Prout is God-centered + 3 more

Baba
Prout is God-centered

Namaskar,

As Ananda Margiis, we are all teachers and guides for others seeking to come on the path as well as for those wishing to know more. So we should best know how to handle this role. Here Baba outlines one of the key tenets.

AM conduct rule states: “One should not give any false answer and should consult with one’s seniors for the correct answer.” (1)

Some people are confused about Prout being God-centered or matter-centered. In this posting, this issue has been discussed in the light of Prout teachings.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

All religions are matter + dogma centered

Religions: one day for god -- the other six are my days

In every religion, there are specific holy days. For example, in Christianity, Sunday is considered as god’s day. Other days, on the other hand, are one’s own. In Hinduism, those who worship the monkey god Hanuman consider Tuesday as holy. Those who worship Shani in Hinduism consider Saturday as the holy day. Muslims consider Friday as their holy day. At different times of the year also there are holy periods like Rama Navami in Hinduism and Ramadan in Islam. So, in the various religions, there are some days that are dedicated to god while other days are for oneself. But the goal is matter-- to get material things from god. They don’t want god. The various religions adopt a matter and dogma centered philosophy.

Ananda Marga’s God-centered approach

In Ananda Marga, the meaning of being God-centered is to make Parama Purusa the goal of one’s life. Even all the mundane acts like eating, sleeping, exercising, or going to the office are for Parama Purusa. From birth to death, from waking up to sleeping, every breath is for Parama’tma’. In Ananda Marga, every second, every minute, every hour, and every day of life is imbued by God. The Ananda Marga system is completely different from the religions in this way. In Ananda Marga, it is said “Tasmáddharmah sadákáryah”, i.e. dharma should be followed always.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

An Ananda Margii, every single day of life, wakes up with Guru saka’sh followed by paincajanya, kiirtana, and after morning duties one practices their lessons of sa’dhana’ and a’sanas. Every day, one breathes twenty to twenty-five thousand times, and an Ananda Margii practices half iishvara pranidha’n in which one’s Ista mantra is chanted with every breath taken when one is not practicing full sa’dhana’. Even during every interaction, an Ananda Margii takes Cosmic ideation and considers others as a manifestation of Brahma. Even while taking meals, an Ananda Margii considers food as Brahma, the act of eating as Brahma, and oneself as Brahma. This is a God-centered life where every breath and every moment is lived for Brahma-- be it as mundane as chopping vegetables or be it spiritual sa’dhana’.

Common confusion

At present, many on this earth are confused and think that in order to adjust with worldly life (food shopping, cleaning, cooking etc) then one has to follow a matter-centered approach - at least during the time of one’s mundane dealings. But this is completely wrong.

Let us remember that in a matter-centered approach, the material is considered everything. Capitalism is an example. For matter-centered people, sensory pleasure is given the utmost importance in life. Matter-centered people spend their lives and energies only in pursuits like earning wealth, fame, land, and so on. For them, accumulating materialistic possessions and making the most of sensory pleasures are the benchmarks of success in life. There is no importance of God, as material acquisition / indulgence is the only truth in the matter-centered approach.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Perils of matter-centered approach

There cannot be two goals and if one makes matter the center of one’s life then it is natural that the mind will become crudified. As one thinks so one becomes. So, if one takes a matter-centered approach and ideates on matter then the mind degenerates and becomes like crude matter. It is a terrible misfortune that something as developed as a human mind gets degraded into static matter. People follow matter-centered philosophy due to lack of proper knowledge. There is no reason in a matter-centered philosophy for not betraying others, even one’s own family members, for material benefits and sensory pleasures-- all of which leads people to become selfish.

