Elder abuse in the United States

Namaskar,
This is a topic for us all to reflect upon. Although this  compilation of data is from one specific country, this problem of elder abuse is pervasive around the world. Where capitalism is on the rise, those communities become more selfish and greedy and elder abuse cases become more common.

Sadguru Baba says, "One who does not come forward to help when seeing a person in distress is unworthy to be called a human being – he or she is a slur on Ananda Marga." (1)

Elder Abuse: The Size of the Problem

(Courtesy of National Center on Elder Abuse)

Below is a sampling of findings that show what is known about the incidence and prevalence of elder abuse and neglect:

  • The most recent major studies on incidence reported that 7.6%–10% of study participants experienced abuse in the prior year. The study that found an incidence of 1 in 10 adults experiencing abuse did not include financial abuse.
  • Available data from state Adult Protective Services (APS) agencies show an increasing trend in the reporting of elder abuse.
  • Despite the accessibility of APS in all 50 states (whose programs are quite different), as well as mandatory reporting laws for elder abuse in most states, an overwhelming number of cases of abuse, neglect, and exploitation go undetected and untreated each year.
  • One study estimated that only 1 in 14 cases of elder abuse ever comes to the attention of authorities. The New York State Elder Abuse Prevalence Study found that for every case known to programs and agencies, 24 were unknown.
  • Major financial exploitation was self-reported at a rate of 41 per 1,000 surveyed, which was higher than self-reported rates of emotional, physical, and sexual abuse or neglect.

Those Who Abuse

In the only national study that attempted to define the scope of elder abuse, the vast majority of abusers were family members (approximately 90%), most often adult children, spouses, partners, and others.

Family members who abuse drugs or alcohol, who have a mental/emotional illness, and who feel burdened by their caregiving responsibilities abuse at higher rates than those who do not.

Abuse of Those with Disabilities

Approximately 14 million U.S. adults aged 65 and over and 19 million U.S adults aged 18 to 64 have a disability.13 Unfortunately, some of these vulnerable adults are abused by family members, service providers, care assistants and others. This abuse places the victim’s health, safety, emotional wellbeing, and ability to engage in daily life activities at risk.

Below is a sampling of research findings relating to abuse of adults with disabilities:
  • Institutionalized adult women with disabilities reported a 33% prevalence of having ever experienced interpersonal violence (IPV) versus 21% for institutionalized adult women without disabilities.
  • When considering lifetime abuse by any perpetrator, a sample of 200 adult women with disabilities indicated that 67% had experienced physical abuse and 53% had experienced sexual abuse.
  • In a study of 342 adult men, 55% of men experienced physical abuse by any person after becoming disabled. Nearly 12% of these men stated they experienced physical abuse by a personal assistance service provider over their lifetime.
  • In a comprehensive review of literature published from 2000–2010, lifetime prevalence of any type of IPV against adult women with disabilities was found to be 26–90%. Lifetime prevalence of IPV against adult men with disabilities was found to be 28.7–86.7%. It was concluded that, over the course of their lives, IPV occurs at disproportionate and elevated rates among men and women with disabilities.

Dementia and Elder Abuse

Research indicates that people with dementia are at greater risk of elder abuse than those without. Approximately 5.1 million American elders over 65 have some kind of dementia. Close to half of all people over 85, the fastest growing segment of our population, have Alzheimer’s disease or another kind of dementia. By 2025, most states are expected to see an increase in Alzheimer prevalence.20 One 2009 study revealed that close to 50% of people with dementia experience some kind of abuse. A 2010 study found that 47% of participants with dementia had been mistreated by their caregivers.

Abuse in Nursing Homes and other Long Term Care Facilities

Elder abuse occurs in community settings, such as private homes, as well as institutional settings like nursing homes and other types of long term care facilities. 3.2 million Americans resided in nursing homes during 2008.

Below is a sampling of research findings relating to abuse in long term care facilities:
  • Of all complaints regarding institutional facilities reported to long term care Ombudsmen were complaints of abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
  • In 2000, one study interviewing 2,000 nursing home residents reported that 44% said they had been abused and 95% said they had been neglected or seen another resident neglected.
  • A May, 2008 study conducted by the U.S. General Accountability Office revealed that state surveys understate problems in licensed facilities: 70% of state surveys miss at least one deficiency and 15% of surveys miss actual harm and immediate jeopardy of a nursing home resident.

More About Elder Abuse

Elder mistreatment (i.e. abuse and neglect) is defined as intentional actions that cause harm or create a serious risk of harm (whether or not harm is intended) to a vulnerable elder by a caregiver or other person who stands in a trust relationship to the elder. This includes failure by a caregiver to satisfy the elder’s basic needs or to protect the elder from harm.

Unfortunately, we simply do not know for certain how many people are suffering from elder abuse and neglect. It appears that female elders are abused at a higher rate than males and that the older one is, the more likely one is to be abused.

Signs of elder abuse may be missed by professionals working with older Americans because of lack of training on detecting abuse. The elderly may be reluctant to report abuse themselves because of fear of retaliation, lack of physical and/or cognitive ability to report, or because they don’t want to get the abuser (90% of whom are family members) in trouble.

~ I only view the world in my own selfish way without any Cosmic ideation ~

“Kakhano a’mi prabhu d’a’kini toma’y, tumi bha’lobesecho more...” (PS 3368)

Purport:

Baba, O' Prabhu, You are so gracious on me. I never call You and in my heart I do not have such a strong feeling of longing or devotion, but You are always loving me. O’ my Lord, even by mistake, I do not spend any time doing Your work. Neither do I do any work nor do I allocate any time to follow Your commands and orders to satisfy You. Even then You go on looking after all my needs and caring for me. You are so gracious.

O' Parama Purusa, all in all, my situation is like the dust lying on the floor of the earth. I involve in all kinds of worldly, material pursuits – all the while plunged in mean and lowly thoughts. I never think about You. I do not understand how even a blade of grass does not move without Your approval – if You do not desire. This eternal truth I do not understand. My situation is like one particle of dust that is lying on the ground. I only view the world in my own selfish way without any cosmic ideation. Just I go on degrading myself by this approach. O’ Lord, You are always gracious. I never call You with deep longing, yet You always love me.

O’ Parama Purusa, O’ Baba, the dawn of the day comes by Your grace. The smile of the moon in the night is the expression of Your compassion. Baba, this whole created universe is filled with Your divine vibration and that takes expression in the form of everyone’s love and affection.

