Baba

Feb 12 observance: how Baba saved us

Namaskar,

After being poisoned, Baba took to fasting for 5 years, 4 months, and 1 day. He was poisoned on 12th February 1973. After being refused a judicial hearing, Baba began His fast in April 1973. And He did not break His fast until after His release from jail in early August 1978. This entire episode stands as the basis of our "Niilkantha Divas" - when the whole society was transformed, by His grace.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

About the significance of this day

The important observance of Niilakantha Divas is held annually on Feb 12. This is a significant and important moment in our history. We should know why Baba is called as "Niilakantha". What is the meaning, and how did it happen. These are the questions addressed in this letter, as well as the grand mythological tale surrounding Lord Shiva.

There is a reason behind the name, and why we call 12th February as a Niilakantha Divas. This was the day Baba was poisoned in jail. Niilakantha is a Sanskrit / Saḿskrta term. "Niila" means blue; "Kantha" means throat. The literal meaning of Niilakantha is Blue throat; and, the common meaning in everyday parlance is Lord Shiva. And divas means day. So the entire meaning of Niilakantha Divas is "blue throat day".

Day when Baba took the poison & saved the universe

A similar thing happened with Baba. We know that when Taraka Brahma descends on this earth as Mahasambhuti, it looks like He is human, but the truth is something else. Mahasambhuti is beyond all the shortcomings and limitations. Mahasambhuti is capable of doing anything He wishes.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

So it is with Parama Purusa Baba. To save the society from the disastrous effect of deadly poison, in His divine liila He swallowed the poison. This was done to save humanity from the demonic and destructive forces. That is what happened symbolically in jail. AMPS was not yet banned, most of the WTs and margis were outside jail. Then Baba took upon Himself the trouble of the entire organization, nay the entire society.

Not only the demon Indira Gandhi, but all demonic political groups like the communists were spreading their claws around the globe to ensnare the entire society in their hold. Just as serpents do. Communism was most ghastly in those days. Then those demonic leaders along with Indira Gandhi turned their full attention towards Shrii Shrii Anandamurti jii. And to eliminate Him they gave poison in the jail.

Baba graciously defused their negative plan

If Baba would not have borne the brunt of their attack, Indira Gandhi and communist Russia would have done more heinous crimes and killings - both to Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha and the general society. They would have wreaked even more havoc on this earth. Baba defused their negative plan. In that way, their nefarious intentions were neutralised: Everything was controlled and everyone was saved and Indira Gandhi was destroyed.

Those aware about Baba's divine play know that if Baba would not have taken the poison, Indira Gandhi would have brought more disaster on the country. The communists would have ruined many more lives on this earth, and Indira Gandhi would have poisoned or killed many WTs and margis. But she could not do anything. Rather, every one of us, those in jail, saw that Baba controlled the situation. He transformed the thorns into flowers. He took all trouble upon Himself. He digested everything to save us.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Those who look at it in a mundane manner think that Baba was poisoned in the jail, etc. And those with a more spiritual outlook see this as Baba's way of playing His divine liila. They know that by swallowing poison He saved Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha and the entire society from the deadly effect of various negative events.

They will be defeated and destroyed

Niilakantha Divas has another angle as well. Baba has not only given a spiritual philosophy but social teachings also: Prout and neo-humanism. While propagating Ananda Marga social philosophy, anti-social elements will try and obstruct your path. And if you persevere they will try to harass and kill you. This has always happened across human history in the struggle for dharma. Whenever good people have tried to do something meaningful they always faced staunch opposition. But no matter how mighty the opposition is they will be defeated and destroyed. And ultimately dharma will be victorious.

AM established on solid foundation of rationality & righteousness

Ananda Marga ideology guides us, "Suppose an evil force says, “I, the lord of a certain country, will destroy Ananda Marga from the very root.” A dhármika should maintain patience, should be patient. Because the day is soon to come when that evil force is going to be destroyed. Its weapon will serve as a boomerang for its own death. And this happened in the near past, as you all know." (1)

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "Those who misuse their faculties are also doomed to destruction. The misuse of one's qualities not only brings harm to the world, but it also exhausts one's own inherent strength. You have seen with your own eyes that in the past certain powerful persons thought, in their extreme vanity, that they could make or break anything. They perpetrated indescribable tortures and atrocities on Ananda Marga. But even in the face of such torments, Ananda Marga held its head high. There is no power in the universe, in the heaven or in the underworld, which can annihilate Ananda Marga, because Ananda Marga is established on the solid foundation of rationality and righteousness. If those wicked forces engage in fight with Ananda Marga, they will themselves be pulverized: they will be crushed like ants." (2)

