Harmful to spiritual flow + 4 more

Baba
Harmful to spiritual flow

Namaskar,

Every human being has bhakti and an innate longing to become great. Plus, everyone has the very sincere desire to satisfy that longing. Unfortunately, along the way, some get caught up in undesirable activities.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Sincere, but misguided

For instance, take the case of Hindus sacrificing goats to the gods. They do this as a sincere expression of their desire to serve the Supreme, i.e. bhakti. But this is a dogmatic ritual that will not bring them any closer to God. Rather, their harmful ways lead them in the opposite direction. Even then, these worshipers think that their practice of sacrificing goats is good and will allow them to reach God. So they are sincere, but misguided.

Such static rituals and traditional forms of worship are present in all the dogmatic religions. Thus, even though all have bhakti, vivek and knowledge are also needed to express that spiritual longing, i.e. bhakti, in a proper way. Now let's see how these above ideas relate with our spiritual life and Prabhat Samgiita.

Which song is for whom

First off, we have to remember that Ananda Marga philosophy is not just for Ananda Margiis, but for the entire humanity. For instance: Soon the whole world will be following the ways of Prout, whether they be margii or not. Likewise, the remedies in Yogic Treatments are for everyone; and, the various grammar books are to be studied in all schools around the globe. In the same way, the Prabhat Samgiita collection is for the whole humanity - not just to the relatively small number of people who are Ananda Margiis.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Here then comes the crux of the matter. Those Prabhat Samgiita compositions that state, "O' Lord Krsna, please come in my heart”, are for non-margiis. And those songs which say, "O' Prabhu, please come in my heart, come in my mind", are for Ananda Margiis. Here Prabhu means Lord and that can easily be goaded to Ista (i.e. nearest and dearest One), Lord Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji. Side by side, those non-margiis can also use this song in their own way.

So the grand collection of Prabhat Samgiita is for everyone - His divine compositions are for all. As Ananda Margiis, we should sing only those songs which goad the mind toward Baba, not any other. In our spiritual practices, we should only sing those songs that address Lord Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji.

Certainly we may learn the songs about Lord Shiva and Lord Krsna; by that way we can best introduce non-margiis to those compositions. But we will not use those songs in our own personal, spiritual practices and programs.

16 points: the point of Ista

Here the important key point is Ista. For Ananda Margiis, the Ista is not Lord Shiva or Lord Krsna. Although Lord Shiva, Lord Krsna, and Baba are all the same, in theory. The same Divine Entity came three different times, in three different forms, with three different names. But for Ananda Margiis, Ista is not three, but rather one. Only Baba Lord Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji is the Ista. So we must not chant, "O Lord Krsna, please come in my heart." That is not beneficial - that is against point #10 of Sixteen Points: Non-compromising strictness and faith regarding the sanctity of Ista.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Even then, some may naively wonder, "What is wrong if I sing those songs about Lord Shiva and Lord Krsna. I call out to all three Taraka Brahmas because if one fails to respond then at least one of the other two will do something and solve my problem." But unfortunately that method does not work. About this dilemma, please read the story about the sick father.

Sick father & three sons story

Once there was a father who was suffering from a sickness. He called out to his sons, "O' Tom, Dick, Harry, I need medicine. Please go to the store and bring my medicine." All three sons listened very sincerely to their father's request. The eldest son, Tom, immediately thought that the youngest (Harry) will get it. And Harry thought Tom would get it. And Dick thought one of his brothers would get the medicine. Later, in the middle of the night, the father called out to his sons, "O Tom, Dick, Harry, now is the time I need my medicine." All three sons looked at each other and realised that no one had gotten the medicine. Now all the shops were closed and father's condition was not good. In short, disaster had struck. And there was nothing to be done in that late hour.

If the father had specifically asked one of his sons to get the medicine, then that son would have done it. Then the problem would have been averted. Asking all three sons at the same time was a mistake. The father learned his lesson. This same theory holds true in the realm of bhakti as well. Worshiping multiple deities is not going to bring the desired outcome. How is one going to be graced when their mind is divided in multiple directions. The mind must be pointed in one direction. In the field of bhakti, the sadhaka must be singular in approach.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Misguided worshipers ruin their sadhana

Here is Baba's key and colorful teaching on misguided worshipper.

Sadguru Baba says, "A person whom I was very close to, a relative of mine, used to recite the following after taking bath: “Victory to mother Káli, victory, victory to Káli, victory to mother Káli of T́han T́haniá, victory to mother Káli of Dakśińeshvar, victory to Bábá Táraknáth, victory to Bábá Vaidyanath of Deoghar. O, Fathers! None of you should think that I am leaving out someone's name.” After this he would say, “O, gods and goddesses, please forgive me if I have omitted any name inadvertently. Please assume that I have mentioned your name also.” Does this yield anything at all? One says “victory to mother Káli of Kálighát” and in the same breath one says “victory to mother Káli of T́han T́haniá.” It signifies that the mind is moving both towards Kálighát and T́han T́haniá. Can the mind become concentrated in this way? Certainly not." (1)

Every bhakta in Ananda Marga must be singularly pointed on Ista, and only ideate on Lord Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji. There is no other way.

