Story: Baba takes care + 6 more

Baba
Story: Baba takes care

Namaskar,

I received a phone call late at night. It was my daughter who lived far away. She told me that she was alone in the house; her husband had gone away for some official duty. Nobody else was there, and she felt seriously ill - as if she was going to die. Her chest and throat were severely congested and she could hardly breathe.

Hearing this, I thought, "What can I do now? How can I help? My daughter is so far away." Through the phone I could hear her gasping for air.

What a shame! I was a great distance from her, and she was in a remote area with no medical facilities nearby. There was no local ambulance service nor did any doctors live in the vicinity. Plus it was nighttime, and she was all alone. The situation was dire. I reassuringly told her that everything would be alright and that she should just chant Baba's name. We concluded our call and hung up the phone.

"Did you tell my problem to Baba?"

Mentally, I called out to Baba and said, "Baba, You are the Saviour. Only You can help us - my daughter is terribly ill - please resolve this problem."

In the early morning, my daughter called. She asked, "Did you tell my problem to Baba?"

"Why do you ask?", I inquired.

She answered, "During the night, Baba came and touched my forehead in my dream and blessed me. Now I am no longer suffering from any of those symptoms. I am fine. I feel great."

Hearing these words from my daughter brought tears to my eyes. I was so joyous and grateful. My mind went directly to Baba. I thought, "Baba, You are so gracious; You are always there to look after us - always. My daughter is now well; it is nothing but Your blessing - Your care."

Conclusion

Baba is always gracious - there are so many tales to tell. And still today such events are taking place, by His grace. Some people think that Baba is an historical figure of the past and that they lost their opportunity to communicate with Him. That’s why they observe mahaprayan (MPD) / annual death ceremony. Internally they feel that the opportunity and privilege of being with Baba is no longer available. They believe they cannot have His proximity and that they are left to only reminisce about His greatness annually at MPD. Thinking thus, they feel sad. Those who act like this fail to realise Baba's greatness. They are ignorant, unfortunately.

Baba is Parama Purusa; His existence is beyond time and space. Now, even at this very moment of reading this email you can have His grace and serve Him. You can do anything that bhaktas have done in the past when in His physical presence. So one should not feel that, "Oh dear me, now it is impossible to have His closeness and love."

Baba is always with you now and always. Bhaktas realise this truth and others do not. If you want to say something to Him then speak mentally. There is not even any need to use your vocal chords. When you mentally speak with Him, He listens. His ears are always ready to listen. If you want to offer something, then His hand is always ready to receive. If you want to do pranam, His lotus feet and His unfathomable grace are always present with you.

Grades of bhaktas: worst to best & who is where

There are various grades of bhaktas:

D-grade bhaktas: They request the Lord, “O’ Lord, please kill my enemies.”

C-grade bhaktas: They ask for worldly gains based on power, post, name, fame, and put forth mundane requests such as to cure their disease. They may make such requests for themselves and for loved ones as well.

B-grade bhaktas: They request Parama Purusa to grace them in sadhana so that they may feel bliss. Such bhaktas meditate on Him for their own happiness and joy - not to please Him.

A-grade bhaktas: They do not ask for anything. They think, “O’ Parama Purusa, whatever You do is fine, let thy will be done. I do not care whether I undergo pleasure or pain. Only I ask for strength to endure the suffering - always remembering You.” Such bhaktas do not want to give the bundle of their samskaras to Parama Purusa. Only they wish to serve and please Him.

So true bhaktas never ask for mundane or worldly things from the Lord. Their one and only desire is to please Him - such bhaktas goad all their actions in this way. For that they may ask for His grace.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Ananda Marga ideology says, "The highest-grade bhaktas say, “I want all my actions to give You joy. It’s immaterial whether that brings joy or pain to me, it doesn’t bother me at all. My only task is to give You joy”. This is called rágátmika bhakti and is the devotion of the highest category. One should possess this type of devotion. “I will do those actions which will make Parama Puruśa happy, but which may or may not bring joy to me.” Human beings should act in this way." (1)

Plagiary?

It is the accepted international standard and Baba's system not to copy another's work and publish it in your own way. Baba has given a very strict rule on plagiarism. Why is Baba against plagiarism or stealing someone's work? There are many reasons:

1) It is against the code of asteya (non-stealing).

2) Countless stories of bhaktas need to be published. But some do not want to do the hard work of compiling and writing these stories, so they just steal them from others. But new stories need to be told, otherwise so many unpublished stories of sadhakas will be lost and forgotten forever. So watch out for story thieves, and kindly help them not to steal by posting on social media in their own way. If you want to forward this story then attach the following yellow section with the story:

“Courtesy of unknown bhakta via Ananda Marga Universal (https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/)”

This will be treated as the standard protocol.

In my heart I feel Your care

"Tomár bhálobásá bujhe, nijeke khunje peyechi, tumi ele dhruva tárá seje, tava páne ceye calechi..." (Prabhat Samgiita #4504)

Purport:

My Parama Purusa, by understanding that You love me, I found my true self. By Your grace, I realised that I am not just this physical body; I have an eternal relation with You. Since the dawn of creation and beyond, You have been with me and cared for me. Earlier, I was confused about who I was. I thought I was just this physical being and that my life started with the birth of this body. I was always feeling sad and pessimistic about my future, but now, in my heart I feel Your care and realise that I am under Your shelter at Your lotus feet, always. I now know that You love me so much and that You are always with me, all the 24hrs. By Your blessing, I understand where I am; my life has become meaningful. You have emerged as the polestar of my life. I am moving towards You, by Your grace.

Baba, when I get fatigued and tired by involving in mundane works, when negative thoughts ruin my peace of mind and tranquility, and when the dark clouds of hopelessness float in the sky, then in that dark hour I take shelter under Your umbrella of love and affection.