Today, the rise in selfish people is the outcome of the matter-centered philosophy. Sadly, they live an individualistic life devoid of family values. They view their relationship with the opposite gender for sensory pleasure alone, often resulting in children outside of marriage without any stable home or family. Such matter-centered people are essentially unhappy due to the innate loneliness of their lives resulting from selfish individualism. In many extreme cases, such people either commit suicide or turn into maniacs going ona shooting rampage. Some consume narcotic drugs or alcohol for sensory pleasures, slowly degenerating the vitality of their once human existence. Such a dangerous matter-centered philosophy has been around for about 150 - 200 years. This dangerous and massive experiment of materialism has only led to pervasive disastrous consequences in human society.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Advent of Mahasambhuti

Due to the lack of spiritual teachings, the whole of humanity has been pushed by materialism towards destruction. This is why the advent of Mahasambhuti Baba occurred: to imbue humanity with spiritual teachings. Today, the influence of materialism is still present, but because of the sublime teachings of Mahasambhuti, we also see the dawn of spirituality.

Same act but different approach

Some acts can be performed by both a matter-centered and a God-centered person. For example, both will eat food, earn livelihood, build a house etc. This may cause some people to get confused in thinking that the God-centered persons are also involved in materialistic pursuits. However, this is not true. The difference lies in their outlook.

A matter-centered person builds a house for prestige while a God-centered person will do so only for satisfying the need for a protective place for living. A matter-centered person earns wealth considering it as the goal of life. This is the reason we find some people building huge mansions for only two or three people.

The goal of a God-centered life is Parama Purusa. So human life is for sa’dhana’ and for that the body needs to be maintained. And one needs some type of income to meet the basic needs. Money and material wealth have no greater utility than that.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Hence, there is a significant difference between the approaches of a matter-centered and a God-centered life. Those followers look upon the world in completely different ways.

Analogy of going to work

Consider an example in which a person needs to commute to the workplace for their livelihood. On the way to the workplace, there may be many obstacles such as incessant rain or stray dogs barking around. The person, therefore, has to arrange an umbrella for the rain and a stick to scare the dogs away. In this example, the goal is to reach the workplace safely. It would be useless to spend too much time on selecting the most colorful umbrella or the most fashionable stick. An umbrella that protects them from the rain is enough. Once the umbrella is arranged one should not waste any further time and head to the workplace.  Let us suppose, as a crude analogy, that reaching the workplace is comparable to reaching God. All the mundane needs like building a house and earning a livelihood are like that umbrella and stick. One should not forget the true goal of life in the details of the mundane.

The main teaching is having a subjective approach with objective adjustment. For sadhakas, the goal is Parama Purusa. Any other mundane thing should be used as a tool to achieve that spiritual goal. If one’s stomach is aching then practicing sa’dhana’ is not possible and that is why one should take medicine. This is our approach in life-- this is what AM philosophy teaches.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Conclusion

In a matter-centered approach, material possessions are everything. In the God-centered approach, God is the be-all and end-all. Prout philosophy teaches us to fix the problems of the mundane world so people have enough time to do sadhana and reach Parama Purusa. Prout is not matter-centered; rather, Prout is a God-centered philosophy. God is the goal; everything we disciples do is for the goal of realizing Him. Prout is not a matter-centered approach, but a God-centered philosophy.

In Him
Bhakti

Nothing accomplished

Those who think that this visible material world is everything and spend their whole lives accumulating wealth and fame wrongly thinking them to be the ultimate are destined to hit their grave completely dissatisfied. People are fooled into such matter-centered thinking by avidya ma’ya’. People who allow themselves to be befooled by the veil of ma’ya’ do not get anything in their old age but remorse that nothing was accomplished in life. Verily, they are prone to depression.

No more wallowing in old memories

“Áji, nútaneri álo eseche, kálo kuyáshá shuńye mishe geche…” (Prabhat Samgiita #1166)

Purport:

Today, the Spiritual Refulgence of evernew has come. Due to Its arrival, the black fog, which was enveloping everything, just disappeared and vanished into thin air. By Your grace, a brand-new era of neo-humanism has come. Now there is boundless happiness in life, overflowing across the entire universe. This exquisite brilliance has ushered in a phase of tremendous speed.