Baba, You are so gracious on me. Without my calling You, without my remembering You, without my following Your commands & directions, You always care for me and love me. Baba, Your grace is causeless...

He Was Not Part Of The "Inner Circle"

He Was Not Part Of The "Inner Circle"

Namaskar,
All are aware about our recent tragic loss - the mahaprayan of respected Ac Siddhayogananda Avt. Here following are more details surrounding Dadaji's mahaparayan.

1. Dadaji performed his kapalik meditation at a local cemetery the night of the 18th of January - approximately 24 - 30 hours before his mahaprayan.

2. Of late, in the weeks prior, Dadaji was healthy and strong - ie. in good, physical condition. There was no question or concern in anyone's mind that Dadaji would soon pass, i.e. mahaprayan.

3. Those around him know that Dada Siddhayogananda was under a lot of stress and mental tension because of the state of affairs in the organisation.

4. Although, Dadaji held a global post he was never fully embraced by top Dadas and was not part of the "inner circle."

5. More than 50 margiis and Wts attended his cremation - Dadaji's face was beaming and serene, and his shraddha ceremony will begin momentarily - i.e. around 11am IST on 23 January 2015 at the Prout Bhavan, Malviyanagar (Delhi.)

at His feet,
Jayanta

LOW-GRADE PEOPLE DO FOR SHOW ONLY

Note: If you (a) blindly support and have great fascination towards a particular person or persons, (b) deem them to be beyond question, and / or (c) do not like to hear genuine and healthy criticism, then do not read any further. This letter is written with the purpose and intention that the standard of our AMPS and Wt cadre can be better. By this way, the whole Ananda Marga society will be benefited.

Namaskar,
All are aware that Sadguru Baba has given instructions for all aspects of individual and collective life, including what to do when performing a tree planting ceremony.

GURU'S GUIDELINES FOR TREE-PLANTING CEREMONY

"Plant the tree while mentally reciting guru mantra. Then while pouring some water on the tree, everyone will recite the following with the ácárya/á or a senior person leading:"

Oṋḿ madhu vátá rtáyate madhu kśarantu sindhavah;
Mádhviirnah santvośadhiih.
Madhu naktamutośaso madhumat párthivaḿ rajah;
Madhu dyaorastu nah pitá.
Madhumán no vanaspatirmadhumán astu súryah;
Mádhviirgávo bhavantu nah.
Oṋḿ madhu oṋḿ madhu oṋḿ madhu.

“May the tree planted today prove felicitous for us with its fruits, flowers, fragrance, floral nectar, leaves and shade. May we ourselves prove helpful to the tree through our regular service in providing manure, water and sunshine to it. Oṋḿ shántih, oṋḿ shantih, oṋḿ shantih.” (1)

DURING TREE-PLANTING CEREMONY

To summarize, here are the steps given by Guru for the tree-planting ceremony:

1. Mentally take Guru mantra when planting the tree;

2. A senior person should lead the recitation of the "Omn Madhu..." shloka while pouring water on the tree.

These are the two key steps when performing the tree-planting ceremony.

LOOK WHAT PP DADA HAS DONE

Here we have a clear photo of how PP Dada Vishvadevanandji behaved during this recent tree-planting ceremony. He merely wants to show others that he is deeply engaged in the tree-planting ceremony and that he is environmentally conscious.

But unfortunately, instead of adhering to Sadguru Baba's guidelines and sincerely involving himself in the tree-planting ceremony, PP Dada was merely there for the sake of a photo op. Because his main goal was the photo, not service to Guru and the environment. So his whole approach is complete hypocrisy. This is all his superficial and duplicitous show. Because, in fact, his main aim is the photo shoot and the publicity. That’s why he is looking towards the cameraman.

So this entire manicured drama is for show only. See below how PP Dada is consumed with smiling at the camera while pouring water on the tree. This directly contradicts Guru's teaching. As a senior avadhuta, PP Dada should instead be leading the recitation of the Omn madhu shloka.

Look at the below photo and decide for yourself if PP Dada is smiling at the camera or reciting the shloka.

Indeed, PP Dada is so enthralled with the camera that he is not even looking where he is pouring the water.

The photo should depict Guru’s teachings - not something else. By seeing this photo no one will learn that in our Ananda Marga we have a special tree-planting ceremony for the welfare of the tree etc.

PP DADA SHOULD BE EMBODIMENT OF GURU'S TEACHINGS

Indeed it is an unfortunate presentation. As Purodha Pramukha, PP Dada must be the embodiment of all Guru's teachings, including those guidelines related with the tree-planting ceremony. It was PP Dada’s duty to sincerely engage is this tree-planting ceremony. But PP Dada didn’t approach this duty in a straightforward and dharmic manner. Instead, his presentation was for show only: To make it look like he follows Guru’s every program and to make it look like deeply cares for the natural world. When his inner intention from the very beginning was to be displayed in the photo shoot.

HYPOCRISY OF POLITICAL LEADER DURING

EARTHQUAKE RESCUE OPERATION

In the following quote, Baba is giving the example of a few hypocritical political leaders. In particular, Baba is recounting the tragedy of the Jamalpur earthquake of 15 January 1934. So many people were buried under the debris and rubble of collapsed houses. Some were dead and some were alive, crying out for help. Sincere local volunteers and neighbors were trying hard to remove the debris and rescue the victims / survivors.

In the meantime, a few political leaders came with a cameraman. Those politicians borrowed spades and shovels from volunteers and posed for photos as if they were trying to dig out survivors etc. Immediately after the photo was taken they walked away.

That is the eyewitness account Baba is giving in this below Hindi quote.

Only hypocrites do like this; Ananda Margiis should never conduct themselves in this way. In the life of an Ananda Margii, sincerity is the beginning, sincerity is the middle, and sincerity is the end. The main quality of a sadhaka is sincerity - no hypocrisy. But unfortunately PP Dada’s behaviour is hypocritical and insincere.

PP Dada's tree-planting ceremony was done for show only and has no dharmic value. Just it was an empty, superficial display.

HOW HYPOCRITES DO

Doing something and trying to show something else to others is hypocrisy. For example if someone is sitting in padmasana in full view with their spine straight and their eyes closed in order to impress upon others that, “I am a great yogi because I can sit for four hours without moving”, that is hypocrisy.

