AM spiritual life & kiirtana story

Namaskar,

In the past, so-called gurus did not allow family people to practice sadhana. And, in the time of the vedas, so many dogmas were in vogue. Females were not even allowed to listen to the veda – otherwise, for punishment, their ears would get blocked with molten lead to make them permanently deaf.

As the divine Sadguru, Baba has blessed one and all and given various discourses declaring that females have equal rights in all the realms including spiritual. This is a revolutionary step. Sadly, in many dogmatic religions, still females do not have equal status. Throughout history there was terrible exploitation against both family persons and females – especially in the spiritual sphere. Ananda Marga is that special path where all have equal rights and equal status - where all are empowered to dance kiirtana and engage in spiritual practices.

Spiritual realm: no difference Wts & family margiis

On 31 December 1981, during general darshan Baba was in a very gracious mood and the whole atmosphere was charged with His exquisite vibration. He was showering all with bhakti and high spiritual bliss. Everybody was charmed by His magnificent presence, and accordingly Baba was especially merciful.

As some may recall, that general darshan was the historic event when Baba showered His grace equally upon all: females and males, family persons and monks. That day, He made it clear that in the spiritual realm there is no difference from one to the other. And this is exemplified by that general darshan at the end of 1981 when He introduced the practice of avarta kiirtana– to one and all.

Actually, just in the few months prior, this style of avarta kiirtana was first given to Wts as part of their practice for madhura sadhana. The morning General Darshan of 31 Dec of 1981 in Ananda Nagar stands as the first time in history of Ananda Marga that Baba blessed family margiis to participate in avarta kiirtana. Before that it was only for Wts.

So during that special general darshan Baba blessed family margiis to also participate in this special type of kiirtana known as avarta kiirtana. That was a first for us family margiis.

Best if everyone dances - females included

As many may surely remember, before 31 Dec of 1981 in Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha, females were not allowed to stand and dance during any Ananda Marga collective gathering. Females were just sitting and chanting kiirtana; only males were dancing.

However, when females were alone, in the absence of the males and in the privacy of their own campus, they were dancing kiirtana. But at collective gatherings, female bhaktas / sadhakas were not allowed to dance kiirtana.

Ananda Marga is the path of revolution. On that very day of December 31 1981, female margiis in India were blessed with the opportunity to dance kiirtana collectively on occasions such as at DMC or in the jagrti etc. Because at that same general darshan Baba told that it will be best if everyone dances kiirtana. And He announced that: “My daughters can also participate if they like.”

Conclusion

We should remember the importance of spirituality and bear in mind that a’varta kiirtana is good to practice in our day to day life to develop a more direct link with Parama Purusa - and have His grace. This is a very easy way to experience spiritual bliss.

Ananda Marga ideology states “Kiirtana will always remind you that you are the affectionate children of the Supreme. In kiirtana, there is no restriction regarding time, place or person, no distinction between educated and uneducated, between black and white. So do kiirtana, sing kiirtana, chant kiirtana whenever and wherever possible.” (1)

Kiirtana helps in all circumstances

Ananda Marga ideology says, “Whatever worldly difficulties might obstruct your path, the best positive or auxiliary force is kiirtana. kiirtana helps a devotee to accelerate the speed towards the hub of the universe. kiirtana will help you in all circumstances; if any mental trouble arises, kiirtana will help you.” (2)

Ananda Marga ideology says, "Kiirtana will help you in all circumstances, in all possible ways. If people do kiirtana with distinct expression of the mantra, their mouths become pure, their tongues become pure, their ears become pure, their whole bodies become pure – and when so many parts of the body become pure, the atma (self) also becomes pure. By kiirtana you become as pure as if you have taken a ‘holy dip in the Ganges’.” (3)

Plagiary?

It is the accepted international standard and Baba's system not to copy another's work and publish it in your own way. Baba has given a very strict rule on plagiarism. Why is Baba against plagiarism or stealing someone's work? There are many reasons:

1) It is against the code of asteya (non-stealing).

2) Countless stories of bhaktas need to be published. But some do not want to do the hard work of compiling and writing these stories, so they just steal them from others. But new stories need to be told, otherwise so many unpublished stories of sadhakas will be lost and forgotten forever. So watch out for story thieves, and kindly help them not to steal by posting on social media in their own way. If you want to forward this story then attach the following yellow section with the story:

This will be treated as the standard protocol.

Harmful effects of anger

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “When this anger creates its own vibrations in the mind, it exerts a tremendous influence on the nerve cells in a very short time, and causes disarray in the thinking process. The restlessness of the nerve cells causes a violent vibrational agitation in the nerve fibres, and as a result, the whole body starts trembling; the flow of blood to some parts of the body increases, and the functioning of the heart is disturbed. There is a tremendous deterioration of health. Such a person is easily defeated in any fight. Anger leads to premature death. This is not all. During anger the power of one’s thinking is impaired. Even long after the anger subsides, this state continues, and the constant brooding of the mind disturbs one’s spiritual sádhaná. So we see that the vrtti [propensity] of anger harms the body and stuns the mind and creates obstacles for spiritual progress. Shiva, the great yogi, was well aware of this truth, and thus He clearly stated, Krodha eva mahán shatruh [“Anger is a great enemy”].” (1)

Schools & language of instruction

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “What does mother tongue mean? That language in which we can freely, smoothly and spontaneously express our ideas in an unobstructed environment, just as we feel loving closeness with our own mother while in conversation, is our mother tongue.” (1)

