Samskara & rebirth of famous leader + 4 more

Baba

Samskara & rebirth of famous leader

Namaskar,

In the three stories appended below, Baba reveals the past life, status of mind, and rebirth of one famous Indian political leader.

Due to bad deed: reborn as a lower being

In the cycle of brahmacakra, the starting point of pratisaincara denotes when living beings proceed slowly from plant life to animal life and finally to human life.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Once one attains the human frame they have free will. If with their free will they goad their mind in a positive direction, they will become more and more subtle, refined. They will progress on the path of spirituality. And if they exercise their free will in the opposite degrading direction, then they will degenerate and be reborn as a lower being.

As shown below, in the first story, the person had passed through the stages of plant and animal life and finally got human life. Then after perhaps his first human life or so, he was reborn as a monk. But at that point, the strong desire came in his mind to rule over others. So this person's dominant desire was not towards spirituality or God realization, and when one does not yearn for knowing the Supreme, one cannot get Him. Rather his longing was for power and prestige. In that case, moksa was not a possibility. He would have to be reborn so his samskara for power could get exhausted. In that way, he took rebirth and became a political leader of India.

In that position, he indulged in all kinds of negative actions and misused his power. He lost all his good qualities and degenerated terribly. Upon his death, prakrti assigned him the body of a wild Indian street dog. So he went directly from being a political leader to animal life.

When he finished his life as a dog, then maybe he was reborn as a monkey or as a normal human being. This is the way the cycle of samskaras plays out. Everyone undergoes the reactions of their past actions.

Indeed, what transpired with this particular politician was not a rare event. Rather this is a most common scenario. This type of scenario happens in most cases. And his mind leaned in that direction, so he remained under the bondage of prakrti. To overcome the grasp of prakrti is not easy; sadhana and His cosmic grace are needed - otherwise it is impossible. That is why Baba warns us that without twice daily meditation, one will "throw oneself into the tortures of animal life for crores of years."
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

When misuse of free will then

Here we have to keep in mind that this political leader's case is typical, not uncommon. People gradually get human life; some do good deeds and become inclined towards spirituality; and they become veritable sadhakas - either as a family person or a monk. But if during that phase they have other worldly longings, then in their next life prakrti fulfills that longing.

In that case, they are granted power, post, money, name or fame etc, and invariably they misuse their status and pass their days, in committing  injustices, harming innocent people. Thereafter, they get terribly degenerated - as happened with this political leader.

Actually, truly speaking, he was fortunate in that he only fell to the level of a dog, which is a fairly developed being. Many demonic rulers, upon their death, get transformed into stones, sticks, or some virus, bug or worm. From that status, it takes thousands and millions of years to come back again in human life. Even then, after getting human life it is not sure that one will utilise the time properly. Greedy capitalists are reborn as pieces of gold or paper dollar notes. All in all, it is a very horrifying situation. In that case, it takes an extremely long time to again get human life, crores and crores of years.

Now we can understand how gracious Baba is and how much Baba has blessed us by making it very easy to cross this ocean of bhava, i.e. bundle of samskaras. By practising sadhana twice daily, one is going to get mukti - liberation. That is His expressed guarantee to all sadhakas of the Marga.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Those not regular in sadhana should start doing from this very moment. One should not miss this special opportunity. Death can knock on your door anytime - then it will be too late. If you are doing sadhana regularly then liberation is guaranteed.

Namaskar,
in Him,
Sundar

Immediately undergo reaction of same intensity

Ananda Marga ideology, “As long as one has a physical body, one cannot be free from action. Thus spiritual aspirants must be ever-vigilant to ensure that new reactive momenta do not enter their vásanábháńda. Through proper Cosmic ideation (Brahmacarya), sádhakas can keep their vásanábhánd́a filled with the ideation of Consciousness. They may have to undergo their past saḿskáras, but because they constantly ideate on the Supreme, no new bundle of saḿskáras will be created. Moreover their old saḿskáras will be exhausted more quickly.” (1)

Ananda Marga ideology, “Human beings undergo reactions according to the nature of their original actions. If someone harms a sick person, a saint, a person who has taken shelter with someone, or an honest person, he or she will immediately undergo a reaction of the same intensity. This is because sick, infirm and saintly people never obstruct the original actions of wrongdoers. Whatever the original actions of a person may be, good or bad, reactive momenta are bound to be created. Until all these potential reactions are expressed, liberation or salvation is impossible.” (2)

Those who come are one day going to die. All then are curious to know what happens after death. Those who do not know, please read Ananda Marga Elementary Philosophy and Idea and Ideology. In those books you can learn more about life, death, samskara, and rebirth.

