Way to improve memory + 3 more

Baba
Way to improve memory

Namaskar,

One day, margii brother Dayal came to me. I was asking about his well-being, and I came to know that his son could not get through one exam for entering his chosen profession. Dayal was lamenting the fact that his son could not pass.

Story of Mr. Dayal & his son

Then I came to know that his son has very poor memory. The boy works hard, yet he forgets many things. His student life was also like that.

I asked Dayal, 'Did you not do anything to increase the memory of your son. Your son is laborious, but even then could not get through the exam?'

In a sad mood he said that, 'We have visited both allopathic and homeopathic doctors, as well as ayurvedic physicians. Whatever liquid, tablet, or palatable type of medicine they recommended we tried, but a satisfactory result did not come.'
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

And Dayal further told, 'Last year I visited DMS, and talked with different margiis and dadas. But I could not get a proper answer from them either, on this point.'

With interest, he purchased some Baba's books also. And then further Dayal told, that after reading, he applied a certain tool which Baba has given. That also did not work.

After listening to this last response, I became very curious to know in detail, what and which teaching of Baba. Then Dayal told this following guideline.

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "The psycho-spiritual approach which strengthens the memory, and makes the intellect omniscient. A good way to stabilize the memory is to meditate on someone you have seen or heard about who possesses a unique photographic memory. This will increase your own memory." (1)

Understanding Baba's books is not easy

In a patient manner, I asked him, 'What is wrong in this. How have you applied it?'
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

He told, 'As it is written in this book, I followed it exactly.'

Dayal further said, 'One of the brilliant professors of the university has gold medals in more than ten subjects. That professor has a unique memory. So my son was meditating regularly on him. That also did not work.'

After listening intently, I thought that this is the time to interrupt. First of all, I was thinking that to understand Baba's books is not very easy. Many points Baba spoke directly, but there are many aspects of His teachings which Baba gave in a more indirect manner. Thus, to understand Guru's discourses it needs a certain degree of vivek.

Dayal is a simple margi. He is confused, as I was confused in my early years as a margii. In his confusion, Dayal advised his son to meditate on the gold medal winning, brilliant university professor. So now it became my duty to bring him onto the right path

I explained to Dayal that, 'You see, in this teaching Baba is indirectly talking about Parama Purusa. Look at it in this way. Baba indirectly spoke that, "Meditate on someone you have seen or heard about who possesses a unique photographic memory".'

I continued, 'In this above phrase Baba is not referring to any human being. Rather, by this way, indirectly Baba is talking about Parama Purusa.'

Baba indirectly told, "Meditate on someone you have seen or heard about who possesses a unique photographic memory."

In summary, I stated, 'It is quite clear that this teaching is related with the dhyana of Sadguru Taraka Brahma - not with the university professor. And that very dhyana of Parama Purusa will increase the memory. Baba's making reference to dhyana and memory is not a one-time event. In many places, Baba has discussed how dhyana helps in increasing memory.'
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Dhyana & enhancing memory

Baba's important mandate on enhancing memory is doing dhyana sadhana, i.e. sixth lesson.

Here is one of Baba's unique teachings where He is indirectly referring to Parama Purusa. Some other people may not be able to understand Baba's below teaching, but any devotee will certainly recognise that in the below citation Baba is talking about the dhyana of Ananda Marga.

Baba says, "The psycho-spiritual approach which strengthens the memory, and makes the intellect omniscient. A good way to stabilize the memory is to meditate on someone you have seen or heard about who possesses a unique photographic memory. This will increase your own memory." (2)

By dhyana our mind becomes like His mind - in which case there is nothing in this universe that we will not be able to remember.

“I will not allow any portion of my mind to wander”

Baba's next mandate for developing strong memory recall is to be pointed and concentrated. If one is studying chemistry, one should not also be talking on the phone and listening to music at the same time. Then you will not be able to fully remember the subject of chemistry. Because the mind cannot simultaneously involve in more than one work. The mind will be bifurcated and the memory will be retarded.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Baba says, "One mental flow is engaged in memorizing the subjects being studied, while another mental flow entertains various other thoughts such as: 'What will my parents and seniors say if I fail in the examination? The juniors in my locality will cease to respect me, they will say all kinds of unpleasant things...' and so on. Obviously that boy's mental power has become bifurcated." (3)

So the mind should be completely fixed on what you want to remember. If the mind is in a fickle state or moving from one pabulum to another - from one object to another - then remembering any point will be impossible. Fixed concentration is needed. At the same time, one should not entertain other types of thoughts - all mental diversions should be pushed aside.

