Why some bhaktas were punished more...

Why some bhaktas were punished more -

and others less or not at all

“You are all my beloved sons and daughters. Sometimes I appear harsh to some. But that is for love. If I were indifferent, there would be no need for scolding or punishment. I want to see you all laughing. It gives me great pleasure to see you laughing. Leave all cares unto me. O be blessed.” (1)

Note: Baba’s rule is that when You love someone then You have the right to scold them - otherwise not. According to the degree of attraction and faith in Guru - it is the duty of Guru to give more love. For instance, if a disciple has 100% love for Guru, then Guru must give 100% love in return. Whereas for those without that type of intimate and close relation with Guru or non-margiis, the same     Sadguru has less direct responsibility.

It is just like how parents have more responsibility for their own child than for their neighbors’ kids. For this reason, parents scold their own child - all done for the child’s growth and development. But again that same approach they do not take with their neighbors’ children.

Similar is the case with Sadguru Baba. He did not scold pseudo-devotees and non-margiis. And for those with 1 percent of devotion, He scolded less than 1%. For those with 100% devotion and love for Parama Purusa, then it was Baba’s duty to shower His grace and make that sadhaka better. That is why He had more right to scold them more because He loved them more.

Surely, Parama Purusa loves all equally, but great bhaktas compelled Parama Purusa to pay them more attention. All along the theorem is: Love and punishment go hand-in-hand. That works in unit family life, as well as with devotees and Parama Purusa. After all - to whom You do not love - why should You scold. That is why great bhaktas love Parama Purusa 100% and they the get most scolding.

There are many more reasons behind Baba’s scolding, and those are to be discussed in the future.

~ हे परमपुरुष! तुमने किसकी प्रसन्नता के लिये यह सृष्टि रच डाली? ~

Intro for PS: The following song describes the situation before creation when Parama Purusa was all alone. In the absence of a second entity, He had nothing to do. He was feeling lonely; there was no one. Then He started thinking that He should be many and then at one point of His vast infinite Self, saincara started. That was the origin and start of creation. One should not forget that creation is His thought projection - it is all unfolding within His mind. For Him, nothing is external; the entire universe is in His mind.

~ O’ Parama Purusa, I did not know You are and were with me always since ages ~

“Tumi, je a’ma’r nayanyer ma’n’i, a’ge cinite pa’rini…” (Prabhat Samgiita #556)

Purport:

O’ Parama Purusa, You are the jewel of my eyes. You are my Dearmost and the most precious thing in my life. There is nothing I treasure more than You. Alas, how ironic it is that I did not recognise You earlier in my life. You are the most important Entity to me, and I did not know about You - I did not know that You are You. You are my Beloved. You were within me. You were in my heart and mind - always. You were all-around me. You were with me in all my works - wherever I went. It is sad that I did not look at You - I did not know You were there with me always since ages.

O’ Divine Entity, there were thunderstorms with strong gusty winds all around. The storm was ferocious with the loud crashing of thunder and gale-force winds. Everything was swept away by torrential rains. The heavy rains washed away everything. There was chaos and danger all around. In my life, so many tragedies occurred; everyone left me. Unbeknownst to me, in spite of all the danger and difficulties, You remained with me always - helping, me, consoling me, and wiping away my tears. You did not walk away leaving me behind. You did not take even one step away from me. You stayed near me day and night; all the 24 hours, throughout my entire life. You were protecting me always; alas, I was not aware of that - I did not even realise that You remained by my side. If I had known I would not have felt helpless, lonely, and scared.

O’ Parama Purusa, Baba, You apply the soothing balm on the wounds of those neglected and humiliated ones. You do not leave anyone all alone where they feel depressed and rejected - drowned in hopelessness. You give the healing touch to those suffering in ignominy and pain. You never hate anyone. You bestow a sense of dignity upon those who lost their dignity. Unfortunately, those days I could not realise You this eternal truth. It is only now that I understand, by Your grace

Baba, You are my most dear  - You were always with me - my entire life. But I could not recognise You those days. By Your grace, now I cannot forget this divine truth that You never leave me...

Three Afflictions in Detail

Baba

This email contains two sections:

~ O’ Parama Purusa, please remove all my afflictions ~

Prabhat Samgiita Intro: This following Prabhat Samgiita is the expression of a great devotee. What he feels when in a very exalted state of mind.

“Eso go eso go mor manete, sab klesh násh kare álo jharáte…” (PS 312)

Purport:

O’ Parama Purusa, please come, come into my mind and shower me in Your divine effulgence on me, after eliminating all my suffering. When You come in my mind then the darkness, stains, and accumulated samskara of many lives will be wiped away. There will not by any suffering; the three afflictions [1] - physical, psychic, and spiritual - will be eradicated. By Your grace, my mind will go into the depths of meditation and ultimately reach the world of effulgence - satya loka.

The world is inundated by the sound of Your nu’pur [2]. By Your call [3] every cell of my blood becomes divinely intoxicated. O’ Parama Purusa, please be gracious and remain in my dhyana - seated on the thousand-petaled lotus.

O’ Parama Purusa, Baba, seeing Your smile, all sing together in joy. Your charming smile makes my mental peacock dance in hundreds of ways. O’ Parama Purusa, look [4] please look towards me - into my mind and heart….

Notes for Prabhat Samgiita #312:

[1] What are the Three afflictions in detail

“Bondages are of three types: ádhibhaotika [physical], ádhidaevika [psychic], and ádhyátmika [spiritual]. All kinds of worldly bondages – physical, economic, political, social, literary, and sociological – and also those relating to agriculture, industry, trade and commerce – all these are physical bondages. That is to say, the bondages concerning the quinquelemental world are all physical bondages in the pervasive sense. Psychic distortions, mental clashes, doubts and confusions, superiority and inferiority complexes, etc., are all psychic bondages; and the bondages of reaction of one’s actions, which are generally termed prárabdha [unrequited reactions] are also included in the category of psychic bondages. All bondages concerned with unit consciousness and Supreme Consciousness, and the deeper feelings of inner anguish due to the non-attainment of the highest spiritual stance, are categorized as spiritual bondages.”

“Physical bondages are further divided into three main types – bhávagata bandhan [bondages of dogma], kálagata bandhan [bondages of time], and ádháragata bandhan [spatial bondages].” (1)

What is Bhávagata bandhan affliction

“Bhávagata bandhan afflicts human beings the most. If an idea is imposed on human beings as a dogma, crushing the victim under its heavy weight, people realize that a tormenting bondage has been imposed on them. They well understand that the dogma has immobilized them, caused retardation instead of progress, and brought them to a virtual standstill. They realize that what they considered to be dharma was actually nothing but a colourful procession of various superstitions, and lest they raise their heads against those superstitions and smash that house of cards built on quicksand, certain ideas are constantly whispered into their ears: “You shouldn’t do this, you shouldn’t do that – it will bring about your ruin. If you do that, you will be doomed to hell, or if you do this, your tongue will fall off.” People realize that their voices against dogma have thus been silenced by injecting fear complexes into their minds, and that they have been reduced to useless lumps of cow-dung. Nevertheless, since they lack proper initiative and drive, they willingly surrender themselves to fate, and accept their helpless shedding of tears as their appointed lot in life.” (1)

What is kálagata bandhan affliction

“With changes in the time factor, the temporal bondages also change their condition in different circumstances; and with the changes in the spatial factors, the spatial bondages change their condition also. When people’s feelings are deeply wounded, they decide to leave the state, the country, or the society, just to remove these bondages, and when there is no other way out, they decide to leave the world by committing suicide.”

