How Ant Analogy Works

HOW ANT ANALOGY WORKS

Namaskar,
In one of Parama Purusa's well-known and famous teachings, He states that if even an ant dies prematurely then the entire universe will become imbalanced.

There are some who wonder how can this be true. After all, countless ants in countries around the globe are getting killed each and every day. Then how does this theorem work? How can it be that the premature death of a single ant ruins the equilibrium of the entire cosmos? Wouldn't the universe be in a constant state of disarray - or be destroyed entirely? That is the question that some raise.

The solution to this conundrum is contained in a few key steps.

NOBODY HAS THE CAPACITY TO GO AGAINST COSMIC LAW

EVERYTHING DONE BY HIS APPROVAL - NO ONE DIES PREMATURELY

1. Nobody has the capacity to go against Cosmic law; it is impossible. All must obey the order of the Supreme. Nobody has the strength to do anything without His approval. Hence, it is not possible to kill an ant prematurely. Every ant that dies occurs by His approval - i.e. at the right time according to Cosmic law.

Ananda Marga ideology states, "The Operative Principle, although it has the potentiality to do something or to do anything and everything, cannot do anything without His approval, because He is the hub and all waves emanate from Him. His approval is a must in this respect. That is, if He does not like, not even a blade of grass can move. Each and every intelligent man and each and every spiritual aspirant should remember this fact." (1)

Ananda Marga ideology states, "Whatever Parama Puruśa does, He does for the good of humanity. Not a single blade of grass can move without His desire." (2)

Ananda Marga ideology states, "From a mammoth to a blade of grass. So a mammoth cannot move without His grace, and a blade of grass also cannot move without His approval. And this shows that He maintains a link with each and every entity." (3)

This point alone is enough to solve the problem. Every action in this universe is calculated and witnessed by the Supreme. No one can act beyond His scope. All reside under His care. Thus no being, not even an ant, dies a premature death.

What follows then is further logic and reasoning to better understand Parama Purusa's guideline.

GRAVITY IS A UNIVERSAL CONSTANT

WITHOUT IT CREATION WOULD BE DESTROYED

2. The universal law of gravity is a constant. Gravity is always on. There is not a moment that passes by where gravity is not working. But, if such a time were to happen, if for a moment gravity would cease to function, the entire universe would become completely imbalanced. People would float up off of this planet into outer space and the entire planetary and solar systems would be in upheaval if all gravitational forces were removed from the universe.

The entire cosmos would be thrust into chaos because every other system is dependent upon gravity. There would be a huge domino effect. If gravity were to stop functioning, everything would be in a sheer state of disarray - everything would be destroyed in one second. But such an event never arises because gravity is a constant force. It is always in operation. Thus, nobody can defy the law of gravity; it is impossible. Hence, order is always maintained.

COSMIC LAW IS A UNIVERSAL CONSTANT

WITHOUT IT CREATION WOULD BE DESTROYED

3. Similarly, throughout this universe, the Divine will or Cosmic law is a constant force. It is never off. Everything is dependent upon it, just as everything on this earth is dependent upon the force of gravity. If for an instant, the Cosmic law would shut down, then the entire manifested universe would be finished. Because the existence and energy of each and every entity is wholly dependent on the Divine force, i.e. the will of Parama Purusa. If He does not give His approval then nothing can happen - nobody can do anything, nothing can exist. Thus everything is fully dependent upon the functioning of Cosmic law. And indeed Cosmic law is always operating - monitoring everything. By this way, the cosmological order is beautifully maintained such that not even a single ant dies prematurely.

PARAMA PURUSA WATCHES OVER EVERYTHING

NO ONE CAN DO ANYTHING WITHOUT HIS CONSENT

4. Here the central idea is that Parama Purusa watches over this entire universe always. His eyes are everywhere, in all directions, each and every moment. He ensures that nothing goes unnoticed and no one is uncared for. No one can do anything without His consent.

IMPOSSIBLE TO KILL AN ANT PREMATURELY

5. So when Parama Purusa states that if an ant dies prematurely then the universe will be imbalanced, He is not opening the door or possibility that an ant can be prematurely killed. Rather He is telling that He watches over everything - nothing happens without His approval, and no created being has the ability to overpower Cosmic law. It is impossible to prematurely kill an ant just as it is impossible to put the universe in a state of imbalance.