Namaskar,
In Him alone,
Shriidhara

So the overall topic is Prabhat Samgiita and which songs are best for Ananda Margiis to sing - from a purely spiritual perspective.

Baba has explained that every human being in this cosmos has bhakti; not only that, but even developed animals have bhakti. Undeveloped animals have bhakti too, but it is in latent form. So even developed animals have their animal bhakti and desire to be great. When they see something or someone bigger and stronger than they are, then they stop and look with awe at that entity. That means they accept that entity as greater than themselves. Reverence towards someone great is their bhakti. You can visibly see this in all kinds of tamed animals. That is the main reason why intelligent animals have accepted human beings as their masters and have taken shelter under human care and direction. For them, their master is everything. They have bhakti toward their master - just as intelligent human beings have bhakti for Parama Purusa. Actually, those animals do not know that there is someone greater than their human master - they do not know there is Parama Purusa. The moment they know about Parama Purusa they will salute Him and develop loyalty and surrender to the Divine Entity.

Charming attraction

"Toma'r ka'che ca'ite giye lajja' peye ela'm phire..." (Prabhat Samgiita #0652)

Purport:

When I came to You I was thinking to request You to grant me some boons. I came to You harbouring so many worldly desires. But without asking for anything at all, I returned in shyness because I understood that You know and fulfill all my needs and requirements far better than I. Baba, all within Your mind.

Baba, whatever little I know about myself, and whatever I think is mine, You know exponentially more than that. Whatever my needs may be, You go on giving without my even asking.

Baba, You are my eternal Bandhu and have saturated my heart with Your colourful, charming attraction and affection. Everything will undergo change in this transitory universe, but the garland of love which has been born in my thoughts and mixed with divine love will never perish. Baba, You are most loving…

Why born as male or female

Ananda Marga ideology states, "Jiivátmá is neither a male nor a female, nor a hermaphrodite. For the proper expression of one's latent samskáras [reactive momenta] one gets reborn into the body of a woman or a man or sometimes a hermaphrodite. There is no question of high or low, superior or inferior, noble or ignoble because whatever might be the sex of the body, the jiivátmá is just the witnessing faculty of the mind it is attached to. It is unassailed by the sexual differences of the quinquelemental bodies. The unexpressed psychic reactions (samskáras) of the disembodied soul are guided by the Cosmic Mind and adjusted with a proper structure, at a proper time and a proper place, providing a congenial environment for the expression of the unrequited samskáras. Depending upon the nature of the samskáras there is either the predominance of the tendency to attract (samyojanii shakti) or the predominance of the tendency to be attracted (vibhájanii shakti). The nature of the force of attraction is to draw the object of enjoyment towards itself, and the nature of the force which is attracted is to move towards the object of enjoyment. When there is dominance of samyojanii shakti in one's latent saḿskáras, the disembodied soul attains a female body for its outward expression, and conversely where there is a dominance of vibhájanii shakti, it attains a male body. Where there is an approximate balance between the two, the disembodied soul attains the body of a hermaphrodite. Of course, even in the hermaphrodite the balance between saḿyojanii and vibhájanii shaktis is not perfect; there is a slight tilt in favour of one or the other. That's why some hermaphrodites are more inclined towards masculinity, and some, femininity." (1)

How to live long

Ananda Marga ideology says, "Spiritual practice makes the mind calm and quiet, and maintains the nerves in a state of equipoise; and thus spiritual practice increases longevity. Those Vaishnavites who are vegetarians, who regularly sing spiritual songs, do meditation, perform virtuous deeds and think pure thoughts, live longer than ninety years." (1)

Note: By following the spiritual cult of Ananda Marga and abiding by general health rules every sadhaka is ensured a long and healthy life. That is Baba's guarantee.

Unfortunate plight of mammary glands

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "There are fishes who carry something like a sack inside their bodies and they carry their children in those sacks. There are some snakes who also take their children with them. Not only have they inborn instinct, but they have something more, that is, they have love and affection for their children. This is also true of some species of snakes, but love and affection for their children is more prominent in mammals. Mammals are more developed than non-mammals because in the case of mammals mothers feed the children with their breast-milk and certainly they have got affection for their children -- that is why they do so." (1)

Note: Mothers of financially poorer countries generally keep their babies along with them and breastfeed their infants. But the case is different with some mothers in the so-called developed nations where certain mothers do not want to breastfeed their infants nor do they want to keep their infants along with them.

Even when those mothers are not working in the office and go shopping etc, then also they do not want to feed their infants when the baby is hungry. Rather they give the infant bottled milk. You might have noticed that in public places where females are in a majority there is not an allotted place for mothers to comfortably feed the baby.

