False proclamation in AV-3

Namaskár,

It is well know that our AMPS books are not up to the mark. Bábá spoke apta vakya, and our AMPS book display something else. Here is a case exampe. In Ánanda Vacanámrtam part 3 (Hindi) chapter 17, it is printed that Ánanda Márgiis are luminous bodies.

Sinners became luminous bodies

Those who know the meaning of luminous bodies know that luminous bodies are cursed beings, and are under severe punishment. When they had a human body, they made terrible mistakes, and, in result, became luminous bodies. Prakrti punished them. Luminous bodies do not have all five fundamental factors. They have only three fundamental factors. Two factors they do not have: the solid and liquid factors. So one cannot touch or see them.

So it is obvious that Ánanda Márgiis are not luminous bodies. Ánanda Márgiis are standard human beings. And you know that luminous bodies are facing punishment, and after millions of years they may get a human body. Therefore, printing in AM books that Ánanda Márgiis are luminous bodies is completely fallacious - as well as a bit of curse.

Conclusion

Time and again Márgiis find mistake after mistake when they read our AM books carefully. This is a call to those Márgiis who have sincere affection for Ánanda Márga philosophy, Bábá's teachings. Márgiis should pressurize our Tiljala Publishers to give importance to Ánanda Márga books of all languages-- not just Bengali.

Namaskar,
Shefalii Chattopadhyay

Please see the below scan of the Publisher’s page of our Tiljala Publishers. It is written here that this book is the first edition (1995). In this very book, the wrong thing has been printed.

Shastra must be totally flawless

Bábá says, “The scriptures containing spiritual injunctions must be totally flawless.” (3)

So as Ánanda Márgiis, we must take this very seriously and work together to make the printed version of Bábá's discourses perfect. By such examples as the above, it becomes clear we cannot merely sit back and expect that with time the Tiljala Publishers will fix everything.

When our Publishers are not fixing the discourses, then it falls upon Ánanda Márgiis to come forward, create pressure for change, and help in the rectification of our scripture.

Punishment gone wrong

Ananda Marga ideology says, "And what is discipline? The Sam'skrta term for 'discipline' is 'anusha'sanam'. And what is anusha'sanam?"

Hita'rthe sha'sanam ityarthe anusha'sanam

"When the code of discipline is imposed with the spirit of welfare, with the spirit of development, it is called `anusha'sanam' in Sam'skrta. There is no corresponding English word." (1)

Note: Commonly people think that discipline means "anusha'sanam" - regardless of the motive or intention. For instance, suppose someone did something wrong and was punished; yet the punishment given to that person was done with the malevolent motive of spite, anger, and hatred in order to harass that person, then still some people term that as "anusha'sanam." But that is wrong; that type of approach can never be termed as anusha'sanam.

Unfortunately, most of the time in the general society, punishment is meted out to make an example of the wrongdoer and show others that they too will be punished in this way etc. This is the harsh message they want to deliver to the common people. But that approach is wholly devoid of any type of welfare motive. Law enforcement agencies carry out their work in this way - most of the time. They do this in the name of discipline. But whatever they call it, this malevolent approach can never be anusha'sanam.

Ideal family life is radically different. In this instance, the desire is to love, teach, nurture, and care for the child. So if that child makes a mistake then the punishment given to the child will be for their welfare and progress. In that case, that discipline comes within the scope of anusha'sanam. The main idea is that if the code of discipline is not for the welfare and betterment of the individual, then that is not anusha'sanam.

In Him,
Satyendra