Write us to learn the name of this leader

For obvious reasons, we have not named the political leader in the below account. By reading, you may have figured out who it is. However, if you are not sure, or are curious, or want confirmation, then write us and we will let you know.

These following stories, recounted by family acarya Dasarathji of Jamalpur, hold great educative value for every sadhaka as they give tremendous insight into how the samskara theory works and how one can attain the supreme rank.

Here following is Dasarathji's first story...

Story #1: What was he in previous birth

"One day while holding darshan, Baba called me forward and directed me to see the past life of one political leader of the Indian independence movement. With Baba's blessing, I began to describe what I saw."
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

"In a very mountainous region there is one tree, and seated beneath the tree is a monk doing meditation. The monk is clothed only in a laungota."

"Baba then instructed me to look into the mental plate of that monk and describe what I saw."

I recounted, "He has a strong, dominant desire to rule others."

Reflection: By this demonstration recounted by respected Ac Dasarathji, it is clear that in his previous life this political leader was a sadhaka who had a burning desire to get power. In result, instead of getting moksa, that monk was reborn in human form and given a high post during the Indian independence movement.

Here following is Dasarathji's next story...

Story #2: A comparison with Subhash

"In a second demonstration, Baba compared the life of this same political leader with that of Subhash Chandra Bose. The year was 1962, just after China invaded and captured part of India."

"Baba called upon me and instructed me to go and see what the political leader was doing. Immediately, within a flash, I could see exactly what was going on."

"That political leader was in his residence, feeling troubled and humiliated by China's attack. He was in a state of extreme psychic turmoil and drinking alcohol heavily in his room."

"Then Baba instructed me to go and see what Subhash was doing. I reported that Subhash was performing meditation in a Himalayan cave."
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

"Baba inquired if I saw anything else. I replied that there are many skulls around."

Reflection: By this above demonstration, recounted by Ac Dasarathji, anyone can easily understand the contrasting states of mind of these two leaders. The first was sunk in woe drinking alcohol, while the second was a great tantrika doing sadhana.

For those who may not know, at one time both this political leader and Subhash were working together in the same party for India's freedom. But due to ideological differences, Subhash was pushed away. It was quite natural then for Baba to compare the progression and transformation of these two leaders.

Here following is Dasarathji's third story…

Story #3: Rebirth as a dog

"Some years later, Baba performed a third demonstration. Baba instructed me to go and see what happened to that political leader after he died."

"I saw in my mind's eye that he had been reborn as a dog and was now living a dog's life."
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

"Such is the shocking plight of the once Indian independence leader."

Plagiary?

It is the accepted international standard and Baba's system not to copy another's work and publish it in your own way. Baba has given a very strict rule on plagiarism. Why is Baba against plagiarism or stealing someone's work? There are many reasons:

1) It is against the code of asteya (non-stealing).

2) Countless stories of bhaktas need to be published. But some do not want to do the hard work of compiling and writing these stories, so they just steal them from others. But new stories need to be told, otherwise so many unpublished stories of sadhakas will be lost and forgotten forever. So watch out for story thieves, and kindly help them not to steal by posting on social media in their own way. If you want to forward this story then attach the following yellow section with the story:

“Courtesy of unknown bhakta via Ananda Marga Universal (https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/)”

This will be treated as the standard protocol.

About today’s scripts

Prout philosophy states, "In the present world there are four types of scripts – Indo Aryan, Semitic, Occido-Aryan and Mongolo-Chinese scripts."

"The Mongolo-Chinese scripts are pictorial scripts – all the letters of the scripts are pictures. They contain about 1055 letters. In the Occido-Aryan scripts there are 20 to 35 letters. In the Indo-Aryan scripts there are about 50 letters, and in the Semitic scripts there are 20 to 30 letters."

"The Chinese and Japanese practice of using Romanized Mongolo-Chinese script is unscientific."

"Arabic, Persian, Urdu, Sindhi, Kashmiri, etc. come under the Semitic scripts and are written from right to left. This is difficult to write and takes a long time to print. Malaya has abandoned Arabic script and adopted Roman script to overcome this difficulty."

