Import of strong sadhakas + 5 more

Baba
Import of strong sadhakas

Namaskar,

By Baba's divine grace, all those following 16 Points are extremely fortunate and this letter explains exactly why. We should consider this matter seriously as we together embark on life in this new era.

How suffering humanity is waiting

A person's talents, skills, and qualities are more valuable when they are needed. Suppose a baker just baked a truck load of food, and suddenly victims of a famine were brought to town. Naturally the baker's bread is going to be highly valued. Because that bread is the solution for the present problem—the bread will help nourish those emaciated by the famine.
http://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

In contrast, if the baker is walking around with his bread and the entire populace is well-fed, then no one will seek out that baker. In that case, his services and breads will not be very highly valued.

Same can be said of a doctor. If he lives in a place where all are suffering from an outbreak of a disease, then the doctor's services will be placed at a premium; whereas, if the doctor resides in a district where all have perfect health, then he will not be needed much.

In essence, if nobody is suffering from a particular problem, then the solution to that problem is of little value. Whereas, if a person has the skills to solve an urgent issue, then that individual will be highly regarded. Below we will apply this theory to the life of Ananda Margiis. First we must understand the era in which we were all born.

Why honest people are with you & will remain with you

We live in what is termed as—yuga sandhi.

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "What does “yugasandhi” mean? “Yuga” means “age” and “sandhi” means “joint”. Therefore yugasandhi means “juncture between ages”...you can see for yourself how the social movement is grinding to a halt. When social progress loses its velocity it is called “yugasandhi” (transitional period) in Sam'skrta." (1)

Ours is the transitional period, marked by a severe lull—wherein society is enmeshed in so many problems. In addition, during the yuga sandhi there is a strict dichotomy: Some very, very good people as well as some very, very bad people. And in between are the masses who are at the mercy of the exploiters. A struggle between the two sides erupts.
http://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "You have all been born in such a transitional period and have assembled here today. In the future, the honest and virtuous people of the society will respond to your call and will unite. The same polarization is taking place now as occurred in the past: the honest people are with you and will remain with you; the dishonest people will oppose you now and will continue their efforts to block your progress in future. Whenever there is a war between dharma and adharma, you are sure to be victorious. You are not alone – dharma is with you, the benevolent intellect is with you, and I am also with you." (2)

So in this yuga sandhi, society is devastated and all are looking for a way out. The good people are providing the solutions and the bad people are aiming to maintain their exploitative grip on society.

Yugasandhi: era of extreme good & bad

Ours is the transitional period. Taraka Brahma has taken His advent to lead the society out from the darkness, and now the great drama is going to play out.

At present, we can see the polarization: good and bad on either side. Smart and courageous people are involved in saving the planet from environmental destruction, addressing social issues, leading healthier lives, learning meditation, and serving others, while side by side, the exploiters are entrenched in cheating, butchering, and suppressing the masses. There is extreme good and extreme bad.
http://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

In between, the masses are suffering from so many problems: food shortages, housing issues, wars and destruction, disease, financial upheaval, invasions, terrorism and more. Problems abound. We live in a time where we are surrounded by gigantic troubles in all directions.

How AM ideology is the philosopher's stone

Sadguru Baba has graciously come and given all the solutions:

"A correct spiritual ideology is the only solution to the problems confronting the world. From this perspective we can call Ananda Marga ideology the philosopher's stone. Just as the philosopher's stone is meant to transform everything into gold, Ananda Marga ideology can, most definitely, find a just and rational solution whenever it is applied to any problem." (3)

So here is an overview:
1) Our human society is suffering terribly;
2) Baba has graced the humanity with the answer to every problem;
3) The exploiters are involved in their evil dance;
4) The masses are looking for the way out—they are seeking solutions;
5) Every Ananda Margii is aware of the solutions in the form of Ananda Marga ideology and our Ananda Marga way of life.
http://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

So the stage has been set where every Ananda Margii will be highly needed to bring solutions to the desperate humanity.

The unfortunate situation is that in their confusion most of the populace is looking in the wrong places for the answers. They are like hungry infants picking up paper, pens, sticks and stones and putting them in their mouth—yet that will not satisfy their hunger. The same is the case with today's masses. They are looking emphatically in all directions and trying all kinds of things, but they are not getting the right solution.

