Key tool for sadhakas + 3 more

Baba
Key tool for sadhakas

Namaskar,

Multiple times through the course of each day we should involve ourselves in introspection: Review the entirety of our conduct and compare it with Ananda Marga ideology. By that way, we can see how we are doing. Throughout all movements in life, we should do self-analysis and ensure we are heading in the right direction.

Without introspection and these other avenues - Sixteen Points chart, svadhyaya, benevolent guide, satsaunga etc - invariably people fall away from the path, misusing their existence in degrading pursuits. Unfortunately, they revert back to animality and in the future they will get a body accordingly. They may become an animal or even worse.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

The situation is serious, and the best way to keep abreast of the matter is to perform introspection and review one’s course of actions. With an unbiased mind, carefully analyse your modus operandi in life. One must ask themselves: “Do my actions reflect Baba's divine teachings? Is my daily conduct guided by ideology?” Depending upon how many times the answer is "no", that is the degree to which one is going against human dharma.

Realising Parama Purusa within

It is essential to bear in mind that this life is an opportunity to realise Parama Purusa within. That means wholeheartedly embracing Ananda Marga ideology and crossing the ocean of maya. That is the proper use of this human machine or human body, and those who achieve this are truly blessed.

Proper utility of human life

In His discourse, "Utilize All Your Potentialities" (21 April 1969 morning, Manila), Baba guides us that if we have a tractor and a big lot of land then we are foolish and ignorant if we do not use the tractor and let the land become overgrown and unusable. Our job is to use the tractor to make the land arable. That is the proper use of the tractor.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Similarly, this human body is a tool or a machine for attaining Parama Purusa. Yet, commonly people misuse their bodies for indulgent pursuits. Many get lured towards the lower propensities. In that case, they are going to degenerate and miss the great opportunity to attain godhood and merge with Parama Purusa.

As sadhakas we should (a) regularly review our code of conduct, (b) ensure we are moving on the path of ideology, and (c) use our machine for attaining Parama Purusa. Just sitting back and letting life go by is not the way. We are to utilise this life for realising Him. For this, introspection is an essential tool. In that process, we can see how far our intentions and actions are ideological. Are we doing what we should be doing. That is how we can ensure our human existence is being used properly.

Conclusion

As followers of Ananda Marga, we have been blessed with a wonderful opportunity. We should not waste it and degrade back into animal life - goaded by instincts and baser propensities. Ours is a human march meant for the expression of ideology. Regular introspection enables one to stay on track. That is the best utilisation of this human life - freeing oneself from the noose of maya and attaining Parama Purusa.

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "Then who can get Parama Purusa? They say it is very, very easy. What to do? “O Lord, I am Your creation. I am Yours, I am at Your disposal. This body is a machine. Utilize it.”" (1)

By surrendering to Parama Purusa and doing His work, one is sure to overcome the trappings of maya and delve inside to the Supreme stance. That is what happens when one leads a life based on ideology. And that is the best use of this human life.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "You have got a human body. Make the best utilization of it. Forget everything of the past from this very moment...Go on working in such a way that you give your proper worth to society, and you bring about the actual evolution of humanity. Be a devotee of humanity as well as a devotee [bhakta] of Parama Purus'a. Let victory be with you." (2)

One will feel His presence

Having a strong, dharmic, and benevolent guide is a boon for every sadhaka. The unparalleled, greatest guide is having Taraka Brahma as the Guru. Then one is truly blessed. With a pointed mind one will feel His presence.

When a strong dharmika is watching over your growth, that guide will keenly view your each and every action and ensure your diet, dealing and overall code of conduct are proper. Some acaryas do this with their initiates.

But really speaking this aspect is truly lacking these days. As the standard of many acaryas is lower, and they themselves are falling into problem, then how can they justly point out and watch over someone else's progress.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Great value of strong & dharmic guide

Having a strong, dharmic, and benevolent guide is a boon for every sadhaka. The unparalleled, greatest guide is having Taraka Brahma as the Guru. Then one is truly blessed. All know that as Mahasambhuti Baba kept sadhakas firm to the path through dharma samiiksa, reportings, and personal contact, etc. Baba benevolently pointed out one's wrongdoing in the spirit of universal welfare. By that way, countless sadhakas were directly benefited. And still today He is personally watching and guiding us in various ways. When the mind is in a spiritual flow, one will surely feel His presence.

Following Guru’s guidelines like introspection, 16 Points chart, and svadhaya are essential for a sadhaka. In addition, when a strong dharmika is watching over your progress, that guide will help ensure your overall code of conduct is proper. Some acaryas do this with their initiates. But really speaking, this aspect is mostly lacking these days. Sadly, the standard of acaryas is in decline, and when they themselves are involved in degrading activities, then how can they properly point out and watch over someone else's progress. Parents, teachers, and friends can fulfill this role but wherever materialism crops up then that type of bond is broken as people become selfish, debased, and disinterested in dharmic conduct. Thus all around there is an extreme dearth of proper guides.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

The cream of spiritual life is to wholly surrender at His lotus feet and take Sadguru Baba as the Supreme Guide in each and every action in life. There is no other way.

