Sad mahaprayan

Baba

Sad mahaprayan

Namaskar,

It is with much sadness to share the news of the mahaprayan of Shrii Radheshyam ji. His mahaprayan occurred some hours ago at 11:55am IST on 2nd July 2018.
Radheshyam ji was a devoted and dedicated Ananda Margii from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, India. The cremation will be held on 3rd July at 11:30am.

Radheshyam ji was a very kindhearted, loving, and generous person. He was always involved in sadhana, service, and sacrifice, ever-ready and active in first serving the greater society and those in most need.

With his mahaprayan, the entire Ananda Marga society of the world, and certainly here all local margiis of Bhopal, and especially his laokik family members will deeply miss Shrii Radheshyam ji. May we all take solace in the fact that our dear Radheshyam ji was a bhakta of Sadguru Baba. Certainly he will attain mukti or moksa, accordingly. Baba will lovingly bestow His infinite grace.

in Him,
Diindayal

Note: Alert for those cremating a dead body in India or Indian managed cremation homes around the world. Their custom is to put the burning fire /hot coals in the mouth of the deceased to initiate the burning of the body. This is prohibed in AMPS as it is uncivilised. So watch out do not allow this. If you are not careful they will end of doing it. Make them aware ahead of tim.

Ananda Marga Caryacarya states, "The practice of putting fire into the mouth of the dead body is repulsive, it should not be encouraged." (Caryacarya - 1, Disposal of the Dead Body)

~ In-depth study ~

We have seen that when somebody dies then in offering their condolences people say now Mr So-and-so is sitting on Baba's lap. On other occasions when telling a Baba story people also say, "Such and such person sat on Baba's lap." But these days the trend is that "sitting on Baba's lap" is used more in connection with death. And that causes some confusion in reader's mind. To unknot the situation please read below.

Dogma: if "on Baba's lap" only used for death

Here are quoted lines from recently posted emails on various forums, wherein the writer uses the phrase - "in Baba's lap" - with the occasion of death:
- "May Parama Purusa Baba accept her in HIS divine lap"

- "May his soul rest in the lap of our beloved BABA"

- "Now she is taking rest in Baba's Lap."

- "May Baba accept him in HIS divine lap....."

- "May he rest in HIS loving lap of eternity."

- "We are sure that Baba has taken him in His loving lap."

- "May his soul rest in Baba's lap forever."

- "Let her rest peacefully in Baba's Lap - which she always desired."

- "now he is in beloved Baba's lap"

- "May his soul get peaceful place in His lap"

- "He is now in Bábá's loving lap"

- "May Baba bless him with a seat in His lap."

- "May BABA accept him in HIS divine lap!"

- "May Baba take him in his eternal loving lap."

- "May his soul rest in peace taking shelter in Baba's lap."

- "Please keep him on Your lap forever."

- "We all collectively pray to Baba to take him on Baba's divine lap forever.”
All of the above lines are commonly written in eulogizing the deceased. These days mostly it is used in a eulogy and rarely used to recount one's intimate spiritual experiences - unfortunately. By this way, the phrase "in Baba's lap" is being misused and step by step the real meaning is being forgotten as now people more commonly use the phrase to eulogize those who have died, and much less so to express their inner feelings of bhakti. Unfortunately, the meaning and inner spirit of the phrase is getting lost.

Baba story: "sitting on Baba's lap"

Some time ago after dharmacakra, a senior margii was recounting his experiences of having dharma samiiksa with Baba. He said, "After being lovingly scolded by Baba for my wrongdoings, then He called me close and placed me on His lap - I remained there for some time soaking up His love - and He blessed me."

We all enjoyed hearing about his personal account with Baba during dharma samiiksa. When he finished telling his factual and historical event, there was a call for questions. Various people posed their queries. Towards the end, one new margii raised his hand and asked, "How did Baba bring you back to life?"

Everyone stared at the new margii in amazement. There was a look of astonishment all around - people were really shocked to hear him say this. The new sadhaka sensed that something was wrong He said very matter-of-factly, "I thought that sitting on Baba's Lap means that he (the margii) died - that is why I asked that question."

This was quite eye-opening for those of us in the room: Through our language and expression we had unknowingly taught someone to think that being on Baba's lap is the equivalent of death. Because it seems that nowadays people only use the phrase "Baba's lap" when a person has died, such as "Let him rest peacefully in Baba's lap", as if in order to sit on Baba’s lap one has to die. But that is false. Sincere sadhakas regularly sit on Baba’s lap in their meditation. It is His grace. It is just like a child need not die in order to sit on his father’s lap.

The idea is that this phrase - Baba's lap - has been linked with death due to extreme overuse. So for some time if sadhakas use this phrase exclusively for spiritual purposes, that will be best. The phrase, "sitting on Baba's lap", should not meet a similar fate. It should not lose its pure spiritual quality and just refer to one's death. That will be very negative.

