Info for youths: their changing bodies + 3 more

Baba
Info for youths: their changing bodies

Namaskar,

At present, misinformation and misunderstandings about procreation are being transmitted by the mass media, textbooks, internet, school boards, government, academic studies etc. In all these agencies and avenues the wrong kind of education is in vogue. The preachings and advice are misguided and that adversely affects our youths.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

What to teach to pre-pubescent

In the true sense, education about the reproductive glands means proper understanding and use of those glands in order to goad the mind in a sentient direction. If those glands are misused the results are disastrous. Proper education means informing youths about their developing physical bodies, and teaching them how to goad the mind toward the psychic and spiritual fields. This is what children should be taught upon entering adolescence.

Youths should be fully informed how the right use of their developing bodies can lead them to greatness. With the development of the reproductive glands comes courage, tenacity, idealism, compassion, kindness, intellectual sharpness, and love for the Supreme. All of this Baba clearly discusses in His discourses. The curriculum for adolescents should highlight how those glands help develop the entire human personality. With this clear-cut understanding and empowerment, youths will have the requisite logic and reasoning to steer clear of depraved behaviour.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Right use of those glands make person great

(A) Here Baba guides us how the reproductive glands are linked with high qualities of mind and proper conduct. In this below quote Baba tells us how restraint leads to greater intelligence as the lymph is best utilised.

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "If the testes function properly and if there is no hindrance from the lymphatic glands, intelligence will develop. Without the testes, the solar plexus will not be developed and intelligence will decrease." (1)

(B) In this below teaching Baba guides us how the reproductive glands promote clear thinking - so restraint is important, otherwise that faculty of mind will not develop.

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "If the testes are properly-active and there is the proper secretion of hormones, a youth develops the spirit of rationality." (2)

(C) In this next teaching Baba guides us how the right use of those glands make the person great.

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "If the secretion of the testes glands is normal, a sense of dutifulness will be created in the mind." (3)

(D) Finally, those glands are highly related with spiritual thirst and creating a link with the Supreme.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "If there is proper-secretion, a youth acquires the power to transform that longing into universalism. In those of you who have a longing for Parama Purus'a [Supreme Consciousness], a proper-secretion took place in your hormones between the ages of fifteen and seventeen. At that stage the idea to become great comes into the mind." (4)

Best to safeguard lymph

If anyone wishes to become an ideal human being, they should be aware that their glandular system has to be maintained and used properly. This should be reinforced again and again to our youths. We will have to teach the point that the lymph is "food for the brain" and "food for the glands", and should not get senselessly converted into spermatozoa and wasted.

Ananda Marga philosophy states,"In males the testes are the glands which convert lymph into semen. As soon as lymph is converted into semen, the nerves are affected and there is a corresponding change in one’s thoughts. It is the pituitary gland which tells the testes to convert lymph into semen [that is, testosterone and spermatic fluid]. When the production of lymph goes beyond the capacity of the body to utilize it, it is converted into semen and comes out of the body." (5)

Unfortunately, in today's society, the lower vrttis are encouraged by negative propaganda in which case many youths and young adults cannot develop the right qualities in life.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Our aim then is to give youths the right theoretical knowledge to understand that it is in their best interests to safeguard lymph. Those youths should not allow themselves to be lulled in the wrong direction. That would be disastrous for them. If they have the right awareness about this and exercise restraint, they will develop all kinds of great qualities in life. Then they will be in the best position to become a true leader in society and an extraordinary aspirant.

Physically transmitted diseases

Our adolescence education curriculum will be radically different from what the general society is currently doing. At present, they teach self-stimulation to adolescents, use of condoms and other forms of contraception, as well as many other points related with this. They expect teens to engage in this way, and even encourage them in this regard. Whereas the point of our discussion is to goad youths in another direction entirely.

Because those youths who are are encouraged and allured into degrading activities get caught up in so many problems: disease (gonorrhea, syphilis, herpes), crime (date rape, pedophilia, sexual predator), death (AIDS etc) and so many other issues like poor student life, teenage pregnancy etc. That is the outcome of degenerative behaviours. And verily, these outcomes are pervasive throughout the youth population in materially oriented areas.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Female diseases

In particular, young girls should receive extensive education and training about female diseases. Baba has placed much emphasis on the care of women in this regard and young girls should be fully schooled in this way. It is a tragedy that so many females in materialistic nations suffer from such ailments. Males also suffer but generally not as badly as females as the female biological system is more complex. Additionally, the point of teen-pregnancy remains a serious problem.

We should warn our youths about the pains, shame, harm, and depravity of related diseases. Such diseases can make a person sterile, bedridden, and even lead to death. No one ever thinks that they themselves will contract a disease or suffer hygienic problems. But it happens. That is why we should warn our youths about this. They think everything will be fine, but it is not true. Awful problems are destined to mount if anyone travels down that dark road.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Many get caught up in negative relationships

The other danger is that physical contact is not just a vice like alcohol or cigarettes. There is a huge emotional attachment as well - another human being is involved. Youths get attached to the opposite gender and spend all their time with them and their studies get left by the wayside. Even a good student can lose their ability to concentrate and focus, both due to emotional attachment and lack of lymph.

Just the other day, one tragic case occurred where one college student murdered his ex-girlfriend (a student at the same college) due to extreme jealousy. So now the girl's life is over and the boy will spend the rest of his life in jail. Their dreams are shattered and their lives ruined. And both were smart students attending a prestigious school. Yet intimate involvement destroyed all that they had and destroyed their existence. And in materialistic societies, these types of tragic, yet heinous, crimes are occurring on regular basis because people become emotionally entrapped in relationships which they are unable to handle. And it all starts with bodily allurement and a lack of knowledge about their own instincts.