Reason for not creating another God

In this darshan, Sadguru Baba raises the query why Parama Purusa cannot make or create another omnipotent Entity. Then in response, one margii says that if Parama Purusa creates 2, 5, or 10 omnipotent entities then those omnipotent entities might create even more. In that case, there will be a plethora of omnipotent entities and some of them may cause huge chaos - even making or destroying the entire creation. That is why Parama Purusa cannot make a second omnipotent entity. That is the basic idea of what the margii says in the below section and Baba accepts the overall spirit of the  margii’s response.

[Baba says] “For the sake of His omnipotency, He cannot create a second Parama Purus'a. Yes, right you are.”

[Baba says]  এইটা হল উত্তর |

[Baba says] “For the sake of His omnipotency, in order to maintain the dignity of His omnipotency, He cannot create a second Parama Purus'a. So, it is not ultravarious to the spirit of omnipotency.” (1)

How religions suffocate humanity

Ananda Marga ideology guides us, "To stifle the progress of humanity, the followers of these religions play on human sentiments and other weaknesses. They want to perpetuate the hold of the vested interests by infusing an inferiority complex into the human mind. While preaching their religious ideas, some claim that the social, economic and political systems were direct creations of God and hence destined to be observed in all ages and all times with equal veneration. They pronounce that those who refuse to follow this divine decree will be doomed to burn in the scorching heat of God’s wrath, or dammed to suffer eternal hell-fire. To deny people the scope of verifying the rationality of different scriptures they declare that such-and-such scriptures are infallible and so nobody has the right to question their veracity. If the philosophical texts contradict the scriptures, then their propounders will be declared as atheists." (1)

Ananda Marga ideology states, "Through nityánitya viveka, human beings become aware of the fleeting nature of transient objects. They observe that with change in time, place and person, corresponding changes occur in social, political, economic, and all other spheres of life take to which they have to adapt themselves. Those who are reluctant to adapt themselves to the changed circumstances are doomed to destruction. A religion or an “ism” is created in a certain age which itself is a product of the three factors of time, place and person. However, the religion does not recognize the necessity of adjustment with the change in social life. It refuses to realize that the old rules and regulations of the previous age are now only mere historical records, having lost their relevance in the present dynamic society." (2)

Ananda Marga ideology says, "So it is seen that in the absence of nityánitya viveka the propounders of religion want to thwart the intellectual progress of human society at large. They knowingly refuse to understand that any observation regarding the spatial, temporal and personal factors, from whatever person it might come, is bound to lose its relevance in a transformed situation." Depraved condition of so-called chosen ones

Prout philosophy states, "There are many philosophies which tend to crudify the human mind, and make people violent and inconsiderate. They make people believe that they are God's favourite children, whereas the rest of humanity are cursed. Although these views have philosophical sanction, they do not have the sanction of the a'tman (soul)...Intellectually such people are certainly slaves, and in the material world also they are slaves." (1)

Note: This psychic disease is present in fundamentalist Jews, fundamentalist Christians, and fundamentalist Muslims etc. All are bad and guilty of this point, but especially the fundamentalist Jews and Muslims. They feel very negatively towards those who do not belong to their dogmatic beliefs. Muslims brand others as Quafir (demons) and Jews label non-Jews in their own derogatory language. According to Prout philosophy, the status of those fundamentalist Jews and Muslims is like slaves - intellectually and physically. Ways Divine Advent reveals Himself + 5 more

Baba
Ways Divine Advent reveals Himself

Namaskar,

From age to age when Taraka Brahma takes advent, He has His own special way of revealing His message - all depending upon the level of the society. That is why we see that each Divine Advent has a dramatically new approach for the establishment of His mission: All unveiled in His own unique manner.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Lord Krsna directly presented Himself to all

When Lord Krsna presented Himself on this earth then the society was in a different stage of development. The people were simple and needed to hear things in straightforward language. In that environment, Lord Krsna openly proclaimed that He is the Divine Entity - Mahasambhuti - and that He has come for a special purpose.

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "Krsna said in the Giita, as well as elsewhere, that all must follow the path shown by Him."

Mama vartmánu varttante manuśyáh Pártha sarvashah

"'If people resort to the path that I show they are sure to attain salvation in the end...I will liberate You'." (1)

And in another shloka Lord Krsna has proclaimed:

    Paritra'n'a'ya sa'dhu'na'm'...

"'I incarnate Myself in this world from age to age for the annihilation of the wicked and the protection of the virtuous'." (2)

Lord Krsna shared these divine messages with all who were around Him. And the common people of those days accepted and embraced His call.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Ways Baba offers a glimpse of Himself

Today's society is distinctly different - the standard is something else. This is reflected by Baba's vastly different approach from Lord Krsna's way. Rather than openly declaring His arrival in His reporting sessions, in this modern, more complicated era Baba has employed a multitude of ways and techniques for revealing Himself and putting forth His mission.

