Baba

Baba story: how I became sick

Namaskar,

Before ever knowing that I would be promoted and transferred from Bihar to Agartala by my military supervisors, Baba called me to Him.

He said, "I will be sending you to eastern India soon to do some pracara work."

Hearing Baba's words, I was puzzled as a transfer to that area could only be done via a promotion. And I was wondering how will I ever be promoted when my military supervisors do not appreciate my way of life. I was following all Ananda Marga practices, whereas my bosses lived in their own way. So how would they give me such a promotion. Those were the types of thoughts swirling in my head.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

In a few weeks, I was ordered by my BMP supervisors to appear in an examination. The examiner asked me all kinds of questions, many of which surprised me. But, not only did I pass the examination, I got the top score. I was then promoted and given the assignment in Agartala. This was nothing but Baba's special way of working. Now I would be able to do His pracara work in eastern India.

I became seriously ill

Once I reached Agartala, then by His grace, a lot of pracara work was going on. So many margiis and Wts were created. Baba was arranging everything - there was a huge flow of activity.

After some time, however, I became seriously ill and had to return to Bihar for treatment. I was thinking I must have done some mistake, otherwise what could be the reason for my sickness.

When I reached Jamalpur, I went to see Baba. Those who were around told me, "Now Baba is going to eastern India - why have you come to Jamalpur?"
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

All I could reply was, "Nothing is in my hand. Baba is the One controlling my movements. He sent me to Agartala, and now Baba has brought me here."

So I remained in Jamalpur for some time and tried to get better. In due course, Baba returned to Jamalpur and I got the opportunity to see Him.

Flashed in my mind

The first thing Baba told me was, "Why did you commit those wrongs?"

Immediately, I began wondering what wrong I had done.

Baba then said, "What about that incident."

I was mentally pondering my role and duties, trying to figure out where I erred. Still in my mind I was thinking that knowingly I did not do anything wrong. Suddenly, a scene flashed in my mind of one encounter when I ordered a shooting where some innocent people were injured.

I said, "Baba, knowingly I did not do anything beyond my call of duty. I was ordered to manage the border security. The government gave me my orders, and I had to follow them."
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Baba said, "Yes, the government gives you orders, but then it is your duty to use your viveka when carrying out that order."

Actually, on the border between India and Bangladesh, people in Bangladesh were chopping and stealing trees from India. Basically, they were smuggling wood. My duty was to watch and guard the border as well as protect my troops. I was very concerned that if my troops were attacked and harmed then I will be blamed.

Baba told, "When carrying out your duties, you were excessive in meting out punishment. You took strong punitive measures against even innocent people."

Then that whole fateful scene flashed in my mind, I immediately realised my mistake and understood how some innocent people were also harmed. Baba made everything perfectly clear.

Baba said, "You had to undergo the reaction for your wrongdoing. That is why you became sick, and that is why you are here now."

Now I understood why it all happened. In Agartala, I became sick, and my senior commander told me to go for treatment. I remained sick for 2 - 3 weeks. My problem would not go away. Finally, the doctor told me that this climate is not good for me and that I should go back to my home area. Thus I made the trip back to Bihar. So the reason why I became sick in the first place was due to my sinful actions.

Never harm innocent people

In the above story told by Mr. B there are many things to be learned.

1. As sadhakas we have to be careful when undergoing any suffering. That moment we should analyse the matter and do introspection and see if we made a mistake or not. Animals cannot do this type of self-analysis; and, ordinary humans do not do it. As sadhakas, we should do it. Because there is no effect without a cause. We should clearly understand the link between our past actions and our present condition.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

2. By the grace of Guru one may intuitively receive His guideline.

3. Degraded and egoistic people do not reflect on the reactions of their actions and therefore invite more self harm and more severe reactions. In the case of Mr. B also, if Sadguru Baba had not pointed out the problem, then Mr. B would not have had any idea of his wrongdoing and he may have suffered further.

4. Let's take an example of how those in power might abuse their position: Suppose a policeman is ordered to arrest Mr X. If a very bad and notorious police officer goes to Mr. X then he will abuse and beat him mercilessly. In contrast, a policeman of good conscience will do the job in the right way and arrest Mr X without using excessive force.

