Prout's way to assist the needy

Namaskar,

There are some who are in favour reservations and support the idea of reserving quotas or benefits for a particular race or caste, while others are against this policy. In the west, this issue is more commonly known as affirmative action. Leaving our own personal views aside for a moment, let us see what Prout philosophy says.

Prout supports affirmative action / reservations etc for a limited period, but this support must not be based on caste, skin colour, or so-called race, etc; it is based solely on socio-economic conditions such as financial resources and academic attainment. This letter addresses who should get top priority and consideration for aid, as well as the second and third tier levels of support etc.

Prout affirmative action / reservations

In society, when all are moving together, hand in hand, the entire social body will be healthy. If, however, some hoard money leaving others to starve, then the so-called elite bask in wealth, while the downtrodden lower classes suffer. And this is what is occurring in various countries. The outcome of this horrific imbalance is that the public becomes extremely dissatisfied and disaffected, and there is a lot of crime and lack of trust. And a huge amount is spent on policing due to suspicion and want etc. Both the question and answer are very clear: Why is there so much crime? Because a certain sector of the society feels they are surrounded on all sides by injustice with no hope for a brighter future. All that said, there is a workable solution. Most of the problems can be solved by following the below gradation system which helps the financially disadvantaged classes gain upward social mobility.

Prout philosophy states, "Here, “backward” means families who did not get any services or education in the past." (1)

Prout philosophy states, “In the present socio-economic environment, however, if the following preferential system is adopted as a temporary measure, then the suffering of the people may be alleviated. First, poor people coming from backward families should get first preference in the fields of services and education, irrespective of their birth affiliation. Second preference should go to the poor people coming from non-backward families. Third preference should go to the non-poor people coming from backward families. Last preference should go to the non-poor people coming from non-backward families. Here, “backward” means families who did not get any services or education in the past. Such families should continue to get these facilities until there is no poverty in the country – that is, until the minimum requirements are guaranteed.” (1)

Prout reservations for jobs & higher education

Based on Shrii Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar’s above teaching, here is the gradation system for supporting those in need.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

1. First preference for higher education and employment is given to those whose family members never attended college, or have factory or government jobs, and are impoverished in the economic sphere.

2. Second preference for higher education and employment is given to those whose family members had a factory or government job but are now impoverished in the economic sphere.

3. Third preference is given to those whose family members never attended college and do not have a factory or government job, but they are not impoverished in the economic sphere.

4. Fourth preference is given to those whose family members attended college and / or had a factory or government job and they are not impoverished in the economic sphere.

Furthermore, there will be an annual review of a person’s status. And if their situation has changed their benefits will be recalculated accordingly. It will be based on their socio-economic need.

Key point: Preferential treatment based on race, caste, and community is very poisonous—deadly. It creates division, unrest, and bloodshed in society.

Increase economic standard of entire society

Prout philosophy states, “Thus, the criteria for receiving preferential services and education should not be birth affiliation but a person’s economic condition. A so-called low caste shoe repair man may be economically well-off, thus the advantage of job reservation is superfluous for him and misleading for society. There is no need of job reservation in these circumstances. On the other hand, there may be a Maethil Brahmin who comes from a so-called high caste family but is economically very poor. Job reservation is essential for him, and would increase the economic standard of the entire society.”
“Many undeveloped and developing countries are struggling to elevate their backward classes. For example, Bihar is at war over the question of backward and forward classes. If the above system is followed, it would certainly end all possibility of struggle among backward and forward classes in India and other countries of the world. At the same time, it would automatically provide people with the opportunity for social justice and economic self-sufficiency. Without giving any consideration to caste, creed, religion, race, language or sex, governments would be able to create a suitable environment for the all-round and quick development of all local people, providing them with food, clothing, housing, education and medical treatment. This would eliminate any feeling of inferiority from their minds, and all would have the opportunity of earning their livelihood on the basis of their capabilities.” (2)

Conclusion

Socio-economic disparity is a pressing issue in many communities and lands. And if blanket governmental aid is given to entire social groups - like harijans or African-Americans, regardless of their economic status - then that leads to terrible social unrest. To solve this societal ill and heal humanity, the Propounder of Prout has delineated the ideal hierarchical system for determining who is worthy of aid. This Proutistic approach solves this issue in a just and peaceful manner, wholly avoiding the upheaval, resentment, and violence that can occur.