Not only that, when that person is not really doing sadhana and just sitting there for show that is doubly dangerous. Firstly it is a waste of time, and secondly all remnants of simplicity are lost - gone; their mind became completely degenerated. Just they are sitting there for their own prestige. Such is the degree to which their own mind became crooked. Thus for them is a double loss.

Verily, there are many examples of hypocrisy that can be given; but here the concerning point is with PP Dada. See how his behaviour is hypocritical. He is very concerned about having his photo taken, but he is not even remotely interested in that tree-planting ceremony. Just he wants to show others that he is very sincere and involved to do the tree planting ceremony according to Sadguru Baba’s guideline. Such is the extreme degree of his hypocrisy.

If he had been sincere then what would he have done? He would have properly engaged in the ceremony according to Caryacarya - not caring about any photo etc. But unfortunately, in PP Dada’s case if the camera is not present he will never participate. All in all this is a very poor show. In that case, what can anyone learn from him when his standard is so low and he rampantly contradicts the word and spirit of Guru’s teachings.

All along the handlers of PP Dada are always trying hard to jack up PP Dada’s image by doing various tricks like putting his seat a little higher than Baba’s seat etc. Plus so many other things are done that are the subject of other discussions. The concluding idea is that here in the tree-planting ceremony, PP Dada’s performance is insincere and hypocritical.

ONE MUST NOT GIVE WAY TO THIS SORT OF HYPOCRISY

Here are a few Baba's teachings & warnings about hypocrisy. The sense is that on the one hand they are trying to highlight a tree-planting ceremony, but instead of bringing Guru's teachings to the forefront, PP Dada was drowned in the notion of highlighting himself by smiling at the camera. Thus, this entire ceremony sadly became one hypocritical display.

Baba says, "Hypocrisy in the human mind is also increased as a result of the influence of negative microvita." (5)

Ananda Marga ideology warns us, "Such people attempt to cover their harmful or defective sentiments under a veil of hypocrisy. This concealing mentality is one aspect of hypocrisy." (6)

in Him,
Mahaviira

Do's and Don'ts:

Must Not Discourage Fine Arts

"Agriculture, arts, commerce and other developmental work should, as far as possible, be carried out on a cooperative basis."

"Fine arts lead human beings to the trans-sensory realm; hence sádhakas should not discourage fine arts; rather they should support them, directly or indirectly."

"Artists are great benefactors of society, hence take active steps for their protection. For example, before enacting a drama or its translation, enough money for a day's maintenance must be given to the author."

"If a drama or other art performance is staged and a charge is made for tickets, after deducting the incidental expenditure, the remaining money should be distributed among the artists, half on the basis of labour and half on the basis of merit." (1)

~ Please Light My Lamp - Arouse My Devotion ~

"Eso ka'jal ra'ter a'ndha're, hiya' a'lokit kore..." (PS 1926)

Purport:

O' Lord, O' Effulgent Divine Entity, please grace me by coming in my heart, which is as dark as the black night, and make it effulgent. Please light my lamp, arouse my devotion, with Your divine love. O' Parama Purusa, awaken the humanity which is in deep slumber. Please grace one and all.

O' Parama Purusa, except You, no one can wipe away this cimmerian darkness [1]. Without You, humanity will not awaken. For the welfare and enlightenment of this entire universe, please come in everyone's dhya'na. Please come in the crudest sphere of everyone's mind and make it divinely effulgent.

Baba, O' Parama Purusa, I long for You in my mind which is as dark and dreary as a dungeon. I have been desperately and ceaselessly searching You since the dawn of my life. Your charming & loving smile is like an ocean of nectar from the divine world. This divine smile will wipe away all the staticity.

Baba, please shower Your causeless grace and remove the cimmerian darkness and fill my heart and mind with Your divine effulgence...

NOTE FOR PRABHAT SAMGIITA #1926:

[1] Darkness: In this song, the darkness represents dogma, ignorance, and a crude state of mind.

Baba Story by Dr. Ravi Batra

Baba

This email contains two sections:
1. Baba Story by Dr. Ravi Batra
2. Links

BABA STORY BY DR. RAVI BATRA

I first met Baba on August 16, 1964 in a town called Lucknow, U.P. I entered his room around 6 pm with a mind full of skepticism, but came out enchanted and blissful. Baba advised me to build myself through hard and long meditation in order to serve the people. And hard meditation I did. However, it created a lot of unexpected problems; so two months later I went to see him in Jaipur, where I was fortunate to meet him again.

I was then a student at the Delhi School of Economics, and India was one of the poorest nations at that time. As soon as I entered his room, I forgot my problems and was lost in a blissful state again. As I opened my eyes, Baba started talking to me, and I forced myself to listen to him. Baba asked me, “Rabi, as he used to address me some times, what have you been doing over the past two months?”

I said, “Baba, I have been meditating about three to four  hours every day, but have faced enormous troubles. I got bad headaches and stomach pain; almost everyone is angry with me. My parents are in shock; even my friends think I have become insane. I don’t understand any of this, especially when I am trying to be helpful to everybody.”

Baba smiled as if my experience was not unusual. He said, “The path of sadhna is studded with thorns, but I will give you one advice. You should surrender your body, mind and soul to Him, and He will make you do whatever is good for you and society. Now tell me what you would like to do for the people.”

I said, “Baba, I would like to eradicate poverty in India.”

Baba’s mood changed all of a sudden; he looked disappointed—even angry. I could not understand what I had done wrong. He said sternly, “Rabi, you are very shallow. Your goal in life should be to eradicate poverty around the world. This is my assignment to you. India is not the only poor nation; at some other places, poverty is even worse.”

I was astonished, to say the least. I was a mere student at the time; I had no credentials as an economist. I said, “Sir, How can I possibly fulfill this assignment, when I have not even finished my Master’s degree?”

Baba replied: “The one who gives you work also provides the means to finish that work. I will remain with you all your life, even when you go abroad.” At this point, I interjected: “Did you say ‘abroad,’ Baba? I don’t want to go out of India, when you are here. I can’t imagine ever leaving you.”

Then Baba said, “No Rabi, you have to go to a foreign land, and indeed you will to fulfill the assignment I have given you.”

Two years later, I left for America to do a Ph. D. in economics, even though I had no interest in doing it. Delhi had become very hostile to me and I just wanted to leave the city and go somewhere else. I received a scholarship from Southern Illinois University, and off I went.

