Jinanii avarta kiirtan + 4 more

Baba

Jinanii avarta kiirtan

Namaskar,

In Ananda Marga, there are three types of sadhakas: jinaniis, karmiis, and bhaktas. There will always be a mixture of grades of sadhakas. New people are coming into human life and enter onto a particular path. After many lives and with God's grace one day they become more subtle in their approach. Depending upon a sadhaka's inherent inclinations and mental tendencies, one will pursue the path differently, in a particular manner.

Dry descriptions of avarta kiirtan & kaoshikii

Below are the dry descriptions of avarta kiirtan and kaoshikii. Jinaniis or karmiis pursue their practice in that way. At the same time, no bhakta should feel burdened or pressured. Remember that Baba has explained His Ananda Marga practices and philosophies in various ways to accommodate diverse grades of people, and varying standards of mind. Some are jinana or karma oriented and some are more inclined towards bhakti. Everyone should do what feels most comfortable for them. Baba has approved multiple ways for this very purpose.

Here are two dry descriptions of our avarta kiirtan and kaoshikii practices. These may appeal to jinaniis or karmiis.

Avarta kiirtan for jinaniis & karmiis

This is a technical ideation of avarta kiirtam that is practiced by jinaniis and karmiis.
1.  I am the embodiment of sincerity.
2.  I have innate love for Parama Purusa.
3.  I have purified my mind with the fire of devotion.
4.  I am overcoming all internal and external obstacles.
5.  O’ Lord, take me onto Your lap.
6.  I surrender my everything to You.

Bhaktas may not like to be bothered by these more intricate approaches. In that case they may adopt a more simple, personal outlook.

Kaoshikii & avarta kiirtan also

Just as one may have a different perspective on microvita or Prabhat Samgiita, the same can be said with regards to kaoshikii and avarta kiirtan also. There is a very dry explanation of kaoshikii where one takes on a different ideation for each direction, and side by side one can simply think of pleasing Baba while doing their kaoshikii dance.

In avarta kiirtan also there are two diverse approaches:
(a) In a more jinanii or karmii style, the aspirant can adopt different ideations for each direction. And these ideations generally focus on oneself and singing about oneself, i.e. the unit ego: 'I have purified my mind with the fire of devotion, I am the embodiment of sincerity', etc.
(b) Or one can simply think of Baba and ideate on Him.

Jinaniis and karmiis may like a more dry and analytical explanation. For instance, jinaniis or karmiis prefer to think, “I am the embodiment of sincerity” then that is also fine etc. Whereas bhaktas prefer the more simple, intimate approach of pleasing Him. Bhaktas do not like to engage in all kinds of technical or lengthy descriptions when dancing avarta kiirtan. Rather, bhaktas prefer Baba's straightforward method of bringing the mind to the sahasrara cakra and thinking of Him.

Here, the chief point is that we should always remember that Baba has given something for everyone.

Kaoshikii for jinaniis & karmiis

This is a dry ideation of kaoshikii which is practiced by jinaniis and karmiis.

Ananda Marga ideology states, "Kaośikii: The two hands when upraised and folded together represent, “Now I am trying to establish a link with Parama Puruśa.” Both hands bending to the right indicate, “I know the right way to request You.” The bending of the body should be at a 45° angular projection. The leftward movement represents, “I know how to fulfil Your demands.” The movement of bending in front suggests complete surrender. The backward bending represents, “I am ready to face all troubles that may come,” The last tá, tá represents, “O Lord, I repeat Your rhythm.”" (1)

Conclusion

Bhaktas may just prefer to sing kiirtan and dance kaoshikii with their mind immersed in Him. Trying to follow all of the above dry jinanii and karmii operations may verily take the mind away from being with Parama Purusa. So adopting a purely spiritual stance is suitable for bhaktas.

Final point

Then there is also the notion that the description of avarta kiirtan is not printed in any book, so it may not be entirely accurate. If anyone has the original cassette(s) where Baba discusses the dry meaning of avarta kiirtan, they are requested to write this network immediately.

Why racial supremacy is bogus

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Members of a particular race who consider themselves superior to others also very frequently inflict injustices on other sections of society. The expulsion (see note *) of the Jews from Germany by Hitler’s so-called superior Aryan race is a glaring example of racial injustice in society. In this country, also, injustices on Harijans by the so-called superior races have caused a tremendous amount of disruption in society. To obviate this type of social injustice, the first attempt should be to do away with racial distinctions in society. In Ananda Marga the first step that one takes is to forget one’s race or sect – to no longer identify oneself with one’s race, caste or sect – regardless of whether it was superior or inferior.” (A Few Problems Solved - 7, Social Psychology) (2)

(*) “Between 1941 and 1945, Nazi Germany and its collaborators systematically murdered some six million Jews across German-occupied Europe, around two-thirds of Europe's Jewish population.” (Wikipedia)

In Ananda Marga, the first step that one takes is to forget one’s race or sect – to no longer identify oneself with one’s race, caste or sect – regardless of whether it was superior or inferior.