Baba says, "What should a wise person do in such circumstances? He should think nothing else except: 'I will memorize whatever I'm reading now, without bothering about my gains if I succeed or my losses if I fail in the task. I will not allow any portion of my mind to flow in an undesirable direction, and thus I will keep my mind exclusively engrossed in the task of learning'." (4)

Accordingly, we should only think about that which we wish to learn and remember. For instance, if one is walking down the street and remembering their ista mantra, then one should not also think about that when they get home they have to pay their taxes nor should they think about the fact that last year their business sales were low. If one wants to remember their ista mantra, then that sadhaka should think about their mantra - period. No active attention should be paid to any other thought, word, or idea. By this process, one will develop a stronger and stronger ability to remember their ista mantra.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Have interest in the subject matter

One other component for developing a strong memory is that one can generally create pointed concentration only if the topic is of interest and value to them. If anyone thinks that something is useless or unimportant, then they will not be able to concentrate properly and hence will not remember that idea or teaching.

For instance, if one goes vegetable shopping then upon their return they will most certainly remember what they purchased and how much it cost, but they will not remember all the faces of the other customers or recall what other people purchased. Because those things are not important to them. So if you want to remember any particular topic, then you must develop an interest in that subject. And if you are not interested in that subject you will never remember the idea.

Point of memory: repetition needed

Baba's next guideline for developing a strong and proper memory is regular repetition. For instance, if we want to remember a sutra or shloka or one of Baba's discourses, then first we must follow Guru’s aforementioned teachings about (a) pointed concentration to the subject matter, and (b) cultivating a sincere interest in the topic. But that in and of itself will not be enough. The human mind has its limitations and over time we will forget. In that case, to keep the point alive in the mind regular repetition is needed.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Just as advertisers play and post their message again and again to keep the point alive, we are to follow the same approach except with dharmic teachings. We are using Baba's books and audio cassettes etc as external stimuli to keep His teachings fresh in the mind. In the beginning we may need to review by reading or listening to the topic monthly or even weekly. Thereafter, the span of time between review sessions can increase to 3 months, 6 months, or even yearly, until finally we reach a point when those ideas are fully rooted in the mind and we have them for life - they will not be forgotten. So the above is an excellent way to remember good ideas.

Conclusion

Baba, being merciful, has given numerous ways of heightening the power of recollection. By keenly adhering to His guidelines, everyone can be greatly benefited, in numerous ways. So all sadhakas should aim to excel in this arena. And by sincerely following His teachings, it becomes quite evident how and why multitasking is harmful.

In Him,
Devaraj

Eighty-year-old person with memory of a twenty five-year-old

Baba says, "Over the age of fifty both the body and the mind start their decline. The power of memory diminishes and people start to forget things. This is the rule. But through the practice of vista'ra sadhana, this decline checks. Even an eighty year old person is able to keep the memory as fresh as a twenty five year old person. In the mental sphere, the result may be much more evident than in the physical sphere. Normally people hear, learn, and forget. But by the practice of sadhana, when the nerve cells get strengthened, dhruva smrti comes. Then one does not forget easily. In exactly the same way, by the dint of higher spiritual practice, one can bring about the expansion of oneself...Human beings become omniscient, become one with Parama Purusa. Nothing is impossible through the practice of sadhana." (5)

Why one is unable to remember

Baba says, "One whose mental power is weak, whose nerve-cells are feeble, who has little will-power, who cannot make his mind singularly pointed or concentrate sharply, has a short memory. He is unable to remember what has been seen or thought after a lapse of time." (6)

Baba says, "The human mind has two functions - thinking and memorizing. The more the thinking capacity increases the more the power of memory develops. The nerve cells also change, leading to a corresponding change in the nerve fibres. These changes create a stir and a revolution in the world of thought." (7)

The best way to increase memory

Ananda Marga ideology states, "Many people have asked me how they can increase their power of memory. Personally, I know quite a few secrets in this regard, as well as a number of physical exercises which increase the power of memory. In our 16 Points there are a number of psychic exercises which also help. In my experience, however, the quickest way is to meditate on that person who has a tremendously powerful memory." (8)