Mythological story Niilakantha

There is one mythological story related with this term "Niilakantha". To save the society from the poisonous effect of deadly poison or "Kal Ku't'", Lord Shiva Himself swallowed that entire poison.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

In that magical story, the churning of the mythological divine ocean was arranged. The ocean took the form of a bowl or mortar, as from 'mortar and pestle'. And in the ocean one big mountain was placed as a pestle to churn the ocean. And the mythological cobra, Shes' Na'g, was tied as a rope around the mountain. On one side of the mountain a party of demons was holding one end of the rope-like cobra. And on the other side of the mountain a party of devatas was holding the other end of the cobra. By this way they could move the mountain back and forth. These two parties used the mountain to churn the ocean. Then various things emerged from the ocean in the course of that churning. One thing that emerged from the ocean was the deadly poison "Kal Kut'".

That poison was so deadly, if it had remained there, it would have spread all around and destroyed everything. To save the society, Lord Shiva swallowed all the poison.

Although we don't believe these mythological stories, there is one meaningful teaching behind this mythological tale. Namely, to save the society, Lord Shiva swallowed the poison and counteracted its negative effect. This is one great example: Serving the society even by swallowing poison. That is the great meaning of this mythological story.

Conclusion

The term "Niila Kantha" has deep meaning. Literally, "Niilakantha" means blue throat, and the 'blue throat' manifested because of swallowing the poison. And the Niilakantha was originally related with Lord Shiva. Then a similar event happened with Lord Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji. That's why one of the names of Sadguru Baba Anandamurtiji is Niilakantha. On 12 February 1973, Baba became "Niilakantha": He swallowed the poison and saved the earth.

Namaskar,
In Him,
Prakash

Feed poor with sumptuous food

Niilakantha Divas also gives the message that if someone poisons you then follow the opposite approach. Feed Narayana / sadavrata with sumptuous food. So there are a variety of ways  to win over the negative forces, but above all, never compromise with sin.

~ In-depth study ~

Saving the society was his only motive

Here is something related with the story about Lord Shiva. That lends also deeper understanding about what occurred with Baba.

Seeing the situation with the deadly poison, Lord Shiva took it upon Himself to swallow it. Otherwise, that very 'vish' (poison, or "Kal Ku't'") would have annihilated a huge portion of the population. So Lord Shiva saved the society by swallowing poison. He swallowed it and with His divine play, and the poison remained in Lord Shiva's throat permanently. And with its effect, the poison created a blue mark all around Lord Shiva's neck. His neck became blue permanently. Yet it did not affect Lord Shiva more than that. That's why one of the names of Lord Shiva is "Niilakantha" - Blue throat.

This was the greatness of Lord Shiva: He swallowed the deadly poison, with the sole purpose of saving the society from the disastrous effect of that deadly poison, "Kal Ku't'". Saving the society was His only motive - nothing else. For this reason, Baba has chosen the term "Niilakantha" and declared 12th February as "Niilakantha Divas". There is a literal meaning and an inner meaning. The literal meaning is blue throat day. The inner meaning is, 'The day of ingesting poison to save the humanity'.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Here in the above story the swallowing of the poison means that the vanguards always face the onslaughts and wrath of demons. Yet in that fight, gradually the ideology of AM / dharmic teachings are established. And, in result, common innocent people are saved / benefited by following our AM way of life. That is the inner sense. In the general society we see this also in miniature form. When any kind of fight for justice occurs, then true vanguards have to face the atrocities, and in due course new ideas come into being and society advances. All are benefited / saved from old outdated unjust ideas.

Wasted my time wandering around

"Tiirthe tiirthe ghúriyá ghúriyá, klánta hoye esechi dváre...." (Prabhat Samgiita #4112)

Purport:

O' Parama Purusa, after wandering around in various so-called holy lands around the globe in search of You, I have become completely exhausted. I have traveled around the farcical religious sites of so many villages, towns, and cities with the hope of having Your darshan. I went to various bogus tiirthas - Mecca, Rome, Varanasi, Jerusalem, Puri, as well as to Jamalpur, Ananda Nagar, and Tiljala in search of You. But my longing was not quenched; You were not seen in any of those places. I did not get You anywhere. In this tired and depleted state, I have reached Your altar. Baba, kindly be gracious, please do not turn Your face away; I ask You not to become unhappy or express Your feigned anger with me. Kindly open the door and allow me to come inside Your divine abode.

