Loving accusation of bhakta to Parama Purusa

Prabhat Samgiita Intro: Cannot be realised by those with a dry heart

The majority of Prabhat Samgiita compositions express above average or higher devotion. For those not adapted in higher lessons of sadhana of sahaja yoga, such songs are beyond their grasp. And sometimes they may feel uncomfortable also. To truly feel Prabhat Samgiita, deeper sadhana is needed. Otherwise, the sweetness of Prabhat Samgiita cannot be realised by those with a dry heart. Generally, Prabhat Samgiita  needs a subtle mind to understand. Until one has basic attraction for Parama Purusa, Prabhat Samgiita will just be something purely theoretical. But nobody should feel hopeless. After a few days of proper sadhana one can derive sweetness from Prabhat Samgiita. And if one wants to have better understand then read it after meditation.

"Tomáke sadái d́áki, áŕále tháki, shono ki mor kathá.." (Prabhat Samgiita #4499)

Purport:

O' Parama Purusa, I go on calling You always to tell You of my suffering. But You never respond. It seems like You do not even care. Alas, remaining hidden, do You even listen to all my tales and talks. O' my Dearmost, please say something. Please let me know that You were at least listening. Why don't You speak. It seems that You do not understand the longing and pain of my heart. O’ Lord, after listening & knowing my itikatha - my life story and tales of woe - do You understand my misery - please tell me.

In the rose garden every day roses blossom, but due to the blistering heat of the sun their petals wither away and lie in the dust. Baba, I am that petal and You are the sun. By Your divine grace, each and every day my devotion blooms and blossoms for You. Yet, ultimately, I get burned in my melancholic longing for You. Due to Your lack of response, that devotion dries up and withers away. O’ my Lord, how You ignore me. I burn in longing for You - oh what a  blissful feeling of burning in the fire of melancholy.

Baba, You have put me in the midst of so many thorns - it is an anti-devotional  surrounding. And You have forced me to struggle constantly with thunderstorms and bad weather. You harass me making my heart dry and by putting me in a this situation. How unkind this lila’ is of Yours that You play. By thinking of  Your lila’, even the eloquent speaker becomes speechless. The one who is very loquacious becomes dumb. Baba, O' Parama Purusa, I go on calling You constantly. By remaining hidden it looks like You do not have any feeling towards me. It seems You do not care about my tears of longing…

More on Prabhat Samgiita: Just like a small child who lovingly and sweetly complains to its mother, in the same manner here the bhakta is lovingly placing his complaint before Parama Purusa - the nearest and dearest One. This type of very close and intimate relation is characterized by tremendous sweetness and love. That is what is depicted in this song.

Above average devotion is needed to understand this song. This type of feeling develops when one’s sadhana is of a very high standard - by His grace. Those with lower sadhana will not understand this song. Strong devotion is needed and when that is present then the feelings expressed in this song are very natural.

In contrast, if that mind-set is not there - if one is not experiencing high sadhana - then one will think the feelings expressed in this song are odd or peculiar. It is just like when a child is young then it has tremendous degree of love for the mother and will cry when she is not present. As the one ages though that degree of love steadily declines such that older children will think it is strange how a young child is crying for its mother. Because that older child does not have that high degree of love for mother. Similarly, to understand this song, above average devotion for the Parama Purusa is needed.

This type of devotion is not just some theoretical notion. In Ananda Marga there are many sadhakas who have this feeling in their practical life - even today. They are fortunate; their life has become successful. Because this type of ardent love towards Parama Purusa is devotion. And when one has devotion one has everything. There is nothing left to gain. With devotion surely one is going to attain Parama Purusa, by His grace. It just depends upon the degree of one’s sincerity.

What to speak of a sadhaka, if an ordinary, or even a degraded person, does sadhana sincerely, and from the deep core of their heart they request, “O’ Parama Purusa, I want nothing else, please grace me with the highest devotion”, then the afore-described deep devotional love will quickly develop, by His grace.

The above Prabhat Samgiita composition carries this idea.

