Daily-life hypocrisy + 4 more

Baba
Daily-life hypocrisy

Namaskar,

Now in this age of overt materialism, superficiality and kapat'ata' [hypocrisy] is a normal aspect of daily living. This manner of expression is rampant in society. Here following is how the problem has become an epidemic and an everyday affair in this modern era.

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "Apologizing with 'Oh, sorry!', after knowingly or unknowingly bumping into a person, without inquiring to what extent the person is hurt, is considered enough refinement, and this is the Law of so-called Good Manners. But this does not reflect a really sincere expression of heart." (1)

With the rise of uncontrolled materialism, it is commonplace for people to hypocritically say something that they do not really mean. And that gets accepted also. Unfortunately, this is the way things have become normalised nowadays. The entire society is not at fault. Rather, step by step, a few have sown the seeds of hypocrisy and goaded millions into adopting it. Gradually over time innocent, naive, and well-intentioned people have gotten caught in this web. By looking around we can easily see that this "oh sorry" expression is not the only case; so many similar phrases exist such as: "excuse me", "pardon me", “I did not mean to…” etc. All these are regularly used in materialistic society.

Lost capacity of deep thinking

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "Generally we see that the human thinking capacity becomes somewhat dull in the wake of a major catastrophe. This accounts for the present psychic state of the human race which, as a result of two major wars which took place within a short period of time, is suffering from various miseries and tribulations. Humanity is at present unable to think, read or comprehend anything serious. Even artists and sáhityikas who are capable of thinking or discussing serious matters do not feel any urge to do so, thinking that if they do, they will not get any encouragement or patronage from the public." (2)

These days most people cannot think deeply on any given subject. Due to a lack of analytical thinking skills, when a fad comes into existence then mindlessly people start following that trend. That is what happens with hypocrisy and other superficial displays in day to day modern life. If you talk with anyone about this they may become irritated and think this is fine. Unfortunately, this shows their shallow way of thinking. Because in reality, no form of hypocrisy should be appreciated.

This brings up a related matter: In certain geographical areas, people hug and kiss when they see each other. When they have true love and affection for one another - such as how a mother kisses her baby then that is genuine; but doing this hypocritically is not appropriate. Due to a lack of deep thinking, the general population gets latched on to these types of dogmas. We should be careful.

How Baba deals with hypocrites

For Ananda Margiis, spiritual progress is the aim of life. That is the main thing: To reach the Goal - Parama Purusa. In spirituality, simplicity is the key quality. In Ananda Vanii #54, Baba guides us to keep all our dealings in life straight like sastaunga pranam. There should not be an ounce of duplicity or hypocrisy. Yet in today's materialistic era, hypocrisy has become an essential aspect of daily life. There are numerous examples of how hypocrisy works in day to day life in this present era. We should be aware and keep our distance from this dark element of materialism. In the last 5 - 6 decades, advertising and materialism have increased multifold and people in the west / materialistic nations began suffering more on the mental plane.

The tricky part is that hypocrisy spreads like wildfire. To invent it is one thing - but once invented then invariably others start doing it, consciously or unconsciously. That is why we should all be alert because these habits and trends can easily get latched onto one's personae. And that destroys the whole personality. So everyone should be aware as this is spreading all over. And this is just one of the many aspects of pseudo-culture that is getting exported to all corners of this earth.

Baba deals very strongly with those following the path of hypocrisy. Those present remember how during dharma samiiksa hypocrites were pointed out strongly and cured. In contrast, simple people who committed innocent errors were not dealt with in that way - rather, quite mildly in comparison to those hypocrites.

To ensure that hypocrisy did not take root or thrive in our Marga, the first thing Baba did in any reporting session was to expose any and all hypocrisy. Those who did wrongs but were not hypocrites were often pardoned mentally, while those who were hypocrites were dealt with more fiercely. This was Baba's normal mode of doing. This set the tone that no one should resort to hypocrisy in any form as it erodes the entire human personality.