"The scripts of Tibet and South-East Asia come under the Indo-Aryan scripts. They are quite good but difficulties arise in joining letters. Through practice it has been experienced that Roman script is the best script. It is the most scientific. Those who oppose it do so out of local sentiments. Proutists won't go against any local script, but they will encourage the most scientific script as the world script. At present Roman script is the most scientific script. Future generations may evolve a new script." (1)

When people are fired & not given new job

According to Prout philosophy, "For the all-round welfare of human beings, society needs to follow some fundamental socio-political principles. Without the firm foundation of such principles, disunity, injustice and exploitation will flourish."
"First people should not be retrenched from their livelihood unless alternative employment has been arranged for them."
"Let us discuss what happens when people lose their livelihood. Take the example of rickshaw pullers in India. The work of rickshaw pullers is exhausting and poorly paid, but if it is declared illegal, many rickshaw pullers will become unemployed and their lives will become more miserable. Those who cannot find alternative employment will either die of starvation or become criminals in an effort to survive. In either case, society will be adversely affected. So, before this occupation is prohibited, rickshaw pullers should be provided with suitable alternative employment." (1)

Note 1: In failing to follow this important point, nowadays some countries are facing a whirlpool of criminal activity. One example is the situation in Iraq and the formation of ISIS / ISIL. When Saddam Hussein was in power and ruling over Iraq then he employed a huge army. When the US deposed of Saddam Hussein and dismantled the entire army, they imposed the order that those soldiers must not be given any work. Without a guaranteed job, those soldiers formed themselves into the terrorist, fighting brigade known as ISIS / ISIL that is currently wreaking havoc throughout the region. ISIS / ISIL is responsible for tens of thousands of deaths of innocent people and wanton destruction throughout the land. And the root cause is that Hussein's fighting forces lost their jobs without any guarantee of other employment.

Note 2: Here it should be understood that the term retrenchment means losing one's job. The worker has been dismissed, fired, or let go whereby they no longer have a job. The term retrenchment is commonly used in Australia and South Africa. People from other regions may not be familiar with this usage of the term.

How to utilize others

Prout philosophy says, “The method of utilization should vary in accordance with the changes in time, space and person, and the utilization should be of a progressive nature. Take a particular example. Suppose a physically strong person serves the society as a rickshaw puller or a market porter. As the rickshaw may become outdated some day, the method of utilizing their physical strength should vary. If a person is intellectually developed but has the same physical strength as others, their intellectual potentiality should be utilized. Thus the process of utilization will not be the same for all people. Better methods of utilization should be continually developed, but the process of utilization should be progressive in nature.” (1)

Types of peace: bad to beneficial + 3 more

Baba
Types of peace: bad to beneficial

Namaskar,

A woman in an Indian household does not raise her voice against her abusive husband due to social pressure. The husband may take out his frustrations by beating his wife and children. Due to fear and respect for the dogmatic social norms, the wife tolerates her husband’s cruel behavior quietly. From the outside, the household may appear quiet and peaceful as there is no fight. That is static peace. Should such a morbid and static quietness be accepted as desirable peace? According to Ananda Marga ideology, ta’masikii sha’nti (static peace) is not desirable.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Three types of sha’nti (peace)

According to Ananda Marga teachings, there are three types of sha’nti (peace), namely, (1) ta’masikii (static) sha’nti, (2) sa’ttvikii (sentient) sha’nti, and (3) parama’ sha’nti (perfect peace).

Prout philosophy states, “The cry, “Peace! Peace!” has become a craze in the world today. Can anything be achieved by such cries? There is no way to establish peace except to fight against the very factors which disturb peace.” (1)

#1: Ta’masikii sha’nti / static peace

If the voice of agitation is forcefully smothered during a struggle against exploitation, then the struggle ceases. This cessation of struggle is caused by the victory of the avidyá (negative) forces over vidyá (positive) forces. Many mistakenly think that peace has been achieved as all the noise of struggle has ended. However, this so-called peace is only temporary peace and is ta’masikii sha’nti (static peace).

For instance, consider a situation in any factory wherein there is a serious inequity in wages and the workers only earn 1 dollar per day while the CEO makes 300 times that amount. It is natural that the workers may stop work to agitate for fair wages. The management may call the police to handle the ensuing unrest, and the police may beat up the agitators, or worse, open fire and kill a few of them to intimidate the rest and stop the movement. After this, the intimidated workers may return to work and it may be reported that peace has been restored. And yet the undercurrent of exploitation remains unaddressed. That is static peace.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

#2: Sa’ttvikii sha’nti / sentient peace

When the force of vidyá (positive force) defeats the force of avidyá (negative force), there also the struggle ends. The peace thus obtained is called sa’ttvikii sha’nti (sentient peace). Bringing about sentient peace requires a great deal of effort. This is a desirable situation of peace in collective life.