Blind religious people divide human society - Ananda Vanii

"Human society is one and indivisible, don’t try to divide it. Each and every individual should be looked upon as the manifestation of the Cosmic Entity." (1)

“You see, in the psycho-physical sphere, many people are guided by – rather goaded by – dogmas. Dogmas have taken root in the human mind. People cannot get rid of these false ideas because they have been injected into their minds since childhood. As a result, one human society is divided into different nations, and one nation is divided into different religions; religions also have different castes, and caste also have different sub-castes – what kind of situation is this? We have only learned how to divide and subdivide humanity, and we never learned how to unite the people. This is all due to the defective teachings of dogmas.” (2)

Note: The above is one of Baba’s original Ananda Vaniis. These original and true Ananda Vaniis are unique, eternal guidelines that stand as complete discourses in and of themselves. They are unlike Fake Ananda Vaniis which are fabricated by most of the groups - H, B etc.

Quiz: test your knowledge of AM + Answer

Intro:

Kindly read the below quote from Baba's teachings. At the end of the quote a question has been posed. If your answer to the question is correct then it means you read Baba's books carefully; and, if your answer is wrong or you do not know the answer, then it signifies that you need to pay more attention when reading Guru's teachings. After all, if sadhakas are not diligent in studying Baba's books then who is going to read them - non-margiis?

“Cunning vipras [religious priests], whom I call intellectual satans, tried to turn the minds of the people from practical reality towards an imaginary void by preaching contrived philosophies. The essence of their voluminous treatises and verbose annotations to lengthy aphorisms was: the world is an illusion; therefore renounce the world and do not be attracted to its illusions. Become desireless, detached and self-abnegating by offering all your wealth at the feet of the vipras [religious priests]. Of course such philosophies did not preach that the world was also illusory for the vipras [religious priests] who received the offerings – clearly because it was through such ploys that they were able to achieve their objectives.” (1)

Quiz - Question:

Who is Baba referring to in the above quote?

Most probably, as an Ananda Margii, you know what the answer is. But if not, or if you want confirmation, read on below for the answer.

Answer to the Quiz

In His above teaching, Baba is talking about the dogmatic, exploitative priests from the Buddhist and Hindu traditions. Those Buddhist priests (a) preach the doctrine of nihilism and (b) misguide people to empty the mind and meditate on nothingness. In a similar vein, Hindu priests imposed their faulty view that this entire world is an illusion, mayavada. Thus people were indoctrinated into the idea that they should not protest against exploitation, but rather focus only on the afterlife etc.

What is seva’? - Ananda Vanii #28

"All human beings are to be served with the same steadiness in all the three strata – physical, mental and spiritual – and you have to render the service by ascribing Náráyańahood to the served. Remember that your service does not oblige the Supreme, rather you are obliged because you have such a chance to serve the Supreme in the form of living beings."

You must be the harbingers - Ananda Vanii #36

"Clouds cannot overcast the sun for a long time. The creatures of darkness never want the expansive exaltation of human society. Even then, human beings shall march ahead. No one can arrest the speed of their progress. You must be the harbingers, you must be the pioneers of this victorious march. See that not a single individual lags behind."

Sadhana when and why:
in childhood, youth, adult life, and old age

Baba says, "Regarding age, it might be appropriate to say that there are basically four stages in human life. In the first stage, the primary duty of the human being is to receive knowledge and do dharma sadhana. In the second stage, one must fulfill worldly duties and perform dharma sadhana. In the third stage, one must see to any remaining family responsibilities and perform dharma sadhana. Finally, in the fourth stage, when the human body has become incapable of performing worldly duties, one must do dharma sadhana alone. So there are no barriers of age as far as the requirements for a sadhaka are concerned." (1)

Note: Some of the religions preach that one should only spend their later years for contemplative activities and the rest of the life should be spent on worldly affairs. In Ananda Marga, we do not subscribe to such a belief. Sadhana is to be performed from the earliest possible moment and extended through the course of one's entire life. So many other worldly duties and responsibilities will come and go, but throughout life one must be vigilant in the practice of dharma sadhana. Waiting till old age will not do. In old age, both body and mind are not adequately equipped to take on great, new endeavours like sadhana etc. So those of advanced age are unable to embark on the path of sadhana. Whereas those who have been practicing since childhood can certainly manage their sadhana practice in their later years. For them there is no problem.

