Baba
Goodbye
Namaskar,
The moment of silence is a western dogma. In most circumstances, in worldly gatherings like concerts and sporting events, the agreed upon approach has been to observe a moment of silence as a way to say goodbye to and help the deceased.

“One minute” dogma from the west
We should propagate Ananda Marga philosophy / bhagavad dharma and the world should follow us. It is not that we should follow the outdated dogmas from around the globe. This "moment of silence" dogma started in Europe. Why should we follow this outdated idea? During the moment of silence the people remember the deceased, and they think that the deceased is watching them. Christians pray to God in favour of the deceased to give him a place in heaven. But, in Ananda Marga, we wholly condemn this dogma. In our Ananda Marga, we know that we cannot communicate with the deceased or give them our well-wishes or blessings etc. Baba has clearly stated that when a person dies then they are beyond this world, and no human being has the ability to affect, talk to, serve, help, make them happy, say goodbye, or communicate with the deceased.
Due to lack of adarhsa and ista, some cowardly people are following the one minute of silence dogma and trying to communicate with the deceased. Sadly, they lack the courage to spread the values of Ananda Marga.
Ananda Marga ideology guides us, “When they [the deceased] leave this world and go to the other world, they go beyond the scope of our responsibility. We cannot render any service to them [the deceased]. Our social responsibility is over as soon as the cremation is done.” (1)
Baba has clearly stated that when a person dies then they are beyond this world and no human being has the ability to affect, talk to, serve, help, make them happy, say goodbye, or communicate with the deceased. Without a physical body the bodiless mind is unable to function, rather it's in a state similar to a very deep sleep so it is unaware about anything.

Can’t communicate with the deceased
Some WTs have been instructing margiis to do a "moment of silence" for two minutes after Sunday Dharma Cakra whenever there is death in their bhukti, unit, region, or even sector. Here following is the reply why we should not support or partake in this "moment of silence" dogma.
Ananda Marga ideology guides us, “When they [the deceased] leave this world and go to the other world, they go beyond the scope of our responsibility. We cannot render any service to them [the deceased]. Our social responsibility is over as soon as the cremation is done.” (2)

Never done in front of Baba
Death is not a new thing that started after 1990. In the past also margiis and Wts were dying. And when they were dying there was no moment of silence after their death. Naturally, over the course of a year a few acaryas would die. And in the acarya meetings in the presence of Sadguru Baba, the Ac Board Secy would announce that such-and-such acaryas died, and without any pause he would continue going on giving report on other topics. He would say such-and-such acrayas died, and such-and-such new acaryas were created, and so such-and-such plans, programs, and strategies were discussed. Never was there any observance of a "moment of silence."

Baba has given the teachings about the AM system of shráddha [death ceremony]. And those who are interested should participate in that program - not a moment of silence.

Conclusion
The final point is that regarding death and death ceremonies, we should follow what Baba has told us to do. Why should we invite or entertain any dogma like "moment of silence" into our Ananda Marga society. If we allow it then in 20 - 50 years our Ananda Marga will become a swamp just like the xyz religion. And it will lose the spirit of its creation. Dogma no more, dogma no more.
This dogma of a “moment of silence” is prohibited in our AM. Only the shráddha [death ceremony] is done within a twelve day period. Any other type of ritual, like “moment of silence”, is not allowed as per Caryacarya.