The needed time to step forward

Thus, each and every Ananda Margii has been blessed and placed in a very special position. There are problems in the world and Sadguru Baba has given us the answers. Ours is a needed role and never before has the situation been more urgent.

So those following 16 Points are fortunate. Your services are going to be highly regarded—that means you have been blessed with the opportunity to serve. There is no higher or more noble endeavour. All that is needed now is the right and proper action. Prepare oneself by being more sincere in sadhana and Sixteen Points and start teaching and role-modeling all that you know.

If we had been born a few hundred years ago, we would not have had this opportunity as the problems were not as grave as today. If we were born 200 years into the future, most of today's problems would have been solved and society would be rapidly moving ahead. In that case, one would not have the opportunity to truly help humanity. Because by then most will be on the proper path.
http://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Conclusion: a blessed life

So one who is following 16 Points is fortunate; the situation of good margiis is unique. By Guru's grace, we have been born in this most ragged and ravaged era where struggle and strife are rampant. And we have the solutions: spiritual, moral, political, economic, personal, emotional, social, and individual. In every sphere of life Baba has given the solution.

You have the medicine or cure for the day—in a time when those solutions are highly needed. Things cannot get any worse—society has hit rock bottom.

Those who know about Ananda Marga sadhana and practice Ananda Marga teachings have much to offer, teach, and distribute to society. That means you as an Ananda Margii are a deep well of knowledge and wisdom for the masses. That is why those following 16 Points are fortunate. Because you hold the key to the very issues most ailing the society. What could be a more blessed position than that.

Everybody is expecting your help & guidance

He is depending on you to lead the people forward. That is His cherished gift unto you—to lead the society out of the darkness. For this reason those Ananda Margiis following 16 Points are fortunate.

Ananda Marga ideology says, "You boys and you girls, you are to establish yourselves as developed human beings and as blessed with the glory of human excellence at the helm of every affair. Society will recognize you because of your service, because of your sacrifice. And not only that, everybody is expecting that they will get your help, your assistance, your guidance, when there is a dire necessity for the same. You boys and you girls, you should know that I solely depend on you for the translation of our lofty ideology." (4)

What is our weapon?

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “In the pure psychic level, defective thoughts prevail in human society, and as a result, an individual or a group of people often try to suppress or oppress others. Due to this type of defective psychology, a vast section of the populace suffers from psychic depression. The Renaissance movement will have to be active against this sort of exploitation, and it will have to save human society from the clutches of these defective philosophies. These ailments should be removed and dispelled from the minds of human beings.”
“In the mobility of the psychic world, there are certain defective thoughts prevailing – that we humans are destined to rule this earth, and the creatures are destined to be ruled by us. You will have to fight against this type of psychology with the help of your strong weapon. What is that weapon? Neohumanism.” (5)

Watch out: reborn as luminous body

Ananda Marga philosophy guides us, "There are seven kinds of luminous bodies: yakśa, siddha, gandharva, kinnara, vidyádhara, Prakrtiliina and videhaliina. They are categorized according to their respective psychologies. Suppose there is a very elevated person who often ideates on the Supreme Consciousness, but who has some greed for wealth. He does not, however, express it openly to the Supreme, nor does he even think of it directly. He thinks indirectly, "Oh, since I am a devotee of the Supreme Consciousness, He will certainly give me enormous wealth and make me immensely rich." Those who harbour this sort of covert desire are reborn as yaks'as." (1)

Note: Yaksas are one type of degraded being - i.e. those unfortunate ones who cannot get human framework because they are under punishment. Only after extreme punishment, after exhausting so many negative samskaras, may they again get human life. Once they attain human form they will need to get tantric initiation, adhere to the code of yama and niyama, and do maximum sadhana. Then after much effort, only by His grace, may they get moksa. So theirs is a long and arduous journey as they must suffer for millions of years. That is why meditating on money is very bad.

Some sadhaka businessmen and money-minded sadhakas who are indulged day and night in money matters will suffer in this way. They will be degenerated into yaksas. After facing punishment for millions of years, then who knows on which planet they may get the opportunity to live human life and do proper work and service. But if they again indulge in money matters, they will become yaksas (degraded beings) and this cycle will be repeated. They will spin round and round in this torturous pattern.

That is why Baba warns us that when one has a human body then the goal must be Parama Purusa - not money.