From this very moment on my spiritual journey, I will no longer cow down or be afraid of any kinds of obstacles. I will never stop this movement, be scared of anyone’s threats or ominous gestures, or surrender to those dark forces. By Your propulsion, I will courageously move forward. Today, new tidal waves of spirituality and cosmic unity have inundated this whole creation. Everything has been transformed. By Your grace, those suffocating days of old are bygone.

By Your krpa, today I understand that marching forward is the sign of vitality and life, whereas looking back into the past means inviting my death and demise. By Your mercy, I realise this supreme truth. There will be no more wallowing in my memories of defeats or miseries. Now, my eyes have been blessed with a spiritual awakening. By Your sweet will, I view the world in a whole new light. Someone has come, broken my slumber, and given me Your grand assurance that this life will be successful...

Why to use Deva title

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Casteism is a burden on the Hindu society. All the year round they preach casteism but on the polling days they decry it. This is wholly undesirable. It is better to avoid all titles. Titles signify the caste. If casteism is to be wiped out, it is incumbent to discard the titles. It is commendable if everyone adopts uniformity on title – Deva. Persons using a particular word more often will influence their minds with the meaning of that word. People are reluctant to use the word dása because this word signifies slavery. Whenever the so-called low caste people catch an opportunity, they declare themselves as belonging to the so-called elevated caste, etc. It is an ideal to become deva and for this reason Deva title should be adopted.”

“Titles of the present society have undergone considerable changes during the past fifty years, the cause being that everyone aspires to pertain to an elevated caste. The so-called Shúdras also use the sacred thread. This is only an effort towards the concealment of one’s identity. By this means, they conceal only their disregarded status. This is to be regretted. It is consequent on social debility that they harbour the desire for changes in their situations. It is out and out purposeless to convene All-India Conferences or particular castes. All of them desire to assert and establish their rights. This is simply misuses of energy and money.” (1)

Baba’s strategy of propagating AM teachings + 2 more

Baba

Baba’s strategy of propagating AM teachings

Namaskar,

Wherever people work they may observe many ideological lacunae and deficiencies. It would be extremely beneficial if people introspect and analyze the ideological issues at their respective workplaces in light of Ananda Marga philosophy so that they can write postings about those issues - and beyond.

A person naturally knows about their work and has a deep insight into what the problems are and what improvements are needed. If they also have a good knowledge of Ananda Marga philosophy then they can make postings on how practical problems at their workplace can be solved. Those who do not have a very good understanding can discuss with people who are knowledgeable in Ananda Marga philosophy and then can write postings. The advantage with the person belonging to a particular workplace is that they know about their specific workplace and only that person can make such a posting and can present the Ananda Marga view to the world.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Thoughts are very powerful

Ordinary people think that even if such postings are written and disseminated to a few thousand people it may not change the state of affairs. They think that even though so many articles and blogs are written on a daily basis, no change is happening. They are skeptical about any benefits that such postings will bring and often say, “What good will transpire by just reading and thinking about the issues?”

Story #1: Baba’s solutions in Jamalpur railway office

When Baba was working in the Jamalpur railway office He often discussed and shared His ideas with His office colleagues about how a spiritual society could be built and how the problems of the world could be solved. Many of His office colleagues used to say things like, “Your ideas are great, but is it at all useful to mention it to a few of us here? Isn’t it just pie in the sky?”

They used to think that talking about great ideas to change the world in this small town railway office was just a source of entertainment and had no practical value. After all, in those days there was not even any organizational backing. Baba responded to such comments by saying, “I tell you whatever thoughts come to mind so that those of you who get benefitted and like them can begin propagating them.”
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

And, in reality, that is what happened. Eventually, the AMPS organization was formed and Baba’s teachings have now spread throughout the whole world. Baba proved that thoughts propagated in a concentrated manner have a deep impact. We should learn from this example and write postings about the problems in our workplace.

Story #2: Baba’s movement against eradication of English

Once in Bihar, there was a widespread movement led by a politician, Karpoori Thakur, against the use of the English language. The activists demanded that the English language be eradicated and everything be done in their own language. Baba protested and encouraged Ananda Margiis to protest against this movement. Ananda Marga did not have any political power, yet Baba took the stand against such anti-English activists. Baba said that eradicating English would divide the people.