~ In-depth study ~
1a. Here Baba guides us what should be our approach on the occasion of the shráddha [death ceremony].
Ananda Marga ideology states, "So what can we do? We can say “O Parama Puruśa, while that man was with us we tried our best to do whatever we could do. But now they are beyond our scope, they are beyond our jurisdiction, so please do take care of them.” This much of a request can be made by us, and nothing more than that." (5)
1b. The above quote is very useful for the occasion of the shráddha [death ceremony]. And that idea is already contained within the shloka for the shráddha ceremony.
2. Regarding Prabhat Samgiita #60, “Tomár jinis tomáke diyechi…”, that can be used on the day of shráddha, not other days. That is exclusively a shráddha [death ceremony] song.
Ananda Marga ideology guides us, “When they [the deceased] leave this world and go to the other world, they go beyond the scope of our responsibility. We cannot render any service to them [the deceased]. Our social responsibility is over as soon as the cremation is done.” (5)
3. In Ananda Marga the commemoration for the deceased must be done within 12 days.
http://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/
Ananda Marga Caryacarya states, "The period of mourning should not extend beyond twelve days." (6)
4. In the various religions it varies. The xyz religion allows one year, and in Christianity it is 40 days, and then annually. And in some tribal communities it is the whole life such as in Mexico where certain communities dig up the graves and collect the bones etc.
5. We should not introduce any type of annual death day dogma or related religious ritual into our Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha.
6. After anybody's death there is cremation and shráddha [death ceremony], and that is all.
Baba has clearly stated that when a person dies then they are beyond this world and no human being has the ability to affect, talk to, serve, help, make them happy, say goodbye, or communicate with the deceased.
Ananda Marga Caryacarya states, "The period of mourning should not extend beyond twelve days." (7)

Solution: How to get rid of this dogma - part B
7. When people come into Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha (AMPS), they bring dogma from their old religion.
8. Usually in society, people want to wallow in the past. But Ananda Marga is different. Baba says do not waste the time in singing the glory of the past or worrying about the misery of the past.
9. In Ananda Marga, death is not treated as something terrible; death is something normal like changing one’s clothes.
10. The main problem is that people came from other religions carrying their old dogma. But if they understand the issue they will not do all those things.
11. In sum when anybody dies do this:
(a) Cremation
(b) Shráddha [death ceremony]
(c) On shráddha day [death ceremony] those who could not arrive on site can offer their condolences using the above Prabhat Samgiita and Baba quote. Or if they prefer, they may convey their condolences by phone / email etc.

12. Then this dogma of a “moment of silence” will fade away.
Ananda Marga ideology guides us, “When they [the deceased] leave this world and go to the other world, they go beyond the scope of our responsibility. We cannot render any service to them [the deceased]. Our social responsibility is over as soon as the cremation is done.” (8)
Ananda Marga Caryacarya states, "The period of mourning should not extend beyond twelve days." (9)

Prout philosophy: “Question – Which is more psychological, capitalism or communism?”
“Answer – As compared to communism, capitalism is more psychological, although both are defective and cannot be supported. In communism there is hardly any scope for the free and unbarred expression of mind, and due to extreme regimentation the flow of the mind is checked by numerous social, economic and political constraints. In capitalism no such checks exist in theory, but in practice there are checks.”
“Question – What are the psychological defects of the commune system?”
“Answer – In the commune system, society is reduced to a production-distribution centre under a regimented system of control based upon production teams. Such a suffocative and mechanized living system fosters a materialistic outlook and produces atheistic leadership. The workers cannot feel oneness with the job, nor do they have the freedom to express their individual potentialities. If farmers feel they own the farm they will get a better outturn. If people are allowed unbarred psychic and spiritual freedom, human society will achieve greater psychic and spiritual progress.” (1)

Unique way to cure deafness
Note: If one deaf person arouses the devotional feeling to listen to Sadguru’s discourses and spiritual teachings and meditates on eitehr of His two mudrás (janusparsaha and varabhaya) then the deafness will be cured.
Ananda Marga philosophy states, “If a deaf man sincerely wants to hear what the Sadguru is saying, the positive microvita radiated through these two mudrás are sure to help him – they will certainly help him...
.. raising positive microvita from the lunar plexus to the occult plexus is called “krpá”. And raising them from the lunar plexus to the pinnacled point of human glory is called “karuńá”. Without krpá there cannot be karuńá, there cannot be any galloping jump. Raising negative microvita above the psycho-physical plexus is “rusti” or “risti”. You should always try to avoid rusti and always try to receive the glamour of krpá or karuńá.” (1)
