Phallus worship & starvation - 2

Baba

Phallus worship / Shiva liuṋga puja & starvation - 2

Namaskar,

Prehistoric humans were aware that children can be created by male and female genitalia. They thought that was the origin so they started worshipping those two organs and asking for more children. So they started doing puja, and the purpose of liuṋga puja was to procreate more and more and increase the number of people in the home, society, etc. If one sees shiva linga carefully, then there is a male genital, and another female genital. The male genital is on top of the female genital.

Contradictory Practices: Family planning and shiva linga puja

In the past due to ignorance  people were doing shiva liuṋga puja (phallus worship) to have more & more children. Compared to past, we see less children in household these days, across the world, because raising a child is very expensive and people are more conscious. Educated people do not want to have more children. On one hand people are doing family planning, and would not want to give birth to many children; on the other hand shiva linga puja (phallus worship) is being done to increase the number of children. These two are contradictory to each other. Also people have associated liuṋga puja with Lord Shiva. Which is complete dogma. This is the situation of today’s Indian society.

Wastage of milk in shiva liuṋga puja (phallus worship) and Starvation

The attached video clip below shows how so called brahmins are pouring milk on a shiva linga. As we can see hundreds of gallons of milk are being wasted by such practices. This is example of one temple; similarly such practices are followed all over the world by Hindus. We can imagine the amount of milk being wasted on a daily basis. At the same time, we see many children do not get sufficient food.

Figure 1: Pouring milk on a shiva linga, phallus of shiva: Wastage of edibles

Pouring milk, ghee and other edible ingredients is wastage of food. In one side, children are dying because of starvation (some children get food from empty canisters lying in the street, or remaining food from garbage bins), on the other hand people are wasting gallons of milk in liuṋga puja. That very milk should instead be distributed to poor people who are not getting food. Figure 2 shows an illustration of a child with malnutrition. There are so many children who have not gotten even much milk to drink, and their bodily development has not been proper because of insufficient nutrition, and other people are wasting milk in linga puja. This is very shameful.

Figure 2: Hungry and malnourished child

In one of His discourses Baba has discussed about this shiva liuṋga puja (phallus worship). A section of that discourse is presented below.

Many ancient civilizations practiced phallus worship

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Ancient people had to increase their numbers, because constant clashes between the different groups caused many deaths. Fights were as numerous as sticks and stones...women were revered for their child producing capacity. Consequently, the social order at that time was matriarchal and matrilineal.”
“Later people started phallus worship. In that undeveloped stage of society, people gave great importance to the phallus because they thought that phallus worship would increase their numbers. Many ancient civilizations, including the Mayan civilization, practiced phallus worship. Phallus worship continued after the advent of Shiva about seven thousand years ago, and even today people still worship Shiva in the symbolic form of a phallus.” (1)

Misuse of food in the name of religion

Hungry children collecting garbage

In India why we see a lot of kids working as servants in houses. Rather they should go to school. But instead of going to school some children work as maids in homes, some collect plastics from garbage bins, and others search for food on the streets. Figure 3 shows an illustration of two young boys collecting plastics. So proper food is still not available in requisite quantity to the common masses. The Indian government has arranged some staple foods including basic raw ingredients. But sattvika food is not available to all children. Many are downtrodden. This is not about children who are maids in high rise apartments of Mumbai or Kolkata, but rather about those who live in slums-- these children do not get much food even today. India is such a country where the gap between rich and poor is largest in the world. The poor do not have anything, and the rich have everything in the magnitudes of multiple millions. Huge disparity exists in India. Ananda Marga does not want social equality; that is a communist term.  PROUT says “वैचित्रं प्रकटधर्मं समानं न भविष्यति” (world will not become socially equal). Based on everyone’s qualification, there will be some difference, but not this wide gap. Everybody should have basic necessities fulfilled so that they can concentrate on progress in physical, psychic, and spiritual spheres. There should be diversity but not disparity.