Bhakti & hypocrisy cannot co-exist

When people become introduced to new fads, right or wrong, quickly they become habituated. In particular, in this era, people have become habituated with hypocrisy. This has become the norm, unfortunately. In this present era, people think hypocrisy is a part of life. Hearing this assertion about hypocrisy, some may feel reacted and contend: "What is the need to raise this point - hypocrisy is OK."

The main concern is that if we embrace hypocrisy then our spiritual life will be hampered. Simplicity will disappear; yet that quality of simplicity is needed in order to lead a  proper spiritual life. In its place, hypocrisy will rear its head; but hypocrisy is poison. If hypocrisy makes its nest, our spiritual life will suffer. Hypocrisy and true spirituality cannot co-habit. Where there is one, the other cannot remain. Hypocrisy means being self-engrossed and only thinking about one's own little existence. This is the well-known fact: Hypocrisy itself entails presenting oneself in a false manner in order to get some "self-glory". In that case God is distant; because then one's own unit mind is only absorbed in one's own selfish thoughts - not Parama Purusa.

Conclusion

We should always encourage straightforwardness and sincerity in life. Hypocrisy of any sort only rots one's mental arena and inner feeling.

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "Indulging in hypocrisy is not beneficial- rather harmful and negative. To be civilized means to give a refined form to everything, and it is inseparably connected with education. But if refinement takes second place and hypocritical behaviour becomes the primary means of expression, that cannot be called civilization or education. If a man who is invited to a dinner party only nibbles at the savouries, saying, “I am sorry, I cannot eat any more,” then goes home to devour a hearty meal and later brags that he eats very little, an impression of abstemiousness may be created in the minds of others, but there is a complete lack of straightforwardness in his behaviour. In modern society many aspects of civilization and education are of this sort." (3)

Baba's teachings on hypocrisy

Here Baba explains how the hypocrisy can be controlled from ana'hata cakra.

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "The ana'hata cakra, situated in the centre of the chest, which controls twelve propensities: [including] kapat'ata' [hypocrisy]." (4)

Ananda Marga Caryacarya says, "Do not forgive [a hypocrite] till his / her nature is reformed." (5)

Here are more of Guru’s teachings and warnings about hypocrisy.

Ananda Marga philosophy guides us, "Some people wear a mask of culture [of civility] in public, but in private pursue personal or class interests. This hypocrisy has no place in the human society." (6)

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "Hypocrisy in the human mind is also increased as a result of the influence of negative microvita." (7)

Neo-Humanism teaches us, "Such people attempt to cover their harmful or defective sentiments under a veil of hypocrisy. This concealing mentality is one aspect of hypocrisy." (8)

Fake concern a veneer of sympathy

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “If you consciously or unconsciously bump into someone and say, “Oh sorry,” without enquiring whether the person is hurt, that is enough to show one’s refinement. Although this is a sign of what we call courtesy, it does not reflect genuine magnanimity of mind. The person’s education will only be seen if he or she liberally applies a healing balm to the wound of the injured person – if the offender tries his or her utmost to mitigate the troubles of the injured person, even at his or her own expense. Then even the omission of the words “Oh sorry” will not matter.”
“Many things that are done in the name of education and refinement are simply hypocrisy. For example, instead of trying to remove the distress of their neighbours, some people merely ask, “What did you have with your rice today?” When the child replies, “Mummy only cooked spinach,” the enquirer merely replies, “Oh what a pity! Your family must be in great difficulty.” As they say “great difficulty” they emphasize the words to give their fake concern a veneer of sympathy. This is hardly an indication of genuine social concern or magnanimity of mind.” (9)