Years passed. I wrote many books on Baba’s theories and philosophy, but they were thoroughly criticized. In spite of my best efforts, I could never convince the experts to minimize wealth concentration so as to eliminate poverty. In fact, I became obsessed with discovering a poverty eradication plan, and worked on a solution almost 10 hours a day, 7 days a week. Finally, my health gave in, and I was diagnosed with leukemia in 2013. My doctor, in fact a team of 3 doctors, indicated that my cancer was of the worst type, with no cure in sight. I was told I  had about 6 months to live, although I could prolong my life to 2 years with regular blood transfusions.

I was shaken somewhat, but worried more about my family. I asked the doctors if they could find my blood type from a vegetarian, and they all laughed heartily. One morning in July 2013, I woke up with my heart pulsating  hard; I was sure my time had come; so I started to meditate on Baba’s Varabhaya mudra form. I chanted my guru mantra, and said to Baba, “It looks like I am soon coming to you. What a joy it would be to live with you; I am only sad I could not fulfill my assignment. Perhaps I should take the blood transfusion, prolong my life, write a new book and make a last-ditch effort to find a way to eliminate global poverty. What do you say, Baba? “

Immediately, I heard a voice: “Tatha-Astu. (So be it). Go, have a transfusion right away. And don’t worry about a medicine; I have already arranged that for you; you will find it in Washington, DC.”

To cut the story short: I had a blood transfusion that day, which gave me enough energy to go to DC, where the NIH (National Institute of Health) admitted me for a clinical trial on a new medicine. They were especially interested in my case, because I had the worst type of leukemia and was over 65 as well. Fifteen days later, my cancer symptoms were gone. No longer did I have dizzy spells, chronic fatigue, or shortness of breath. I could walk up the stairs effortlessly. Dr. Farooqhi of the NIH said to me, “We have 75 patients for this clinical trial, and except for a 35 year old boy you have had the fastest recovery. Looks like this drug is tailor made for you. What is your secret?”

My answer astonished him.  I said, “I am a yogi and my secret is my Guru. I am also doing some other things he has taught me. They include asanas (yoga exercises), healing dance (kaushiki), sun bathing, a special type of healing pranayama, and a home-made oil that keeps my pain under control. Above all, I do a lot of meditation and chant a healing mantra that keeps my anxiety in check.”

This was all mumbo-jumbo to him. He said that whatever I did produced nothing short of a miracle; he sent me home but asked me to return once a month for regular check-ups.

Upon the advice of my doctors, much to my dismay, I had stopped playing tennis; however, in September I was back on the tennis court, where my friends gave me a hearty welcome. They had missed their regular partner.

Even though the cancer symptoms were all gone, I visited NIH once a month, underwent blood tests and other medical exams, obtained medicine and then returned to Dallas. My health showed a steady improvement. The biggest change was in my hemoglobin, which was once down to five, and was low enough to cause a stroke or a heart attack, none of which ever happened. Now my hemoglobin is above 14, greater than that of my doctor.

In April 2014, as I sat in a hotel room in DC, I recapitulated the events of the past year; how I had escaped certain death with Baba’s grace and help. I closed my eyes and meditated on Baba’s form. After about an hour, various chapters of another book came into my vision. Several practical solutions for poverty eradication flashed across my mind. Suddenly, the assignment Baba had given me long ago seemed within reach. The by-product of that thought in a DC hotel is my new book, End Unemployment Now: How to Eliminate Joblessness, Debt and Poverty Despite Congress.

Unique Forecasting Power Of + We Do Not Differentiate Between High And Low

Unique Forecasting Power Of

Prehistoric People, Animals And Birds

"You cannot perceive the essences of ultra-subtle and ultra-crude entities: it is beyond your mental capacity to receive their vibrational waves and that is why, you cannot normally detect their existence. There are many birds and reptiles that can receive the premonitive vibrations of an event before its actual materialization. A frog detects the pre-indication of rains long before many other living beings do: it catches the premonitory vibrations beforehand and keeps croaking the announcement of the forthcoming happiness to the four winds. Normally humans, however, cannot know anything before the rain actually starts, for the requisite subtle mechanism to receive the pre-rain vibrations is not well developed in them. So for forecast they have to take recourse to meteorology and use a special type of scientific instrument."
"A crow has a natural premonitive instinct regarding storms. An owl and to some extent a dog can sense beforehand the possible occurrence of an earthquake or some other unforeseen natural calamity of great magnitude. Such power of apprehending phenomenal vibrations exists not in ten or twenty but in innumerable species of birds. Such a power is indeed of paramount necessity in their rigorous struggle for survival. Such a power did exist, too, to some extent, among the prehistoric people. But today, in this age of so-called civilization, human beings, having become extremely ease-loving, have lost that power through misuse and lack of necessity; just as their tails, their ability to move their ears and their capacity to hold things with their feet have disappeared. Now the hairiness of their bodies and the strength of their teeth and nails are also becoming extinct. The greater the preoccupation of creatures with the struggle for existence, the necessarily greater must be their power of premonition or prescience of impending danger, or else their existence will be effaced from the surface of the earth – this is the law of nature." (Subhasita Samgraha - 3, Vibration, Form and Colour)

Animals Can Sense Severe Storm Systems

New study of migrating birds adds to signs that animals may make better meteorologists than humans do.

The latest evidence: A flock of birds flew away from its nesting site days before there were any signs of danger and well before forecasters predicted the arrival of a massive storm system that spawned 84 confirmed tornadoes and killed at least 35 people, researchers reported Thursday in Current Biology.

"Meteorologists were predicting that the storm might come our way," says the study's lead author, Henry Streby, a National Science Foundation postdoctoral research fellow and visiting scholar at the University of California, Berkeley. "But by the time they were saying they were sure it was coming, the birds had already figured it out and were gone."

The golden-winged warblers normally spend winters in South America and fly up to Tennessee to nest, Streby says. They had been at their nesting site for just a couple of days before they turned around and headed south again.

The discovery was completely fortuitous. Researchers had been testing to see if a new kind of geolocator could be carried by the tiny birds. The geolocators fit like little backpacks on the birds' backs with harnesses attached around their legs.

The geolocators were a success and stayed on the warblers for a year, recording everywhere the birds went. When the researchers recaptured the birds and analyzed the location data they were stunned to discover that the warblers had taken off from their breeding grounds in the Cumberland Mountains of eastern Tennessee, where they had only just arrived, for an unplanned migration south taking them out of the path of the oncoming storm. All told, the warblers travelled 1,500 kilometers (932 miles) in five days to steer clear of the tornado-producing system.