In India, no one calls themselves Indian: People identify themselves based on their language, like Bengalis, Gujaratis, Marathis, and so on. There are many nations in India. Long ago, Lord Krsna united India and called it Mahabharata, but that was broken into pieces later. After British colonization, a sense of an Indian nation emerged due to British exploitation. In one sense the Britishers united India into one nation. It is a different thing that while leaving India, they again fragmented India into pieces. Baba alerted all that if English was eradicated then the already divided India would become even further fragmented. English is a language which can bring people together in India. People can talk to each other, work together, and relate to each other. In this way, India will remain united. And, verily, they helped put an end to the movement and kept English alive in that area.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Example #3: Baba gives importance to regional languages

After coming out of jail in 1978, Baba began a movement to give importance to the various regional languages. Up to that point, the situation of regional languages was so grim that during the census people from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, etc. used to register their languages as Hindi. Baba said that nobody’s mother tongue in the state of Bihar is Hindi. People speak Magahi, Bhojpuri, Angika, etc. but due to an inferiority complex they register Hindi as their mother tongue.

Ananda Margiis created a massive movement and called press conferences. As a result, regional languages were given greater importance. Indeed, universities began introducing regional languages into their curriculum.

Due to Baba’s movement, this inferiority complex eventually ended, and today there are many languages scheduled officially into the government system of India.

Dharmic ideas bring great changes

So in spite of there being a relatively small number of people belonging to Ananda Marga, the impact of our AM philosophy has a tremendous impact because of the greatness of those dharmic ideas. Many great things today have originated from Ananda Marga teachings. It might not have been chronicled by the historians, but if we delve more deeply we’ll see that the main source of inspiration for many great reforms was Ananda Marga teachings. Ananda Margiis spread many thoughts by word of mouth or by pamphlets. Many liked the ideas and further propagated them. Ananda Marga does not get credit but in many cases it is the source of inspiration.

Thus, thinking deeply about the issues at one’s workplace in the light of Ananda Marga philosophy and writing postings on the same can surely have far-reaching positive effects.

Conclusion

In summary, if someone has a thought about improving something in their workplace then they should think of it as an inspiration from Parama Purusa and immediately make a posting and broadcast to others via writing or speaking. By such propagation, the tenets of dharma will surely be established. This is why postings should be made. If we discover some application of Ananda Marga philosophy in our workplace then we should immediately think and write postings on that topic. This is important as no one else is better suited than Ananda Margiis to find errors and offer dharmic solutions for the work they do.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

In Him,
Bhakti

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “A correct spiritual ideology is the only solution to the problems confronting the world. From this perspective we can call Ananda Marga ideology the philosophers’ stone. Just as the philosophers’ stone is meant to transform everything into gold, Ananda Marga ideology can, most definitely, find a just and rational solution whenever it is applied to any problem.” (1)

Why not thank Supreme Entity + 4 more

Baba
Why not thank Supreme Entity

Namaskar,

In our Ananda Marga, we surrender our everything unto Guru - Parama Puruśa. We offer our minds to Him and sacrifice ourselves for Him so we do not give "thanks" to Parama Puruśa.

Ananda Marga ideology says, "He knows everything that you know, and everything you do not know. Obviously there is no other way than total surrender to Him." (1)

Even during DMC, when so many margiis and acaryas would go on stage to receive a prize from Baba, then no one would ever say, "Thank you, Baba". Instead everyone would lay prostrate to Baba in sastaunga pranam. In Ananda Marga, our standard is high, especially with regards to our relation with Parama Puruśa. We are to give our everything to Him. In contrast, merely saying or giving "thanks" is something comparatively cheap or paltry.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

This topic of "thanks" has come up because in various parts around the globe "giving thanks" is looked upon as something very noble. People give their thanks in so many ways: to the Supreme Entity, to their parents, to their friends and families, and to their communities. These are some of the ways that this gets expressed.