Baba would bless bhaktas and place them on His lap

There are tens of thousands of recorded stories by sadhakas where they use the phrase, "on Baba's lap", when describing their experiences of being with Baba: He used to bless them and bring them on His lap. People should understand the deeply mystical value of this expression, and not just think that Baba's lap means death, i.e. that you can only sit on His lap at the time of death. Still today there are thousands of margiis walking this earth who sat in Baba's lap. And not only that, there are countless more sadhakas who were blessed by Baba in dreams and sadhana wherein they sat in His lap. And still today this deeply intimate experience is attainable by sadhakas, by His grace.

There are so many ways an aspirant can reach unto Baba's lap including in sadhana. That is the main idea that should be preserved. Sadhana is a spiritual practice and one can sit on Baba's lap in sadhana. We should make it cent-per-cent clear to one and all that the phrase, "sitting on Baba's lap", does not mean death.

"Mahaprayan" means death of mortals - confirm for yourself
from the Samsad Bengali-English Dictionary

Mahaprayan (Death): Many are aware that mahaprayan (death) is the common term used in India and especially in our Bengal to describe the death of any human being, even ordinary people. In that way, the obituary columns of the newspapers of Bengal regularly cite the mahaprayan (death) of various persons of society who died or passed away.

Some may get confused and wrongly think that the word 'mahaprayan' (death) is one extraordinarily term of bhakti to be used in association with Parama Purusa. But that is not at all the case. Rather to do so is only to undermine the eternal presence of Parama Purusa. That is why no bhaktas ever use the word 'mahaprayan' in reference to Lord Shiva or Lord Krsna. Because Lord Shiva and Lord Krsna exist eternally. Then there is no question of Their mahaprayan (death).

Baba is Parama Purusa so He is eternal and there is no question of His mahaprayan.

Here it should be known that the convention of an annual death day ceremony (i.e. shraddhainjali or mahaprayan) is a foundation of the Islamic tradition. Muslims are well known for this, and their approach of an annual death day ceremony was adopted by the leader of a particular group in AMPS. So no one should think that mahaprayan is some type of sacred event. It is done on the death day anniversary of Muslims.

And for those who need still more technical proof then all this can be clarified quite readily by referencing the dictionary. Specifically in the Samsad Bengali-English             dictionary 3rd edition on page 848. Checking there it will be confirmed that the word 'mahaprayan' means death. Which is why it is used to refer to the passing away of even common citizens. And that is the case in this letter also. The term mahaprayan means death and this is the ideal term for this purpose.

Mahaprayan is only for humans not for Sadguru

Here it should be qualified that there is both real mahaprayan and fake mahaprayan. Real mahaprayan marks the death of any ordinary human being, just like the aforesaid news. This is the proper use of the term: To note a person's departure from this earth. That is the meaning of the mahaprayan term and that is the standard way the term is used in Indian languages.

Then there is the fake, or so-called, or dogmatic mahaprayan. That is when certain vested interests try to apply the mahaprayan term to Parama Purusa. This is grossly inappropriate because when Parama Purusa Sadguru Baba is that Divine Entity who is beginningless and endless and resides always in our heart, then it is entirely wrong to proclaim that He is gone.

That is why rational margiis are protesting; because the Oct 21st program is so-called mahaprayan. So-called means that something is fake. Parama Purusa is eternal, thus for some vested interests to declare "mahaprayan of Parama Purusa" is nothing but so-called mahaprayan.

Mahaprayan only really happens in the case of human beings, not Parama Purusa. Those doing mahaprayan for Sadguru are hypocrites. On the one side in meditation they ask His grace thinking that He is ever-present, and on the other side they think that Baba has passed way. That is their hypocrisy.

Carcinogenic style of cooking + 3 more

Baba

Carcinogenic style of cooking

Namaskar,

As Ananda Margiis, we do not eat indiscriminately. We are careful about the foods that go into our body, i.e. what to eat and what not to eat. As we know, Sadguru Baba's teaching is that food not good for the body and mind is tamasik.

Ananda Marga Caryacarya states, "Támasika áhára: All kinds of foods which are harmful to either the body or mind and may or may not be harmful to the other are called támasika." (1)

Ingredients are sentient but food is tamasik

Unfortunately, nowadays, due to the method of preparation and technological developments, there are many foods that seem to be sentient but are tamasik. All the ingredients are sentient but the style of preparation itself makes that food harmful to the body. The following research work details how many plant-based foods that are pan-fried or deep-fried in oil cause cancer in the body. In the heating process, a toxic, cancer-causing agent - known as acrylamide - is created.