Streby suspects that the birds were alerted by low-frequency sound waves sparked by the tornadic storm. Those waves would be right in the range birds can pick up, but undetectable by human ears.

"They might be able to hear the storms coming and make a decision to leave and come back rather than hunker down and try to survive the tornadoes," he says.

Henry Streby with a male golden-winged warbler and the geolocator that the bird carried for more than 12 months, including during the evacuation migration.

Some other sense involved?

Tornado expert John Allen isn't convinced that the birds are hearing the sounds of developing whirlwinds, but he says, "clearly they are sensing something we can't, and that's really interesting. Those warblers are predicting weather better than we are."

There's no doubt that the warblers took the warning seriously, whatever form it came in, says Allen, a postdoctoral researcher at Columbia University's International Research Institute for Climate and Society.

"The distances they traveled are amazing," he says. "They migrated to their nesting area and then two days later they have to fly out to another location. They went to the Gulf Coast and still got rain there. But it's not the rain that worries them, but the temperature differences. Little birds like the warblers have got to keep themselves warm."

"This is the first really sound data showing that, yes, animals can sense severe storm systems."

The new findings are "incredibly exciting," says Dr. Erica Miller, an adjunct associate professor at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. "This is the first really sound data showing that, yes, animals can sense severe storm systems and will evade them. Certainly we have a sense of that from lots of anecdotal stories, like birdfeeders swarmed by birds the day before a big snowstorm comes."

Other evidence for Miller comes from back when she worked at a bird rescue.

"After a hurricane would come through we would brace ourselves in anticipation expecting to see birds thrown around by the storm," Miller says. "But we never saw that. We always wondered, where do the birds go? Somehow they are avoiding damage from the storm."

And it's not just birds that seem to have a sixth sense when it comes to dangerous weather.

"I am most familiar with birds, but I know from talking to my colleagues that even zoo animals will act differently when there is a storm coming," Miller says. "They may spend more time in their dens or more time pacing. They just know something is up."

Just ask your horse

Horses, both wild and domesticated, seem to have the ability to avoid giving birth in stormy weather.

"We've actually investigated that, but haven't yet published the findings," says horse specialist Sue McDonnell, an adjunct professor of reproductive behavior at the University of Pennsylvania's New Bolton Center and founding head of Penn Vet's Equine Behavior Program. "We have a semi-feral herd that is out 24/7. And it turns out that they delay parturition, and then the first nice day after a bad stretch of weather in the spring we have a flurry of births."

Even domesticated horses being kept indoors will delay labor until stormy weather has passed, McDonnell says.

Though no one can say for sure how animals know a storm is brewing, "it's clear they are better forecasters than we humans are," Allen says.

We Do Not Differentiate Between High And Low,

Rich And Poor, Sinner And Virtuous, Literate And Illiterate

"Toma'kei bha'loba'si a'mara'..." (PS 3821)

Purport:

O' Parama Purusa, You are our everything, our Heart of hearts. We love only You. By Your grace, we are moving ceaselessly along Your divine path; we are treading on that very path which You have     graciously shown to us. O' Supreme One, day and night we sing Your boundless glories and dance according to Your sweet rhythms. We always propagate Your grand ideals. O' Lord, You have created us: We are Your thought projection; we are Your progeny. You are our Father - Our Ista. We love only You.

O' Divine Entity, by Your grace we love one and all equally; everyone's existence is treasured. We do not differentiate between high and low, small and big, rich and poor, touchable and untouchable, sinner and virtuous, literate and illiterate etc. All are kith and kin - all are family members. All are part of that singular humanity. We are all bound together with Your divine love. O' Lord, with Your infinite compassion You always call us to come close with Your beacon call, which pulls our heart close to You. By Your grace, we hear Your call and move towards You. You are the Goal. Our each and every action and deed is aimed toward Your divine stance - toward reaching up to You. You are our Aim and the Polestar of our life.

O' Parama Purusa Baba, You have blessed us with the ideals of neo-humanism. First, You have graciously granted us individual freedom; second, You have infused us with universal spirit; and third, You have spiritualised our minds with the dhyana of the Supreme One [1]. With these three attributions one other quality unfolds: We wage a relentless fight against all the evils and sin. And by Your grace victory is sure. Baba, by these four noble qualities of neo-humanism - individual freedom, universal spirit, dhyana of the Supreme entity, and the fight against evil forces - we have created a potent, bitter medicine that cures all sorts of ailments like dogma, infighting, and narrow-mindedness. O' Divine Entity, O' Baba, with this approach we have made this dusty earth into a golden paradise, by Your divine blessing.

Baba, we all love only You; You are our Goal. O' our most Adored One...

NOTES ABOUT PRABHAT SAMGIITA #3821:

[1] "Vya's't'...amara'r": In the third and final stanza of the above song, Baba describes 4 special principles that are part and parcel of our neo-humanistic philosophy: (a) individual freedom, (b) universal spirit, (c) dhyana of the Supreme entity, (d) the fight against injustices and sin. All are four are needed to create a golden paradise on this earth and build a society in the real sense of the term.

Spirituality is an essential aspect of neo-humanism. Without proper dhyana, individual freedom can be twisted to exploit the masses. Such is the case in capitalism since it is devoid of a spiritual approach. People just equate individual freedom with selfish pleasure and degrading activities. Communism does not allow for individual freedom nor does it recognise spirituality: Both are missing. For this reason, collective interest and a loving society could not be attained in communism. So it is more murderous than capitalism. Comparatively speaking, communists are worse than capitalists.

Then in the dogma-centered philosophy such as in the various religions, individual freedom and perfect spirituality are missing. The religions are ritualistic and dogma-based. There is no true feeling of universal love. That is why even followers of same religion can kill each other - what to speak of harming members of other religions. History has witnessed this again and again. So the religious society is also defective.

Baba guides us that in an ideal society all 4 principles are needed:  (a) individual freedom, (b) universal spirit, (c) dhyana of the Supreme entity, and (d) the fight against injustices and sin. Failing that, this world cannot become a golden paradise. In the absence of any of these aforementioned principles, groupism and factionalism will erupt.

