Baba
How kiirtana got ruined
Namaskar,(a) In kiirtana, it is very important to frequently change the tune of the kiirtana. If one does not frequently change the kiirtana tune every two or three minutes, the mind will run away from the kiirtana mantra. So the tune should be changed at regular, short intervals to keep the mind engaged.

Robot kiirtana stifles spiritual growth
(b) In robotic kiirtana, there is much less opportunity for creating new kiirtana tunes. Bound by that limitation, kiirtana singers use the same one or two tunes for 30 minutes of kiirtana, and the mind loses its focus. (Note: For more about robotic kiirtana, please click on the link appended below directly after the signature.)
(c) To make the mind fully engaged in kiirtana, one should change the tune every two or three minutes, otherwise the mind will drift towards mundane thinking. And that defeats the main purpose - i.e. to engage the mind in kiirtana.
What Baba wants
(d) Before 1990, sadhakas sang kiirtana in a variety of sequences which Baba openly appreciated at DMC venues and on other occasions. That enabled sadhakas to create and utilize a maximum number of kiirtana tunes. And we should follow that same style today. (Note: For more about pre-1990 kiirtana, please click on the video links in Note 2 appended below.)

(e) We should not use the robotic kiirtana which was imposed in 1993 as that severely limits the overall number of tunes and thus inhibits the frequent changing of the tunes. The end result is that the mind becomes less engaged in the kiirtana.
Conclusion
(f) When the mind is not fully ensconced in the recitation of Baba Nam Kevalam, one will not achieve that highest attainment in kiirtana, i.e. kiirtana siddhi.
(g) Robotic kiirtana was imposed on sadhakas in 1993 and still robotic kiirtana is going on to this very day. That is sad.

Note 1: Original teaching from Baba
Below is Baba’s direct teaching on this important point about kiirtana.
It will surrender at the altar of the mantra. और तुम लोगों का जो कीर्तन का मन्त्र, वह तो हम recognize कर दिए as a तारकमन्त्र, त्राण-मन्त्र, सिद्ध-मन्त्र । अर्थात् इस मन्त्र को सुनते-सुनते, सुनते-सुनते, मन जब इस मन्त्र के सामने surrender कर जाएगा, तब उधर भीतर में भी अजपा-गायत्त्री की सिद्धि हो जाएगी ।” (Ananda Vacanamrtam (Pure) part 40, chapter 8)
Note 2: Video examples: Baba approves of this kiirtana
In each of the following three youtube videos, bhaktas are singing kiirtana to Sadguru Baba in all kinds of creative and rhythmic ways, and He is clearly approving of this style of kiirtana.

You lovingly attract all"Madhur mohan tumi cita-rainjan a'cho sada' sa'the sa'the..." (Prabhat Samgiita #3580)
Purport:
My Parama Purusa, Baba You are Mohan, the most charming One, and attract all. You have coloured my mind in Your colour. That is why You are Cita-Rainjan and always remain with me, all the time. You have removed my despair and filled my heart with Your infinite love. You kindle the lamp of divine love, in spite of the hostile windstorm - and graciously remove all darkness and hopelessness with Your brilliant refulgence.
Baba, the great Controller, You don’t have any limitations of time, neither minutes, nor seconds, nor moments, You are beyond all relativities and stand eternally, wholly unassailed by the temporal factor. Time has no bearing on You. Lord, with unique and unparalleled feeling, You come within the reach of the microcosm to give Your supreme love. You have come to bless every unit being.
My Supreme Entity, Baba, You are beyond all logic and reasoning, as well as the analysis of scriptural intellect. You are above all these faculties. You are Alakha-Nirainjain, beyond description - infinite and unblemished. Only You can shatter the bondage of avidya maya - the mirage of moha, infatuation, negative attraction - and grant salvation. Baba, You lovingly attract all; You are the Supreme Charmer...
Notes for Prabhat Samgiita #3580:
[1] Mohan: Ananda Marga philosophy states, ”One cannot remain away from Him. Rather, one has to rush along towards Him, because there is that inseparable bond, the inferential bondage of the Cosmic flow. For He is Mohana” (1)
[2] Cita-Rainjan: Ananda Marga ideology guides us and we all know that bhakti is that unique ingredient which allows one to advance in the spiritual field. Without innate love for Parama Purusa one can never succeed. In His role as Cit-Rainjan, He is that Divine Entity who colours and saturates the mind of sadhakas in the fountain of bhakti.
Ananda Marga ideology says, "'rainjana', which means 'the One who colours' - that which colours the mind." (2)
So He is that Cosmic Being who graciously showers exquisite love into the heart and mind of the bhakta. And by such overwhelming Cosmic grace, the bhakta becomes immersed in Supreme bliss and comes in the closest proximity with that Love Personified Entity: Parama Purusa.
[3] Alakhanirainjan: ('Alakh' means 'invisible'; 'nir' means 'no'; 'ainjan' means 'black spot'.) Of the infinite attributions of Parama Purusa, one quality is that He is invisible and blemishless - pure and perfect. That is why He is known as Alakhanirainjan. Because in this world unit beings are bound by their past actions, by their samskaras, and this creates a black mark in their mind. But being Alakhanirainjan, being both invisible and blemishless, Parama Purusa is beyond the realm of sense perception and beyond the realm of samskara. His mind never gets stained. He remains eternally pure and spotless.

Essential principles for social good
Prout philosophy states, “For the all-round welfare and development of human beings, society needs to follow some fundamental socio-political principles. Without the firm foundation of such principles, disunity, injustice and exploitation will flourish. To avoid this and to safeguard the interests of all people, the leaders of society must ensure that cardinal socio-political principles are strictly followed. Otherwise, individual and collective progress can never be achieved.”
“There are three cardinal socio-political principles which should never be violated. First, people should not be retrenched from their occupations unless alternative employment has been arranged for them. Secondly, people should not be forcibly converted from one religion to another. Thirdly, no mother tongue should be suppressed. Occupation, spiritual practice and mother tongue are very important to human beings. If the sentiments associated with them are hurt, human beings will be deeply affected. So, you should never violate these cardinal socio-political principles.” (1)

TB & leprosy: dietary causes
Ananda Marga Yogic Treatments says, "If any person is long habituated to eating badly-combined foods, such as meat, fish, eggs and similar támasika foods immediately before or after milk, kśiira [a kind of rice pudding] and similar sáttvika foods, then those foods create a favourable condition in the body for tuberculosis.” (1)
Ananda Marga Yogic Treatments says, “Constipating foods should be strictly avoided. Foods which increase the amount of pitta should also be rejected. Fish, meat, eggs, ghee and large quantities of spices usually weaken the liver and bring about constipation, which is one of the causes of leucoderma. In this disease fish and other non-vegetarian foods are very harmful, hence they are to be avoided like poison. No matter how great is the desire for non-vegetarian dishes, patients shall have to control that desire. Leafy vegetables such as heleiṋcá, gimá, ámarula, bráhmii, etc., are most beneficial for leucoderma patients." (2)