Hypocrisy: later brags that he eats very little

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “The main feature of what, in the modern sense, we call education or civility is that one does not have to take on the burden of others’ troubles; one only has to pay lip-service to them. If people actually do something constructive to alleviate the distress of others, this may hurt their own interests to some small extent; but if people merely take up the cause of others in parliament, they can accomplish two things at one time. First, they will not be put to any trouble themselves, and secondly, they can gain adulation very cheaply. Those who protest against such hypocrisy are extremely vulnerable to accusations of incompetence or of being the agents of vested interests. If hypocrites declare that others are fools, should we accept their pronouncements with bowed heads?”
“To be civilized means to give a refined form to everything, and it is inseparably connected with education. In modern society many aspects of civilization and education are of this sort.” (10)

How it all got started

Here is another example to note. Those doing business want to promote and masquerade themselves as the well-wishers of society. Toward that end, they say they are "serving the community", when in fact their each and every action is aimed toward exploiting others for personal profit. So this is another form of unbridled hypocrisy these days.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

The basic formula is that once any trend gets started then simple, innocent members of the general public get pulled in that same direction. The general people are not malicious or mal-intended; just they become habituated to that tradition or dogma. So many dogmas get introduced in this way. One person started it, and then it became common.

Smiling for the camera

Senselessly smiling into the camera is not good as that is a superficial display and undermines one's real happiness. Some people, who are habituated to smiling superficially, may get overwhelmed by hearing that we should not follow this type of hypocrisy. About this we should be clear. I do not say if anyone is attending a jovial function and they are smiling and someone takes a picture then that is bad. That is not the point. Smiling in and of itself is not the problem. It has become the custom "to smile for the camera" in order to show others that they are really happy, regardless of how they feel internally. This is all one superficial display - sheer hypocrisy. Yet this became the norm.

Not just in front of the camera, but in standard conversations this started happening as well. People feel the need to smile in order to show their happiness, when in fact they are really feeling empty inside. This is the sad state of affairs.

Regarding the dogma of smiling into the camera, we cannot say that all Europeans / westerners are like that, but most got carried into that flow. Even then, it is not limited up to the Americas and Europe or the USA. As western pseudo-culture spreads more and more, this dogma of smiling in front of the camera is also spreading to various parts of the globe. And not just this trend, but numerous others like it.

So although this "smile at the camera" epidemic is primarily a disease of materialists, this hypocritical approach can and is leap-frogging all around this globe.

Likewise, when you go to the 'customer service desk' of any large or small business, then the attendants there always put on a big smile and "promise" to help you. But their smile and their help is limited up to the extent that they feel it is profitable for their business - nothing more than that. Straightaway, it can be said that hypocrites started this negative trend. It began when individuals, who want to present themselves as something that they are not, adopted this way of dealing.

Tune of Your songs

"Ogo, prabhu, tomár liilá apár, bojhár buddhi neiko ámár..." (Prabhat Samgiita #2615)

Purport:

Parama Purusa, Your divine liila is infinite and limitless and has no bounds. Baba, You are the Supreme Entity and I am a little human being. I do not possess the requisite intellect to understand Your cosmic play. It is far beyond the realm of my understanding. I ask for many things - some good and some bad. You are so gracious - You only bestow those which are for my welfare. When I ask for anything harmful, You never fulfill my request. You graciously overlook my baser and degrading desires.

Supreme One, I am floating on and on in the rasa (flow) of Your cosmic liila. Only by Your wish have I been granted the language to express myself. Baba, when I am burdened in pain, suffering, and sorrow, I always find comfort and solace in the tune of Your songs, by Your grace. In my happiness, Your musical compositions always bring more joy.

Parama Purusa Baba, You are so near and dear to me. You help me in all my troubles and circumstances. You are the most resplendent One and revered in all the various layers - on all planes and in all circumstances. Baba, You're the essence of nectar...

Note for Prabhat Samgiita #2615

Parama Purusa has an infinite number of qualities and attributions. One of them is amrta or sudha sar, i.e. essence of nectar.