Basically, this carcinogenic toxin (i.e. acrylamide) is the result of combining carbohydrate or starchy foods with oil and high heat. So this triangle of variables - (a) carbohydrate, (b) oil, and (c) high heat - is dangerous to health. It is tamasik and dangerous to the body; it is cancer-forming.

Most snack foods (chips etc), roasted nuts, toasted breads, all deep fried foods, and oven-roasted foods fall in this category. Countless company produced foods are carcinogenic category. Those foods look like they are sentient by the ingredients list, but they are actually tamasik. See link below for a full list. In addition, many foods cooked at gatherings, festivals, and melas - and even in our own homes - are also made in this way. They are tamasik as they contain cancer-causing agents.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Some Ananda Margiis creating this toxic chemical

In certain countries of the world the general cooking style creates this very toxic effect. For instance, in places like India, it is common to take a ladle of oil and put it in a pan along with spices like ginger, cumin, coriander, chili etc. And they bring this up to a high degree of heat. Then those fried spices and the oil are placed in a cooked pot of pulses (beans.) And other times the oil and spices are fried along with starchy vegetables like potato etc. Both of these approaches yield cancer causing toxins, i.e. acrylamide. So that food is very harmful to the body and verily tamasik. Everyone should beware because this happens at some of our Ananda Marga functions as well as in the general society.

Regardless of one's geographical area, if one does like this then it is carcinogenic. In other areas of the world where people have easy-access to an oven, they often roast vegetables, breads, potatoes etc with oil. This roasting process also yields the carcinogenic property, acrylamide. These oven-roasted foods are also tamasik as they are extremely harmful to the body.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Is your style of cooking carcinogenic?

As Ananda Margiis, there may be some or many of us preparing foods that give rise to this toxic chemical. Many have learned the Indian style of frying vegetables and breads as well like lucci, paratha. And then many in overseas areas may roast starchy vegetables or carbohydrates on a regular basis. All such approaches are cancer-causing and indeed tamasik as they are harmful to the body.

So we have to be careful. Because even though all the ingredients are sentient, the mix of oil and carbohydrate (rice, potato, noodles, bread etc) with high heat makes that food toxic and carcinogenic, and hence tamasik as well.

To be very clear about this please read these following sections about fried-food preparation. If you are doing any of these below processes then that food is going to be carcinogenic.

What are fried foods

Frying is the cooking of food in fat. This takes several forms, from deep-frying, where the food is completely immersed in hot oil, to sautéing where food is cooked in a frying pan where there is only a thin coating of oil. Frying is the fastest way to cook, as it is the most efficient way to transfer heat into the food. Despite using liquid oil, frying is considered to be a dry cooking method as water is not used in the cooking process and ideally the cooking oil will not be absorbed by the food, thus no moisture is added by cooking. This manner of cooking is tamasik as it is carcinogenic and harmful to the body.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

What are pan fried or sauteed foods

Pan frying is a form of frying characterized by the use of minimal cooking oil or fat (compared to shallow frying or deep frying); typically using just enough oil to lubricate the pan (although, in the case of a greasy food such as bacon, no oil or fats may be needed). As a form of frying, pan frying relies on oil as the heat transfer medium and on correct temperature and time to retain the moisture in the food. Because of the partial coverage, the food must be flipped at least once to cook both sides. Those who cook foods in this way should understand that this style of preparation is tamasik, as it yields the cancer-causing toxin acrylamide.

What is shallow frying

Shallow frying is an oil-based cooking technique. It is typically used to prepare fried foods such as fritters. Shallow frying can also be used to cook vegetables. Shallow-fried foods are often battered. It is a high-heat process, promoting browning and, in some cases, a Maillard reaction. Since the food is only partly submerged, it must be turned over partway through the cooking process. Some cooks recommend cooking the "presentation" side of the food first, since this side will be better browned. This type of frying also makes food tamasik.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

What is deep frying

Deep frying is a cooking method in which food is submerged in hot fat e.g. oil. This is normally performed with a deep fryer or chip pan; industrially, a pressure fryer or vacuum fryer may be used.
Deep frying is classified as a dry cooking method because no water is used. Due to the high temperature involved and the high heat conduction of oil, it cooks food extremely quickly.

Overheating or over-using the frying oil leads to formation of rancid-tasting products of oxidation, polymerization, and other deleterious, unintended or even toxic compounds such as acrylamide (from starchy foods).

Deep fried foods are all tamasik as the oil and heat and starchy food substance gives rise to the cancer-causing toxin acrylamide. Yet, deep-fried food is readily found in most parts of the globe. So we should be careful and strict not to give way to this tamasik style of eating.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Easy simple solutions: steam or boil food

As big a problem as it may seem, there is a clear-cut solution. And verily, human ingenuity will certainly give rise to many new ways of preparing foods in the future. For the present moment, some excellent and safe methods are to boil or steam your food, or simply eat it raw. If oil is used, then put a small amount on your food after it has already been cooked. Do not heat the oil. These are some very easy and simple solutions to this pervasive issue.