Baba says, "The exact mental reproduction of what has been previously perceived is called smrti or memory. For instance, you once perceived an elephant by observing a real elephant and seeing its huge body, legs, eyes, ears, nose and trunk. The physical form of the elephant struck the retina of your eyes creating a vibration in your optical fluid, and was ultimately imprinted in your mind as the image of the elephant. Now some time later when you see an animal with the same type of limbs as those of your previously perceived elephant, you immediately conclude that this animal must also be an elephant. Your conclusion is based on your previous perception. This is memory." (9)

We all have room for growth and improvement; we should better understand memory and the functioning of mind. Baba has outlined distinct ways to sharpen memory and hence enhance the quality of life. We should learn and practice these points, and share them with all we know.

Unusual point about kiirtana

Here below is an English summary of Baba’s Bangla teaching from Shabda Cayanika:

The following describes how and to what degree human beings are aware about their own unit consciousness (Shiva'tma). As well as how they come in contact with their shiva'tma.

For example, it is just like when one looks in the mirror then one does not see their real self, but rather a reflection of that. Or it is similar to when one awakens from a deep sleep then they can recall only part of their dream, and some aspects of their dream they cannot remember. Or perhaps, more precisely, they can only remember a reflection of their dream-- and not the dream itself.

In contrast, there are other occasions where one looks at their own reflection in the water and they can clearly see their reflected image. But still that is not one's entire being. It remains but a reflection. Just like if one sees a reflection of a mango in the water then that is just a reflection and not the real mango.

In reality only we come in contact with our unit consciousness when we sing kiirtana and some bliss comes. Then we come in contact with our shiva'tma.

So in the spiritual field one comes in contact with their own unit consciousness after singing spiritually vibrated music like kiirtana or bhajans. For this reason, such types of devotional chanting or singing is highly essential in the life of a sadhaka. And when one comes in momentary contact with their own unit consciousness while singing kiirtana this is known as Gandharva loka. One can only feel the bliss of kiirtan when their mind reaches into Ghandharva loka. (1)

Central defect of capitalism

Prout philosophy states, “Human expressions are trifarious. Human beings have unquenchable, infinite physical longings and out of these physical longings capitalism came into existence. Capitalists toil day and night for money. This may be a natural desire but physical objectivity is finite, hence the infinite desire to accumulate finite physical objects is a psychic ailment.”

“Human beings also have unquenchable, infinite psychic longings, and out of these excessive psychic longings psychic ailments arise and people become abnormal. The object of psychic longings associated with physicalities is also finite, but the object of pure psychic longing is infinite. Your psychic body and physical objectivity are always separate and so the seed of dualism arises. But the attainment of spiritual objectivity means bridging the gulf between the self and the object, and in this attainment lies peace. The psychic ailments mentioned above also lead to clash with others and create many have-nots. We have to divert physical longings to psychic and spiritual longings to avoid a fratricidal war, and thereby safeguard human rights.” (1)

In no way indicative of the glory of human intellect

“Despite its advent onto this earth many thousands of years ago, humanity is not yet capable of building a well-integrated and universal human society. This is in no way indicative of the glory of human intellect and erudition. You, who have understood the predicament, realized the urgency, seen the naked dance of evil and heard the hypocritical and raucous laughter of the divisive forces should throw yourselves into this noble task without further delay. When the ends are just and noble, success is inevitable.” (Ananda Vanii #42)

Story: strength from Iśt́a + 5 more

Baba
Story: strength from Iśt́a

Note: This letter is only for those who have reverence for Sadguru Baba Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji and try to follow His Ananda Marga ideology.

Namaskar,

Here is a very unique story about one sadhaka's non-compromising strictness and faith in the sanctity of Ista and adarsha.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Ghastly attitude towards Ananda Marga

One very senior margii, Shrii Bhagavan jii, from Pathargama Village, Godda district (Bihar), was an LFT and working as an Ananda Marga school teacher. This was the pre-emergency period: Baba was in jail, and many negative articles were printed in the newspaper against Ananda Marga Pracarka Samgha. Anti-social elements were making jokes about and ridiculing Ananda Marga whenever they saw any of our respected avadhutas or Wts.