Figure 3: Hungry children collecting garbage

Few decades back in the name of Dharma, human babies were killed in the name of sacrifice, referred as “Narabali”. Over time people understood, as well as laws became strict, and such practices are not found these days. Likewise, pouring milk on shiva ling is misuse of physical resources; it involves tremendous dogma. It is the duty of all of us to propagate the truth about this dogma so it can be eradicated from Indian society.

Conclusion

First point is shiva liuṋga puja (phallus worship) is a dogmatic offering of flowers, water etc. The second point is, pouring milk on a statue is misuse of food. Third, millions of children are not getting food to eat. Fourth, Ananda Marga ideology provided by Baba, has shown us the path. It has been so many years now we have Ananda marga ideology, since 1955, and even today such types of dogmatic practices are going on. We have a duty to engage in comprehensive pracar and spread the word throughout all towns and villages. If we had taught the masses of children throughout the country from their very childhood, then such dogmatic practices would have been eradicated. But such practices still exist, so it is our duty to do pracar. So we should highlight this in our lives. At least margis should know what is the reason behind such dogmatic practices, and when they will know, then they will spread the word in social media or by other means.

It should be remembered that no dogma can be forcibly removed. If we can teach students in schools and colleges, then they can logically understand and such practices will not be adopted in future. Slowly the older generation will pass on, and the new generation will not adopt these practices.

In Him
Nirakar

Auxiliary point

How Ganesha/elephant god worship started

  • Once a dogma begins, then people don’t want to leave it, but rather go on defining it in newer and newer ways to justify it. For example, ganesh puja. In the past, it was a social celebration. And ganesha means “group leader”-- gana + iisha. You see, the image of Ganesha consists of a big fat human body having an elephant’s head, and seated on a mouse. Prehistoric human beings made this statue because of the following reasons: (a) The group leader must be a strong fellow. And as the general society was commonly thin or emaciated, so they designed Ganesha with a big belly; (b) The elephant is the biggest and strongest animal, so they gave Ganesha an elephant face; (c) A mouse has massive capacity for procreation, and the public wanted maximum children. So this huge procreation is represented by a mouse. In this way, the Ganesh statue represented all three of their needs. As such, in the past it had nothing to do with God. But when times changed, then the same leader worship became attached with Lord Shiva’s son Ganesh. This fictitious Ganesh was attached with Lord Shiva as his son. The same Ganesha was in the past a group leader; and when later on this became useless, Ganesha was given a new definition as the son of Lord Shiva. And in this way the worship of Ganesha continued. In a similar way to how the social event of leader worship metamorphosed into God worship, what was originally in ancient time a social event of phallus worship, became attached to Lord Shiva. In this way we see that people don’t like to give up their dogmatic traditions and so adapt them to the needs of the current time.

  • Similarly, Lord Buddha’s chariot festival of Puri, after the elimination of Buddhism from India,  metamorphosed into a Hindu festival. In place of Lord Buddha’s idol, now one wooden deity Jagannatha is sitting there. In this way the festival changed to fit the needs of the next age, and in this way become continued.

  • For thousands of years people had been using intoxicants. And later on, they associated this usage of intoxicants with Lord Shiva in order to justify the continuation of these negative practices.

Related Points

  • In rural India there was and is still a tradition to bless mothers with more and more children. This is the reason why in the hoary past they were performing phallus worship-- to increase the number of children. Up until the very recent past, extra children were always needed. Reduction of children is a very recent phenomenon.

  • Though Ananda Marga philosophy states those able to provide their families with all the basic necessities (food, shelter, clothes, health care, and education), they can have more children. But it does not mean that educated people will do shiva linga puja (phallus worship).

Note: Here below is attached one video clip related with this issue: worship performed by pouring milk on Lord Shiva’s phallus. If due to any reason you are having difficulty viewing it, please let us know.