We should all bear in mind that cancer is a deadly disease. We should strictly avoid those foods which are carcinogenic, i.e. cancer causing. That means all kinds of fried and roasted foods should be avoided as they are tamasik. Many die of cancer each year so we should take utmost care to avoid foods that contain this toxic chemical - acrylamide.

Conclusion

As Ananda Margiis, we should be pioneers in the field of health and well-being. Yoga is at the pinnacle of human health. As disciples of Sadguru Baba, we have been blessed with all the best life practices for physical, mental, and spiritual progress. So we should be keenly aware about this pitfall of company foods and home frying etc. That means understanding how acrylamide is formed and avoiding those foods and cooking style that produce it.

Here below is the news article followed by a link to many of the popular foods that contain the tamasik, cancer-causing toxin known as acrylamide.

Food & Drug Administration (FDA):
Avoid acrylamide in fried foods due to cancer risk

By: Michelle Castillo - November 18, 2013
Courtesy of: CBS News

The Food and Drug Administration is warning people to cut down on acrylamide, a chemical linked to cancer that can form in plant-based, starchy foods when they are cooked in high-temperatures like when baking or frying.

Foods that contain acrylamide include French fries, coffees, crackers, toasted breads and dried fruits, according to the FDA.

The chemical is created from sugars and an amino acid that is normally found in food. The Grocery Manufactures Association explains that acrylamide is mostly found in plant products that have the "browning Maillard reaction," meaning the food gets a different flavor, texture or color when heat is applied. Typically the browner the item when cooked, the more acrylamide the food item contains.

The Grocery Manufactures Association adds that acrylamide has been found in the human diet ever since people cooked via baking, grilling, roasting, toasting and frying food items. It can be found in 40 percent of the calories consumed in the average American diet, the FDA pointed out.

Scientists only discovered the compound in 2002, so research on the chemical is relatively new. Acrylamide has been linked to higher rates of cancer in animals, leading health officials to believe that it may be a carcinogen for humans as well.

Boiling or steaming food does not form acrylamide, so when possible, heating your food with those methods may be ideal.

Since frying causes the chemical to form, it is best to follow manufacturers' recommendations on time and temperature when making fried foods. Do not overcook or overcrisp the items.

When making potato products, cook them to a golden yellow color rather than a brown color. Potatoes should also not be stored in the refrigerator, which can increase the amount of acrylamide that forms when the item is cooked. Potatoes should be kept in a dark, cool place like a closet or pantry, the FDA says.

Bread should be toasted to a light brown color instead of a dark brown color, and very brown areas should not be eaten.

The FDA also recommends eating plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains and fat-free or low-fat milk items. Lean meats, poultry, fish, beans, eggs and nuts are also recommended.

When choosing other foods, it's always best to go with foods low in saturated fats and trans fats, which can raise "bad" LDL cholesterol and lower "good" HDL cholesterol, as well as increase your risk for a heart attack. Eating items low in cholesterol, sodium and added sugars is also a plus.

Close with the resonance of omkara

"Gáner tarii bhásiye dilum surer ságare..." (Prabhat Samgiita #0753)

Purport:

Baba, by Your grace I am floating the boat of the song in the ocean of the tune. I am doing my sadhana and am ensconced in Brahmabhava. It is Your krpa. Today I feel that no one is alien; all are my close. Everybody is mine.

Up till now I could not get that Parama Purusa who expresses Himself, always and everywhere, in various colours and forms. This morning that very Supreme Entity came close with the resonance of omkara. He came before me and allowed me to hold Him.

The song of omkara could not be practiced up till now; I could not play it with the strings of my viina. Yet this very day that same melody has told me, "I am living alone in a charming world of cosmic maya. Don't You recognise?”...

About Prabhat Samgiita #0753:

[1] Omnkara: In this below quote, Baba is describing how a sadhaka gets pulled headlong towards Him once they hear that divine sound, onmkara. It is all due to the grace of the Supreme.

Ananda Marga philsoophy says, "The spiritual aspirant hears the various sounds of onm'ka'ra or pran'ava At various stages, during deep sa'dhana', during sweet sa'dhana'. The sound is called muraliidhvani. The sa'dhaka becomes mad because of this sound and goes deeper and attains Ra'dha' bha'va more and more, and rushes headlong forward....At that time one does not think at all about what people will say. One knows only that 'I and my Is't'a exist'." (1)

Hurting religious sentiments vs rational discussion

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "You should be careful not to hurt the religious sentiments of others, even if in the future most people become A'nanda Ma'rgiis. Deities should be preserved in museums, and temples should be restored to maintain the cultural and historical heritage of the country." (1)

Note: In the past and nowadays also, during communal riots vandals attacked and destroyed temples, mosques, and synagogues etc. This type of thing was common in India during the Muslim invasion. And most parts of the globe have witnessed this. People senselessly destroy the symbols and structures of other religions.

