Pure AV 1 & 2: Special text box quotes

Namaskar,

The new Pure edition of Ánanda Vacanámrtam Parts 1 & 2 is unique in a number of ways. First and foremost, it is a 100% accurate rendering of Sadguru Baba’s original discourse. That is what makes it pure and special, as well as a true gift for humanity, at a dirt-cheap price. In contrast, earlier editions of AV 1 & 2 are wildly inaccurate, either missing large sections of Baba’s discourses, or littered with errors, or both.

So this Ánanda Vacanámrtam Parts 1 & 2 (Pure) is a true and proper rendering of what Sadguru Baba actually spoke. In addition, there are many features in this published edition that aim to make it easier and more meaningful for the reader, which have been discussed in prior letters.

Now here is the new thing in this series. Steps were taken to highlight some of Baba’s special teachings. In particular, some of Baba’s unique teachings have been placed in a “text box” at the end of many of the chapters. All done to give readers an opportunity to further reflect on Guru’s real words. And that is what we focus on here.

Gift of gold

This Pure edition of AV Parts 1 & 2 contains 46 discourses. And at the end of many of the chapters there is an inspiring or unique quote offset by some type of box or design. Here below is one example from page 195:

Here are some key points about the above image:

(A) This quote (“If there is any hidden desire…”) has been specially placed on the last page of chapter 34, “Salvation Is Possible While in This Very Body”.

(B) The quote was placed inside the black text box to garner the reader’s attention, as it is a very significant teaching on bhakti and spiritual life. Every true sadhaka will be keen to know about this.

(C) Now see the red box in the above image where it says, “AV 1 -2 Pure, “Who is Gopa””; that is the reference of the quote. That tells us that this quote is from another discourse in the book, “Who is Gopa”, i.e. chapter 11.

(D) So the above quote (“If there is any hidden desire…”) is not related with chapter 34 per se, even though it has been placed at the end of chapter 34. Rather, it is meant as a stand alone guideline. And if one wishes to know more about that quote then they can go to the discourse in which it was given, “Who is Gopa”, i.e. chapter 11.

(E) The editors have placed this type of unique Baba teaching at the end of many of the chapters. And this was done to give readers an opportunity to further reflect on Guru’s actual words.

Conclusion

Sadguru Baba’s divine teachings are wholly unparalleled and deserve to be printed in the finest way possible. That is our job as His disciples. Placing some of Baba’s special guidelines at the end of some of the chapters was done to this end, i.e. to highlight certain teachings. As readers and disciples of Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji, we should relish the opportunity to read these dharmic guidelines when we come across them at the end of some of the chapters in this Pure edition of AV 1 -2. And the book is available at a dirt-cheap price.

In Him,
Ksema Dev

Why multiple languages

Kindly know our aim is to capture the words that Baba spoke on a given occasion in the language that He spoke them. We want to emulate what those sadhakas heard and felt when they sat at His feet and listened to those discourses.

So if Baba spoke in one, two, or three languages, then the book was printed in that sequence, according to the original language. How can we change even one word that Guru spoke. This series of Pure AM books aims to present the actual words Baba spoke in the original language that He spoke them on that occasion - in an attempt to create that same vibration.