Prabhat Samgiita

Namby-pamby devotee means no devotion

Baba says, "You must continue doing good to society, and at the same time must fight against the bad...On the path of dharma, one is not only to do noble deeds; one must also fight against the dishonest people both are virtuous actions. There are many good people in the society - noble people engaged in noble deeds - who are not ready to fight against wrongs and injustices. This sort of passive benevolence does not really promote the cause of human progress in the world. What is desirable is to acquire virtue by doing noble deeds and fighting against all sins and crimes. Both are mandatory, both an integral part of dharma." (1)

Note: If we follow Baba's above mandate our organisation will be free from all kinds of negativity. Stagnant minded people will not get the opportunity to pollute Baba's ideology by imposing their dogma.

Nobody can stay here - human beings will have
to move
towards Parama Purusa -
Ananda Vanii #74

“Everything in this universe is moving. The hours, days, human beings, stars, planets, nebula – all are on the move. Movement is a must for all, there is no scope for its cessation. The path of movement is not always smooth or strewn with flowers nor is it always beset with thorns or encumbered with violent clashes. According to the nature of the path, human beings will have to prepare themselves and move courageously. In that movement alone lies the very essence of life.”

Who is real a human being who is not

Baba says, "Those who have established themselves in their spiritual being through the practice of spiritual cult are the real human beings. Others, who do not move on the subtler and sublime path of spirituality, and behave like animals, are humans only in name. Human beings alone have the privilege to do sa'dhana'. Animals, because of their intellectual deficiencies, are unable to adhere to the spiritual cult..."
"Human beings, on the other hand, have the capacity to develop even in the spiritual realm. Those who do not pay heed to this special gift are animals, nay, even worse than animals. Animals are unable to make efforts for their spiritual development, whereas humans do have this ability." (1)

Note: Generally people think everyone with a human body as being human, but according to Baba's above teaching all are not human. In the above guideline Baba differentiates how and why.

Purport:

O' Parama Purusa, remembering You, I will move on the righteous path. By this way I will go on serving You - fulfilling Your desire. O' the dearmost Jewel of my mind, by Your grace always I will move towards You - forgetting the past, removing the staticity, and avoiding all sorts of dogma. I will go close to You, O’ Manoraj [1].

O' Divine Entity, Baba, by Your grace, with the stroke of my feet, I will crush all my selfishness. And, by Your grace, I will look towards everyone's needs and requirements. I will engage myself in everyone's service. Everyone's happiness is my happiness. This very idea I will contemplate in a new way from today onwards. I       will no longer remain self-centered from today.

Baba, O' Supreme One, thinking about Your love and Your greatness, & ideating on You, I shall become Yours. By Your grace, I will become one with You. All my narrowness will be destroyed and my whole existence will be transformed into vastness. O' my Lord, You are so gracious. With Your divine touch, my whole existence will be vibrated in ecstasy. You will graciously qualify me according to Your liking & I will be transformed. By this way, I will serve You according to Your desire.

Baba, remembering You, I will move on the righteous path - the path of sadhana, service, & sacrifice...

Re: Who does what in their later days of life

An excellent article. Could possibly strengthen it by going a step further back into history to see what the elderly belonging to the other psychological types thought about in their last moments.

The information might help to provide empirical evidence of the psychological characteristics of each personality type, particularly their thoughts on the "unfinished business" in their lives.

The information could possibly be obtained from ancient literature, poetry, scripture, etc.

Someone with an academic interest in the social cycle may wish to investigate.