Where to use: see the bright side + 2 more

Baba

Where to use: see the bright side

Namaskar,

Suppose you went to a highly-skilled, certified carpenter to have your furniture repaired, and upon arriving there you noticed that the carpenter was drinking alcohol. Then at the time you should adopt the formula of “see the bright side.” View the carpenter as an expert in his field and have him fix your furniture. Side by side, watch his every move and try to learn from him as well. Do not think of him as a tamasik fellow who is a drunkard. If you think like that you will not be able to learn from him, nor will your furniture get repaired.
http://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

How to learn from them

So seeing the bright side means embracing someone for their talents and strengths and learning from them – regardless of their habits. By this way you will view that person in a positive manner and be able to learn from them as well. This is how we can take work from all kinds of people and help society progress.

Suppose you are feeling mouth pain and you need to go to a dental specialist. When you arrive at the dentist’s office you notice that the doctor is plagued by an offensive odor of onions, garlic, and meat. At the same time he is the top dentist in this specialty in the entire region. In that moment, one should not point out and say, "Hey, you are tamasik and smell like a billy goat", nor should you run away from the office. If you do, you will not get his expertise as a dentist. Thus Baba’s teaching is to “see the bright side” – i.e. recognise how talented the dentist is and let him cure you – watch and learn his techniques, and overlook his odor. Just recognise his talent.

So Baba’s divine guideline of “see the bright side” is an essential component of human progress. By viewing someone in a positive manner based on the talents they possess, you will be able to learn from them and enable them to contribute – regardless what other faults they may have.
http://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

How to deal with addicted spouse

Now let’s examine how pointing out is used and what it means. Suppose a middle-school student starts exhibiting delinquent behaviours, then one should not sit back and “see the bright side” thinking that the boy or girl is very good-looking, perfectly healthy, and the top student in their class with the best exam scores etc. That is not the proper outlook. Rather one should point out the problem – i.e. anti-social dealings – and ensure that negative habit is broken. One has to point out the defect and rectify the matter. That is the special use of pointing out. By that way, the student will be greatly benefited. In contrast, if one employed the principle of “see the bright side” in this circumstance, the situation will go from bad to worse.

That means if someone’s action is harmful for society and / or if a person is under your care and guidance, then you should try to find out their defects, and with soft or harsh words try to mend their ways and not ignore their faults. You should point them out so they can progress. That time is not the time to see their bright side and appreciate their good qualities and overlook their defects.

Or suppose your spouse habitually goes out to the pubs, gets completely intoxicated, and returns late at night via taxi, vomiting all around and passing out on the floor in a senseless condition. This is their regular manner. Then one should not overlook the situation and say that my spouse is so beautiful and talented and is the CEO of the company, so it is ok that they are an alcoholic. This is not the right mentality, otherwise that spouse may die or severely harm themselves or others. The situation must be addressed and rectified. That is the proper utility of pointing out. Then the person can be cured and lead a productive life. Here again, if the “see the bright side” formula is applied – and one just appreciates they are CEO, and overlooks the fault of alcohol addiction – then the situation is sure to become disastrous.
http://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Complementary formulas

Baba’s directive of pointing out is neither antithetical nor contrary to His teachings of “see the bright side.” Rather the two are complementary. They are like two different tools in your toolbox. The sadhaka should have proper viveka or discernment to know which tool to use when. Using the right tool in a given circumstance will always produce a beneficial outcome. Whereas the wrong tool will always cause harm.

Conclusion

Margiis, wts, and our laokik relations etc are very, very close to us that is why we should always help them by "pointing out".  Yet Baba says that even if a family member did wrong then we should point them out and bring them onto the right path.

Our own laokik and universal family members are very, very close to us. So accordingly we should teach them and guide them so they may progress, and / or embrace their strengths so we may learn from them.

That is why we should never overlook the matter if they are involved in wrongdoing. Rather we should create circumstantial pressure where they are forced to become proper and rectify themselves. By this way AM can go from better to best. That is the main point Baba gives in His above teaching. In such circumstances, he does not want that we just “see the bright side.”

Now it is clear that we should see the bright side in certain situations - such as with the mechanic and heart specialist etc - and surely there are numerous other similar circumstances.

