Story: Baba came in dark night out of the blue + 2 more

Baba

Story: Baba came in dark night out of the blue

Namaskar,

In my younger years, during the 1950's, I was initiated by an acarya. At that time I was new to Ananda Marga so I was not aware that when an acarya teaches others then the acarya is not actually teaching you; just they are a medium of Guru Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji who is doing the teaching.

Shortly thereafter, I was blessed to have Baba's darshan. On that occasion, Sadguru Baba corrected my sadhana. At that time, I was also graced with the opportunity to make a request, "Baba, my desire is that You should teach me the entire meditation process. You are my Guru and I do not want to learn from any middle-man."

Baba smiled and replied, "What you are thinking that desire will be fulfilled.”

"Baba is calling you - go see Him immediately"

Time passed. Then one day I got a message from GS Dada. I was told, "Baba is calling you - go see Him immediately." I made the journey from my village near Muzaffarpur and reached Jamalpur as quickly as possible.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

When I was outside waiting to enter to see Baba I had mixed feelings. On the one side I was happy to have the darshan of my Guru Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji and have His blessing. But also I was concerned about if I had made any mistakes. I was not sure why Baba had called me. I had no clue. So I was in a quandary. I could not remember having done anything wrong - but if so, certainly Baba was going to scold me for it. So I have this fear. But the overall feeling was one of joy. I was thinking that whatever Baba does will be for my welfare - for my progress. All this was going through my mind while I was waiting to see Baba.

Soon I was called inside to see Baba. Upon entering all my fear disappeared immediately; I forgot all about it with the overflowing bliss of His close proximity. By His grace with full surrender I did sastaunga pranam.

Baba never forgets His promise

Then Baba asked about my family and how things were going with the unit.  He then said that He was going on fieldwalk and I should accompany Him. So per His schedule, Baba went for fieldwalk - and I followed Him - and He told many things along the way. In due course we reached to the Tiger's Grave. It was a dark, lonely night. Nobody was around for miles and miles and there was no hint of light in any direction. It was pitch black outside. Now and then, the idea came in my mind,  “Why had Baba called me from Muzafarrpur.” Mentally, I was thinking, “Baba, why did You call me from Muzafarrpur - You are not saying anything about this.” These thoughts were swirling in my mind.

Baba turned towards me and said, "Sometime back you expressed the desire to learn sadhana directly from Me. Such was your request and that is why I have called you here today."

Immediately, that memory flashed in my mind. I recalled my words to Baba. I had completely forgotten about my request that He should sit face-to-face with me and personally guide me in sadhana. Although I had forgotten, Baba had graciously remembered. Later on I realized that human beings forget, but the all-knowing Parama Purusa Baba never forgets His promise. I forgot my own desire but Baba remembered, called me, and reminded me.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Baba then taught me the entire process of kapalika sadhana. When He finished, per His direction, I repeated the instructions back to Him and He gave His approval. Baba then instructed me, "Initially, you must do kapalika sadhana for 30 days in a row; thereafter, you must do it for one of the 3 days of amavasya each month - that will be sufficient." I felt truly blessed to receive my sadhana instructions directly from Him.

Scolding: "When you go to that banyan tree"

Baba also guided exactly how to go to the cemetery in my village near Muzaffarpur. Baba told me which path I should take from my house during the night, as well as which left turn and right turn I should make. He told me everything meticulously.  It was quite intriguing for me to see how He knows all these minute details. Because  Baba had never visited there, and He was telling me all those details. Actually, at that time I did not have the realisation that Baba is Parama Purusa. Just I was thinking that Baba is some great guru - that’s all. It was my ignorance those days. So I was surprised to see that He knew this.

Next, Baba began to explain where I would sit for sadhana. Baba told, "In the cemetery near your village, there is a banyan tree. Near the banyan tree, some feet away, there is a mango tree; and then, after another short distance, there is a wood apple tree."

