How Baba blessed me + 5 more

Baba
How Baba blessed me

Namaskar,

Baba has graciously brought us under His shelter. He knows our inner thoughts and worries. He is there to heal our wounds and soothe our pains. And He is always showering His love and compassion on us. This story of Bhakta K serves as a blissful reminder how Baba lovingly responds to our call. It is He who has awakened our hearts, in that way we begin longing for Him, and in response He showers us in His overflowing love.

Ananda Marga ideology says, "Parama Purus'a hears all your internal thoughts. Nothing is unknown to Him. He is like a tape recorder in your mind. You may be forgetful with the passage of time, but not Parama Purus'a." (1)

The life of the bhakta is filled with love, longing, and sweet feeling for their object of ideation. And Parama Purus'a graciously responds to the call of the bhakta's heart. This following story beautifully reflects this.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Bhakta K was in a state of agony. He was tormented and wounded by the notion that, "My beloved Guru has come to the very place where I am stationed and I cannot attend His DMC program."

Daylong, this idea was burning in K’s mind and heart. He was completely upset that he would not be able to see Baba. He viewed the situation from a thousand different angles, but there seemed to be no hope in sight - he would miss DMC and miss Baba. He was crying and thinking what a drama it is that, "Baba, You have come, yet I am not going to be able to see You." In this desperate and melancholic frame of mind, Bhakta K was overwrought with all those feelings of anguish swirling in his mind about having to miss DMC.

Baba's divine arrival

How many minutes had passed it was hard to know, when suddenly the loud sound of a car horn brought Bhakta K back to his worldly senses. Honk! Honk! Honk! The car horn was blowing again and again. Bhakta K was sure it must be some governmental vehicles out in the street. He got up and went to take a look...Behold, there was Baba!

PA was helping Baba out of the car, and now Baba was walking towards the entrance of Bhakta K's quarters. Bhakta K, usually quite stoic in life, suddenly burst into uncontrollable tears. Tears were flowing and flowing as he saw Baba come towards his residence. Bhakta K was crying loudly and more loudly - the neighbors began thinking that something had happened. So they came out to see what was going on. Never before in his life had Bhakta K cried like this; he was completely overcome with emotional-cum-spiritual yearning for Baba.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

His whole life he had served in the military police so he was trained and accustomed to being quite reserved in his response. This outburst of crying was most unusual. The floodgates of sentimental feeling for Baba were overwhelming for him as he cried more loudly for Baba.

Baba's gracious entrance

Baba majestically entered and said, "How are you? I have come to see you."

Bhakta K was completely enamoured with Baba and amazed and in awe that Baba had blessed him by coming to his governmental quarters. Per the custom, Bhakta K offered Baba some fruit. Baba just smiled. Then Baba gently and compassionately consoled Bhakta K for all the mental difficulty he had been going through about not being able to attend DMC. Bhakta K felt completely relieved - his heart was fully satiated by Baba's sweet presence.

In all, Baba stayed at Bhakta K’s house for 15 minutes, and over that time Baba showered much love and affection on him. All of Bhakta K's psychic afflictions vanished; they were washed away in the wake of Baba's overflowing love. Then Baba indicated that it was time to go as He had to hold General Darshan in a short while. In that way, Baba and His entourage took leave.

Bhakta K felt blessed and thought the entire occasion was nothing but Baba's causeless grace.