“By adopting a sublime ideology in personal life, one can overcome all psychic afflictions. One should give up all those factors which are the causes of mental affliction in collective life, and at the same time, promote universal ideas.”

“And spiritual bondage means, “Though Parama Puruśa is my own property, exclusively my own, why am I not able to merge my life in the Cosmic life, to touch the core of my heart to the core of His heart, to blend my own sweetness in the universal sweetness?” This mental agony due to the non-realization of Parama Puruśa is spiritual bondage.” (1)

What is sound of nupur

[2] Nu'pur: His divine ankle bell represents the expression of that eternal sound: Omnkara. So the ankle bell is one of the sounds of divine realisation i.e. omnkara. Altogether, this omnkara sound has six stages. These sounds or stages cannot be created or replicated by the human voice or any musical instrument like some ignorant people do.
Nor is this audible to the external ear. This sound is not something physical and cannot be recorded with some device. Nor is it the medical condition of tinnitus. It is something completely internal from the spiritual plane. The proof is that if you cover or block your ears, the volume will increase. Only if a sadhaka is sincere in sadhana then naturally in their meditation they will hear these blissful sounds.

Here is further description about this.

“You know, ghuṋghur – you use it during the táńd́ava dance. In Sanskrit it is called nupur.) Next you will hear the sound of flutes – as if somebody is playing a flute. Then the sound of the ocean, you know? A particular sound is created by the sea. And then, in the fifth phase, taḿ, taḿ, just like bells, the sound of bells. And finally, the sound is just like ooṋṋṋ – the oṋḿkára in pure form. And after that there remains no sound, because after that there ends the realm, the scope, of Saguńa. After that there is the scope of Nirguńa. In the realm of Nirguńa there cannot be any sound, because there cannot be any expression. Not even divine expression, not even supra-psychic expression." (2)

Relationship between sadhana and nupur

Remember, sadhana is not done to hear these sounds. If any sadhaka practices sincerely then naturally such sounds become audible. But the sadhaka should not pay attention to that sound otherwise it will disappear. Because when the mind is concentrated on the mantra then the sound comes. And when the mind is diverted away from its focused concentration on the mantra - and instead tries to just listen to that sound - then the sound will disappear. Overall this sound, nupura dhvani, is very blissful and in a few months of regular practice in a lonely place, any sincere sadhana can hear it.

What is call of Parama Purusa and when one hears it

[3] Call of Parama Purusa: At some point in their life, every sadhaka has experienced the call of the Divine. They primarily hear it during a significant life transition. Actually, Parama Purusa calls everyone - some recognise His call and some do not. Before hearing His call, a person’s life was moving in one mundane direction - name, fame, and fleeting desires etc. When a person hears His call they are aroused and think they should do something meaningful in this life. At that point, they start searching for some path so they may learn sadhana and lead a sentient life. At the age of 5 the call for spiritual life starts. Those with a good samskara hear that call at that time and start doing spiritual practice. Otherwise one may hear that call later on - in their teens or in adulthood. In that case they join the path later on. Some do not hear this call their entire life, nonetheless He is sounding His call. Parama Purusa calls everyone - always - but many do not hear.

“O human beings! You are fortunate. The clarion call of the Universal has reached you. That very call is vibrating in every cell of your body. Will you now lie inert in the corner of your house? Will you now waste your time clutching ancient skeletons to your breast and moaning over them? The Supreme Being is calling you in the roar of the ocean, in the thunder of the clouds, in the speed of the lightning, in the meteor’s flaming fires. Nothing will come of remaining idle. Get up and awaken the clouded chivalry of your dormant youth. The path may not be strewn with flowers – an inferiority complex may seek to hold back your every advancing footstep, but even then you have to proceed onward, tearing the shroud of darkness. You will soon rend the thick darkness of despair on the way to the attainment of the Supreme State, and advance onwards in the swift-moving chariot, radiant with the sun’s brilliance.” (3)

Significance of Look of Parama Purusa in Meditation

[4] Parama Purusa’s gaze upon a sadhaka holds great significance in spiritual life. In mediation, if one feels or sees that Parama Purusa is looking at them that is very blessed stage of sadhana. If sadhana is not good, then that feeling or experience does not arise. Ultimately, His gaze means His grace. So if in mediation one does not feel that Parama Purusa is looking at them, then one must request Him to fix His eyes on them. In meditation, if one feels that He is looking upon them, then that creates a huge upsurge of spiritual vibration and bliss. That is what has been expressed in this song.

Watch out: carcinogenic herbicide Glyphosate used on genetically modified crops + 3 more

Baba

1. Posting: Watch out: carcinogenic herbicide Glyphosate used on...
2. News: At least 20,000 farm workers have died....
3. Letter: Ranchi sold AM properties in Davao?

Watch out:

carcinogenic herbicide Glyphosate used on genetically modified crops

Namaskar,
One of the most dangerous and disturbing elements in today’s food chain is the presence of GMO’s, or genetically modified organisms.

"Not only can genes be transferred from one plant to another, but genes from non-plant organisms bacterium also can be used. The best known example of this is the use of Bt genes in corn and other crops. Bt, or Bacillus thuringiensis, is a naturally occurring bacterium." (Dept of Plant and Soil Sciences, OSU)

Why are companies so interested in using genes in this way? Because by this process, they can make those crops resistant to herbicides and pesticides – and hence easily increase profits.

How this affects Ananda Margiis

What does the presence of GMO’s in food mean for Ananda Margiis? It means that certain foods we consider to be “sentient” may in fact be tamasik.

Here are more concerns in bulleted format:

* This GMO approach is still quite new and has not been well-researched nor critically tested. There remains many unknowns along with the possibility of public health issues.

* Vegetarian foods made from transferring the genes of one plant to a separate plant's gene pool should be avoided because those products may be a health hazard (carcinogenic etc) for the short and long term, and they may be tamasik.

* Foods and GMO crops made from a plant gene pool that contains threads from an animal gene pool(s) are outrightly tamasik, plus they may have other health hazards.

* For meat-eating communities all this may not be concern; for Ananda Margiis, this is a huge issue: If vegetable or grain crops have been formed from animal genes. So every margii should know about this.

This is an all-pervasive issue

Irrespective of which part of the globe you live, you must be critically aware about this hot issue. If the food you buy does not specifically say “Non-GMO”, or if you are not 100% sure about the origin of your grain and vegetable seeds, then it is possible that your food has been genetically affected. This is especially true with name-brand, “natural”, company food products. One of the below articles offers critical information about this.

Baba’s guideline:

science and civilisation

Here is a clear-cut warning from Baba.

Baba says, “Where scientific progress supersedes civilization, there civilization meets its Waterloo.” (A Few Problems Solved Part 6, Civilization, Science and Spiritual Progress)

That means when science take precedence and is used irresponsibly in ways that harms humanity, then that society will meet its demise. And the root cause is the misuse of science.

Today, with the use of GMO’s, we see the terrible misuse of science in our fruit, vegetable and grain food supply. Genetically modified crops are spreading around the globe in order to heighten corporate profits. Big food companies are eager to keep this fact hidden regarding the deadly effect of such carcinogens. They want to use science at the cost of human health and our overall well-being. We should all be aware about this.

Thousands of farmers and their employees died in various countries due to the toxic effect of those herbicides / GMO for growing certain crops. Those chemicals had a long-term effect. The area where those GMO crops were grown became completely polluted and toxic. Everything polluted - river, ponds air etc - because of the use of those harmful genetically-modified herbicides etc. Those locals living in that region are suffering. it is especially deadly for those directly dealing with this chemical - such as those farmers and laborers. That is what below article says.

