Those of a materialistic mindset think that power, post, money, and worldly relations are the base of life. They think, “I live and die for this - i.e. power, post, & money etc. For this, I have come on this earth to live happily and enjoy.” In this way, due to avidya maya they pass their whole life in drowsiness. They cannot comprehend this basic fact that what they are depending upon is not permanent. Those things cannot last forever.
In this universe, everything is moving and the speed of movement also varies. So when two people are moving in with a similar speed then they are called a family. But no two persons can maintain a similar speed for long. Either one moves away, dies, divorces, or their liking or disliking changes. What they formerly cherished has now become useless in their eyes.
That is why nothing in this created world can be the base of life. None of those things can provide permanent happiness. Animals cannot comprehend this simple truth - but humans can understand it. Those who fail to comprehend it are worse than animals. The bottom line is that the Eternal Entity Parama Purusa alone is the base of life. He was with you, He is with you, and He will always be with you up to eternity. So when you have one Entity who always remains with You then why not cultivate a close and intimate relation with that Supreme Entity. That will signify the start of gaining the real meaning and fulfillment of life.
Ananda Marga ideology states, "That which is finite cannot be the base of your life, because it will be used up and will leave your mind unsheltered. Thrusting you in the abyss of darkness, it will pursue its course on the unending path. Therefore, no one except Brahma, the beginningless, endless and infinite can be the object of your mind and the base of your life.” (1)

तब तुमने मुझे उठाकर गोद में बैठाया और साधना सिखाई।
प्रभात संगीत 1037 काछे एशे दूरे सारे गेले केनो...
परिचय - इस गीत में भक्त सीधे ही प्रभु को शिकायत कर रहा है कि वे उससे दूर क्यों चले गये? पर इसका मतलब यह नहीं है कि परमपुरुष सचमुच में भक्त से किसी दूर के स्थान पर चले गये हैं। वरन् यह तो आमने सामने हो रही वार्ता है जिसमें भक्त अनुभव करता है कि परम पुरुष उसे और अधिक प्रेम नहीं करते हैं। इसलिये यह तो एक प्रेम भरी लड़ाई है जिसमें प्रेम पूर्वक शिकायत की जा रही है कि अब तुम मुझे प्रेम क्यों नहीं करते। वे लोग जो आध्यात्म के सूक्ष्म पक्षों को नहीं समझते या भक्ति की गहराई में नहीं पहुंचे हैं वे इसे नहीं समझ सकते। इसीलिये वे समझते हैं कि सचमुच बाबा कहीं चले गये हैं और वे इसे महाप्रयाण गीत के रूप में प्रस्तुत करते हैं। परमपुरुष के साथ यह आभ्यान्तरिक प्यार भरी शिकायत करने का स्वाभाविक वार्तालाप कैसे होता है वे नहीं जान पाते।
भावार्थ
हे परमपुरुष! बाबा तुमने मेरे पास आने की कृपा की परंतु फिर तुम दूर क्यों चले गये? मैं , तुम्हारी इस दया- करुणाहीनता से घायल हो गया हॅूं , बड़ा ही दुखित हॅूं। तुम मेरे सामने खड़े थे और फिर छिपते चले गये। मुझे आश्चर्य में हूँ कि तुम्हें मेरे लिये थोड़ी सी भी ममता है क्या? पहले जब मैं साधना के पथ पर नहीं था, धूल में पड़ा था, तब तुमने मुझे उठाकर गोद में बैठाया और साधना सिखाई। तुमने मुझे कृपापूर्वक प्रेमाशीष दिया। तुम मेरे ध्यान साधना में रोज आया करते थे, सब कुछ सरलता से आगे बढ़ रहा था, पर अब मेरा मन सूख गया है और तुम मेरी साधना में नहीं आ रहे हो। इस आध्यात्मिक पथ पर चलने में मैं अनेक कठिनाइयों का सामना कर रहा हॅूं, और तुम चुपचाप देख रहे हो क्यों? तुम दूर चले गये , अब मेरे लिये क्या तुम्हारे मन में कोई ममता नहीं है?
धूल में पड़ा था, तब तुमने मुझे उठाकर गोद में उठाया और साधना सिखाई।
यह मुझे असहनीय लगता है कि तुम मेरे इतने निकट थे और अब तुम ने मुझे छोड़ दिया। क्या तुम्हें मेरे लिये पहले जैसा प्रेम नहीं है। तुम्हारी यह दया- करुणाहीनता मेरे अंग प्रत्यंग को कष्ट दे रही है।
हेे दिव्य सत्ता! तुमने मुझे सीढ़ी से पेड़ के शिखर पर चढ़ाया, बाद में मेरे पैरों के नीचे से सीढ़ी क्यों हटा लिया? तुमने मुझे माया से जीतने के लिये और भक्ति को द्रढ़ करने कि लिये अनेक विधियाॅं सिखाईं पर वे कोई काम की नहीं हैं क्योंकि मैं साधना में अपने मन को ही केन्द्रित नहीं कर पा रहा हॅूं। तुमने अमरत्व का फल मेरी हथेली पर रखकर बाद में उस फल को नदी के जल प्रवाह में क्यों फेक दिया? तुमने मुझे सिखाया था कि आध्यात्म ही मानव जीवन का मूल आधार है, मेरा मन तुमने उसी ओर ढाल दिया था, पर अब तो सब कुछ भिन्न है, मैं तो भौतिकता में डूब गया हॅूं , और तुमने आध्यात्म की मधुर स्पर्श जो पहले मुझे दी थी, अब क्यों छीन ली है? क्या यह वैसा ही नहीं है कि तुमने बसंत में फूल की कलियाॅं खिलाई, और फिर ग्रीष्म की गरम हवा में उन्हें जला दिया?
तुमने मेरे पास आने की कृपा की, पर बाद में मेरी साधना से क्यों दूर हो गये? मुझे तुम्हारी इस दया- करुणाहीनता से बहुत आघात पहॅुंचा है।
बाबा, हे परमपुरुष! तुमने मेरा कपूर का जलता हुआ दीपक बुझा दिया है, जिसके काजल का चिन्ह अभी भी शेष है. तुमने मेरे दुःखी मन की मधुरता छीन ली है। वह मृतक की तरह हो चुका है । मेरे भक्तिविहीन जीवन में अब कोई रस नहीं है। हे बाबा! हर समय तुम्हारी कृपा की याचना कर रहा हूँ , जिससे मैं तुम्हारे भाव में मिल सकॅूं ।
बाबा! यह सोचकर बड़ा दुख होता है कि पहले तुम कितने पास थें पर अब नहीं। क्या अब तुम्हें मेरे लिये थोड़ा सा भी प्रेम नहीं है? ओह! तुम्हारी दया- करुणाहीनता मुझे कितना कष्ट दे रही है।