Sadly, in materialistic societies, the mammary glands are treated as a sex organ, not an organ for feeding the child. The loser is the infant. Nature made this gland for the child. But now that utility is almost gone and those glands have become a sex tool.  And it is propagated in that way through the mass media and the larger society. That is why kids are deprived and mothers do not like to breastfeed.

And with those who do breastfeed, those mothers often cover themselves with a towel whereby the baby feels suffocated and cannot feed itself in a comfortable manner. You can imagine that if someone covered you with a thick towel while you were taking food then you would get frustrated, stop taking your food, and get out from there. So the child remains hungry.

Due to this entire situation, those children are not emotionally developed, become criminals, and engage in anti-social dealings.

So in comparison to those animals we have to see how far the situation stands. Because, per Guru’s above teaching, those mammals and animals do love and care for their offspring; accordingly, then humans are more advanced so they should express more love. And mothers of poor countries do like that. But the strange thing is that some mothers from the so-called advanced countries….

Using Baba's above teaching as a scale, we have to judge whether such mothers are really developed or moving in the opposite direction.

How party politics ruins humanity

Prout philosophy states, “Party politics is one of the factors which stands, or tries to stand, in the way of human unity. In fact party politics is even more dangerous than disease-causing germs. In party politics all the refined attributes of the human mind, such as simplicity and the spirit of service, slowly but surely get totally destroyed. Party affiliation commands more respect than individual ability; service to self, not service to people, is the main motto; ministerial office, rather than human welfare, is considered superior; and mass deception, political somersaults, etc., are most common phenomena."

"Instead of rectifying themselves, politicians want to accomplish everything through their grandiloquence. By identifying the weaknesses in others and by resorting to bombastic language, they incite one section of people against another so that they can usurp the seat of power and cling to it. Human beings will have to remain vigilant against persons of this type."

"Politicians want to poke their noses into every aspect of life: social, religious, educational, literary, etc. Under the hypnotic spell of power, politicians remain oblivious of the fact that experience and wisdom in various spheres of life cannot be acquired by merely mouthing high-sounding slogans from public platforms." Middle East issue:
formation of countries on the basis of religion is deadly

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Many people consider their temple to be the only sacred place of worship. But the funny thing is that the builders who construct temples are unholy people or untouchables, and are thus barred from entering their premises. Each religion has its own scriptures. Some scriptures are worshipped with such reverence that they are treated as deities. But the paper on which the scripture was written, and the printing and binding of the book were perhaps done by people of other religions. But once the book is complete it is transformed into a holy scripture and those who made it will not have the right to even touch it. In fact, not only the holy scriptures, but all books are considered as a symbol of the goddess of learning. To pay obeisance to the book by repeatedly touching the forehead with it is apart of religious observance. Many people spend huge sums of money to make an idol of clay only to immerse it in a river with pomp and ceremony to conclude the religious festival. But if the people of other religions happen to break even a finger of that idol terrible bloodshed will ensue. Thus, those who advocate the formation of countries on the basis of religious faith will cause irreparable damage by fragmenting human society.”

“Human beings readily accept traditions without seeking the reasons behind them. Since ancient days the semitic people have been observing the practice of circumcision. Moses and Mohammed accepted     this system which today has become tradition. The ancient Austrics used to worship the Sun. Their purpose was to please the Sun God and be blessed with heavy rainfall and bumper harvests. In the social system of the Austrics, women had a predominant role. Thus, in the system of worship and other religious ceremonies, the priest had no significant role. Even the Sun God was looked upon as a female deity and the Moon was a male God. The Sun God was addressed as “mother” and the worship done in her honour was called “Chat Puja”. Even today in Magadh Chat Puja is held twice a year during the harvest time. The sentiment of Chat Puja was so deeply rooted in Magadh that their system of worship is in vogue even today even after such tremendous Aryan, Buddhist and Moslem influence. Of course, in the external rituals of worship some changes have taken place, but the system of worship has not yet become extinct. Even the Moslems participate in the Chat Puja. In some areas they themselves organize the ritual and in other places they get the puja performed through the Hindus. This Chat Puja has now become a tradition. There was a time in Bengal when the Moslems used to worship Satyanáráyańa or the Oláicánd.”