Some years ago, the Taliban blew up the biggest Buddha carving in the world which had been made into a mountainside in Afghanistan. Recently in Syria, terrorists have been doing doing the same thing, i.e. desecrating and destroying religious treasures and shrines. Such types of hate crimes occur both on the collective level and also in individual life. If someone hates another religion they will destroy those religious artifacts etc. They break the neck or nose of various statues, or crush them into dust - thereby hurting the religious sentiments of others. This type of senseless and destructive behaviour is not acceptable. Ananda Marga philosophy does not support this in any way.

Naive people get confused

At the same time, no one should think that open, rational discussions about religious beliefs is not allowed. Unfortunately some naive people get confused and think that genuine ideological discussion between the religions is also forbidden. But that is not true. Respectful logical discussion aimed at pointing out the loopholes is appropriate. That has nothing to do with hurting the religious sentiments of others.

For instance, one can openly discuss religious dogmas like casteism, heaven and hell, or namaz etc. Such topics can be examined morally and philosophically - and discussed. It only crosses the line when one openly abuses the peoples of that religion by taunting them that, "Your forefathers were stupid for worshiping the sun, moon, monkey, cross, crescent moon etc." That contravenes our code or ethic.

As Ananda Margiis, we should not suppress or eliminate the various legacies and traditions of different peoples and communities. All should be honoured and respected and taught the ways of neo-humanism. At the same time we should bear in mind that an open, respectful, rational discussion about religious tenets is encouraged.

Sin of Savitananda + 3 more

Baba

Sin of Savitananda

Note: A basic ingredient to understand this letter is bhakti. Devoid of bhakti this difficult letter will be unintelligible.

Namaskar,

Bhagavan is only comprised of six attributions - which any human can attain - while Parama Purusa is so much more than that.

Ananda Marga ideology guides us, “The combination of all these six attributes [aeshvarya, viirya, yasha, shrii, jiṋána and vaerágya] is called bhaga, and he who is the owner of this bhaga, that is, he who is owner of these six attributes, is called bhagaván. By sádhaná an ordinary man can become bhagaván – after acquiring bhaga, these six attributes.” (1)

Taraka Brahma is above bhagavan

As we know, there are many bhagavans and it is explained in Ananda Marga philosophy that by their sadhana Buddha, Mahaviira, and Shankaracarya became bhagavan. Yet Bhagavan Buddha, Bhagavan Mahaviira, and Bhagavan Shankaracarya are not Mahasambhuti. Nor are they Parama Purusa. Bhagavan is anyone in human form who, by their sadhana and penance, gains those six attributions. They are: aeshvarya, viiryam, yasha, shrii, jina'nam, and vaera'gya.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Parama Purusa is far, far above that bhagavan

Baba is Parama Purusa not just bhagavan. For instance, when an ordinary sadhaka proceeds and reaches a higher stage, then he becomes iishvara. And when he does more sadhana and reaches the next higher stage he becomes bhagavan. And when bhagavan reaches the next higher stage he becomes one with Parama Purusa. So here is the key point to understand. At one time there may be thousands of bhagavans on this planet, or any planet, or throughout the universe etc, but regardless of the circumstances Parama Purusa cannot be two. Because He is the Supreme Controller. So it is obvious that bhagavan is lower.
  • sadhaka → iishvara; iishvara → bhagvan; bhagavan → (merges in) Parama Purusa
Baba is Parama Purusa and far superior than bhagavan. Throughout Ananda Marga literature, Parama Purusa is the main term used to refer to the Supreme Consciousness. Here the foundational attribution of Parama Purusa is the witness-ship of everyone and everything across all time and space. He is there covert in each and every entity - everywhere. And in so many discourses of Ananda Marga philosophy it is explained that Parama Purusa is the Supreme Witnessing Entity. By His own will He takes human form to liberate others.