Culture of all humanity

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Although according to perfect logic the culture of all humanity is one and indivisible, the exponents of isms do not understand this. They prefer to assert that the different sets of script and language, behaviour and habit, and local variations in expression, are actually the constituents of human culture.” (3)

Value of military

Prout philosophy states, “Everywhere in the manifested or unmanifested universe there is a ceaseless fight going on between Vidyá and Avidyá. For running a government we require strong military and police forces, for in society there is also the fight between Vidyá and Avidyá. Even within one’s self such a fight will continue. Those countries which cry for disarmament are also preparing within for war. Even after the  establishment of a universal government we will require military and police forces for maintaining peace.” (1)

How dhyana is a cure

Ananda Marga Philosophy teaches us, “Question: If the medicine or mother tincture required for homoeopathic medicine is prepared in a sentient environment which contains positive microvita, will the medicine prepared from that medium or mother tincture have more effect than ordinary medicine available in the market?”

“Answer: There is no doubt that the medicine prepared in a sentient environment by sentient people, from a medium or mother tincture which is also prepared in a sentient environment, will attract more positive microvita than ordinary medicines, so it will have a much greater effect in curing a patient.”

“If a person contracts a disease caused by negative microvita before initiation and does dhyána sincerely after initiation, the disease will not spread but be contained. However, for different types of diseases one has to follow different food restrictions and practice dhyána at specific times.”

“If a person contracts a disease caused by negative microvita after initiation, does dhyána perfectly and follows certain food restrictions, the disease will be completely cured. Dhyána attracts many positive microvita. Negative microvita can only be controlled by positive microvita. The positive microvita eat the negative microvita and this is the reason why the disease is cured. For example, if a person is suffering from jaundice, a disease caused by negative microvita, and if dhyána is practised perfectly, the disease will be cured very quickly. In the case of cancer, say stomach cancer, certain food restrictions will have to be strictly followed. When pain starts in the stomach one should sit for dhyána, but just prior to this one should take some juice from a sweet tasting, not a sour tasting fruit. After performing dhyána, one should take another drink which is different from the first drink. The patient should also avoid any food which causes gas in the stomach, such as pappad, cauliflower, cabbage, turnip, etc.” (1)

Re: False history removal?

Namaskar,

Here in follow-up are some graphic accounts of Columbus's dealings and tactics.

Ears and nose cut off

According to the report, Columbus once punished a man found guilty of stealing corn by having his ears and nose cut off and then selling him into slavery. Testimony recorded in the report claims that Columbus congratulated his brother Bartolomeo on "defending the family" when the latter ordered a woman paraded naked through the streets and then had her tongue cut out for suggesting that Columbus was of lowly birth. The document also describes how Columbus put down native unrest and revolt; he first ordered a brutal crackdown in which many natives were killed and then paraded their dismembered bodies through the streets in an  attempt to discourage further rebellion. "Columbus's government was characterised by a form of tyranny," Consuelo Varela, a Spanish historian who has seen the document, told journalists. "Even those who loved him had to admit the atrocities that had taken place." Because of their gross mismanagement of governance, Columbus and his brothers were arrested and imprisoned upon their return to Spain from the third voyage. They lingered in jail for six weeks before busy King Ferdinand ordered their release. (Courtesy of Wikipedia)

Decapitate them or cut them in half with a single blow

Columbus's soldiers killed and enslaved with impunity at every landing. When Columbus fell ill in 1495, "what little restraint he had maintained over his men disappeared as he went through a lengthy period of recuperation. The troops went wild, stealing, killing, raping, and torturing natives, trying to force them to divulge the whereabouts of the imagined treasure-houses of gold." According to Las Casas, 50,000 natives perished during this period. Upon his recovery, Columbus organized his troops' efforts, forming a squadron of several hundred heavily armed men and more than twenty attack dogs. The men tore across the land, killing thousands of sick and unarmed natives. Soldiers would use their captives for sword practice, attempting to decapitate them or cut them in half with a single blow.

The historian Howard Zinn writes that Columbus spearheaded a massive slave trade; in 1495 his men captured in a single raid 1500 Arawak men, women, and children. When he shipped five hundred of the slaves to Spain, 40 percent died en route. Historian James W. Loewen asserts that "Columbus not only sent the first slaves across the Atlantic, he probably sent more slaves – about five thousand – than any other individual... other nations rushed to emulate Columbus."

Las Casas writes that when slaves held in captivity began to die at high rates, Columbus switched to a different system of forced labor: he ordered all natives over the age of thirteen to collect a specified amount (one hawk's bell full) of gold powder every three months. Natives who brought the amount were given a copper token to hang around their necks, and those found without tokens had their hands amputated and were left to bleed to death.

The Arawaks attempted to fight back against Columbus's men but lacked their armor, guns, swords, and horses. When taken prisoner, they were hanged or burned to death. Desperation led to mass suicides and infanticide among the natives. In just two years under Columbus's governorship more than half of the 250,000 Arawaks in Haiti were dead. (Courtesy of Wikipedia)

Sleep useful and harmful

Ananda Marga philosophy guides us, “Yes, we were discussing sleep. After labouring beyond a certain point in the wakeful state, one's nerve fibres become exhausted and one feels the need to rest. In the wakeful state, as the nerve cells are constantly performing the functions of thinking and recollecting, they become fatigued. Thus for psychic and physical health, one needs to sleep – the exhausted nerve cells and fibres will fall into sleep of their own accord. The nerve cells of those who do physical labour become extremely exhausted, and that is why the moment they go to bed they immediately fall asleep.” (1)
