Unique quality of mind + 5 more

Baba
Unique quality of mind

Namaskar,

Some people think that their mental tendencies or likings are not related with any philosophy. They think they like something simply because they were born with that liking; and, they conclude that that preference or inclination is permanent. For this reason they do not try to change their liking. They fail to realise that the mind is always changing and that it can go up or down depending on one's physical and mental engagement.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Anyone can make the mind pointed in sadhana

In innumerable discourses and throughout our entire Ananda Marga ideology, Baba is teaching us about the essence of yogic philosophy: The mind is dynamic and it must be channelised towards the spiritual realm.

Mano karoti karma'n'i mano lipyate pa'tako;
Manashca tanmana' buddhaya' na pun'yam' na ca pa'tako

Ananda Marga ideology states, "It is the human mind which is the cause of bondage or liberation. If the mind is in bondage, the person is also in bondage. Similarly, if the mind is liberated the person is also liberated. After all, it is the human mind which engages in auspicious actions. Now, if this mind is kept engrossed in the ideation of Parama Purus'a, then it gets totally merged in Consciousness." (1)

So the main emphasis of our spiritual philosophy is to goad the mind towards Him and then automatically one will realize God. This idea is prevalent in nearly every Ananda Marga discourse. Verily, the whole of 16 Points and all our life practices are geared towards making the mind more subtle, spiritual, and full of bhakti. Baba has blessed us with this special way of living. And He guides us that this plan - this approach of goading the mind towards higher pursuits - will work, cent per cent, with each and every human being, regardless of their background.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Ananda Marga ideology states, "If an ordinary sinner or a confirmed sinner remains absorbed in the thought of Parama Purus'a to the exclusion of all other thoughts, then his mind becomes pointed." (2)

How to make the mind more spiritually vibrated

So it is extremely important for each and every sadhaka to theoretically understand how this science of mind works. Because doing sadhana in this present era is not easy. But if one understands that if the mind is goaded - even a wee-bit - towards the realm of bhakti, then little by little the mind will yearn to do sadhana.

That is why if one is having trouble in sadhana, one should not worry. Only one should take this as a sign that they need to goad the mind a little bit more towards that way of life. That means doing a few more minutes of kiirtan, svadhyaya, mantra japa, etc, and then soon the mind will adjust and move in that direction.

And, side by side, one must also understand that engaging in mundane affairs or debased dealings will obviously divert their mind farther and farther away from sadhana. To gain success, one must have this theoretical understanding about the philosophy of mind, then one can certainly move ahead. Again the underlying idea is: The mind will learn to like whatever it is engaged in, whether good or bad, the mind will adjust and flow in that direction.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Infused with tremendous speed in sadhana

Suppose a new margii is immersed in mundane affairs like their job, non-margii social relations, and various other non-spiritual pursuits, but internally he wants to do sadhana. Then all he has to do is follow the precepts of manan (thinking about Him), shravan (singing & listening His name), and niddhidhyasana (ideating on Him) and then certainly in a very short time that new margii will be infused with tremendous speed in sadhana as the mind will like to do more meditation.

And this will not just work with new margiis - but with any Ananda Margii, even one who has been on the path for 50 years. Because the theory always applies universally that the mind will adjust with whatever it is given to do. If we involve in dhyana, japa, kiirtan, satsaunga, Prabhat Samgiita, brahmacarya, and so many of our other Ananda Marga practices, then naturally the mind will swiftly move in that direction - towards that sublime ideal.

So there is hope for each and every aspirant; and, we should always be wary not to slip in the opposite direction. Let's say there is an established margii who is involved in sadhana but little by little starts engaging in more mundane affairs like computer games, gossip, or useless social media interactions etc, then the mind will steadily drift away from sadhana until finally that sadhaka will lose their spiritual flow entirely.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

This philosophy of mind is so powerful that if even an ideal man starts associating with winos and drunks then over time he himself will start to yearn for their company and begin swigging from the bottle. Because the mind will always run after and learn to like whatever activity in which it is engaged. That is the key theme.

Decrease distance between you & your Ista

The mind also changes according to the company one keeps. Many ate onion and garlic or smoked before entering onto the path of Ananda Marga. Upon being surrounded by sadhakas (i.e. good company or satsaunga) their mind changed, and they gradually gave up those tamasik habits. So the mind adjusts according to one's company as well.