Conclusion

Ananda Marga ideology says, "Parama Purus'a is not an impersonal entity, or an entity moving far away in the boundless sky. He is your personal entity. One who doesn’t entertain any thought about past, present or future, but simply says, “I have come to take shelter in You,” is sure to get the shelter of Parama Purus'a and will certainly be lifted onto His lap." (2)

Ananda Marga ideology says, "Human beings love Parama Puruśa and He loves human beings: this love is always mutual, not unilateral." (3)

~ In-depth study ~

The year was 1957, and Bhakta K  was stationed in Phulawa'risharif, working for the Bihar Military Police (BMP), when he got word that Baba would be coming to conduct DMC in that very town. Immediately, he actively involved in making all sorts of arrangements for Baba's arrival and DMC. Being a sadhaka, naturally, Bhakta K was very eager and keen to attend the DMC. At the appropriate time, Bhakta K put forth a request to his chief and supervisor, Birju Babu, the Subeda'r Major, or Assistant Major, to have the days off to attend DMC.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Major Babu was not supportive of Ananda Marga but would never openly say anything against the organization. When Bhakta K requested time off to attend Baba's daytime DMC program at the local engineering college, then Major Babu replied, "You have your evenings free to attend General Darshan, so then what is the need to go during the daytime to attend DMC." Major Babu was very diplomatic yet firm in his response as he politely and tactfully rejected Bhakta K 's request.

As he was well aware about the militaristic ways of the BMP (Bihar Military Police), Bhakta K understood clearly that there was nothing to be done to overturn his supervisor's decision. So he was very sad. Then Baba came to his door.

About the sadhaka

In the above story, Bhakta K is Family Acarya Kishunji. As many may be aware, Ac Kishunjii was one of the early margiis from the Jamalpur days. Revered Baba Himself initiated Kishunji before 1955, i.e. before the formation of AMPS. And it was in that early Jamalpur period, that Kishunjii stood strong on multiple occasions and bravely defended Ananda Marga in the public arena. So his contribution was immense in the early days of AM. Furthermore, after 1990, he refused to fall into the clutches of any group. Ac Kishunjii had a distinguished career as a highly posted police officer in the public sector. Acaryaji is from village Pratapsagar, Buxar in Bhojpuri area.

Genuine love for Parama Purusa

Ananda Marga ideology says, "So what should human beings offer to Him? He lacks nothing. When He is the creator of this entire universe, then He is the proprietor of all the wealth of the universe. So what can human beings offer Him? The only way to please Him is to serve the universe, to serve the entire living world, because everything is His creation. During the act of service, lower-grade devotees have the ideation, “I am serving Parama Puruśa in order to derive great satisfaction from my service.” But the higher grade sádhakas take the ideation, “I am serving Parama Puruśa not to derive pleasure, but because Parama Puruśa Himself will be pleased thereby. I am not serving Him for my own pleasure – my only desire is to give joy to Him.” Those whose very nature is to give joy to Parama Puruśa is gopii bháva in the Vaeśńava scriptures. According to the scriptures, those who are genuine devotees do not do anything for their own pleasure: they do everything for His satisfaction, and they get much more pleasure by serving Parama Puruśa than even He gets. You should always remember, Mahájano yena gatah sah panthá. You should emulate the example of those devotees who have genuine love for Parama Puruśa who are ever ready to do everything to give joy to Him. Oh spiritual aspirant, do not desire to be a philosopher, or an intellectual – become a devotee. Be one with Parama Puruśa, and make your existence meaningful in all respects through constant service and devotion to Him." (4)

Plagiary?

It is the accepted international standard and Baba's system not to copy another's work and publish it in your own way. Baba has given a very strict rule on plagiarism. Why is Baba against plagiarism or stealing someone's work? There are many reasons:

1) It is against the code of asteya (non-stealing).

2) Countless stories of bhaktas need to be published. But some do not want to do the hard work of compiling and writing these stories, so they just steal them from others. But new stories need to be told, otherwise so many unpublished stories of sadhakas will be lost and forgotten forever. So watch out for story thieves, and kindly help them not to steal by posting on social media in their own way. If you want to forward this story then attach the following yellow section with the story:

This will be treated as the standard protocol.

Waste of my time

“Práńer májháre khuinjechi tomáre, gánete diyecho dhará, tumi…” (Prabhat Samgiita #2888)

Purport:

My Parama Purusa, I am searching for You in the deep core of my heart, but You only came into my grasp through the world of songs. By singing compositions of Prabhat Samgiita, I felt Your sweet presence. It is Your grace. I do not know whether You are near or far, but You have filled my entire being with Your divine presence due to Your karun’a’.