Culture is one

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Although according to perfect logic the culture of all humanity is one and indivisible, the exponents of isms do not understand this. They prefer to [wrongly] assert that the different sets of script and language, behaviour and habit, and local variations in expression, are actually the constituents of human culture.” (3)

Why discard family names

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Members of a particular race who consider themselves superior to others also very frequently inflict injustices on other sections of society. The expulsion (see note *) of the Jews from Germany by Hitler’s so-called superior Aryan race is a glaring example of racial injustice in society. In this country, also, injustices on Harijans by the so-called superior races have caused a tremendous amount of disruption in society. To obviate this type of social injustice, the first attempt should be to do away with racial distinctions in society. In Ananda Marga the first step that one takes is to forget one’s race or sect – to no longer identify oneself with one’s race, caste or sect – regardless of whether it was superior or inferior.” (A Few Problems Solved - 7, Social Psychology) (4)

(*) “Between 1941 and 1945, Nazi Germany and its collaborators systematically murdered some six million Jews across German-occupied Europe, around two-thirds of Europe's Jewish population.” (Wikipedia)

Drenched in sweet aroma

PS Intro: When the aspirant progresses in sadhana then the mind moves upwards, one stage to the next. The sadhaka in a lower bhava - like sakhya bhava etc - gradually moves upwards, closer to Parama Purusa, and reaches a higher bhava like madhura bhava etc. When one enters into this higher bhava - which is a new, closer relation with the Lord - then at first the sadhaka does not feel comfortable expressing this new feeling to His Lord due to fear and shyness. That mentality is beautifully expressed in the following song.

"Udvela hiya' ka're ca'ya, shayane svapane nide ja'garan'e..." (Prabhat Samgiita #0708)

Purport:

My melancholic, restless heart longs for the Loving One during sleep and dreams, when drowsy, and while awake - always. Who is that unknown, divine, charming Entity calling me - I do not know.

In this peak spring season, the atmosphere is charming and intoxicating. Everything is so sweet. The soothing ocean breeze is gently blowing in all directions. My heart longs for that unknown loved One. The sky is very attractive: The clouds are floating, and the sun's rays peep through in between the clouds. The scene is very alluring; it is so beautiful. Who is that Divine Entity, drenched in the sweet aroma of flower nectar, sitting distant, singing such captivating songs. Listening to these melodic songs, my heart is very restless.

My mind is restless for Him. It rushes towards Him every moment - it is beyond my control. It does not know how to respond to the call of that Loved One. Without smashing the obstacles like shyness and fear etc, how can I tell Him all the accumulated feelings of my heart, I do not know.

O, my Dearmost Lord, please do not remain distant. Come before me and grace me so I can surrender at Your lotus feet...

Note for Prabhat Samgiita #0708:

The sadhaka wants to express the feeling of their heart, but it is difficult due to shyness. With this closer proximity to Ista, everything feels very charming, but also very new. That is why the sadhaka feels shy. This song expresses the feeling of the arrival into that intimate stage when Parama Purusa is the Dearest One.

With a friend, one may not tell everything - but when one is very close then nothing remains concealed or hidden. This song is close to that stage. This song will be realised by those doing regular dhyana and getting Baba's grace. They can understand well.

The very subtle and intimate feelings of love cannot be written directly; that is why this song is given in an indirect manner. To learn more about the various bhavas, please refer to Namami Krsnasundaram discourses 7 & 27.

Why “worker” term

Namaskar,

Since long in India, dogmatic Hindu followers have been been victims of the so-called supremacy of the priest class. They do not even like to think about the negative or positive conduct of monks. Those dogmatic Hindu believers do sastaunga pranam or pranam to the dress: saffron dress. If those Hindu monks were smoking hashish, consuming alcohol, using tobacco, eating meat, or taking onion and garlic, then there would be no problem. Still those dogmatic Hindus would do sastaunga pranam or pranam to those depraved monks. Such dogmatic Hindu believers justify that, “I am not saluting that person, I am saluting the dress of that monk.”

The point is this superiority of the priest class is saturated in the soil, water and air of those dogmatic Hindu followers. So when AMPS was formed then some dragged this dogma into our AMPS when they joined. In this way, those using the saffron cloth were automatically treated as great, holy, and divine. And if they wore saffron robe and had a high post, they then were seen as being god incarnate. This is the unfortunate state of certain dogmatic, so-called margiis. They do not want to follow Baba’s teachings which are documented below. Rather they enjoy remaining drowned in rotten Hindu dogma of venerated the post or dress.

See the conduct not dress

All-knowing Baba knew that if this dogma continued then one section would suffer from a superiority complex and the other section would suffer from an inferiority complex. Just as the Hindu society is getting exploited, the same fate will happen in AMPS. Knowing this, to root out this problem permanently, Baba has given the term 'worker.' So nobody should mistakenly think that because of their dress WTs are holy or divine.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Here I am not telling that they are not divine. But there should not be any dogma on this. If anyone's conduct is divine then surely they are divine. And that person may be WT, LFT, or LPT. However, if their conduct is negative then the color of their cloth does not have any value.

Ananda Marga ideology says, "By observing people's conduct one will easily notice those who are absorbed in divine love...Those who have attained Iishvaraprema can never and will never exploit others. They will raise their voice against all sorts of tyranny, injustice, and exploitation. Those who do not possess that kind of honest courage to oppose all wrongs are nothing but fakes - they are never genuine [bhaktas]." (1)

Ananda Vanii states, “Your ideal is represented by your conduct. Your learning, your social or economic status have nothing to do with your ideal.” (2)
