Pervasive problem: superstition + 3 more

Baba

Pervasive problem: superstition

Namaskar,

The entire world, more or less, is affected by superstition; it is everywhere, in various shapes and forms. In some places certain events are deemed as auspicious, and in other places that same occurrence is inauspicious. In the past, superstition retarded the progress of society. Now, around the globe, educated people are giving up their superstitions.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Baba has given Ananda Marga philosophy based on logic and reasoning. By that way, the general society should be educated so that they can understand the “hows” and “whys” behind every happening. Then slowly, all these superstitions will die.

Ananda Marga philosophy discards all sorts of superstitions, but, unfortunately, in AMPS, a few superstitions have taken root. Here is a partial list.

Examples of superstitions in AMPS

Here are some of the reigning superstitions in our AMPS nowadays:
(a) If you are born in a particular caste then you will be in central office.
(b) If your mother tongue is of a particular language then only can you govern a unified AMPS.
(c) If you are born in a particular country then you can get a top or key post like SS or central.
(d) If you are born as a certain gender then you have to be subservient to the other gender.

Ananda Marga philosophy does not support the above or any superstitions. But the organisation AMPS, which is made to propagate Ananda Marga philosophy, is slowly drowning in superstition. We have to be alert. Now please see what Baba says about superstition.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Superstition feeds itself

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "Fighting against superstition: The svabháva [natural tendency] of mind is to become like its object. Superstition of any kind – social, psychic or spiritual – influences the mind to such an extent that the mind, due to its worries, leads a person into trouble. The mental equilibrium of one believing in superstition is disturbed, and the result is that one not only loses peace, but one is also led to do some action which is detrimental to oneself. This only further strengthens belief in superstition. Any ordinary incident is magnified and attributed to some durlakśańa, or bad omen, by the believers of superstition." (1)

Superstition: nothing becomes something

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "It is only because of the mind’s nature to become like its object that people see ghosts, which are purely the mental creation of those who believe in this superstition. If only these persons had the courage and mental strength to catch the ghost, they would very soon realize that their mistake was believing nothing to be something." (2)

Superstition unsettles the mind

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "Superstitions have not left any field uncontaminated. In the social sphere there is no dearth of superstitions. Witchcraft, discrimination against widows, etc., are curses in society only due to such superstitions. In the psychic sphere there are deep-rooted superstitions such as the belief in ghosts (bhút), etc. Not only this, but superstitions related to shráddha [funeral ceremonies], etc., have also bound down even the progeny of a person. In the spiritual field, also, ignorant people have been forced to do many things only because of the deep-rooted superstition of heaven and hell. All these only disturb psychic equilibrium and bring about discord and worry in society. For the preservation of peace, the fight against superstition is of prime importance." (3)

Conclusion

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "In Ananda Marga none of these superstitions have been given any place. In the social field witchcraft has been discredited as only a psychic creation of some kusaḿskárii [evil] person. Widows have been given the same status as unmarried women, there being no restrictions on their dress, behaviour, living, etc. Exercising any influence on widows [to compel them] to adopt a particular pattern of life based on the social superstition of disallowing their presence in social functions, is strictly prohibited." (4)

Now as disciples of Baba it is our duty to open the eyes of superstitious people with the magic stick of Ananda Marga spiritual ideology and make everyone realise that superstition is baseless and bogus.

Namaskar,

Next please read the below colourful article that describes how superstition is all-pervading in the general Indian society. Rich or poor, highly educated or illiterate, most of the population is drowned in superstition up to their neck.

Indian scientists drowned in superstition

In India, religion and the accompanying ceremonies and rituals are all encompassing and pervade every sphere of life - be it business, politics, launch of a film or even the launch of a satellite.

It may be a coincidence, but the launch of India’s first Mars orbiter Mission, named Mangalyaan (after Mars) fell on a Mangalvaar or Tuesday (November 5), the day of Mars, known as Mangala in Indian astronomy.

A day earlier, on November 4, Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Chairman K Radhakrishnan offered pujas (worship) at Tirupati Venkateshwara temple, the popular South Indian temple, about 100 kms from the launch pad at Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota.

He was just carrying on a tradition followed by his predecessor G Madhavan Nair, who visited the temple just before every satellite launch.  Rocket science and religion go hand-in-hand among many Indian scientists.

Religion also plays a big role in trade, business and the stock market. On November 3, the “muhurat” trading session will be conducted for 75 minutes on leading bourses National Stock Exchange and Bombay Stock Exchange, to pay obeisance to Lakshmi, the Hindu goddess of wealth and prosperity. It also marks the New Year for traders as per the Hindu calendar.