In Him,
Tanmaya

Title for eliminating casteism

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "Casteism is a burden on the Hindu society. All the year round they preach casteism but on the polling days they decry it. This is wholly undesirable. It is better to avoid all titles. Titles signify the caste. If casteism is to be wiped out, it is incumbent to discard the titles. It is commendable if everyone adopts uniformity on title – Deva. Persons using a particular word more often will influence their minds with the meaning of that word. People are reluctant to use the word dása because this word signifies slavery. Whenever the so-called low caste people catch an opportunity, they declare themselves as belonging to the so-called elevated caste, etc. It is an ideal to become deva and for this reason Deva title should be adopted." (1)

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "Titles of the present society have undergone considerable changes during the past fifty years, the cause being that everyone aspires to pertain to an elevated caste. The so-called Shúdras also use the sacred thread. This is only an effort towards the concealment of one’s identity. By this means, they conceal only their disregarded status. This is to be regretted. It is consequent on social debility that they harbour the desire for changes in their situations. It is out and out purposeless to convene All-India Conferences or particular castes. All of them desire to assert and establish their rights. This is simply misuses of energy and money." (1)

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "The consent of those embraced must be sought for before renaming them in Saḿskrta. Language has got nothing to do with religion and as such, there is no reason for anybody depreciating the use of Saḿskrta. In this connection it may be added that the great emperor Aurangzeb used the term sudhárasa (juice of nectar) for mango (original Saḿskrta term for mango is ámra) and saddharma for Islam." (1)

So many areas of the globe are affected by caste, race, and communal feeling. Here above Baba gives the perfect antidote and solution to such narrow-minded and harmful thinking.

Monk and Marriage

Baba

Monk and Marriage

Note: This letter is only for those who have reverence for Sadguru Baba Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji and try to learn and follow His Ananda Marga ideology.

Namaskar,

Here is an important topic that is vital for the health, stature and well-being of our Wt cadre. You must have seen some time, an avadhuta and an avadhutika conducting an Ananda Marga marriage ceremony. This letter examines whether this is appropriate - or contrary to the codes and ethics of being a wholetimer Dada and Didi.

A conflict of interest if Wts engage in marriage dealings

Our Wt Dadas and Didis must not be involved in arranging and performing marriages / weddings. Yet there are many instances of Wts performing marriage ceremonies. But this is against our Ananda Marga system and contrary to the ethic of being an avadhuta / avadhutika.

Here are specific reasons why our Wt Dadas and Didis must not engage in marriage ceremonies.

1. At DMC’s before 1990, family acaryas were involved day-long in conducting marriages - not our whole timer Dadas and Didis.

There must be maximum family acaryas for performing marriage

2. Wt’s are to create Wts from our unmarried youths and family acaryas are to create family margiis from our unmarried youths. Thus both Wts and family acaryas are drawing upon the same pool of candidates. In a sense, the Wts and family acaryas are in a recruiting competition with one another. Both are trying to convince our same margiis youths to become either a (a) wholetimer or (b) married person. But if suddenly, Wts are earning money by arranging marriages, then that creates a conflict of interest for them. They will not attend to their allotted duty of creating Wts because there is a financial reward for conducting marriages. By this way they are going against their Wt code of conduct and shirking their duties and responsibilities.  As a result, the number of new Wts is shrinking day by day.

3. At present, family margiis are not getting family acaryships due to exploitation by some Wt Dadas and Didis. Those Wts think that, “If I attend to the duties of family acaryas by conducting marriages then I will get double respect.” But this is the wrong approach. Instead there should be maximum family acaryas for arranging and performing marriages.

Why some wts leave their Wt ship & marry themselves

4. The problem with Wt Dadas and Didis performing marriages is that some become so psychically involved in that endeavour that they themselves eventually leave their Wt-ship to marry someone. The operative factor is: As you think so you become. Thus Wts must not be psychically plunged in arranging, conducting, and performing marriages. That will undermine and threaten their very existence.