“From the above discussion it is apparent that religions engender hatred for others, blind faith, etc. in the minds of their followers. Through such religions it is next to impossible to establish unity in the society. Religious differences should be minimized as much as possible, but it should be remembered that blind faith in a religion cannot be forcibly eliminated. To strike at any type of sentiment will only cause that sentiment to grow stronger. Psychological methods will have to be employed to make people realize the irrational nature of blind religious faith. This requires a rational interpretation of philosophy through enlightened intellect. When the human mind is gripped by the fear psychology it gives indulgence to blind faith rather than logic and reason. If human fear is removed through logic and reason, the very basis for blind faith will be weakened. That is why human beings will have to be taught philosophical doctrines in a rational way. Furthermore, to remove the psycho-sentiment for a particular physical object, either the object itself should be removed or, by changing the very outlook through scientific and humanitarian reasoning, the person concerned should be separated from that sentimental object. For example, those who perform religious ceremonies in worship of the moon will find it difficult to continue their practice once, due to scientific advancement, they actually get the opportunity to walk on the moon. Blind faith must be removed through the application of science and humanistic appeals. People will have to be united under the common banner of one religion.” (1)

Human history & upcoming festival + 4 more

Baba

Human history & upcoming festival

Namaskar,

Since prehistoric times, the human race has had an arduous and long journey up to this present era. Verily, it was long ago that humans first came onto this earth.

Ananda Marga ideology says, "Human beings were born onto this earth about one million years ago." (1)

Yet those early humans were quite undeveloped in their ways. Due to so many hardships and the struggle for survival, those early humans could not advance.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "In prehistoric times people were no better than animals. There was no difference between primitive humans living in caves and ape-men and proto-apes living in caves." (2)

So for tens and even hundreds of thousands of years, humans were just wallowing in animalistic ways, unable to develop mentally or live in a remotely civilised way.

First signs of progress

Considering that humans came on this earth so very long ago, it was only relatively recently that they could progress.

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "Humanity’s journey on the path of civilization started only 15,000 years ago. This can be inferred from the fact that human beings began evolving language about this time." (3)

So it was around 15,000 years ago, that those few early rishis and munis first propounded the vedas and began asking existential questions such as, “Who am I”, “From where have I come”, and “What is the goal of life.” Thus began the human quest for truth and divine realisation.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Advent of two Mahasambhutis

However, it would still take thousands of more years for the general society to also begin its advancement.

Ananda Marga philosophy guides us, "A full-fledged civilization, with the four symbols of advancement – agriculture, the wheel, dress and script – started only about 7000 years ago. Human beings had grasped the rudimentals of these four inventions by this time. Pictorial letters were invented less than 7000 years ago, and philosophy was discovered about 4000 years ago." (4)

Thus it was only 7000 years ago with the advent of Lord Shiva that human beings could live in a more organised and civilised way. It needed the advent of a Mahasambhuti to pull human beings up to this respectable level where they could formulate the basis of a civilised society. And that progress continued for some time but then stalled. At that point, 3500 years later, the next Mahasambhuti took advent on this earth. With Shrii Krsna's advent, humans progressed in many ways, including how to make a more personal link with God. But even then the progress was slow as it took humanity hundreds and thousands of years to realise Sri Krsna's teachings. Not until the birth of great bhaktas like Mirabai and Caetanya Mahaprabhu could people get a glimpse of Krnsa's intimate guidelines - and even then many of His teachings were lost. And in due course once again the society fell into stagnancy.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Baba's divine advent & Shravanii Purnima

And that stagnancy and depravity became worse and worse up until the 20th century. Materialism, communism, atheism, and religious dogmas covered the earth. There was no light in any direction, and even the good people could not find the way to pull society forward. In that desperate and bleak circumstance, where people were sunk in gloom, ignorance, and suffering, there was a dire need for the advent of a Great Personality.

So although the organisation Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha was not formed until 1955, the great ideological and bhakti-filled mission of Ananda Marga formally began years earlier in 1939 with the first initiation on Shravanii Purnima.

Humanity has new pathway

Hence the day of Shravanii Purnima bears great significance because it is this very initiation into Ananda Marga sadhana that marks the beginning of a new era for humanity.

Ananda Vanii says, "...The light of sa'dhana' shall dispel the thick darkness, notwithstanding the night of the pangs of humanity. Sunshine is destined in human life." (5)

So on Shravanii Purnima (1939), Baba graced humanity by founding His ideological mission and beginning the bhakti-inspired practice of Ananda Marga sadhana. We can say this day truly marks the inception of Ananda Marga. And each year we observe this special occasion as one of our Ananda Marga festivals. And it is not just a festival of Ananda Marga, it is a day that bears significance to all. Because Baba's teachings are for everyone-- the entire humanity. None will be left behind; all will be served and respected; and all will be given the opportunity and scope to advance on the path of spirituality.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

By His divine advent and with the teaching of sadhana, Baba has given a pathway for all to progress onward and establish themselves in the highest glory and drift in His bliss.

Present & future vanguards of society

Thus Shravanii Purnima is the occasion that celebrates how the Lord has come with a mission and showed the path to all. And since 1939, those who have come onto the path of Ananda Marga sadhana and taught that dharma to others, they are the veritable vanguards of the society. They are the venerable ones. And those who are now following the ideological mission and bhakti-based practices of Ananda Marga today will one day be venerated by others. Baba has given the pathway, and those humans who share that with others and watch over society's progress are the true vanguards.