It is believed that “Muhurat’ is an auspicious time where the planets align themselves in such a way that the task you perform during this time duration, becomes fruitful and without the influences of evil forces. So trading in the stock market during the Diwali day, the festival of light, one of the biggest festivals of India, is held at a specific muhurat time (auspicious moment).

It is a tradition to trade during the Muhurat. Trading on this day, which is also the day when the Hindu financial year begins, is considered to bring blessings for the year ahead. The stock market trade at Bombay Stock exchange, Asia’s first stock exchange, is dominated by the Gujarati community. Stock brokers' offices wear an ethnic look with traditional folk decorations. The time for Muhurat trading changes every year. The auspicious time is decided in accordance with Hindu astronomy.

Trading done on this day is only symbolic and is more for traditional and religious reasons. Brokers and investors make token investments and usually hold the stock for a year or so.

In Indian films, including films in all the languages of India, the muhurat shot is the first shot (take) of a film marking the commencement of the film. It is preceded by a pooja (worship).

Politicians too begin their election campaign by first visiting the prominent place of worship in their constituency, despite the criminal and corruption charges against many of them. Sometimes they visit more than one place of worship of different religions.

Even marriages are sanctified by the priest at an auspicious time. It is believed that a favorable time assures prosperity in your marriage and love, and so you become and remain happy in your marital life. The auspicious time is mentioned in the wedding invitation, so that the invitees arrive in time to bless the couple.

There is also an auspicious time for most activities and events, such as embarking on a major journey, taking a new job and house warming, which are accompanied by ceremonies and rituals. Some calendars and diaries carry the details of auspicious timings for every day of the year.

The neighboring country of Nepal, comprised largely of Hindus, shares many similar customs, rituals and ceremonies with India.   Ganesh, the elephant-faced god of good luck and prosperity is the object of the most prayers in India and Nepal. (Courtesy of The Media Project (dot) org)

Superstition in sports in the US

~ Courtesy of Wikipedia ~

Here are some superstitions in US sports:
(a) The coach of a basketball team demands that his players eat the same meal of steak and salmon before every game.
(b) Some coaches wear the same sweater every game without washing it during a winning streak.
(c) Some players demand that their sandwich be cut the exact same way diagonally during their pre-game meal.
(d) Some players will not shave so long as the team wins.

From Wikipedia: "People are more likely to attribute an event to a superstitious cause if it is negative than positive. This is called negative agency bias. Boston Red Sox fans, for instance, attributed the failure of their team to win the world series for 86 years to the curse of the bambino [Babe Ruth], a curse placed on the team for trading Babe Ruth to the New York Yankees so that the team owner could fund a Broadway musical." In US 50% of population is superstitious

If you knock on wood when you say something presumptuous or freak out when you see a broken mirror, you’re not alone — Americans are still very superstitious. Here’s why. (Image: Nadeen Nakib for Yahoo Health/iStock)

They may seem old-fashioned, but superstitions are still alive and well, according to a new survey. Crowdsourcing website Ranker.com polled 18,000 people on the superstitions they believe in and found that, as a whole, people are still very superstitious.

Here are the top 10 most widely believed superstitions, per the survey:
1. Knocking on wood
2. Wishing on a star
3. Breaking a mirror
4. Four-leaf clover
5. Bad news comes in threes
6. Don’t open an umbrella inside
7. Lucky penny
8. Beginner’s luck
9. Saying “bless you” when someone sneezes
10. Wishing on a wishbone

The top superstitions also varied by age and gender: Women ranked tossing salt over your left shoulder after you spill it as one of their top superstitions, while men and millennials said wishing on a star was theirs. People from Generation X and baby boomers said the lucky penny (getting good luck after you find a heads-up penny) was their No.1 superstitious belief.

Psychologist Stuart Vyse, PhD, author of Believing in Magic: The Psychology of Superstition, tells Yahoo Health that superstitions are more common than we think. “Some polls have found that over 50 percent of Americans consider themselves at least a little superstitious,” he says.

Many people believe in superstitions because life is uncertain. “When we really want something to happen yet we can’t make it happen for certain, we grasp for things that seem unlikely,” Vyse says. “Superstitions offer a feeling of control where control isn’t possible.” (Courtesy of Yahoo)

Look towards me

Prabhat Samgiita Intro: This following Prabhat Samgiita is the expression of a great bhakta. What he feels when in a very exalted state of mind.

