Pratyáhára is one lesson of sadhana

"Question: What is pratyáhára?"

"Answer: Pratyáhára is derived: prati – á – hr + ghaiṋ. The word áhára literally means “assimilating” or “taking something within”. As a yogic practice, pratyáhára means “withdrawal of the mind from external objectivity and goading the withdrawn mind toward Parama Puruśa”. (Yoga Psychology, Questions and Answers on Meditation)

"You must bring about a revolutionary change in the flow of your judgment and thought, and see how, after overcoming your fascination with external colour, your mind becomes tinged with the His glorious colour. In Ananda Marga Sadhana, the method of withdrawing the mind from degrading tendencies, and absorbing oneself in the colour of the Great, is called Pratyáhára Yoga (the yoga of withdrawal) or Varńárghyadána (the offering of colours). All people have a particular attraction for one or another object or activity and as soon as they become attracted to an object, then their minds become coloured with the colour of that object. You can withdraw your mind from the colour of that object and dye yourself in His colour by offering Him the captivating colour of the object that has attracted you: this is the real Pratyáhára Yoga. The word Pratyáhára means “to withdraw” – to withdraw the mind from its object." (1)

Note: In Astaunga Yoga, there are 8 limbs - one of which is pratyahara. We practice that as Guru puja as part of our regular sadhana routine. Guru puja is very important. After sadhana, one should always do Guru puja, and Guru puja can also be done on its own. After all, it is a lesson. By this way, one's attachment for mundane things slowly fades away. It is a perfect science. If, after practicing Guru puja, one is unable to get rid of their worldly attachments and / or a particular mental weakness, then best is to consult an acarya. In Senior Acarya Diary, Baba has given a detailed science and method for practicing Guru puja. One should learn how to do this from any acarya, one on one.

March of universal humanism must be made

“Since the very dawn of civilization, numerous isms have emerged before the humanity. Various rhythms of mobility have appeared but none of these has taught to look upon the entire humanity as an integral and indivisible entity. Hence, there is so much infighting so much intolerance amongst human beings. The human society of today has advanced considerably in the intellectual sphere. It must no longer sit inert. By applying all its might, the march of universal humanism must be made smooth by hook or by crook. Hence no latitude in procrastination or cowardliness of any sort should be permitted in this regard.” (Ananda Vanii #52)

Note 1: True Ananda Vaniis have a number whereas Fake Ananda Vaniis do not - just as a fake car license plate has no number. By this way, you can easily recognise a Fake Ananda Vanii.

Re: People get terrified remembering this key thing

Namaskar
Another wonderful source three dimensional skulls ..can be had via ceramics. Here in the west they sell them perfectly copied..with a small 7 watt  light bulb  inside...and wire coming out of the base. People market them for Halloween.
I have two in my house as a reminder that human life is like a bubble in the wind. I use them as night lights in my home. A real skull is usually devoid of the lower jaw..but is right for Tandava.

I was watching a fascinating documentary called "Particle Fever" a seventeen mile cyclotron in CERN Switzerland has been built and has shown the elusive Higgs particle exists.

At the entrance of this facility is a wonderful statuary of Siva Nataraj.

I am sure it is at the entrance  in honor of Oppenheimer.

As you might know after the first test of the Hydrigen bomb J Robert Oppenheimer quoted from the Bhagavad Gita..." I am Siva destroyer of worlds.."
Oppenheimer a genius but a true human being talked  against the US government..programs..they eventually destroyed him.
Thinking of this documentary AND Oppenheimer quoting the Gita .. I was walking in my local small town cemetery here in the US. Population only 5000. I happened upon a grave ...and there was an inscription on a stone." For every man who is born death is certain..and for every man who dies birth is certain."
Now you have to realize here in the west....you might be able to find an inscription from the Bhagavad Giita say in Los Angeles or New York City in a modern cemetery ..but I live in  a small western Pa town...and the cemetery I walk in harkens from the 1800s.! And there are thousands of stones but my eye found the inscription .
A rare incident indeed.

PS
Way back in the early 1970s at a retreat here in Tallequah Oklahoma...one married couple from Texas  wrote a wonderful Bhajan.
I have forgotten most of the lyrics...but some of them I do remember

I saw the dance of SHIVA in thunder wind and rain..
I saw the dance of SHIVA I'll never be the same

Came to earth as SHIVA..Ah ah ah ah ah ahhh
Came to earth as Krsna ...Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah
Cane to earth as BABA..Ah ah ah ah ah ah ah..
BABA his greatness the undiscovered mystery ...
No one knows the secret..No one knows the secret..No one knows the secret
No one knows the secret
BABA His greatness the Undiscovered Mystery...No one knows the secret!

The melody is equally wonderful and haunting

Islam: Why is there so much killing and bloodshed - 4 & more

Islam: Why there is so much killing and bloodshed - 4

Note: Links to the first three parts has been appended below.