Ananda Marga ideology guides us, "Every spiritual realization – from the higher spiritual realm to the comparatively low psycho-spiritual realm – comes about through the medium of hormones secreted by the ájiṋá cakra and the sahasrára cakra (these hormones are called sudhá in scriptural language). The hormone secretion of the Brahmarandhra, the supreme gland of the human body, is partly controlled by the moon, and the moon is also called soma; hence that nectar is called somarasa or somadhárá. This somadhárá invigorates the lower glands of the human body and intoxicates a spiritual aspirant with joy. Ordinary people cannot experience this divine joy, because crude thoughts result in somarasa being burnt up in the mental sphere (in the pituitary gland and vicinity). But a sádhaka feels a great intoxication at the time this amrta is being secreted. When those who are not sádhakas observe this condition, they mistake it for something else." (1)

Parama Purusa is sudha sar, i.e. essence of nectar.

How to become superman

Ananda Marga ideology says, "Spiritual thirst is the speciality, or rather the special characteristic of human beings. And there lies the difference between man and the other animals. Where there is no spiritual thirst in a man, physically he may be like a man, but actually, psychologically, he is not a man. So this special determination of human beings should always be encouraged so that a man may develop from an ordinary human being to a superman." (1)

Why minimum requirements

Prout philosophy states, “Diversity is the law of nature. So there cannot be any hard and fast rule about guaranteed minimum requirements. They will vary according to time, space and person. A few persons with extraordinary physical, metaphysical or intellectual ability may demand something more than ordinary people. Special amenities have to be provided for them. Certain items like food, housing, education, clothing and medical facilities are minimum requirements.”

“Nothing is stationary; everything is moving. So the minimum requirements and special amenities will also undergo changes with the changes in time, space and person. What should be the approach of Proutists? There should be a never-ending endeavour to minimize the gap between minimum requirements and special amenities. Minimum requirements will take the place of special amenities and extraordinary persons will get more items as special amenities.”

“The third Five Year Plan prepared by the planning commission of India presents an unwholesome picture – it presents unsystematic and unplanned government activities and the planned exploitation by vested interests. Though there has been inordinately high investment, the purchasing power of labourers has not been sufficient for them to meet the minimum requirements. Hence, while on the one hand labourers received less consumable goods due to less purchasing power, on the other hand entrepreneurs have captured excessive purchasing power and consumable goods causing excessive disparities in wealth. Economic balance has been upset. The major part of the capital investment went to the entrepreneurs and a microscopic fraction went to the labourers. There is therefore no middle class people in India of the type that existed in pre-independence days. Today well-dressed labourers have become the so-called middle class.” (1)

Main essence: link with Him + 4 more

Baba
Main essence: link with Him

Namaskar,

On the path of Ananda Marga sadhana, bhaktas think of Parama Purusa Baba in a personal way. In dhyana, in dreams, and even in a wakeful state, a sadhaka has a completely intimate and personal link with Baba. And Baba responds and goads us to come still closer. So the inner link with Him is that of the Personal God where one relates to Him as a Father, Friend, or even more close.

A bhakta thinks of Parama Purusa as a Personal Entity, but jinaniis think of Parama Purusa as being like air, electricity, or waves of invisible energy etc, not a personal Entity whom one can talk to etc. Bhaktas communicate directly with Him as Dearmost Parama Purusa in a very personal and intimate way. Seeing, hearing, and touching Him they express their feelings and seek His grace. It is a very personal affair wherein their heart becomes completely satiated and their longing quenched. In contrast, jinaniis always remain dry.
http://anandamarganewsbulletin.blogspot.com

Just like how mother remembers the child

Think of it this way. If a mother's child is sick then with her deep love that mother will always remember and see her child's face in her mind wherever she goes. Same is the case with bhaktas - they always ideate on Him in a personal way. Bhaktas keep Parama Purusa Baba's divine form in their mind's eye. In this way, they pass their days and nights. So there is no question of any theoretical, jinanii, or impersonal approach. Ours is an intimate link with a Personal God.