On the purely personal level, when relating intimately through His ota yoga with one particular sadhaka then Baba reveals Himself in a unique manner. Sometimes He shows Himself openly to bhaktas in the form of dreams or deep sadhana experiences. By these avenues, the sadhaka gets intuitional confirmation of His divine appearance. Or Baba might directly tell about His Cosmic Dance to one margii in PC, personal contact. And then to others Baba has discussed in the natural course of the day that He has come for some mission. Or He might raise the kundalini of one sadhaka and put them in a high state of samadhi.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Through all these types of personal approaches and through other various ways, Baba has lovingly called bhaktas near Him and revealed the fact of His divine arrival. Otherwise, how could people know about the auspicious advent of Mahasambhuti. Without any hint or glimmer of His divine appearance then one unit being could never fathom that the Great Cosmic Entity has taken human form.

Because when we are only unit beings with limited minds and when He is the Lord of the visible and invisible worlds then how could we fathom that all of this expressed creation and unexpressed universe resides in the nucleus of His mind. Without His grace, this is far beyond our conception. Hence, accordingly, He has blessed various aspirants - i.e. Ananda Margiis - by bringing them close to Him and revealing His identity.

Flying buffaloes, camels, & flying cows

So while through His ota yoga - yoga of individual association - Baba has personally awakened the consciousness of sadhakas and revealed His divine advent to them, in reporting, His ways of communication were distinctly different. For example, when the world came to see Him during the time of dharma samiiksa, then in various reportings Baba used to tell that, 'A flying cow or a flying buffalo came and told me this news.' So rather than telling openly that He is that Omniscient, Omnipresent Entity, Baba would use humour and interesting tales to express or point out the truth.

Thus when one person in a lonely place engaged in some negative act and if that individual never told anyone about this, then to correct that person's conduct Baba would say that, 'One flying pink lizard has told me...'. And then Baba would expose that person’s wrongdoing. Surely those understanding Baba's jokes knew that there was no flying buffalo or flying lizard etc. Just this was Baba's psychological way of expressing Himself in the reportings.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Certainly, we know Baba is the all-encompassing Witnessing Entity, and that nothing transpires in this universe without His awareness. Yet, for various reasons best known to Him, He chose not to reveal or openly proclaim in reporting who He was. Mostly likely because there were various standards of disciples and members of the society in His audience etc.

So the standard of society is different now than during the time of Lord Krsna's era. And the proof is that Baba does not reveal everything openly. Rather, He uses jokes like that of the flying buffalo, or some bird, or some crocodile etc to say what He wants to tell. Even then, His approach is not limited to this.

Bhaktas know those books are about Baba

In the philosophical realm, Baba has used the books "Nama'mi Krs'n'asundaram" and "Namah Shivaya Shantaya" as a way to project His A'nanda Ma'rga philosophy. So in the name of Lord Shiva and Lord Krsna, Baba has put forth all His views. In those books, He has revealed indirectly so many philosophical and spiritual treasures.

When describing Nandan Vijaina Baba is telling about Lord Krsna's beauty and charm.

    Apu'rba ta'r cokher ca'oya'....

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "His look is unique. The scent of His body is unique. His movement, coming and going, is unique...." (3)

In the above shloka, on the philosophical plane, it can be said that here Baba is talking about Lord Krsna. Yet in the practical sphere we all know that through countless demonstrations Baba has shown that He is the personification of all those divine beauties and charms. His scent is that of sweet sandalwood or flowers - and He makes others carry that scent as well. All these things He has done. So bhaktas understand that in the above shloka Baba is indirectly talking about Himself.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

And to satisfy those jinanis, He has given these books in such a way that they studied the books "Nama'mi Krs'n'asundaram" and "Namah Shivaya Shantaya" as a historical survey or philosophical discussion of Lord Krsna and Lord Shiva. However, in truth, Baba is indirectly telling about Himself and revealing all His beauties and grandeur and showing how one can get Him etc. That is why bhaktas just view those two books as the expression of Baba - Lord Shrii Shrii A'nandamurtiji.

About those shadowy figures

Plus in so many other discourses and books such as in His various short stories and Shabda Cayanika etc, Baba has revealed much about His own personal experiences and fathomless insights. In all these accounts, He regularly comes in contact with 'figures of light and shadow' who uncover all kinds of unique truths about this universe. So this is yet another way that Baba reveals His inner Self. And bhaktas can easily understand and feel this truth in their heart; but for jinanis He remains a mystery.