Ananda Marga ideology states, "So while selecting company, you should be careful whether its discourses, its activities, its plans or programmes are to decrease the distance between you and your Lord. This is Satsaunga, good company. Otherwise it is Asatsauṋga." (3)

As sadhakas living in this present era, we should make a strict sadhana routine and spiritual regimen and stick with it. We should make a sadhana quota whereby we do all our lessons two times daily as well as involve in Guru Sakash, proper ideation before sleep, and as much shravan, manan, niddhidhyasana as we can during the day.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Verily, we should spiritualise the mind each and every moment of our lives through constant japa and ideation. By this way we can and will expedite our movement on the path - making sadhana an effortless, blissful, and deep experience in bhakti, by His grace. We should utilise this philosophical aspect and tendency of mind to our maximum advantage.

Let us never forget that each and every human being has come from past animal lives so those baser propensities are still in effect - to some or more degree. And people are well familiar with those animal enjoyments. That is why it is all so easy and quite common for the masses to move in this negative direction - i.e. negative pratisaincara. And the mind will learn to like that making one's descent very swift and harsh. As sadhakas we should never fall prey to such degradation - rather we are to keep ourselves moving in the sentient flow and pull others in that current as well.

Conclusion

With just a little reflection anyone can see how their liking changes according to their engagement of mind. Which is why no grown adult likes to pass their days playing with dolls., which once they enjoyed in childhood.

Conversion into Cosmic mind

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "Now, the objectivated [human] mind may move from subtle towards crude or from crude towards subtle, unlike the movements of other entities of this universe. If the movement towards crude is encouraged, the mind – and at the same time the entire existence of the human being – will be converted into crude matter. That is, it will [take] the path of negative pratisaincara. And if the movement towards subtle is encouraged, then one's entire existence will be converted into either Cosmic Mind or Cosmic Cognitive Faculty. This is the speciality of mind, and that is why it is said:"

[It is the mind that performs good actions and it is the mind that sins. For the mind that is immersed in the thought of God, there is no virtue, no vice.]

[The mind of a person in bondage is attached to his or her objects of enjoyment, whereas the mind of a person who has attained liberation has no mental object.]

"“The mind is the cause of bondage, and this mind, this very mind, is the cause of liberation, is the cause of emancipation.” If the movement towards subtle is encouraged, and there is movement with proper acceleration, then what will happen? There will take place one of two different things: either one's existence will be converted into the Cosmic Mind – that metamorphosis of unit mind into Cosmic Mind is known as the qualified stance – saguńásthiti – or, if the very “I” feeling is surrendered at the altar of Supreme Existence, then the alternative will be that the entire existential factor will become one with the Supreme Cognitive Faculty, with the Cognitive Principle – one will become omniscient, an all-knowing entity." (4)

How to overcome a vacillating mind

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "“It is the human mind which is the cause of bondage or liberation. If the mind is in bondage, the person is also in bondage. Similarly, if the mind is liberated the person is also liberated. After all, it is the human mind which engages in auspicious actions. Now, if this mind is kept engrossed in the ideation of Parama Puruśa, then it gets totally merged in Consciousness. In that case, where is the scope for virtue or vice for that person?”"
"If an ordinary sinner or a confirmed sinner remains absorbed in the thought of Parama Puruśa to the exclusion of all other thoughts, then his or her mind becomes pointed. This is called agryábuddhi [pinnacled intellect] in Sanskrit. In that state of mind the spiritual aspirant gets well established in pinnacled intellect. Unless and until the ordinary human intellect is elevated to the level of pinnacled intellect or apexed intellect, the continuous rise and fall of innumerable vibrations within one's existence continues. These psychic vibrations are sometimes the vibrations of virtue, sometimes the vibrations of vice, sometimes the vibrations of the reaction of sinful deeds, sometimes of virtuous deeds. Unless the human mind is pointed, this rise and fall of antagonistic psychic vibrations will go on. The moment the mind is centred on Parama Puruśa, then that mind will naturally become pointed. In that state there is no scope for the rise and fall of any wave – neither the wave of virtue nor the wave of vice. Thus it is said that when a spiritual aspirant is established in pinnacled intellect, there cannot be any question of virtue and vice. A person who has taken the Cosmic shelter goes far above the scope of virtue or vice. This is something very natural." (5)

How to select your goal

Mana eva manuśyáńám káránaḿ bandhamokśayoh,
Bandhasya viśayásaungimuktonirviśayaḿ tathá.