6. This then is the explanation for no ant ever dies a premature death and how the balance of the universe is never lost.

SUMMARY

WITHOUT HIS APPROVAL, NOTHING CAN HAPPEN

Again, if He does not give His approval then nothing can happen – nobody can do anything. Thus everything is fully dependent upon the functioning of Cosmic law. And indeed Cosmic law is always operating – monitoring everything. By this way, the cosmological order is beautifully maintained such that not even a single ant dies prematurely.

An ant can only die prematurely if Cosmic will becomes dysfunctional; but if Cosmic will becomes dysfunctional then the whole universe will collapse. Thus, an ant will never die prematurely because that would mean the destruction of the entire universe.

Namaskar,
in Him,
Trilocan

Note 1: IF THIS MATTER IS STILL UNCLEAR FOR YOU

THINK IN THIS WAY

Think in this way. You yourself have only come on this earth because of Cosmic will. Parama Purusa thought and you came into existence. You did not bring yourself here. And no matter how much you desire to stay here forever, you cannot. You are bound. Everything is under His control. That is also Cosmic will.

In this creation, everything big or small has the same existential value. To human beings, a particular entity like an ant may seem small and puny, but for Parama Purusa that ant is also His creation.

It is just like how onlookers may look towards a particular family and conclude that the infant is negligible or meaningless - as it does not do anything. But for the mother that is not the case - for her, the baby is very meaningful. Similarly, for Parama Purusa, each and every entity, even a tiny ant, has its special value.

The central idea is that everything happens according to Cosmic will. Just as your coming and going is controlled by the Supreme, similarly an ant comes and goes according to His will. Without His approval nothing happens - no one dies prematurely. If so, then the universe will be  destroyed; but still the universe is in tact because up till now not even an ant has not been killed prematurely. Accordingly, no other being will ever die prematurely either.

An ant can only die prematurely if Cosmic will becomes dysfunctional; but if Cosmic will becomes dysfunctional then the whole universe will collapse. Thus, an ant will never die prematurely because that would mean the destruction of the entire universe.

Note 2: THE GREAT EFFECT OF GRAVITY

IT IS FUNDAMENTAL TO THIS UNIVERSE

"From a cosmological perspective, gravitation causes dispersed matter to coalesce, and coalesced matter to remain intact, thus accounting for the existence of planets, stars, galaxies and most of the macroscopic objects in the universe. It is responsible for keeping the Earth and the other planets in their orbits around the Sun; for keeping the Moon in its orbit around the Earth; for the formation of tides; for natural convection, by which fluid flow occurs under the influence of a density gradient and gravity; for heating the interiors of forming stars and planets to very high temperatures; and for various other phenomena observed on Earth and throughout the universe." Unknown History

Parama Purusa Baba says, "In Puranic Hindu yuga in India when Buddhism and Shaeva religions got mixed, then one blended religion got formed and it got called as Nath dharma. It is most prevalent in entire eastern part of India. They named it the Nath religion because at the end of their Guru's name the 'Nath' title is there, i.e. Adinath Miin, Matsyendranath, Goraksanath, Rohininath, Chaorangiinath, etc." (AV-11, p.19)

Note: Even monks of the Nath religion and their followers do not know that the origin of Nath dharma was Buddhism and that those Buddhists accepted the Shiva cult. Means, after the eradication of Buddhism from India, followers of Lord Buddha accepted Shaeava religion. They continued some of those Buddhist dogmatic rituals. The result being that one type blending happened. Now followers of the Nath religions only know this much: That they are followers of Shiva. They are completely unaware about their past link with Buddhism. In eastern India there are hundreds of Nath temples. Even then, neither believers of the Hindu religious sect of Nath nor followers of Buddhism know this fact about their history.

Violent Incidents of Black Friday

VIOLENT INCIDENTS OF BLACK FRIDAY

Note: The below information is related with the posting, Don't Know Where to Die.