Who can forget how agent orange was used by the US forces in Vietnam to destroy the forces. Still today, 45+ years later, birth defects continue to happen in those regions.

At least 20,000 farm workers have died

of chronic kidney disease in Nicaragua

The most widely used herbicide in the world, glyphosate, the active ingredient in the Monsanto product Roundup, was classified as "probably carcinogenic to humans,” in a report released Friday by     cancer researchers affiliated with the World Health Organization.

The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) announced its assessment of glyphosate after convening a meeting this month of 17 cancer experts from 11 countries. They looked at the available scientific evidence on five different pesticides, including glyphosate, to determine whether to classify them as carcinogens. Carcinogens are substances that can lead to cancer under certain levels of exposure.

Glyphosate caused DNA and chromosomal damage in mammals, and in human and animal cells studied in laboratories, the report said. Studies of workers who had been exposed to the chemical in the U.S. Canada, and Sweden found “increased risks for non-Hodgkin lymphoma that persisted after adjustment for other pesticides,” the report said.

Glyphosate is usually used on crops, including corn and soybeans, that are genetically modified to survive it. The herbicide has been detected in food water, and in the air after it has been sprayed, according to the IARC report. “Its use has increased sharply with the development of genetically modified glyphosate-resistant crop varieties,” the report said.

WHO's based its classification of glyphosate on evidence from studies of exposure, mostly agricultural, in the United States, Canada, and Sweden that were published since 2001.

Glyphosate was originally used as a descaling agent to clean out mineral deposits from pipes because of its ability to avidly bind to heavy metals. The chemical bonds to arsenic, cadmium and other heavy     metals found in groundwater.

Scientists and farmers elsewhere have raised other concerns over glyphosate and tried to ban its use.

Channa Jayasumana, with Rajarata University of Sri Lanka, published a study in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health in 2014 on a possible link between glyphosate and chronic kidney disease in farmworkers. His research found that excessive heat and dehydration may weaken the workers' bodies, making them more susceptible to pesticides and heavy metals, which can lead to kidney disease.

Based on that research, the Sri Lankan government moved to ban glyphosate in spring of 2014. But Monsanto raised objections to the report's findings, and the ban was lifted. The chemical was, and continues to be, widely used on farms in the country.

The research also suggested a link between glyphosate and a mysterious kidney disease that has killed thousands of farmworkers in Central America. At least 20,000 farm workers have died of chronic kidney disease in Nicaragua in the last two decades, The Guardian reported in February. Researchers who have studied the disease in Central America say that it mainly affects agricultural laborers working under conditions of excessive heat and dehydration, but other factors, including pesticides, may play a role. (With wire services)

"Not only can genes be transferred from one plant to another, but genes from non-plant organisms bacterium also can be used. The best known example of this is the use of Bt genes in corn and other crops. Bt, or Bacillus thuringiensis, is a naturally occurring bacterium. that produces crystal proteins that are lethal to insect larvae. Bt crystal protein genes have been transferred into corn, enabling the corn to produce its own pesticides against insects such as the European corn borer." Uncivilised habit + 2 more

Baba

This email contains three sections:

Uncivilised habit

Namaskar,

“We may call those human acts and behaviours “civilized” that give evidence of this discriminative judgement, in a great measure.” (AFPS-6, Civilization, Science and Spiritual Progress)

Smoking is not healthy. Medical research has proven that cigarettes are carcinogenic and toxic. They are poisonous and cause disease and premature death. So the habit of smoking cigarettes is not supported by logic and reasoning.

According Ananda Marga philosophy, when one acts in a way that is not based on rationality, then that action is uncivilised. Thus smoking itself is uncivilised - whether one is aware about the dangers of smoking or not. Those who do not smoke are civilised - in this particular aspect of life.

It does not matter that he was Pope Benedict XVI; his habit of smoking is uncivilised. In other avenues of life, he may be civilised; but on this particular act of smoking he is not civilised. This is just one example.

The overarching rule is that if any behaviour is not supported by rationality then that action is uncivilised. If the majority of one’s actions are uncivilised, then that individual is an uncivilised human being.

In Him,
Yataman
Jesse Reynolds

Note: And persistent reports over the last few years indicate that Pope Benedict XVI enjoys an occasional cigarette – Marlboro Red, it is claimed – in quiet moments, away from prying cameras. For this reason I am reproducing the distasteful photograph above, which I found on the internet: I apologise if it causes offence to anybody. During World Youth Day in Australia in 2008, a bodyguard claimed that the Holy Father had smoked three cigarettes in quick succession. To think of the Pope enjoying a relaxing draw on a King Size cigarette packed with smooth Virginia tobaccos… it only makes me admire him more. (Courtesy of Telegraph)

~ O' Parama Purusa, You came here to give love and hope
to the depressed, the forlorn, the desperate, and the hopeless ~

"Esechile álor srote, hatásháy áshá bhálobásá dite..." (PS 619)

Purport:

O' Parama Purusa, You came here from the source of effulgence to give love and hope to the depressed, the forlorn, the desperate, and the hopeless. O' my Lord, You have come to caress, soothe, and inspire suffering humanity. O' Divine Entity, it is Your grace: I am floating in the divine world of blissful ideation - thinking of You; I am spiritually intoxicated in Your love and affection. You have made me Yours.

O' Parama Purusa, in cimmerian darkness, I was looking for You; I sought “Your help”. I was drowned in misery and nightmares. In the pool of sorrow, I found You very close to me. In my hour of dire need, You were there by my side - to help me. O' Parama Purusa, I have seen You in a musical residue of melody. I have seen You in Your most attractive and intoxicating form - and also in formless rhythms.  You are the most attractive Entity in the entire universe. Having fallen in love with You, I am not attracted towards anything else. It is Your grace.

O' Parama Purusa Baba, in storms and cyclones, I was completely desperate for Your help; then by Your grace, I found You in the soft gentle breeze. After overcoming my drowsiness, I have listened to the mystical sounds of Your captivating flute. My mind was completely ensconced in Your divine tunes - in Your various transcendental melodies. I have found You in various forms - in happiness as well as in sorrow.

Baba, You are always with me - it is Your causeless grace...

How prakrti decides the gender of fetus...+ 2 more

Baba

This email contains three sections:
1. End Quote: How prakrti decides the gender of fetus...
2. PS #365: Why are you engrossed in blind attachment
3. Links

How prakrti decides the gender of fetus:

male, female, or hermaphrodite

"Jiivátmá is neither a male nor a female, nor a hermaphrodite. For the proper expression of one's latent samskáras [reactive momenta] one gets reborn into the body of a woman or a man or sometimes a hermaphrodite. There is no question of high or low, superior or inferior, noble or ignoble because whatever might be the sex of the body, the jiivátmá is just the witnessing faculty of the mind it is attached to. It is unassailed by the sexual differences of the quinquelemental bodies. The unexpressed psychic reactions (samskáras) of the disembodied soul are guided by the Cosmic Mind and adjusted with a proper structure, at a proper time and a proper place, providing a congenial environment for the expression of the unrequited samskáras. Depending upon the nature of the samskáras there is either the predominance of the tendency to attract (samyojanii shakti) or the predominance of the tendency to be attracted (vibhájanii shakti). The nature of the force of attraction is to draw the object of enjoyment towards itself, and the nature of the force which is attracted is to move towards the object of enjoyment. When there is dominance of samyojanii shakti in one's latent saḿskáras, the disembodied soul attains a female body for its outward expression, and conversely where there is a dominance of vibhájanii shakti, it attains a male body. Where there is an approximate balance between the two, the disembodied soul attains the body of a hermaphrodite. Of course, even in the hermaphrodite the balance between saḿyojanii and vibhájanii shaktis is not perfect; there is a slight tilt in favour of one or the other. That's why some hermaphrodites are more inclined towards masculinity, and some, femininity." (1)

~ Why are you engrossed in blind attachment ~

Prabhat Samgiita Intro: Throughout Baba's vast gift of Prabhat Samgiita, in most songs the devotee and Parama Purusa are communicating with one another. In some of the songs the style of conversation is direct while others are indirect. When the style of expression is indirect, no one should conclude that the sadhaka is having a conversation with another sadhaka. That is not the case. Rather, the bhakta is communicating with Parama Purusa - using indirect language.