Baba, I have sought You out in the sky and in the air, and also by attending countless ritualistic darshans in various so-called holy places with heartfelt enthusiasm, fervor, and feeling. In seeking You, I have scoured this entire earth, calling for You in all the ten directions, even venturing out to far off lands; I went to various so-called tiirthas - Puri, Mecca, Rome, Jerusalem, and I also went to Ananda Nagar, Jamalpur, Varanasi, and Tiljala in search of You. Alas, I did not see You in those places. It was a waste of my time.

Baba, today I realised there is no need of looking for You in far, remote places, since You always reside in the depths of my mind. You are my nearest and dearest One. Baba, by doing Your pure sa’dhana’ with one-pointed longing for You, I become lost in Your infinite form…

Beware of socialism / communism

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “By raising an iron curtain, a veil of dark ignorance, before them, they have taught people to chatter a few chosen, tutored sentences. They have confined them within a small dungeon, with its doors and windows locked – they have converted them into owls of darkness. This is the inevitable outcome of those pseudo-philosophies.” (1)

Note: Here above Baba is pointing out the defective nature of communism.

Place of fine arts in society

Ananda Marga Caryacarya states:
  • "Agriculture, arts, commerce and other developmental work should, as far as possible, be carried out on a cooperative basis."
  • "Fine arts lead human beings to the trans-sensory realm; hence sádhakas should not discourage fine arts; rather they should support them, directly or indirectly."
  • "Artists are great benefactors of society, hence take active steps for their protection. For example, before enacting a drama or its translation, enough money for a day's maintenance must be given to the author."
  • "If a drama or other art performance is staged and a charge is made for tickets, after deducting the incidental expenditure, the remaining money should be distributed among the artists, half on the basis of labour and half on the basis of merit." (1)

Parama Purusa is far superior to bhagavan

It is said about iishvara, bhagavan, and Parama Purusa, that whatever attributions ishvara has, Parama Purusa has and so much more also. And whatever attributions  bhagavan has, Parama Purusa has much more also.

Tanmátras & Guru pújá + 2 more

Baba
Tanmátras & Guru pújá

Namaskar,

In the practice of Guru puja, a sadhaka offers a lotus flower. Here is an overview of that process from beginning to end.

After kneeling in the proper posture for Guru puja one should close their eyes, open their palms, and visualise the form of a mental lotus. The colour of the lotus will be the colour of that worldly object which is most dominating or disturbing their mental flow during sadhana. For instance, if one is facing financial difficulties or if one is just greedy for money, and that thought disturbed your sadhana then that sadhaka should visualise a green lotus - or the dominant colour of money in their locale.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Each and every material object has 5 tanmátras, and here Baba explains how these tanmátras are the connecting point between mind and material objects.

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “The association of mind with external objects is established through tanmátras or inferences. Tanmátras are of five kinds: sound, touch, form, taste and smell. The tanmátras are actually the expressions of material objects. The tanmátras in the form of vibrations come in contact with the mind through the five sensory organs. The mind establishes its link with external objects through the inferences [tanmátras].” (1)

Applying the tanmátras in Guru puja

Here is an example: If one is obsessed with gold one should perform Guru puja offering a mental lotus made of gold . All the tanmátras should be of gold felt in Guru puja when offering a gold mental lotus. This creates a very strong and positive effect. Again, the five tanmátras are: sound, touch, form, taste, and smell. Because the aspirant is greedy for gold then the colour of the lotus will be a deep, dark yellow gold. In the palm one holds a lotus that is made of gold with all the tanmatras that gold has.