So our neo-humanistic approach is wholly revolutionary. In this God-centered approach, individual freedom is used for virtuous deeds which bring collective welfare, and all the while there is a pactless fight against all injustices. This is the speciality of our neo-humanism and this is the grand ideal Baba is propagating in His above song.

Present day group leaders and their bootlickers are not following anything like (a) individual freedom, (b) universal spirit, (c) dhyana of the Supreme entity, and (d) the fight against injustices.

Those Who Sell Marga Properties Are Sinners - Why?

Baba

This email contains two sections:
1. Posting: Those Who Sell Marga Properties Are Sinners - Why?
2. Links

THOSE WHO SELL MARGA PROPERTIES ARE SINNERS - WHY?

Note: This letter is not for those who have ill-feeling towards Ananda Marga. This is about a very key issue as again some are trying to sell NY sectorial office - the ramifications of which are grave and severe.

Namaskar,
When margiis & sympathizers donate land to our Ananda Marga, their intent is not for someone to sell that land and then misuse the money - like some of our Wts are doing. Rather people donate land with a high ideal in mind - to serve humanity. That is what motivates them to give that which they so greatly treasure.

They donate the land because it is for Ba'ba's mission. They donate their land with the great hope that this will be useful for Ananda Marga social service work and that their offering of land will please Baba. Where there is no land donor, margiis save money for months & year to buy a piece of land with that same motive and hope.

NOW TRYING TO SELL NEW YORK SECTORIAL OFFICE

At present, those in-charges are allegedly trying to sell New York sectorial office (Corona, Queens, NYC), If you go there then you are bound to see this "For Sale" sign:

And reportedly, if you call the phone number on the "For Sale" sign, then a realtor answers and confirms it is for sale. Apparently the listing price is around 1.5 million dollars. And this is all being done with the go-ahead from the very tip-top of Ranchi administration, i.e. Ac Rudranandji Avt, since he is the one controlling and pulling the strings behind Ranchi PP and GS.

Remember, although NY sectorial office may seem far away to you, but the next land / jagrti / property sale may be in your backyard. So we must stop this negative trend here - just nip it in the bud before it spreads around further. Now is the time to act and raise the voice that all Ananda Marga properties must be safeguarded. If this one gets sold, then start looking over your shoulder to see what they put up for sale in your area. Because those Dadas are in big debt from court cases and they are liable to sell any property.

Namaskar,
in Him,
Gunadiisha

The guilty are innocent: L N Mishra's son's startling revelation

December 09, 2014 13:15 IST

L N Mishra was the first Cabinet minister to be assassinated in Independent India.
After Monday's judgment, almost 40 years after the murder, the minister's son tells Rediff.com why the government must reveal who really killed his father.

Nearly 40 years after former railways minister Lalit Narayan Mishra, left, was killed in a bomb blast at Samastipur in Bihar, a Delhi court on Monday, December 8, convicted four men of murder and criminal conspiracy.
Following the verdict, Vijay Mishra, the late minister's son, tells M I Khan why he is disappointed with the verdict.

Are you satisfied with the verdict?
The verdict disappointed us because the four people found guilty by the court -- advocate Ranjan Dwivedi, Gopalji, Santoshanand Avadhuta and Sudevananda Avadhuta -- are actually innocent.
We are not happy; we are still waiting for justice.
We never thought it would take 40 years for the verdict in the case of a railway minister who was so popular back then.

Innocent?
The four accused convicted by the court are innocent, I am 100 per cent sure. Innocents have been framed in the case.
I am not blaming or questioning the court because the verdict is on the basis of the chargesheet filed by the CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation). The CBI is known for manipulating such things.

What do you base your views on?
I have been saying this ever since I appeared as a witness in the case years ago.
The Ananda Marg (a religious group) was not behind my father's killing ( the four men convicted in the case belong to the Ananda Marg which was then accused of anti-government activities).
Anand Margis had no reason or cause to go to the extent of eliminating my father. My father was a deeply religious person and a devout Hindu. He used to worship and offer rituals.

Who do you think was involved?
It is for the government and its investigative agencies to come out with the real story and the real people behind the murder of a powerful leader of the country.

Can you recall the incident?
I was only 22 or 23 years old and never dared to talk to my father directly, who was considered close to Mrs Indira Gandhi, the prime minister.
I remember when he was brought to Danapur near Patna (after the blast), hours were lost because of a delayed train, but my father was coherent despite serious injuries.
While he was being taken for an X-ray, he told me, 'Hum theek hain, humko kuch nahin huan hain, Jagannath ko dekho, bahut khun nikla hain' ('I am alright, you look after Jagannath -- he is bleeding profusely' -- referring to his younger brother Jagannath Mishra, who was also injured in the blast, and later became Bihar chief minister twice.)

What do you think should be done now?
The government should order the CBI to re-investigate the case. They should re-investigate the case on the basis of the initial inquiry conducted by the Bihar government following my father's murder.
I have information that the CBI had taken over the case without the recommendation of the Bihar government which was then investigating the case. (Courtesy of Rediff News)

Definition of Hypocrites and When To Forgive Them

"(5) Hypocrites are:"

"(a) Those who give indulgence to falsehood;"

"(b) Those who are ungrateful to their benefactors;"

"(c) Those who do not keep their word;"

"(d) Those who betray;"

"(e) Those who slander behind one's back."

"(6) You may come to a temporary truce with a hypocrite, but do not forgive till his/her nature is reformed. Immediate forgiveness is a special weakness of mind. It results in worse harm to society."

"Those who cherish class distinctions, communalism, provincialism and casteism while indulging in propaganda about universalism are also hypocrites." (Caryacarya, part 2, Society, points #5-6)

~ In Spite Of Having You Very Close, It Is Still Hard To Fully Realise You ~

"Toma'ke ka'che peyeo cena' da'y..." (PS 2288)

Purport:

O' Parama Purusa, Baba, O' my Dearmost, You are mine - You are very close to me. Often I think that I have understood You completely; but when I contemplate more deeply I realise that I know not. To understand You fully, the unit mind must lose its individual identity. As long as one is cognizant of their own unit existence, then You cannot be realised. So, in spite of having You very close, it is still not possible for me to fully realise You. O' Divine Entity, You are my very intimate and closest One: You smile softly and say You love me. Yet when I long for You and yearn to have You in a more intimate way, You are not coming that close. Then I think that I do not properly understand Your mind - Your desire. Otherwise surely You would come deep into the depths of my heart. Alas, I do not know how to satisfy You completely.