Stinging from the rejection of his own town and tribe, Muhammad's message quickly become more intolerant and ruthless - particularly as he gained power. Islam's holiest book clearly reflects this contrast, with the later parts of the Quran adding violence and earthly defeats at the hands of Muslims to the woes of eternal damnation that the earlier parts of the book promises those who will not believe in Muhammad.

infidels were enslaved, converted upon point of death and slaughtered
It was at Medina that Islam evolved from a relatively peaceful religion borrowed from others and into a military force that was intended to govern all aspects of society. During these last ten years of Muhammad's life, infidels were evicted or enslaved, converted upon point of death and even rounded up and slaughtered depending on expediency.

To fund his quest for control, Muhammad first directed his followers to raid Meccan caravans in the holy months, when the victims would least expect it. This was despite the fact that the Meccans were not bothering him in Medina.

Murder innocent drivers and steal their property

Muhammad provided his people with convenient revelations "from Allah" which allowed them to murder innocent drivers and steal their property (Ibn Ishaq/Hisham 426). The people around him gradually developed a lust for things that could be taken in battle, including material comforts and captured women and children.

Often the people captured in battle would be brought before the self-proclaimed prophet, where they would plead for their lives, arguing, for example, that they would never have treated the Muslims that way. The traditions are quite clear in portraying Muhammad as largely unmoved by their pleas, and ordering their deaths anyway, often by horrible means. In one case, he orders a man slain, telling him that “Hell” will take care of the poor fellow’s orphaned daughter (Ishaq 459).

Inherent double standard in its relations with those outside the faith

The raids on caravans preceded the first major battle involving a Muslim army, the Battle of Badr. This was the spot where the Meccans had sent their own army to protect their caravans from Muslim raiders. Although, Muslims today like to claim that they only attack others in self-defense, this was clearly not the case in Muhammad's time. In fact, he had to compel his reluctant warriors with promises of paradise and assurances that their religion was more important than the lives of others.

Muhammad defeated the Meccan army at Badr, which emboldened him to begin dividing and conquering the three local Jewish tribes at Medina. Their mistake was to accept the Muslim presence, but reject Muhammad's claim that he was in the line of Jewish prophets. His stories from the Torah simply did not agree with their own. (Muhammad's recited version of Bible stories sounds more like fragmented fairy tales with the same moral - believe in his personal claim to be a prophet or else).

How these three tribes, the Banu Qaynuqa, the Banu Nadir, and the Banu Quyrayza met their fate is insightful into the Muslim mindset, which employs an inherent double standard in its relations with those outside the faith.

Why have You allowed poison to creep into each corner of the flower gardens

PS Intro: This below song describes the scene of that era, i.e. before the divine advent of Parama Purusa. In that time, the people were completely distraught and feeling helpless; they were pained by witnessing all the suffering of their brothers and sisters. Those days the whole humanity was being exploited, tortured, and choked. In response, various great devotees tried to solve the situation but they could not get victory over those wicked, demonic forces. That is why they began desperately calling for that Divine Entity - Parama Purusa - to come immediately and rescue them from those the cruel rulers and restore harmony and peace throughout the society.

So this song is the expression of the heart of those devotees from that era when they were desperately crying for His divine help. Upon hearing their call, by His sweet will, Parama Purusa Baba has taken advent as the Taraka Brahma; He has created a tremendous psycho-spiritual vibration whereby all the problems were solved - completely. In the very near future, in the coming hours and days, we will see those divine solutions manifest in the physical sphere.

"Mánavatá áj dhuláy lut́áy, tumi keno dúre rayecho..." (Prabhat Samgiita #2815)

Purport:

O' Parama Purusa, the whole humanity is wallowing in the dust. Humanity is suffering. The exploiters have grabbed the upper hand and the suffering humanity is at their mercy. Those selfish forces have created a black pact and are imposing their will on the innocent people. O’ Parama Purusa,  Why are You remaining far. All the sweet softness has been lost and turned into an abrasive roughness. Love and compassion have turned into animosity and cruelty. The sweet devotional feeling has completely dried up. O' Lord, are You not seeing this? Why are You remaining so far away.

In this present era, the fragrant flower pollen has become inert. It has lost its sweet aroma and has now become lifeless . The sandalwood has lost its aromatic fragrance and become crude and static, like a demon's body. Morality and devotion have been suppressed by those sinful forces. Why have You allowed poison to creep into each corner of the heart and the flower gardens? Why have You allowed noxious poison to float everywhere. Why are You letting the society become overrun by the darkness of those tamasika forces. O' Parama Purusa, why have You allowed this to happen.

O' Parama Purusa Baba, the great virtue of generations and generations of sadhana has become lost. Humanity's benevolent brilliance and compassionate endeavours - all those good and auspicious thoughts - have been crushed & are long gone. All the dharmic teachings of those great rishis and yogis has faded away. Demons have polluted the air, water, and  moonlight. The sweetness and purity in this world has gotten crushed by the demonic elements. Negative forces have taken over; demons in human form are ruling - doing their hellish dance of war and destruction. Why did You allow the devils to do their dance?

Baba, O' Parama Purusa Baba, why are You still remaining far...