Here in this song, in the first stanza, Parama Purusa is addressing the bhakta; whereas in the second and third stanzas, the bhakta is addressing Parama Purusa. This following song describes the start of creation and how Parama Purusa plays His divine liila, as well as how a sadhaka can become one with Him - by His grace.

“Arúp devatá rúper deule, kár lági tumi tithi gono…” (PS #365)

Purport:

O' devotee, the formless Nirguna Brahma has come in the temple of form. He has manifested Himself in a charming array of forms, like flora and fauna, valleys and mountains, oceans and deserts, animals and plants, that surround you. The Entity for whom You are longing has already arrived. So now, for which Divine Entity are you counting the days? For Whose auspicious advent are you waiting in longing for? O' bhakta, why are you unnecessarily weaving your dreams about those things which are not going to remain for forever. Why are you putting all your hopes in this temporary, ephemeral world? Why are you fully engaged - day and night - in toiling in mundane activities. This world is transitory - today it is and tomorrow it is no more.

O' Parama Purusa, by Your grace, this world of forms goes on merging into the formless Nirguna Brahma. In due course, step by step all the entities of this creation become one with Him. He is the final Goal and desideratum of all. Then why are You fully engaged in Your divine liila of creating this colourful universe of forms and figures - when there is no lasting benefit of doing this.

O' Parama Purusa Baba, I know that Your creation is not just an illusion. And by Your grace, at the same time, I also know that Your flow of imagination - i.e. this creation - is not permanent either. You have graced me with the understanding that this world is a relative reality - that is always undergoing change. Baba, O' Lord, in this creation of Yours, everything is a passing phenomena, a moving panorama. Then why do You infuse blind attachment in the minds of living beings towards this created world? Due to this blind attachment, people forget that they have to leave this world one day and that they have come here for spiritual practice. Everything else is for objective adjustment. The main goal is Parama Purusa. Due to moha, people get attached with power, post, money, and beauty, and forget the purpose of their arrival on this earth. They waste their time and die one day without moving even one step closer to Parama Purusa.

O' Parama Purusa, please shower Your grace so I can always remember this divine truth...

Unknown history: So-called upper caste Indians & "native demons" + 2 more

Baba

2. Posting: Unknown history: So-called upper caste Indians & "native demons"

So-called upper caste Indians came from central Asia

treated indigenous as demons: unknown history

Namaskar,

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "In the Vedic era, the Aryans used to steal food grains and animals from the non-Aryans to perform their sacrifices and rituals (yajinas). In retaliation, groups of non-Aryans used to attack the Aryans to recover their possessions while they were performing their rituals. These attacks were grossly distorted in the Vedas, which gives the impression that the Aryans were good while the non-Aryans were evil. In fact, the non-Aryans were forced to attack the Aryans to recover their food to ensure their survival. Did the non-Aryans do anything bad? No, they did the right thing." (1)

In India, even today, the common public has been indoctrinated into the dogma that evil asuras were destroying the religious rituals and yajinas of aryans. They think that asuras are some type of nasty creatures that have very long teeth, dangerous claws like lions, horns on their head, and a very terrible face. That is how it is propagated in Indian mythology.

So Baba's above teaching is eye-opening. The truth about the aryans and non-aryans (i.e. the indigenous people of India) is a previously unknown aspect of history. No one was aware about this. Genealogy studies have since come to know that the so-called highest caste of Indians came from central Asia. When those aryans entered into India they treated the indigenous population as demons and created all kinds of stories and myths about them. So many false things were propagated.

Looting food of native population and

throwing in their fire rituals

Verily those aryans created an entire mythology about such so-called asuras. The aryans claimed that demons were coming and ruining their ritualistic offerings and sacrifices of food and animals etc. But now the truth has been revealed. Those war-like aryans were looting the food of the native population and throwing that food in their sacrificial fires. In turn, the indigenous people were protesting and fighting back.

So actually, the so-called asuras were none other than the indigenous people of India. They were the original inhabitants of India, living here prior to the invasion of the aryans. Still nowadays, however they are condemned as so-called, low-caste creatures, by so-called upper-caste people. These asuras are treated unjustly and known as harijans which are regarded by upper caste people as despicable and low. But actually, these are the indigenous people of India.

Fake purodhas present themselves

as demigods & exploit masses

It is very important to accurately depict history and keep records that properly portray what transpired. Bad people always try to distort history and befool the future generations. But the truth invariably comes to the surface.

This same type of drama has unfolded in our Ananda Marga as well. Hypocrites and cheats are projecting themselves as divine; such fake purodhas present themselves as demigods as they exploit the mass of common margiis. Now is the crucial period - a proper historical record must be made. If we are not careful, our grand-grandsons and daughters and all future generations will be taught false things and indoctrinated into the narrow agenda of the various groups. This is the wrong way forward.

Bhaktideva

~ Hari of Goloka has come in Gokul ~

"Bánsharii bájiye jáy sahás nayane cáy, goloker hari áji gokule liilá racáy..." (P.S. 3658)

Purport:

Today, the Hari of the divine world has manifested His liila in the land of devotees. With His sweet grace He is moving all around playing His divine flute, (omnkara sound) - showering His charming smile and gracious eyes upon all. With reddish lips, He is beckoning each and everyone. He is saying: "Come close, come to Me - quickly, as soon as possible, come running, so we can play together." Today that Hari of the divine world is showering bliss on everyone. We are so graced.

Everyone is His kith and kin; all are His own; nobody is alien. No one is far; everyone is close. All are His most intimate ones. By His grace every bhakta gets Him in their thinking, japa, and meditation. Every bhakta resides in His mind; everyone has a place in His heart. By His causeless grace, now the current of the yamuná river of devotion is very high and strong. His divine rasa is overflowing & splashing in ecstasy. With His fathomless grace, the garland of waves is swaying to and fro. All are ensconced in His bliss.

For crushing the dus't'a (demonic people), for saving & nurturing the virtuous & dharmic people, and for destroying the nefarious and deadly demons, He takes advent again and again on this earth. With the rumble, twang, and beating of His kettle drum, He challenges demons. He comes as Mahasambhuti. There is no one else in this universe who has such infinite and countless qualities like He. That Hari of the divine world is the abode of all heavenly attributions. Today, that Hari of the divine world has taken advent on this earth. He is with us.

The Lord of the universe has come today with gracious splendour, and He is showering His divine liila upon all devotees. He is most loving and ever-gracious. That divine Hari is calling, "Come one, come all..."