Although it was my village cemetery I was not aware about those two other trees. Mentally, I thought, "Baba, there is indeed a banyan tree, but I do not recall there being a mango or a wood apple tree in that area." Just I was thinking in this way - i.e. expressing doubt.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Baba looked towards me and expressed His feigned anger and started scolding me: "When you go to that banyan tree, after exactly 49 feet to the northeast you will see the other two trees. Nearby you will sit and do your kapalika sadhana." Mentally I thought, "When I reach Muzaffarpur I will see how far this is correct."

No courage to go alone

While still in His divine presence, I began thinking about going to the cemetery alone in that pitch-dark, midnight hour - devoid of any reflected or refracted light. I would be away from human habitation, with the apparatus, and sitting there by myself. It would be a difficult, dangerous, proposition. Ghosts might even come. I was raised in a very dogmatic environment and all kinds of fear was imposed upon me during my childhood. In earnest, I was a coward. So going alone to the cemetery on a dark night was unthinkable for me. I was afraid that a ghost would be there hovering around and it would attack me. That dogma of ghosts was a gift of my dogmatic upbringing. But by His grace, later on, it became clear to me that ghosts do not exist. But, in that moment, I was struck by fear and thought some problem could come. In that case, what would I do? I was thinking it would be very good if Baba could also be there.

The mere thought of going to the cemetery alone on a pitch dark night was terrorising for me. So with reverence in a very polite manner I requested Him, "Baba, generally the Guru goes along to the cemetery to protect the disciple if danger comes."

Baba replied, "Those ordinary gurus do so - but for Me there is no need."

Filled with the terror of going all by myself to the Muzaffarpur cemetery, I made a direct appeal, "Baba, what is the need for me to go to Muzaffarpur. You are here, and I can stay here. Then You could always come along with me for night sadhana to protect me from any ghosts or evil spirits. Plus You could directly revise my sadhana lessons as needed. What You taught is very involved and complex, if I forget certain steps You could guide me."
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Baba replied, "No, go to your village and do your sadhana there. And always remember that regardless of the time of day, all the 24hrs, I am always with You and whenever there is a need, you will be able to open your eyes and see Me with your eyes open."

After hearing this from Baba, my fear did not dissipate completely. I could not gather the courage to go alone.

I express my doubts to Baba

I politely requested Him, "Baba, You have graciously taught kapalika sadhana to so many people who live in so many different places like Kolkata, Mumbai, throughout Delhi sector and indeed around the globe. If all these people have a problem at the same time in different cemeteries - all over the globe - then how will it be possible for You to be in all those placed at the same time to help and intervene? You will be forced to attend to one particular sadhaka and leave the others to fend for themselves. How is it possible for You to go everywhere and help everyone at the same time, in disparate places, when they are in crisis."

Baba told me in a firm voice, "I can go wherever there is a need - all at the same time."

I did not reply, but I was thinking that, "Often, people say like this just for the sake of saying it. But I cannot believe this. I can't believe it. I cannot fathom how He will be in all places at the same time."

Baba paused, "When you see Me there then You are going to believe."
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Baba started scolding me, "You do not believe what I am saying. You will see Me there - You can test this. But there is one condition: You must always start your cemetery sadhana without fail by exactly midnight. Then you will be able to see Me with your own eyes."

Midnight cemetery night sadhana

I went back to my village. The first thing I wanted to do was confirm where to sit and see the 3 trees which Baba was talking about. In broad daylight I went to the cemetery. Lo and behold, I saw that those 3 trees were exactly as Baba described. Mentally I begged for an apology from Baba.

I felt ready to begin my night sadhana routine. That night itself I thought to start going in the night for my kapalika sadhana. I thought I should do night sadhana and follow Baba's system and ultimately verify what Baba said, i.e. that He saves His sadhakas if there is any problem or danger during night sadhana.

After my long walk, I reached the cemetery at the proper time so I could start my sadhana 15min before midnight. I was determined that there should not be any delay at all, not ever. And in that way, everyday I was doing midnight sadhana in the cemetery according to His guideline: I took the designated path, reached the place at the correct time, and sat for sadhana according to His instruction. I was doing this every day. Fifteen days passed in this way.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

A strange voice says to me…

Then one day as I approached the cemetery, I heard a very clear voice in my ear: "Where are you going - why are you doing sadhana - there is no need to do this - what do you want - I can grant it - whatever you want I can grant it - do not waste your time in sadhana - you are quite young - go and enjoy the world - why waste your time in sadhana."

