Harmful marriage + 4 more

Baba
Harmful marriage

Namaskar,

Our Ananda Marga system of forming marriages is unique; it is like no other around the globe. Neither do we follow the so-called love marriages of the west, nor do we adhere to the dogmatic tenets related with eastern marriages. Ours is an arranged system of marriage based on rationality that gives scope for both the bride and groom to have a definite voice, yet at the same time aims first and foremost for the welfare of the child. That is why we say that our unique system of creating marriages in Ananda Marga is part and parcel of society building.

But when animal propensities dominate the human intellect then that negative ripple effect is felt on all levels - nothing remains untouched. Matrimonial relations also get adversely affected. That is why wherever materialism has taken root in society, people commonly get married one day and divorced the next, i.e. the next day or the next year etc. The point is that divorce becomes rampant because marriage is only for sensual pleasure - not any higher value.
http://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Ananda Marga Caryacarya states, “The mantras in the Ananda Marga marriage system are such that the question of divorce does not arise; but in very extraordinary circumstances, on charges of characterlessness, irresponsibility, or cruelty, divorce may be accepted.” (1)

So-called love marriages in the west

Our revolutionary marriage (RM) system is vastly different from what is happening both in the west and in the east. In the western world, most marriages are just sensual love affairs that occur only after the couple has been 'dating' for a few years - and often both the male and female involved have already "dated" or "seen" innumerable other people previously. Here dating means spending lots of time together and being fully sexually involved, yet not having any commitment towards the other person, neither now nor in the future. Only they are sexual partners for the time being. Such is the lowly, animalistic way of western materialistic values.

This abhorrent system of 'dating' often leads them to heartache, disappointment, and sexually transmitted diseases; and the worst part is that babies get born into this world without a true mother and father. Because when the female becomes pregnant then the so-called father escapes from the scene. In that case, the child is looked upon as one unwanted creature - an ugly burden. In such a terrible state, the child feels alienated from the world and unloved by its "parents". That is why Ananda Marga way of life rejects today's loose and promiscuous way of western dating where people 'fall in love' and may or may not get married; and if they do get married it is often for all the wrong reasons. That is why a "love marriage” is not a revolutionary marriage.
http://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Tragically though, due to the mass media and the 'glory of' the west', dating is spreading all around the globe. But this is not appreciated in Ananda Marga philosophy and certainly all Ananda Margiis should refrain from such a manner. Such dating is not a way to create a marriage - just it leads to a debased way of living. Yet this is what typically happens in the west; actually dating is so rampant and so commonplace that no one thinks twice about it. But there is a heaven and hell difference between western dating and our RM system. Let’s just take a moment to review how marriages are traditionally formed in the east, or more specifically in India.

The dogmatic marriages of India

The traditional Indian marriage system is comparatively better than the pseudo-culture dating ways of the west. Why is it better? Because it more closely resembles our Ananda Marga model. Even then, the Indian system is not without its loopholes and drawbacks. Basically, as a quick review, the general Indian society follows an arranged marriage system, as do we in Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha. But in the dogmatic Hindu model, 99% of the time the future husband and wife do not have any say in the marriage, often resulting in one or another marrying against their will.

Secondly, the traditional Hindu system advocates the use of the dowry where the father of the bride must pay exorbitant sums of money to the husband's family. In addition, an extremely heavy emphasis is placed on only marrying within one's caste. Finally, in all cases of nuptial agreements, the whole proposition of marriage is seen as one occasion where the father of the bride is purchasing the boy.

Still however, neither east nor west can hold a candle to the sublime approach of Ananda Marga. And certainly it is only a matter of time before all will follow our sentient society building model of forming marriages. So we need things to be proper in the practical sphere, lest everyone think that ours is also just one faulty, manipulative way.

Conclusion

Baba has given the system in Ananda Marga for responsible parties such as the parents and family acaryas - not sannyasis - to be deeply involved in arranging suitable marriages. They help ensure that marriages are not just based on physical attraction, but rather on a whole range of social variables such as one's personality, profession, financial means, education, family background, and, of course, one's adherence to 16 Points. By this wide-ranging approach, we can best ensure that the marriage will provide a stable, sentient environment for raising children where both males and females have equal rights. And of course, no marriage can move ahead without the mutual consent of both the 'to-be' husband and wife. In a nutshell, this is our Ananda Marga system: proper guidance, no dowry, and thorough consideration of their physical, psychic, and spiritual well-being.

Dating is against AM ethics

Ananda Marga Caryacarya states, “When necessary, men and women can mix together, sit next to one another and participate in meetings and conferences, but they should not engage in gossip as its results are not beneficial. It should be remembered that a woman's friend is a woman and a man's friend is a man. The more distant the relationship between men and women, the greater should be the courtesy maintained in mutual conversation and behaviour between them. It is proper to address a woman not related to one's family as “Mother”. But where such an address sounds unpleasant to the ears, one should use respectful words such as “Sister”, “Daughter” and the like. Unrelated men and women should not touch one another as far as possible, except during illness or in special circumstances (during salutation, administering medical care, etc.).” (2)

Dating & illicit mixing are animalistic

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Social interaction: There are diverse views among those who formulate social codes concerning the free mixing of men and women. It does not require much logic to convince people that the final outcome of free mixing in an undisciplined society is unhealthy. It is also true, however, that the absence of social interaction creates a suppressed longing, a special attraction or an unhealthy curiosity, as does the denial of other desires. This may lead to illicit mixing, which eventually undermines social purity. A system that thwarts social interaction is nothing but an attempt to suppress the mind. Where there is illicit mixing, the only harm done to men is that they degenerate morally, but the damage to women is far greater, because they may be cast out of society in disgrace. Thus on the one hand, men and women will have to be free to mix together socially, while on the other hand, a well-thought-out code of self-control will have to guide their social interaction.” (3)