Ananda Marga philosophy says, "“The mind is the cause of bondage or liberation of human beings. A person under bondage is attached to a mental or physical object, whereas the liberated one is free from all objects.” If the mind is confined to something physical or psychic it is bound to be assailed by either pleasure or pain – it is inevitable. However hard you may try you can not avoid it, because you are so inseparably bound to your objects."

"It is also true that you will not remain associated with your object forever because the speed of movement of both cannot be equal forever. The person with whom you live with all the warmth of your life will ultimately desert you – it is a cruel game. Confronted with this grim reality one should be very cautious about selecting one's goal. One thing is clear – the Supreme Entity alone should be accepted as one's goal." (6)

Way to merge with the Supreme

Mana eva mauśya nám kárańam bandha mokśayo

Ananda Marga ideology says, "In other words the unit attains salvation only when she/he empties her/his mind of all objects. Just as an iron sword can perform acts of cruelty or merely cut the rope tethering and animal, similarly, according to its objective tendencies, the mind can also be the cause of both bondage and liberation."
"All unit objects are external. Love for such unit objects can never be lasting, for the mind always keeps hopping from one object to another. That is why I say, withdraw your love from the unit and merge yourself in the whole. Don't mistake the unit for the soul or God. The attainment of one's inner self is only possible through love for the Infinite. Don't pretend to be inferior and as a result become lazy. Fill your heart with love of the Infinite, and your soul will be transformed into the Supreme Soul. No worldly happiness is limitless. Dedicate yourself completely to the blissful ocean of the Supreme Soul. Then alone will you realize what happiness really is. This path to attain happiness, this Sádhaná of self-surrender I call absolute devotion. Carry on performing your worldly duties with sincerity, and at the same time think about the pure self within you. Then alone will your Sádhaná be justified. The constant thought of your pure inner Self will certainly one day establish you in your original source, and this is the ultimate aim of Sádhaná." (7)

Mindset for pracara

Ananda Marga philosophy guides us, "Even in private life when a person behaves with you badly or uses harsh words, don't behave with him in the same manner. You shall explain to him his duties gently. In case, anyone has a wrong impression, you shall show him the right path without scolding (abusing) him. Make it clear to him if possible with practical demonstration how harmful may be the effect of such habits. But always keep this in mind that in such cases your behavior must be like that of a friend, and never like that of an instructor. Your only object will be to get your advice accepted by him. The idea that he is fool and you are wise is not desirable in any party." (1)

Note: In His above teaching, Baba is outlining an important pracar technique. Specifically, when speaking with non-margiis, we should talk with them in a soft and gentle manner, using a friendly, supportive tone. By this way, they will gradually learn Ananda Marga ideals. Baba also addressed non-margiis in this manner. And then with more established sadhakas - i.e. experience Ananda Margiis - Baba was more firm to best enhance their progress.

Special blessing on Ananda Margiis

Ananda Marga ideology states, "Even after getting human life, only a few get the opportunity to listen to dharmika discourses. Among those, only a few develop the desire to practise dharma sádhaná. And even among these, only a few actually grasp the spirit of Sádhaná. Those rare ones who understand, perform sádhaná, and reach the goal are truly blessed." (1)

In the above teaching, Baba is expressing how each and every Ananda Margii is extraordinary as they have already crossed so many hoops and became an Ananda Margii. And there are a few more hoops to go. So one should always be alert not to get stuck in the present stage. Please read carefully to understand which stage you have crossed and where you are going.

World govt is an eventuality

Prout philosophy states, “With advances in technology, the mastery of human beings over space and time will continue slowly to increase, so the necessity of a world government, also, will be profoundly felt. Gradually the people in one region of the world will have to interact more with the people in various other regions, and in the course of this interaction they will have to try to understand one another better.” (1)

Here Baba is teaching how in a gradual and natural course the world government will be established on this earth. And in a mundane way things are already moving in this direction. For example, there are millions of international and global organisations. Similarly, hundreds of thousands of corporations have a global administration. And in many families, their relations are working and living in multiple continents. And that is growing every moment. On a daily basis, tens of millions of people are crossing borders and traveling across the planet for various reasons. By this way, individuals, corporations, and NGO’s are already global. And this will take place in the political sphere very soon. Not only that, there is hardly any country that is not connected with another country. So there is a need. Already numerous attempts have been made at uniting various countries - in various regions of the globe. And such approaches will only increase with greater and greater success. The formation of a world government will be a natural step in this process.