I looked all around but could not see anything or anyone around me; yet this voice was very clear. Since it was such an unusual phenomenon I was listening very carefully. This was a new experience in my life, and I was quite intrigued. I continued to listen. Then I thought that it was getting late, and I should get to my spot in the cemetery for sadhana.

In this way I got caught up and delayed. I had no idea that this was a ploy of avidya maya to disturb my sadhana. The whole episode lasted about 10 - 15 minutes.

Midnight in cemetery:
Baba was smiling at me

When I reached my place in the cemetery, I saw that Baba was standing there - facing me and smiling. As I approached Him to do sastaunga pranam, He moved 25 feet further away. It was extremely dark but His face and entire body were very clear. There was a bright light around Him; I could see His smile. Beyond His figure, the area was enveloped in utter darkness.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

I saw Him and thought to go close. I approached Him again to do sastaunga pranam, but no matter how hard I tried I could not get closer than 25 feet. I started walking towards Him but the distance was not decreasing. I could not catch Him. When I began calling Him, He did not respond - He would only smile. I was running to catch Him, but I could not get closer than 25 feet. I could not get Him. In this way the time passed. I became tired.

After chasing Baba for approximately 20 minutes, Baba again scolded me and said: "Go and complete your sadhana." At that point, I had no option but to follow His order. When I turned to go to my spot for sadhana, Baba went away. I sat for my sadhana and when I was done I returned to my house but could not sleep because of what had transpired. I was happy to see Baba but sad that He did not allow me to do sastaunga pranam or feed Him. I was also not happy that He did not stay.

One invisible entity talking in my ear

In the morning, I left my house and traveled to Jamalpur. I felt that I must complain to Baba about the events of last night. I reached Jamalpur and was called in to see Baba. Upon entering the room, I immediately did sastaunga pranam, but did not get the opportunity to tell Him anything; rather He started scolding me: "Why were you late for sadhana last night. I did My inspection to see if you started on time, and you were not there."

Baba continued, "You failed to do your duty, and now you must start over from the very beginning and do night sadhana for another 30 days in a row starting from tonight." That was my punishment for being late. Then Baba was quiet. He was graciously giving me the opportunity to speak.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

I began, "Certainly I committed a mistake last night in the cemetery. Then I saw You and wanted to do sastaunga pranam but I could not get close enough to You. I wanted to take You to my home and called You, but You just smiled and did not reply. Again I tried to go close to You, and again You went further away. This went on for 20 minutes. And then in the end You did not stay. I do not understand."

"The reason I was late for my night sadhana was because when I entered the cemetery I was disturbed by some negative talk. I got caught up in listening to one invisible entity who was talking in my ear. He was discouraging me from doing sadhana, and I became 5 minutes late."

Baba replied, "That was just Karn'a Pisha'cii. He can't harm you or do anything bad to you. He is just full of tall talks. He has one very small type of occult power or siddhi - a very ordinary siddhi. If in the future Karn'a Pisha'cii creates any type of nuisance for you, then tell him, "I want Parama Purusa - bring Him here"."

Hearing Baba's words, I understood that on the path of sadhana, we are confronted by so many obstacles. Yet we have to fight back and overcome such hurdles. I failed this time but vowed that next time I would succeed, by His grace.

Conclusion

Since then my mind changed and I realized that my Guru is not ordinary; rather, He is indeed Parama Purusa. He always remains with me. Whether I see Him or not, He is there. And when the need arises He will show Himself, otherwise He will remain invisible, watching me.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

For those who cannot perceive Him, they may think that Baba is no more or that He went to a different planet or star. But for me, there is no change from those days before 1990 and now. In the very same way, my Baba is with me, showering His grace and smiling.