Thanks is only for distant people

However, in the tantric lifestyle of Ananda Marga, our approach is entirely different. With persons close to us, we have a relationship based on love and service. Due to feelings of closeness we do not say "thanks". Because we understand that the help and support are given with heartfelt feeling, not for any recognition or in hopes that we would say "thanks".

As bhaktas, we are ready to do each and every thing for our close relations in service to the Supreme. This is internally understood; in that case, there is no need to say "thanks", rather that would only demean the interaction and relation, as if the person helped you only in order to be "thanked". When, in truth, the feeling and intent runs so much deeper than that. By your demeanor, your close relation understands that you have respect and appreciation for their help and support, which goes far beyond the term "thanks".
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

In our Marga, we only verbally offer thanks to those who are far or distant from us. Saying "thanks" is part of our social norms, but it is not something we use with those whom we feel a sense of intimacy and closeness. If someone whom we revere or if someone close to us does something for us, we will not say "thanks." Saying so will only brand that person as being distant. We only say "thanks" or "thank you" in more formal, business, or distant relations. It is not used with close people and certainly not with Parama Purusa.

“Thank you” trend may seep all around

Yet, in the west, saying "thank you" is looked upon as quite honourable. This is used even between very close persons. Perhaps because the concept of service is less understood or because the relationship between family members is more distant, as people are more accustomed to living by themselves, not as part of a collective. Whatever may be, saying "thank you" is looked upon as something very gracious in the west whereas in our Ananda Marga society it is not.

We should all understand the ethic in Ananda Marga, and, at the same time, keep in mind that many of the pseudo-culture ways are being adopted by the rest of the world. This is likely to happen with saying “thanks” as well. We should be sure that we do not get affected; rather, with a clear mind and heart we should be rationally grounded in our sentient manner. For all these reasons and more, this is a topic of importance for Ananda Margiis.

Giving & taking thanks is just business relation

Giving thanks and taking thanks is the epitome of a business relation. When you think that you are giving something and you want recognition for it, then in that case you desire for the next person to recognize your deed and give you thanks. And if that does not happen you may be frustrated, upset, or disappointed. This demonstrates how and why it is a business relation.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

In stark contrast, service is done with an entirely different motive where the person does not want or expect anything in return - not even “thanks”. For instance, suppose you feed the needy, i.e. Narayana seva, without wanting anything in return because you think that, “God Himself has come before me in the form of this needy person. And since God has given me the strength and the duty to serve, I do not want any recognition or thanks in return - not from anyone.” That is the service mentality in the Ananda Marga system of meditation.

According to the purview of Ananda Marga ideology, nothing belongs to you, rather whatever you have has been given to you by the Supreme Entity for the service of all. So when you are serving others that means you are fulfilling your duty in order to please the Supreme Entity. Naturally then you do not want any recognition from any person or party, otherwise that would make it a business relation. Then it will no longer qualify as service. That's why a true sadhaka thinks, “When I do any service I do not want thanks from anybody.” This is the science behind the business and service mentality. Again, giving and taking thanks is just a business relation.

Surrender to Guru - not give thanks

We should take Baba's lesson to heart and strictly follow the ethic in Ananda Marga. With regard to Guru we are to offer ourselves, not our thanks.

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "Remember, you have to offer your own identity – not money, rice plantains or other crude objects. The give-and-take of crude things is a business transaction. If you want to attain the bliss of Brahma, you must offer your own self. If you want to have the Great “I”, you must give away your own little “I”. You have to give the full sixteen annas, (the full rupee). Giving fifteen annas and holding back one anna will not do. You must completely surrender. To attain that Infinite One with the help of your mental concentration and strength, you have to surrender yourselves." (2)

In Ananda Marga, every sadhaka feels a very close and personal connection with Parama Purusa. In sadhana or anytime throughout the day, the inner feeling comes, "O’ Parama Puruśa, I love You so much, I am ready to do anything and everything for You." When every bhakta of the Marga is ready to give everything with Him, then merely saying "thanks" is just a tinsel-like expression. Our link with Parama Purusa is very intimate and personal and full of the desire to serve Him. It is His grace.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

In stark contrast, in many of the dogmatic religions, there is a much more distant feeling with the Supreme Entity and worshipers commonly give thanks to the Supreme Entity when receiving food, pay raises, and other mundane things. So theirs is an entirely different, more external approach, both in the spiritual and social sphere.