ममताः- अर्थात् किसी को अपने बराबर या अपने से अधिक प्रेम करना। माॅं अपनी संतान को अपने से भी अधिक चाहती है।
ममता = मम + ता । मम का अर्थ है मेरा, और ममता का अर्थ हुआ अपनापन या ममत्व, मेरा ही। जैसे , यदि आप अस्वस्थ हैं तो आप केवल अपने तक ही चिंतित रहेंगे और दवा आदि लेनें के लिये डाक्टर के पास जायेंगे, परंतु यदि आपकी ममता किसी मित्र या रिश्तेदार के प्रति है तो उसके अस्वस्थ होने पर आप उसके प्रति उतने ही चिंतित रहेंगे। साधना करने से मन की परिधि बढ़ने लगती है और धीरे धीरे उसका इतना विस्तार हो जाता है कि अपने ही नहीं पराये भी अपनी ममता की सीमा के भीतर आ जाते हैं । साधना के उच्च स्तर पर पूरा ब्रह्माॅंड ही ममता में भर जाता है। परमपुरुष की ममता प्रत्येक अस्तित्व के साथ है, पूरी स्रष्टि के साथ होती है।

Every margii family - every margii parent - hopes for their children to become dedicated and committed Ananda Margiis. This is the central aim and goal for every parent. To that end while raising the child they do so many things. They sing kiirtan to the young infant, raise the child as a vegetarian, bring the child to dharmacakra, and so much sharing and teaching is done about Ananda Marga in order to guide the precious child onto the path of dharma.
And again, the overall goal is to make that child into a committed Ananda Margii. And by His grace, that child will become a great sadhaka. But if it does not happen that does not mean that those margii parents held a different agenda. All along, their singular aim was to make that child into a dedicated Ananda Margii.
Likewise, the goal of every hospital is to cure every patient; but along the way some patients invariably die. But that does not mean that the hospital’s goal was to kill those patients. But some people think that, "No, the goal of the hospital was to kill those patients."
Similarly, the goal of every student is to pass their examination; but invariably there are many who fail. But that does not mean that the goal of those students was to fail that examination. But some people think that, "No, the goal of those students was to fail the examination."
In the same way, the goal of every Ananda Marga children’s home is to create Wts. Those kids are raised with this ideal in mind. Yet if it does not come to fruition that does not mean our Ananda Marga children’s homes do not have the goal to create Wts. But some people think that, "No, the goal of those children’s homes is not to create Wts."
So with regards to our children’s homes, no matter what those boys and girls proceed to do in life, all along the only aim was to raise those kids to be wholetime workers of Ananda Marga.