Lord, my mental sky, air, breath, my entire existence, verily my everything is dancing according to the rhythm of Your sweet melody, Your ankle bell. I get consolation, and my hopes are fulfilled by Your samvit.

From the land of divine refulgence, with an unknown magical spell, one angel is beckoning me. My dearmost Parama Purusa Baba, You are that very apsera' (angel). I have understood this truth in my ańudhyana, by Your krpa.

Baba, by understanding that You love me, I found my true self...

Note for Prabhat Samgiita #4504:

[1] Samvit: Ananda Marga ideology guides us, "Samvit means spiritual consciousness, spiritual awakening. A man engaged in bad things all of a sudden feels that “No, I shouldn’t do all these things. No, I should be a good man henceforward.” Such an idea all of a sudden comes in his mind. And this thing, this change of mental tendency, is brought about by samvit shakti of Vidyámáyá. Do you follow? This is what is called samvit shakti. “No, henceforward I must be a good man. No, henceforward I must be a spiritualist. I must not encourage any depraving idea.” Samvit shakti." (1)

Buffaloes & attraction for water

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “It is worth pointing out that the buffalo came under man’s control a few thousand years after the cow was domesticated. The pure bison variety of buffalo is resistant to domestication, but the water buffalo, because of its lack of speed, has accepted man’s dominion for the sake of self-preservation. Since fondness for water is inherent in this variety of bison, their original instinctive tendencies awaken if they see water nearby. In the burning heat of summer, cart-pulling buffalo also will forget their sense of responsibility and take a dip, cart and all, if they see a pond – such happenings are not rare.” (1)

Way to prevent social unrest

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “If human beings lack the basic physical necessities of life they will not be able to follow higher pursuits. You will find that a person’s sense of discrimination is disturbed if he or she is confronted with only a little physical hardship. If an intellectual becomes angry, he or she may utter insentient words. Hence, the shortage of physical wealth results in restlessness and causes the loss of people’s sense of discrimination, and then people naturally tend towards brutality. It is because of this that communism has tended towards brutality. This is the underlying psychic reason.” (1)

Note: Here we apply Guru’s above teaching in two fundamental arenas: (a) the general society, and (b) one’s familial environment.

First, in order to keep peace and tranquility in society, Baba has explained that everyone’s basic living requirements must be met. If this is not achieved, there will be anger, fury, and unrest on the streets. For instance, if there is a shortage of grain and people do not have enough to eat, then riots often erupt. And at the time of an economic depression, crime increases. Verily if the people are hungry, homeless, lacking medical care, or any other type of shortage for their existential survival, then there is going to be trouble. The people will not remain calm, rather there will be an outbreak of violence, and even a rash of criminal activity - or both. Whenever there is a shortage of physical necessities, people quickly resort to sin or crime. To build up a healthy society, the minimum requirements must be met - otherwise there will not be harmony in the social sphere.

Second, if those whom you are living or working with do not have their physical needs met, then the overall atmosphere and relations will be ruined. So when with your close people or colleagues, it is important to ensure their existential needs are met. If they have not slept or eaten, then that is not the time to engage them in dialog and debate. They will be irritable, easily angered, and at their worst. So one should ensure that those around you are fed, rested, and have their basic needs met. If that is done, then one can engage in other realms with them. Sadly, due to a basic lack of awareness, so many simple interactions lead to horrible incidents of domestic violence and workplace feuds etc - all due to a lack of physical support etc. When in reality, this can be easily avoided.

Operative factor in tandava: remaining off the ground

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "Tandava: As long as a dancer remains above the ground, he derives much benefit; when he touches the ground, then those benefits are assimilated by the body. That is why in the tandava dance there is much jumping, because jumping requires the practitioner to remain off the ground for a fairly long period of time." (1)

Rend asunder the mists of sinful deeds

“The despondent humanity, in the monumental task of searching for veracity, sees the beacon leading to the path of effulgence. This immense task makes humanity’s existence resplendent and illumines its path of movement with the blazing tenderness of humanism. You are the blessed travellers on that effulgent path. Let the unique blending of your profound wisdom and intense urge for action rend asunder the mists of sinful deeds and smash to dust the jagged rocks of hypocrisy, and establish you in the realm of supreme fulfilment. This is my wish for you...” (Ananda Vanii #71)

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "Each of the gods and goddesses has a particular mount, or vehicle. Had they been modern gods and goddesses, their vehicle would have been a jeep. But the ancient gods and goddesses had birds and animals as vehicles. Now if you meditate on these birds and animals, yádrshii bhávaná yasya siddhirbhavati tádrshii [As you think, so you become]. How dangerous it is! It is more dangerous for women. They generally like to remain well-dressed and well-decorated. But if they worship Lakśmii and if they become like an owl which is the mount of Lakśmii (because in meditating on Lakśmii you are meditating on owl also), then would it be good?" (2)

Unlimited expansion of intellect is the predominant quality of human beings

Ananda Marga ideology states, "I said a little while ago, and I say again, that the psychic structures of human beings should be created by an all-encompassing philosophy which combines the magnanimity of the sky with the vibrational vastness of the ocean, ruffled by endless waves. A philosophy which fails to do so plunges people into the dark caverns of dogma and stifles their mundane, supra-mundane and spiritual progress under its crushing weight. People forget that the unlimited expansion of intellect is the predominant quality of human beings. When they lose this quality and become like beasts drawn to sensual pleasures, then regardless of what they might have achieved, they hardly deserve to be called human beings. Thus it is the duty of human beings to embrace with open heart and outstretched arms that all-inclusive philosophy which will never encourage them to harm humanity, either directly or indirectly."