#3: Parama’ sha’nti / absolute peace

The struggle between avidyá (negative force) and vidyá (positive force) is perpetual. There may be a temporary cessation of struggle from time to time and in different places. If vidyá (positive force) wins we say that sentient peace has been established while if avidyá (negative force) wins then we say static peace has been established. However, these victories are temporary and neither sentient nor static peace is permanent. Permanent relief is possible only with absolute peace. Absolute peace is possible only when one develops bhakti and ensconces their mind in Parama Purus’a.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Static peace is de-facto standard today

Unfortunately, a vast majority of the general public advocate superficial ta’masikii sha’nti. People try to quiet the commotion without investigating and addressing the main cause. If noise is coming out of a household due to the husband beating his wife then it is a sin not to intervene and stop the exploitation. Most people simply tell the husband and wife to maintain peace by not making noise but don’t try to find out the main cause. By asking the husband and wife not to make noise, an attempt is made to establish static peace. Often, parents yell at their fighting children to maintain silence without discriminating between who is the main troublemaker. In such cases, the parents are setting a bad example by establishing static peace. The correct approach is to find the main cause and rectify it. Such an approach may be more difficult, but the peace thus obtained is sentient and the preferred outcome.

Absolute peace only possible in individual life

Both ta’masikii (static) and sa’ttvikii peace are temporary in nature as the notion of such peace is applicable only in the scope of this world which is a relative reality. The created universe is a relative reality, and there cannot be absolute peace on this relative plane. One can accomplish absolute peace in one’s individual life, but not in collective life. Thus, as sa’dhakas, our goal should be to establish sa’ttvikii sha’nti (peace) in the collective sphere, while seeking Parama’ sha’nti in our individual lives.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Conclusion

Many times people think that putting an end to a commotion by smothering the struggle against injustice and exploitation is the way to bring peace. However, in such cases, the exploitation and injustice remain unaddressed, and the peace thus obtained is ta’masikii sha’nti / static peace. Ta’masik peace is not permanent, and we should strive for sentient peace in our collective lives. In our individual lives, however, we should strive for Parama’ Sha’nti (absolute peace), as that alone is permanent.

Prout philosophy states, “The cry, “Peace! Peace!” has become a craze in the world today. Can anything be achieved by such cries? There is no way to establish peace except to fight against the very factors which disturb peace.” (1)

Samvit

What to do when fight breaks out

When any fight erupts, those onlookers have a specific duty according to our AM  ideology. In this case, every Ananda Margii should know what should be done.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

This following is the English summary of the Bangla teaching (Bha’rata, Tantra A’r Ta’ntrika, GD 1966, Calcutta):

Here is a case example: Tom was beating Dick. Hearing this, Harry came and cried out, “Why are you two fighting and beating each other. Stop quarreling! Live together peacefully.” No doubt, Harry’s words are very sweet. But this type of sweet talk has no value. It is useless and worthless. The proper thing is for Harry to find out who the real culprit is: Dick or Tom. If it is found that Tom is the culprit then it is appropriate to immediately support Dick and arrange proper punishment for Tom. This is the only path in Tantra.

If this is not done, and you only say, “Do not quarrel - do not quarrel, live together peacefully, and stop fighting”, then the next day you will find that Tom beat Dick even more severely. This demonstrates that Harry’s attempt at an intervention - i.e. spread the holy water of peace, peace, peace - was completely fruitless. And this will only further convince Tom that he can have his way with Dick without any retribution. So Tom’s audacity will grow exponentially and he will again beat Dick mercilessly. (English summary)

Absolute peace may shower only on individual

Ananda Marga ideology states, “Jiṋátvá shivaḿ shántimatyantameti. Parama Puruśa is Shiva. By knowing Him human beings can attain absolute peace. The word shánti is derived from the Saḿskrta root verb sham plus suffix ktin. Shánti means to remain absorbed in one’s own self. One can attain equanimity and equipoise of mind by knowing Parama Puruśa. This is what is called shánti.” (2)

Ananda Marga ideology states, “When the static force becomes predominant there will be peace, which is termed tamoguńii shánti [static peace]. When the sentient force dominates there will also be peace, which is called sáttvikii shánti [sentient peace]. This fight between the static and sentient forces will continue as long as the universe exists. There cannot be any absolute peace in the realm of relativity. Absolute peace may shower down in an individual’s life, but not on the collective body. When individual animation is suspended in Cosmic animation, or when individual aspiration is suspended in Cosmic aspiration, the result is absolute peace. Absolute peace in the collective body means the suspension of the universe, which is an impossibility.” (3)