Sadguru's blessing

We are fortunate to have come on the path of Ananda Marga. It is this very path that will lead true sadhakas and the entire humanity to the apex of our human existence - life divine. And it is this very path which began on Shravanii Purnima day in 1939. As the festival of this day is again upon us, may we all experience His bliss and blessing on this most momentous and memorable occasion and share that love with one and all.

In Him,
Satyadrasta’

In 1939, the Lord Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji began the holy mission of Ananda Marga. And it is this dharmic mission that will lead the entire humanity to unparalleled glory.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

First spiritual initiation

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "At the transitional point, human beings become confused: they lose the ability to discriminate between dharma and adharma, what they should and what they should not do. At that moment, the advent of a great personality becomes an imperative necessity... to teach people what dharma is and what adharma is, what to do and what not to do, and which path would bring the highest fulfilment in their lives. He arrived at the right time, the transitional period in history." (6)

Baba blessed us by taking advent and manifested Himself in 1921, this divine truth we all know. And it was only a short 18 years later, on the day of Shravanii Purnima in 1939, that He began the great mission of Ananda Marga by initiating His first disciple into Ananda Marga sadhana. It was His grace.

Baba says, "This is Shra'van'ii Purnima. It is an important day....That was the first spiritual initiation I ever imparted to anyone. And that same day, Shra'van'ii Purnima, has again returned." (7)

O’ followers of Ananda Marga

Ananda Marga ideology says, "Yours should be a glorious march towards the Supreme Goal, and you should remember that you are not to pause a moment during this movement. The entire human society is anxiously waiting for you, for your service. You will have to shoulder a great responsibility for this suffering humanity. You know that humanity is bleeding, and you will have to save it. You should remember that if you do not help humanity, who else will come and shoulder the responsibility? It is you, you are to do everything. You are the torch bearers of human civilization. You are the pioneers of the human march, you are the vanguards of the new civilization." (8)

Sadguru Baba says, "Oh! the followers of Ananda Marga, march along the path of satya and awaken the satya hidden in you. Develop the cosmic consciousness that is latent in you. In the same manner as Bhagiratha through his sagacious powers summoned the holy currents of the Gangottarii through the dark mountain-chasms. Through those currents of satya, enliven your society and carry it along on the path of the infinite ocean of inseparable souls which are awakening on the road to the Supreme Union – the holy confluence of the sea. When this is attained, there will be no mean wanderings or the externalized struggle for existence. There will be one Universal “You” who will forget is own self in the serenity of the serene, the serene, the exaltation of Consciousness and the holy touch of the supremely blessed." (9)

Longing of my heart

Note: Only those who sincerely practice the higher lessons of sahaja yoga meditation can understand this song in the depths of their heart.

"Prabhu tomár liilár chale, keno rákho more bhúliye…” (Prabhat Samgiita #0354)

Purport:

My Parama Purusa, with the magical display of avidya maya, You make me captivated with this world. I remain engrossed in mundane affairs and oblivious about You, most of the time. With Your divine play of hide and seek, You are keeping me forgetful about You. O’ Supreme Entity why You do like this. I have seen so much of Your liila, but now I want the Liila-Personified Parama Purusa. Baba, please do not keep me engrossed in material objects.

Magnificent Entity, my heart longs to have You and roll under Your pinkish feet - and surrender everything at Your altar. My whole existence is dedicated to You. I want to fulfil all Your orders. Utilise me as a machine in Your hand and use it the way You like. Make me Your medium to always do things the way You wish. Baba, my whole being is at Your disposal.

Baba, the days are coming and going, yet my time has been wasted in the merriment of eating, drinking, and sleeping. My life could not be utilised in proper work: sadhana and kiirtan. I could not do spiritual practices or perform social service in the real sense. Just my life is going on in vain, in an invisible way. Now please save me from this predicament.

Parama Purusa, please do not play Your liila with me by keeping Yourself distant anymore, kindly bless me...

Defining dogma

Ananda Marga ideology guides us, “What is dogma? Dogma is also an idea, but there is rigidity of the boundary line. Dogma will not allow you to go beyond the periphery of that boundary line. That is, dogma goes against the fundamental spirit of the human mind.” (1)

Note: Any idea which has a boundary around it is a dogma. In that case, one is not allowed to debate this idea in an open and free manner. Rather, any and all debates are contrived or forbidden. For instance, if one religious leader says that the first Sunday of every month one must touch the dog’s tail to get virtue for heaven, then that becomes the rule for that religion. And no one can question it. Here is another example. A few years ago a discussion was going on about MPD. In trying to defend the existence of mahaprayan, Dada K responded that this is beyond logic and reasoning. By this way, unknowingly he accepted that MPD is a dogma.