In Shabda Cayanika, Baba is also using this series as a way to put forth the truth about historical events and cultural phenomena that would otherwise be difficult to prove. But by using the voice of a so-called ghost or a luminous being, Baba can indirectly tell all that He wants to say. And sadhakas will get the inner truth and know how to apply that in today's world. Hence, books like Shabda Cayanika are another way of putting forth difficult to prove facts such that jinanis cannot object or argue and bhaktas understand that Baba is revealing the full veracity. One wonderful example of this is the story about Viresh Vijay in Shabda Cayanika where Baba tells about the special traits of great revolutionaries. And there are countless other wonderful depictions where Baba has beautifully revealed so many grand secrets and solved numerous historical puzzles etc.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Conclusion

As the Parama Purusa, Baba is ever-present: He was, is, and will always be. Today and even far and forever into the future, Parama Purusa will reveal Himself to those sadhakas with sincere longing for Him. It is wrong to think this was only possible for those in the past. Sincere sadhakas will always be able to ask for His grace and get Him. The spiritual science is not under the bondage of time, space, or person. It is beyond and eternal. Parama Purusa is always with all but because of stains in their mental plate people do not realise this truth; so Baba graciously removes those stains whereby sincere sadhakas can see that He resides in their inner-most self. Anywhere, anytime one can realise Him, by His grace.

So by all these ways - and numerous other avenues - we can understand that through various means Baba is uncovering the divine truth and revealing Himself and putting forth His Ananda Marga ideology.

Expresses Himself in so many magical displays

Here below in His story about those watching a magic act, Baba unveils the special way for knowing all the precious secrets of that magician.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Ananda Marga ideology states, "The magician wants people to witness the display. But what will the spectators or the intelligent persons amongst the spectators who want to join the magician's party, do? They will develop love for the magician and join the party. After joining the party, each and every secret of the magic will be known to them." (4)

So by watching Him and falling in love with His Supreme Self we can get everything - all the answers. Here below Baba colourfully reveals the inner truth of this vast Cosmic expression and graciously shows us how we can attain that Supreme stance.

    Ya evaeka udbhave sambhave ca'.

Ananda Marga ideology states, "The Creator of the universe is a Great Magician...All these magical expressions, magical displays, have their origin in Him. He expressed Himself in the form of so many magical displays. And it is that Magician who retains and nourishes the magically created objects; and finally those objects go back to the inner arena of that Magician." (5)

    Ya etadviduramrta'ste bhavanti'.

Ananda Marga ideology states, "That intelligent spiritual aspirant who comes in close contact with the Magician by dint of his extreme love for the Magician attains immortality." (6)

Plagiary?

It is the accepted international standard and Baba's system not to copy another's work and publish it in your own way. Baba has given a very strict rule on plagiarism. Why is Baba against plagiarism or stealing someone's work? There are many reasons:

1) It is against the code of asteya (non-stealing).

2) Countless stories of bhaktas need to be published. But some do not want to do the hard work of compiling and writing these stories, so they just steal them from others. But new stories need to be told, otherwise so many unpublished stories of sadhakas will be lost and forgotten forever. So watch out for story thieves, and kindly help them not to steal by posting on social media in their own way. If you want to forward this story then attach the following yellow section with the story:

Mind ensconced in bliss

“Tumi esechile dhya’nete a’ma’r, karun’a’ kare a’ma’ke…” (Prabhat Samgiita #4661)

Purport:

Baba, You came in my dhyána. It was only Your divine karuna’-– compassion on me. I had no strength of bhajans, kiirtana, japa, sadhana, 16 Points, or any virtue of spiritual deeds within me. Only I longed for You with one-pointed desire. Today, You came in my meditation in Your real form. It is only due to Your grand empathy for me.

Parama Purusa, age after age, to hold You, I was busy gathering oysters on the seashore unknowingly. I uselessly spent my entire life in animal deeds, remaining oblivious of You. Sitting there on the sandy shore, I wasted my time in vain pursuits - counting the stars, night after night.

Baba, finally You appeared in my dhya’na in a loving and smiling way. Sitting face to face, looking at me, You said, “Keep in mind this eternal truth. Those bhaktas who have heard the divine flute - the omnkara dhvani - have gotten everything. All the praise, insults, sorrow, loss and gain, and misery, pain, and suffering that happens in this world never burdens their life. Living in this world, their mind remains in the spiritual plane, always ensconced in bliss.”

Baba, You came in my dhya’na, pouring infinite anandam…

Note for Prabhat Samgiita #4661

[1] Karun'a': In the first stanza, the term karuna has been used. This is when one harbours a deep sense of empathy, is pained by another's suffering, and feels, "I should help them.” For example, suppose a beggar is wallowing in misery. By seeing his wretched condition, you felt, "I should help him and remove his agony.” This heartfelt feeling is the expression of karuna'.

Similarly, suppose a bhakta is suffering and unable to progress in the physical, psychic, or spiritual realms for any reason. In such circumstances, Parama Purusa cannot bear to watch that sadhaka suffer. He feels He must rescue them immediately. With His deep empathy and mercy, Parama Purusa removes their agony, so that once again that bhakta can progress in all realms of life. This entire liila is called His karun'a'.

Difference Between Krpa' & Karun'a'

In the case of karun'a', Parama Purusa is moved by a bhakta's suffering and comes forward to save that bhakta. Whereas with krpa' (grace), the bhakta is not suffering but even then Parama Purusa is bestowing His blessing.