Sadly, there is no shortage of other cases where youths spend all their time arguing and compromising their values because of highly emotional feelings for the opposite gender. Instead of having a successful academic career and paving the way for a bright future, they get caught up in negative relationships and their whole life gets derailed in that way - missed opportunities, or even worse. These represent but some of the many pitfalls and horrors.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

We should remind our youths that Parama Purusa is watching everything and He does not like to see His young children absorbed in degrading and deviant behaviours etc. We have now discussed both the benefits of right understanding that lead to the development of the higher human personality, as well as the horrible outcomes of wrong understanding wherein youths get caught up in disease and strife and ruin their entire life. The next matter is how to fortify our youths to move in the right direction. They need to know what to do in order to avoid the pitfalls and progress in a proper manner.

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “It is not at all desirable for adolescents and young people to remain ignorant of sexual matters.” (6)

Curriculum: reproductive glands related issues

1) Right Company: Boys should befriend boys and girls should befriend girls. Never should members of the opposite gender be together in a lonely, isolated place. This could start early in the pre-pubescent years, as some girls begin the process of puberty as early as 7-years-old. And some boys start entering adolescence at the age of 8.

2) Yoga: Youths should be encouraged in all kinds of yogic practices like sadhana, kiirtan, asanas, kaoshikii and tandava. This will goad their mind in the right direction as well as keep their bodies healthy, balanced, and sentient.

3) Regular Fasting: At a young age, students should start fasting. If they are still in elementary school or primary education the fasting can be modified. This type of modified fasting (such as not eating rice or bread on the night of ekadashii etc and instead eat lighter foods) is extremely important for instilling the overall idea and discipline of fasting. Plus those young kids will look forward to the day when they are deemed old enough to do real fasting, i.e. after they enter into puberty.

Another reason why starting early is important is because up until the age of 10 or 12 children are extremely obedient. So they will readily adopt the fasting routine. Once they become teenagers, it may already be too late to implement regular fasting if those kids have not been doing it up until that point. Those teens might rebel; they may think that since their friends are not fasting then why should they fast. Indeed all kinds of problems can crop up if there is a delay.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

So starting earlier is best. Once established in the overall idea of fasting, then by early adolescence and young adulthood, our youths should be on a regular fasting program. This will divert their physical energy away from lower inclinations and will give them strength of mind and time for spiritual practice.

4) Proper Dress: From the time of pre-pubescence, our boys should be psychologically taught and convinced about wearing a laungota. Our Ananda Marga has a scientific system that helps in restraint. And this practice should be instilled in our youths at a pre-pubescent age. At the same time, youths should be taught to wear clothing that is not the least bit provocative. Unfortunately now in materialistic nations many of our students wear revealing clothing and that drives the whole existence in the wrong direction. So we should psychologically teach and enforce our code for appropriate dress.

5) Sixteen Points: Our youths should get the full teaching about joint hair, use of water, half-bath, and other key points of health and hygiene such as applying oil to the joints. By this special system, the glands are kept cool and the mind is diverted upwards. These all need to be aspects of our curriculum.

6) "Cakuna samvaro...": Here below Baba guides us that one should have control over their motor and sensory organs.

Ananda Marga ideology states, “Caks'un'a' Sam'varo Sa'dhu” O spiritual aspirant! O Bhiks'u! O monk! O devotee! You should have proper control over your eyes; whatever will have bad effect on your mind, you must not see it. “Sa'dhu Sotena sam'varo”. Whatever will have bad effect on your mind, O good man, you must not hear it. “Gha'nena Sam'varo Sa'dhu.” You should have control over your nose, “Sa'dhu Jibha'ya Sam'varo.” You should have control over your taste. “Ka'yena Sam'varo Sa'dhu.” You should have control over your body. “Sa'dhu Va'ca'ya Sam'varo.” You should have control over your language also; and “Savvatha Sam'varo Bhiks'u.” If you want emancipation, if you want liberation from worldly fetters, you must have all-round restraint." (7)

This is a key point in this media-centered era, youths should keep away from websites, movies, music, television - and all forms of stimuli that goad the mind in the wrong (degrading) direction. That means our youths need to be introduced to a whole new modality. If we put forth some effort - spiritual clubs, sports, and strict use over technology etc - then our youths can easily get success.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Conclusion

As Ananda Margiis, we should have our stand and present our curriculum to youths. Once established, those in the general society will take shelter in our programs as well. Because our way is for the welfare of the entire society. We should keep in mind that if we do not take the lead on this topic, then our adolescent youths will learn from others such as the media or their peers. In that case, their training will be in the wrong direction.

Namaskar,
In Him,
Mother Shridevii

Pro-actively guide our youths, otherwise…

Remember, if we fail to guide our youths, then they will learn from the general society. Their void will get filled with the lowly dogma of pop (pseudo) culture. In that case, our innocent youths will be indoctrinated into the dogma that fulfillment in life comes from intimate relations and that self-stimulation is a key practice for adolescents - among so many other dogmas and myths. These messages are harmful and highly detrimental to youths.

~ In-depth study ~

How Sigmund Freud is wrong

Here Baba clearly rejects the notion put forth by Sigmund Freud that humans are primarily motivated by sexual attraction. Rather, human beings do everything in search of happiness.