“Eso go eso go mor manete, sab klesh násh kare álo jharáte…” (Prabhat Samgiita #0312)

Purport:

O’ My Parama Purusa, please come, come into my mind and shower me in Your exquisite love, after eliminating all my suffering. When You appear in my Guru cakra then the darkness, stains, and accumulated samskaras of many lives will be wiped away. There will not by any tribulations; the three afflictions - physical, psychic, and spiritual - will be eradicated. By Your grace, my mind will go into the depths of meditation and ultimately reach the realm of supreme refulgence - satya loka.

O’ Parama Purusa, the world is inundated by the sound of Your nu’pur. By Your call every cell of my blood becomes spiritually vibrated and intoxicated. Baba, please be gracious and remain in my dhyana - seated on the thousand-petaled lotus.

O’ Parama Purusa, Baba, seeing Your smile, all sing together in joy. Your charming visage makes my mental peacock dance in hundreds of ways. Parama Purusa, look, please look towards me - into my mind and heart, with Your gracious gaze...

Notes for Prabhat Samgiita #0312:

What are the three afflictions

[1] Three afflictions: Ananda Marga philosophy teaches us, “Bondages are of three types: ádhibhaotika [physical], ádhidaevika [psychic], and ádhyátmika [spiritual]. All kinds of worldly bondages – physical, economic, political, social, literary, and sociological – and also those relating to agriculture, industry, trade and commerce – all these are physical bondages. That is to say, the bondages concerning the quinquelemental world are all physical bondages in the pervasive sense. Psychic distortions, mental clashes, doubts and confusions, superiority and inferiority complexes, etc., are all psychic bondages; and the bondages of reaction of one’s actions, which are generally termed prárabdha [unrequited reactions] are also included in the category of psychic bondages. All bondages concerned with unit consciousness and Supreme Consciousness, and the deeper feelings of inner anguish due to the non-attainment of the highest spiritual stance, are categorized as spiritual bondages. Physical bondages are further divided into three main types – bhávagata bandhan [bondages of dogma], kálagata bandhan [bondages of time], and ádháragata bandhan [spatial bondages].” (1)

What is Bhávagata bandhan affliction

Ananda Marga philosophy says, “Bhávagata bandhan afflicts human beings the most. If an idea is imposed on human beings as a dogma, crushing the victim under its heavy weight, people realize that a tormenting bondage has been imposed on them. They well understand that the dogma has immobilized them, caused retardation instead of progress, and brought them to a virtual standstill. They realize that what they considered to be dharma was actually nothing but a colourful procession of various superstitions, and lest they raise their heads against those superstitions and smash that house of cards built on quicksand, certain ideas are constantly whispered into their ears: “You shouldn’t do this, you shouldn’t do that – it will bring about your ruin. If you do that, you will be doomed to hell, or if you do this, your tongue will fall off.” People realize that their voices against dogma have thus been silenced by injecting fear complexes into their minds, and that they have been reduced to useless lumps of cow-dung. Nevertheless, since they lack proper initiative and drive, they willingly surrender themselves to fate, and accept their helpless shedding of tears as their appointed lot in life.” (2)

What is kálagata bandhan affliction

Ananda Marga philosophy guides us, “With changes in the time factor, the temporal bondages also change their condition in different circumstances; and with the changes in the spatial factors, the spatial bondages change their condition also. When people’s feelings are deeply wounded, they decide to leave the state, the country, or the society, just to remove these bondages, and when there is no other way out, they decide to leave the world by committing suicide.”

“By adopting a sublime ideology in personal life, one can overcome all psychic afflictions. One should give up all those factors which are the causes of mental affliction in collective life, and at the same time, promote universal ideas.”

“And spiritual bondage means, “Though Parama Puruśa is my own property, exclusively my own, why am I not able to merge my life in the Cosmic life, to touch the core of my heart to the core of His heart, to blend my own sweetness in the universal sweetness?” This mental agony due to the non-realization of Parama Puruśa is spiritual bondage.” (3)

What is sound of nupur

[2] Nu'pur: His divine ankle bell represents the expression of that eternal sound: Omnkara. So the ankle bell is one of the sounds of divine realisation i.e. omnkara. Altogether, this omnkara sound has six stages. These sounds or stages cannot be created or replicated by the human voice or any musical instrument like some ignorant people do. Nor is this audible to the external ear. This sound is not something physical and cannot be recorded with some device. Nor is it the medical condition of tinnitus. It is something completely internal from the spiritual plane. The proof is that if you cover or block your ears, the volume will increase. Only if a sadhaka is sincere in sadhana then naturally in their meditation they will hear these blissful sounds.