Marriage is related with family affairs. It is the duty of family acaryas to arrange and solemnize marriage etc. It should be done by family acaryas. And if there is a shortage of family acaryas, then more family acaryas should be created so WT’s can be given freedom to do their own duty, that of creating WTs.

If someone takes another’s duty, it creates problems. The duty of a dog is to provide security to the home. And if that same work is performed instead by a donkey, it will create a mess. In the middle of the night if thieves came and the dogs kept quiet, and instead the donkeys started braying and calling out “hee-haw, hee-haw”, it will not be very good. By hearing the braying of donkeys in the middle of the night, the house owner will not understand what in the world is going on. In frustration he may beat the donkey for creating disturbance in the middle of the night. And the thieves will take away all the goods. Similarly, in Ananda Marga, Baba has separated the duty. For presiding over marriages etc, Baba has created family acaryas. In this WT’s should not poke their nose.

Yes, WT’s should from the Centre level control the marriage board along with the family acaryas. But for arranging marriages, it is the duty of family Margiis. Due to not following this rule, we have lost many WT’s, unfortunately. WT’s should increase the number of WTs, by inspiring youths not to marry but to dedicate their lives for service to humanity at large.

Against the code of avadhuta / avadhutika

5. Sadguru Baba has given the below rule for all avadhutas, avadhutikas, and Wts:

Baba has given the following conduct rule for Wts-- “One should not look at the face of the opposite sex.” (1)

According to Guru, no Wt Dada or Didi should look at the face of the opposite sex. Yet when conducting any marriage ceremony those Wts are sitting directly across from the opposite sex and staring directly at them. So those avadhuta and avadhutikas performing marriages are contravening the above conduct rule. Actually they are fake avadhutas / avadhutikas etc.

Sadguru Baba has given the rule and it should be strictly followed, but they are going against the rule by performing marriage ceremonies. If our own Wt Dadas and Didis do not follow this Wt conduct rule, then who is going to follow it: Priests, mullahs, rabbis, ministers etc? This code of conduct is for our wholetimer Dada and Didis and they must abide by it.

Conclusion

By all of the above it is very evident that there is absolutely no scope for our Wt Dadas and Didis to participate in any aspect of the marriage process. This is solely the work of family acaryas. About this there is no doubt.

In Him,
Sahadeva

Here below one male Wt and one female Wt are presiding over a wedding ceremony of one Margi.

Here above one male Wt and one female Wt are presiding over a wedding ceremony of one Margi.

Unfortunate Happening

Note: Many times you might have heard that x or y Wt has thrown away their saffron garb and married another Wt. There are many causes behind this degeneration, but one of the main causes is they are overindulgent in arranging marriages. And due to this their mind degenerates. Here follows one example-- unfortunately, recently in North India, in this very year 2016, one male Wt and a female Wt threw away their sannyasii dress and got married.

Very famous but uncivilised + 3 more

Baba

Very famous but uncivilised

Namaskar,

In the general society, the measuring rod for being civilised is vastly different from Ananda Marga. If a well-to do person is going to a fancy restaurant and dining on fine wine then according to Ananda Marga philosophy he is uncivilised. Because drinking wine goes against all rationality. So on this point he is uncivilised as he is not using his intellect. He is unable to reason that drinking wine is not good for his all-round well-being. Plus, on the top, he is eating tamasik food. In contrast, those without money may use their rationality and live according to dharmic principles in which case they are civilised.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

According to Ananda Marga philosophy, a person is civilised if their action and overall conduct is supported by logic, reasoning, and rationality.

In our Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha we see things unfolding in a similar manner. Margiis know that caste marriages and the dowry system are wrong, so if any are still following those rituals then they are uncivilised - on that point. They may be civilised on points of hygiene etc, but on this point of marriage and dowry they are uncivilised. Likewise every Ananda Margii - ghriis & wholetimers - knows that groupism is bad and against neo-humanistic principles etc, so if they are following groupism then they are uncivilised - in that sphere of life. On other avenues, they may be dharmic i.e. civilised, but on the point of groupism they are uncivilised.