Weakness of democracy

INDIA — During Rahul Gandhi’s political speech at a recent rally, a congressman was distributing money to rented citizens (i.e. voters) and flag bearers. Sadly, these simple folk do not understand the value of their vote; and, instead, they are selling their franchise for 100RS. In that case, who can think that this type of democratic election will be fruitful. Rather, it is wrought with purchased voters. Indeed there was a rally where those political operatives were actually handing out rupee notes to the voters.

In His below teaching, Shrii Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar - the Propounder of Prout philosophy - warns us about the terrible weakness of democracy: the common people are not adequately educated or aware about the issues to properly participate in the democratic process. This is exemplified by the above scene.

Prout philosophy states, “Democracy is defined as “government of the people, by the people and for the people.” But in fact it is the rule of the majority. Hence democracy means “mobocracy” because the government in a democratic structure is guided by mob psychology. The majority of the society are fools; wise people are always in a minority. Thus, finally democracy is nothing but “foolocracy”.” (1)

Here below is a link to the video of the rally where those political operatives are handing out rupee notes to the voters.

Jinanis: no end of their justification

Here is an English summary of Baba’s Hindi teaching:
There is one defect in jinanis. Two jinanis cannot agree on any point. Among them, many jinanis believe that agreeing means accepting one’s defeat. Indeed there are some godly qualities in jinanis. Such as they can speak in flowery language. Or that with their grandiloquence they can prove day as night, and night as day. If in daytime one jinani tells to anyone that it is night, or if during the night they tell that it is day, and if the next person does not accept what the jinani is telling, then the jinani will use the their logic and reasoning to prove that person as a top-grade fool. And he (the jinani) will make it look like the next person could not understand this one simple thing. Because of this in the scriptures is it said, ‘Mathitva…’ Meaning: if an unfathomable amount of milk is turned into butter and whey, then jinanis argue and quarrel about the whey and in so doing the butter gets rotten and destroyed.

What about suffixing family name

Baba says, "Casteism is a burden on the Hindu society. All the year round they preach casteism but on the polling days they decry it. This is wholly undesirable. It is better to avoid all titles. Titles signify the caste. If casteism is to be wiped out, it is incumbent to discard the titles. It is commendable if everyone adopts uniformity on title – Deva. Persons using a particular word more often will influence their minds with the meaning of that word. People are reluctant to use the word dása because this word signifies slavery. Whenever the so-called low caste people catch an opportunity, they declare themselves as belonging to the so-called elevated caste, etc. It is an ideal to become deva and for this reason Deva title should be adopted." (1)

Baba says, "Titles of the present society have undergone considerable changes during the past fifty years, the cause being that everyone aspires to pertain to an elevated caste. The so-called Shúdras also use the sacred thread. This is only an effort towards the concealment of one’s identity. By this means, they conceal only their disregarded status. This is to be regretted. It is consequent on social debility that they harbour the desire for changes in their situations. It is out and out purposeless to convene All-India Conferences or particular castes. All of them desire to assert and establish their rights. This is simply misuses of energy and money." (1)

Baba says, "The consent of those embraced must be sought for before renaming them in Saḿskrta. Language has got nothing to do with religion and as such, there is no reason for anybody depreciating the use of Saḿskrta. In this connection it may be added that the great emperor Aurangzeb used the term sudhárasa (juice of nectar) for mango (original Saḿskrta term for mango is ámra) and saddharma for Islam." (1)

So many areas of the globe are affected by caste, race, and communal feeling. Here above Baba gives the perfect antidote and solution to such narrow-minded and harmful thinking.

Raksha bandhan undermines female autonomy + 4 more

Baba

Raksha bandhan undermines female autonomy

Note: This year the raksha bandhana dogma is on Fri, 28 Aug 2026.

Namaskar,

Sadguru Baba has granted women equal status, and He wants women to stand up for themselves and not seek shelter behind their male counterparts. In our AMPS, the women’s branch of VSS - i.e. GV (Girls Volunteers) - is proof of this. The duty of GV is to provide security to all females so those women need not depend upon males for protection. To ensure women stand independently, Baba has created numerous complementary departments solely for females including the wing, WWD.

Indoctrination into subservience

In the below image, the girl is getting indoctrinated into this dogmatic annual ritual of raksha bandhan where it is taught that girls cannot stand on their own feet for their security and safety. They have to depend upon males. It is taught that women are like creeper plants that cannot stand on their own and have to depend upon others. Since their infancy this dogma is imposed whereby females accept their lowly status in society by participating in this below ritual of tying thread around the protector's wrist. The girl is making a bond with the male to protect her over the course of her entire life. That is the symbolism of females tying the thread. Ananda Marga opposes this gross dogma. To destroy such types of dogma Baba has created a girls paramilitary organisation in every branch of AMPS.