Sometimes, with their inimical outlook, these anti-social elements would try to intentionally taunt and harass margiis. Such unrighteous people were thinking they could take advantage of the situation and abuse our Ananda Marga way of life since the newspapers, government, and CBI were already issuing poisonous propaganda against Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha.

Side by side, many good people in society were very sympathetic to our cause. They were notably impressed with Ananda Marga social service projects, as well as with the honest and strict moral conduct of Ananda Margiis. So they felt a sense of kinship towards Ananda Marga. In their own quiet manner, they were very supportive. However, on the public front, they were forced to be reserved because of the ghastly attitude those in power had towards Ananda Marga. That was the climate those days. Now here is the main story.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Corrupt officer mocked about Guru

The LFT teacher Bhagavan jii arrived with an application for the food supply officer in order to pick-up the food quota (allotted amount) for the Ananda Marga children's home. When the corrupt officer saw the application from the children's home in-charge (Bhagavan jii), then in a mocking manner the officer used abusive language towards Sadguru Baba and Ananda Marga.

Actually, this official had a history of corrupt dealings, and Ananda Margiis had lodged complaints against him in the past. So this corrupt official harboured a lot of anger, resentment, and ill-will towards Ananda Margiis.

Note: Before continuing on with the story here I should say something so this story will be very clear. In Hindi the pronunciation of the terms 'Murgii', 'Murti', and 'Margii' is very similar. And the meaning of 'Murgii' is a hen (a female chicken).
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Now the story continues...

In a taunting tone, the communist-minded officer said, "Oh, you are an Ananda Murgii, how is it you are outside of jail? How is it you did not get arrested? Where is your Guru Ananda Murgii."

Hearing this, the margii Bhagavan jii's whole existence was burning. He became furious and one great, strong burst of energy came into his body. Both parties were sitting face to face and in between them was one table. Bhagavan jii scanned around and saw a 1/2 lb, solid glass, paperweight. Without saying a word, within a fraction of a second, Bhagavan jii grabbed that glass paper weight and pounded it directly on the corrupt officer's face. The officer’s nose started bleeding.

Note: In abnormal circumstances, when the governmental authorities and the law and order personnel are against righteous people, and anti-social elements are trying to attack and mock you, then there is no other recourse. In that case, one may resort to bold measures. In contrast, if the courts and the police are ethical and keen to uphold the just laws of the land, then there is a different course of action to give a lesson to such people. In those dark days, Bhagavan jii did the needful. Given the unusual circumstances, that was the only right way to stand his ground.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Arrested & released from jail

Hearing the cry of the officer, other officials rushed to the scene. They were terrified by what they saw. They were horrified and stricken with fear. They froze and could not retaliate against Bhagavan jii. In a roaring voice, the margii Bhagavan jii threatened them: "If anybody utters one word against my Guru Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji, they will invite their death."

Completely fear-stricken, nobody could utter a word. Those corrupt officers stood there frozen in horror and shock. Later on, a police complaint was made, and Bhagavan jii got arrested.

When margiis heard of the incident, they understood that nothing bad was going to happen; and, they praised Bhagavan jii for his dharmic stand. Although Bhagavan jii got arrested, he was very happy to have had the opportunity to serve Baba in this way. And he was feeling very determined and optimistic that everything will be alright.

Sure enough, after 2 days, Bhagavan jii was released from jail. And a court case was never filed against him. Actually, that corrupt officer was so terrified and worried he requested a transfer and never brought the matter to court. Nor did he ever give any testimony. As far as the legal system was concerned, the whole incident never even occurred.

Yet we know the sinner got his lesson; and, margii Bhagavan jii got victory, by Baba's grace. All the margiis who heard about this event got the lesson that where there is Ista there is victory. They understood that they should never tolerate any abuse to Ista and adarsha.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Ananda Margiis have pointed bhakti

News of this event spread like wildfire throughout the entire district. Good people in society remained supportive of Ananda Marga; they were impressed with the conduct and service-minded approach of margiis and wts. Those people had a sympathetic view and watched out for our well-being. There were many, many such supporters. It was only those anti-social elements who became alert upon hearing of this incident. They understood that on the point of Ista and adarsha, Ananda Margiis are very one-pointed and strict. Actually, this incident helped Ananda Margiis immensely. Otherwise, surviving as an Ananda Margii those days was very difficult. The corrupt leaders of society and communist government officials were fully against Ananda Marga. The tendency was for negative officers to harass Ananda Margiis. But Bhagavan jii's fierce approach put them on alert: If they taunt Ananda Margiis, their face will be smashed.