Who is civilised

According to Ananda Marga philosophy, a person is civilised if their action and overall conduct is supported by logic, reasoning, and rationality.

Ananda Marga philosophy guides us, "We may call those human acts and behaviour civilized that give evidence of this discriminative judgement, in a great measure." (1)

Here below Baba furthermore describes what it means to be civilised.

Ananda Marga philosophy guides us, "I would say, the greater the support of judgement in action and behaviour, the better shall be the expression and development of civilization." (2)

So those actions supported by intellect and a keen sense of discrimination (viveka) are civilised.

Another key point is that there is a distinct link between science and civilisation. The general flow now is that civilisation is lagging behind. That means that the large majority of scientific advancements are directed toward uncivilised behaviour. And this invites one's ruination. That is what we see happening nowadays with pop films, music, dance, video, drama etc. So much of what science has to offer is used in ways that degrade the mind. That brings psychic degeneration. That is why we say that civilisation is lagging behind. People are not using scientific achievement and the latest technologies in a rational way. Rather people are using such inventions to plunge the mind deeper into pseudo-culture and degrading activities. That is the sad state of affairs in this present era.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Example: so-called civilised people & their horrifying actions

Here below the US political elite ordered the dropping of a nuclear bomb on Nagasaki (Japan) thereby killing millions of innocent people. Despite their advanced degrees and social standing, on this point those US politicians are uncivilised for senselessly causing the destruction of millions of human lives.

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "The vanity expressed by the so-called civilized human beings of today is extremely dangerous. These people hide the cruder propensities of the mind under the cloak of sweet words and decent behaviour. They are more harmful to the well-being of the human race than the so-called uncivilized humans, because they are hypocrites. The defects of the uncivilized humans pale into insignificance before their abominable hypocrisy. The uncivilized humans of the past may have killed twelve people at most in the battles they fought with bows, arrows, sticks and spears, but the so-called civilized human beings of today kill millions of unarmed, innocent people indiscriminately with their dreadful and lethal weapons. Human society of today is being exploited by the so-called civilized people. Such people should not make themselves look ridiculous by claiming otherwise." (3)

Conclusion

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "In the present age, civilization is on the wane due to science enjoying the pride of place. But developed as science is today, if civilization is pushed up again to the top, people can reach a greater height than ever before." (4)

The common misunderstanding in the society is that those who have a lot of money & material wealth are deemed as civilised, but according to Ananda Marga philosophy, most of them are not civilised. The central idea is that when one understands that something is bad then they should refrain from those bad actions, and if one continues doing those negative things then they are uncivilised. And if poor people used their intellect and do righteous things then they are civilised according to Ananda Marga philosophy. Ideal Ananda Margiis are civilised people.

~ In-depth study ~

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Although according to perfect logic the culture of all humanity is one and indivisible, the exponents of isms do not understand this. They prefer to assert that the different sets of script and language, behaviour and habit, and local variations in expression, are actually the constituents of human culture.” (5)

Here below we have a case of so-called civilised, superior committing all kinds of heinous acts. Those with a rational mind know that no one is high or low, all are the children of the Supreme Progenitor. Hence on this point those adopting superiority complexes are uncivilised. Because their approach flies in the face of all sense of rationality.

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Members of a particular race who consider themselves superior to others also very frequently inflict injustices on other sections of society. The expulsion of the Jews from Germany by Hitler’s so-called superior Aryan race is a glaring example of racial injustice in society. In this country, also, injustices on Harijans by the so-called superior races have caused a tremendous amount of disruption in society. To obviate this type of social injustice, the first attempt should be to do away with racial distinctions in society. In Ananda Marga the first step that one takes is to forget one’s race or sect – to no longer identify oneself with one’s race, caste or sect – regardless of whether it was superior or inferior.” (6)