“Don't quarrel”: a bogus slogan

Prout philosophy states, “The cry, “Peace! Peace!” has become a craze in the world today. Can anything be achieved by such cries? There is no way to establish peace except to fight against the very factors which disturb peace. Even in the personal life of every human being, there is a constant fight between the benevolent and the malevolent intellect, or between vidyá and avidyá. At times vidyá triumphs, while at other times avidyá wins. In social life, too, this fight between vidyá and avidyá continues. Vidyá has to fight avidyá, and in this fight wherever and as long as vidyá remains triumphant, there is a special type of peace which may be called sáttvikii shánti [sentient peace]. Similarly, wherever and as long as avidyá remains victorious in this fight, there, also, a special type of peace prevails which may be called támasikii shánti [static peace]. Thus we find that peace is actually a relative factor. Absolute or permanent peace cannot occur in collective life because the created universe, which is embedded in the process of saiṋcara [extroversion] and pratisaiṋcara [introversion] is, in fact, dominated first by Avidyá [extroversial force], and then by Vidyá [introversial force], respectively.” (4)

I have only one hope

"Tumi path bhúle yadi ele jene shune,nái bá ele, nái ba ele,
sámarthya nái kari nimantrańa,tabu yadi ele avahele..." (Prabhat Samgiita #2246)

Purport:

O’ Parama Purusa, even if You come by mistake or because of forgetting Your path, that will be wonderful. Up until now, You haven’t had a plan to come over here. I will consider that Your fathomless grace. Because I can see that up till this moment, by Your own choice, You have not come. Baba, please be merciful and come to me. By my own merit I do not have any capacity or strength to invite You to come to me. You are my everything - my whole life is revolving around You. My Divine Entity, it is my great hope that You will come, even if by chance, or in disdain, or to discipline me for my bad conduct.

O’ My Supreme One, I want to receive You in a most ceremonial and unique manner. But I do not have a golden throne for Your majestic arrival. Nor do I have a beautiful, charming, silken dais for You. O’ my nearest One, I have not decorated Your path of arrival with alpana. My heart longs to receive and have You. Baba, I have only one hope: that You will come - even if it was not Your intention. I will consider that to be Your endless compassion.

O’ Parama Purusa Baba, You know well that in this thatched hut of mine there is not an abundant amount of wealth. I do not have costly gems and jewels to display or show at the time of Your august visit - nor do I have A-grade bhakti. My dearest, with my heartfelt longing and love, I hope that at least You will bless me and come, even if that was not Your plan.

Baba, You are ever-gracious. I long for Your foot-dust. Please shower me in Your love...

Notes for Prabhat Samgiita #2246:

[1] A'lpana': These are the colourful motifs, sacred art, or decorative painting done on a horizontal surface (walkway, patio etc) on auspicious occasions. Those who have attended DMC might have witnessed how on the walking path across the stage leading up towards Baba's dais there are some very decorative, colourful, attractive designs. In an artistic manner there is a brilliant array of flower pollen, flower petals, or any colorful scented fragrance which are soft and upon which someone can walk comfortably. This beautiful and colourful decoration is known as a'lpana' and it is meant to pay high respect and adoration to the Divine Entity. In our Marga this is used for Baba's holy and auspicious arrival. In common social settings and religious life the general population makes such decorations for the respected Deity. It is also employed in the temples.

[2] In this above song, all the references to worldly riches and wealth such as the "golden throne" and "costly gems and jewels" represent the qualities or merits that a person achieves in life: High education, various skills & good deeds, top-level job, noble character, track record of social service etc. Those “gems and jewels” also refer to great spiritual wealth, i.e. highest devotion or parabhakti. But the sadhaka in this song does not possess any of those worldly attributions - nor does he have high spiritual longing and realisation. Hence he cannot rely upon such attributions to call Parama Purusa. So instead the sadhaka is calling Him with whatever degree of heart-felt devotion he has. This is the special scene which has been expressed in this Prabhat Samgiita.

Real formula of weapons

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "Nowadays science means creating new weapons – strengthening the hands of warmongers; but the spirit of science should not be like this; and at the start, in the primordial phase of human life it was not so. Yes, there is necessity of weapons – weapons not for strengthening the hands of warmongers, but for providing security for good ideas, good thoughts, and good persons. Science should be just like art: science for service and blessedness, “Art for service and blessedness,” I said; and I say, science is also for service and blessedness. Science should always be utilized for the proper progress of human society.” (1)

Note: In the above quote Baba is guiding us that all forms of artistic expression - from music to drawing to writing-- are for elevating and serving humanity and goading the mind to more subtle thoughts. In the past nobody could conceive of this beautiful and vast idea, especially in materialistic societies where art has become a showpiece for baser propensities. That only shows why Baba's teaching is so unique.