It is just like if a beggar is sick and suffering half-naked in the freezing cold. If with great empathy a passerby selflessly helps that beggar without expecting anything in return, that is karuna’. Because the passerby is moved and motivated into action by seeing the beggar's suffering. In contrast, if a student is not sick, and that person just wishes to give the student a gift, then that is krpa’.

When out of empathy Parama Purusa lovingly comes to the aid of the suffering bhakta to relieve them of their spiritual strife, that is the karuna of Parama Purusa; and, if that same bhakta is not suffering in the spiritual realm, yet Baba still bestows His blessing to enhance their bhakti, that is His krpa’ on the bhakta.

Value every language

Prout philosophy states, “”For the all-round welfare and development of human beings, society needs to follow some fundamental socio-political principles. Without the firm foundation of such principles, disunity, injustice and exploitation will flourish. To avoid this and to safeguard the interests of all people, the leaders of society must ensure that cardinal socio-political principles are strictly followed. Otherwise, individual and collective progress can never be achieved.”

"There are three cardinal socio-political principles which should never be violated…..Thirdly, no mother tongue should be suppressed."

“Thirdly, no mother tongue should be suppressed. If a mother tongue is suppressed, the consequences are most dangerous. Take the example of Pakistan. When Pakistan was formed, Urdu was declared the national language. But the actual language position of undivided Pakistan – that is, East Pakistan and West Pakistan – was that 60% of the population spoke Bengali and 40% spoke Hindi, Baluchi, Punjabi or Urdu. When Urdu was declared the national language, East Pakistan revolted and this led to the division of Pakistan. There was a famous song at the time.” (1)

Note: In this above teaching only the third socio-political principle has been addressed - the first two are: Not retrenched from their jobs and not forcibly converted to another religion.

Here it should be understood that the term retrenchment means losing one's job. The worker has been dismissed, fired, or let go whereby they no longer have a job. The term retrenchment is commonly used in Australia and South Africa. People from other regions may not be familiar with this usage of the term.

Mind and soul will be radiant with joy

“Human history today has reached such a transitional phase that universal humanity, forgetting all spatial, temporal and personal differences, shall have to move, hand in hand, shoulder to shoulder towards the new dawn with rapid steps. Humanity must respond to this call. With the reddish glow of the dawn, the collective body, mind and soul will be radiant with joy. And that alone will be the real progress of universal humanity, the firm establishment of unified humanism.” (Ananda Vanii #61)

Lower grade of bhaktas

In various discourses Baba differentiates between bhaktas and devotees. In brief, bhaktas are only those who have love for God, who love Parama Purus'a. There is no other use or meaning of the term 'bhakta'. Whereas people can be devoted to all sorts of things etc. A wife may be devoted to her husband. Various pets may be very devoted to their master. So like this one who is devoted has various insinuations and meanings whereas the use of the term bhakta is very specific and pointed.

Baba says, "'Well, we've grown quite old. Having reached such a ripe old age, if we eat without doing some kind of ritualistic worship, people will speak ill of us and criticize us. So we'd better follow the ritualistic formalities by chanting a few mantras'. This category of bhakta is called `sattvika bhakta.' They don't ask for any material thing no doubt, but they ask for liberation as they have reached the last stage of life. Parama Purusa may or may not grant liberation to these bhaktas. One thing which is sure is that they won't attain Him because they want liberation, but not Parama Purusa [moksa] Himself." (1)

Note: A great bhakta wants only Parama Purusa, not anything else.

Bhakta’s choice: stay with Him, or… + 4 more

Baba

Bhakta’s choice: stay with Him, or…

Namaskar,

Sadguru Baba benevolently guides bhaktas in all situations and in all circumstances. Sometimes that guidance comes in the form of sweet words and affection to help the sadhaka advance; and, other times that guidance comes in the form of mock scolding and feigned anger to fuel a sadhaka's progress. In both instances, His aim is the welfare of the sadhaka.

Externally, to the unknowing observer, His "scolding" and feigned anger may look like something terrible, but the bhakta knows that it is just His divine play. Baba's eternal stance is one of perfect composure and deep prema. Externally, He may act angry because that is the needed medicine to help that disciple. For this reason, He pretends to be angry.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

That is the way of Sadguru: to love unconditionally and make a show of punishment. That is the contrast. Yet both avenues are wholly grounded in the spirit of welfare. By this dual approach, He hastens one's journey towards that supreme stance.

Those whom He loves most

It happens, however, that some may misunderstand His dramatic show of punishment. Pseudo-sadhakas mistakenly view His form of Va'madeva - as being something really unkind. But His show of punishment and feigned anger and scolding can never exceed the prema and closeness which He has for that sadhaka. In that sense, He only expresses His feigned anger towards those whom He loves most. That is the special point to always remember.

Ananda Marga Caryacarya states, “The quantum of punishment must not exceed the quantum of love.” (1)

So ultimately, whether He is using affectionate words or tough language, it is all an expression of His boundless prema - whereby He is bringing the sadhaka closer.