Uncivilised distribution of wealth

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "What we see in the market place and railway stations is the exhibition of half-clad street beggars and lepers – all stretching out their begging bowls, the only means of earning their livelihood. They are fortunate if anybody contemptuously flings a copper coin at them. The old blind beggars wait all day long at the bridge and lift their bowls as soon as someone walks past them. Their shrill cries fall on deaf ears only. On the other hand, the affluence of foods kept ready in luxurious houses to entertain the big guns of society ridicules the present human civilization." (7)

Not indicative of a developed civilization

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "If “a life for a life” is considered an unassailable principle of justice, then there is nothing more to say. But remember that born criminals commit their crimes due to their physical or psychic abnormalities; are not the so-called civilized people who make no effort to cure such born criminals, guilty of the same crime? Does not capital punishment amount to cutting off the head to get rid of a headache? In my opinion to take the life of a born criminal of this type is as much a crime as it would be to pass a death sentence on a patient just because we could not cure the person's illness. It is the duty of a civilized society to arrange for born criminals to be cured of their ailments. Killing them to lighten the burden caused by their lives is certainly not indicative of a developed civilization." (8)

Hypocritical dealing, not civilised action

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "To be civilized means to give a refined form to everything, and it is inseparably connected with education. But if refinement takes second place and hypocritical behaviour becomes the primary means of expression, that cannot be called civilization or education. If a man who is invited to a dinner party only nibbles at the savouries, saying, “I am sorry, I cannot eat any more,” then goes home to devour a hearty meal and later brags that he eats very little, an impression of abstemiousness may be created in the minds of others, but there is a complete lack of straightforwardness in his behaviour. In modern society many aspects of civilization and education are of this sort." (9)

So-called educated elite & their immoral ways

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "However, there is at this time a class of self-styled scholars who want to establish separate clubs for themselves for no particular reason. Is there any altruistic motive behind their demand? None at all. The actual reason is that they feel that if they mix with the illiterate masses their social prestige will be undermined. If you investigate more deeply, you will generally find that in such “gentlemen's clubs” immorality is rampant and wine flows in abundance. Should we, then, consider the members of these clubs to be civilized, cultured and educated scholars while other people are uncivilized, uncultured and uneducated fools? Such silly nonsense propagated in the name of civilization cannot be allowed to continue." (10)

Who are those who exploit

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "As you know, all are the progeny of the same Supreme Progenitor. He created this universe and He created this material world, as well as His living children. Now, when he created the material world, the inanimate world, the plants and the human beings, common sense says that the entire world belongs to His children irrespective of caste, creed, religion, nationality, standard of education, standard of wisdom, or standard of physical, mental or spiritual strength. It is the vested interests, with their mean and base motives, that create disparity among living creatures, especially among human beings. So those who exploit others and want to enjoy this created world by depriving others of their legitimate and paternal rights, are the enemies of society. They are the enemies of humanity, and they are the enemies of the cultured and civilized world." (11)

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "Black people did not lag behind either. True, compared with other races their contribution to human civilization is less impressive, not because of their racial inferiority, but because the so-called civilized races (for their selfish political interests) deprived them of sufficient scope in their development. Furthermore, the hostile natural environment did not allow introversion of their psychic potentialities." (12)

A civilised country will care for the poor

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "Once I heard about a doctor, standing by the bed of a poor, distressed patient, who said in an authoritarian way, “You must pay my fees at once. I won't listen to any excuses.” A poor relative of the patient left the house in despair, borrowed money by giving an IOU, and paid the doctor's bill. I doubt whether a country can be considered civilized if the strictest reform measures are not taken against such human demons." (13)

According to Ananda Marga philosophy, a person is civilised if their action and overall conduct is supported by logic, reasoning, and rationality.

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "We may call those human acts and behaviour civilized that give evidence of this discriminative judgement, in a great measure." (14)

Welcome the new era of sadvipra samaj

"E gán thámibe ná,e dábi damibe ná'..." (Prabhat Samgiita #4795)

Purport:

By His auspicious blessing, this song of neo-humanism will not stop. The demand of establishing one human society will not be compromised. We are the followers of Parama Purusa; He is our Destination. We will march forward on that very effulgent path which Parama Purusa has shown us. In the mundane world we will take help of Prout. And we will establish one human society by His krpa’. The song of neo-humanism will not stop; it will go on and on.