Namaskar,
Manoranjan

The above story was told by Ac Vaedyanath Jha - a family acarya from Muzaffarpur who was initiated in the 1950's. The above is his direct narration. I am merely posting it "as is" for your review - I did not add or change anything.

Baba's feigned anger

[1] Feigned Anger: As we know, Baba never really gets angry, rather He feigns anger in order to teach others.  However, sometimes, due to their ignorance, Dadas write that "Baba became angry" in their books and essays etc, but such writers should correct themselves and be careful about making such a mistake.

Plagiary?

It is the accepted international standard and Baba's system not to copy another's work and publish it in your own way. Baba has given a very strict rule on plagiarism. Why is Baba against plagiarism or stealing someone's work? There are many reasons:

1) It is against the code of asteya (non-stealing).

2) Countless stories of bhaktas need to be published. But some do not want to do the hard work of compiling and writing these stories, so they just steal them from others. But new stories need to be told, otherwise so many unpublished stories of sadhakas will be lost and forgotten forever. So watch out for story thieves, and kindly help them not to steal by posting on social media in their own way. If you want to forward this story then attach the following yellow section with the story:

Message of sadvipra

PS intro: This following composition is for revolutionaries and sadvipras when they are addressing cowardly people, i.e. those afraid to come forward and fight against the demons.

"Keu tora' yadi bhay pa's, a'ma'r ya'boi...
A'darshke sa'men rekhe pa' phelabai." (Prabhat Samgiita #3283)

Purport:

If someone amongst you is terrified even then by His grace we will march forward to establish sadvipra society. Even if we are surrounded by the loud laughter of ferocious demons, we will advance ahead without any concern. We will tromp on; we will go forward. We will have the courage to advance with His blessing.

My friend! Why are you looking with helpless eyes? Do not think like a pessimist. Even if the problems are like Himalayan mountains, we will assuredly cross them, with His mercy.

Even if the goddess of fate does not support us and turns her head away, even if the sky falls on us, regardless of the negative circumstances, we will march on holding the banner of Ananda Marga ideology high, keeping Parama Purusa Baba as the polestar. Our collective movement cannot be halted. We will usher in a new era of neo-humanism. The krpa of Baba is with us…

Tied up humans + 2 more

Baba
Tied up humans

Namaskar,

In this created universe, everyone wants mukti, i.e. liberation. Nobody wants to remain in bondage; even animals want liberation. The proof is that if you put an animal in a cage, they will try to open the cage and escape. They do not want to remain bound. When that is the case with animals, it is even more so the case with humans. With a more developed intellect and highly reflected consciousness, certainly no human being wants to remain in bondage.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Humans are bound in three ways

Yet human beings are bound in three spheres of life: physical, psychic, and spiritual. To eliminate the bondages in the physical realm, humans have invented so many structures and machines to shield them from the trials, tribulations, and hardships, and make life easy and facile on the physical plane. And every day new discoveries are made, bringing more comfort and ease.

Even then, no matter how much humans advance in the physical stratum, the physical bondages will never be eliminated completely. So long as one has a physical body, they will be held in physical bondage.

Similarly, in the psychic realm also, humans try to overcome all kinds of bondages. But just when one problem is solved, then ten more problems emerge: fears, anxieties, despair, or temptation etc. It is not possible to eliminate all problems and bondages in the psychic realm. New problems are constantly emerging.

For example, nobody wants to grow old, yet it happens to everyone. There is no escape. And there are so many things in life that are beyond one's control. That is what is meant by bondage. People are also bound by their own reactive momenta (samskaras) and have to face the consequences. Without the complete exhaustion of one's samskaras, liberation is not possible.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Ignorance: most think they are free

Interestingly, most do not realise that they are in bondage; they think they are free. Yet, they are completely bound by so many limitations and inabilities. But they think they are free, just as a frog in a well does not think it is bound by any bondage. Only when humans develop a little bit in the psycho-spiritual realm do they come to understand how they are inextricably bound. And at that point one can start to extricate oneself from bondage, by His grace. Without the understanding that one is in bondage, there is absolutely no hope or possibility of becoming free. Just one wallows in the ignorance of that bondage, falsely dreaming that they are free.