O' Baba, in looking for You, my tired, achy feet are full of dust. Wandering around, my whole body is hot, sweaty, and absolutely drained. Just I was performing various rituals of Hinduism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Judaism, as well as the AMPS holy land dogma etc. Now I am surrounded by fog and mist; I can’t see through it and am unable to walk on the spiritual path due to the burden of countless agonies. The road which I was traveling on was dark and full of hopelessness. I wasted a lot of money, time, and energy; my whole existence has become completely weary and fatigued. Nothing was gained.

Baba, in spite of moving on the negative path, due to Your mercy in the garden of my mind some flowers have bloomed for You. I want to offer those blossoms at Your lotus feet. The creepers of hope are swinging and the feeling is coming that You will allow me. Today, the river of spiritual flow is restless and thinking that the tide of Your grace will make this river full up to the brim.

O' Parama Purusa, do not leave me to wander from one dogmatic pilgrimage to another - involved in various rituals. Now I feel in my heart and repent how my whole life has been wasted - just tied up in the noose of dogma. Now I am surrendering to You, with all the longing in my core, and requesting You to allow me to come close to You and touch Your feet. I am Yours and You are mine. In offering everything unto You, please accept me as Your own. By Your blessing, now it is evident to me that You are residing in the depths of my mind - smiling...

How to keep the mind shiny

Baba teaches us that the regular practice of sadhana is the special tool to make the mind resplendent and shiny.

Ananda Marga ideology guides us, “One must do sádhaná most regularly. As long as one has a body, one must go on doing sádhaná. You must have noticed that a shiny new lot́á [small metal vessel] will no longer retain its lustre and newness after a year's use. One has to clean it quite regularly with tamarind in order to maintain its shininess. The mind is like that – one has to do regular sádhaná to keep it neat and clean.” (1)

For social cohesion

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “In Europe Latin scholars tried their best to suppress other languages. The Arabic scholars of the Middle East wanted to suppress Persian. And in recent years the people of Wales and Quebec in Canada have protested against the imposition of the English language. They preferred to use their own languages as the medium of expression. In modern India, too, due to selfish political influences, important languages such as Bhojpurii, Maethilii, Mágadhii, Chattrisgaŕhii, Avadhii, Bunddkháńd́ii and Marwarii are being suppressed. Their speakers will certainly not accept this silently, but will surely protect against this unjust domination. Recently there was an open revolt against the imposition of Hindi as the national language of India. That’s why, it is better to bring people speaking different languages closer to one another than to suppress their languages. As a result, people will feel inspired to speak other languages. The arbitrary imposition of any language invites trouble.” (1)

Religions: cause of mayhem

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “There are a variety of religions in the world formulated by different propounders. But instead of enhancing the spirit of unity in the human society, these religions have actually increased disunity and mutual conflict. How many wars have been fought in the name of religion? So, far from being a unifying force, religion should be seen as a cause of disharmony.”

“One thing should be remembered: Dharma and religion – or “Imán” and “majhab” in Arabic – are not synonymous. Throughout the ages, Dharma or Imán has been propagating teachings to unite humanity. Religions are many, but Dharma is one, and that Dharma is Manava [[Human]] Dharma – a system for the attainment of the Supreme. Based on practical wisdom and logical faith, Dharma is a rational approach for the realization of Absolute Truth. External paraphernalia are not required for the practice of Dharma: the only prerequisite is a unit mind. Within Dharma there is no room for exploiting people entrapped in the snare of blind faith, and no scope for self-aggrandisement or the pursuit of group interests. Love, freedom and equality are its foundation stones. As Dharma is beyond time, space and person, there is no scope for Svajátiiya [[differences within a species]], Vijátiiya [[differences between species]] or Svagata [[differences within the same unit being]]. Dharma is inchangeable.”

“Eka eva suhrd dharma nidhane’pyanuyáti yah.”