Notes for Prabhat Samgiita #3658:

[1] What is liila

"There is a subtle difference between liilá and kriid́a. When the cause of an effect is easily discernible it is called kriid́a, but when the cause is unknown and only the effect is easily discernible it is called liilá. This creation is the liilá of Parama Puruśa because human beings do not know why He has created it. With the help of their intellect they are eager to know the cause of creation, but will they ever be successful in this quest? They want to solve the riddle of creation, but they have no notion about the cause. So whatever Parama Puruśa does is all His liilá, It cannot be called His kriid́á. I have already said that when one discovers the relation between the cause and effect it is called kriid́á, but when one can see only the effect and not the cause, it is called liilá. For human beings having only a small unit mind the creation is the liilá of Parama Puruśa, but to Him it is His kriid́á." (1)

[2] Who is hari

"In Sanskrit, one name of Parama Puruśa is Hari. Hari means "who steals", "who takes away all your sin without your knowledge". In Sanskrit, the root verb hr means "to steal". Now the relationship between the Lord and His devotee is very sweet, and extremely, purely, personal. Parama Puruśa loves His devotee, and the devotee also loves His Lord. Now the accumulated mountain of sin attached to the devotee is unbearable for the Lord. He wants to remove that mountain of sin from His devotees. He may say: "Oh, devotee, give your sins to Me." The devotee will say: "No, Lord, I am ready to give You everything, I am ready to give You my soul, my spirit, everything, but how can I give my sins to You? I cannot." But Parama Puruśa loves His devotee, so without the knowledge of the devotee, He takes away his sin. Now to take something from a man without his knowledge is stealing. So Parama Puruśa steals – that is, He takes away sin from His devotee. And that’s why He is called Hari." (2)

[3] This does not mean that someone is actually playing a flute

and all the humans and cows are dancing around him

"There is another expression of bhakti which occurs when devotees realize that all beings are created from ánanda, exist in ánanda and return to ánanda. This realization causes a radical change in their outlook – no longer can they differentiate between rich and poor, highborn and low-born. They observe an ocean of ánanda flowing within and around all created beings. "Rasa vae sah" – all are flowing in the same rasa, the same ocean of bliss. In that divine flow the devotees see Parama Puruśa dancing with each entity. In philosophy, this dance is called "rásaliilá" [divine play in the flow of bliss]. It does not mean that someone is actually playing a flute with all the humans and cows dancing around him. Rather, it means that all the entities of this beginningless and endless universe are floating in the ocean of cosmic bliss. There is no place for sorrow since sorrow only exists where petty interests clash and vie with each other. When the devotees clearly understand this they become established in "bhaktiránanda rupáca"." (3)

[4] Next you will hear the sound of flutes

"Then in the next phase, as if somebody is dancing with ghuṋghur [ankle bells]. (You know, ghuṋghur – you use it during the táńd́ava dance. Not even divine expression, not even supra-psychic expression." (4)

[5] In devotional field what is Yamuná

"Yamuná. Just as there is a Yamuna River in the physical sphere, in the subtle psychic sphere also there is a certain flow which leads microcosms towards Parama Puruśa."(5)

Gross dogma on its death bed: mutilating infants genital then licking blood

Gross dogma on its death bed:

mutilating infants genital then licking blood

Namaskar,

Baba classifies circumcision as a dogmatic ritual that has no place in our Ananda Marga this as a dogma:

"Certain practices were not originally religious rituals, but traditions or customs. Long ago the Jews started practising circumcision. When Moses converted some of his contemporaries to Judaism, and later when Mohammed converted some local people to Islam, neither prophet dared to instruct their new followers to discard the old customs they followed, consequently the old customs continued after their conversion." (1)

So circumcision is nothing but a holdover custom from thousands of years; it not based on science or rationality. And it was adopted by the Semitic religions. Thus this harmful tradition has just been blindly passed on from one community to the next.

The below article details how some Rabbis are performing suction circumcisions in NYC.  It is a shocking and horrific affair.

Orthodox Jewish tradition known as

oral suction circumcision

NEW YORK (AP) — With a swift swipe of his scalpel, Rabbi A. Romi Cohn circumcises the baby boy, then leans down and sucks the blood from the wound as prayers in Hebrew fill the Brooklyn synagogue.

The Orthodox Jewish tradition known as oral suction circumcision reaches back to biblical times but it has created a modern-day dilemma for New York City health officials, who have linked it to 17 cases of infant herpes since 2000. Two died and two others suffered brain damage.

Mayor Bill de Blasio's administration, which came into power a year ago with a promise to reconsider an existing regulation on the ritual, is now negotiating with a group of rabbis over how to protect children's health while still preserving religious freedom.

"The talks are ongoing but I cannot go into particulars," said Avi Fink, the mayor's deputy director of intergovernmental affairs who has been leading the talks. "Our goal is to achieve awareness of the risks."

...

A 2012 report by the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention advised against the practice, saying it increases the risk of herpes infection in baby boys by 3.4 times that of other male newborns.

Oral suction circumcisions first came under scrutiny during Mayor Michael Bloomberg's administration, and the city's health board voted in 2012 to regulate the practice by asking a parent or guardian to sign a consent form indicating possible risks.

Health officials point to a number of factors they say have linked the known cases to the ritual. They look for lesions on the genitalia, indicating that's where the virus started. In addition, lab tests have showed that the timing of the infection coincides with the circumcision.

Two cases were recorded after oral suction in 2013 and four last year. In the most recent case, diagnosed in November, a baby boy was found to have lesions on his penis. But of those six cases, parents refused to identify the person who performed the circumcision — called a mohel — in four.
In the two cases in which the circumcisers were identified, both declined to be tested, the Health Department said. They were banned from performing the ritual. (Courtesy of Newsday)

Kind of cannibalism:

The baby is wailing in pain and horror

Here below is a photo of the rabbi performing the oral suction type of circumcision. At present the rabbi is bending over the crying baby (upper right corner) so he (the rabbi) can suck the blood that is oozing out of the baby’s genitalia. The baby is wailing in pain and horror. In this practice, rabbis sometimes infect the newborn babe with their own venereal disease.

This scene is not only gross and brutal but a form of cannibalism as well. It outrightly contravenes the principles of neo-humanism.

See the sickening scene in the above photo. The rabbi is leaning over and sucking the blood that is oozing out of the baby’s genitalia. The baby in the back right is wailing in pain, terror, and horror - and at risk for contracting venereal disease.

They feel that God’s design is inherently flawed

Those strict margiis from a jewish background gave up this dirty practice after joining Ananda Marga. The other two Semitic religions perform circumcision by no this sucking type of approach. So they indulge in torturing the newborn but do not resort to cannibalism

All in all this is completely hypocrisy on the part of those Jewish rabbis. On the one hand they claim all Jews as the “chosen people” of God. Yet they feel that God’s design is inherently flawed and that is why they are cutting, sucking the genital  of the new-born.

All in all, a close medical watch is needed to save the new-born till this practice is eliminated on the grounds of neo-humanism. Our duty is to raise the public consciousness.

Namaskar,
in Him,
Caetanya

"A'ka'she a'loke bhese ja'y, tava mahima'ri katha'..." (PS 3287)

Puport:

O' Parama Purusa, You are the most magnificent One. The tale of Your glory and grandeur is floating and permeating throughout each and every molecule of the vast, blue sky and in the effulgence - everywhere.

O' my Lord, Your story, the tale of the ever-present, Ancient One, is glittering in all the realms: in both bhuloka and duloka - in the physical and spiritual worlds. You are so gracious.

O' Ancient, Divine One, You are eternally, ever-new. You are always, intrinsically with everyone - just like their vital force, just like their pra'na. You always remain present in my feeling, ideation, and     intuition. For that reason this eternal longing of my heart is for You and You alone.