5. One should be very careful about their dealing and use their vivek (discrimination) when following orders. That will make things much better.

6. When any non-margii sinner does any injustice they may not face the consequences immediately. In which case they will continue in their wrongdoing. But, for sadhakas, it works in a different manner. Ananda Margiis face their reactions very quickly because in this life a practicing sadhaka will get mukti (liberation). So they have to get the lesson quickly and be deterred from continuing their sinful ways; otherwise, mukti will not be possible. So, for Ananda Margiis, the cycle of action and reaction has to be exhausted in a very short time period.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Conclusion

Here is Baba's teaching from Ananda Sutram about how people learn from their good and bad actions:

Hitaeśańápreśito’pavargah
[The requital of an action is guided by the (divine) longing for welfare.]

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "Purport: Even behind the requital of an act (the fruits that follow the completion of an act) lies the divine desire of benevolence. The punishment for an evil act teaches one to keep away from evil doings. The reward for a good and benevolent act teaches people that they will never get such a reward if ever they commit an evil act." (1)

Parama Purusa made this type of system (i.e. samskara theory, or action and reaction theory) to help sadhakas remain on the right path. It is His grace.

Namaskar,

About the story teller

Mr. B, i.e. Family Acarya Babanji of Bihar, had many personal experiences with Baba. Then in 1963, as a member of the Bihar Military Police (BMP) he was dispatched to Agartala, i.e, far eastern India, by his commanding officers. Babanji was assigned to do military patrols and border control work along the Indo-Bangladeshi border. It was an unusual and special appointment within the BMP. Above is Ac Babanji's first-hand account of how he became sick while in the course of duty, and what Baba told him.

Plagiary?

It is the accepted international standard and Baba's system not to copy another's work and publish it in your own way. Baba has given a very strict rule on plagiarism. Why is Baba against plagiarism or stealing someone's work? There are many reasons:

1) It is against the code of asteya (non-stealing).

2) Countless stories of bhaktas need to be published. But some do not want to do the hard work of compiling and writing these stories, so they just steal them from others. Mind & soul explanation

Ananda Marga ideology states, “Now you know, in the mind of each and every living being there is this feeling of “I exist”. There is one “I exist” in you. “I exist.” “I am.” “I exist.” Mm? This “I” is the subtlest mind. But don’t you know that there is the feeling of “I exist” in you? You know it, you know this fact, that there is the feeling of “I exist” in you. Don’t you know it? You know that there is a feeling of “I exist” in you. Then, “I know the fact that I exist. I know the fact that there is a feeling of ‘I exist’ in me.” Now here the “I” of “I exist”, the subject of the sentence “I exist”, is the subtlest mind. And the “I” of “I know” – “I know the fact that I exist” – the subject of the sentence “I know”, that “I” is the átman, is the spirit, is the soul. It is not mind. There is a feeling of “I exist” in me – “I exist”. That “I” is the subtlest mind. The feeling that “I exist” is in me, is known to me. That knowing “I” – “I know that I exist” – that knowing “I” (the “I” of “I know”) is the átman, the spirit, the soul.” (1)

Note: Everybody has a mind. And the feeling associated with the mind is, “I am”, “I exist”. That quality is indicative of mind. And everyone also knows that they exist and that they have a mind. The entity that knows that they have a mind is the soul. The conclusion is that “I am, I exist” is the feeling of the mind, and the feeling, “I know I exist” is the feeling of the atma or soul.

Quiz on AM Teachings

Do you know who Baba is talking about in the below passage?

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “In places where, for whatever reason, intellectual clashes among the vipras were not very intense, their philosophy was very simple. They would say to the people directly, "I am the angel or incarnation of God. The things I have said are not the words of a human being but the words of God," or "I have received the divine revelation that you will eat this and not that, worship in this way and not that, and offer this to God. If you obey my commandments God will bless you and you will go to heaven; otherwise you will be burnt to death in the fire of hell." The people were fooled this easily.”

“The vipras used to tempt people with an imaginary heaven and inject in them the fear of an imaginary hell. In this way they would accomplish their objectives; their exploitation would proceed smoothly; and moreover the fear they aroused in people's minds would turn those people into fanatics.”