How to know everything

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “On the practical level, what happens is that the unconscious mind is all-pervading, integral and immeasurably vast. Through spiritual practices the riches of the unconscious mind are brought down into the subconscious mind. The spiritual aspirant then understands everything; he discovers the secret signs of knowledge. Then, according to his or her needs, he or she is able to bring this acquired wealth of the subconscious mind into the conscious mind and use it in the external world.”
“How much can book knowledge help a person! It goes in one ear and out the other. If, by means of sádhaná [spiritual practices], a person can bring into the subconscious mind the boundless knowledge that resides in the unconscious mind, then that becomes transformed into lasting riches which then are, or can be, employed extensively for the welfare of humanity.” (1)

Essence of being an Ananda Margii

Ananda Marga ideology states, “What is it that is of utmost necessity for spiritual progress? The most important thing needed for spiritual progress, for uniting the individual self with Paramátmá, is bhakti.” (1)

Note: Knowing the text, Ananda Marga Elementary Philosophy (AMEP), is not at all essential for becoming an Ananda Margii and following the path of dharma. Those who are intellectually trained, i.e. are highly educated and / or have an intellectual bent, hunger for the rational explanation of this cosmological order works. And that is explained in the book AMEP. But truly, if we think of the common person in the world, the ideas expressed in AMEP are above their ability to comprehend, or not of interest to them. And that does not at all mean that becoming an Ananda Margii is beyond them. The main teaching, ethic, and essence of Ananda Marga is: “Parama Purusa is with me and within me; He loves me and I love Him; He is not some distant God in the sky but He is my personal God, and no one can take that away from me; and, I am to realize Him through the practice of sadhana.” This is the foundational concept for treading and advancing on the path of Ananda Marga. And this needs no formal education whatsoever.

There are many Margiis in the villages of India who are very, very simple and not educated in the formal sense; they do not care about AMEP. They never read it, and they never will. But when Baba gives the truths about bhakti in a brief discourse in the Ananda Vacanamrtam series that speaks to their inner heart and they feel that, "Yes, Baba is Parama Purusa, and He is mine." That is the most important and essential quality about being an Ananda Margii, and that is the central message of the Ananda Vacanamrtam and Subhasita Samgraha series of discourses.

In AMEP, there is no discussion of bhakti. Whereas bhakti is the main teaching of Ananda Marga ideology. That is why the discourses given in Ananda Vacanamrtam and Subhasita Samgraha are AM ideology. AMEP is an elucidation of ontology and cosmology: Baba's teachings on (1) personal existence, and (2) the origin and organization of the universe, and on the purpose of these two aspects, i.e. what is the meaning of our existence in this universe. So for intellectually inclined people around the world, the teachings in AMEP are deeply meaningful and fulfilling. But for those very same people, as well as for the rest of the people in the world, i.e. as a common denominator for all, the discourses in Ananda Vacanamrtam and Subhasita Samgraha provide the seed teachings which give sustenance and provide the spark for embarking on, as well as continuing, the spiritual journey.

Spirituality needed for unity

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "The unity that grows from the collective psychology in the social, psychic and economic spheres, is the first step towards a greater unity. This can lead to the formation of a nation or greater internal unity in a country. But once the problem out of which the sentiment grew is solved, the common link is broken. That is why for permanent unity a spiritual outlook is necessary. Every human being has a spiritual thirst. Knowingly or unknowingly, human beings are searching for the Supreme Entity. Yet, ignorant of the right path, they remain confused. One of life's great tragedies is that so many people do not find the object of their search. Their entire life is spent searching everywhere, but in vain. If people are shown the right way, the entire humanity will converge on the same path. As fellow travellers on the same journey, they will move towards the same supreme goal with unison, with a single rhythm. So for the unity of the entire humanity, the indispensable factor is spirituality. This supreme treasure teaches human beings that Parama Puruśa is the Supreme Father, Parama Prakrti [[the Supreme Operative Principle]] is their Supreme Mother, and the entire universe is their homeland." (1)

In the above teaching there are two central points.

Firstly, in creating temporary unity, people rally around all kinds of sentiments. And so long as their particular problem is not solved, those people remain united around their common cause. But when their problem is solved then their unity dissolves.

For instance, those living in a village are fearful of wild animals remain united to ward off those dangerous animals. But when the problem is solved, and those wild animals disappear, those villagers will no longer remain united.

Second, to achieve long-term unity, true spirituality is needed. When the goal is Parama Purusa, people will not be selfish or narrow-minded. They will not fight over petty and trifling affairs. Rather, they will feel that all are the creation of Parama Purusa - and all are my kith and kin. They will not exploit others, but rather help them.