Here is a further description about this.

Ananda Marga ideology says, “You know, ghuṋghur – you use it during the táńd́ava dance. In Sanskrit it is called nupur.) Next you will hear the sound of flutes – as if somebody is playing a flute. Then the sound of the ocean, you know? A particular sound is created by the sea. And then, in the fifth phase, taḿ, taḿ, just like bells, the sound of bells. And finally, the sound is just like ooṋṋṋ – the oṋḿkára in pure form. And after that there remains no sound, because after that there ends the realm, the scope, of Saguńa. After that there is the scope of Nirguńa. In the realm of Nirguńa there cannot be any sound, because there cannot be any expression. Not even divine expression, not even supra-psychic expression." (4)

Relationship between sadhana & nupur

Remember, sadhana is not done to hear these sounds. If any sadhaka practices sincerely then naturally such sounds become audible. But the sadhaka should not pay attention to that sound otherwise it will disappear. Because when the mind is concentrated on the mantra then the sound comes. And when the mind is diverted away from its focused concentration on the mantra - and instead tries to just listen to that sound - then the sound will disappear. Overall this sound, nupura dhvani, is very blissful and in a few months of regular practice in a lonely place, any sincere sadhaka can hear it.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

What is call of Parama Purusa & when one hears it

[3] Call of Parama Purusa: At some point in their life, every sadhaka has experienced the call of the Divine. They primarily hear it during a significant life transition. Actually, Parama Purusa calls everyone - some recognise His call and some do not. Before hearing His call, a person’s life was moving in one mundane direction - name, fame, and fleeting desires etc. When a person hears His call they are aroused and think they should do something meaningful in this life. At that point, they start searching for some path so they may learn sadhana and lead a sentient life. At the age of 5 the call for spiritual life starts. Those with a good samskara hear that call at that time and start doing spiritual practice. Otherwise one may hear that call later on - in their teens or in adulthood. In that case they join the path later on. Some do not hear this call their entire life, nonetheless He is sounding His call. Parama Purusa calls everyone - always - but many do not hear.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Ananda Marga ideology states, “O human beings! You are fortunate. The clarion call of the Universal has reached you. That very call is vibrating in every cell of your body. Will you now lie inert in the corner of your house? Will you now waste your time clutching ancient skeletons to your breast and moaning over them? The Supreme Being is calling you in the roar of the ocean, in the thunder of the clouds, in the speed of the lightning, in the meteor’s flaming fires. Nothing will come of remaining idle. Get up and awaken the clouded chivalry of your dormant youth. The path may not be strewn with flowers – an inferiority complex may seek to hold back your every advancing footstep, but even then you have to proceed onward, tearing the shroud of darkness. You will soon rend the thick darkness of despair on the way to the attainment of the Supreme State, and advance onwards in the swift-moving chariot, radiant with the sun’s brilliance.” (5)

Significance of look of Parama Purusa in meditation

[4] Parama Purusa’s gaze upon a sadhaka holds great significance in spiritual life. In meditation, if one feels or sees that Parama Purusa is looking at them, that is a very blessed stage of sadhana. If sadhana is not good, then that feeling or experience does not arise. Ultimately, His gaze means His grace. So if in meditation one does not feel that Parama Purusa is looking at them, then one must request Him to fix His eyes on them. In meditation, if one feels that He is looking upon them, then that creates a huge upsurge of spiritual vibration and bliss. That is what has been expressed in this song.

Beginning of meaningful life

Namaskar,

Those of a materialistic mindset think that power, post, money, and worldly relations are the base of life. They think, “I live and die for this - i.e. power, post, & money etc. For this, I have come on this earth to live happily and enjoy.” In this way, due to avidya maya they pass their whole life in drowsiness. They cannot comprehend this basic fact that what they are depending upon is not permanent. Those things cannot last forever.

In this universe, everything is moving and the speed of movement also varies. So when two people are moving at a similar speed then they are called a family. But no two persons can maintain a similar speed for long. Either one moves away, dies, divorces, or their liking or disliking changes. What they formerly cherished has now become useless in their eyes.

That is why nothing in this created world can be the base of life. None of those things can provide permanent happiness. Animals cannot comprehend this simple truth - but humans can understand it. Those who fail to comprehend it are worse than animals. Only that Eternal Entity Parama Purusa alone is the base of life. He was with you, He is with you, and He will always be with you up to eternity. So when you have one Entity who always remains with You then why not cultivate a close and intimate relation with that Supreme Entity. That will signify the start of gaining real meaning and fulfillment of life.