“It is noticeable that in the fanatical religious communities that we see in the world today, there is very little intellectual clash among the vipras. However, whenever fanatical religious communities made systems of social rules and regulations – in other words, whenever they made some effort to build a social structure – their social systems would be stronger than those of societies which followed a subtle philosophical theory or those of kśatriya societies.”  (1)

Answer:

In His above teaching, Sadguru Baba is talking about the semitic religions: Christianity, Judaism, and Islam.

Inevitability of surrender

Ananda Marga ideology guides us, "Suppose you meet a great karmi and ask him if he is successful in everything he undertakes. He will certainly say, “No.” If you ask him if he ever gets tired of working, he will say that he definitely gets tired on different occasions. And when he gets tired does he not ask Parama Puruśa to give him more strength? No matter how great a karmii one might be, one will have to eventually take shelter in Parama Puruśa, one will have to eventually surrender to Him." (1)

Note: In the life of a sadhaka on the spiritual journey, the first and foremost ingredient is surrender. In so many ways it is used. In the above quote, surrender is explained in a very simple way.

Rarity of human life

“After millions of animal lives, a created being attains the human form. That is why all the sacred books speak of the rarity of human life. The wise properly utilize all objects and this utilization alone makes the existence of the object worthy. You have achieved the human frame. You must make it meaningful by your sádhaná, service and sacrifice. Engage yourself in such useful pursuits that even your worst enemies have hardly any chance to despise you. Utilize yourself in such a manner so as to satisfy yourself mentally, that you never wasted your time uselessly on this earth.” (Ananda Vanii #33)

Note 1: True Ananda Vaniis have a number whereas Fake Ananda Vaniis do not - just as a fake car license plate has no number. By this way, you can easily recognise a Fake Ananda Vanii.

Blissful days of 1970 + 4 more

Baba

Blissful days of 1970

Namaskar,

Those days, in 1970 at the Piskamor Central Office of Ananda Marga, bhaktas used to do special kiirtan. Kiirtan itself had just recently been introduced, and this is the story of those blessed occasions.

Baba's cot was placed in the lawn of the Central office, especially in the evening hours. This cot was in the middle of a small, grass circle that had a radius of only 3 feet. The outer band of that grass circle was a section of flowers, 1 ft in width....
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Swing of kiirtan bliss

...And then Wts and margiis were dancing around Him singing kiirtan. The cot itself was placed directly on the ground; there wasn't any dais. And we were also dancing directly on the ground. So we were all on the same level, and Baba was sitting in the nucleus - on that cot - just three feet away from the periphery. He was so very close. He was looking so divine and we were moving closely around Him chanting kiirtana.

All the bhaktas were ecstatically dancing around Baba while He was graciously sitting in lalita mudra. Baba's cot was in the nucleus and we were all making a circle around the Him, singing Baba Nam Kevalam.

The whole scene was blissful and charged with an intimate feeling. It was completely His grace. There was an unparalleled spiritual vibration that Baba created where all were floating in bliss. Those present had very rare and unique spiritual experiences. With that vibration, everything in the surrounding atmosphere was blissful. That was because of His divine grace.

So those were really special days. Even now when I think about that exquisite scene then I feel goosebumps all over my body and a strong pull of bhakti in my heart. The memories bring on one spiritual surge.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Inside kiirtana circle sitting in lalita mudra

The whole flow of that kiirtan was so charming. Baba was in lalita mudra - sitting with one leg crossed over the other with His one knee just a little bit raised above the other leg. So that one knee was about 2 feet above the cot and Baba had both His hands on His knee. All the time looking so very lovely.

Many may also remember how in DMC Baba used to also sit in that mudra. And when sitting in that pose during those kiirtan sessions, then always Baba had a very calm and divine look on His face. Just He was sitting there quietly, closing His eyes. Indeed He looked so divine in that pose and during those kiirtan sessions the whole environment was saturated with His divine love.

Now when I think about that charm, then I can feel as if some heaven descended on the Earth. Thinking about this gives a surge of vibration even now.