Here following is one beautiful story which perfectly encapsulates the above ideal. It is an account of one of Baba's visits to Jaipur, Rajasthan. By His grace, I was personally present on this magnificent occasion.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

The date was 12 October 1964, and we were blessed by Baba to receive Him in the evening time. Just prior, He had been in Allahabad and Agra. And on Monday, the 12th of October, Baba traveled via train from Agra to Jaipur. Many of us had the good fortune to receive Him that evening in Jaipur. The next day, Tuesday October 13, Baba blessed all in DMC. It was a grand event and we were all ensconced in His spiritual flow.

And then at midday on Wednesday, October 14, Baba was making His departure from Jaipur in order to take a plane journey to Bombay (Mumbai). And it is this momentous occasion that I am going to relay to you now in full detail.

Baba's unique query to margiis

Baba's farewell to Jaipur margiis: Do you want to remain with Parama Purusa and serve society or become one with Parama Purusa.

Firstly, it should be noted that during Baba's stay in Jaipur He showered immense grace, and He was also quite stern and strict with margiis on points of sadhana, service, and sacrifice. Some new margiis became affected by His feigned scolding. Yet, at the time of His farewell, Baba beautifully cleansed the mind and filled it with bhakti. It was His ahaetukii krpa'.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Here then is a word for word rendition - from my journal of that day - of Baba's farewell from Jaipur on 14 October 1964. Baba spoke the following:

BABA: "There are some great bhaktas who want to remain with Parama Purusa in liila bhava always, and while with Him they want to serve the society. Wherever Parama Purusa goes and takes form as Taraka Brahma, then those bhaktas always want to accompany Him and perform service."

BABA: "And some other great bhaktas just want to become one with Parama Purusa."

BABA: "So it is up to a bhakta’s desire and accordingly Parama Purusa will bless them with what they want."

BABA: "But the true enjoyment is to be with Parama Purusa in liila bhava and serve the society. That is great and I also want that service to be done to the society. Ultimately though, it is up to the bhaktas to decide what they want."

MARGIIS: "Baba, we want to serve the society and be with You".

BABA: "Yes, that is also what I want."

"It is My duty to clean you"

Baba's farewell to Jaipur margiis: "It is My duty to clean your mind"

Then Baba said, "There is another point I want to tell."

BABA [referring to Himself]: "Baba sometimes can become very tough. He sometimes plays a very tough role. And also in this DMC, a few margiis were thinking that Baba is really tough. So we have to think, is it that Baba is really being tough, or is it that He is just playing to show His toughness. Is He just adopting a role of toughness. The answer to this is only known to Baba because otherwise people would not be afraid or take it seriously."

Then, with those still around Him and addressing one and all, Baba faced towards another margii and started talking.

BABA: "You know I am your gula'm ("servant") and when I see any wrong or negative thing in your mind then it is My duty to clean your mind. It is just like a "servant" who wipes up the dirt from the house to make it clean. Similarly, it is My duty to clean your mind. So I am doing My duty."

BABA [citing one Urdu poem]: "I am your "servant" and you are my master...".

BABA: "So it is My duty to clean you."

BABA: "Having a human body and an animal mind, doing great work is not possible. You are sadhakas; you have to do something great - something meaningful. And a sadhaka can do anything and everything.”

Then Baba emanated a very strong spiritual vibration. And those present started crying in bliss and the air was filled and flooded with devotion and longing for Parama Purusa. The margiis all felt so blissful and they could not control their tears. And they started singing one song: "Baba, please do not go, You are mine. Please remain permanently mine..." Baba was sitting there quietly the whole time. In that highly-charged atmosphere, Baba took leave of us and went to catch His plane for Bombay (Mumbai).

For their welfare

Here below are some of Baba's special guidelines that a true Guru must "scold" as well as love. Only feigned punishment and only showering grace will not do. Both sides are needed.

Nigraha'nugrahe shakto gururityabhidhiyate

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "One who only punishes a person is not a Guru, and one who only loves is also not a Guru...excessive love and affection spoils a person. Only one who does both these things is a real Guru. That is why people should be trained with both love and punishment. Where love fails, punishment helps." (2)

Ananda Marga ideology guides us, "A spiritual guru must be well-acquainted with all the processes of sádhaná, must have the capacity to convince others, must possess complete knowledge of the scriptures, must know many languages, and must have comprehensive knowledge and intellect, plus some extra qualifications. What are those qualifications? Nigrahánugrahe shakto gururityabhidhiiyate – “the guru must possess the capacity both to punish, and to love, or bless, his disciples.” Punishment alone, without love, is not good. Love and punishment should go together, and the degree of punishment should never exceed the degree of love. Then only can one be called a real spiritual guru." (3)

Prabhat Samgiita #4528 expresses a similar idea: Lord, those whom You feel are very close to You, You discipline them for their welfare. In my day to day life and in my happiness and sorrow, You are always with me as my very close and intimate own person. In the pitch dark night, You are the jewel that provides the pathway and effulgence that makes my path and destination clear. But even then I do not look towards You. Your degree of discipline does not exceed the quantum of prema. You love so much and discipline just a little. Parama Purusa, You are very kind and merciful.