On paper, the point of Ista may look small; but, in reality, it is a big, big point. Strictness and faith in Ista is the foundation for every Ananda Margii: Only then one will have the courage to march forward towards the goal.

Conclusion

Dedication and surrender to Ista are the prerequisite factors for progressing in the spiritual realm. Those who lack this basic feeling for Ista cannot advance. Those who have embraced Ista with the inner core of their heart have verily taken the path of Ananda Marga as their way of life and Baba is their Goal. For such blessed sadhakas, success is sure.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Ananda Marga ideology says, "Ista means Parama Purusa...Where there is dharma there is Ista; the two are inseparably connected, and thus those who follow dharma are sure to follow Ista also. Dharma cannot exist where there is no love for God." (1)

Only strike against deliberate sinners, not innocent people

In society there are all kinds of people. Sometimes innocent, naive, or confused persons may make a disparaging joke or even ridicule you. Then that is a different matter - because you can convince them and they will feel repentant for their words. It is just like if a child makes a joke about Ananda Marga, then that child can be easily taught. As workers and margiis, we do not take those incidents seriously.

In stark contrast, in the above story, the margii was confronted by a deliberate sinner - a corrupt official with staunch hatred toward Ananda Marga. That officer was not a good man; he knowingly and intentionally abused Ista. There was zero scope to convince him of his wrongdoing / wickedness and bring him onto the right path. Again it should be understood: That officer was a deliberate sinner. That is why Bhagavan jii took such a strong stand.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Qualification of a great Ananda Margii

Her are some important conduct rules related with Ista:

Anand Marga Caryacarya states, "Non-compromising strictness and faith regarding the sanctity of Ista." (2)

Ananda Marga Caryacarya says, "You should always bear in mind that you should not try to convince by argument anyone who criticises your Is'ta (Goal), Adarsha (Ideology), Supreme Command or Conduct Rules. If this occurs you should adopt a hard and uncompromising attitude." (3)

These two teachings are the very backbone of our Ananda Marga spiritual cult. Without the faith and love for God (Ista), sadhana is meaningless. It is just like trying to plant and grow seeds in the dry, hot desert sand. Love for God is a basic quality of every sadhaka. It must be carefully preserved.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "This element of devotion, the most precious treasure of humanity, must be preserved most carefully. Because it is such a tender inner asset, to preserve it from the onslaughts of materialism..." (4)

Every Ananda Margii carries this in their heart. They believe these above quoted teachings from Baba and they put these teachings into practice.

Plagiary?

It is the accepted international standard and Baba's system not to copy another's work and publish it in your own way. Baba has given a very strict rule on plagiarism. Why is Baba against plagiarism or stealing someone's work? There are many reasons:

1) It is against the code of asteya (non-stealing).

2) Countless stories of bhaktas need to be published. But some do not want to do the hard work of compiling and writing these stories, so they just steal them from others. But new stories need to be told, otherwise so many unpublished stories of sadhakas will be lost and forgotten forever. So watch out for story thieves, and kindly help them not to steal by posting on social media in their own way. If you want to forward this story then attach the following yellow section with the story:

Your great & unfathomable love

Every bhakta knows, Ananda Marga ideology says, “Prabhat Samgiita is the feeling of the heart, and the expression of the heart, and it has been written with the ink of the heart.”

Prabhat Samgiita Intro: There are three kinds of bhaktas. C-Grade bhaktas ask for and complain about mundane things. B-grade bhaktas do not ask for mundane things but ask for various psycho-spiritual boons from Parama Purusa. They ask for mental peace, mukti, or moksa etc. And A-grade bhaktas do not ask anything at all from Parama Purusa - just they ask for Him. And when their mind becomes apexed then they become one with Parama Purusa, by His grace. And that is the final culmination - the goal of human life. Those who are B and C grade bhaktas may not understand the depth of this song as it is the expression of A-grade bhakti. This top-grade bhakta is expressing love and affection towards Parama Purusa.

"Ajáná pathik, thámo go kśańik, tomáy parábo málá..." (Prabhat Samgiita #1698)

Purport:

Ajana Pathik, please stay for a moment - don’t go away; I wish to garland You. With the fragrance of flowers, as well as with love and affection, I have decorated and brought a basket full of blossoms for You.