Ananda Marga ideology states, "Attraction towards material objects is called káma or passion. Here káma does not mean the desire of any particular organ. Some psychologists have maintained that the sexual urge, a particular expression of káma is the root cause of all types of mundane attractions and activities. This statement is wrong, for attraction is the characteristic of all unit entities and such attraction will certainly not always be sexual. Those psychologists that give undue importance to sexual lust, betray their own vulgar and licentious mentality. As I have already said, not each and every attachment or attraction is born of sexual desire. Each unit being is vulnerable to attraction but the cause of this attraction is the imperative urge for self-preservation. It is only because of this urge for self-preservation that unit beings run after crude, subtle or causal expressions. And this urge for self-preservation, too, arises due to the desire for happiness in every living being. So it is clear that behind every attraction between one entity and another, which we call by the name of káma, lies the pure desire for attaining happiness. Happiness is the ultimate desire of life, not lust. It is not a matter of sexual or sensual passion at all." (8)

Duty: protect vitality of our youths

We are to raise our youths into this world in the proper way and teach them all they need to know to get success. This is our way - then society will truly flourish.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Ananda Marga ideology states, "Our world needs a great change in order to move forward and progress. A new order, a new wave, will have to take the place of the old to remedy all the physical, social, intellectual and spiritual ills of the world. As the vanguard of this new movement, the youth are indispensable. It is the youth, and the youth only, who have the vigour to bring about the necessary change. It is the youth who have the resilience to change and adapt and implement the vision of a new society. Without this vision, without the youth, the world will continue in the morass of suffering, injustice and exploitation that is our present social condition. It is the youth of the world only who can help bring about the new world order and the vision of a new humanity." (9)

AM, abortion, & politics

Ananda Marga philosophy says, “Abortion is killing the potentialities...there is hardly any difference between you and an embryo...he [the embryo] is now within the body of the mother. And you are outside the body of the mother...You have got no moral right to kill him.” (1)

Note: Many often mistake liberalism for Ananda Marga teachings. Ananda Marga ideology is neither "liberal" nor "conservative"; it has nothing to do with such terms. Rather, AM ideology has only to do with truth, i.e. dharma.

For example, AM ideology teaches that a human being's life begins at the time the sperm and egg join to form a fertilized egg. Due to that we do not support abortion. Abortion represents the murder of a human being. That having been said, nor do we support the "conservative" approach to this issue because the conservatives are unwilling to take responsibility as a society for the babies which are born. If abortion is removed from the table, it has to be recognized that people are going to continue getting pregnant when they did not want or intend to in all sorts of situations. Those babies will be born and society must take responsibility for the proper care and upbringing of those children, so they can grow and develop with all the same opportunities as other children and become successful in their lives. Conservatives are staunchly against "big government", and oppose funding social programs which are vitally needed for the support of all these babies which will be getting born in unplanned / unwanted situations. The conservative position on this issue is completely hypocritical and indeed harmful. They want to stop abortions, yet have no concern or sympathy for the babe once it is born.

In addition, these conservatives raise the hue and cry of "Pro-life!", and then go home at night and have steak for dinner. By this, we are not equating human and animal life, but are saying that to be "pro-life" as a policy one must be sincere in really supporting life. The more developed the creature, the more its life is to be protected. We know Baba's teaching regarding ahimsa; the conservatives are total hypocrites on this point of "pro-life".

We can understand then that Ananda Marga ideology walks the line of truth; it has nothing to do with liberal or conservative. This point should be clearly understood by Margiis around the world. And this only underscores and calls out more, the critical need for ideological discussion. That is the only way difficult, sensitive societal issues can be raised and brought to the fore in light of Ananda Marga ideology. Unfortunately, nowadays many are either scared to speak the truth on these matters, or are themselves blind and in the dark as to what Ananda Marga ideology actually says. All the more need for the young so-called liberal Margiis to study Ananda Marga ideology, discuss these matters in a meaningful way, and come to know how Sadguru Baba is guiding the society forward.

In Him,
Shriidhar

Story: Ask for that which is permanent

Ananda Marga ideology guides us, "Ya'jinavalkya asked, 'What would you like?'" "Maetreyii replied: 'Yena'ham' na'mrtasya'm' tena'ham' kim kurya'm'" "'What will I do with things which will not remain with me permanently? Of what use are the objects which will not establish me in immortality?...'Please give me that thing which will remain with me permanently, which I'll be able to preserve forever, which will establish me in immortality. I don't want anything else.'" "Then Ya'jinavalkya gave her a number of instructions, upon which a major part of Raja Yoga is based'." (1)

Note: As described in the above teaching, worldly things do not remain with us very long. That is why ideal people goad their mind towards Parama Purusa. Being Parama Purusa and Guru, Baba has given us the path. On this point, we are extremely fortunate. Now our main duty is to follow His ideological teachings, i.e the path to Supreme fulfillment.

Baba’s indirect teaching + 5 more

Baba
Baba’s indirect teaching

Namaskar,

All have seen how Baba would point out the defects of a particular person or group without naming them specifically. That way the general population could get the overall guideline in the most palatable way possible. Side by side, those sadhakas who were keenly aware would always know about whom Baba was speaking. This latter assembly could then benefit most from Baba's discourse. Here we take a look at some of those indirect teachings from His discourses.
http://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Three women equal to one male?

Here is an example of an indirect teaching where Baba is discussing the Islamic filth:

Ananda Marga ideology states, "There are some people who have the opinion that men are especially favoured by Parama Puruśa and that women are not; or that one man is equal to three women. This is dogma. These absurd ideas all originated in dogma. Any intelligent person can easily understand that these propositions are totally hollow and irrational. “The intellect of one man is equal to the intellect of three women” – it is a ridiculous statement. In reality, there may be some cases in which the intellect of one man may be equal only to that of two women. But then there may be other cases where the intellect of one woman may be equal to the intellect of twenty men. Such intelligent women can be found in the world. Or if we speak only of physical weight, then we may find some woman who weighs more than two men. Theoretical statements should not be accepted here." (1)

In His above teaching, Baba is not merely denouncing sexist perspectives but is clearly critiquing the dogmatic ways of Islam. Only in Islam is it thought that three women are equal to one male. So here, without stating it outrightly, Baba is denouncing this point about the Muslim faith. Those in the know clearly understand this, whereas those with a less pointed intellect will not. So here Baba is critiquing Islam which claims that three women equal one male.
http://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Our prophet is the only Saviour