This year Black Friday (Nov 29, 2013) was tragically marred by several incidents:
(a) A police officer was injured trying to break up a fight between shoppers who were brawling in the parking lot. The fight was about who was ahead in line (California).

(b) In Chicago, police shot a man believed to be involved in a shoplifting incident after authorities found him driving a car that was dragging another officer.

(c) One man stabbed another with a knife during an argument over a parking space Thursday night at Walmart (West Virginia).

(d) A shopper was pepper-sprayed by the police and arrested Thursday evening (New Jersey). A heated dispute with a fellow shopper over a television led to an argument with a Walmart manager. After the manager called for help, the shopper attacked an officer.

Then there was the usual huge crowds, pushing, shoving, and all-night shopping etc.

In years past, one shoplifter was beaten to death, shoppers engaged in a heinous pepper-spraying incident & shootings, store employees were crushed to death by stampeding customers, and other violent acts - all done in the quest for discounted shopping.

To learn more about this an gain a graphic understanding, please read below...

Black Friday Violence Erupts Across Country
By Sean Piccoli and Post Wires
November 29, 2013 | 6:43am

Welcome to Brawl-Mart.

Mayhem erupted at big-box stores across the USA as frenzied shoppers vying for holiday deals turned on each other and resorted to violence to get their goods.

Reports of retail assaults, shootings and arrests piled up so fast that by Thursday night, Black Friday already had a trending Twitter hashtag: #WalmartFights.

Adding to the insanity, a Wal-Mart in White Plains was hit with a phony bomb threat on Friday afternoon. Two anonymous bomb-scare calls to the store on Main Street at about 12:30 p.m. prompted a full evacuation, and police used bomb-sniffing dogs to sweep the property, said White Plains Police Chief James Bradley. Shoppers and employees were allowed back inside at 2:10 p.m., said Bradley.

And it wasn’t just Wal-Mart going nuts. A cop at a Kohl’s store outside of Chicago shot a would-be shoplifter who fled in his car — and dragged another officer who was halfway into the vehicle across the parking lot, said police in Romeoville, Illinois. The Thursday night incident led to three arrests and a trip to the hospital for the shot driver and the dragged officer – both of whom, incredibly, sustained only minor injuries....

Respected Readers,

Namaskar. This email contains 3 distinct sections for your review and consideration.

PS Intro: This below song is deeply devotional and can only be understood by those who have been blessed with the gift of devotion. Without that this song cannot be understood.

"Ei hrdayer ma'la'kha'ni toma'r tare genthe ra'kha'..." (PS 1616)

Purport:

O' the Divine Entity, I love You so much. With all the tenderness and sweetness of my heart I have threaded this garland especially for You. By Your grace, I am offering [1] it at Your lotus feet, O' my Dearmost.

O" Parama Purusa, my only desire is to please You. So if You do not like this garland which I have prepared for You, then please do not accept it. And if You are not satisfied with this garland, then I request You not to look towards it. My sole desire is that You should be pleased. Baba, this mala (garland) is saturated with my heartfelt longing for You and is soaked with the showering of my tears of devotion. It is drenched with my love.

Baba, O' the Supreme One, I am meagre; I am just a small unit being. Yet I carry the great and distant hope of getting You. Because I am meagre and You are vast, my hope of getting You is nothing but an unrealistic plan and a far off dream. It is just a fantasy. Baba, if You do not want me, then why have You pulled me so close to You with Your loving bond.

Baba, please grace me by accepting my garland. Here I am offering it at Your lotus feet...

NOTE FOR PRABHAT SAMGIITA #1616:

[1] Arghya': Here are some of the specifics about the term arghya', or offering.

Baba says, "When any non-edible item is offered to gods and goddesses or great personalities then that is called arghya'. Those offered partially or completely full [non-edible] items which are returned back ]to the unit being] from those gods and goddesses or great personalities are called nirmalya. If any edible item is offered to gods or goddesses or great personalities then that is called naevedya. And that very naevedya when it is partially or fully returned from those gods and goddesses or great personalities then that is called prasad." (Laghu Nirukta, p.9)

Thus when devotees offer delicacies and sweets to Parama Purusa that is called naevadya and when those sweets are partially or fully returned back to devotees with His special blessing then that is called prasad. So when devotees bring sweets etc to our AM kiirtan programs and place them under the puja table then those sweets are not prasad, they are naevadya. Only when the kiirtan program is over do they become prasad according to Baba's above guideline. So at our Ananda Marga functions it should become our regular practice use the proper vocabulary.