O' my Lord, just when I think I have completely understood You, and just when I think I have truly come to know You, i.e. Your ways and Your inner plans, then with Your divine liila You shower even more of Your divine love and I become restless to get You more and more close. I feel so much love for You in my heart that my eyes constantly rain and shower tears when I think of You. It is Your grace.

O' Parama Purusa Baba, due to Your infinite compassion I have understood that only You are the Essence. You alone are the Cosmic Nucleus of this vast universe. By Your grace I have forgotten all those transitory expressions. I no longer run after the ephemeral things of this mundane world. Baba, I have accepted the greatness of Your divine liila. I understand that Your liila cannot be understood. [1]  Now I only think and sing: "O' Lord, please forgive me for my lapses, wrongdoing and negative deeds. Please shower Your causeless grace on me."

Baba, You can only be attained through surrender and love. O' Lord please grace me; please fill me with Your divine compassion...

NOTES FOR PRABHAT SAMGIITA #2288:

[1] "Toma'r liila'y ha'r ma'niya'chi": This phrase from the third stanza of the above Prabhat Samgiita is neatly represented by these below teachings.

"Surrender yourself to His will. Shake off your load of self-conceit. Lighten the burden of your life and float yourself on the waves of His will. It is He who is teaching you the sa'dhana' in the guise of a Guru (preceptor); it is He who is strengthening your knowledge and faith in the guise of a philosopher. You are plundering His mercy in everything day and night. Go on working as a machine, leaving the doership to Him. How little can your poor intellect comprehend or analyse His unfathomable sport (liila')! So, instead of trying to comprehend or analyse keep the bearing of that inscrutable juggler aglow before your eyes." (Ananda Marga Ideology and Way of Life - 4)

"Parama Puruśa is beyond the scope of relativity. Why is He making the world dance? Why has He made Paramarasa-Samudra? The answer to this cannot be known in the world of causality. Why Paramátmá has done something has no answer because He is beyond the scope of causality. Hence that which is non-causal, that which is beyond the scope of causality is Liilá. Whatever Paramátmá does is Liilá, but what Jiiva does is Kriidá. The wise will do Kriidá in such a way as to adjust their waves with the waves of Liilá. They will not try to know why Liilámaya has done an action. They will simply try to know Liilámaya Himself. If you cannot know the cause of a trifling thing like dancing, how can you know the cause of the action of Liilámaya? Jiiva has a very small brain and a very small cranium. It is not possible for it to know the action of Liilámaya. Suppose someone is an MA in 20 subjects. If he or she is asked suddenly to appear in the MA examination, he will not pass – he will have to read again, then he will have to appear. This proves that the Jiiva fails even to succeed in its own Kriidá. So how can it understand the cause of the Liilá of Liilámaya? It cannot. The best approach is to love Him, is to join His party. If there is true love the Master Magician will certainly make you understand everything because the more the members of His party know, the more convenient it is for Him." (Subhasita Samgraha - 19, Parama Puruśa)

== Section 2 ==

The section below demarcated by asterisks is an entirely different topic,
completely unrelated to the above material. It stands on its own as a point of interest.

********************************
Would Drive Them To The Brink Of Insanity

"Forgetfulness is a providential decree. Usually human beings forget their past lives. Is this forgetfulness a blessing or a curse? It is a blessing because human beings feel burdened by the weight of one life. It would be impossible for them to carry the burden of many lives together."

"The human mind is sentimental – full of love, affection, camaraderie, etc. People have a deep attraction to this world; they remain preoccupied throughout their lives with fears and anxieties for the safety of their families. So many problems have to be confronted. The problems of one life alone are enough to make people restless. If they had to face the problems of several lives, they would be unable to lead a natural life. The problems of the past lives, compounded by the strife of the present life, would drive them to the brink of insanity. Secondly, it is difficult for people to be detached from love and attachment for one life. So much effort is required to overcome the bondages of attachment and march towards Parama Puruśa. If the memory of the past lives is revived, the bondage of attachment will tighten its grip, putting a halt to spiritual advancement. One will be caught in the grip of worldly attachment. Thus the decree of merciful providence is, “Let human beings be oblivious of their past lives.”" (APH-4, Cerebral and Extra-Cerebral Memory)

~ O' Parama Purusa, You Are My Eternal Bandhu, No One Else ~

"Nayaneri ainjan ma'nasranjain tumi janame maran'e sa'thii mor..." (PS 1370)

Purport:

O' Parama Purusa, You are so gracious. You are the ainjan (ointment of knowledge) of my eyes; You are Manasrainjan [1], the One who saturates my mind with devotion; You are with me life after life, in birth and in death, always - up to eternity. O' Divine Entity, in the vast sky of my mind, in my mental horizon, Your attractive and charming form is vibrating and shining. Seeing Your exquisite beauty & divine vibration, I have become completely captivated and devotionally ensconced in You.

O' Parama Purusa, this expressed universe is situated in the mirror of Your maya. Everything is resonating in Your divine sound - omnkara (shinjit o nu'pure), i.e. A U M, srsti sthithi laya [2]. Please grace me, by looking towards me; please shower me in Your divine compassion. O' Citta-cor / Chit-chor [3], O' Parama Purusa, You are captivating my mind in all the ways.

Baba, O' my Dearmost, I want You and You alone. I do not want anything from You. I only have one desire: Please grant me parabhakti [4] and keep me at Your lotus feet, always. I want to surrender my entire being unto You. O' Lord, please grace me and allow me to concentrate all my feelings and surrender my whole existence at Your feet. You are my Goal; You are my Ista. Baba, You are like the moon and I am like the cakor / chakor [5] bird, always involved in Your ideation.

O' Divine Entity, O' Baba, You are my everything; You are the Goal of my life. My only desire is that You please grace me and give me a place eternally at Your lotus feet by granting me parabhakti...

NOTES FOR PRABHAT SAMGIITA #1370:

[1] Ma'nasrainjan: The mind is affected or coloured by whatever one thinks about in day to day life. Every thought has a particular colour and that colour varies based on one's object of contemplation. If a businessman is thinking primarily about his business, then his mind is coloured in that way. A drunkard's mind is coloured with the thought of wine. When the mind is completely obsessed with a particular thought, the mind becomes fully coloured in that manner, whether it be tamasik, sentient, or spiritual etc.