Unfortunately, when spirituality is polluted by dogmas like mahaprayan, then infighting starts. Those interest groups push to keep their dogma on top, and carry on with their exploitation for their petty gain. In that case, unity is ruined.

In our Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha, to instill unity we must wipe away all dogmas. Unity cannot coexist with religious dogmas like mahaprayan. Those are the central ideals presented in the above passage.

Baba dedicates A'nanda Ma'rga to all

Ananda Marga ideology says, "I dedicate A'nanda Ma'rga in this DMC to all sections of society...from this DMC onwards I have become a man of the people because I believe that dharma is the property of the masses, not the exclusive monopoly of a handful of so-called educated middle class elite. Dharma belongs to one and all. From this DMC, I recognise it as the property of the common people." (1)

AM pracara: all sadhakas involved + BNK road + “great dada" + False history

Baba

AM pracara: all sadhakas involved

Namaskar,

Some think that only Wt Dadas and Didis can do pracara. However as the below cartoon demonstrates, every Ananda Margii is capable of playing a special role in doing pracara and bringing more and more to the practice of dharma sadhana.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

The Supreme Command states, “...It is the bounden duty of every Ananda Margii to endeavour to bring all to the path of bliss. Verily is this a part and parcel of sadhana, to lead others along the path of righteousness.” (1)

The below animated image or cartoon highlights the various pracarakas in AMPS. A pracaraka is one who propagates the ideals of dharma, i.e. Ananda Marga ideology. Sadguru Baba has given a revolutionary philosophy that empowers family people along with sannyasis to preach the gospel of neo-humanism, spirituality, and the vast array of Ananda Marga teachings. The descriptions in the below image are in Spanish so here is a short review of each.

LPT: This is a local part-time volunteer who sets aside an amount of time each day or week etc to spread the teachings of Ananda Marga ideology. This is a family person, male or female, who may also have a job or is a student etc. A sketch of an LPT is in the upper right hand section of the below cartoon. They can be male also.

LFT: This is a local full-time volunteer who has decided to dedicate all their energies to spreading the ideals of Ananda Marga, and / or volunteers in AMPS service projects. An LFT wears an orange top and white pants or gown, but not a turban. At first sight, by seeing the dress, one might think that person is a Wt but an LFT is still single or a family person, not a sannyasi. LFT may be a male or female. A drawing of an LFT is in the upper left hand section of the below cartoon. They can be a female also.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Married Family Margii: Those who are married also serve as great teachers and exemplars of Ananda Marga teachings. Although they have many family duties such as raising the children and earning a living, they strictly adhere to 16 Points and play a key role in doing outreach with the local community and bringing people for initiation etc. The married family margiis are in the center of the below cartoon.

Tattvika: This is a family person who has successfully completed a comprehensive course on Ananda Marga philosophy. Most often, tattvikas lead seminars and teach the very initial aspects of Ananda Marga meditation. A picture of a tattvika is in the middle row to the right side. They can be a female also.

Ghrii Acarya / Family Acarya: Those family margiis, male or female, who successfully complete tattvika training may take a course to become a family acarya. As family acaryas they can give initiation into Ananda Marga sadhana and they should take a leadership role in the local unit. Family acaryas do not wear a special uniform. In the bottom row on the right side there is a picture of a family acarya in the above cartoon. They can be female also.

Brahmacarii / brahmacarinii: Those who opt to become Wt sannyasis and complete the first level of training are known as brahamacariis for males and brahmacariniis for females. They work whole-time in the organisation teaching sadhana and doing social service. They wear a uniform: orange top, white pants or gown, and turban etc. There is a picture of a brahmacarii in the middle row of the above cartoon on the left side.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Avadhuta / avadhutika: Those sannyasis who successfully complete their training as a brahamcarii / brahmacarinii are then initiated as an avadhuta for males and avadhutikas for females. They work whole-time in the organisation and have orange dress from head to toe. They teach sadhana, oversee service projects, lead workshops etc. There is an image of an avadhutika in the bottom row on the left side of the above cartoon.

In Him,
Santosa

Dhyana mantra: unique points

Ananda Marga ideology guides us, “Dhyána is meditation on the Supreme Entity so that there is an incessant upward movement of the mind towards Parama Puruśa.” (1)

Note: In those days of old, in the hoary past, science was not sufficiently developed so as to have a photo of those Mahasambhutis. So, with the help of the dhyana mantra, bhaktas were able to imagine, to some degree, what Lord Krsna and Lord Shiva look like.