O' Parama Purusa Baba, with festivities of light and the flow of effulgence, please colour my mind, and sit in the depths of my ideation - dhyana. Please grace me by playing Your divine flute in the deep core of my heart - be compassionate and do not neglect or overlook me. Graciously goad my mind towards divinity and show me that path which leads to immortality.

O' my Lord, O' Baba, please shower Your causeless grace; I surrender at Your lotus feet...

Not limited to Hong Kong only

Baba

Not limited to Hong Kong only

Namaskar,
Here is a recent case of abuse where one young, Indonesian nanny was tortured and tormented by her host family in Hong Kong. But this case is not an isolated problem specific to Hong Kong. Rather, this is a pervasive issue around the globe: The vulnerable are exploited.

We must all also abide by and preach this following teaching of Caryacarya to one and all.

Look after your assistants as your own children

and help for their all-round development

Sadguru Baba says, “No one in Ananda Marga is anyone's servant. Use terms like “agricultural assistant” or “family assistant” according to the nature of their work. Look after your assistants as your own children and pay attention towards their all-round development. Fix the time for their Iishvara prańidhána and help them to acquire social status. Never be an impediment their progress.”

Must help those manipulated and besieged

As Ananda Margiis, we must help those from being manipulated, taken advantage of, and besieged by the dominant group or individual.

Every Ananda Margii must be alert and treat everyone in accordance with neo-humanistic values. We must help others understand that just as they value their own life similarly those who are vulnerable and prone to being exploited also cherish their lives. So every Ananda Margii must not allow anyone to exploit or take advantage of others - not under any circumstances.

Slur on Ananda Marga

Here is Baba’s teaching.

“One who does not come forward to help when seeing a person in distress is unworthy to be called a human being – he or she is a slur on Ananda Marga.” (2)

Hong Kong woman guilty in Indonesian maid abuse case

(Courtesy of Yahoo News)

A Hong Kong woman was convicted Tuesday of beating and starving her Indonesian maid and keeping her prisoner in a case that sparked international outrage and highlighted the plight of migrant domestic workers.

The verdict, read out to a packed courtroom, was met with cheers by activists and supporters of Erwiana Sulistyaningsih, a former domestic helper who has become the face of a campaign for improved workers' rights in the financial hub.

Pictures of the injuries sustained by the 24-year-old, who was admitted to hospital in her home country emaciated and in a critical condition after being abused by mother-of-two Law Wan-tung, fuelled anger in Indonesia and shocked Hong Kong.

Sulistyaningsih hailed the ruling but called for reforms to ensure Hong Kong employers no longer treated domestic workers "like slaves".

She said that while she forgave her abuser, she hoped Law would receive the maximum seven year jail term when sentencing is announced on February 27.

"She was, for want of a better word, a prisoner in those premises," Judge Amanda Woodcock said, referring to Sulistyaningsih.

"She was completely isolated, and (this) helps explain why this abuse could go on for so long without her retaliating or anyone knowing."

A group of protesters gather outside the courthouse in support of Indonesian former maid Erwiana Sul …

"When Erwiana left Hong Kong she was a shadow of her former self."

Law, 44, was found guilty of 18 of the 20 charges laid against her, including grievous bodily harm, assault, criminal intimidation and failure to pay wages.
She lowered her head but appeared to be calm as the verdict was announced, while a jubilant Sulistyaningsih, clad in a black T-shirt with her face and the word "justice" emblazoned on it, hugged activists.

"I am happy that she was found guilty," she told AFP in an interview.

- 'Still not enough' -

"Myself, I can forgive her. But Hong Kong has a justice system, because of that, justice must be upheld."

Demonstrators pump their fists at a 'One Billion Rising for Justice' rally in Hong Kong, on  …

At a separate news conference, she called for reform in Hong Kong, and said her native Indonesia must not shirk its responsibilities to protect its citizens who travel abroad to work.
"I hope they will start treating migrant workers as workers and human beings, and stop treating us like slaves," she said.

Sulistyaningsih said she hoped her former employer would receive the greatest possible sentence, "even though for me, that is still not enough compared to what she did to me and other victims".

During the six-week trial, prosecutors said Law turned household items such as a mop, a ruler and a clothes hanger into "weapons" against her maids.

Sulistyaningsih described in vivid detail how she was "tortured", starved, beaten and ritually humiliated by Law, with prosecutors saying she was treated as an "unpaid slave".

"It's a victory for Erwiana," Aaron Ceradoy, programme coordinator for the Asia Pacific Mission for Migrants, told AFP.

"It would be good if the migrant community can use this case to strengthen their position on their demands for changes in policies."

The case sparked protests by migrant workers in Hong Kong, and has thrust the plight of migrant domestic helpers in Asia and the Middle East into the headlines after other shocking incidents of torture and even killings.

Sulistyaningsih said she lived for months on nothing but meagre portions of bread and rice, sleeping only four hours a day and being so badly beaten by her employer that she was knocked unconscious.

Law's defence accused the former maid and another two domestic helpers involved in the case of being "opportunistic", and that the injuries could have been caused by accidents. Woodcock in her ruling dismissed those claims as "desperate and fanciful".

"The message should be brought home that if you live in a society where you're fortunate enough to employ a domestic helper, they're still protected by the law," police detective superintendent David Cameron told reporters after the verdict.

Hong Kong is home to nearly 300,000 maids from mainly Southeast Asian countries -- predominantly Indonesia and the Philippines -- and criticism from rights groups over their treatment is growing.

Amnesty International in 2013 condemned the "slavery-like" conditions faced by thousands of Indonesian women who work as domestic staff and accused authorities of "inexcusable" inaction.(Courtesy of Yahoo News)

A pervasive issue around the globe

Again, this is not an isolated problem from Hong Kong. Rather, this is a pervasive issue around the globe: Vulnerable are exploited. As Ananda Margiis, we must help innocent people from being manipulated, tortured, and besieged by the dominant group. Otherwise one is a slur on Ananda Marga.

“One who does not come forward to help when seeing a person in distress is unworthy to be called a human being – he or she is a slur on Ananda Marga.” (2)

Elder abuse in the United States + 2 more

Elder abuse in the United States

Namaskar,
This is a topic for us all to reflect upon. Although this  compilation of data is from one specific country, this problem of elder abuse is pervasive around the world. Where capitalism is on the rise, those communities become more selfish and greedy and elder abuse cases become more common.

Sadguru Baba says, "One who does not come forward to help when seeing a person in distress is unworthy to be called a human being – he or she is a slur on Ananda Marga." (1)

Elder Abuse: The Size of the Problem

(Courtesy of National Center on Elder Abuse)

Below is a sampling of findings that show what is known about the incidence and prevalence of elder abuse and neglect:

  • The most recent major studies on incidence reported that 7.6%–10% of study participants experienced abuse in the prior year. The study that found an incidence of 1 in 10 adults experiencing abuse did not include financial abuse.
  • Available data from state Adult Protective Services (APS) agencies show an increasing trend in the reporting of elder abuse.
  • Despite the accessibility of APS in all 50 states (whose programs are quite different), as well as mandatory reporting laws for elder abuse in most states, an overwhelming number of cases of abuse, neglect, and exploitation go undetected and untreated each year.
  • One study estimated that only 1 in 14 cases of elder abuse ever comes to the attention of authorities. The New York State Elder Abuse Prevalence Study found that for every case known to programs and agencies, 24 were unknown.
  • Major financial exploitation was self-reported at a rate of 41 per 1,000 surveyed, which was higher than self-reported rates of emotional, physical, and sexual abuse or neglect.