No salvation by this route

Kindly read the below quote from Baba's teachings. At the end of the quote a question has been posed. If your answer to the question is correct then it means you read Baba's books carefully; and, if your answer is wrong or you do not know the answer, then it signifies that you need to pay more attention when reading Guru's teachings. After all, if sadhakas are not diligent in studying Baba's books then who is going to read them - non-margiis?

Here then is the quote:

Ananda Marga ideology states, "There are some people who die after fasting for thirty or forty days. The members of their community think that they have attained salvation thereby, but one cannot attain salvation by fasting in this way." (1)

Question: Who is Baba referring to in the above quote?

--

Answer: Both Vinoba Bhave and Balak Brahmacari fall in this category. They both died after extended fasts, and in both cases their followers thought they had attained supreme realisation (moksa), but in His above teaching Baba informs us otherwise.

Verily, so many have passed in this way - especially monks have died from long fasts and their followers believe they got moksa. That is a misnomer within the Hindu religion.

If due to lack of food one attained salvation, then what about all those in economically destitute nations who have starved to death such as during terrible famines. Did they too all attain moksa?

Fear epidemic & antidote + 4 more

Baba
Fear epidemic & antidote

Namaskar,

In this modern world, the onset of fear psychosis is rampant. And its onset can be traced to two basic sources:
(#1) a debased socio-political environment, and
(#2) a defective mental outlook.

The defective psychic outlook has been brought on by a few prevailing forces:
(a) Matter-centered philosophy: Materialists like capitalists etc do not depend upon God, rather they are completely focused on the impermanent so they are always worried and fearful. No matter how much money they have they are always scared that the markets will go down or the banks will collapse etc.
(b) Religion: The various religions are notorious for imposing a fear complex that “you will go to hell”, or other imaginary threats etc. So such followers live in a state of perpetual fear.
(c) Provincialism: Due to a lack of neo-humanism people are scared about those who do not look like they look; this brings about a terrible feeling of uneasiness and trepidation.

When these factors are not proper then the level of fear increases exponentially until it becomes an epidemic. And that is what we are bearing witness to nowadays in the so-called developed nations where the common masses are suffering a lot psychically. As A'nanda Ma'rgiis we should step by step apply Baba's teachings because He has provided the perfect and exact answers to overcome any and all types of fear complexes and mania etc.

Fear created by political leaders

It is an age-old method of political leaders to infuse fear on the common masses in order to increase their own political strength.

Prout philosophy says, "To control the masses in the psychic sphere, a fear complex was forcibly injected into their minds...If you analyse human history in all its aspects in a new way, in a new light, you will find that attempts were made to exploit others by injecting a fear complex in their minds." (1)

The present day political leaders are desperate to stay in power and their main recourse to increase their grip on the people is to impose various fear sentiments - and make the people scared. By that way, the people support their socio-political agenda. Not because they are attracted to those policies per se, but out of fear of the unknown and other potential consequences. These days around the globe there are countless cases of such leaders using the fear sentiment to control the masses. Some of those sentiments include:
  • Fear of an impending economic downturn
  • Fear of a rival political party
  • Fear of racial tensions
  • Fear of unemployment
  • Fear of rising fuel / food prices
  • Fear of an attack by perceived enemies
  • Fear of future unknowns
  • And so on…

By the infusion of such fears, many start to rally around the ruling elites. These political leaders are quite satisfied with the results because in the short-term it helps them retain their political strength and power. But, in the true sense, what little political might they gained is short lived; it dies quickly. That is the plus side. And the real tragedy is that their negative tactics infuse a deep-seated fear psychosis in the minds of innocent and naive people.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

This is the patented technique of those political leaders to gain control over the public. And the worst part is that the common people get permanently emotionally and psychically scared by this imposition of fear-- all due to the negative socio-political environment.

Solution: universal family feeling

Baba guides us that instead of using a negative fear sentiment to create unity a positive sentiment should be used.

Prout philosophy states, “Negative sentiments should never be used to divide people into castes and communities – to create artificial fissiparous tendencies in society. Rather, they should always be used to bring unity amongst people. Hitler used racism in an effort to unite the German people and he succeeded in the short-term, but because he used negative sentiments only and had no positive sentiments, his approach resulted in a world war and the near destruction of Germany. The path of negativity is extremely dangerous and harmful for society. Positive sentiments are the real weapons to build society. This must never be forgotten under any circumstances.” (2)

Prout philosophy states, “According to PROUT, there are two types of sentiments – positive sentiments and negative sentiments. Positive sentiments are synthetic in nature. They unite society and elevate humanity, enhance collective interests and encourage progressive development. Negative sentiments are narrow in scope and divide society. Some important positive sentiments include anti-exploitation sentiment, revolutionary sentiment, moral sentiment, cultural sentiment, universal sentiment and spiritual sentiment. Some negative sentiments include communalism, patriotism, nationalism, provincialism, lingualism and racism.” (3)

Moralists will teach everyone that we are all part of the same human family. By this universal family feeling, the common people will feel united, and there will not be any negative side effects. This will be unity in the proper sense of the term. So this is Baba's answer for how to bring people together and at the same time overcome fear psychosis due to negative political chicanery. Again the answer is: Instill a sense of universal family feeling.