Ananda Marga ideology states, "That which is finite cannot be the base of your life, because it will be used up and will leave your mind unsheltered. Thrusting you in the abyss of darkness, it will pursue its course on the unending path. Therefore, no one except Brahma, the beginningless, endless and infinite can be the object of your mind and the base of your life.” (1)

In Him,
Dhrti

Reason some animals can do sadhana

Ananda Marga ideology says, "In certain animals like dogs and monkeys, the 'doer' I is a bit more expressed or developed than in other creatures. That is why in the future they may be in a position to do this spiritual practice." (1)

How dogma starts + 2 more

Baba

How dogma starts

Namaskar,

Dogma is one of the most insidious things that pollutes and ruins our human society. The image appended below shows how a particular dogma takes birth and ultimately gets rooted in the minds of the masses. Here is the overall idea / English summary of the below scan.

One day a person was walking down the street, and he accidentally tore his shoes. In frustration, he threw that ripped pair of shoes up in the air, and they got stuck on a tree branch; those shoes were just hanging from that tree. Then he attached a note there as well which stated that if anyone hangs their shoes from this tree then they will immediately gain full control over their wife. After reading that note, numerous husbands who had marital problems began hanging their shoes from that very same tree. Now that tree is completely filled with old shoes.

The above tale perfectly embodies how so many dogmas have been imposed on this earth, most notably by the various religions. Baba's below guideline demonstrates this.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "You all know that the most detrimental thing for human society and human progress is dogma. What is dogma? Where there is no logic, where there is no support of intellectuality, where there is no debate and free discussion, but there is only a severe imposition forcing people to accept something, there is dogma. What type of people preach this sort of dogma? The answer is: the blind followers of religion." (1)

In conclusion, Baba guides us that we are to be very strict and vigilant to outrightly reject all dogmas and establish human thought and erudition in a higher realm that is 100% from all dogmas.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Baba says, "You boys, you girls, you the spiritual aspirants, must always remember that you must never surrender at the altar of dogma. In the past, dogma committed so many nuisances, dogma created so many fissiparous tendencies in this human society. Your slogan should be “Dogma – No more! Dogma – No more!” Establish yourselves above the boundaries of dogma, and be established in the excellence of human glory." (2)

in Him,
Purusottoma

Why no well irrigation

Prout philosophy poses the query: "Question – What are the drawbacks of well irrigation?"

Prout philosophy states: "Answer – Well irrigation causes the level of the water table to go down until the subterranean flow of water eventually dries up. Shortages of water due to well irrigation are not easily perceptible."

"The negative effects of well irrigation include the following:"

"(1) All neighbouring shallow wells dry up creating the problem of the lack of drinking water."

"(2) Trees, orchards and large plants don’t get sufficient water so they may wither and die. Green countryside will become a desert after 30 to 45 years of intensive well irrigation."

"(3) In some deep tube wells elements or minerals which are harmful to the soil get mixed with the water, causing salinity, for example. As a result the land becomes unfit for cultivation and eventually becomes infertile."

"(4) When the flow of well-water stops, irrigation tanks supplied by these wells also dry up."

"Well irrigation should be used only as a temporary measure because of the devastating effects it can have on the surrounding environment. Alternative methods of irrigation are river irrigation, irrigation from reservoirs, shift irrigation and lift irrigation." (1)

Note: There is a limited supply of underground water. Around the globe, people are using underground water for drinking and irrigation by using deep pumps etc. Using underground water for drinking is ok, but it is extremely harmful to use underground water for irrigation purposes. By this way, the water table is rapidly diminishing and a severe water crisis is threatening the earth.

Due to a lack of proper knowledge, serious problems are cropping up around the globe. Our duty is to follow Baba's guidelines and educate others. To overlook the problem is to invite disaster.

Because of deep well irrigation, the water table is dropping. Plants and trees become dry and brittle. Extreme dryness invites fires. The vegetation gets destroyed. Without trees, there is no more rain. This brings drought which then leads to starvation, and ultimately death. This is the eventual outcome wherever groundwater irrigation is in vogue.

So then what is the answer? How to irrigate? According to Prout philosophy, rain water should be collected in ponds and reservoirs and used locally. That will solve the problem and offer an environmentally sound, renewable resource for our water needs, most critically, irrigation.

In Chennai, one must drill down 2,000 feet for well water yet drilling to such depths has been forbidden by the government because of the inherent environmental hazards and dangers. While in Indore the wells have reached 1,000 feet, but the common citizens cannot construct wells that deep.