Here is an indirect teaching which Baba has given about semitic (Christianity, Judaism, Islam) religions:

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "Almost every religion has claimed that only its followers are God's chosen people and that the rest of humanity is cursed and bound by the chains of Satan. One religion has declared, “Our prophet is the only saviour. There is no escape from mundane sufferings except by taking refuge in him.””
“Another religion has declared, “I am the last prophet. Prayers must be said before God a specific number of times in a certain manner each day. Special animals must be sacrificed on particular days. These are the wishes of merciful God. Those who follow these injunctions will attain heaven on the Day of Judgement.””
“Yet another religion says, “Know ye, my son, thy God is the only God. All other gods are false gods.” Just imagine, all these religions preach universal fraternity, and yet this universal fraternity is kept within the confines of their own community. Humanity gasps for breath at such preposterous claims of universal fraternity.”” (2)

Without naming the above religion, Baba is making clear-cut reference to the defects of the various Semitic religions. Baba is indirectly stating that it is Judaism, Islam, and Christianity that each lay claim that, "Our prophet is the only saviour."
http://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Those demons in human framework whom poor fellows trusted

Here is an indirect teaching which Baba has given about M K Gandhi, India.

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "Who are responsible for the distress of these millions of refugees? Those demons in human framework, whom those poor fellows trusted; to give ovations to whom those people rushed to meetings with thousands of garlands; for whose satisfaction people used to don special kinds of [white] caps to cover up their sins." (3)

By reading the above, some may wonder who are these people in white caps, whereas others may think that Baba is merely talking in general about those who do wrong to the people. Those with greater insight understand that Baba is directly condemning the hypocrisy of M K Gandhi of India. It was Gandhi who divided the country of India, thereby leading to the displacement and death of millions of innocent citizens. And still today his supporters use white caps. Baba is stating that Gandhi is that demon in a human framework whom those poor fellows entrusted.
http://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

No constructive ideology

Here is an indirect teaching which Baba has given about communism:

Propounder of Prout states, "I cannot support the attitude of those who denounce capitalism at every opportunity, because this allows capitalists to become alert and invent more scientific and devious ways to exploit the people. Those who lack a constructive ideology will never be capable of destroying capitalism." (4)

At first glance, some may just conclude that Baba is against capitalism or the enemies thereof, but that is not the main essence of His guideline. The unnamed ism that Baba is denouncing is socialism / communism. Such leftists always criticise the status quo of capitalism but have defective teachings of their own. So that is what Baba is clearly teaching in His guideline. Baba's fundamental critique of communism is that it lacks a constructive ideology.
http://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Ran as fast as his legs could carry him

Here is an indirect teaching which Baba has given about Shrii Shankaracarya ji:

Ananda Marga philosophy guides us, "Once a certain mahápuruśa who happened to be an orthodox Máyávádin was walking along the road in Kashi [adjacent to Varanasi]...one morning a wild bull suddenly started to charge that mahápuruśa, so he ran away as fast as his legs could carry him. A logician who happened to be standing nearby asked the mahápuruśa, “Well sir, if you say that this world is unreal, then the bull is also unreal, so why are you running in fear?” That mahápuruśa would not accept any defeat in logic and replied, “My running away is also unreal.” This is the way things went on for many centuries." (5)

In the above story, Baba is talking specifically about a particular philosopher and his teaching. Some may just think this is a humorous tale or some random anecdote. However, here Baba is referring to the Shrii Shankaracarya ji and his teaching of mayavada, or illusion theory. Baba is telling us, in a psychological and humorous manner, that mayavada is 100% impractical, i.e. just a bogus theory that is impossible to follow in day to day life, and that Shankaracayara was incapable of following his own philosophy. Baba is guiding us that Shankaracarya was the one who ran away as fast as his legs could carry him.
http://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

The key takeaway from this entire teaching is that according to Ananda Marga philosophy this world is not an illusion but a relative truth. That means that our worldly objects, materials, mundane knowledge, and daily actions etc, although not permanent, are of value; they are meaningful and can help society advance in the various fields. In contrast, Shankaracarya's teaching is that this whole entire world is an illusion-- and that caused all kinds of retardation, stagnation, and suffering in India.

Even more dangerous than blood-thirsty tigers

Here is an indirect teaching which Baba has given about Semitic religions:

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “At one time people were told that this world is for human enjoyment only, so the existence of all the plants, of all the birds and animals, in the world is intended merely to provide objects of enjoyment for human beings. Their hopes and aspirations, their intense desire to live, their pains and pleasures, their affectionate family or community lives are simply without value. However much a baby goat may wish to live, the main consideration is how much meat that kid carries on its frame. This defective philosophy has made people ruthlessly violent – even more dangerous than blood-thirsty tigers. Tigers kill only to fill their stomachs, to preserve their physical existence; whereas human beings kill animals mostly out of greed. Generally people have resorted to hypocrisy to camouflage this instinct of greed; they have killed animals on the pretext of pleasing the gods, while actually their main motive in doing so was to please their own tongues. These are all the inevitable results of such defective philosophies.” (6)

In His above teaching, Baba is guiding us that followers of the Semitic religions (I.e. Judaism, Islam, & Christianity) look upon this earth as a place for their enjoyment.
http://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Pulverized & crushed like ants

Below Baba is talking about Mrs Indira Gandhi.

