, there are special requirements. Some groups demand that one should be of a higher so-called caste, while other groups require birth in a certain geographical region etc. In result, tensions rise and the lines are drawn. Under such circumstances, unity can never be achieved. Because there cannot be special rights based on one's birth or social status.

So-called caste-based quotas India

The Supreme Court of India has repeatedly tried to curtail the scope of caste quotas, but the Parliament has passed amendments in response to protect and even expand them. The court has ruled that quotas should not exceed 50 percent of university admissions, but Tamil Nadu has ignored this restriction and a case challenging the state’s larger quota has been pending since 1994. In an interview,India’s law minister and minister for minority affairs, said that wealthy beneficiaries of caste quotas should acknowledge that they no longer need set-asides and voluntarily bow out of the system. Even monkeys want their fair share

What to say about human beings, even monkeys want their fair share. It is ingrained within even the earliest stages of human evolution. So whenever there is injustice in the unit family, organisation, or society at-large, chaos results. When one group exploits another group that lights the fire of extreme social unrest. To achieve unity in our Ananda Marga special privilege must not be given to any persons or group etc. This is a key point. Nowadays, there are privileges and hence rampant disunity.

Prout philosophy states, "For unity in society, there should not be any small groupings within the society claiming economic and social privileges." (2)

Affirmative action, also known as reservation in India and Nepal, positive action in the UK, and employment equity (in a narrower context) in Canada and South Africa, is the policy of protecting members of groups that are known to have previously suffered from discrimination. Another form of exploitation is the priesthood

Prout philosophy states, “In ancient times powerful rájas and mahárájas used to perform yajiṋas or sacrifices to declare that they were heroes, but this was also a form of exploitation. They erected many temples to hide their ill-deeds, not out of devotional spirit. There was an unholy alliance between physical exploiters and intellectual exploiters. Intellectuals have praised these rájas and mahárájas in all ages. Another form of exploitation is the priesthood. Capitalism will never go against the priesthood nor will priests go against capitalism. In order to create inferiority complexes in the minds of the people, intellectuals have composed many stories and myths. These stories are illogical and concocted to exploit the sentiments of the common mass. One glaring instance is the following verse composed by satanic opportunists.”

Bráhmańásya mukhamásiit váhurájano’bhavat
Madhya tadasya yad vaeshyahpadbhyaḿ shudrojáyata.

“Brahmins came out of the mouth, Kśatriyas were born out of the arms,
Vaeshyas came out of the trunk of the body, and Shúdras were born out of the legs.”

“In the capitalist structure, industry or production is governed by the profit motive, but in the Proutistic structure production will be governed by the motive of consumption.” (1)

Outdated slogan : “Art for art’s sake”

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “The creations or compositions of those who proclaim, “Art for art’s sake,” cannot be treated as sáhitya. Indeed, welfare which pertains to the mundane world is relative; its definition may also change according to changes in time, place and person. But the aspect of the term hita which leads human beings towards the absolute truth is one and the same for all ages and all countries.”

“In order to communicate with people at different stages of development who have different ideas, the same concept of welfare has to be expressed through different branches of knowledge. The grand, benevolent flow of ideas with the common people on one side and the state of supreme bliss on the other, is called literature; for in every particle, in every rhythmic expression of this benevolent thought process, the supreme bliss is lying dormant.” (1)

“Art for art’s sake” is not acceptable; rather
we should say, “Art for service and blessedness”

“Thus literature is that which moves together with society and leads society towards true fulfilment and welfare by providing the inspiration to serve. The statement “Art for art’s sake” is not acceptable; rather we should say, “Art for service and blessedness.””

“In every expression, in every stratum of this universe, however crude or subtle, only one recurring theme occurs, and that theme is the attainment of bliss. In the artistic movement towards welfare both the attainment and the bestowal of happiness find simultaneous expression. When sáhityikas dedicate themselves to the service or sádhaná [sustained practice] of literature, they have to let their creative genius flow in this stream; they have to purify all that is turbid, all that is impure in their individual life in the holy waters of their universal outlook and then convey it sweetly and gracefully to the heart of humanity. In this lies the fulfilment of their service, the consummation of their sádhaná.” (1)

Re: How people make their progeny into cowards

Namaskar

Yes...installing the ideas of ghosts in a child's mind is very bad.

In the USA the media in television and print has instilled in the collective mind many things that has all but prevented children for playing freely.
Halloween which celebrates ghosts end goblins...has a better side whereby children went door to door dressed up in costume and they received candy. Today it has all but disappeared ...unless parents accompany their children to every door. Why? Because of a few rare incidences..of straight pins and razor blades being found in candy. My thought is that accompanying children cannot prevent the rare evil described above but can reduce it. We have become suspicious of our neighbors. And woe unto that neighbor if he or she attempts to touch  a child. Even if that touch is meant to encourage or to help mentor that child.

Also child molestation has occurred all over the world. It  is especially prevalent within families. And yes there are evil people who abduct ..molest rape and murder children.

The media has reported these incidences so much so that children no longer play alone or with their friends. My mother used to say come home when the street lights are on...Greggie boy.

My wife would travel 40 miles by public bus at age 10 into the heart of the city alone...to have her teeth braces adjusted . But now you won't see this happen .
In fact charges have been brought against parents who allow their children to play alone .

So fear of ghosts..is yes only part of the problem. So what is the truth about these evil people who abduct children? The very same percentage of these acts per capita existed fifty years ago and beyond as it does today. But the media unconsciously  infuses in the minds of parents and children alike...that it is a more common occurrence...just because that in the past these events were not reported.

So who amongst us here encourages our children to run freely in the fresh air or ride their bicycles with friends? Next to none. Abject fear has all but crippled our children and the minds of parents. I too hold my grand daughters hands ever so tightly now when we walk together.

In the future humanity will rarely walk due to atrophied legs according to BABA.

I have to wonder if our overprotective tendencies here in the west and beyond coupled with our comfort living natures sitting in computer chairs...will contribute to that future atrophied race of humans.

In BABA
govinda