Religion vs dharma + 5 more

Baba
Religion vs dharma

Namaskar,

People mistakenly think that various religions such as Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Sikhism, and Judaism are dharmas. Let us first see what dharma is. According to Ananda Marga philosophy, dharma is longing for and running towards the Great, i.e. Parama Purusa.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Ananda Sutram states, “Brhadeśańáprańidhánaḿ ca dharmah.”

“Purport: So knowingly or unknowingly, human beings are indeed running after limitlessness. When knowingly one tries to attain the Great and to that end one prays, that bearing is called dharma, and the effort involved is called dharma sádhaná [the practice of dharma].” (1)

Religions are based on materialism

Ananda Marga philosophy teaches that the infinite desire of humans can only be satisfied by running for Parama Purusa, and that alone is dharma. On the other hand, religions preach that one should pray to God to get success in the mundane sphere. So those followers pray and ask for mundane objects like a cure from a disease, a job, their daughter's marriage, a new home, healthy children, getting a raise, and so on and so forth. A purohit in a Hindu temple, a cleric in a mosque, a priest in a church all teach their followers to ask materialistic boons from god and that is the be-all of religion. There is no recognition of infinite desire in any religion.

The spiritual approach of Ananda Marga, on the other hand, teaches that from the moment one wakes up in the morning one performs Guru Saka’sh, practices a’sanas and sa’dhana’, and spends the whole day ideating on Brahma using Guru mantra and practicing Brahmacarya and eventually going to sleep practicing sa’dhana’ to derive spiritual bliss. Thus, logically speaking, Ananda Marga is the path of spirituality and the path of dharma.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

In contrast, the various religions are tools to fulfill mundane desires using the name of the divine. Religions fabricate a god just as a means to fulfill their worldly desires. Even if that fabricated god appears in front of a religious person the person will just ask that god to fulfill their selfish desires. It is 100% sure that such an approach will not lead one to fulfill the infinite desire. Such religions are not dharma.

How priests / clerics / mullahs / rabbis / lama / cheat believers

In order to befool the general public in believing blindly, the religions construct an edifice of superstitions based on a fear complex. The stakeholders of religions like priests / clerics / mullahs / rabbis / lamas out of self-interest, created bogus scriptures to befool the public into believing illogical religious dogma. To make their approach foolproof they used the psychology of the fear complex and introduced beliefs such as heaven and hell. So, according to the various religions, if a person does not treat the priest properly in a material sense then the person may have to go to hell. If a priest is treated well in a material sense then the priest can help the person to reach heaven after the death.

Religions instill a sense of fear which, being a false belief, is actually baseless. For example, if a store-owner spreads the scare that if people do not buy medicines from his shop then they may get a dreadful disease then all the people will flock to the store. The store-owner can make a lot of money using such a tactic. Priests of religions use the same strategy to befool the masses and make a monetary profit. Often, such priests are found to be claiming that they can rid people of their sins.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Overall, the religions are a business of falsehood and cause only harm and no benefit. We are aware that in the name of religion there have always been hate crimes, intolerance, and bloodbaths - all over the world.

Faith-groups / religions turn humans into animals

Religion propagates outlandish beliefs like killing people of other religions can land oneself in heaven with all luxuries. Even today there are many people in India who firmly believe that no one can step on the moon as the moon is a god. They are in denial of the fact that someone already landed on the moon. For such blind believers, these scientific reports are just a sham. In many places, such blind belief systems are propagated systematically via religious schools. It is true that such schools teach people that one should keep one’s intellect outside the place of worship.

It is a sin to corrupt children’s minds with superstitious beliefs. By using such a blind belief system religions turn an entire group of people into animals. Animals do not have discrimination or vivek. Religions make people superstitious and thereby uproot the sense of discrimination from their minds. This is how religions reduce humans into animals.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Dharma has to be propagated

Many who are indoctrinated into blind beliefs eventually realize that they have been misguided and stay away from religion. A vast majority of these people become cynics or atheists. They have no interest in the propagation of real dharma, which is longing for---and running toward---the infinite. It is thus the need of the hour to understand that only Ananda Marga is true dharma and propagate the same.

Conclusion

The true meaning of dharma is longing for and running towards Parama Purusa. Religions use the concept of god to fulfill mundane desires. In following those religions, it is sure that those mundane longings will not be met nor will that person get spiritual bliss, as that is not their aim in the first place. The priests of religions teach dogma and blind beliefs and impose the psychology of a fear-complex to keep their religious business booming. Religion turns humans into animals by killing one’s sense of discrimination. The only dharma is Ananda Marga and there is a dire need to propagate the same.