Namaskar,
In Him,
Amar
Arthur Bloom

Bhagaván is lower than Parama Puruśa

Ananda Marga ideology states, “All the qualities that are present in Saguńa Brahma or Iishvara (Qualified Consciousness) are of course also present in Parama Puruśa, with some other qualities as well. So we see that Parama Puruśa is both Iishvara and Bhagaván, and something more than that.” (2)

~ In-depth study ~

Baba is Parama Purusa not just bhagavan. Some get confused and think that bhagavan, Parama Purusa, Mahasambhuti, and Taraka Brahma are one and the same. When talking about Ananda Marga philosophy it is important to understand the profound nuances and differences between these terms. And if one is writing an essay or publishing a book then one should be very careful to be philosophically accurate. And verily, every sadhaka should at least know these fundamental concepts and understand how Ananda Marga philosophy uses these terms. For propagating Ananda Marga philosophy, doing pracara, and helping others onto the path of spirituality this basic knowledge is highly necessary.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

The Supreme Consciousness is one singular Divine Entity - which we refer to as Parama Purusa. Then in His role as Taraka Brahma He is the tangential point of Saguna Brahma and Nirguna Brahma, and when that Entity known as Taraka Brahma wishes to come in human form He is Mahasambhuti. In a nutshell, that is the relationship between Parama Purusa, Mahasambhuti, Taraka Brahma. Baba is that  Taraka Brahma. Yet all three appellations refer to the same singular Supreme Entity, Parama Purusa. In stark contrast, the terms Bhagavan and Iishvara are completely different. This creation is thought-projection of Parama Purusa - He creates this in His mind. In contrast, bhagavan is not the Creator of this universe but rather is one of the created beings.

Parama Purusa is the Creator of this universe, and Bhagavan is not. Baba is Parama Purusa not just bhagavan.

Any person who does sadhana can become a bhagavan. For instance Shankaracarya and Buddha did like this. They had to do sadhana and undergo all sorts of penance in order to achieve their status of bhagavan. In contrast Parama Purusa is Parama Purusa; He is the Creator of this universe. He does not need to do any sadhana. So it is obvious that bhagavan is inferior to Parama Purusa. Parama Purusa is the Supreme Witnessing Entity. He is beyond all the bondages.  So it is clear that bhagavan is beneath Parama Purusa.
  • sadhaka → iishvara; iishvara → bhagvan; bhagavan → (merges in) Parama Purusa
Baba is Parama Purusa, calling Him as bhagavan is sin. This sin has been committed by Margii N and Dada Savita’nanda, or Savitananda.

Who did this sin

The person who wrote the grossly misleading book "Bhagavan Anandamurti" is Narada Muni of our SUVA sector. He is the one whose faulty writing undermines and limits Baba's Supreme status, thereby exposing brother N's lower level of bhakti and poor philosophical understanding. Indeed, this book reveals brother N's overall psychic standard. Shockingly in the many years since it was first published he has never corrected or rectified this gigantic problem.

In a similar vein, Dada Savitananda has written a book in Hindi titled “Baba Bhagavan.” That is also sinful. He should have titled it as “Taraka Brahma Baba” or “Parama Purusa Baba”. As we know Dada Savitananda and Narada are both human beings so if we write that Dada S and Narada Muni are animals then that is denigrating to them. In that same way all know that Baba is Taraka Brahma and Parama Purusa so calling Him as bhagavan is denigrating His stature. It is so simple to understand. Of course I am not going to denigrate Dada Savitananda and Narada by calling them as animal. Although certainly Dada Savitananda and Narada denigrated Baba and that is most unfortunate, shocking, and sinful.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Most probably they committed this sin due to their sheer and utter lack of understanding of Ananda Marga philosophy. Various types of margiis and Wts have written about Baba with different motives. Some wrote with pure bhakti to glorify Baba and others wrote Baba stories as a means to boost their own image as being a great sage. If you read their books carefully, you will see that both Narada Muni and Dada Savitananda fall in this second group, i.e. this group of hypocrites that aim to glorify themselves.

Bhagavan is not Taraka Brahma

In a discourse from the book Namami Krsnasundaram, it is clearly explained that bhaga means the combination of six attributions: aeshvarya, viirya, yasha, shrii, jina'nam, and vaera'gya. So first that discourse illustrates what is meant by the term bhagavan - i.e. anyone who achieves the aforementioned six qualities. Then in a grand comparison, it gives an example how Taraka Brahma Parama Purusa is much more than this.

Suffice to say here that this type of divine guarantee of freeing one from sin cannot be given by those who are merely bhagavan. Such a proclamation guaranteeing the liberation of one's sins can only be given by the Parama Purusa Himself.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Only Parama Purusa can free you of sin

Here Ananda Marga philosophy is announcing the fact that Parama Purusa is not just a bhagavan. Because only the singular entity Parama Purusa can save people from their sins. No bhagavan can do that. Please read below.

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "Only Parama Purus'a can assure jiivas so unequivocally. This goes to show beyond any shadow of a doubt that He is not bhagava'na, but the veritable manifestation of divinity." (4)

Taraka Brahma is Supreme

Taraka Brahma is greater than all those other lesser entities like bhagavan.