In contrast, nowadays, Sadguru Baba has provided much more information in written form which can be passed down from generation to generation - along with the varabhaya mudra photo. In addition, He has given all kinds of explanations about abhidhyana in various discourses. And for those sadhakas who delve deeper into various relations or bhavas, it becomes more complex.

In that case, Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji's dhyana mantra would need to explain everything, which is not so easy. Because no matter how long of a dhyana mantra people compose, it could never be on par with the vast amount of information which we already have in the form of photos and His wide gamut of literature.

That said, the overall idea of a dhyana mantra is ok if something apocalyptic were to occur; though, it is an illusion that such a doomsday event could transpire. But suppose that really everything did get destroyed, including all of His photos etc, then in that circumstance it would be extremely helpful to have a dhyana mantra of Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji in order to get an idea of what He looks like.

in Him,
Nat'esha

Re: That “great” dada Samanvayananda

IT  CONCERNS ALL

I am very sorry to state that the very meaning of Guru for any individual to realise his/her identity has been very unfortunately misconceived even among us. Our Baba has been very kind to tell us very categorically that the all-pervading Master Nucleus of the entire cosmological order as only to take one beyond the time function responsible for the diversity not only to make all appear different but even to feel different is the only GURU. As such He is not only omniscient but omnipresent with the person desirous to identify with the Supreme Self.

We are very fortunate to find our Baba as the great Guru always with us to guide, enlighten & to unify one really very restless to forgo his/ her all, with the Supreme Master Nucleus.

Samanvayananda (aka Shivanandji) as talked about in the context of the mail, be found totally to have deceived himself. He be found not only such person. The most unfortunate part is that the workers or even the griihis who got emboldened to take to sensual & worldly pleasure taking Baba as no more to see them after He physically left in 1990, deviated & formed even groups in their pursuits.

Our Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgh as founded by BABA to take forward His great mission Ananda Marga as purposely founded by Him without any dogmas & superstitions, giving first time liberty to all to march on to unify with the Supreme Entity, be found most unfortunately split into groups.

It is total abuse of the very purpose of Baba as the elected Purodha Pramukha. In stark contrast, Vishvadenandji alleged as controlled by Rudranandji & his caucus & Kinshukji declared now another Purodha Pramukh of a parallel Ananda Marga are found totally different as to rally against each other for their say.

It is really not hard that the persons really aspiring forgoing their all to unify with the Supreme Entity can ever remain different from each other. It is left totally to all margii brothers & sisters including the workers to come forward even now unitedly to take forward the great mission of our Baba.

Yours brotherly,
Er.Suresh.

Example of false history: still continues

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “If the chronicles of history merely describe who succeeded to the throne and when, who plundered the neighbouring countries or kingdom, and who became a minister, they will be of no importance whatsoever, nor, indeed, of any interest to the common masses. If human beings are to profit from the study of the annals of history, they must reflect the weal and the woe, the hopes and aspirations of the masses.”
“The annals of human history should show which communities brought about which amount of progress and prosperity in which area of social life and in which part of the world – only such significant events are worthy of being recorded. History should also maintain special records of the trials and tribulations which confronted human beings, how those trials and tribulations were overcome, how human beings tackled the numerous obstacles to effect greater social development, and so on. Only such history would I call the complete history or complete cultural history of the human race.” (1)

Note: Around the globe, false history is mostly being taught. For example in India 50 years ago, kids were taught that Columbus discovered an uninhabited land. The truth is that Columbus was an aggressor who destroyed the native populations. But instead they were propagating a false history in India about Columbus.

Similarly, in the southern part of the US, still today they are teaching a false history regarding the US Civil War. In the south it is propagated that the cause of the war was economic. When in truth, slavery was a major issue and a key cause of the US Civil  war.

MK Gandhi divided India

In India, they do not teach that MK Gandhi divided the country; rather they treat him as a hero. But the real history is that Gandhi was a coward and a villain who divided the country. But still today in India, false things are being taught to kids in history class with regards to MK Gandhi.

Here below is a link to an interesting account from that period.

PP Dada is ordinary human not spiritual head

Likewise in our AMPS many false things are being taught. For example, they propagate the notion that the first PP, i.e. Dada Shraddhananda, was the divine incarnate. When in truth PP Dada Shraddhananda was a coward and who destroyed the organisation. And at present also, many margiis are brainwashed and wrongly think that the current PP Dada is the spiritual head. But the truth is that PP Dada is ordinary human, pp is bound by maya. For instance, PP cannot give varabhaya mudra, or create any new Ananda Marga scripture. PP cannot become Guru. So it is utterly false to lay claim that PP is the spiritual head etc.