[Dharma is the only real friend; it follows one even after death]

“Religion is the exact opposite. It is based on the following three factors:
1. Psycho-sentiment
2. Physico-ritualistic observance
3. Tradition” (2)

Unaware about being exploited

Prout philosophy states, “The exploited people are not even aware that they are being exploited. This is why it is easy to exploit them in the social sphere, then create inferiority complexes in their minds to keep them under prolonged administrative domination and perpetuate the exploitation. This is easily done by the cunning exploiters. And the tragedy is that the exploited mass do not try to understand – they cannot understand, and they even refuse to understand – that they are victims of exploitation. So this is more dangerous.”
“When the exploitation takes place in economic sphere directly, the people easily understand it, but when the exploitation is perpetrated in the socio-economic sphere or the psycho-economic sphere, the situation becomes complicated. In the case of exploitation is the socio-economic sphere, the people raise a little murmur against the social exploitation, but they fail to take note of the economic exploitation which is the final result of such socio-economic exploitation. And in the case of psychoeconomic exploitation, the people feel a little aggrieved because they are being suppressed from the psychic point of view, but they are not aware that the ultimate result is also economic exploitation.”
“As regards the psychic sphere, I can say this – there can be numerous modes of exploitation in the psychic sphere, and to comprehend all these, the people must be more educated and more intelligent.” (1)

Classic case of religious misunderstanding

Ananda Marga ideology states, "When the ancient people were faced with immense obstacles, they would perform sacrificial ceremonies for the propitiation of the gods, for they were not acquainted with the scientific methods to surmount those obstacles. They thought that there was no difference between the smoke produced by burning ghee in fire and the clouds in the sky. They were unaware that the former is composed of unburnt carbon-particles of ghee and the latter are basically a combination of hydrogen and oxygen which appears to be blackish under certain circumstances. Even today if people misuse ghee by burning it in a sacrificial fire, they certainly do it out of total ignorance." (1)

About anáhata & namaskar + 5 more

Baba
About anáhata & namaskar

Namaskar,

Some may wonder why we touch the anahata cakra when we do our namaskar mudra. The reason is because the anahata cakra is the nucleus of all human feeling and sentiment such as love, affection, etc. Whatever love and sentiment humans have is controlled from this cakra. We are, by nature, sentimental beings so we are deeply moved by the pull of the anahata cakra. It is there that we feel a deep sense of connection, love, and compassion. For this reason we touch the anahata cakra when doing our namaskar mudra. And it is for this reason humans all over the globe hug and embrace one another by drawing each other near to that point.
http://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

When you have sentiment for something or someone then you want to bring that close to your chest - as that is the nucleus of your feeling and sentiment. That is why when people come close to their cherished possessions or loved ones, they reach out with both hands and draw them close to their anahata cakra. And when one receives a very special gift then they draw it in to that point. They do not hold it by their elbow, knee, or toe, rather it is brought to their anahata cakra.

Any sincere sadhaka can easily feel the vibration in their anahata cakra during certain emotional occasions. That is not the vibration of the physical heart, but rather the vibration of their anahata cakra. The anahata cakra is the controlling point of all human sentiment. That is why, after touching the mind (ajina cakra), we touch the home of human sentiment (anahata cakra) when we do namaskar.

Anahata cakra is nucleus of human sentiment

Those not aware about the anahata cakra mistakenly think that the physical human heart is the home of all feeling and sentiment. Or they think their emotional center is the physical heart because when they are nervous or excited their heart starts beating faster etc. Such is the confusion some have.

But that heart organ is merely a pump. That is all. It is not the home of human sentiment; similarly, the gallbladder is not the home of human sentiment. The main reason why people think that the physical human heart is so special is because of its close proximity to the anahata cakra.
http://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

So it is the anahata cakra that is so unique and reflects our emotional and sentimental being. The physical heart has no such capacity. It is merely a pump. The proof is that when patients get a heart transplant their emotional and sentimental nature remains as is; they do not also receive an entirely new emotional state when they receive that new heart. They get a pump - nothing more. It is because their anahata cakra is the home of their sentiment. That is why their emotional quality remains the same.

Namaskar,
in Him,
Dharmaviira

This is the way the namaskar mudra is done in Ananda Marga: Draw the palms together, raise them up and touch the ájiṋá cakra [the mid-point of the eyebrows] with both thumbs and then, keeping the palms together, lower the hands and touch the anahata cakra.