Secondly, those things offered in Guru Puja are known as arghya. That is why Guru Puja is called: varn (mental colour) + arghya (arrangements being offered) + dan (act of offering), varnarghyadan.

Re: More About Kapalika

Namaskar.

Thanks a lot for providing necessary information through this article regarding my quest.

I also thank with deep respect to Nityanandaji who clarified and enhanced my knowledge in this subject matter.

Actually, I knew most of the facts depicted in this article along with this that

"Ka palayati yashya sa kapalika क पालयति यश्य  स  कापालिकः "

and regarding Avadhutas I learnt from Rev. Baba's discourse that

"श्मशाने व गृहे हिरण्ये व तृणे
तनुजे व रिपो स्वकीये व परे
समत्व् योगे विराजे अवधूतो
द्वितीयो महेशः।"

Hence I was under the impression that taking regular rigorous training in training center these respected persons are coming out becoming perfect as per definition above but by below given paras of the above article I could understand that their training is not complete but the degree is given in advance so that they try hard in order to maintain sanctity of it.

And also that every avadhuta is a kapalika but it is not necessary that every kapalika be an avadhuta. Now, I could also understand why  some of these honorable persons leave after serving a few years when confronted with the ashtapashas and sadaripus.

Thanks once again.

Respectfully,
Dr. T. R. Sukul

Religious Dogma: Huge Waste of Food While Others Starve

Baba

RELIGIOUS DOGMA:

HUGE WASTE OF FOOD WHILE OTHERS STARVE

Namaskar,
We all know that religious dogma is a major theme throughout Baba's divine teachings. Over the course of human history religious rituals, exploitation, and superstition have led to so much humiliation, misunderstanding, and suffering. And still in this ultra-modern era, large sections of humanity remain under the cloak of religious ignorance and dogma.

RECENT EVENT IN GUJURAT:

THE ENORMOUS POURING OF GHEE

Recently in Gujurat, in mid October, a yajina was held where 1.1 million pounds (or 5.5 lakhs kg) of ghee was poured over an idol whereby worshipers hoped to gain virtue etc. To gain a better grasp of the sheer amount of ghee used, it would take 50-55 large US tractor-trailer trucks to transport 1.1 million pounds. That is the amount that individual worshipers dumped on the idol - there was a constant flow of people making their offerings. The cost of all that ghee was 160 million rupees.

Here is more about the scene - plus you may read the attached newspaper articles for more details.

SPECIAL REPORT AND POEM BY SUKULJI:

THE DOGMATIC GHEE OFFERING IN GUJURAT

(Note: This entire topic was raised by Respected Sukulji who submitted the attached newspaper clipping and wrote this particular section of this email including the poem.)

Newspapers highlight with photos that people of Gujrat in India collected 5.5 lakhs Kg of Pure Desi Ghee and did so-called Abhishek of the idol of deity Durga during Shardeya Navratra. The title was "Ghee Ki Nadiyan Bahin". The photo of the scene was also displaying so many people going through the street full of Ghee touching up to knees.

The news belongs to Gandhi Nagar Gujrat (India) and is published in almost all the national level news papers of India on 15th October 2013.

I am attaching the scanned cuttings of the Dainik Bhaskar of this date which depicts the photo of the function and the Ghee flowing in streets.

You can also find this in Dainik Bhaskar e-paper of Jaipur (Raj) publication, of 15/10/2013.

Purport of Above Hindi Poem:

Actions of blind believers sometimes flow the rivers of ghee and sometimes pour it into fire, and construct temple destroying mosque. This results in death of lacs of people for want of nutrition and starvation everyday. This seems as if this blindness of believers is making loud laughter sitting on the throne of dead bodies of these dying people of starvation and nutrition.

Illusion of blind believers is doing 'Tandava' in forms of natural calamities, rumors and exploitation of women, yet people are running towards you mindlessly expecting that you would take care of them.