Conclusion

The most magnificent aspect of Baba’s loving scolding and feigned punishment is that by this way He secretly takes away the sins and bad samskaras of His disciples. He removes all their physical, psychic, and spiritual bondages, ailments, and weaknesses which were hindering their path of progress - in all realms of life. By His feigned punishment one’s entire personality is transformed and enhanced. It is His boundless krpa.

History has witnessed that when He was doing dharma samiiksa then thousands and thousands of people underwent much discomfort and difficulties in order to stay in Kolkata in hopes of getting His blessing in the form of prema and feigned punishment. Sadhakas left their hearth and home, and waited 15 days - even months - without proper food and sleep, and with great difficulty, for the opportunity to have dharma samiiksa to get the prema and feigned punishment of the Sadguru.

Words lack the capacity to express the true beauty and joy of His love - and the blessing of His feigned punishment. After getting His grace, one’s whole personality was entirely refined. The sadhana one could not do earlier was now easily done. One’s status of mind increased exponentially in the subtle, spiritual sphere.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

This is the special outcome of Sadguru’s prema and feigned punishment. Those who understand that He scolds due to His unfathomable love are the true disciples. Blessed are those who had this experience and realise this fact in their own life.

Namaskar,
At His feet,
Shriikant

Still happening today...

Some people think that now there is no opportunity to get that type of special blessing. But they should know that Parama Purusa is the Eternal Entity who exists always so His liila also goes on. Now and in the future, bhaktas are receiving and will receive His grace - always. For example, if non-sadhakas and bad people commit a mistake, they do not get atonement quickly. But in a sadhaka’s life, there is a special arrangement. For their mistake they will quickly get a serious punishment. Those practicing sadhana realise this. Baba is the Sadguru so He is helping His disciples in various ways. The way He was doing as Mahasamabhuti, now He is doing invisibly: He is helping. One can realise this in their life. If one is sincere in sadhana, they will feel that Guru’s love and punishment is for their progress.

~ In-depth study ~

Five faces of Sadguru Taraka Brahma

From this story we can understand that as a Guru Baba loves and pretends to punish - all done for our welfare. And in His teachings Baba describes how Parama Purusa has 5 faces or 5 personalities. From left to right they are Va'madeva, Kalagni, Kalyan Sundaram, Iishana, and Daksineshwar. And all are needed.

And it is His face or form as Va'madeva that He strongly seemingly scolds and rebukes us. Whereas other times He is just a little bit angry, or more gentle, or more calm, or extremely sweet and charming etc. So He has various approaches yet all are needed-- and all are grounded in His deep and infinite love.

In the above story about Baba's departure from Jaipur, He is explaining the inner beauty and working of Va'mdeva. The inner spirit of Va'madeva: The all-knowing and all-benevolent Baba can only feign punishment to those who already have a high degree of prema for Parama Purusa, and vice-versa. To experience Baba's form in va'madeva shows that one has reached a certain qualification as a bhakta. Because to get His feigned anger, one must be deserving - one must love Parama Purusa dearly.

Baba loves those whom He pretends to punish - for them He has far more prema. That is the divine equation. That means He has to bestow in His role as Kalyan Sundaram.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Those who experienced His Va'madeva form were blessed to receive His special grace-compassion. And those who could not get scolded by Baba in those days were not up to the mark; so Baba had left it upon prakrti to reform them. Because He only scolds those who are really close to Him. That is His divine liila and the inner secret behind His feigned scolding.

Who can be called a Guru

Ananda Marga philosophy guides us, "You must try to arouse the seed of benevolence that lies hidden in the inner recesses of the human mind. How can this seed be aroused? Human beings will have to apply all sorts of measures – persuasion, scolding etc.; and at the same time you will have to continue your efforts so that the dormant seeds of psychic potentialities express themselves. And with their expression, the whole society will be benefited. Today human beings must be inspired and motivated, and thus discipline is essential. To impose discipline is not bad. It has been said in the scriptures: Hitarthe shásanam ityarthe anushásanam. “That discipline which leads to the welfare of all human beings is called anushásanam.” Society requires enforced discipline. In the scriptures it is also said: Nigrahánugrahe shakto gururityabhidhiyate: “One who is capable of punishing or rewarding one's followers is called a Guru, a true teacher”. Only one who can discipline as well as love a person, can be called a Guru." (4)

Ananda Marga ideology states, "Human beings are the progeny of Parama Puruśa and are thus the objects of His love and affection. Whatever might be the nature of the sins they commit, they will never be deprived of His affection. Parama Puruśa may scold them, but He can never hate them. He will simply shake the dust off their clothes and take them onto His lap." (5)

You are always very close as my own & intimate person

Prabhat Samgiita #4528 expresses a similar idea. To whom Sadguru loves, He punishes also to exhaust their samskaras or to make them better.