~ In-depth study ~

In below quotes "heart" means anahata cakra

Ananda Marga philosophy guides us, "The human heart is the abode of higher psychic propensities. The feeling of pain, pleasure, devotion and bliss have a deep impact on the heart. When human beings remained engrossed in crude sensual pleasure they are deprived of spiritual bliss, but the moment they start imbibing cosmic ideation, the cosmic sentiment grows stronger in their hearts. Thereafter, the more they ideate on Iśt́a and superimpose cosmic ideation on every action and thought, the more the devotional sentiment is strengthened. At this stage the sádhakas feel the existence of Parama Puruśa deep in their hearts and pervading throughout the entire world. In consequence a deep dharmamegha is created around the anáhata cakra, bringing intense bliss to the sadhaka's mind." (1)

Ananda Marga philosophy guides us, "The subtlest, the most delicate, portion of the human mind is the controlling point of human cordiality. When the human mind is focused on that particular point, it starts to experience the Krśńaliilá [Krśńa's pastimes with His devotees]. The human heart, which is Vrindavana, is the nucleus of all the warmth and sweetness of the human mind. Human beings are always eager to rush towards the mohanatattva [supreme attractive force] which lies covert in the inner Vrindavana. Parama Puruśa also enhances the degree of spiritual attraction and increases the jiivas' desire to rush towards Him. Due to this intense spiritual attraction the mind refuses to entertain any other psychic object. One may try in vain to persuade the mind to desist from thinking of Krśńa, but even then the mind will think of Krśńa and nothing else. Human beings at that stage lose their ordinary propensities and cling to their spiritual object alone. Thus microcosmic bearing is turned into Macrocosmic bearing." (2)

Paying respect to Parama Puruśa residing within this body

Ananda Marga ideology guides us, "What is our style of extending goodwill? We say, Namaskár. That is, “I pay respect to the Supreme Entity residing within you.” You should remember this. “I concentrate all the good feelings of my mind here in the trikut́i [between the eyebrows].” In your mind there are so many propensities. Propensities are called vrtti in Sanskrit. So there are so many vrttis, so many propensities, in your mind..."
"You should concentrate all your thoughts at a particular point, here – that is, with all the strength and goodwill of your mind you are doing this – you are touching these two palms here [trikut́i]. That is, you are concentrating all your goodwill here, because you are paying respect to Parama Puruśa residing within this body; this body; this body; this body [pointing to different people]. First do this."
"And not only mental concentration, you are human beings, you have got so many sentiments also. Human sentiment, you know? When you feel much joy you burst into tears, when much sorrow you burst into tears. These are sentiments. And human beings are guided by sentiment, more by sentiment than by logic, you must not forget it – more by sentiment than by logic. So your sentiment is also there, so with all the concentration of your mind and with all the sweetness of your sentiment, from the very core of your heart, you are paying respect to Parama Puruśa residing within human structure. So you do this [palms together at mid-point of chest], and say, Namaskár." (3)

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "Now, suppose certain sub-glands in the elder man's chest around the anáhata cakra are activated. Then, instead of arguing, his response will become calmer, and not so serious and grave. He will become quieter and not so irritated. In this case, in the attached nerve cells and nerve fibres, certain changes will have been brought about in the glands and sub-glands of the chest portion of the body. By properly activating the controlling point of a human sentiment, the response has changed." (4)

A few points of clarification

#1: The anahata cakra is not only related with those doing sadhana, but everyone experiences feelings and vibration at their anahata cakra. That is the nucleus of all human feeling and sentiment.
http://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

#2: The anahata cakra is not the "yogic heart". Some in publications have labeled it as such and included this phrase, "yogic heart", in the glossary of our books when defining the anahata cakra. But this is not the proper phrase to describe the anahata cakra. Moreover, as noted, this cakra is not limited to yogis per se; rather, everyone feels this cakra, even those who have nothing to do with yoga. So that is another reason why the phrase "yogic heart" is an accurate or appropriate reference for the anahata cakra.

#3: Unfortunately, the description about namaskar published in Carycarya is incomplete. It fails to describe how the palms should be brought to the anahata cakra to conclude the salutation. See here below.