Ananda Marga ideology says, "Suppose an evil force says, “I, the lord of a certain country, will destroy Ananda Marga from the very root.” A dha'rmika should maintain patience, should be patient. Because the day is soon to come when that evil force is going to be destroyed. Its weapon will serve as a boomerang for its own death. And this happened in the near past, as you all know." (7)

To innocent people, the above guideline may just be about keeping patience in the face of evil, etc or they may have some other notion. Whereas a proper sadhaka clearly realises that in the above teaching Baba is pointedly referring to the audacious talk and quick demise of Mrs Indira Gandhi. She is the "lord of a certain country" who vowed to "root out" Ananda Marga ideology. So Baba is guiding such sadhakas that just as in the recent past, in the future also no enemy will ever be able to take down Ananda Marga ideology.
http://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

And this next guideline is working in a similar manner.

Ananda Marga philosophy guides us, "You have seen with your own eyes that in the past certain powerful persons thought, in their extreme vanity, that they could make or break anything. They perpetrated indescribable tortures and atrocities on Ananda Marga. But even in the face of such torments, Ananda Marga held its head high. There is no power in the universe, in the heaven or in the underworld, which can annihilate Ananda Marga, because Ananda Marga is established on the solid foundation of rationality and righteousness. If those wicked forces engage in fight with Ananda Marga, they will themselves be pulverized: they will be crushed like ants." (8)

In this above teaching Baba is again indirectly talking about Mrs Indira Gandhi as well as other malevolent forces that tried to destroy Ananda Marga ideology. It was Indira Gandhi who upon attacking Ananda Marga ideology was to be pulverized and crushed like an ant.

No singing or dancing & steeped in blood

Next Baba is pointing out the defects of Islam.

Ananda Marga ideology guides us, “Humanity, in its all-out quest for this aesthetic science, attained spirituality. One must acknowledge this. Herein lies the excellence of aesthetic science. For this reason, I have given my whole-hearted and explicit support for nandana vijiṋána. You know that there are certain religions which do not encourage aesthetic pursuits. You will notice that in those religions inertia, inferiority complexes and a sense of violence are predominant.” (9)

In His above guideline, Baba is indirectly referencing the Muslim religion as they have essentially banned music and dance; moreover, it is Islam that is deeply rooted in violence, in their history, scripture, and way of life.
http://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Conclusion

As sadhakas we are to propagate His teachings to one and all. We have much to learn from Baba's style of communication. Our approach should be both psychological and palatable. We should perfectly follow Baba's example.

We should always evaluate with whom we are speaking and then apply the proper voice. With those whom we are more close we can avoid lengthy talks and descriptions and use very direct language such as "Do this..." or "Don't do that...". And with those who are less close, we will have to take a more measured and calculated approach. By this way, step by step, we will be able to share Baba's teachings with all, in the best way possible.

So understanding Baba's indirect use of language offers two distinct benefits:

1) We can better understand and apply Ananda Marga ideology to daily life circumstances.
2) We can better present His teachings to various types of people.

Namaskar,
In Him,
Satiish

Day of Judgment, Doomsday

Ananda Marga ideology guides us, "Some people say that human beings will one day have to face the Day of Judgment, Doomsday. Let us see how far this is correct. Rationally speaking, does it make sense? Where will the dead bodies of human beings remain, in their graves? Won't those dead bodies turn into soil beneath the ground? Near the knee, and in some other place, the bones of a dead body remain undecayed for eight to ten years. The remaining portion becomes part of the earth. So where will those bodies stay after death? In the graveyard? Isn't it possible that a farmer will plough that ground? Under such circumstances, when the body, cells and nerve fibres no longer exist, where will the departing minds and souls rest?"
"Now, what is death? After death the mind becomes suspended, and the mind and átman become dissociated from the decaying body. So on the Day of Judgement, who will rise from the grave? The body cannot rise since it has already turned into soil. And where will the bodiless mind go? And when the mind is suspended, the jiivátmá cannot function either. Here is another point – human beings do not have to wait for the Day of Judgement." (10)

In His above teaching Baba is making reference to Doomsday and indirectly speaking about Christianity.

Two special points

Note: Baba’s guideline appended below gives two very significant teachings:

(a) When you arrived on this earth you came empty-handed. Everything belongs to Parama Purusa because He has created this universe. To think, “Something is mine” is a misguided notion. Your house, your family, and whatever else you think to be yours, after 150 years you will not have those things / relations. What to say of 150 years, even after one minute you may not have them. So one is just a pseudo-owner; the real owner is Parama Purusa. But this mistaken sense of personal ownership is the effect of avidya maya. Because avidya maya does not allow human beings to gain this simple awareness that everything belongs to Parama Purusa. Only when the veil of avidya maya is removed a little do people then start talking about this idea. Otherwise, there would not be any need to even raise this matter. The day when avidya maya is fully eradicated one will become Parama Purusa.

(b) The second teaching is that as humans we have special power, i.e. one’s I-feeling. Because of this a person can do sadhana and become one with Parama Purusa. Other jiivas do not have such a clear I-feeling, and they cannot do A-grade sadhana. That is why we should use our potentiality by (#1) not having the vanity of taking another’s property as our own, and (#2) utilizing the psychic potentiality for spiritual practice.

For more understanding read Baba’s below teaching:

Ananda Marga ideology states, “On a deeper analysis, it is found that human beings have nothing to call their own. They may boast about their intellect, intelligence, power and influence but the real owner of these is Parama Puruśa. By His grace, alone can one utilize or enjoy objects. If Parama Puruśa so desires. He can snatch away all these possessions from humans, And the humans will be unable to do anything about it. After realizing the Supreme truth intelligent people should endeavour to realize Parama Puruśa with the power He has given them. This realization of the Supreme also depends on His grace. In order to merit Parama Puruśa’s grace, unit beings will also have to do something. Their duty is to contemplate or ideate on Him.” (1)

Do we need a dhyana mantra

Ananda Marga ideology guides us, “Dhyána is meditation on the Supreme Entity so that there is an incessant upward movement of the mind towards Parama Puruśa.” (1)

Note: In those days of old, in the hoary past, science was not sufficiently developed so as to have a photo of those Mahasambhutis. So, with the help of the dhyana mantra, bhaktas were able to imagine, to some degree, what Lord Krsna and Lord Shiva looks like.