When Parama Purusa graciously colours a sadhaka's mind with devotion, they remain wholly ensconced in the thought of Parama Purusa. If a new sadhaka cannot do sadhana at all, then we can understand that their mind is not coloured with devotion. And if someone longs to do more and more meditation, we can understand that their mind is deeply coloured with with divinity.

Depending on the nature of one's thought, their mental colour changes. It may be black, red, yellow or white etc. Those bhaktas who think of Parama Pursua exclusively will have a white-coloured mind; it will be white effulgence. A violent person's mind will be red in colour. Remember, this colour is not their skin colour, nor any other external colour. Here we are only talking about the colour of their mind - nothing else.

Baba has given countless demonstrations on this. He used to make two sadhakas sit facing one another. Then He would bestow upon one the power to see into the other's mind. Then that devotee would be able to clearly see the colour of the other sadhaka's mental plate. Still today this is possible. When one advances in sadhana, they can easily see another's mental colour. Immediately, they can understand what type of person they are. In that case, nobody can hide. There is no scope for hypocrisy.

Parama Purusa, in His role as Ma'nasrainjan, is that Divine Entity who colours and saturates the mind of sadhakas in the fountain of devotion.

Baba says, "'rainjana', which means 'the One who colours' - that which colours the mind." (Ananda Vacanamrtam - 1)

So He is that Cosmic Being who graciously showers devotional love into the heart and mind of the bhakta. And by such overwhelming Cosmic grace, the devotee becomes immersed in Supreme bliss and comes in the closest proximity with that Love Personified Entity: Parama Purusa.

We all know that devotion is that unique ingredient which allows one to advance in the spiritual field. Without innate love for Parama Purusa one can never succeed.

[2] Shinjit O Nu'pure: This universe exists in the mind of Parama Purusa and is marked by three processes: Creation, sustenance, and destruction. Those process are represented by three sounds: A - U - MA. That is the sound of omnkara. Thus Parama Purusa is dancing in the rhythm of creation, sustenance, and destruction. These are the sounds emanating from the ankle bell of Parama Purusa.

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Listen to these three sounds of aum: a, u, ma. They represent the creation, the retention [or preservation], and the destruction. The first sound, a, represents creation; the second sound, u, represents retention; the third sound, ma, represents destruction. So all those innumerable sounds, all those fifty sounds, are represented by these supreme sounds, a, u and ma; and collectively a-u-ma becomes aum.” (AV-14, Acoustic Roots)

For unit beings the sound they hear depends upon the degree of their realisation. If, by His grace, their mind is in an exalted state then they will hear the full omnkara sound. If one's mind is less elevated they will hear a different type of sound like the roar of the ocean, the sweet melody of the flute, the chirping of the crickets etc. At different stages of realisation the sadhaka can hear these sounds as detailed in the discourse, “The Six Stages of Realization.”

So it is all depend upon the quality of mind. That determines which sound a person will hear. It is similar to someone looking at a very colourful flower. If their eyes are perfect they will see all the colours of that flower. And if their vision is compromised in any way or if they are colour-blind they will only see one or two of the colours. It depends upon the quality of their vision. In the same way, hearing the omnkara sound is wholly dependent upon the quality of mind of the aspirant.

In the case of Parama Purusa, He is always basking in that omnkara sound as that is the sound emanating from His own mind.

[3] Citta-cor / Chit-chor / Citcor: In His role as 'Citcor', Parama Purusa is the Thief or Stealer of the devotee's mind. How does He steal the mind? He captivates their mind and attracts the bhakta by His exquisite beauty and charm - whereby the sadhaka cannot think of anything or anyone else. The sadhaka has lost control of his own mind: It incessantly and unknowingly rushes towards Parama Purusa. The One who makes this happen is Citcor - the Stealer of the mind.

And to some degree this happens in the mundane realm as well, though it is degenerating and not long-lasting. There are numerous worldly examples where a person's mind is stolen. For instance, if they lost money, if they are infatuated with mundane attraction, if they are anxious about something - in all such cases when the person's mind runs again and again in that direction. So to some degree their mind has been stolen. The person's mind is no longer their own - they do not have control over it. Over and over, their mind is thinking of something - yet that something is not eternal but rather short-lived. So the effect is degenerating. Because their I-feeling has become attached to something mundane. In the real sense that is not citcor, but rather a reflection of a reflection of the stage of citcor.

The Entity that causes someone to lose control of their mind is Citcor - the stealer of the mind. And this is a deeply spiritual state. In the devotional sphere, only Parama Purusa is Citcor. The sadhaka thinks of Him, unknowingly. Always the mind is goaded in that direction. Even if the bhakta intentionally tries not to think in this way, still his mind becomes ensconced in the thought of the Supreme, i.e. Parama Purusa. This is an elevating experience and has a wholly beneficial result.

Ultimately, when this condition climaxes, in that culminating state the unit mind - the jiiva'tma - becomes one with Supreme Consciousness.

Lastly, another name of Citcor is Makhan Cor (Butter Thief).

A number of dogmatic worshipers think that Lord Krsna is a butter-thief and they portray Lord Krsna as a small child who has stolen butter whereby the child Krsna is eating a lot of saturated fat. The sages tried to teach the common people with analogies but due to a very low standard the people took it in a literal way until finally it became an entrenched dogma. They do not like to hear the real truth of the matter. Even new people believe this.

[4] Parabhakti: Par means divine; and apara means worldly. The feminine is para and when combined with bhakti, it is parabhakti. That is the highest devotion. In that blessed state, devotees want to do each and everything for Parama Purusa and give Him pleasure. In return, they do not want anything. Those sadhakas who got Parama Purusa, by His grace, have gotten everything.

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "When one wants Parama Purus'a from Parama Purus'a, then that bhakti is para'bhakti...And what is para'bhakti? 'O Parama Purus'a, You know whether I am Your devotee or not. It is You who are to judge whether I am Your devotee or not -- but I want You...I want You. And why do I want You? Because I want to serve You'." (Subhasita Samgraha - 24, p.97)

[5] Cakor / Chakor Bird: The red-legged Bartavelle bird or Greek Partridge that seems to subsist on moonlight alone. All night long the cakor bird looks and stares at the moon - wanting to soak up and drink each and every ounce of moonlight. It is completely linked with the moon (vidhu). That is why it is said that the cakor bird has a deeply loving relation with the moon. In Baba's above devotional song, the bhakta is compared to the cakor and Parama Purusa is likened to the moon.