In the wake of Your divine effulgence

"Hrdaye eso prabhu, jar'ata'r tamasa' ka't'iye diye..." (Prabhat Samgiita #0933)

Purport:

Baba, please come in my heart and remove the darkness of staticity. By Your arrival, in the wake of Your divine effulgence, all my impurities will vanish in a flash. My Dearmost, please grace me and pulverize my ego. This ego is the main hurdle which does not allow me to come close to You. Baba please come in my heart and remove all the darkness and staticity and allow me to swim in the limitless ocean of Your love...

Proper digestion & microbiome

Namaskar,

Ananda Marga Yogic Treatments, “Digestive organs and livers in particular become very weak, and such children [and adults] normally turn out emaciated.” (1)

Here following is the reply on easily digestible sources of protein.

#1: These two are the top most as they are very digestible:
(a) spirulina: this is grown in South India, as well as in many other parts of the world.
(b) nutritional yeast (not brewer's yeast): this is available here in various health / organic food stores, as well as online.
For maximum absorption, best is to mix with water and drink alone. Do not mix with any other food and do not mix the spirulina with the yeast.

#2: The next tier down is flax seed:
Flax seed is excellent for easy digestion, brings energy, and is good for the brain and sadhana. Plus it is very cheap. Just grind and soak overnight and eat alone or with vegetable. It will bring a big energy boost. But do not eat more than 3 or 4 spoons of flax seed powder at one time. One other benefit is that this is also very good to carry, i.e. easy to have while touring.

#3a: Soaking beans and nuts for 48hrs (tossing the water multiple times during the soaking period and then boiling the end), makes them a lot  easier to digest.

#3b: Peanut milk, sesame milk, or soy milk can also be made. Just soak and blend, then strain it and give away the fiber for animals. You can drink a lot of protein in this way.

#4: Eating with proper food combinations. Take protein alone or with greens / leafy vegetables, but not with carbohydrates.

#5: Fermented foods (you can use special jars to ferment without rotting).

#6: Sprouted beans. Soak initially for 12 hours or more, and then rinse twice daily.

#7: Using spices like dill, ajwain, cumin, black cumin, anise, black pepper, and chicory root for bile.

#8a: Eat a minimal quantity in one sitting but eat frequently even many times per day. Sick persons can take food multiple times as needed. Eat little then when hungry eat more.

#8b: Always have food prepared ahead of time so the moment hunger comes one can eat without delay.

#8c: But do not eat if one is not hungry.

#9: By following this then digestion will not be an issue.

#10: In old age there is a shortage of digestive juice in the stomach. To overcome this, take apple cider vinegar which helps produce stomach digestive juices.
Regarding protein, staple foods (rice, roti etc) also contain small to moderate amounts of protein.

The above points will help anyone suffering from digestive issues; and these above guidelines are born out of the experience of various sadhakas.

In Him,
Vidya’

With regards to the number of times a patient may eat, here Baba talks about treatment of two different diseases. The basic idea is that when the system is weak then one should just eat small amounts of food at a time.

Ananda Marga Yogic Treatments says, "It is also desirable to take a small quantity of food a greater number of times, rather than to eat a large amount at one time." (2)

Ananda Marga Yogic Treatments says, "The patient should never eat much at a time. Instead, food should be eaten several times a day, eating only a small quantity each time." (3)

In the same spirit, you can eat as many times as needed a small quantity of food in order to maintain your health. Because that is the medical need. By taking a small amount many times during the day, the body will be able to digest and assimilate food in a more efficient and health-supportive manner.

It is just like how a weak person cannot carry 100 lbs at a time but can carry 10 lbs ten times. Or it is similar to how a car cannot be started in high gear, a lower gear is needed. That is why Baba guides us that those suffering from a digestive disorder or weak stomach should only eat a small amount of food at a time.

Example: non-margiis doing Baba’s work

The Home Minister of India announced in Parliament to scrap articles 370 & 35A for Kashmir.

Baba says about Kashmir issue, “The law and the constitution should be the same. The law and the constitution should be the same for the entire country, as each and every individual is equal before the law and before the constitution. According to the constitution, each and every part of the country will enjoy the same power. For example, special rights or facilities for Kashmir should not be allowed. Today a Kashmiri can go to Bengal and purchase land, a house, etc. but a Bengali in Kashmir cannot enjoy that facility. This kind of discrimination must end. (1)

Revolutionary marriage

Why capitalists are unworthy sons & daughters of the Cosmic Father

Prout philosophy states, “How was capitalism created? Capital is consumable commodities in their potentiality. Intelligent people collect more capital than others in the form of consumable goods, but since this capital cannot be stored for a long time, they began to keep it in the form of money. Such people are called capitalists. These capitalists are the unworthy sons and daughters of the Cosmic Father because they go against the principle of cosmic inheritance. They should be cured of their ailments. To fight capitalism is therefore within your goal. The seed of infinite expression lies within Dharma, but you must nourish it. Capitalists create hindrances on the path of human beings to prevent them from becoming one with the cosmos – to prevent them from becoming great. So capitalism is anti-Dharma and the actions of capitalists are also anti-Dharma.” (1)