Fear due to defective lifestyle

Unfortunately, in the top, so-called first-world materialistic countries, fear is not just imposed by those political leaders. But it also has gotten infused deep within the public's mind-set. The way they breathe, eat, sleep, drink, work, and play is all riddled with one gigantic fear complex.

Because as Baba points out there are four basic guiding philosophies: God-centered, self-centered, matter-centered, and dogma-centered. And those in capitalist countries are primarily governed by a self-centered, materialistic outlook. And in that case the whole basis of their life is resting on shaky ground.

Because they think that their money, prestige, name, and fame will save them from all the difficulties and hardships of life. So in that case they try to collect more and more of those material and superficial things. They stuff their ego and their bank accounts with those transient things-- thinking that will protect them. But in true sense those skin-deep items can never provide them with a permanent shelter. Money, beauty, jewelry all come and go. They do not last forever. And this is their practical experience also. So those people live in constant fear-- always scared and wondering when they are going to lose those things. This is their ongoing fear. Thus what they are depending on as their shelter does not provide them any relief, rather it multiplies their fear, troubles, and worries.

Solution: vaera'gya

Here following is Baba's remedy for fear-burdened people in capitalist countries who are wrongly basing their lives on the fleeting fancies of the day.

Baba says, "...Vaera'gya meva'bhayam'."

Ananda Marga ideology says, "The practice whereby we develop detachment from finite objects, i.e. the discipline whereby the mind is not influenced by the attractions of worldly objects is Vaera'gya Sa'dhana'. The true Cosmic Entity is only revealed to people with this Vaera'gya. This Cosmic Entity alone is the basic shelter of the human beings. It is a strong foundation which shall not, at any time forsake them leaving him forlorn. In this very Cosmic shelter you can establish yourself fearlessly for all time to come." (4)

Thus by taking sheltering in Parama Purusa - and not in the glitters of materialism - one will permanently be freed of all types of fears etc.

Way to move ahead

Baba has provided us with the precise recipe to overcome and cure all the major fear complexes of the day. In that case, everyone can courageously move ahead in life, not worried about the past, present or future, and not scared about imposed fears or imaginary things.

Ananda Marga ideology says, "Be free from all complexes, and move along the path of righteousness with a balanced mind, with mental equilibrium and mental equipoise. A bright future awaits you." (5)

How a fear complex dismantles the mind

Here Baba describes step by step how fear complexes ruin one's psychic flow.

Ananda Marga ideology says, "The psychological side of the fear complex is as follows: Due to the presence of something stronger, or due to the presence of something which is imaginarily stronger, not actually stronger, what happens? Mental flows are blocked, are choked. They cannot find the proper avenue of expression; as a result of which thoughts also get polluted. There cannot be free thinking. A man suffering from a fear complex cannot think properly...So you must never suffer from any sort of fear complex." (6)

Our God-centered approach

Here Baba guides us what we should base our lives on: Parama Purusa. This will allow us to overcome and eradicate any fear complex or difficulties and enable us to live a life of peace and prosperity, deeply ensconced in His blissful flow.

Ananda Marga Caryacarya says, "Everything requires a base; if life does not have a strong base, it is disrupted by an ordinary storm. Brahma is the strongest base." (7)

Whole existence is dancing

Prabhat Samgiita Intro: This following song depicts how the arrival of Parama Purusa transforms the whole scene. In the flower garden the birds are singing more sweetly, and the bumblebees are whispering to the flowers about the arrival of Parama Purusa. In the clouds, rain, and thunderstorms, there is an expression of joy and enthusiasm. Everything is charged with positivity. When the mind is in a blissful state with bhakti then everything looks beautiful. Here the bhakta feels that in the heart the most charming Parama Purusa has appeared and in result everything is dancing in ecstasy.

"Áj pákhirá kii gán gáiá jáy, phúlero vanete bhramará nibhrite,
kii kathá ájike shonáte cáy..." (Prabhat Samgiita #0364)

Purport:

Which songs do the birds keep singing today? In the flower garden, what does the bumblebee secretly wish to convey today? It looks like they are talking about the Supreme Charmer, Parama Purusa.