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "A Maha'kaola is one who makes others kaola by his infallible spiritual guidance. But Ta'raka Brahma is a different Entity, a unique Entity for He is the spiritual preceptor, social preceptor, Kaola, and Maha'kaola, all in one. He is also something more: He acts as a compass in every stratum of society." (5)

As His disciples we are to propagate His divine stature and greatness.

Ananda Marga Caryacarya states, "The one formless, beginningless and infinite Parama Brahma (Supreme Consciousness) is the only entity to be attained by living beings - That alone is Jagat Guru (the Supreme preceptor), That alone has revealed Brahmavidya (intuitional science) to us through the medium of the name and form of Anandamurtijii. Unit beings must be made to appreciate Its majesty." (6)

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "Only Parama Purus'a can assure jiivas so unequivocally. This goes to show beyond any shadow of a doubt that He is not bhagava'na, but the veritable manifestation of divinity. He cannot be compared to either khan'da'vata'ra, am'sha'vata'ra or kala'vata'ra. They may be bhagava'na due to their possession of the six qualities, but none among them is the Supreme Entity." (7)

By sádhaná an ordinary man can become bhagaván – after acquiring bhaga, these six attributes.” (8)

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “The word bhaga plus the suffix matup gives us bhagavata; and the first person singular form of bhagavata is bhagaván. What does the word bhaga mean?”
Aeshvaryaiṋca samagraiṋca viiryaiṋca yashasah shriyah;
Jiṋána vaerágyayoshca tu śańńáḿ bhaga iti smrtam.
[Bhaga is a collection of six attributes: aeshvarya, viirya, yasha, shrii, jiṋána and vaerágya.]

The word bhaga implies six divine powers or abilities, or a collection of six kinds of Tantric powers or manifestations.“ (9)

Parama Purusa is Mayadhiisha, i.e. the Controller of maya, not mayadhiish, i.e. bound my maya. Only Parama Purusa lords over maya, while all those various bhagavans are firmly under maya's rule and control. So the infinite glory of Parama Purusa towers far above the position of bhagavan.

He is beyond comparison

Here it should be understood that Baba is Parama Purusa; He is the Taraka Brahma. His infinite Personality is infinite and beyond comparison. So why should one belittle Him by labeling Him as being just a bhagavan. When in clear-cut language Ananda Marga philosophy explains that His qualities go far beyond that of only bhagavan. Being the Parama Purusa certainly He possesses those few attributes of the limited stance of bhagavan, but He also has much more than that. So no one can say that He is just a bhagavan.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Indeed the limited nature of the term bhagavan is insufficient to encapsulate all of Baba's greatness. It falls far short of the mark. The bhagavan term utterly fails to represent Baba.

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "Those accepting Me as their final refuge, I will free from the bondage of sin. Their future is certainly glorious. No one need worry about their past. It is senseless to worry about atonement for past misdeeds...." (10)

Baba: make my heart full of bhakti

Note: Only those who sincerely practice the higher lessons of sahaja yoga meditation can understand this song in the depths of their heart.

"Ámár jiivane ámár paráńe, nrityer táler eso go, tumi..." (Prabhat Samgiita #0313)

Purport:

O’ Parama Purusa, please come in my life and in my heart with the tempo of dance. Leading the path of materialism, my life is full of sadness. Kindly manifest Yourself in my existence and fill my heart with joy, happiness, and bliss. O’ Supreme Entity, Baba, affectionately flash Your world-captivating, mind-intoxicating, heart-satiating, and charming smile, so I can forget everything and become ensconced in Brahma bhava.

O’ Parama Purusa, You are the touchstone. By Your wish, please transform my black, crude, aspiritual life into gold, full of bhakti. Be gracious and remove all my bad samskaras and make my being pure.

O’ Parama Purusa, Baba, I request You to flood my stagnant dirty pond with the flow of a distant, divine fountain. My mind is filled with a narrow, limited outlook - isms and dogmas; O’ Lord, please drench me with universalism and neo-humanism. By showering the spiritual flood of refulgence and eradicating all the dark miseries, dye my mind in Your exquisite, crimson radiance. Baba, inundate my heart with parabhakti - highest yearning for You.

Drowning in materialism, my life has lost all its charm; it is full of misery and sadness. Please come in my existence and make my life meaningful…

Ananda Marga ideology is on numerous planets

This is a brief English summary of the below Hindi teaching:
You should depend on the force of spirituality. That is what an intelligent person should do. And since the beginning that is what we have done. The “nucleus” [of Ananda Marga] is a small town and that nucleus remains the same, but the circumference is no longer limited to Jamalpur; it has spread not only across the entire globe but throughout various planets. And it is spreading more and more. Now remember that this Ananda Marga was made not by one or two but by thousands of righteous persons. From this DMC I [Baba] am bestowing Ananda Marga to the common people.
The above is a brief English summary of Baba’s below Hindi teaching.