Essential knowledge about death

Ananda Marga ideology states, "When the physical body no longer remains, that is, when one passes into a bodiless state of existence, then the mind remains just as a seed, modified into the form of saḿskáras. There being no brain or nerve cell attached to it, it cannot perform any function. It commits no sin, nor can it acquire any virtue. It is completely good for nothing, a worthless entity. The cultivation of rationality is as much beyond its capacity as is mental work. Its existence thus is meaningless. Its only destiny is to carry the burden of saḿskáras over and over again. There is nothing else for it to do; it is a completely helpless being. It is only when it is privileged to have a physical structure that it is in a position to cultivate dharma; that is not possible under any other condition whatsoever. Even the feeling that “I cannot do dharma sádhaná” is absent there. Because mental functions are not possible without nerve cells. When there is a physical body, there is scope for the mind to think of higher things, and dharma sádhaná is possible for human beings." (1)

Degraded thoughts & physical demise

Ananda Marga Yogic Treatments states, "Mental purity helps particularly in keeping a person healthy. Impure thoughts increase the acidity of the blood and invite disorders of the stomach, heart and brain. That is why every human being should make as strong a habit as possible of selfless service and iishvara pranidhana (meditation). The best way to attain mental purity is to follow the principles of yama and niyama." (1)

We can say that Baba’s above guideline is wholly ignored and neglected by the general populace in materialistic societies where their mind is grossly involved in negative entertainment and doing so many degrading things etc. Such depraving habits are very bad: They heighten the acidity of the blood and harm the major organs of the body. The body is then susceptible and prone to disease. So acidic blood is the cause of disease. By purifying one’s thoughts through a spiritual way of life, a person’s physical health is enhanced, and the mind is refined and readied for deeper meditation.

Mind & ten motor / sensory organs

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “In most animals, and particularly in human beings, there are various kinds of nerve cells and nerve fibres. In common parlance the word nád́ii [channels] is used to mean these nerves, but they are not the same. The nerves are of two kinds: sensory nerves and motor nerves. The sensory nerves transmit the inferences through the gateway of organs to the nerve cells. The organs through which the inferences are received are called sensory organs. The motor nerves transmit the messages of the nerve cells to the [motor] organs which then express them. In that case the gateways of organs are called motor organs. In the bodies of many animals, and particularly in the bodies of human beings, there are five sensory organs: eyes, ears, nose, tongue and skin. Their function is extro-internal, to bring something within. So, another name for these is antahkarańa. The motor organs are five fold: mouth, hands, legs, genitals and anus. Their function is intro-external. So they are called bahihkarańa. Five means of internalization, five means of externalization and the mind constitute eleven organs.” (1)

The blows boomeranged and evil forces annihilated

"History bears testimony that whenever a person states the absolute truth in any sphere of life, whether it be spiritual, social, economic or otherwise; sought clarification of doubts or protested against injustice and wrongs, the evil forces forthwith plotted against the person, administered poison, slandered and assaulted that person with rage, misused authority and mercilessly dealt blow after blow; but the blows boomeranged and ultimately the evil forces were annihilated by those very blows. Remember, by an unalterable decree of history, the evil forces are destined to meet their final doom." (Ananda Vanii #41)

Note 1: True Ananda Vaniis have a number whereas Fake Ananda Vaniis do not - just as a fake car license plate has no number. By this way, you can easily recognise a Fake Ananda Vanii.

Zeal to attend weekly dharmacakra

Ananda Marga Philosophy states, “The indomitable mental force aroused as a result of collective Iishvara-Pranidhana will help you in solving any problem small or big on this earth. It is for this reason that you should always have a zeal to attend the weekly Dharmacakra regularly.” (A Guide To Human Conduct, last page)

Dharmacakra Means ‘Family Of Dharma’

In His Encyclopedia – “Laghu Nirukta” – on page 191 Baba explains that one of the meanings of ‘cakra’ is family, society, collection, or body. Thus the real meaning of dharmacakra is ‘family of dharma’. Similarly Brahmacakra means ‘family of Brahma’. We all know that the family of creation is the entire family of Brahma.

Baba is the Propounder of Ananda Marga philosophy and in that philosophy He has used various Sanskrit terms. To clarify the meaning of those terms Baba has given His own grammar books and encyclopedias etc. So those who want to learn AM philosophy indepthly should study Baba’s teachings on grammar also. Otherwise many concepts will remain beyond one’s grasp.