Why does the thunderbolt clamour with overwhelming joy in the heavy clouds amidst torrential rain showers. For whom is the thrilled lightning flashing with its bolts streaking across the sky. It looks like they are happy because the Supreme Entity has come.

Who is sitting in my heart making my whole existence dance with ever new tunes. Today, I see the Lord appear before me in a beautiful and most attractive mohan form. He is full of mamata - extreme affection towards me. Seeing Him my heart is dancing...

Note For Prabhat Samgiita #0364:

Mamata': Mineness; In Sanskrit “mama” = mine, and the suffix ta’ = -ness; hence “mineness.” To have equal or more love for something / someone than one has for oneself.

Ananda Marga ideology says, "What is the meaning of “mamatá”? Mama + tá = mamatá. Mama means “mine” and thus mamatá is the inner idea of being mine, the feeling that something is my own." (1)

Ananda Marga ideology guides us, "“Mamatá” means “mine-ness” – “Mama” means “one's own”, and the abstract noun derived from it is “mamatá” – meaning, thereby “mine-ness.”" (2)

For example, suppose you are suffering from a fever then naturally you will be concerned about your own health. You will try to cure yourself by going to the doctor and taking medicine etc. If you have mamata for someone else, then if they are sick with a fever you will have the same degree of care for their condition as your own. When one does sadhana then this sense of mamata grows and one ultimately has the feeling of mamata towards the entire created universe. Without sadhana, one’s sense of mamata will be extremely limited whereby one might only care about their own individual existence. So when the mind is extremely narrow one only has mamata for oneself. Those with a slightly broader mind have mamata towards their parents and family members. And as the circumference of mind expands one has mamata for other relatives and community members etc. However, it is only with sadhana that the periphery of mind can grow further and further wherein one’s sense of mamata includes all beings and expressions of this cosmos. Parama Purusa has mamata’ for each and every entity - this entire creation, all living and non-living expressions.

Insights into breathing

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "The process of breathing has a great influence on the human mind and self, or soul. Suppose a person is running: his or her breathing immediately becomes heavy. In that condition he or she cannot think properly; the sensory organs such as the tongue, nose, etc., cannot function properly, and as a result one's perception is impaired. Moreover, the process of breathing, depending upon whether the breath is flowing through the right nostril or the left nostril or both nostrils, influences people in various ways..."

"When doing a heavy job while breathing normally, a person might have serious difficulties – perhaps one's limbs might be broken – but in a state of baddha kumbhaka, or púrńa kumbhaka [with the lungs full], one can easily do the same work. While doing some over-strenuous activity in a state of shúnya kumbhaka [with the lungs empty] one might even die."

"Suppose you are climbing to a high place or lifting a very heavy load. If you do not follow the system of breathing while lifting the load, your hands may become painful or your bones dislocated. If you do the same work in a state of shúnya kumbhaka, you will have great difficulty – you may even collapse. If, on the contrary, you perform any strenuous activity in púrńa kumbhaka, taking a deep breath, you can easily do it. All this comes within the scope of that svaravijiṋána. You might have read in the Rámáyańa that Hanuman, by taking a deep breath, made his body swell and lifted a whole mountain. Although it is a mythological story, it refers to the science of svaravijiṋána." (1)

Shut down brain to observe this

Caryacarya states, “Shráddhánna: Shráddhánna (food offered at a memorial service) is neither priityanna nor ápadanna, hence it is not to be taken.” (1)

Note: In the wilderness when an animal dies a natural death then vultures come and eat that corpse. But in the case of humans, they are civilised and after death they should not host a party. Unfortunately, uncivilised people do so mindlessly. If somebody dies and the deceased was the sole breadwinner then those children will suffer a lot. In that case if the tradition is to host a grand feast at the time of death, then that penniless widow and those impoverished children will have to give up their food in order to feed those vulture brand humans, i.e. so-called friends and relatives, who coerce the family of the deceased to arrange a feast for them. That is why the dogma of feasting after death is not only inhumane but cruel also.

This nasty uncivilised way is rampant across the various religions. Since the birth of Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha, it stopped but again it was started after 1990 by some opportunistic crafty enemies of AMPS who are crawling around in the garb of avadhutas and sitting on higher posts. They created a death day ceremony and that is called….

And in that ceremony thousands of blind people go there shamelessly and do not use their brain. They do not know that their actions are prohibited by Caryacarya. Those participating in the annual death day ceremony or feast are committing unpardonable sin.