Reporting with Baba

Side by side, many charming Ananda Marga reporting sessions were also going on at His Piskamor office those days. And while on the outside in a superficial way it was looking like Baba was engaged in feigned anger, but all along everyone present felt His divine sweetness. We felt that everything was going on was just His grace.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Because those days Baba was giving huge pressure for work. And the air was electrified with His divine grace. Because even though His loving scolding was going on, internally everyone was feeling blissful and that their burdens of samskaras had been removed. Full feeling of freshness was there. So it was just His grace.

But on the outside it was looking very strict and serious. Because Baba was giving huge work targets - like doing pracar in several thousand villages in just one week's time. Yet side by side pressure was given to satisfy those demands. And when Baba was taking report and seeing that all the work was not completed then all sorts of liilas were done.

That time Baba was playing His liila with us. And Baba would order us to go on doing 10,000 times - tik-tik. This was all His loving drama. And all the bhaktas were enjoying and fulfilling their quota by doing one tik-tik & counting out 50 or 100. And by this way, their number would reach to 1000, 2000, and some 3000 etc. Baba being the Parama Purusa knew exactly what was going on in others mind.

Blissful spiritual flow

Because at the time while all this was going on, then each then every sadhaka could feel divine love radiating in their heart - even though on the outside He was feigning a tough demeanor, but inside it was ever-blissful.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

And later on, by His grace, we realised that by giving us huge pressure of work, Baba was actually goading our minds unto the path of beatitude. Because this world is full of allurements, and it is so easy for the mind to go astray. But when everyone had huge work demands on their head, then there was no scope to get caught up in the negative ways of maya. Rather by paying heed to Baba's pressure for work and concentrating in that way, then the mind remained in a completely positive stance. Always thinking and planning to do more and more selfless service for humanity. Those work demands were not easy to complete, yet that was Baba's special way of watching for our welfare. Because that pressure forced us to keep our minds focused in His direction. So it is His blessing.

So all along, those days in the Piskamor office all were ensconced in His blissful flow. Everyone felt cared for and loved. His grace was tangibly felt by one and all - such that their whole body was feeling light and energized. Or bhaktas were feeling His grace by singing kiirtan. So in all the ways being in Baba's presence meant being ensconced in the blissful showering of His causeless grace.

All come here for a short span

Here are some Sadgurus guidelines that are highly related with the special, unique ways of Baba, the Sadguru.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "Only to love is not the work of the Guru. One who only loves you is your enemy, and one who only punishes you is also your enemy. But the one who both loves and punishes in a balanced way is the real Guru." (1)

Ananda Marga Caryacarya states, “The quantum of punishment must not exceed the quantum of love.” (2)

Ananda Marga ideology says, "Nigraha'nugrahe shakto guruityabhidhiiyate-- 'the guru must possess the capacity both to punish and to love, or bless, his disciples'. Punishment alone without love is not good. Love and punishment should go together, and the degree of punishment should never exceed the degree of love. Then only can one be called a real spiritual guru." (3)

Ananda Marga ideology guides us, ”So you should always remember that you have come here for a very short span. It is just like a waiting room of a railway station. You remain there for a short period and when the train comes, you leave the waiting room. This world is just like that waiting room. You are to remain here for a very short span. You should always remember this fact – “I have come here for a short span and I won’t remain here for a very long period. My home is elsewhere. I am just like a tourist.” You should always remember this fact. And as a universal tourist, you, while leaving for your permanent home, will not require a passport.” (4)

Namaskar,
at His lotus feet,
Prabhakar

~ In-depth study ~

Parama Purusa is eternally linked with one and all.

Ananda Marga ideology guides us, "Now, the entity by whose grace one comes into contact with sat (sat, the non-changeable entity, the non-changeable stance, the non-changeable nuclear entity around which so many electrons move) - that entity, or rather, that framework through which Parama Purus'a is working or Ta'raka Brahma is functioning, is the Sadguru, `Sadgurum' tvam' nama'mi' - `I do my namah before You, at Your altar'." (5)

Baba's office in Piskamor Ranchi was in one rented house approximately half a kilometer from the old jagrti.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

And as most know, tik tik is a code word & the full meaning is to catch both your ear lobes (lower part) with your opposite hand and sit down and stand up and sit down and stand up.