So in the below photo the girl is surrendering to the boy and taking shelter in him as her protectorate. That is the significance and symbolism of tying a rakhi on the boy's wrist. For the rest of her life, that boy will be her guardian, signifying that that girl is incapable of defending herself. This is a negative and dogmatic tradition that wholly undermines the status and dignity of women and relegates them as being subservient to men. That is why as Ananda Margiis we wholly oppose the raksha banda ritual that occurs in India around this time of year. It is absolutely shocking that some of our very own participate in this degrading tradition.

Women’s militia is against RB dogma

In AMPS, all the militia branches related with males have a corresponding women’s militia as well - Prout, samaj, VSS etc. They all have their own women’s militia. For example, not only VSS but Prout also has a women’s militia, known as ‘Va’hinii’. So the female counterparts of each of these departments are not depending on males to protect them. Whereas those following the raksha bandhan dogma are going against the basic tenets of Ananda Marga. Due to their emotional nature, females are willingly getting exploited. In their naivete, they even feel proud to remain subservient. This is the pathetic condition across the Indian continent and anywhere else where this dogma is followed.

Those who naively and proudly declare that, “We follow raksha bandhan”, have no clue that what they are doing is against Baba’s fundamental teachings. If they use their rational brain they will be shocked and horrified by the blunder they’ve been committing all these years. This ritual of raksha bandhan enforces the dogma of female inferiority and subjugation which devilish vipras started in the ages of old. Due to their emotional nature, women willingly surrendered to those exploitative vipras. And the nastiness does not end here. Those males encouraging this are making their daughters and granddaughters cowards by injecting the inferiority complex that women are always dependent upon males. Such males are not worthy to raise and nurture girls. Under their care, girls will be cowards. Those girls will grow up thinking of themselves as being lowly and weak. This is the subtle message that is delivered year after year that, “You are inferior and you need the protection of males.” The whole thing is most unfortunate and pathetic.

Life of humiliation & insult = inert mind

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “This psychology has prevailed in India for a long time. A so-called low caste man will refuse to give you a tumbler of water out of fear because the feeling of inferiority built up over hundreds of years has been injected into his mind. For centuries so-called low caste people have lived a life of humiliation and insult, and consequently their minds have become inert. Tragically, they accept this condition as the result of their fate. Oppression occurs when you are opposed and punished for what you have done or for what you want to do, and as a result your desire to do something worthwhile dies forever. In Saḿskrta this is called “damana”.” (1)

The mentality Baba describes in His above teaching is also indicative of those so-called lower caste people who feel happy sitting on the ground. They will not sit in a chair next to you. Rather they prefer to sit on the ground and see you sitting in a chair. And if you bring them a chair to sit on they will feel horrified. To remove this deep complex all kinds of teachings and therapy are needed. The reason being their mind is completely repressed / oppressed. Their psyche has been moulded in that manner and the same can be said of Indian females suffering from the raksha bandhan dogma. If you ask them why they are doing this they will reply, “It is fine, I like doing this - I enjoy surrendering to males.” This mentality is also indicative of a terrible state of repression / oppression. They became completely habituated to that oppressed state. That is what Baba is describing in His above teaching.

Conclusion

Now is the time to bring this notion into our collective consciousness and ensure no one in AMPS gives an ounce of support to raksha bandhan dogma. Doing so means contributing to the exploitation of women and going against the teachings of Sadguru Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji.

By participating in rakhi, year after year, innocent females are cementing the idea in their mind that they are unable to stand up for themselves. Females are surrendering to male superiority and this begins at a very young age. This raksha bandhan ritual is the epitome of pseudo-culture - it is wholly irrational, illogical, and debilitating to women.

Liila Sharma

~ In-depth study ~

AMPS female militia condemns raksha bandhan: This means that AMPS has many female militias, and that females have the capacity to protect themselves, but raksha bandhan dogma goes directly against this tenet and portrays females as weak, powerless, and wholly dependent upon males for their security. Thus AMPS female militias are dharmic, and we condemn this raksha bandhan dogma; they cannot coexist.

Analogy of harijan & so-called upper-caste

A so-called brahmin may say that the so-called harijans (the so-called lowest caste) enjoy sitting on the earthen floor - they are not harmed by it. They like it. But if you ask that same so-called brahmin to give his chair to those so-called harijans, while he (the so-called brahmin) sits on the floor beneath those harijans, he will be horrified by such a suggestion. Ananda Marga ideology has been given to eradicate the dogma of male dominance and female inferiority complex.

So a certain man may say, "Look, those women enjoy doing rakhi every year and gaining a male protector, so what is wrong", then the response is to tell that man to also tie a rakhi on any woman. He will be shocked at the mere suggestion of it. It is when we consider ourselves to be in that same position that we can begin to understand the sheer humiliation, degradation, and disempowerment associated with the dogma of raksha bandhan.