Those Who Abuse

In the only national study that attempted to define the scope of elder abuse, the vast majority of abusers were family members (approximately 90%), most often adult children, spouses, partners, and others.

Family members who abuse drugs or alcohol, who have a mental/emotional illness, and who feel burdened by their caregiving responsibilities abuse at higher rates than those who do not.

Abuse of Those with Disabilities

Approximately 14 million U.S. adults aged 65 and over and 19 million U.S adults aged 18 to 64 have a disability.13 Unfortunately, some of these vulnerable adults are abused by family members, service providers, care assistants and others. This abuse places the victim’s health, safety, emotional wellbeing, and ability to engage in daily life activities at risk.

Below is a sampling of research findings relating to abuse of adults with disabilities:
  • Institutionalized adult women with disabilities reported a 33% prevalence of having ever experienced interpersonal violence (IPV) versus 21% for institutionalized adult women without disabilities.
  • When considering lifetime abuse by any perpetrator, a sample of 200 adult women with disabilities indicated that 67% had experienced physical abuse and 53% had experienced sexual abuse.
  • In a study of 342 adult men, 55% of men experienced physical abuse by any person after becoming disabled. Nearly 12% of these men stated they experienced physical abuse by a personal assistance service provider over their lifetime.
  • In a comprehensive review of literature published from 2000–2010, lifetime prevalence of any type of IPV against adult women with disabilities was found to be 26–90%. Lifetime prevalence of IPV against adult men with disabilities was found to be 28.7–86.7%. It was concluded that, over the course of their lives, IPV occurs at disproportionate and elevated rates among men and women with disabilities.

Dementia and Elder Abuse

Research indicates that people with dementia are at greater risk of elder abuse than those without. Approximately 5.1 million American elders over 65 have some kind of dementia. Close to half of all people over 85, the fastest growing segment of our population, have Alzheimer’s disease or another kind of dementia. By 2025, most states are expected to see an increase in Alzheimer prevalence.20 One 2009 study revealed that close to 50% of people with dementia experience some kind of abuse. A 2010 study found that 47% of participants with dementia had been mistreated by their caregivers.

Abuse in Nursing Homes and other Long Term Care Facilities

Elder abuse occurs in community settings, such as private homes, as well as institutional settings like nursing homes and other types of long term care facilities. 3.2 million Americans resided in nursing homes during 2008.

Below is a sampling of research findings relating to abuse in long term care facilities:
  • Of all complaints regarding institutional facilities reported to long term care Ombudsmen were complaints of abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
  • In 2000, one study interviewing 2,000 nursing home residents reported that 44% said they had been abused and 95% said they had been neglected or seen another resident neglected.
  • A May, 2008 study conducted by the U.S. General Accountability Office revealed that state surveys understate problems in licensed facilities: 70% of state surveys miss at least one deficiency and 15% of surveys miss actual harm and immediate jeopardy of a nursing home resident.

More About Elder Abuse

Elder mistreatment (i.e. abuse and neglect) is defined as intentional actions that cause harm or create a serious risk of harm (whether or not harm is intended) to a vulnerable elder by a caregiver or other person who stands in a trust relationship to the elder. This includes failure by a caregiver to satisfy the elder’s basic needs or to protect the elder from harm.

Unfortunately, we simply do not know for certain how many people are suffering from elder abuse and neglect. It appears that female elders are abused at a higher rate than males and that the older one is, the more likely one is to be abused.

Signs of elder abuse may be missed by professionals working with older Americans because of lack of training on detecting abuse. The elderly may be reluctant to report abuse themselves because of fear of retaliation, lack of physical and/or cognitive ability to report, or because they don’t want to get the abuser (90% of whom are family members) in trouble.

~ I only view the world in my own selfish way without any Cosmic ideation ~

“Kakhano a’mi prabhu d’a’kini toma’y, tumi bha’lobesecho more...” (PS 3368)

Purport:

Baba, O' Prabhu, You are so gracious on me. I never call You and in my heart I do not have such a strong feeling of longing or devotion, but You are always loving me. O’ my Lord, even by mistake, I do not spend any time doing Your work. Neither do I do any work nor do I allocate any time to follow Your commands and orders to satisfy You. Even then You go on looking after all my needs and caring for me. You are so gracious.

O' Parama Purusa, all in all, my situation is like the dust lying on the floor of the earth. I involve in all kinds of worldly, material pursuits – all the while plunged in mean and lowly thoughts. I never think about You. I do not understand how even a blade of grass does not move without Your approval – if You do not desire. This eternal truth I do not understand. My situation is like one particle of dust that is lying on the ground. I only view the world in my own selfish way without any cosmic ideation. Just I go on degrading myself by this approach. O’ Lord, You are always gracious. I never call You with deep longing, yet You always love me.

O’ Parama Purusa, O’ Baba, the dawn of the day comes by Your grace. The smile of the moon in the night is the expression of Your compassion. Baba, this whole created universe is filled with Your divine vibration and that takes expression in the form of everyone’s love and affection.

Baba, You are so gracious on me. Without my calling You, without my remembering You, without my following Your commands & directions, You always care for me and love me. Baba, Your grace is causeless...

He Was Not Part Of The "Inner Circle"

He Was Not Part Of The "Inner Circle"

Namaskar,
All are aware about our recent tragic loss - the mahaprayan of respected Ac Siddhayogananda Avt. Here following are more details surrounding Dadaji's mahaparayan.

1. Dadaji performed his kapalik meditation at a local cemetery the night of the 18th of January - approximately 24 - 30 hours before his mahaprayan.

2. Of late, in the weeks prior, Dadaji was healthy and strong - ie. in good, physical condition. There was no question or concern in anyone's mind that Dadaji would soon pass, i.e. mahaprayan.

3. Those around him know that Dada Siddhayogananda was under a lot of stress and mental tension because of the state of affairs in the organisation.

4. Although, Dadaji held a global post he was never fully embraced by top Dadas and was not part of the "inner circle."

5. More than 50 margiis and Wts attended his cremation - Dadaji's face was beaming and serene, and his shraddha ceremony will begin momentarily - i.e. around 11am IST on 23 January 2015 at the Prout Bhavan, Malviyanagar (Delhi.)

at His feet,
Jayanta

LOW-GRADE PEOPLE DO FOR SHOW ONLY

Note: If you (a) blindly support and have great fascination towards a particular person or persons, (b) deem them to be beyond question, and / or (c) do not like to hear genuine and healthy criticism, then do not read any further. This letter is written with the purpose and intention that the standard of our AMPS and Wt cadre can be better. By this way, the whole Ananda Marga society will be benefited.

Namaskar,
All are aware that Sadguru Baba has given instructions for all aspects of individual and collective life, including what to do when performing a tree planting ceremony.

GURU'S GUIDELINES FOR TREE-PLANTING CEREMONY

"Plant the tree while mentally reciting guru mantra. Then while pouring some water on the tree, everyone will recite the following with the ácárya/á or a senior person leading:"

Oṋḿ madhu vátá rtáyate madhu kśarantu sindhavah;
Mádhviirnah santvośadhiih.
Madhu naktamutośaso madhumat párthivaḿ rajah;
Madhu dyaorastu nah pitá.
Madhumán no vanaspatirmadhumán astu súryah;
Mádhviirgávo bhavantu nah.
Oṋḿ madhu oṋḿ madhu oṋḿ madhu.