Caryacarya says, "Namaskára: Namaskára is done by bringing the palms together and touching the ájiṋá cakra [the mid-point of the eyebrows] with the thumbs, without bowing. It can be done to all regardless of their age, because this mode of salutation is used with the ideation that everyone is the manifestation of the Supreme Being." (5)

It should have been written like this:

Caryacarya says, "Namaskára: Namaskára is done by bringing the palms together and touching the ájiṋá cakra [the mid-point of the eyebrows] with the thumbs [and then bringing the palms down to the anahata cakra], without bowing. It can be done to all regardless of their age, because this mode of salutation is used with the ideation that everyone is the manifestation of the Supreme Being." (5)

Everyone should correct this in their book.

PS for children

PS Intro: This is one humorous song for children of all ages. In the odd kingdom there was an odd king and all his actions were peculiar and completely senseless. This following song shows how imbalanced people do the exact opposite of what should be done.

"Rúp kathár ek rájá chilo, hásate se je jánato ná to..." (Prabhat Samgiita #0432)

Purport:

Once upon a time there was a mythological king who was not even aware how to smile and laugh.

He walked on his hands, and when taking food he would eat puffed rice using his feet. And in the middle of the night while eating his cakes the king used to turn his back to the sun in order to enjoy the warmth.

The king would use his tongue to chew sugar cane, and he used to use his teeth to suck the juice. On the tennis court he used to spread the net and try to catch some fish.

Due to his fear of ghosts he used to hide in the water - even in the middle of the day. By rowing the race boat he used to travel in the distant sky to get fresh air. Just by thinking about work he used to feel drowsy and sleepy and within a flash he would start snoring.

There once was a mythological king whose behaviour was very peculiar - he was not even aware how to smile and laugh. Always he was tense and in a serious mood...

Why Buddhists Got Confused

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "Regarding jiivátmá [unit consciousness], Buddha did not use the term jiivátmá or any such word, but he uttered one sentence, Attáhi attánaḿ natha. This sentence may  have two meanings. One meaning is, “One is the lord of one’s own self,” and the other is, “Átman is the lord of átman.” The second meaning perhaps is more acceptable because in the Prákrta language the word appan is generally used to indicate one’s own self, while the word attá is mainly used in the sense of átman, or soul. Thus one cannot conclusively prove that Buddha did not accept the existence of átman; there is sufficient scope for controversy on this point." (1)

"Buddha clearly and firmly supported the doctrine of rebirth. In fact, no doctrine before him had placed as much stress on the theory of rebirth as his did. One who accepts the theory of rebirth is bound to accept the existence of átman also. If the átman is non-existent, then who will take rebirth?" (2)

Re: If your child starts smoking

Namaskar
My father started smoking at nine. I started at 16. My fathers intelligence knew no bounds having countless patents and scientific discoveries to his credit..but yet he smoked.

It took him forty years to quit. It's a dirty habit. I smoked so much at age 19 I would cough and roll out of bed in pain. I smoked five packs of unfiltered Galoise (a French cigarette) a day that's 100 cigarettes. I quit when I was initiated. Then much later I began to smoke cigars. Dada Y said Govinda who are you trying to be Winston Churchill?

BABA graced  me that very day and I did not smoke another  expensive cigar. AND I did not crave them.

Cigarettes also have additives ....chemicals to keep them burning and to add to the addiction. In third world countries they sell Marlboros for fifty cents..here in the USA a pack is 5 6 or 7 dollars.

Once the country is hooked the price goes up.

Two things are the biggest problems in the west BABA said Drugs and discipline.

America is comfort loving..and its obesity rate is soaring...even some of our acaryas have become obese. Serve humanity without pause practice sadhana and perform proper asanas then no problem. Give give give till it hurts then give some more.

Take on others burdens. It will bring untold joy...and The Supreme will give you boundless energy to do more work.
My maternal grandmother Maisey said when I was 7 ... Greggie boy..do you want to know the secret of happiness? I said yes gramma please tell me. The secret is very simple. Forget about yourself and serve others.

Any job can be accomplished with three things ...proper tools..confidence and Gods unfathomable grace...BABA said it.

My grandmother was a saint. Yet lived in this USA land of self centered materialism. Wherever her eyes touched another's they would smile.

If you do not serve others ..with the proper zeal and attitude she said..you will become depressed and your moods will be dark indeed . Expand the circle round your own two feet she said. Let your mind soar beyond the stars ...said my beloved Gramma.

Sure when you reach out..some will reject your embrace
But what are bruises and a little pain to a yogi or yogini? I say
Nothing but pebbles under our feet...I wonder who said that? Ha!
So let's do do do ..don't sit...and transform the world for BABAS MISSION
