Do dadhiicis feel neglected? + 2 more

Baba

Do dadhiicis feel neglected?

Namaskar,

One wt was telling margiis that, “We must do something for those dadhiicis so they will not feel neglected. At the very least, we must make a tomb for them and say thanks.” The following is the reply.

Ananda Marga Caryacarya states, "The departed soul does not get any advantage from the shráddha ceremony [memorial ceremony]." (1)

Dadhiici divas benefits living beings not those dadhiicis

As our rational intellect guides us, there is no question of communicating with, addressing, or giving thanks to those past dadhiicis.

Ananda Marga Caryacarya states, "The departed soul does not get any advantage from the shráddha ceremony [memorial ceremony]." (2)

So this social observance of Dadhiici Divas is purely for those living on this earth. The day of Dadhiici Divas serves as a reminder to all to sacrifice for the great cause in all kinds of small and big ways. In whatever way one can sacrifice for the call of bhagavad dharma, then that is to be done. So this day serves as a reminder of what is truly important in life and what our priorities should be. As far as our life opportunities allow, we should follow in the footsteps of those who did the ultimate sacrifice for bhagavad dharma.

When attempting any great work - i.e. dharmic endeavour - there will always be opposition. The day of Dadhiici Divas is a time to ready ourselves and focus the mind in order to overcome all obstacles when establishing dharmic ideals.

Who is benefitted?

Most understand that our shraddha ceremony is for the comfort of loved ones - not for the benefit of the deceased.

Ananda Marga Caryacarya states, "The departed soul does not get any advantage from the shráddha ceremony [memorial ceremony]." (3)

When any person dies, then the surviving family members and loved ones perform that shraddha ceremony within 12 days of the time of passing. At this ceremony, the deceased cannot hear or see anything that is happening, nor can the deceased communicate with those present there. The deceased has either become one with Parama Purusa or they are awaiting to take birth in a new body. In either case, they have no capacity to watch over the shraddha ceremony proceedings. Baba has strictly stated that the shraddha ceremony is for the benefit and comfort of the surviving family members and loved ones.

Ananda Marga Caryacarya states, "The departed soul does not get any advantage from the shráddha ceremony [memorial ceremony]. It is only meant for the psychic satisfaction of the person performing it." (4)

Conclusion

Our social festivals and functions like our shraddha ceremony and Dadhiici Divas are for the living - not the dadhiicis or the sages of old. We cannot communicate with those past dadhiicis. Most understand this while only a few may be confused.

In our each and every social function we are to ideate on the Supreme Entity - Parama Purusa - and attend to our societal duties and responsibilities. In social functions like the shraddha ceremony and the upcoming Dadhiici Divas, there is absolutely no scope to communicate with those dadhiicis. Nor are those dadhiicis watching and overseeing the proceedings. About this, everyone should be crystal-clear.

Nirbhay Deva

You control every single expression

“Tumi ámár átmá, maner ádhár, priya sarvádhár..." (Prabhat Samgiita #4588)

Purport:

My Supreme One, You are my soul, the base of my mind, and my entire existence. You are my absolute foundation. Everything is depending upon You and revolving around You. In life as well as in death, You are existing all the time. In my daily existence, You are my Guide, and after my death also You remain with me eternally.

Parama Purusa, in the daytime, the sun rises and sets according to Your command. And in the nighttime the moon ascends and descends by Your order. All the galaxies and celestial bodies like the Milky Way, nebulae, and stars move according to Your wish. In the universe, You control every single expression.

Baba, the first time I experienced You and realised Your exquisite refulgence in my life, I lost myself completely. Parama Purusa, with Your supreme resplendence, please remove all my samskaras and stains, and make my life successful. Baba, You are my Soul of souls, Heart of hearts - You are my everything. I surrender myself completely unto You...

Bliss & requital goes concurrently

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "The reaping of consequences of original actions performed by a human being occurs mainly in the psychic sphere. And if a person attains the blessings of evolved beings and the Cosmic grace in that same psychic sphere, the problem is solved. Pain and misery is bound to come. Depending upon one's inborn sam'ska'ras and the actions performed, tortures and afflictions are bound to be undergone - the expression of one's own samskara [reactive momenta]. Tortures and afflictions will not be as severely painful as before; with the blessing and grace, the psychic afflictions will be removed. Well, when there is pain and the pain is not felt as such, should it then be called pain? In this case, in the psychic sphere, one will remain in a state of bliss. Let the afflictions come. When the affliction and pain are not felt as such, one should not worry about it." (1)

The only way to permanently relieve oneself of any suffering is not to run after worldly allurements but rather get His divine grace. Just a tiny portion of His grace is enough to free the mind of any suffering. Then one will just be in a state of peace - bliss.

Sadhaka not feel the suffering

According to Ananda Marga philosophy, nobody can escape the reactions of their past deeds. When the all-benevolent Guru wishes then He showers His grace and the mind becomes elevated. In that state Mr X is not undergoing any suffering; but, others will see Mr X’s plight and think that Mr X is suffering. But because Mr X does not feel any pain then for him there is no suffering of that bad samskara. For bhaktas, they are in bliss by His grace whenever they have to face any bad samskara.

For example, suppose a bhakta and a non-devotee are both facing their own individual samskara and became sick with tuberculosis. Physically both are suffering. But the bhakta is not undergoing any psychic suffering. If one is not in mental agony they may remain in a blissful state. The end result is that although both are suffering from the same disease physically, but only the non-bhakta is suffering psychically. In that case the bhakta’s mind may remain ensconced in bliss.