Marching & singing

"Bandhu a'ma'r eso go pra'n'e..." (Prabhat Samgiita #0275)

Purport:

O' my dearmost Baba, please come into my heart. The whole universe is ensconced in Your divine flow. Now the sky is full of beautiful poems; and, the moon cannot control its smile. Indeed, the moon's smile brings blissful dreams. Baba, this entire universe is radiating with Your divine love.

Baba, how unique and exquisite Your love is. It awakens ever-new rhythms in my heart. O’ my dearmost Baba, when You have already been caught then why do You continue to hide. Why are You playing this liila with me. Baba, please look towards me in Your sweet and loving way.

Baba, by Your grace I will always move ahead on Your path. I will entertain Your mind in all kinds of ways. Baba, due to Your blissful presence, my mind is divinely intoxicated, and it has lost all its fear-- those fears are entirely gone, vanished. Only Your sweet love remains. Baba, with full surrender I will go on marching ahead singing Your love songs.

Baba, I love You; please come into my heart in a still more intimate and charming way...

New name given to cajole others to follow old dogma

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Should one dogma be replaced by another dogma of the same order or of another order? Should a dogma of a positive order be replaced by a dogma of a positive order or by a dogma of a negative order? A dogma is an illogical, irrational sentiment. All dogma must be replaced by non-dogma.” (1)

Some dogmatic people don’t want to be treated as dogmatic so they resort to hypocrisy. Here is what they do: They follow their same old dogma but give it a new name. Such persons are cowards. They know what they are doing is dogma, so they change the name of that particular dogma.

One classic example of this is how they changed the name of mahaprayan (MPD). When MPD lost its charm and was placed on its deathbed, they came up with a new name for their dogma: Kiirtana programme. That is the new name they gave to MPD dogma.

So this is they are doing: Changing mahaprayan divas to “Kiirtana programme”. Ultimately, they are treating it as MPD but they are cajoling others to come for kiirtana.

Pollution, not something mystical

Ananda Marga ideology guides us, "If peoples blind attachment to sacrificial rituals and love for outmoded customs are intense, they will not disappear when confronted with logical arguments or shaken by the first jolt caused by psychic clash. But if one can create a suitable environment of constant psychic clash their blind attachments are bound to disappear. Some people believe that the fragrance of the sacrificial smoke purifies the air and kills germs. This is not true. On the contrary, the increase in the amount of carbon particles makes the air more impure. A highly pungent smell is much more effective in destroying germs. Thus, due to the impact of constant psychic clash, people eventually understand the defects of old systems and ideas." (1)

Some have taken to the practice of lighting incense when doing meditation or in other gatherings etc. They do so under the dogmatic belief that it will make the air cleaner and the room more sentient. But nothing could be further from the truth. In His above teaching Baba clearly guides us that the burning of incense increases the level of carbon dioxide and pollutes the air. So there is not an iota of truth to the notion that incense cleans the air. That is just a dogma of religious ritualism. Everyone should be aware about this.

15,000 years: Oldest book

Baba says, "Although the Rgveda is mainly concerned with hymns, it also contains various tales and anecdotes. While not all of these stories and tales carry equal spiritual value, they are representative of the cultural heritage of those ancient humans. They paint a portrait of the gradual advancement of human thinking and the structure of society. When considered from this point of view, the language, literature and expression of the Rgveda is of special value to the world." (1)

Ananda Marga ideology states, “We can roughly say that civilization first started sprouting after the prehistoric age of the human race, that is, from the days of the first composition of the Rk Veda, about  15,000 years ago. A major change took place during the days of Lord Shiva towards the end of the Rk Vedian period (which lasted 10,000 years). (2)

Mahaprayan of Tejkaran ji of Kota

    Baba

Mahaprayan of Tejkaran ji of Kota

    Namaskar,

It is with much sadness that we share the news of the mahaprayan of our very senior, dear elder brother Shrii Tejkaran of Kota. Tejkaran ji was a very early Ananda Margii from the Jamalpur days who lived to be more than 100 years of age.