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Students may feel inconvenience if the medium of instruction is English only or if the question papers are in English only.” (2)

Baba's teaching is that both one’s mother tongue and English (as the current international language) are important. But the general education curriculum should be presented in one's mother tongue. In addition, English should be taught as a subject unto itself. English should not be the medium of education in countries where the people's mother tongue is not English. On this point, Germany is an excellent example. In Germany, all education via the medium of the German language. So subjects like engineering will always be taught in German. Plus there is an English class for the purpose of making students fluent in English. In this way, engineers in Germany do their work in German and converse in German, and yet are also fluent in English and fully capable of communicating with others in English should the need arise. In India, as well as all other countries of the world, this is how it should be done. The mother tongue has unique value in enabling someone to formulate and express their thoughts comfortably and facilely; its importance and vital role in education should always be recognized, and, at the same time, there should be an English class so the students can learn English.

Two foreign terms ultra-famous in India

The words Hindu, India, and Indians are not terms from Bharatavarsa. See here Baba's below teaching:

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "Clearly, the word “Hindu” did not exist during that era. Hindu is a Farsi word whose fundamental meaning is “Indus River-basin” or the community of people living in the nearby areas. All of them, regardless of what religion they followed, were Hindus. In other words, the word hindu is a completely geographical word. Those whom we call “Hindu” today are indeed Hindus in the geographical sense. In terms of religion they are followers of the Árśa doctrine. However since nowadays the word “Hindu” is used instead of “Árśa” those who are called Hindu today are Hindus both in the geographical sense and in the religious sense. But those who belong to the various other so-called sects in India are Hindus in the geographical sense but not in the religious sense. They have their own religions." (1)

Note 1: The irony is that Indians think these terms (Hindu, India, and Indians) are their own.

Note 2: The country’s original name is Bharatavarsa. And we wanted to use the original term Bharatavarsa in the title but if we wrote that then nobody around the world would know what we were talking about. So we had no choice - we had to use the word India.

Is the In-Charge the cause?

Ananda Marga ideology states, "Without His wish, not even a leaf of a tree, nor even a blade of grass can move." (1)

Parama Purusa oversees everything and all have their role to play - no one can do anything without His approval. He oversees everything. Then how is it that things can go awry? How can "bad" things happen?

One way to understand this is via the analogy of the any government. Ultimately the president of the any country is responsible for every action of every government office spanning millions of employees. Some may then accuse and blame the president for the wrong and harmful decisions taken by various employees, such as the lowest level clerk taking a bribe in village. If one thinks more rationally, we can say that there is a system when the president oversees everyone, and he wants for all to follow the rules and regulations. But certainly it has to be recognised that every governmental employee is responsible for their own dealing. The president is not the cause or reason behind employees wrongful action.

Same is the case with Parama Purusa and His creation. He oversees everything, He watches everything, and He encourages all to follow on the path of righteousness. But on their own accord, created beings veer from the path.

Ideal reason to use Deva title

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Casteism is a burden on the Hindu society. All the year round they preach casteism but on the polling days they decry it. This is wholly undesirable. It is better to avoid all titles. Titles signify the caste. If casteism is to be wiped out, it is incumbent to discard the titles. It is commendable if everyone adopts uniformity on title – Deva. Persons using a particular word more often will influence their minds with the meaning of that word. People are reluctant to use the word dása because this word signifies slavery. Whenever the so-called low caste people catch an opportunity, they declare themselves as belonging to the so-called elevated caste, etc. It is an ideal to become deva and for this reason Deva title should be adopted.”
“Titles of the present society have undergone considerable changes during the past fifty years, the cause being that everyone aspires to pertain to an elevated caste. The so-called Shúdras also use the sacred thread. This is only an effort towards the concealment of one’s identity. By this means, they conceal only their disregarded status. This is to be regretted. It is consequent on social debility that they harbour the desire for changes in their situations. It is out and out purposeless to convene All-India Conferences or particular castes. All of them desire to assert and establish their rights. This is simply misuses of energy and money.” (1)

Re: Thief avadhuta - 2

Namaskar,
One margi found an egg-stained section of the newspaper on the road containing Baba's photo which was being used by a roadside vendor to sell his tamasik egg omelettes. Below message was circulated in whatsapp by Antarang yogi dada.
----

🙏🙏🙏This is one of Baba's article contributed by Divyacetanananda dada on the occasion of Baba's Punya tithi. He along with all the supporters of Maha Prayan Divas wants to prove that Baba i.e. Param Purusha is dead which is against Baba's philosophy.
Secondly despite repeated requests Divyacetanananda dada has not stopped getting Baba's photo published in Baba's article contributed by him. Now see carefully the 2nd photo with so many Baba's photos which was published in several issues rescued and preserved by one Baba's devotee Margii dada from one Egg seller when one day he saw Baba's one such article with Baba's photo thrown on road after Omellete eaten on it. Since then that Margii dada goes to that egg seller and collects the newspaper page having Baba's article bearing Baba's photo like he collected today and cuts Baba's photo to save it from somebody eating Omellete on it or some mother cleaning potty of her child with paper having Baba's photo.
That Margii dada has taken a vow that the day he will meet Divyacetanananda dada he will teach him a lesson to misuse Baba's photo.
So Divyacetanananda dada beware before that Margii dada meets you, remove Baba's photo in publishing His article or be ready to face the consequences.
Param Pita Baba ki  Jai.
🙏🙏🙏🌷💐🌺🙏🙏🙏