Ananda Marga ideology states, "Parama Puruśa is Táraka Brahma; He is your iśt́a, your personal God. This is not a theoretical concept. The human mind can be delighted with some philosophical ideas, but the heart is not satisfied thus...iśt́a means the personal God with whom all unit beings can establish a relation of love and affection, to whom they can reveal their pains and pleasures, and surrender themselves and take the safest shelter in Him. That Parama Puruśa, that personal God is not the God of philosophy. Human beings cannot establish a very close relationship with something theoretical. If one closely follows Bhágavata dharma, the final result will be the realization of the Supreme, becoming one with one’s iśt́a." (1)

Joy from personal God

Not only is Parama Purusa Baba with us, but He is with us in the most personal manner. In Ananda Marga, every bhakta thinks of Him, visualises Him in dhyana, and embraces Him as their Personal Entity - their Personal God.
http://anandamarganewsbulletin.blogspot.com

Ananda Marga ideology says, "Human beings want a personal God whom they will accept as their object of adoration, who will hold out sublime hopes...“Do not fear, do not be perturbed, Parama Puruśa is with you.” To become involved in useless controversies regarding the Supreme Entity is meaningless. What is really important is to meditate on the personal God and move towards Him. And this personal God is the Singular Entity, the Táraka Brahma...Táraka Brahma is not only the liberator, the object of adoration, but also the loving Father. He is the eternal companion of unit beings in their joys and sorrows – not a God in the distant sky but an understanding Lord in the house where they dwell." (2)

Jinaniis have impersonal relationship with Parama Purusa

In Ananda Marga, there are three accepted paths: jinana, karma, and bhakti. Suppose a person is an adherent of jinana marga. They cannot comprehend having Parama Purusa in a personal way, but gradually when they proceed onwards then one fine morning they will feel His closeness. It takes time, but eventually it happens, by His grace. Ultimately all have to come on the path of bhakti.

Jinana margiis follow a dry, impersonal approach. Such dry jinaniis think Parama Purusa is like air, electricity, gravity, waves of invisible energy etc, not a personal Entity. Such dry jinaniis cannot conceive of relating to Parama Purusa in personal way. Whereas bhaktas communicate with Parama Purusa Baba in a very intimate and personal manner.
http://anandamarganewsbulletin.blogspot.com

Jiṋániis & karmiis have no future

Ananda Marga ideology says "For the jiṋániis, the intellectuals, the Goal is merely theoretical and impersonal. How can they expect a theoretical and impersonal entity to help them – and how can the jiṋániis even approach Him when for them His very existence is impersonal? So the jiṋániis, although they have recognized the importance of jiṋána or knowledge, have no future. They simply waste their valuable time, which is a very short span of hardly one hundred years." (3)

Conclusion

On the path of Ananda Marga, Taraka Brahma is the Guru. So this is the ideal way to cultivate a personal relation with God. As His disciples, we feel Baba is the Loving Father, the trusting Friend, or an even closer relation. By practicing Ananda Marga sadhana, in each and every work and in one’s day to day existence, it is very easy to develop a personal relationship with Him. Every sadhaka should wholeheartedly embrace this opportunity and delve deep into the realm of bhakti. Adopting an impersonal approach as jinaniis do means that sadhaka will remain dry, and thus cannot reach the final destination. To grow bhakti, a relation with Taraka Brahma is a must.
http://anandamarganewsbulletin.blogspot.com

Namaskar,
in Him,
Samarpan’

Personal Entity in human form

Every sincere bhakta and sadhaka has been blessed by Parama Purusa to realise Him in their sadhana, and in each and every moment of their lives. This is the case with all. A bhakta knows that Parama Purusa resides within. That is the specialty of the Ananda Marga tantra meditation and having Taraka Brahma as the Guru.