Since ages we have tolerated immense exploitation, injustices, humiliation, and the falsehood of various isms. Now, enough is enough. We can't tolerate it anymore. We will not allow this hell to continue any longer. Moralists of the world are getting united to raise those demons to the ground - to pulverize them. Till today, the demons have been intimidating and overpowering the moralists. Now, the righteous people are ready to destroy those devils.

In the eastern horizon the dawn is fast approaching and the cimmerian darkness of misery is fast fading away. After long reproaches, humiliation, and sufferings, ultimately the effulgent bliss is showering; we cannot bear any delay. We have to welcome the new era of sadvipra samaj. We all living beings are kith and kin, our Father is Parama Purusa and we belong to one family. The property of the universe is our collective property. Human society is one and  indivisible. This song of neo-humanism  will not stop by His grace. Parama Purusa Baba is with us...

Bad & good news: current affairs

Baba

Bad & good news: current affairs

Namaskar,

Over the last few days in India, various newspapers printed false accusations about AMPS. Very quickly, those same newspapers retracted their stories, begged apology, and issued corrections.

Here is an overview of what transpired:

  1. Recently, one Indian pseudo guru, so-called guru, was incarcerated for ten years on a rape case. In retaliation against this judicial decision, the guru's supporters became violent.
  2. After the announcement of the judicial verdict, the supporters of that pseudo Indian guru engaged in violent action, arson, destruction, chaos, and looting. They destroyed and torched so many vehicles, and burned shops and houses. They even resorted to killing. All in all they created a situation of veritable mayhem. In this process, more than three dozen people were killed, and hundreds more injured. The local police could not control the situation, so the military had to be deployed.
  3. In reviewing the situation, many newspapers printed lengthy articles in which they cited the violent history of various religious groups. In that connection, the newspapers falsely implicated AMPS also.
  4. Seeing the false news printed against AMPS, margiis across the globe protested, wrote letters, and called publishers to express their discontent and outrage at the false allegations. After receiving all these communications, the newspaper editors accepted their mistakes and printed the corrections in their errata pages.
  5. Here below are a few of the newspaper cuttings related with this news. Section one below contains scans of the corrections which newspapers printed after hearing from outraged margiis. And section two is the entire news which these same newspapers had printed in the initial phase.

Conclusion

Good people are doing good things, but antisocial elements try to blame righteous people unnecessarily. That is what happened here. Please carefully go through the articles to properly to understand what has transpired, as this is not the last time such events will occur. In the future also, we are sure to see AMPS get falsely implicated. Those against Ananda Marga philosophy will blame us for wrongs we have not done. So we must always be alert. Where there is dharma, there is victory.

Ananda Vanii states, “History bears testimony that whenever a person states the absolute truth in any sphere of life, whether it be spiritual, social, economic or otherwise; sought clarification of doubts or protested against injustice and wrongs, the evil forces forthwith plotted against the person, administered poison, slandered and assaulted that person with rage, misused authority and mercilessly dealt blow after blow; but the blows boomeranged and ultimately the evil forces were annihilated by those very blows. Remember, by an unalterable decree of history, the evil forces are destined to meet their final doom.” (Ananda Vanii #41)

Namaskar.
In Him,
Gurmiit Singh

Section one scans: Corrections

Here first they printed an article that shows how Shrii Shrii Anandamurti was falsely charged and that all said accusations against Ananda Marga were bogus.

Here is a front page article from 1978 showing how the Patna High Court acquitted Margam Guru of all charges.

In the following scan, the newspaper did a follow-up story and they intentionally did not mention or associate AMPS with this negative affair. This demonstrates they retracted their earlier story.

In this next scan, the newspaper offered corrections for launching unjust accusations against AMPS, in Hindi.

Section two scans: Negative News

Here below is the chief example how various newspapers published false allegations against AMPS.