I cannot bear this

"Nayane esechile svapane..." (Prabhat Samgiita #0062)

Purport:

O’ Parama Purusa, You came in my dream. Your presence was so charming, vibrating, and attractive. How You blessed me in my sleep; I cannot ever forget Your closeness. Yet, what is this unkind liila of Yours, i.e. Your divine game of shade and light. When I woke up I found You were no longer here with me. You secretly left. Your absence gives me pain.

O’ Supreme Entity, on the one hand, across the sky, there are bright stars. And in my heart, by Your grace there is a flow of prema of divine effulgence. But on the other hand, Your absence means sadness and misery. Without You I am so alone - so lonely. It is unbearable. I cannot bear this suffering. O’ love personified One, please look towards me.

Baba, O’ Prabhu, what are all these lights and shadows - and rainbow-coloured attachments in this universe. Your creation is ephemeral. You make all completely engaged in this everchanging creation, whereby everyone gets extremely busy in useless pursuits. This is Your special play so they do not do sadhana. What a grand liila of hide and seek You are playing with me...

Offering garland

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Not only the gods are fond of the fragrance of flowers; devotees also want to string garlands for their beloved Iśt́a with the fragrant flowers of the devotion of their hearts. If a flower has no fragrance, it has no value for a devotee. One should remember that the fragrance of a flower and the tender sweetness of a devotional heart together make a perfect combination. What does the perfume of the flower represent? The worldly activity which a devotee does with a heart filled with love is the perfume of the flower, and the overflowing devotion for one's Iśt́a is the tender sweetness in the devotee's heart. With these two together, the devotee makes a garland. Now, if there are fragrant flowers, but there is no sweetness in the devotee's heart, then the devotee cannot make a garland for his or her Iśt́a – then there is no question of garlanding Him at all, and though the flower basket may be full of flowers, they wither with the pain of emptiness and the agony of unfulfilled yearning. Then if the Beloved does not accept the garland, what is the use of holding the basket full of flowers." (1)

Mystical link with Him

Ananda Marga ideology says, "Mysticism is a never-ending endeavour to find a link between finite and infinite." (1)

Note: Here Baba is indirectly giving the guideline that in the realm of bhakti one should have a particular personal relation with Parama Purusa. And these relations are known as "bhava"-- whether they be sakhya bhava, dasya bhava, madhura bhava etc. So these various bhavas are that very "link between finite and infinite". Because with the help of these relations bhaktas gradually come in closer and closer proximity with Parama Purusa. Until finally by linking up in this way the sadhaka becomes one with Him. For more information about this kindly refer to the appendix of the book, Namami Krsnasundaram

AM on multiple planets

This is a brief English summary of Baba’s Hindi teaching from MGD 3 January 1979 Patna:

You should depend on the force of spirituality. That is what an intelligent person should do. And since the beginning that is what we have done. The “nucleus” [of Ananda Marga] is a small town and that nucleus remains the same, but the circumference is no longer limited to Jamalpur; it has spread not only across the entire globe but throughout various planets. And it is spreading more and more. Now remember that this Ananda Marga was made not by one or two but by thousands of righteous persons. From this DMC I [Baba] am bestowing Ananda Marga to the common people.

The above is a brief English summary of Baba’s Hindi teaching from  Spiritual Truth Surpasses Everything, V7-14 (E), MGD 3 January 1979 Patna.

Specially for mothers

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "When the foetus in the mother’s womb becomes somewhat developed, its hair starts to grow. The mother may develop nausea. Sometimes she develops a special fascination with certain edibles and inedibles, and some peculiar distastes as well. In ancient Bengal there was a social custom to provide an opportunity to a pregnant woman to eat foods of her choice. This was known as sádhbhakśań."

"Normally, in the advanced stage of pregnancy, women are not permitted to do physical labour. This is wrong. Women in that condition should be allowed to do a little work. (The same principle applies to pregnant animals.) Otherwise, there remains a risk during labour. Pregnant women and female animals may work half of what they usually do at other times; but under no circumstances should they be allowed to do strenuous work, as it may lead to premature delivery or stillbirth."