Both animals & humans want liberation

Only in the spiritual realm can all obstacles be eliminated, by His grace. Through sadhana the aspirant can achieve oneness with Parama Purusa; then all bondages will be eliminated. The culminating idea is that the concept of liberation is not some utopian dreamland. It is a practical, attainable end.

Again, both animals and humans want liberation. But animals remain in bondage; and, humans are unsure of how to proceed - so they remain in bondage. In that way, their whole life passes in vain.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Those who want a real solution to this problem should learn and practice sadhana and get liberation. To remove all bondages, one must get initiated, do sadhana sincerely, and attain mukti (liberation) / moksa (salvation), by His grace. This is the birthright of all humans. Without that, one will never find mental peace - always there will be tension.

Awaken: One day you too will have to leave here

Remember, those who are bound cannot do what they want. And maya itself is that binding force. Humans have to live according to those limitations and bondages imposed by maya. Everyone has to follow those rules, whether they like it or not. Everyone wishes to be healthy, but invariably sickness comes. This is a bondage. Nobody wants to die, but invariably they have to leave this earth. Because they are bound by maya. Regardless of their liking, they have to go because they are bound.

So no matter how much you enjoy or are attached to your worldly possessions and relations like property and family, one day you too will have to leave here and go. You have to give up your post, power, status, relations, even your physical body etc, and undergo death - and leave this earth. Death itself is one bondage. You may want to stay here forever, but one day you must leave. That is the bondage imposed by maya.

Until one realises bondage no attempt to free oneself

Until one realises that they are in bondage, how can they break this shackle and attain liberation. A bondage cannot be removed until one understands that they are bound. Only then can one truly embark on the spiritual path. By Guru's grace alone can one become truly free. Sadhana and surrendering to the sweet will of the Supreme is the only way to become free.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "O human beings, proceed on the path of omnkara towards subtleness. Do not run after the superficial, pleasant mirage dominated by tamoguńa. Establish yourself in sattvaguńa and then merge yourself into Brahma. Reach the point whence omnkara has started. Awaken your latent dynamism through sádhaná and devotion, arouse your divine wisdom and merge that pure divinity into the endless stream of divine glory. Attain the Supreme state for which you have suffered tremendous privations. Today you have the most favourable opportunity to prove yourself as human being." (1)

Ananda Marga ideology says, "The worship of Brahma should be done scrupulously, or else you will later regret and bemoan the futility of your life with the last drop of your tears at your last hour. You should make your life worthwhile through your sádhaná. How much can your worldly friends and relations do for you? After your death your relatives may perhaps ask, “How much money has he left behind?” Your friends may go to the crematorium and indulge in flattering reminiscences about you. Your husband or wife may cry for you for about ten or twelve days and then regain their normal composure. Your lot will be only a profound sigh – a record of the futility and frustration of your life. So do not waste your time lest you later have to repent." (2)

In Him,

When cultural artifacts destroyed

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Sometimes it so happens that people instead of convincing superstitious people, injure their sentiments by their behaviour. A perusal of history shows that the antagonists of idolatry have, on many occasions, destroyed beautiful temples which were unique examples of architecture. They destroyed the beautiful images which represented the expressions of sculptural art. All these acts are extremely violent, because they cause severe pain to the idolaters, and consequently the idol-worshippers adopt an obstinate attitude towards idols even though they are fully convinced that idol-worship is futile. As a result, not only is the spiritual progress of the idol-worshippers hampered, but the progress of the whole human society is retarded...Destroying a work of art also results in the destruction of the sense of subtle appreciation, and this is in no way proper.” (1)

Note: From time to time we hear that religious fanatics destroy religious symbols or idols. In recent years we have heard about Syria Palmyra artifacts, and there are numerous other examples as well. There are three detrimental effects of this ghastly deed:
(a) If vandals and terrorists destroy religious symbols then those believers will be emotionally hurt and they will cling more tightly to their dogma.
(b) The mind of those vandals and terrorists will be crudified. They will lose their finer sense used by humans to appreciate the subtler aspects of art and literature. Due to this culprits become a burden to society. They will live in a human body with an animal mind.
(c) By this way the entire society loses: religious dogmatic sentiment grows in the victims mind, and animality grows in the mind of those vandals and criminals. And dogma goes on unabated which would have been resolved by a rational approach.