Conclusion

Our link with Parama Purusa is based on bhakti, service, and the desire to please Him. We do not give thanks to Him, nor to our close persons. When addressing or communicating with our close persons then by our unspoken behaviour and love we express so much more to them than by saying "thanks", but certainly with people whom we do not know very well, then according to our social norms, saying "thanks" is quite appropriate.

Namaskar,
In Him,
Satyajiit

“Thanksgiving was celebrated as a religious holiday, giving thanks to God for the previous year's blessings. It took a long time before it was fully adopted as a holiday and celebrated by all states. Finally, Roosevelt issued a proclamation in 1942 designating the fourth Thursday in November as Thanksgiving Day.” (Courtesy of History (dot) com)

Tasmae Shrii Gurave Namah

Ananda Marga ideology states, "I surrender myself at your altar. Namah means to “surrender”. Namah refers to the process called “Namo mudra'”. It means that all my expressions, all my dexterities, which are expressed through my ten fingers, have been brought to a point. That is, I surrender along with all my capabilities, all my dexterities." (3)

Baba story

One time when Baba was going out for His field walk, many margii families had gathered round to see Baba as He came out from His house. At one point, Baba lovingly gestured toward one of the margii children, and the young child said, "Thanks." The child had obviously learned this from his parents. Baba smiled and gently said, "See, this young child is telling Me 'thanks'."
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Everyone present clearly understood Baba's message: As His disciples and bhaktas, we are not supposed to offer "thanks" to Baba, Parama Puruśa. This was the indirect teaching Baba was giving us that day. That was the first and last time any of us ever heard anyone say "thank you" to Baba.

Ultimately, all our actions are done in service to Him - as we try to fulfill our debt to Guru by giving our all.

My misery & sorrow

"Bhúlo ná prabhú, e tava kańáre bhúlo ná..." (Prabhat Samgiita #3161)

Purport:

O’ Prabhu, I beg You not to forget this tiny particle of Yours. I am that small atom and ask You to keep me under Your wings. I have come from You and am always within You. Please do not ignore or toss me away outside, rather shower Your grace and grant me the highest bhakti.

O’ my Parama Purusa, since the early dawn of this creation, from the very beginning of saincara, You have invariably been with me in the flow of Your thought waves. Never have I been apart from You. Unfailingly, You have remained very close to me. In both good and bad times of my life, You are always there to save me. In this sweet, fragrant, spring breeze, Your heart is very near to mine. You love me. My Adored One, please do not go away or push me far. Let me remain with You forever.

O’ Parama Purusa Baba, normally every living being, each jiiva, has both positive and negative qualities, with a mix of various merits and demerits - virtue and vice. But my case is different. I have very little virtue and a huge amount of vice. My bad qualities are so numerous that they completely outnumber and overshadow a few good qualities. Parama Purusa, I fell into the dungeon of deep, cimmerian darkness and am crying in my pain and suffering. Now, please do not act unkindly by leaving me in misery and sorrow. Be gracious and keep me under Your shelter and care.

O’ Baba, please do not ever forget me. I have come from You. I am Yours and You are mine. Kindly keep me under your wings....