In contrast, nowadays, Sadguru Baba has provided much more information in written form which can be passed down from generation to generation - along with the varabhaya mudra photo. In addition, He has given all kinds of explanations about abhidhyana in various discourses. And for those sadhakas who delve deeper into various relations or bhavas, it becomes more complex.

In that case, Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji's dhyana mantra would need to explain everything, which is not so easy. Because no matter how long of a dhyana mantra people compose, it could never be on par with the vast amount of information which we already have in the form of photos and His wide gamut of literature.

That said, the overall idea of a dhyana mantra is ok if something apocalyptic were to occur; though, it is an illusion that such a doomsday event could transpire. But suppose that really everything did get destroyed, including all of His photos etc, then in that circumstance it would be extremely helpful to have a dhyana mantra of Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji in order to get an idea of what He looks like.

in Him,
Nat'esha

The science of knowing past lives

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "Question: What is the scope of parapsychology?"

"Answer: Parapsychology links up the gaps between one life and another – it links up the gaps life after life. So, parapsychology is the science which links up our present life with our past lives."

"There are many instances where children remember their past lives. This is alright for children up to twelve or thirteen years of age, as their personalities are weak and still developing. After twelve or thirteen childrens' personalities become stronger, and if they still have memories of their past lives they will develop dual personalities. The mind will start to think, “Am I this person or that person?” They will fail to find the link in their lives. Their brains will not be able to adjust and they will die."

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "The field of parapsychology is still very underdeveloped. It should be developed, but it is a very difficult field to develop. Why has the field of parapsychology not developed? Because it is spiritual in nature and it cannot be developed by non-spiritualists."

"Parama Puruśa knows everything. He can see into a person’s past even ten thousand or twenty thousand years ago. For human beings to see into their past they need the help of their nerve cells and nerve fibres, but once they die their nerve cells are destroyed. So how is it possible for people to see into their past?"

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "Parama Puruśa can link up all the past lives of people because He has supra-occult power. Only Parama Puruśa has this power and no one else. He does not need the help of the nerve cells or nerve fibres because everything exists in the Cosmic Mind. Therefore, Parama Puruśa does not need to link up all the individual minds – just by His will He can see all the unit minds." (1)

Having human body is not enough to be called as human

Ananda Marga ideology says, "Those who have established themselves in their spiritual being through the practice of spiritual cult are the real human beings. Others, who do not move on the subtler and sublime path of spirituality, and behave like animals, are humans only in name. Human beings alone have the privilege to do sa'dhana'. Animals, because of their intellectual deficiencies, are unable to adhere to the spiritual cult..."
"Human beings, on the other hand, have the capacity to develop even in the spiritual realm. Those who do not pay heed to this special gift are animals, nay, even worse than animals. Animals are unable to make efforts for their spiritual development, whereas humans do have this ability." (1)

Note: Generally people think everyone with a human body as being human, but according to Baba's above teaching all are not human. In the above guideline Baba differentiates how and why.

This earth is not permanent abode

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "Human beings come onto this earth for a very short period, and within this short period they are required to complete everything. So there is a great deal of work to be done, but the time is very short. Thus intelligent people make the best use of every moment of their time - wasting one's time is the height of foolishness. Why? Because no human being will remain on this earth for long, and the very goal of human life is to attain Parama Purusa, the Supreme Stance. Human beings, while moving forward towards that Goal which is fixed before their minds, will have to perform many worldly duties. That is why it is said, 'Keep one hand on the feet of Parama Purus'a, and with the other hand do your mundane duties'." (1)

Advancing the social cycle + 2 more

Baba
Advancing the social cycle

Note: According to AM philosophy, there are good vaeshyas and vaeshyan exploiters. This letter primarily focuses on the exploitation that occurs at the culmination of the vaeshyan era. However, at the very end is a subheading and explanation defining who is a good vaeshya.

Namaskar,

A quick study of the social cycle shows that during the capitalist / tycoon era most everyone is exploited by the capitalists / tycoons. The dishonest capitalists purchase writers to express their agenda, artists to advertise their products, intellectuals to expound their theories, and laborers to construct their buildings. Nearly every person in every sphere of life gets reduced to being a cog in the dishonest capitalist machinery.
http://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Of that exploited mass, the vast majority are shudras / labourers - i.e. those completely unaware that they are being exploited. Such shudras / labourers pass their days in material pursuits and animalistic enjoyments, hoping and dreaming that one day “their ship will come in” and they will become part of the billionaire class. Shudras / labourers do not think about spirituality or social causes; and, they are verily blind to their own hopeless condition as well. Their mind is drowned in ignorance. They are the true pawns of vaeshyan (tycoons) exploitation.

Types of people in society

Here is more about the main classes:

(1) Who are shudras: Shudras [labour class] do not have any type of intellectual inclination. Shudras / labourers do not care about anything, i.e. any greater goal or heroic work. They are only concerned with the most mundane aspects of life: eating, drinking, sleeping, indulgence, and entertainment etc. They are the living dead. Examples of shudras / labourers are: construction workers, truck drivers, sweepers, manual laborers. Those shudras who understand that they are getting exploited are viksubdha shudras [awakened people].

(2) Who are ksatriyas: Ksatriyas [martial-minded people] are not inclined in the intellectual realm; rather they take orders from others. They are not debaters - just they follow the order and do and die in adhering to their chain of command. Examples of ksatriyas: firefighters, police, soldiers, military personnel, guards, good vigilantes etc. Those ksatriyas  [martial-minded people] who understand that they are getting exploited are viksubdha shudras [awakened people].