Who can be ideal writer, artist + 3 more

Baba

This email contains four sections:

2. End Quote: Who can be ideal writer, artist

Who can be ideal writer, artist

Ananda Marga teachings guide us, “When for age after age society spins in the murky eddies of evil and vice, when individual and collective knavery masquerades as intelligence, when hypocrisy, bribery and fraud are the yardsticks for measuring the ability to lead – it is then that the genuine followers of Bháratii [the goddess of learning] must struggle on in spite of constant humiliation. Only taunts and insults will be their fate. Those who are afraid of these insults are incapable of offering anything really lasting to humanity. How can people who lack moral strength, under whose feet the soil is not hard and strong, invite anyone into a cool, refreshing shelter and impart happiness to them? It may be possible to drag oneself through life by sucking the blood of others like social parasites, but this will not bring fulfilment to either sáhityikas or their readers.”
“The artist or sáhityika who assumes the responsibility of leading humanity along the path to light from the caverns of darkness will have to heed the road signs on that path. It is not possible to guide others with mere cheap, superficial knowledge, like a half-baked pandit who reads a half-a-dozen books and then spouts a few mouthfuls of grandiloquence, and who has obtained a doctorate by plagiarizing others’ works. Rather it is necessary for the sáhityika or artist to have a keen and vigorous insight, without which all their endeavours will prove fruitless. Merely juggling words or depicting defects in society will not satisfy the hunger of the human mind – and such creations of art are indeed valueless for social progress as well. One must know the path, and one must also know how to move on it. If those who have not comprehended what the form of society will be, allow the trends of the past that have shaped the present to proceed unchecked, they can never lead society to the path of perfection. They will in fact thrust society into darkness in the name of social reform; they will encourage license in the name of freedom. Instead of modelling a woman after the ideal of a goddess, they will mould the image of the goddess after the ideal of a harlot.” (1)

Who is scared of the spread of the ideals of dharma - Ananda Vanii #4

"The purport of Dharma Sádhaná is to look upon every person, every object of this universe as one integral entity. To jeopardize the unity of the human race by creating factions is not the purpose of Dharma. Those who encourage vested interests survive on the mental weaknesses of people and their dissensions, and that is why they are scared of the spread of the ideals of Dharma and exhibit their intolerance towards it in all sorts of immoral ways, such as abuse, false propaganda and lies. People must not be cowed by this, they have got to march ahead. It is to be borne in mind that hindrances are beneficial to human beings on the path of righteousness and to continue to fight against them is what is sádhaná." (1)

O' Parama Purusa, I do not have any quality
even then you have given me everything

"Ámáy keno bhálobásile, guń nái, guń nái jinánao nái..." (Prabhat Samgiita #2283)

Puport:

O' Parama Purusa, You are so loving and so gracious; why do You love me so much. I do not have any quality, merit, nor do I have any knowledge or learning. What then did You see in me that made You shower Your grace on me.

O' my Lord, You have saturated my heart with a strong feeling of devotion for You. You have bestowed upon me an awakened intellect to serve the society. Knowing that I am helpless, I am shelterless, You have granted me everything. You have given me everything - more than that was needed - in all realms. It is Your causeless grace.

O' Parama Purusa Baba, You brought me onto this earth by providing me with a human body. And You filled my mind with devotion. And top of all, You infused a strong longing of paramartha for You. Even then, such is my miserable condition: I always remain forgetful about You and Your grace. Baba, why do You love me so much…

Real spiritual aspirants can maintain their restraint
in spite of intense provocation
- Ananda Vanii #8

"Those who can maintain their restraint in spite of intense provocation are the real spiritual aspirants. They alone have overcome anger. Inspire those who are liars and criminals to live honest lives by pointing out their defects. This is the only spiritual approach to punish wrongdoers. Supreme truth is ever resplendent and can never be tarnished by false propaganda."

The section below demarcated by asterisks is an entirely different topic,
completely unrelated to the above material. It stands on its own as a point of interest.