Notes for Prabhat Samgiita #3161:

Ananda Marga ideology states, “The poet Vidyapati also said, “Adi anándika nátha kaháyasi ab tárańa bhárańa tumhárá.” “You are the Lord of the beginning and the Lord of the end also. I am somewhere between the beginning and the end, and so You are also my Lord. Thus it is Your duty to save me, to redeem me, to protect me from danger. You are bound to do that.”” (1)

Ananda Marga ideology guides us, “Paramátmá is the Soul of all souls in the Universe. They receive energy from Paramátmá. The ownership of anything is not yours; it is His. Everything comes from Him and ultimately goes to Him. You cannot create any original object; objects come from Him.” (2)

Ananda Marga ideology says, “Oh Parama Brahma, I am not outside your universe. I surrender to you, ‘Lead me along the path of righteousness, lead me according to your will.’” (3)

Sadhakas needed

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "While dharma in the true sense of the term is based on logic and the realizations of great sádhakas [spiritual aspirants], religion, or dharmamata, is based entirely on irrational blind faith. So religions are always sheltered within dogma. While the propagation of dharma goes on spontaneously, for the propagation and establishment of dogma-based religions, the financial power of the vaeshyas [capitalists] and the intellectual prowess of the vipras [intellectuals] is inevitably needed. What we observe from the history of humankind is that the religions which have come so far have, without exception, taken shelter under the wings of capitalism. While money has been spent lavishly for the construction of beautiful places of worship, money has never been arranged for food, clothing, housing, education and medical care for the welfare of the poor. While for four full years all the state revenues of Orissa were spent for the construction of the Konark temple, during that period not a penny was spent for human welfare. Needless to say, the history of all countries is replete with such examples." (1)

In His above teaching, Baba points out how in the past the dogmatic religions spent their money on material pursuits such as the construction of the Konark temple, while the common people languished in utter poverty, half-naked and hungry. A similar state of affairs has befallen our AMPS where all emphasis is on material construction rather than a man-making mission.

#1: AMPS needs human beings.
#2: So many ashrams and MUs are empty - now AM needs human beings not buildings.
#3: Those donating to those buildings and types of construction etc are all fools.
#4: Essentially, they are preparing those sites for non-margiis.
#5: Due to lack of occupancy by AMPS others will take over those buildings; that is what happened with the ashrams of other religions.
#6: In Bihar, Kabir followers had tens of thousands of MUs, and now everything is occupied by Bhumihar.
#7: So remain alert; we need humans.

Whose dogma is this

Kindly read the below quote from Baba's teachings. At the end of the quote a question has been posed. If your answer to the question is correct then it means you read Baba's books carefully; and, if your answer is wrong or you do not know the answer, then it signifies that you need to pay more attention when reading Guru's teachings. After all, if sadhakas are not diligent in studying Baba's books then who is going to read them - non-margiis?

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Human life is like a drop of water on a lotus leaf, therefore it is futile to try and develop the material world. Such philosophies advise “atmanam viddhi” or “know thyself”. All the religions of the East have clearly instructed their followers to try and accept the path of shreya or that which leads to supreme benevolence only, to the utter exclusion of preya or that which leads to the acquisition of mundane objects! It may be that this sort of philosophy is not logically incorrect, but in practice this type of extreme idealism preaches that the world should be ignored. The individual human being may develop conscience, morality, renunciation, etc., and may reach the height of spirituality, but the society as a whole will not thereby progress. The maximum development of the society will be reached when there is balanced development in the physical, mental and spiritual spheres.” (1)

Question: Whose philosophy is Baba referring to in the yellow highlighted section?

Answer: In the above Quiz, in the yellow highlighted section Sadguru Baba is talking about - the Shankaracharya’s teachings of mayavada. The followers of mayavada preach the dogma that this material world is just an illusion - not real.

Message of dedication: NH book

The Propounder of neo-humanism states:

“To those who think for all . . .
who offer others seats of honour and respect . . .
who venerate others, instead of waiting to be venerated –
to them I dedicate this book with humble esteem and deepest salutations.” (1)

- Shrii Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar

Note: In the above lines, it is obvious we should give first priority to honouring those whom nobody honours.

Origin of polo

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "The well-known modern game of polo originated in Manipur's Kobe Valley...Originally, only royal princes used to play the horse-riding game of polo. For that a very hard ball was needed. The kind of bamboo that was used, used to grow in the eastern portion of Rarh, in slightly salty soil. Still today the best bamboo for making polo balls grows in the Uluberia subdivision of Howrah District and in Midnapore District's Tamluk subdivision." (1)