Terrorists and criminals who blow up temples, artifacts, and religious symbols are extremely cruel and debased. They are animals in human form and brutes; their subtle sense is missing, unfortunately.

In Him,
Ramesh

Cleanliness of breathing passageway

Ananda Marga Caryacarya says, "Dhaotii: Immediately after Nasapana, at a time when your stomach is empty and you are washing your face, the throat should be cleaned with the middle finger of the right hand, inserting it as far as possible." (1)

Since the practice of nasapana is required in order to practice dhaotii, here following is a reminder about that:

Ananda Marga Caryacarya says, "Nasapana: Draw in clean water through the nostrils and pass it out through the mouth. This water may be swallowed, but it is better to spit it out." (2)

Each and every life must be made effulgent

“The first and the final word of manifestation is mobility or dynamicity. Just as movement has no cessation, the path of movement also has no end. In this very movement lies the happy union between eternal ethics and the ageless supra-sensory realization – their centripetal affinity. It is not enough for a person to merely understand and abide by the truth, rather it must be translated into reality in the practical lives of living beings. With the greatest fulfilment in buds, flowers and fruits, each and every life must be made effulgent. Everyone should be made to realize that in the path of movement the Supreme fulfilment is the highest truth.” (Ananda Vanii #68)

Development of AM org (AMPS) + 2 more

Baba

Development of AM org (AMPS)

Namaskar,

All margiis know that Baba created our organisation (AMPS) for the welfare and development of the entire humanity. And, under His Supreme example and guidance, the organisation has gone through periods of tremendous growth and prosperity.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Natural growth: speed & pause

Since Baba founded AMPS in 1955, it has passed through various phases of speed and pause, wherein it transitioned from a state of pause into the next phase of speed. And this type of cyclical development is characteristic of virtually every organisation, company, and industry etc. Even individuals experience this. This is the natural path of development.

For example, when anyone takes a bath or does some exercise, or goes to sleep, then they are not destroying their body. Rather, these endeavors strengthen and purify the body, thus making it more healthy. And with regards to society, Baba also talks about how periods of speed and pause are part and parcel of collective development. The point being that both individual and collective life are marked by various distinct phases: sometimes speed and sometimes pause.

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "Pause means the gathering of momentum for speed in the subsequent phase. If one closely watches the effect of speed on a particular community or the entire humanity, one sees that generally people eulogize the period of speed. However we cannot afford to ignore the state of pause, because by judging what the previous state of pause was like, we can discern the speed of the next phase." (1)

AMPS: inculcation of 16 Points

With the development of AMPS, Baba has followed this same practical path of speed and pause because, in this way, we can learn. If, with His supernatural power of being Mahasambhuti, He made everything perfect in AMPS then how would we have been able to learn? If AMPS only experienced periods of speed, i.e. periods of tremendous development without any periods of pause, i.e. periods of stability and reflection, then we would not have been able to learn what Baba was practically teaching us. Instead, during periods of pause, we were able to digest and realize what Baba was teaching us during that phase of speed. For instance, Baba gave His special guidelines of 16 Points, and then the sadhakas and Wts had nearly the entire decade of the 1970’s to inculcate those teachings. That led to a huge transformation of our AM society. So this cycle of speed and pause proved to be an ideal way to introduce sadhakas to a revolutionary and dharmika way of living, i.e. becoming strict adherents of Sixteen Points. And verily there are numerous other examples of how AMPS spread and grew through periods of speed, pause, and ensuing phase of speed.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

How we learned & overcame challenges

Here the central idea is that Baba didn’t use His divine powers to make everything perfect and keep us in a perpetual state of speed, otherwise how would we have been able to learn how to handle difficult circumstances, as well as comprehend the many teachings He was giving. So Baba has done everything in a natural way. Indeed, over the decades, our AMPS organisation has undergone all sorts of cycles of rapid expansion followed by crises and problems, and by that we have been able to grow. We learned to solve those problems by standing on our ideological fundamentals and implementing AM teachings.