Universal call

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Today human beings, to whatever country they may belong, should, on the one side, propagate an anti-exploitation sentiment (exploitation does not mean exploitation in the economic sphere only, it includes all sorts of exploitation), and form strong nations in their respective countries; and, on the other side, preach the theory of one spiritual inheritance – that every living being is the child of the Supreme Entity, and that all the people of all nations belong to the same family. This will have to be explained to all, that there will be clash among different nations as long as national feelings exist. People may talk of disarmament, but military preparation will go on underground. And if people dedicate themselves to the welfare of the entire human race, their respective nations will also be benefited indirectly because their nations are not outside the universe! Along with the theory of spiritual inheritance, one Cosmic ideology will have to be propagated too, and that ideology is that one Supreme Entity – the Cosmic Entity – is the goal of all living beings. This spiritual sentiment will keep human beings united for all time to come. No other theory can save the human race.” (1)

Unique understanding of poverty

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “In a harmonious social order no one will run after fame or wealth like a mad dog. A congenial external environment will assist them in achieving mental balance, and people’s psychic poverty will also gradually decrease.”

Sa tu bhavati daridra yasya áshá vishálá;
Manasi ca parituśt́e ko’rthaván kodaridrah.

[Those who have many desires are poor.
When the mind is contented, who is rich and who is poor?] (1)

Note: In this era those with money are looked upon as being rich but according to Ananda Marga philosophy this is not the case. One might have billions of dollars and still be poor. And how can those with nothing be rich? Because rich and poor are of the mind. Regardless of how much wealth you have, if you think you need more then you are poor. And if the mind is satisfied but on the material plane you have nothing, even then you are rich.

Daughters have right to paternal property

Ananda Marga Caryacarya states, “Sons and daughters will inherit in equal shares the movable and/or immovable property of their parents. The daughter will enjoy the immovable property during her lifetime, but will not have the right to transfer it to others. The property will revert to her father’s family after her death.” (1)

#1: The AM system of inheritance follows the patrilineal order wherein the father's land is passed down to his sons. That is the baseline.

#2: At the same time, the AM system of inheritance makes the very unique stipulation that as long as the daughter is alive she has her given right to access her father's property. This is very important. For instance, suppose the daughter is married with children and living with her husband's extended family, and then suddenly her husband undergoes an untimely death, and she is widowed and the children are fatherless. In turn, the husband's family may no longer welcome her on their land etc. In that case, given the AM system, the daughter has every right to go back with her children to her father's property where she will have access to her fair share. By this way, the daughter and her children will be safe and secure. And, of course, if her husband was himself a landowner, independent of his extended family, then the wife will inherit that land as well.

#3: The son's situation is different. If he is married and his wife dies then he will not have access to any land owned by his wife's extended family. So the son must rely exclusively on his paternal property, and / or whatever property he may have acquired on his own.

#4: So in our AM system, in any family both the sons and daughters will be safe and secure and have access to land / property.

#5: It goes without question that if there are no sons then the father’s property will be divided accordingly amongst his daughters. And those daughters can one day leave that land unto their children according to the AM system of inheritance.

Hypochondriacs: solution & cure

Even though they do not have any physical problem, psychically diseased people mentally suffer and cry and complain about different imagined physical ailments. Such types of psychic diseases are called mania. There was no disease per se, but the person was convinced he was sick. Following is one example:

Sadguru Baba says, "There was another person I knew who was quite healthy and carried out his daily activities with ease, and yet he was under the impression, for no particular reason, that there was some trouble in his stomach. Actually there was no disease; he was in good health. Yet occasionally he used to come to me and complain that there was some disorder in his stomach. This was his [psychic disease] of mania." (1)

Herein lies the solution:

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "One of the numerous benefits of sa'dhana' is that it keeps the mind free from psychic disease." (2)

Call to bring real unity

Namaskar,

This document illustrates the feeling of margiis of Meerut. They are calling for the awakening of Ananda Margiis around the globe.

These days the group infighting and Wt structures are going far away from AM ideological standing. Rather they are drowned in narrow socio and geo-sentiment.

Always remember that our Guru Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji has given the guideline for unity. Unity can only be achieved through ideological unity. There should be a call to oppose all sorts of exploitation by various group leaders such as the distortion of scripture, curtailment of margii rights, imposition of dogma like mahaprayan, elimination of BP, ACB, & PKB rights, creation Jamalpur so-called holy land, and the imposition of the fake BP manual. Sadvipas will support these ideological causes whereas cowards will keep their distance.

Think for a moment: If you “unite” millions and millions of people and ignore AM ideology then that is just a useless crowd. Many have attempted this type of crowd unity in the past and they never get success. They could never establish real unity. By this same type of crowd approach, AMPS will be further balkanised and break into more pieces.

Remember Baba has given the formula of unity in His book, “To The Patriots”. Indian leaders did not raise an anti-exploitation movement and in result the country was divided into three pieces. A similar thing has happened in AMPS also. Those who want unity should make a call against the exploitation of margiis and Wts on the aforesaid points. That will bring success and the resultant unity will be real unity.

in Him,
Dayanidhi Pandey