All in all, in His above teachings, Sadguru Baba guides us that a proper account of history should be rendered. The story will have to be told how those purodhas and avadhutas etc became so selfish, and betrayed the ideology by implementing the dogma of mahaprayan. In addition they expelled so many innocent and righteous sadhakas, and broke the organisation into pieces. This entire history will have to be recounted. Their names and black deed will be documented and explained in our AM historical record.  So it should be written how from 1955 up to today our Ananda Marga society moved forward with all kinds of trials and tribulations. That history would be quite interesting. That will be the true history of Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha.

Nightmare marriage + 4 more

Baba
Nightmare marriage

Namaskar,

Here are the key points of this letter:
1. Marriage in Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha is for society building, not for any religious dogma or materialistic ends.
2. Marriage is a lifelong commitment.
3. The boy and girl should meet and talk beforehand about their aims, goals, lifestyle, and personal preferences.
4. Ultimately the choice of marriage rests with them - the girl and the boy. They are to decide what to do.

Surprised to hear how Dinkar ran to save himself

Recently, on one rainy, dark, lunar midnight, a dear friend of mine came to my house and knocked on the door. I was surprised someone was at the door but after hearing his voice I brought him inside.

He was visibly shaken - nervous, upset, and worried. We talked at length. I found out that his spouse had beat him. She returned from a friend's wedding reception where she ate some tamasik food. It was quite apparent as the onion smell was emanating from her mouth. The husband objected. Then they started quarreling. Ultimately, he overreacted and verbally accosted her. In his fury, he called her nasty names. In turn, she beat and bruised him with a spatula. He ran away to save himself.

For reasons of privacy we shall refer to the husband as Dinkar and the spouse as Rani. Dinkar and I talked for hours that night. I calmed him down. Though I was shocked and surprised to hear since the inception of their marriage they have been quarreling on multiple issues. This was very astonishing to me because I always thought of theirs as an ideal marriage. I did not realise what was going on behind the scenes. All along I had been telling everyone that their marriage was successful. But now look what happened.

Margiis corroborate that this is common

Just to give you a little background, Dinkar and Rani were married at DMS. It happened quickly and it was nearly forced on them. I also found out that Rani's father gave Dadas a "contribution" of RS 50,000 to arrange the marriage and perform the ceremony. In this way Dinkar was bound. In addition, those Dadas praised Rani. But although her parents are good margiis it became clear that Rani herself wanted nothing to do with Ananda Marga.

Before this, it was known that she would eat tamasik food: onion, garlic, meat, and eggs when she was with her friends in town. She would eat those things outside the house - never bringing it into her own kitchen. Anyway, that night when Dinkar reached to my house, I clearly understood that they were living in hell. Externally it looked exemplary to others, but the reality was something quite different.

I tried to communicate with other margiis, near and far, about such matters and found that this type of thing was not uncommon, unfortunately. I synthesized all the info and now present these points to you to help ensure that such episodes do not happen again and again. Before the boy and girl even marry, something needs to be done to ensure that a mismatched marriage is averted in the future.

Should not have married

Marriage is such an important aspect of our Ananda Marga way of life. Family life plays a vital role on many societal levels so it is important that our Ananda Marga marriages be healthy, vibrant, and strong.

However, in our AM society some cases do arise where the marriage does not go well. In the case of Dinkar and Rani - although they belonged to margiis families and their parents were strong margiis - but as a married couple they did not match. They had different life goals. If they knew this ahead of time they would not have married one another. They married because their parents were margiis, not because they had a shared life vision. They hardly knew each other and Dadas and others were just painting a rosy picture by talking only positives. No one talked about the negative side. If they had known more about each other they would not have married.

This letter contains key guidelines and recommendations for ensuring two people in Ananda Marga have the best opportunity for a proper marriage. Everyone, especially parents and those seeking to get married, should be aware of these following points.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Ananda Marga marriage is for what?

As we all know - first and foremost - our Ananda Marga marriage system is purely for society building. Ananda Marga marriages are for creating a healthy, safe, and inspired environment for raising children in a conscientious manner. The married couple should be confident and ready to contribute to the all-round progress of society: individually & collectively, locally & globally etc. Marriage in Ananda Marga means commitment to one another and strict adherence to AM ideals. It is a unique system; this type of universal outlook is not formed in any other marriage system. They must build a proper unit family and embrace the greater universal family. This is our ideal.