Indeed, year after year, so many problems have come to the fore and been resolved. For example:
- In 1967, the communists attacked, and so many went to jail.
- In 1969, communists of Bihar wrongly arrested Baba.
- In 1971, a huge number of internal clashes occurred such as the departure of the first GS.
- In 1973, Marga Guru was falsely charged and wrongly incarcerated.
- Over the years, dogmatic people attacked and firebombed the properties and houses of margiis who engaged in revolutionary marriages.
- During the Emergency, Wts and margiis were wrongly accused and punished by corrupt governmental authorities.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Through it all, AMPS has survived all these challenges - and grown. The point is that in facing all these struggles, we were able to better understand (a) what it meant to be an Ananda Margii, and (b) what was the ideological solution. Here, we have to note that this was all part of the natural learning cycle of speed and pause, i.e. moving ahead quickly and then pausing in slow periods, enabling us to inculcate the requisite teachings and apply the right ideological solution.

Some may wrongly think that Baba was intentionally creating issues and giving us tests. But that was not the case. Rather, Baba graciously provided us with all the teachings and solutions to solve any and all types of issues that invariably arise in individual and collective life. And by practically understanding His guidelines, we were in a position to learn and guide others, and lead society forward. Without that practical application, we would have been mere theoreticians which bears no fruit. Yoga is the path of practicality, not mere theory.

Growth of AMPS & coming phase of speed

Here Baba shows how our AMPS organisation took birth in a tiny town, survived numerous periods of speed and pause, and ultimately expanded and spread across the entire globe.

Ananda Marga ideology says, “The tiny organization which first saw the light of day in a small town in 1955 – you may call it the “Jamalpur Organization” because in those early days it was confined to Jamalpur town - has today, due to your efforts, been transformed into a mighty global organization. Each and every entity grows step by step due to its own inherent strength, not by acquiring strength from any external source. If internal strength is lacking, it serves no purpose to inject additional strength from outside. The day we started our journey we only had a fixed goal ahead of us, nothing else. In those days we had neither structure nor financial capacity, nor even a small office room. Yet our organization continued to grow and has become so large today that there is hardly any country left where its branches and ramifications have not spread.” (2)

The AMPS of Jamalpur reached all over this earth. So what was once a tiny organisation became a veritable global force in a few short decades. Now, once again, our AMPS is in a period of pause. Sadhakas are learning the ideology with a greater understanding, and in due course the next period of speed will soon take hold.

Conclusion

Baba has graciously given all the tools to build a bright new humanity. As Ananda Margiis, we are the torchbearers of this new dawn. No one should think that AMPS has become permanently stuck in the mire of staticity etc. Rather, each and every day we are gaining the requisite momentum and ideological zeal to usher in a great new era. The pause of today will transform into the speed of tomorrow.

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "There are some people who are pessimistic. They say that the society around us is very bleak, that it has no expression of vitality and that it seems that everyone is in deep slumber. Pessimists say this because they have never made any detailed study of human history, nor do they care to. Had they done so, they would certainly be optimistic, because if they had looked carefully at the symptoms of pause, they would have realised that significant preparations were being made for the subsequent phase of speed. So under no circumstances should human beings be pessimistic. That is why I am always an incorrigible optimist, because I know that optimism is life." (3)

Geological history of Ananda Nagar

Ananda Marga philosophy says, “In the distant past, some areas of India did not exist: There was neither northern India, nor D’aba’k nor Samatat’ areas of Bengal, but there was Old Gondwana. That was about 300 million years ago. At that time, the major parts of Sind, the Punjab, U.P., Bihar and Bengal did not exist. They were all submerged under the vast oceans. The Himalayas also did not exist. But the Vindhya mountain range and its sister ranges, Sa’tpura’, Sahya’dri, Rajmahal and Ra’mga’r’h did exist. These mountains were very high, and always snow-covered.” (1)