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "Foods which are highly acidic, such as acidic citrus fruits, overripe pineapples, overripe jám, cottonseed flour and spicy pickles, should be carefully avoided as they may harm the fetus. Bending over in a stooping posture to lift anything heavy is strictly forbidden for pregnant women. Although there is no objection to carrying loads for those who are accustomed to it, they must not stoop over to lift a heavy load onto their heads. It is better if others will help them to lift it up. In this stage of pregnancy a daily bath is a rule, but one must not bathe after sunset. It is better to lie down on a hard bed."

"It is desirable that the best room in the house should be used for the confinement. In certain parts of rural Bengal, the worst room or the cowshed is used for confinement out of superstition. This practice is certainly wrong – more than that, it is a crime."

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "There are many people who affect respect, loudly praising women as a race of mothers, but who in practical life suppress them underfoot, sending them into the jaws of premature death by depriving them of happiness and the comforts of life. The conscientious should be vocal against these heinous acts. We must pay due honour to women as mothers and help them to live long lives."

"The family should see to it that the woman is not forced to walk to the outhouse on foot for at least twenty-four hours after delivery. The delivery room should be fitted with a bathtub and commode. If a girl is born no one in the family is to point an accusing finger, either directly or indirectly, at the mother. It may create undue pressure on her heart. There was one lady of my acquaintance who was unable to bear the humiliation brought down by her family just after the birth of her seventh daughter. She cried out, “Again a daughter, again a daughter, again a daughter!” and immediately expired."

"A pregnant woman must certainly be provided with nutritious food. No constipation-creating foods should be supplied to her. (This is as applicable to animal mothers as to human mothers.) Sweet-pea leaves, or if not available, then spinach, nat́e shák or gourd leaves should be taken daily in small amounts. Puṋi shák [Basella rubra Linn.] should be strictly avoided."

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "All that I have said in the above is as applicable to pregnant animals as it is to human mothers. In the case of the first delivery one should consult a physician or experienced midwife after one month. If one follows the above instructions, death during delivery will become a rare phenomenon." Strengths & weaknesses in Buddhism

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Buddha clearly and firmly supported the doctrine of rebirth. In fact, no doctrine before him had placed as much stress on the theory of rebirth as his did. One who accepts the theory of rebirth is bound to accept the existence of átman also. If the átman is non-existent, then who will take rebirth? Although there is a controversy about Buddha’s theistic or atheistic beliefs, there is no doubt about his concept of morality. In fact, in every sentence of Buddha’s teachings, in every rhythm of his vibrations, his moralism radiates unblemished light, pure effulgence. Before him, no one had tried to illumine the minds of people with the brilliant rays of this kind of moralism. He advocated the Eight-Fold Path [Aśt́a Shiila] as a path of human progress, to lead people from animality to humanity. This Eight-Fold Path consists of (1) Proper Philosophy, (2) Proper Determination, (3) Proper Speech, (4) Proper Occupation, (5) Proper Exercise, (6) Proper Work, (7) Proper Memory [i.e., meditation] and (8) Proper Attainment of Samádhi. He exhorted people to follow these progressive steps, and his teachings without doubt laid a solid base for human morality.” (1)

Imaginary story by B group to justify their point

Namaskar,

Whenever B group does anything wrong they create a fictitious story to support their misdeeds and sin.

Mythological elephant story

It is akin to the mythological elephant that walks in the vicinity of the village and steps in human feces. The elephant's friends warned him then and there about stepping on that spot due to the foul smell, but the arrogant elephant refused to accept its mistake and to prove its innocence that elephant licked its own foot that had feces and told a lie, "It is not feces, but a very delicious and tasty dish." All parties involved understood that it was a lie. Even then up to the very end that arrogant elephant did not accept the truth that it had stepped in human feces. Rather to prove its innocence it went one step further negative and licked that putrid feces.

Example: B group spreading falsehood

Similarly the stooges of B group are spreading this false account in the name of Baba to justify their ugly deed. It is unconscionable. First they printed Baba's photo in the newspaper which is used as a diaper by poor people and now they are telling that Baba became happy when He heard that His photo was printed in the newspaper, even though He knew it would be used as a diaper. See the fictitious imagination of a devotionless mind.

Please read below the false story they created to continue printing Baba's photos in the newspaper, which is used around the globe in the slums and poor neighborhoods as a diaper.

See below lie highlighted in yellow:
"I have seen myself in 1989 Baba's photo was published in Alokpath. The magazine was shown to Baba by Acarya Mantreshvarananda Avadhuta."
The above bogus type of justification is given again and again to justify their wrongdoing.

Yet we know it is of utmost importance to maintain the sanctity of Guru's photo.

in Him,
Krsna' Mukhopadhyaya