Dogma about “Guru’s words”

Baba

Dogma about “Guru’s words”

Namaskar,

If you have read Baba’s books, attended dharmacakra regularly, or been around senior margiis and Wts etc, then you have probably heard the following shloka:
Mantramúlaḿ Gururvákyam
Meaning: Guru’s word is mantra
The question then arises what does this really mean and how, as sadhakas, do we apply this in our own lives. Here following are some points to consider.

Will not produce the desired effect, if….

#1: The basic sense is that Guru’s teachings are like a mantra. If anyone follows the spirit of His spiritual teachings then they will attain mukti / moksa, by His grace.

#2: Baba has presented His teachings in the form of His numerous discourses. To follow those teachings, a sadhaka should know the underlying spirit. Merely memorizing the words in a literal manner will not produce the desired effect. If one embraces the inner spirit of what Baba wishes to convey then that is everything.

#3: As Mahasambhuti, Sadguru Baba’s overall presentation was very dynamic. Sometimes Baba would joke, play dramas, scold, and deliver discourses etc. Through each of those avenues Baba would speak in a unique manner based on the circumstances. So following the literal word is not helpful. The key element is to understand the overarching idea Baba was expressing in every situation.

#4: Suppose Baba delivered an 30 minute discourse. Then the need of the day was to record it and transcribe it to know what Baba actually spoke. Using that as a platform, it is our duty as His disciples to garner the spirit of His teachings from that discourse by understanding it within the greater context of His teachings. Once that is achieved one will have mastery of that discourse and be able to explain and expound upon those teachings in numerous ways using a wide-ranging vocabulary. So the spirit more so than the literal word is what is important. Yet knowing the literal words at the outset is integral for comprehending the overall meaning and guideline.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Spirit of Guru’s teaching is the main thing

#5: Baba has given His teachings in multiple languages. And then we translate those teachings - using our own chosen words - into other languages. By this way, sadhakas from other linguistic backgrounds are able to understand that discourse. This furthermore shows that the overall spirit is the key aspect. Even if Baba spoke the entire discourse in Hindi, a sincere sadhaka who does not know any Hindi can understand exactly what Baba is conveying in that discourse, while a native Hindi speaker may not really understand that discourse even though they know every word. Again and again, it comes back to fact the spirit or essence of His message is what is most important. Mere literal understanding will not get you far.

#6: Baba’s teachings are not limited by a particular language or set of words. Actually, the inner meaning of His guidelines fail to be conveyed by words alone. Such is the limitation of language. A professor with a Ph.D. in philosophy may not be able to understand one of Baba discourses even though that discourse was given in his mother tongue because he lacked the mental capacity to embrace the underlying spirit of Baba’s teachings. Words are mere symbols and inadequate - in and of themselves - to convey all the subtleties of Baba’s eternal guidelines. Both sadhana and philosophical understanding are needed.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Conclusion

#7: If anyone follows the spirit - not the letter - of Sadguru Baba’s blessed teachings then they are assured of attaining mukti / moksa. That is what is meant by the sholka, Mantramúlaḿ Gururvákyam.

In Him,
Dharmamitra

Still suffering from 7000-year-old problem

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “The Sanskrit equivalent for marriage is viváha (vi – vah + ghaiṋ): it means, after the ceremony, the man and woman can no longer live as libertines or as irresponsible so-called family people. They have to discharge their full obligations as bharttá and kalatra, responsible husband and responsible wife.”

“Another Sanskrit equivalent for “woman” is nárii, which is feminine gender. But Shiva used the term kalatra, in the neuter; for to her husband a woman is a wife, but to her children and other members of the society, she is as dignified as her male counterpart. So by declaring a married lady to be kalatra, Shiva gave her special status, and addressed her in neuter terms.”

“The liberal meaning of the term viváha is “live one’s life in a new way with a special type of responsibility”. This is the underlying significance of the Shaeva system of marriage.”

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “In His life, Shiva Himself married with this commitment. We can say without the least hesitation that Shiva was the first person in this world to marry in the proper sense of the term..” (1)

Note: That which was common 7000 years ago has now again come into vogue: That same disease has become prevalent today. A huge percentage of people around the globe are leading libertine life - especially in the materialistic areas. They produce children and neglect to take any responsibility. They do not like to be bound in conjugal relations and shoulder the responsibility of helping the child. The ones who suffer the most are the children and the mother. Often such children wind up in foster care - mentally and physically scarred. It is a serious crisis - watch out. Where capitalism is growing that disease will spread. Our duty is to propagate this teaching - if we bring even one libertine onto the path of responsibility then at least to some small degree the problem is solved.