“May the tree planted today prove felicitous for us with its fruits, flowers, fragrance, floral nectar, leaves and shade. May we ourselves prove helpful to the tree through our regular service in providing manure, water and sunshine to it. Oṋḿ shántih, oṋḿ shantih, oṋḿ shantih.” (1)

DURING TREE-PLANTING CEREMONY

To summarize, here are the steps given by Guru for the tree-planting ceremony:

1. Mentally take Guru mantra when planting the tree;

2. A senior person should lead the recitation of the "Omn Madhu..." shloka while pouring water on the tree.

These are the two key steps when performing the tree-planting ceremony.

LOOK WHAT PP DADA HAS DONE

Here we have a clear photo of how PP Dada Vishvadevanandji behaved during this recent tree-planting ceremony. He merely wants to show others that he is deeply engaged in the tree-planting ceremony and that he is environmentally conscious.

But unfortunately, instead of adhering to Sadguru Baba's guidelines and sincerely involving himself in the tree-planting ceremony, PP Dada was merely there for the sake of a photo op. Because his main goal was the photo, not service to Guru and the environment. So his whole approach is complete hypocrisy. This is all his superficial and duplicitous show. Because, in fact, his main aim is the photo shoot and the publicity. That’s why he is looking towards the cameraman.

So this entire manicured drama is for show only. See below how PP Dada is consumed with smiling at the camera while pouring water on the tree. This directly contradicts Guru's teaching. As a senior avadhuta, PP Dada should instead be leading the recitation of the Omn madhu shloka.

Look at the below photo and decide for yourself if PP Dada is smiling at the camera or reciting the shloka.

Indeed, PP Dada is so enthralled with the camera that he is not even looking where he is pouring the water.

The photo should depict Guru’s teachings - not something else. By seeing this photo no one will learn that in our Ananda Marga we have a special tree-planting ceremony for the welfare of the tree etc.

PP DADA SHOULD BE EMBODIMENT OF GURU'S TEACHINGS

Indeed it is an unfortunate presentation. As Purodha Pramukha, PP Dada must be the embodiment of all Guru's teachings, including those guidelines related with the tree-planting ceremony. It was PP Dada’s duty to sincerely engage is this tree-planting ceremony. But PP Dada didn’t approach this duty in a straightforward and dharmic manner. Instead, his presentation was for show only: To make it look like he follows Guru’s every program and to make it look like deeply cares for the natural world. When his inner intention from the very beginning was to be displayed in the photo shoot.

HYPOCRISY OF POLITICAL LEADER DURING

EARTHQUAKE RESCUE OPERATION

In the following quote, Baba is giving the example of a few hypocritical political leaders. In particular, Baba is recounting the tragedy of the Jamalpur earthquake of 15 January 1934. So many people were buried under the debris and rubble of collapsed houses. Some were dead and some were alive, crying out for help. Sincere local volunteers and neighbors were trying hard to remove the debris and rescue the victims / survivors.

In the meantime, a few political leaders came with a cameraman. Those politicians borrowed spades and shovels from volunteers and posed for photos as if they were trying to dig out survivors etc. Immediately after the photo was taken they walked away.

That is the eyewitness account Baba is giving in this below Hindi quote.

Only hypocrites do like this; Ananda Margiis should never conduct themselves in this way. In the life of an Ananda Margii, sincerity is the beginning, sincerity is the middle, and sincerity is the end. The main quality of a sadhaka is sincerity - no hypocrisy. But unfortunately PP Dada’s behaviour is hypocritical and insincere.

PP Dada's tree-planting ceremony was done for show only and has no dharmic value. Just it was an empty, superficial display.

HOW HYPOCRITES DO

Doing something and trying to show something else to others is hypocrisy. For example if someone is sitting in padmasana in full view with their spine straight and their eyes closed in order to impress upon others that, “I am a great yogi because I can sit for four hours without moving”, that is hypocrisy.

Not only that, when that person is not really doing sadhana and just sitting there for show that is doubly dangerous. Firstly it is a waste of time, and secondly all remnants of simplicity are lost - gone; their mind became completely degenerated. Just they are sitting there for their own prestige. Such is the degree to which their own mind became crooked. Thus for them is a double loss.

Verily, there are many examples of hypocrisy that can be given; but here the concerning point is with PP Dada. See how his behaviour is hypocritical. He is very concerned about having his photo taken, but he is not even remotely interested in that tree-planting ceremony. Just he wants to show others that he is very sincere and involved to do the tree planting ceremony according to Sadguru Baba’s guideline. Such is the extreme degree of his hypocrisy.

If he had been sincere then what would he have done? He would have properly engaged in the ceremony according to Caryacarya - not caring about any photo etc. But unfortunately, in PP Dada’s case if the camera is not present he will never participate. All in all this is a very poor show. In that case, what can anyone learn from him when his standard is so low and he rampantly contradicts the word and spirit of Guru’s teachings.

All along the handlers of PP Dada are always trying hard to jack up PP Dada’s image by doing various tricks like putting his seat a little higher than Baba’s seat etc. Plus so many other things are done that are the subject of other discussions. The concluding idea is that here in the tree-planting ceremony, PP Dada’s performance is insincere and hypocritical.

ONE MUST NOT GIVE WAY TO THIS SORT OF HYPOCRISY

Here are a few Baba's teachings & warnings about hypocrisy. The sense is that on the one hand they are trying to highlight a tree-planting ceremony, but instead of bringing Guru's teachings to the forefront, PP Dada was drowned in the notion of highlighting himself by smiling at the camera. Thus, this entire ceremony sadly became one hypocritical display.

Baba says, "Hypocrisy in the human mind is also increased as a result of the influence of negative microvita." (5)

Ananda Marga ideology warns us, "Such people attempt to cover their harmful or defective sentiments under a veil of hypocrisy. This concealing mentality is one aspect of hypocrisy." (6)

Namaskar,
in Him,
Mahaviira

Do's and Don'ts:

Must Not Discourage Fine Arts

"Agriculture, arts, commerce and other developmental work should, as far as possible, be carried out on a cooperative basis."

"Fine arts lead human beings to the trans-sensory realm; hence sádhakas should not discourage fine arts; rather they should support them, directly or indirectly."

"Artists are great benefactors of society, hence take active steps for their protection. For example, before enacting a drama or its translation, enough money for a day's maintenance must be given to the author."

"If a drama or other art performance is staged and a charge is made for tickets, after deducting the incidental expenditure, the remaining money should be distributed among the artists, half on the basis of labour and half on the basis of merit." (1)

~ Please Light My Lamp - Arouse My Devotion ~

"Eso ka'jal ra'ter a'ndha're, hiya' a'lokit kore..." (PS 1926)

Purport:

O' Lord, O' Effulgent Divine Entity, please grace me by coming in my heart, which is as dark as the black night, and make it effulgent. Please light my lamp, arouse my devotion, with Your divine love. O' Parama Purusa, awaken the humanity which is in deep slumber. Please grace one and all.

O' Parama Purusa, except You, no one can wipe away this cimmerian darkness [1]. Without You, humanity will not awaken. For the welfare and enlightenment of this entire universe, please come in everyone's dhya'na. Please come in the crudest sphere of everyone's mind and make it divinely effulgent.

Baba, O' Parama Purusa, I long for You in my mind which is as dark and dreary as a dungeon. I have been desperately and ceaselessly searching You since the dawn of my life. Your charming & loving smile is like an ocean of nectar from the divine world. This divine smile will wipe away all the staticity.

Baba, please shower Your causeless grace and remove the cimmerian darkness and fill my heart and mind with Your divine effulgence...

NOTE FOR PRABHAT SAMGIITA #1926:

[1] Darkness: In this song, the darkness represents dogma, ignorance, and a crude state of mind.