Here is more of the news...

[5.5 lac Kilogram pure ghee costing about sixteen crore rupees has been poured in streets due to blind believes and superstitions during 'Shardeya Navratra'. In a country where several lac  people fall prey to starvation and malnutrition everyday, to what extant this act is right?]

(Note: For more about this incident please see the attached news article or click on the link at the bottom of this email to see all new articles on this topicl. This concludes the section of the letter authored by Dr. T.R. Sukulji)

WHY THEY OFFER GHEE:

THE PSYCHOLOGY BEHIND THE DOGMA

Here Baba points out how dogmatic-minded worshipers think that their favoured deities have the same liking as they (the worshipers) do.

"Human nature is such that one thinks that what is dear to oneself must be dear to everybody. So the ghee-, meat- and wine-loving Aryans thought that such food items would be liked by the gods also." (AFPS-1, Tantra and Indo-Aryan Civilization)

Thus those offering ghee to the idol in Gujurat suffer from the same defective mentality as those degenerated Aryans of hundreds and thousands of years ago.

OFFER GHEE IN YAJINA IS A WASTE OF RESOURCES:

BETTER IS TO FEED THE HUNGRY, STARVING PEOPLE

Here below Baba points out that the dogmatic offering of ghee to an idol is a sheer and utter waste food and natural resources. The proper approach is to serve that ghee to the mal-nourished peoples of the earth so they can regain their health.

"Those who offer clarified butter in Yajiṋa are misguided. They think that by offering ghee in the fire, it will rain. Still today people are following such blind superstition. Science tells us that when ghee is offered in the fire, the ghee is burnt and the unburnt carbon particles evaporate in the form of smoke. Everyone knows that ghee is basically the chemical composition of hydrogen and carbon and that the water vapor generated by burning ghee is negligible. Therefore, what will be the magnitude of the cloud formed by burning even one thousand tons of ghee? It is an utter misuse of ghee. The proper use of ghee is to feed it to the weak so that they may have a good health." (Subhasita Samgraha - 1, Yajiṋa and Karmaphala)

Thus, those worshipers in Gujurat are terribly misguided and on the wrong path. That ghee should be used to serve those in need. Hundreds of millions of Indian citizens lack proper nutrition and suffer from moderate to severe food shortages while these dogmatic worshipers waste huge amounts of ghee by pouring it on this idol.

STRIVE TO ATTAIN PARAMA PURUSA

AND NOT FALL PRONE TO HARMFUL, RITUALISTIC DOGMAS

Here Baba points out that the ritualistic offering of ghee is a direct contravention of bhagavata dharma.  A dharmic yajina means the attainment of Parama Purusa, not the slip into ritualistic dogma.

"Shaeva Dharma is the dharma for attaining Parama Puruśa, and thus there is no external ritual in it. It does not enjoin any ritualistic offering of ghee, or any sacrifice of animals’ blood in yajiṋa; it is not a path of self-gratification. The followers of Shaeva Dharma proclaimed in a thundering voice that dharma is the path leading to supreme attainment – not the path of animal enjoyment." (NSS, Shiva – Both Severe and Tender (Discourse 2))

WHAT IS THE REAL INNER SPIRIT OF YAJINA:

THE DHARMIC MEANING

"The completion of a Yajiṋa lies in its offerings. Karma and Yajiṋa are the same and the accomplishment of the four varieties of Karma lies in offering one’s dearest thing, that is, in offering one’s own self. Ráma Yajiṋa signifies offering or surrendering unto Ráma. Viśnu Yajiṋa has a similar significance. The word Vishnu means all-pervasive. For this reason the accomplishment of Viśnu Yajiṋa lies in merging oneself into the Supreme Entity." (Subhasita Samgraha - 1, Yajiṋa and Karmaphala)

"Tapah: To undergo physical hardship to attain the objective is known as Tapah. Upavása (fasting), serving the guru (preceptor), serving father and mother, and the four types of yajiṋa, namely, pitr yajiṋa, nr yajiṋa, bhúta yajiṋa and adhyátma yajiṋa (service to ancestors, to humanity, to lower beings and to Consciousness), are the other limbs of tapah. For students, study is the main tapah." (Caryacarya, part 2)

BABA'S SPECIAL TEACHING FROM ANANDA VACANAMRTAM:

LORD BUDDHA FOUGHT AGAINST THE DOGMATIC POURING OF GHEE

Buddha aor Astaunga Ma’rga, MGD 16 October 1979 Nagpur)

(Here below is a rough translation of the above Hindi discourse.)