Back in that time when Sadguru Baba was giving demonstrations in the 1950s & 60s in Jamalpur, Tejkaran ji was blessed to receive samadhi - either savikalpa or nirvikalpa samadhi. Over the years, many recall witnessing that demonstration.

May we all take solace in the fact that Shrii Tejkaran was a bhakta of Sadguru Baba. Certainly he will attain mukti or moksa, accordingly. Baba will lovingly bestow His infinite grace.

    in Him,
    Harideva

Note: Here is an alert for those cremating a dead body in India or Indian managed cremation homes around the world. Their custom is to put the fire in the mouth of the deceased to initiate the burning of the body. This is prohibited in AM as it is uncivilised. So watch out; do not allow this. If you are not careful, they will end up cremating the body in this manner. Make them aware ahead of time.

Ananda Marga Caryacarya states, "The practice of putting fire into the mouth of the dead body is repulsive, it should not be encouraged." (Caryacarya - 1, Disposal of the Dead Body)

    ~ In-depth study ~

We have seen that when somebody dies then in offering their condolences people say now Mr So-and-so is sitting on Baba's lap. On other occasions when telling a Baba story people also say, "Such and such person sat on Baba's lap." But these days the trend is that "sitting on Baba's lap" is used more in connection with death. And that causes some confusion in the minds of readers. To unknot the situation please read below.

Dogma: if "on Baba's lap" only used for death

Here are quoted lines from recently posted emails on various forums, wherein the writer uses the phrase - "in Baba's lap" - with the occasion of death:

    - "May Parama Purusa Baba accept her in HIS divine lap"

    - "We pray to Baba - please give him shelter in his lap... "

    - "May his soul rest in the lap of our beloved BABA"

    - "Now she is taking rest in Baba's Lap."

    - "May Baba accept him in HIS divine lap....."

    - "May he rest in HIS loving lap of eternity."

    - "We are sure that Baba has taken him in His loving lap."

    - "May his soul rest in Baba's lap forever."

    - "Let her rest peacefully in Baba's Lap - which she always desired."

    - "now he is in beloved Baba's lap"

    - "May his soul get peaceful place in His lap"

    - "He is now in Bábá's loving lap"

    - "May Baba bless him with a seat in His lap."

    - "May BABA accept him in HIS divine lap!"

    - "May Baba take him in his eternal loving lap."

    - "May his soul rest in peace taking shelter in Baba's lap."

    - "Please keep him on Your lap forever."

    - "We all collectively pray to Baba to take him on Baba's divine lap forever.”

All of the above lines are commonly written in eulogizing the deceased. These days mostly it is used in a eulogy and rarely used to recount one's intimate spiritual experiences - unfortunately. By this way, the phrase "in Baba's lap" is being misused, and step by step the real meaning is being forgotten as now people more commonly use the phrase to eulogize those who have died, and much less so to express their inner feelings of bhakti. Unfortunately, the meaning and inner spirit of the phrase is getting lost.

Baba story: "sitting on Baba's lap"

Some time ago after dharmacakra, a senior margii was recounting his experiences of having dharma samiiksa with Baba. He said, "After being lovingly scolded by Baba for my wrongdoings, then He called me close and placed me on His lap - I remained there for some time soaking up His love - and He blessed me."

We all enjoyed hearing about his personal account with Baba during dharma samiiksa. When he finished telling his factual and historical event, there was a call for questions. Various people posed their queries. Towards the end, one new margii raised his hand and asked, "How did Baba bring you back to life?"

Everyone stared at the new margii in amazement. There was a look of astonishment all around - people were really shocked to hear him say this. The new sadhaka sensed that something was wrong, and he said very matter-of-factly, "I thought that sitting on Baba's Lap means that he (the margii) died - that is why I asked that question."

This was quite eye-opening for those of us in the room: Through our language and expression we had unknowingly taught someone to think that being on Baba's lap is the equivalent of death. Because it seems that nowadays people only use the phrase "Baba's lap" when a person has died, such as "Let him rest peacefully in Baba's lap", as if in order to sit on Baba’s lap one has to die. But that is false. Sincere sadhakas regularly sit on Baba’s lap in their meditation. It is His grace. It is just like how a child need not die in order to sit on his father’s lap.