*********************************************
How one can become Parama Purusa

Sadguru Baba says, “When the pleasure-seeking unit mind blindly runs after unit-objects, Puruśa also gets smitten by the same mental attributes. He appears to be as if in bondage. But when the unit mind shuns its attraction for mundane objects and accepts that Supreme Puruśa as its only pabulum, it gets an opportunity to become one with the Cosmic Mind, giving up its finitude. With the attainment of the witness-ship of the Integral Mind it becomes one with the Puruśottama. In the absence of bondage of enjoyership (Bhoktábhava) the unit mind attains emancipation from all kinds of fetters.” (1)

Note: This is the essence of human life. When one is no longer allured by worldly attractions and sincerely directs the mind towards Parama Purusa, then one can become one with Him. This is the aim of sadhana and the path of yoga - realising Him. He is within but people are not aware. When, through sadhana, this ignorance is removed, then one truly feels they are Parama Purusa. And that is realisation, i.e. the feeling in the heart and mind that, "I am Brahma." At first one must impose this idea in their sadhana, but as one involves more deeply in their meditation then by His grace that feeling develops from within. Then sadhana is very blissful and one has advanced along the path of spirituality, by His grace.

Who is great in true sense

Baba

This email contains four sections:
1. PS #2340: Now there is no one whom I feel is alien; everyone is mine, my own
2. Find out what is the highest truth - Ananda Vanii
3. End Quote: Who is great in true sense

Who is great in true sense

Baba says, "Who is mahat (great), who is maha'na (great), about this it has been said, 'paropaka'rat mahat', or those who are serving others. They are called mahat. Those who have studied volumes of books, or those who accumulated huge wealth, those who have a prestigious family heritage, good reputation in the society, all these things are there, etc even then they cannot be great if they do not serve others." "Those who are serving others, they are mahat, great. To do social service huge money is not needed. Whatever strength you have at present in your hand, utilise that to serve others. If body is strong physically then serve with physical body, and if you have money then serve with your money, if you have intellect then do with intellect, if you have courage then do with that, if you do not have anything then you do by your good thoughts and well-wishing. Human beings become great by serving others. But where there is not service they become low and mean. They become meager." (1)

Now there is no one whom I feel is alien; everyone is mine, my own

Purport:

Now, after such a long time, the cimmerian darkness has finally disappeared; and, the crimson dawn is smiling today. In my mental plate, in my mind’s mirror, His divine effulgence is emanating with the expression of His divine love. In my mind, the particles of His divine love are buoyant.

Now there is no one whom I feel is alien; everyone is mine, my own. This entire universe - flora and fauna - everything is filled with the feeling of being part of my own vast cosmic family. Amongst this entire world, throughout this mobile and immobile universe, I only see Him in my heart and soul’s firmament. He is Parama Purusa Baba. This creation is nothing but His divine play.

In order to get Him (Parama Purusa), I do not go to any “holy land”, Ananda Nagar, Tiljala Tomb tiirtha, Jamalpur, Varanasi, Rameshwaram, Puri, or Kailash etc. Neither do I go to Bodhgaya, Mecca, Rome, Jerusalem, or any other external place in search of Him, Parama Purusa. And I also do not observe any external, dogmatic rituals or penance such as idol worship, deity puja, dogmatic “holy dips” in river Ganges, namaz, prayer, nature worship, or  any other dogmatic offering like animal sacrifice etc to get His blessing. Nor do I go to any temples - neither Buddha, nor Jain, nor Hindu, Gurudwara, mosque, church, nor any synagogue etc - to attain realization of God. I do not go to any such places in order to get Him & have His grace. I just love Him in the deep corner of my mind through shravana, manana, niddidhyasana [1], kiirtana, bhajana, dhyana japa, etc. He always resides in my mental lotus in Guru cakra. By His grace I feel His attraction & love. I only yearn to become one with Him…

Note for Prabhat Samgiita #2340

[1] Shravan, Manan, Niddhidhyasana: Here below Baba explains the great import of these three devotional practices.