(3) Who are vipras: Vipras [intellectual class] are those who have intellectual inclination and have the tendency to do mental work. They possess a certain psychic motivation and are generally guided by a particular philosophical or theoretical agenda. According to what motivates them, those vipras choose a job and pursue that occupation. They are teachers, professors, lawyers, clerks, and writers. Those enlisted professions and more are positions held by vipras. Vipras fight for their agenda. Those vipras who understand that they are getting exploited are viksubdha shudras [awakened people].
http://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

(4) Who are vaeshyas:
Vaeshyas [tycoons] have a very unique quality. They think about money the whole day - how to grow their business, increase profits, and earn maximum money. In their life, money is paramount. For the holy dollar, they are ready to sacrifice everything. They can sell their daughters, wife, or themselves and ruin their own prestige etc for the sake of money. There is nothing they cannot do for money. They will cheat anyone and everyone to get money. They can do anything for material wealth.

(5) Who are viksubdha shudras: Viksubdha shudras [awakened people] are those in the society who are conscious of their rights and protest; they are awakened shudras / labourers. Those shudra, ksatriyas, and vipras who understand that they are getting exploited are viksubdha shudras, i.e. awakened labor force.

Leaders are dominated by a particular class

There are four outlooks (vipra, vaeshya (corrupt rich man), ksatriya [martial-minded people], and shudra) in any era in a given country, one class is ruling over the others. In certain countries, the ksatriyas [martial-minded people] dominate and rule over the other three. And in some countries, vipras [intellectual class] rule over the others; and, in other areas, the vaeshyas [tycoons] rule over the other classes. This is the phenomenon that occurs in different regions of the world. One or another class is ruling a given country. For example, in Iran the vipran era is in vogue as the Muslim clerics are ruling; they are in the last phase of the vipran era. In Saudi Arabia, it is the ksatriyan age - some may think that the vipras are ruling in Saudi Arabia but in truth they are under ksatriyan rule. And ksatriyas [martial-minded people] are also holding the reins in North Korea. While the big countries like the US, China, and India are in the vaeshyan (dishonest rich men) era.
http://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

How ksatriyas & vipras lose their qualities

One thing to know is that during the vaeshyan [tycoon] era, the ksatriyas [martial-minded people] and vipras [intellectual class] are not typical shudras. Due to serious exploitation by the rich exploiters, they lost their original quality - i.e. that of a vipra or ksatriya etc. And now they live like shudras due to circumstance. For want of money they became slaves of the dishonest rich. For example:

(a) If someone was a martial-minded person then to keep their job, under the order of rich exploiters they may have to terrorise an innocent person. Internally, they do not want to harass innocent people but they have to if they want to keep their job. So they lost their inherent quality of being a good ksattirya [martial-minded person]. Instead they have been reduced to being a shudra in order to keep their job. So they are unhappy. That is why they are called unhappy shudras or awakened shudras.

(b) And, in the case of intellectuals, a similar thing is going on. To keep their job those intellectuals have to write and argue against their conscience for pennies. They are not well-paid, and they have to give up their principles. So they too have lost their inherent quality. They are no longer good vipras but have been reduced to being a shudra. They are unhappy shudras / labourers because they have been stripped of their quality.

These two classes - the intellectual class and the martial-minded people - lose their qualities under the pressure of the dishonest rich capitalists. Due to vaeshayan exploitation, they become shudras (almost animals) and are unhappy because of compromising their principle for very little pay. They become outspoken against the rich exploiters. Such types of people are assets for bringing revolution. Vikshubdha shudra means being unhappy. They are pressured into circumstances where they become shudras (almost animals). They are awakened shudras, and they will bring revolution. We have to educate them. Such people can be found in the labour movement.
http://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Conclusion

Viksubdha shudras / awakened labourers have an awakened social conscience. They are keenly aware about vaeshyan (dishonest rich men) exploitation and have a burning desire within to stand up against capitalist / tycoon exploitation. So viksubdha shudras / awakened labourers are the catalysts for shudra revolution. And when those viksubdha shudras / awakened labourers are ksatriya-minded, then they use their physical might to provoke a bloody revolution. And when those viksubdha shudras / awakened labourers are vipra-minded, then they use their intellect to stir up a bloodless revolution. In either case, the viksubdha shudras / awakened labourers are an essential component in the fight against and overthrow of vaeshyan (dishonest rich men) rule.

According to Prout philosophy, viksubdha shudras / awakened labourers are those vipra-minded shudras or ksatriya-minded shudras who have become awakened about vaeshyan exploitation, and are ready to undertake the long, arduous struggle against capitalist / tycoon rule. Our duty is to support, educate, and inspire all such vikshubha shudras and help their numbers grow.

In Him,
Ekbuddhi

Important point:

Some confused people may think that vikranti (counter-evolution) is the strategic tool of the sadvipras, but actually vikranti (counter-evolution) marks the defeat of the revolutionaries. Initially, the revolutionaries were successful in bringing evolution and ushered in that new era, but the exploiters fought back and destroyed all the revolutionaries, or put them in jail. So society reverted back to the prior era. That is called vikranti. As an example, suppose society was in the ksatriyan era and then advanced to the vipran era, however those ksatriyas used all their might to regain control; in that case, that is vikranti because society went back to that prior era, i.e. ksatriyan rule.