Recipe for bravery + 2 more

Baba
Recipe for bravery

Namaskar,

A person has strong faith in Ista when they bravely believe and have the internal feeling - “He helps me in ALL situations.” Without that strong faith then the situation will be the opposite - they will be weak, scared, and paralysed. So the braveness that "everything will be fine and Baba will take care and I am secure" comes from Ista. That courage is due to strictness in Ista that everything will be fine.

Think about an opposite scenario. Suppose someone got lost while driving their car, was not doing well in their various engagements, did not know how to act or what to do, or was involved in dangerous situations like a potentially serious accident. Imagine if they do not have anything to fall upon like Ista. In that situation, they will be paralysed or they will cry or get depressed like cowards. There are tens of thousands of examples of this in your neighbourhood. Such frightened and depressed people are pervasive throughout.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

So one should understand what is involved in the expression, "If you have Ista you will be brave and everything will be fine as Baba will save the situation." If anyone does not have that feeling then they will be paralysed like a coward and be terrified.

When a child trusts its mother then it remains bravely calm. That babe does not get paralysed. But if it does not have its mother then what? Then it will be terrified and cry out loudly and not stop crying. So Ista brings courage that, "I am under His divine shelter and nobody can do me harm."

Humans and animals - both are alike on this point. That is to say when they are with their master they feel more brave.

Why faith in Parama Purusa Ista makes one courageous

Some may wonder why cowardliness is so closely related with having a weak link and a low degree of faith in Parama Purusa (Ista). The reason is that when one thinks of Ista then immediately they gain strength. It is just like if your uncle is a king, and you live in his kingdom, then if he gives you his full support in your land dispute case, you will gain great confidence and strength knowing that your uncle's support is behind you and that he will do whatever is needed to gain victory. Same is the case when the provincial lieutenant is your best friend, then you feel quite brave and strong when you are residing in that province.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Likewise, when you know that Parama Purusa is the most powerful Entity, and when you think that He is your Parama Purusa Baba and He is always with you, then one can never succumb to cowardliness. Rather you will feel very courageous and strong. Fear only comes when one feels powerless. And it is impossible to feel powerless when you feel Ista's presence along with you. On a related plane, we see this with animals as well. Horses and dogs - even elephants - gain strength and courage when they know their master is with them. And certainly as sadhakas, when one feels that Parama Purusa (Ista) is with them then a tremendous, positive vibration - i.e. great force - is generated from within, by His grace.

The chief difference between the mundane examples noted above and one's link with the Sadguru Baba (Ista) is that the Parama Purusa (Ista) is with you all the time - everywhere. His power is almighty thus all 24 hrs He can destroy every problem even before that problem arises. He is omnipresent, omniscient, and omnipotent. In all times and in all situations, He is there guiding you to victory. In contrast, a king or a lieutenant may not even realize you are in problem, and even if they do, their power and abilities can wane at any moment. In that case they cannot be depended upon. Whereas Parama Purusa is eternal and always watching for your welfare. And without faith in Parama Purusa Baba, proper sadhana and spiritual progress are but a dream.

Conclusion

Regardless of how much wealth, intelligence, power, and post one has, in their life they also have experienced times when they feel helpless. Because human beings are not all-powerful. If one has faith in Ista, one always remains calm and brave in the face of any problem. Whatever is occurring in the entire universe, the energy behind that action comes from Parama Purusa. When one has full faith in Him then there will be a direct connection and one will feel the supply of energy. The degree of faith one has brings that same degree of courage and bravery. Without faith in Ista, sadhana becomes a meaningless ritual, and the person remains a coward.

Ananda Marga Caryacarya states, "Observe uncompromising strictness and faith regarding the sanctity of the Iśt́a (Goal)." (1)

Ananda Vanii says, "Be firm on sixteen points. Unite all the righteous forces. All the tall talks of the evil forces will be silenced.." (2)

Those who don’t seek You

“Tumi nei kon kháne go, bolo more bolo more…” (Prabhát Samgiita #4537)

Purport:

Parama Purusa, please tell me where You are not - let me know where You do not reside. In which nook and corner are You not existing. Baba, You are everywhere. Wherever I look, I see You there - in all the ten directions. You reside in the rivers and ponds, at the bottom of the ocean, from the desert to the deep forest, and also on top of the highest mountain peak. You are all-pervading.