Baba, I have been singing songs of bhakti day and night to please You. I have been practicing and learning the rhythm and melody of Your music - Your tunes. Because of Your great and unfathomable love, my heart is filled with bliss, and my mind is overflowing in prema. Ajana Pathik, please pause for a minute. I wish to honour and feed You.

My Parama Purusa, I dance in innumerable rhythms to adore and receive You. With boundless joy, and with the river of nectar, I do not want anything from You. Only I wish to offer and surrender the love pouring from my heart. Ajana Pathik, please stay for a moment. I wish to garland You.

Aja'na' Pathik, Baba, please grace me and accept my offering...

Debility of diabetes

Ananda Marga ideology states, "The debility of the mańipura cakra is the main cause of diabetes. Amongst the pancreatic juices, one secretion helps in the digestion of food, and another separates the sugar content from non-vegetarian and starchy types of food. The sugar is then stored in a particular section of the liver and according to body requirements it is dissolved to generate heat and vital power to run the body mechanism. Chronic indigestion, constipation (here also the stool usually turns into pellets), mental exertion without any physical labour, use of intoxicants, and excessive seminal waste – all weaken the vitality of the liver. When such weakening takes place, the sugar contents of the food, failing to find a storage place in the liver, are assimilated into the blood and gradually accumulate. As a result, the blood gets polluted and loses its immune properties to a great extent. The natural reaction of the body in such a situation is to try to purify the blood by separating out its sugar content and expelling it with the urine. To dissolve the sugar, the human body needs plenty of water, and that is why diabetes patients suffer from a continuous thirst. Sugar emitted with the urine in a large quantity gradually reduces the vital energy of diabetes patients." (1)

Sentiment is blind force:
most Bengalees converted to Islam, now that is Bangladesh

Ananda Marga ideology states, “By temperament the Bengalees are a sentimental people. Sometimes they tolerate injustice for a long period without any murmur, without even a whimper...But suddenly, they may erupt in strong protest. These are the symptoms of a sentimental race. The people of Bengal, particularly the people of the lower stratum of society, had to undergo tremendous torture and humiliation in the past. Suddenly they revolted and embraced Islam in large numbers. They are also Bengalees – in bone, flesh and blood. They became Muslims as a reaction to the exploitation by the contemporary society.” (1)

Worst move: lower caste Hindus converted to Islam

Prout philosophy states, “It has also happened amongst the followers of different religions. Due to the many shortcomings in one religion and its exploitation of so-called lower caste people, many of these  so-called low caste people left that religion and accepted another. When people leave their religion for no significant reason and accept another religion which suffers from ideological vacuum or is even inferior to the religion which they previously followed, they develop hysterical behaviour. They start excessively doing those things which were once prohibited to them by their previous religion. So we find that the person who has converted to another religion takes more beef than a normal member of that religion. This type of behaviour cannot be found in those who had ideologically accepted that religion.” (2)

Tool to keep mind neat & clean

Baba teaches us that the regular practice of sadhana is the special tool to make the mind resplendent and shiny.

Ananda Marga ideology guides us, “One must do sádhaná most regularly. As long as one has a body, one must go on doing sádhaná. You must have noticed that a shiny new lot́á [small metal vessel] will no longer retain its lustre and newness after a year's use. One has to clean it quite regularly with tamarind in order to maintain its shininess. The mind is like that – one has to do regular sádhaná to keep it neat and clean.” (1)

यह गीत, स्रष्टि के सृजन से पूर्व, जब परमपुरुष के अलावा कोई नहीं था

Intro for PS: The following song describes the situation before creation when Parama Purusa was all alone. In the absence of a second entity, He had nothing to do. He was feeling lonely; there was no one. Then He started thinking that He should be many and then at one point of His vast infinite Self, saincara started. That was the origin and start of creation. One should not forget that creation is His thought projection - it is all unfolding within His mind. For Him, nothing is external; the entire universe is in His mind.

Supreme task for the present humanity

“The fact that the fortune of every individual, not only of this earth but of the entire cosmos, has been wreathed together, will have to be admitted one day by people. The spiritual aspirant has to hasten that auspicious moment by pauseless effort, service and propagation of the great Ideology. This alone is the Supreme task for the present humanity.” (Ananda Vanii #30)