Baba says, "To attain Him human beings have to take recourse to shravana (constantly hearing His name), manana (constantly ideating on Him) and nididya'sana (constantly meditating on Him). The Supreme Entity is Gurha, that is, He is lying hidden in the innermost recess of the human entity. To attain Him one must penetrate deep within oneself, and for that the development of an introversial outlook is essential." (1)

Find out what is the highest truth - Ananda Vanii #68

Ananda Vanii states, "The first and the final word of manifestation is mobility or dynamicity. Just as movement has no cessation, the path of movement also has no end. In this very movement lies the happy union between eternal ethics and the ageless supra-sensory realization – their centripetal affinity. It is not enough for a person to merely understand and abide by the truth, rather it must be translated into reality in the practical lives of living beings. With the greatest fulfilment in buds, flowers and fruits, each and every life must be made effulgent. Everyone should be made to realize that in the path of movement the Supreme fulfilment is the highest truth." (1)

Note 1: The above is one of Baba’s original Ananda Vaniis. These original and true Ananda Vaniis are unique, eternal guidelines that stand as complete discourses in and of themselves. They are unlike Fake Ananda Vaniis.

Some confused: purpose of Ananda Marga children’s homes + 4 more

When this relation starts then the real meaning
and fulfillment of life commences

Namaskar
Those of a materialistic mindset think that power, post, money, and worldly relations are the base of life. They think, “I live and die for this - i.e. power, post, & money etc. For this, I have come on this earth to live happily and enjoy.” In this way, due to avidya maya they pass their whole life in drowsiness. They cannot comprehend this basic fact that what they are depending upon is not permanent. Those things cannot last forever.

In this universe, everything is moving and the speed of movement also varies. So when two people are moving in with a similar speed then they are called a family. But no two persons can maintain a similar speed for long. Either one moves away, dies, divorces, or their liking or disliking changes. What they formerly cherished has now become useless in their eyes.

That is why nothing in this created world can be the base of life. None of those things can provide permanent happiness. Animals cannot comprehend this simple truth - but humans can understand it. Those who fail to comprehend it are worse than animals. The bottom line is that the Eternal Entity Parama Purusa alone is the base of life. He was with you, He is with you, and He will always be with you up to eternity. So when you have one Entity who always remains with You then why not cultivate a close and intimate relation with that Supreme Entity. That will signify the start of gaining the real meaning and fulfillment of life.

Ananda Marga ideology states, "That which is finite cannot be the base of your life, because it will be used up and will leave your mind unsheltered. Thrusting you in the abyss of darkness, it will pursue its course on the unending path. Therefore, no one except Brahma, the beginningless, endless and infinite can be the object of your mind and the base of your life.” (1)

Krsneshvar

Some confused about
purpose of Ananda Marga children’s homes

Namaskar,
Every margii family - every margii parent - hopes for their children to become dedicated and committed Ananda Margiis. This is the central aim and goal for every parent. To that end while raising the child they do so many things. They sing kiirtan to the young infant, raise the child as a vegetarian, bring the child to dharmacakra, and so much sharing and teaching is done about Ananda Marga in order to guide the precious child onto the path of dharma.

And again, the overall goal is to make that child into a committed Ananda Margii. And by His grace, that child will become a great sadhaka. But if it does not happen that does not mean that those margii parents held a different agenda. All along, their singular aim was to make that child into a dedicated Ananda Margii.

Likewise, the goal of every hospital is to cure every patient; but along the way some patients invariably die. But that does not mean that the hospital’s goal was to kill those patients. But some people think that, "No, the goal of the hospital was to kill those patients."

Similarly, the goal of every student is to pass their examination; but invariably there are many who fail. But that does not mean that the goal of those students was to fail that examination. But some people think that, "No, the goal of those students was to fail the examination."

In the same way, the goal of every Ananda Marga children’s home is to create Wts. Those kids are raised with this ideal in mind. Yet if it does not come to fruition that does not mean our Ananda Marga children’s homes do not have the goal to create Wts. But some people think that, "No, the goal of those children’s homes is not to create Wts."

So with regards to our children’s homes, no matter what those boys and girls proceed to do in life, all along the only aim was to raise those kids to be wholetime workers of Ananda Marga.

In Him,
Sadhana

Note: Remember Wt means a wholetime worker. That means someone who spends all their time - all the 24hrs - in social service work. Such Wts may or may not be a God-realised soul. Here, with respect to our Wts, an emphasis is placed on the notion that they are workers.