ápan bolei karo shásan
duhkhe sukhe ápanár jana
ándhár ráte mańir matan
álo jvalo tákáini,
bhuleo kabhu bhávini

The above stanza from Prabhat Samgiita #4528 says a similar thing. Lord, those whom You feel are very close to You, You discipline them for their welfare. In my day to day life and in my happiness and sorrow, You are always with me as my very close and intimate own person. In the pitch dark night, You are the jewel that provides the pathway and effulgence that makes my path and destination clear. But even then I do not look towards You. Your degree of discipline does not exceed the quantum of love. You love so much and discipline just a little. Parama Purusa, You are very kind and merciful.

“Courtesy of unknown bhakta via Ananda Marga Universal (https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/)”

This will be treated as the standard protocol.

Origin of Nath dharma

Parama Purusa Baba says, "In Puranic Hindu yuga in India when Buddhism and Shaeva religions got mixed, then one blended religion got formed and it got called as Nath dharma. It is most prevalent in entire eastern part of India. They named it the Nath religion because at the end of their Guru's name the 'Nath' title is there, i.e. Adinath Miin, Matsyendranath, Goraksanath, Rohininath, Chaorangiinath, etc." (1)

Note: Even monks of the Nath religion and their followers do not know that the origin of Nath dharma was Buddhism and that those Buddhists accepted the Shiva cult. After the eradication of Buddhism from India, followers of Lord Buddha accepted Shaeava religion. They continued some of those Buddhist dogmatic rituals. The result being that one type of blending happened. Now followers of the Nath religions only know this much: that they are followers of Shiva. They are completely unaware about their past link with Buddhism. In eastern India, there are hundreds of Nath temples. Even then, neither believers of the Hindu religious sect of Nath nor followers of Buddhism know this fact about their history.

The current chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, the monk Yogii Adityanath, is a follower of the Nath religion.

Exploitation & language

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “People must raise their socio-economic consciousness, know who their exploiters are, expose psycho-economic exploitation and become imbued with fighting spirit. While you should encourage the use of all tongues, this does not imply opposing the study of other languages. Language in itself is of secondary importance; of primary importance is the cultural and socio-economic consequences of linguistic imperialism. (1)

Daughters safeguarded by inheritance system

Ananda Marga Caryacarya states, “Sons and daughters will inherit in equal shares the movable and/or immovable property of their parents. The daughter will enjoy the immovable property during her lifetime, but will not have the right to transfer it to others. The property will revert to her father’s family after her death.” (1)

#1: The AM system of inheritance follows the patrilineal order wherein the father's land is passed down to his sons. That is the baseline.

#2: At the same time, the AM system of inheritance makes the very unique stipulation that as long as the daughter is alive she has her given right to access her father's property. This is very important as suppose the daughter is married with children and living with her husband's extended family, and then suddenly her husband undergoes an untimely death and she is widowed and the children are fatherless. In turn, the husband's family may no longer welcome her on their land etc. In that case, given the AM system, the daughter has every right to go back with her children to her father's property where she will have access to her fair share. By this way, the daughter and her children will be safe and secure. And, of course, if her husband was himself a landowner, independent of his extended family, then the wife will inherit that land as well.

#3: The son's situation is different. If he is married and his wife does then he will not have access to any land owned by his wife's extended family. So the son must rely exclusively on his paternal property, and / or whatever property he may have acquired on his own.

#4: So in our AM system, in any family both the sons and daughters will be safe and secure and have access to land / property.

#5: it goes without question that if there are no sons then the father’s property will be divided accordingly amongst his daughters. And those daughters can one day leave that land unto their children according to the AM system of inheritance.

Careful when using fans

Shabda Cayanika states, "If a hand fan is used in a small room it certainly generates some breeze but that breeze does not give much relief from the fatigue of summer. Such a breeze within those small confines becomes more and more injurious to health with every passing moment. The breeze of an electric fan within a closed environment is even more harmful. If a person sleeps with this kind of a breeze they feel heavy when they wake up; a weak or sick person feels feverish. The breeze generated by a fan within a confined space is called kut́heru; since ancient times it has been considered as something which should be avoided." (1)

Most misused Ananda Vanii
- Ananda Vanii #54

Ananda Vanii states, “The most valuable treasures on the path of human progress are honesty, simplicity and spiritedness. In no stratum of life should you allow the standard of honesty to deteriorate. In no situation, except during the struggle for Dharma, should you indulge in diplomacy or duplicity. In other words you must keep yourself straight in all other strata just as in Sastáuṋga Prańáma, and remain vigilant that the fire of your spiritedness is under no circumstances buried beneath a heap of ashes. (1)

Note 1: This Ananda Vanii is extremely misused. For example when thieves do a burglary they use this vanii and justify that they are involved in the struggle for dharma. And when group organisers go against neo-humanism and form their groups then they console themselves that they are playing diplomacy for dharma. Even murderers use this for their work - murdering for dharma. Because of the severe twisting of the teaching contained in this vanii, such persons get severely punished by nature. So everyone should be aware.

Note 2: The above is one of Baba’s original Ananda Vaniis. These original and true Ananda Vaniis are unique, eternal guidelines that stand as complete discourses in and of themselves. They are unlike Fake Ananda Vaniis.