The idea is that this phrase - Baba's lap - has been linked with death due to extreme overuse. So for some time if sadhakas use this phrase exclusively for spiritual purposes, that will be best. The phrase, "sitting on Baba's lap", should not meet a similar fate. It should not lose its pure spiritual quality and just refer to one's death. That will be very negative.

Baba would bless bhaktas and place them on His lap

There are tens of thousands of recorded stories by sadhakas where they use the phrase, "on Baba's lap", when describing their experiences of being with Baba: He used to bless them and bring them on His lap. People should understand the deeply mystical value of this expression, and not just think that Baba's lap means death, i.e. that you can only sit on His lap at the time of death. Still today there are thousands of margiis walking this earth who sat in Baba's lap. And not only that, there are countless more sadhakas who were blessed by Baba in dreams and sadhana wherein they sat in His lap. And still today this deeply intimate experience is attainable by sadhakas, by His grace.

There are so many ways an aspirant can reach unto Baba's lap including in sadhana. That is the main idea that should be preserved. Sadhana is a spiritual practice and one can sit on Baba's lap in sadhana. We should make it cent-per-cent clear to one and all that the phrase, "sitting on Baba's lap", does not mean death.

"Mahaprayan" means death of mortals - confirm for yourself
    from the Samsad Bengali-English Dictionary

Mahaprayan (Death): Many are aware that mahaprayan (death) is the common term used in India and especially in our Bengal to describe the death of any human being, even ordinary people. In that way, the obituary columns of the newspapers of Bengal regularly cite the mahaprayan (death) of various persons of society who died or passed away.

Some may get confused and wrongly think that the word 'mahaprayan' (death) is one extraordinarily grand term of bhakti to be used in association with Parama Purusa. But that is not at all the case. Rather to do so is only to undermine the eternal presence of Parama Purusa. That is why no bhaktas ever use the word 'mahaprayan' in reference to Lord Shiva or Lord Krsna. Because Lord Shiva and Lord Krsna exist eternally. Then there is no question of Their mahaprayan (death).

Baba is Parama Purusa so He is eternal and there is no question of His mahaprayan.

Here it should be known that the convention of an annual death day ceremony (i.e. shraddhainjali or mahaprayan) is a foundation of the Islamic tradition. Muslims are well known for this, and their approach of an annual death day ceremony was adopted by the leader of a particular group in AMPS. So no one should think that mahaprayan is some type of sacred event. It is done on the death day anniversary of Muslims.

And for those who need still more technical proof then all this can be clarified quite readily by referencing the dictionary. Specifically in the Samsad Bengali-English dictionary 3rd edition on page 848. By checking there, it will be confirmed that the word 'mahaprayan' means death. Which is why it is used to refer to the passing away of even common citizens. And that is the case in this letter also. The term mahaprayan means death, and this is the ideal term for this purpose.

Mahaprayan is only for humans not for Sadguru

Here it should be qualified that there is both a real mahaprayan and fake mahaprayan. Real mahaprayan marks the death of any ordinary human being, just like the aforesaid news. This is the proper use of the term: To note a person's departure from this earth. That is the meaning of the mahaprayan term and that is the standard way the term is used in Indian languages.

Then there is the fake, or so-called, or dogmatic mahaprayan. That is when certain vested interests try to apply the mahaprayan term to Parama Purusa. This is grossly inappropriate because when Parama Purusa Sadguru Baba is that Divine Entity who is beginningless and endless and resides always in our heart, then it is entirely wrong to proclaim that He is gone.

That is why rational margiis are protesting; because the Oct 21st program is so-called mahaprayan. So-called means that something is fake. Parama Purusa is eternal, thus for some vested interests to declare "mahaprayan of Parama Purusa" is nothing but so-called mahaprayan.

Mahaprayan only really happens in the case of human beings, not Parama Purusa. Those doing mahaprayan for Sadguru are hypocrites. On the one side in meditation they ask His grace thinking that He is ever-present, and on the other side they think that Baba has passed away. That is their hypocrisy.