~ In-depth study ~

Ananda Marga ideology states, “Revolution means a great change. In order to bring about such a change it is not inevitable that there will be killing and bloodshed. If the kśatriya-minded viksubdha shudras [awakened labourers] are in the majority, or are most influential, however, the revolution will indeed come about through bloody clashes. Iit cannot be unequivocally stated that a revolution can never be brought about through intellectual clash, without bloodshed – it is possible, if there are a large number of influential vipra-minded shúdras among the viksubdha shudras [awakened labourers].” (1)

Ananda Marga ideology states, “Whether they have kśatriya [martial-minded people] intellects or vipras intellects, the viksubdha shudras [awakened labourers] who take over the leadership of the shúdra revolution are kśatriyas in terms of their courage, personal force and capacity to take risks.” (2)

Ananda Marga ideology states, “As a result of vaeshya exploitation, those having kśatriya or vipra mentalities are transformed into the...[awakened] slaves of the vaeshyas. They have no alternative but to toil at the behest of the vaeshyas to fill their bellies. Those kśatriyas  [martial-minded people] and vipras who are turned into shúdras under circumstantial pressure carry a simmering discontent in their hearts. This group are known as the “viksubdha shudras [awakened labourers]” or the “...[awakened] workers”. These...[awakened] workers – the exploited vipras and kśatriyas – give systematic expression to the frustrations of the masses to end vaeshya exploitation. This is the class with revolutionary distinction.” (3)

Few enjoy at the cost of many

The function of a sadvipra shall, therefore, be to see that the dominating or the ruling classes do not have any scope for exploitation. The moment one class turns into exploiters, the life of the majority becomes miserable; a few enjoy at the cost of many whose lot is only to suffer. More than that, in such a state of society both the few and the many get degenerated. The few (exploiters) degenerate themselves due to [an] excess of physical enjoyments and the many (exploited) cannot elevate themselves, because all their energy is taken up in mundane problems and all their mental waves are always tending to attain psycho-physical parallelism, thus getting day by day cruder. Hence, for the physical, mental and spiritual welfare of the administrator and the administered of the society as a whole, it is essential that no one be given any scope to exploit the rest of the society.
http://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Beggar vs sadvipra

Ananda Marga ideology says, “According to our philosophy, when consciousness arises in individual life then a person begins to move in accordance with certain instructions, certain guidance. In collective life as well, when this stage comes, those who are well advanced, who understand better, who are more courageous, more firmly established in morality, who are truly righteous, they have to take the lead, to assume the mantle of leadership. In such times those who worry about what others will say or think, or worry about being criticized, and due to this fear hide behind closed doors thinking that if they take action their good name will be tarnished, such people are not true human beings. They are beggars, begging for reputation. They have no manliness; they have lost the courage to move ahead. At that time those who come forward and say – “Let’s go. I’m with you. If trouble comes, let it come. I’ll take it on my shoulders” – such people I have given the name sadvipra.” (4)

New era at our doorsteps

Ananda Marga ideology says, “This is the way it has been and the way it will always be. However, in collective life at the critical juncture between one great age and another, in this transitional stage of great change, when it becomes impossible for the common man or even ordinary sadvipras to take up the leadership, then Parama Puruśa through his special grace arranges that leadership. At this time on the earth humanity is witnessing such a yuga sandhi. On one side there is the rubbish heap of the past and people are clinging to that rubbish heap because they have not yet been shown the way out. And on the other side, there is the call of the new. Under such conditions what will that Mahásambhúti do who gave guidance to the human race in the past? With courage he will call to human beings and declare: “Give up the rubbish of the past. It can only harm you and lead you to your death. Move ahead. Answer the call of the new. I am with you. There is no reason to be afraid.” (5)

Definition of good vaeshya

A good vaeshya is one who has fully embraced the ethic and outlook of Baba's below teaching.

Prout philosophy states, "None of the movable or immovable property of this universe belongs to any particular individual; everything is the common patrimony of all, and the Father of all is Brahma. All living beings can enjoy their rightful share of this property, like members of a joint family in the Dáyabhága system. As members of a joint family, human beings should safeguard this common property in a befitting manner and utilize it properly. They should also make proper arrangements so that everyone can enjoy it with equal rights, ensuring that all have the minimum requirements of life to enable them to live in a healthy body with a sound mind."
"We must not forget, even for a single moment, that the entire animate world is a vast joint family. Nature has not assigned any portion of this property to any particular individual. Private ownership has been created by selfish opportunists, as the loopholes in this system provide them with ample scope for self-aggrandizement through exploitation. When the entire wealth of the universe is the common patrimony of all living beings, can the system in which some roll in luxury, while others, deprived of a morsel of food, shrivel up and starve to death bit by bit, be said to have the support of dharma?" (6)

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "The meaning of the word sadvipra is “a person who is a moralist and a spiritualist and who fights against immorality”. Earning money in a sinful way or accumulating great wealth is against the fundamental principles of Prout. It will be quite impossible for people who are not following the fundamental principles of Prout to bring about shúdra revolution." (7)

Feeling His bliss

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “It is said about the way in which the Paramátmá [Supreme Soul] can be seen in the átmá: In the same way that something can be seen in a mirror, a person can see the Paramátmá by analysing the átmá...Just as a reflection is seen in water, Parama Puruśa can be found in the gandharvaloka, that is, in the study of musical science." (1)

Note: Everyone knows that in our Ananda Marga philosophy it is explained that atma is a reflection of Paramatma. It is just like seeing the reflection of the sun in a mud puddle. It is not actually the sun but a reflection. That is similar to how our atma is a reflection of Paramatma.

When bhaktas do kiirtana and bhajan in a very intense way then a deep vibration is felt in the mind and a blissful feeling comes. That blissful feeling of intense kiirtan is coming from the gandhavarloka - i.e. higher state of mind. In other words, from a lower state your mind gradually reaches a higher state where you feel that special bliss which is gandhavarloka. Those who are good sadhakas have realised this in their life many times.