He reminds us again and again that He resides within each and every human heart, and that He is there in dhyana - always. Every sincere bhakta experiences Parama Purusa internally in their meditation and still bhaktas communicate with Parama Purusa and receive His grace in their sadhana, and in every big and small work, as a Personal Entity in human form.

Personal link - by His grace

In our Ananda Marga, bhaktas think of Baba in a personal way. In dhyana, in dreams, and even in wakeful state, a sadhaka has a completely intimate and personal link with Baba. And Baba responds and goads us to come still closer. So the inner link with Him is that of the Personal God where one relates to Him as a Father, Friend, or even more close.
http://anandamarganewsbulletin.blogspot.com

Verily, of all of the aspects of Ananda Marga tantra, in my heart I hold this aspect the most dear: How Baba has showered His grace and allowed me to have a personal link with Him. This is most special. And I know so many margiis feel this way. Taraka Brahma's form holds tremendous significance for us: Always we continue to connect with His form in our dhyana and ideation.

For Ananda Margiis, Parama Purusa Baba is a Personal God with a distinct form and we communicate with Him always in dhyana, sadhana, and every moment of our day to day lives, always.

Surgery was known long back

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "There is a very interesting example of surgery. The cousin of Krsna (the son of the sister of Lord Krsna's father) was Jarasandha, the king of Magadha, with his capital at Rajgir. At the time of the birth of Jarasandha, the child had to be cut out of the womb. People saw this child and threw it in the cremation ground. Then there came a very famous non-Aryan (raksasii) lady doctor known as Jara. She stitched the child in a proper surgical operation and saved it. Since the lady Jara joined (sandhi) the pieces of the child's body, the name of the child became Jarasandha. This proves that the people were well acquainted with surgery." (1)

Spirituality & unity

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "The unity that grows from the collective psychology in the social, psychic and economic spheres, is the first step towards a greater unity. This can lead to the formation of a nation or greater internal unity in a country. But once the problem out of which the sentiment grew is solved, the common link is broken. That is why for permanent unity a spiritual outlook is necessary. Every human being has a spiritual thirst. Knowingly or unknowingly, human beings are searching for the Supreme Entity. Yet, ignorant of the right path, they remain confused. One of life's great tragedies is that so many people do not find the object of their search. Their entire life is spent searching everywhere, but in vain. If people are shown the right way, the entire humanity will converge on the same path. As fellow travellers on the same journey, they will move towards the same supreme goal with unison, with a single rhythm. So for the unity of the entire humanity, the indispensable factor is spirituality. This supreme treasure teaches human beings that Parama Puruśa is the Supreme Father, Parama Prakrti [[the Supreme Operative Principle]] is their Supreme Mother, and the entire universe is their homeland." (1)

In the above teaching there are two central points.

Firstly, in creating temporary unity, people rally around all kinds of sentiments. And so long as their particular problem is not solved, those people remain united around their common cause. But when their problem is solved then their unity dissolves. For instance, those living in a village are fearful of wild animals remain united to ward off those dangerous animals. But when the problem is solved, and those wild animals disappear, those villagers will no longer remain united.

Second, to achieve long-term unity, true spirituality is needed. When the goal is Parama Purusa, people will not be selfish or narrow-minded. They will not fight over petty and trifling affairs. Rather, they will feel that all are the creation of Parama Purusa - and all are my kith and kin. They will not exploit others, but rather help them.

Unfortunately, when spirituality is polluted by dogmas like mahaprayan, then infighting starts. Those interest groups push to keep their dogma on top, and carry on with their exploitation for their petty gain. In that case, unity is ruined.

In our Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha, to instill unity we must wipe away all dogmas. Unity cannot coexist with religious dogmas like mahaprayan. Those are the central ideas presented in the above passage.