Applying the tanmátras is the first aspect for performing Guru Puja. Here again all should do Guru puja according to their personal situation. Not all sadhakas will do it related with gold - the offering is an individual situation. Essentially, if one is attached or repulsed with anything, and that thought disturbed your sadhana, then in Guru puja imagine a lotus made of that object.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

For instance:
  • If one is attached to a red jacket, and that thought disturbed their sadhana, then the lotus in Guru puja will be made of those qualities: red cloth, along with all those tanmatras.
  • If one is attached to their pet, i.e. a black dog thought disturbed their sadhana, then the lotus will be made of those qualities: the dog, and take on all those tanmatras.
  • If one is repulsed by a particular person, and that thought disturbed their sadhana, then the lotus will be made of those qualities: the person, along with the various tanmatras.
  • If one is attached with their bicycle, and that thought disturbed their sadhana, then the lotus will be made of those qualities: the bicycle, using all the tanmatras accordingly.

And verily, from day to day, as problems are solved and new issues or psychic disturbances arise in sadhana, then one will make their mental lotus of that concerning problem. In general, Guru puja is done at the end of sadhana because at that time one can easily identify what problem or thought was most distracting in sadhana. But if at the start of sadhana one is terribly burdened by something, then one can do Guru puja at that very moment, and then again at the end of their sadhana. One can do more than one session of Guru puja. And finally, if one is trying to do sadhana, but the mind is just racing or stuck in a negative cycle, then one can do Guru puja again and again until the problem has been cleared.

Reciting the chant

When these five inferences of sound, touch, form, taste, smell are present in the mental lotus, then one may start chanting:

    "Akhanda mandala karam..."

But at the same time we should be strictly aware not to prematurely begin the chanting of the Guru Puja shloka until step by step, all the tanmatras are properly incorporated into one's mental lotus. Then and only then should the chanting of the Guru Puja shloka be started. And the culminating line of of each round of the Guru puja shloka is :

"...Gurureva Parama Brahma, Tasmae Shrii Gurave Namah".

Then one should offer that very mental lotus at the feet of Guru Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji - Who is sitting in front of me. Remember, if the presence of Guru is not felt or if He feels far away then Guru Puja is useless.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

What is mental colour

This below guideline which is highly linked with how tanmatras are to be used in that practice of Guru Puja.

Ananda Marga ideology states, "Any object which creates bondage in the mind has its own particular colour. In those early days people used silver coins. While thinking of those silver coins, their minds would be coloured silver. Today, people's minds are coloured by the thought of paper currency. When someone thinks of an iron safe, one's mental object becomes the iron safe. When someone goes to the bank to deposit money, the bank's signboard becomes his or her mental object... All such things become a person's mental objects, one by one. The mind always takes something as its object, each object having its specific colour." (2)

So in our Guru Puja practice they should all be offered to Guru.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Ananda Marga ideology guides us, "Surrender all one's mental colour to Parama Purus'a, and thus free oneself from the bondage." (3)

Namaskar,
In Him,
Shiva

Black pact between capitalism & priesthood

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “In ancient times powerful rájas and mahárájas used to perform yajiṋas or sacrifices to declare that they were heroes, but this was also a form of exploitation. They erected many temples to hide their ill-deeds, not out of devotional spirit. There was an unholy alliance between physical exploiters and intellectual exploiters. Intellectuals have praised these rájas and mahárájas in all ages. Another form of exploitation is the priesthood. Capitalism will never go against the priesthood nor will priests go against capitalism. In order to create inferiority complexes in the minds of the people, intellectuals have composed many stories and myths. These stories are illogical and concocted to exploit the sentiments of the common mass. One glaring instance is the following verse composed by satanic opportunists.”
Bráhmańásya mukhamásiit váhurájano’bhavat
Madhya tadasya yad vaeshyahpadbhyaḿ shudrojáyata.

“Brahmins came out of the mouth, Kśatriyas were born out of the arms,
Vaeshyas came out of the trunk of the body, and Shúdras were born out of the legs.”
“In the capitalist structure, industry or production is governed by the profit motive, but in the Proutistic structure production will be governed by the motive of consumption.” (1)