Supreme Entity, You are ever-present in fire, air, and in the far distant blue sky - You are in all places. You are also on the Earth, and at the same time in the remote galaxies and nebulae and roots of gigantic trees. You are in all places and directions. You are everywhere, ever-present in the burning desert, the vast ocean, and at the same time in green vegetation, savanna, all directions. Also You are in the most horrifying Cimmerian darkness - Parama Purusa Baba You are omnipresent. You never go anywhere because Your being is saturated within each and every particle of this entire creation. You made us realize this truth through Your various expressions, including reporting and dharma samiiksa.

Omnipresent Entity, in search of You, so many are moving around facing so much suffering, wandering from one tiirtha to another, both in their own land and in far away places. Every location, all around, they are uselessly searching You in the external world. Baba, some commemorate so-called mahaprayan and declare that You are no more. Unfortunately, they do not search You within - in the deep core of their heart. Instead they travel around from one spot to the next, even after facing various pains and tortures for their penance. They just waste their time searching You in the external world. Those who don't seek You within never get You. Only virtuous and dharmic persons find You within, inside their mind and heart through their sadhana, shravan, manan, nididhyásana, kiirtan, dhyána etc. Such bhaktas realise that You are always sitting inside - smiling.

Baba, You are ever-present at each place. You are Parama Purusa and Taraka Brahma. You never leave me - always I am on Your lap. It is Your grace...

Sign of proper human beings

Ananda Marga ideology says, "Parama Purusa will be pleased when you serve His creation - not only human beings, but also plants, animals, and the rest of creation. That is bhu'ta yajina, pitr yajina, and nr yajina are to be performed. Those who have this feeling are human beings in the real sense of the term." (1)

Note: Service is an indisputable part of human life. Ananda Marga is unique in that our approach to service is not limited to helping other human beings. We are to work for the welfare of all creation including animals, plants, other primitive life forms, and even inanimate objects. Those who are not inclined to serve all of creation cannot be thought of as true human beings. Living a life solely in pursuit of one’s selfish ends will not do. One has to cultivate the desire to serve one and all.

According to Ananda Marga philosophy, service is unilateral. One serves others without wanting or expecting anything in return. If there is a give and take involved then it is business, not service. Only those with the sincere desire to serve are real human beings. Those involved in selfish pursuits in the name of social service are not up to the mark. In materialistic societies, people are primarily guided by self-interest and carnal pleasures. Theirs is not a life of social service. Though, in order to garner prestige, they engage in endeavours that look like they are doing social service.

Why military needed

Prout philosophy states, “Everywhere in the manifested or unmanifested universe there is a ceaseless fight going on between Vidyá and Avidyá. For running a government we require strong military and police forces, for in society there is also the fight between Vidyá and Avidyá. Even within one’s self such a fight will continue. Those countries which cry for disarmament are also preparing within for war. Even after the establishment of a universal government we will require military and police forces for maintaining peace.” (1)

Third limb of ayurveda

Ananda Marga philosophy says, “The third health-determining element is kapha, or the liquid, viscous portion of the body. Excess kapha creates spontaneous heat within the body which manifests externally as fever...Ginger is the enemy of kapha, the destroyer of kapha. Thus one name of ginger in ayurveda is kapha’ri. Similarly, arum or elephant root is the destroyer of arsha [piles] so arum in Sanskrit is called arsha’ri or arshaghnii.” (1)

Note: The first two health determining elements are va’yu and pitta.

Only people of low intellect get attracted to communism

Ananda Marga ideology states, “Countries which have both laborious and intellectually developed citizens have never accepted communism. For example, Karl Marx was born in Germany but his theory was not accepted there. Similarly, England gave shelter to Marx but did not accept his theory. The cooperative movement first started in England and the spirit of cooperation is reflected in many aspects of British society; consequently, Marxism has not been able to get a foothold in Britain. Japan is surrounded by communist countries like the Soviet Union, North Korea and China but it did not accept communism. The citizens of these countries, as well as of some other countries, are both laborious and intellectually developed, hence they have rejected Marxism.” (1)

Note: In India there was only state where communism was accepted for several decades. You are surely aware about that state.