Education & mother tongue

Prout philosophy states, “Primary school education should be in the people’s language, and primary school books... should be introduced.” (1)

Prout philosophy states, “If people’s mother tongue is suppressed, it is equivalent to strangling them. The suppression of people’s mother tongue is a sin.” (2)

Prout philosophy states, “Students may feel inconvenience if the medium of instruction is English only or if the question papers are in English only.” (3)

Baba's system is: Education in one's mother tongue, with one class being that of English as the current international language. Everything in Ananda Marga is natural; and, it is natural that people should learn in their mother tongue. In addition, people should be taught English so they can communicate with others around the world.

In Spain people learn engineering, medicine, physics, chemistry, mathematics, and all other subjects in Spanish. And in all these fields, in Spain professionals themselves work and communicate in Spanish. The same is the case with students and professionals in France, Italy, Germany, Denmark, Japan, Taiwan, China, Russia, Brazil-- all around the world, people study and work in all the scientific and technical fields in their mother tongue. The only places this is not the case are countries which were exploited by another country and had that imposing country's language thrust upon them as something superior. For that reason, students and professionals in Africa study and work using the language of their colonizer country: those who were controlled by France use French; those who were controlled by England use English etc. India falls in this category of countries around the world which were exploited by another country and had that country's language imposed upon them as something superior. That is the only reason English is used in India in engineering and other professional fields. In the rest of the countries around the world-- the great majority of countries-- all the professional fields are taught and conducted in the local language of that home country. And that is how it should be.

Engineering does not need the grammar of any particular language; that is why if one asks an engineering student or an engineer in France what language they would prefer to learn / work in-- French or English-- without having to think for a moment they will say "French". Everyone prefers their own mother tongue; that is the natural way. And that is Baba's teaching. Ananda Marga philosophy is very natural.

AMPS leaders following in footsteps of religious exploiters

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “The vipras [religious leaders ] have invented and are still inventing new ways of exploiting different communities of people in different parts of the world. In some places they have lured people with the prospect of eternal heaven, injecting into them at the same time the fear of eternal hell. By claiming the doctrine of some particular vipra leader to be the word of God, they have blocked the natural expression of the human intellect and made people intellectually bankrupt. With the intention of permanently securing for themselves an exalted position in the eyes of the ordinary people, some vipra leaders have declared themselves to be the incarnation or the appointed prophet of God. Through their own so-called scriptures, they have indirectly let the common people know that no one can achieve the same proximity to God as they – so that an inferiority complex will remain forever in the minds of the masses, and due to this inferiority complex the masses will always follow their teachings, either out of fear or out of devotion. That is why even intellectual people have fallen into their trap and have been compelled to say, Vishváse miláy vastu, tarke vahu dúr ["The goal is achieved not by reason but by faith"] or Majhab men ákl ká dakhl nahii haen ["There is no room for reason in religion"]. (1)

Note: The above historical teaching given by Baba about the Middle Ages / Dark Ages is also true today in our Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha. The handlers of PP Dada give him a divine status so they can inject a complex in the minds of Wts and margiis that PP Dada is between Baba and margiis. Without PP’s blessing, marriages will not be successful. Whatever PP Dada says everyone must follow blindly. Don’t use your brain - PP has special powers and a direct connection to Baba. These are the types of dogmas the handlers of PP are injecting. Various rituals have been implemented to show that PP is almost equal to Baba. That is why PP is not raising the Jai slogan or attending dharmacakra etc. Unfortunately so-called intellectuals also became trapped: Because of their post they are blindly following this dogma. That is the sad state of affairs. Now is the time for right-thinking Wts and margiis to come forward and oppose this dogma.

Humans have pushed themselves to the brink

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Due to the foolishness of human beings many creatures and objects will not survive the period fixed for them by nature. Prior to their stipulated period of longevity they will be swallowed up by eternity. Human beings due to their utmost folly have annihilated numerous objects and thus prepared their own funeral pyre. Such folly on the part of human beings is unbearable. Human beings must be cautious from now on. They must restructure their thoughts, plans and activities in accordance with the dictates of ecology. There is no alternative.” (1)