There are many whose conduct is not good, are of poor intellect, and harbour negative thoughts but even then have a strong desire to receive great prestige. Lord Buddha fought against such persons. They do not put any effort into to marching along the path of self-purification or sacrificing for the goal. They never try to truly develop themselves.  They just indulge in ritualistic yajinas of pouring ghee into the sacrificial fire. Is it reasonable to misuse and waste ghee by pouring it into the fire in a country where thousands of people are devoid of nutritious food?

Margiis: "No Baba! Never."

They burn ghee, rice, sugar and what not?... If you have a lot of ghee and rice, distribute it to the poor or you eat it yourself. (Some people are miserly) so, if you are a miser then eat it yourself.

Margiis: Laughter.

Yes, the fire is also burning in the stomach, Isn't it? Burn them in this fire.

Margiis: Laughter.

What you say, isn't it?

This, they will not do. The misers will also not do like this. But they will perform Yajina; How?...  Pouring all the rotten ghee of house in the fire of Yajina altar.

Margiis: Laughter...

Yes, this is hypocrisy. Lord Buddha opposed it. It requires much courage to oppose the social customs. He had that courage.

You analyse this tactfully, that if, you declare a particular river to be holy leaving other rivers in oblivion, would it be reasonable? All wastes and dirtiness of municipality are dumped into the Ganges. So can the water of the Ganges remain pure? What type of logic is this? But, you don't oppose this courageously because many people will go against you. You realise but you are unable to speak because you have no courage. Lord Buddha had that courage.

*Note: A Hindu ritual in which many nutritious commodities along with a lot of pure ghee is poured as a sacrificial offering into the burning fire known as Yajina.

-----

(Here below is Sukulji's rough translation of the same Hindi text.)

Lord Buddha fighted against those of loose conduct, thought , intellect,  greed of social prestige but no sacrifice for it; and also who misused pouring ghee* to fire but no effort to develop self. Is it reasonable to misuse pouring ghee into fire in the country where thousands of people are devoid of nutritious food?

Margiis-- "No Baba!" " Never".

They burn ghee, rice, sugar and what not?... If you have a lot of ghee and rice, distribute it to the poor or you eat them yourself. (Some people are miser) so, if you are miser you eat it your self.

By all of the above it is quite evident that the scene unfolding in Gujurat is a breech of dharmic code of conduct. Those worshipers involved in offering all that ghee are steeped in dogma. Step by step we should help bring them onto the path - and they should realise their gross misuse of resources.

Note 1: CALL FOR TOPICS

Please submit topics from your area or around the globe. Baba's teachings are the panacea for all problems, thus report injustices and dogmas that you hear about and we can apply Baba's divine teachings and offer a solution.

"A correct spiritual ideology is the only solution to the problems confronting the world. From this perspective we can call Ananda Marga ideology the philosophers’ stone. Just as the philosophers’ stone is meant to transform everything into gold, Ananda Marga ideology can, most definitely, find a just and rational solution whenever it is applied to any problem." PRABAHT SAMGIITA #4716

"A'kasher ta'ra' mor, ekata'ra' eki sure geye caleche..." (P.S. 4716)

The music of my heart and the stars of the sky are all singing in one tune and melody. O' Parama Purusa, You are and this world is also; it is revolving around You. Because You are the nucleus. You are the controller of everything. You are the Essence of this universe. Everything is dancing and revolving around You.

O' Divine Entity, in Your beautiful creation, everyone is wreathed together in one garland. Everyone's sweet heart is attracted to one and all. The illusion about mine and others is evaporating. Here in this world everyone has come to become one.

O' Parama Purusa Baba, You are everything, You are attracting one and all. Your whole creation is dancing and revolving around You. And everyone's heart and mind is wreathed together. Baba by this way You are playing liila...