It is in no way related with Hindu ritualistic marriages, western materialistic marriages, or any other "marriage system" from around the world. Nor do we follow or appreciate the new western model of "co-habitating" without marriage and living as a libertine. In all such cases, marriages are either based on external beauty, infatuation, money, post or social status, local or religious dogmas. These are the main allurements and aims most of the time.

Last year, two people married with the false expectation that the other would do all the cooking and cleaning, etc. Both the husband and spouse worked outside the home and neither wanted to attend to any domestic duties. Hence their marriage became a mess because they had the wrong impression from the outset. Today, both of their relations and families are involved daylong in settling their marital disputes.

This is what happens when such matters are not discussed ahead of time.

Meet & document in writing: duties, promises

The following are points all should be aware of when considering marriage - either their own marriage, or a marriage of a family member or friend.

1. Those getting married must firmly know in their mind that an Ananda Marga marriage is a lifelong commitment to one another for society building. The main idea is for both to take care of their progeny and make their children into bonafide members of society. There is no other outlook than this.

2. The two young people - the future husband and spouse - should get ample scope to talk beforehand. They should have the opportunity to get to know one another and decide for themselves if this is a good match. Here it should be clarified that "getting to know one another" does not mean dating or being boyfriend and girlfriend. The boy and girl can get to know one another in a neutral setting. We can all think and decide what that setting should be. It should be supervised, safe, yet private enough that they can talk freely.

a) They should talk about their goals and aims of life and frankly discuss what they want - i.e. their hopes and expectations. The parents will be a guiding force in arranging talks and meetings between the boy and the girl, but the parents should not impose their own idea of whether this is a good match. The final decision rests with the boy and the girl. So they should carefully evaluate if they share a similar outlook.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

b) The boy and girl should discuss things as basic as: Who will have outside employment? Who will cook? Who will raise the children? Where will we live? All these basic existential points should be discussed as far as possible. Nothing should be left to assumption; one must not rely on preconceived notions. They both should openly and clearly review and compare their vision for how their life will progress. And a final document - or contract - should be made in writing about their various duties and promises. This document should be witnessed and signed by various margii and relatives.

Unfortunately, all too often these things are not discussed; and, in result, there is much confusion and disappointment after marrying. What happens next is separation, marriage breaking, or even divorce.

Talk & see if they are compatible

c) They should talk about their role in Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha and their inner, personal link with Guru. If one is very involved in Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha and is attracted to sadhana and the other is from a margii family but has zero interest in Ananda Marga teachings, then that marriage is not going to work. So the boy and girl have to sincerely talk about their social and spiritual commitment to Ananda Marga ideals and Baba.

I know one margii family where the husband is somewhat dogmatic but the spouse wishes to sincerely practice Ananda Marga teachings. The husband attends Ananda Marga programs as well as other dogmatic religious gatherings like church etc and he tries to force his spouse to come to those as well. But the margii wife does not like to attend local religious church events. This has become a source of tension and strife.

There are some margii marriages where the husband is very sincere in 16 Pts and other do's and don'ts, but the spouse has other interests and ways of living. So she raised the children in her Islamic way, different from Ananda Marga. In result, the husband has become a stranger in his own house. Sometimes he wishes to sing kiirtan out loud, but with fear he does not do. He wants a home based on Ananda Marga socio-cum-spiritual ideals, but something else is going on. If any margii visits, then the spouse is not at all happy.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

d) Next the young man and young lady should talk about their own personal likes and dislikes related with everyday life - everything: music, sports, literature, food, friendships, exercise, reading, college or university studies, habits etc. They should get a full picture of one another.

e) As far as possible, the boy and girl should get a clear-cut vision of each other's mental outlook. Without that, they definitely should not marry.

Conclusion

To avoid the adverse effects and complications of a bad marriage, all marriage candidates should consider the following points:
1. Marriage in Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha is for society building, i.e. raising children, not for any religious dogma or materialistic lustful ends.
2. Marriage is a lifelong commitment.
3. The boy and girl should meet and talk beforehand about their aims, goals, lifestyle, and personal preferences.
4. Parents can arrange talks between the boy and the girl, but ultimately the choice of marriage rests with the girl and the boy. They are to decide what to do.

About Islamic cruelty & aversion to music

Ananda Marga ideology guides us, “Humanity, in its all-out quest for this aesthetic science, attained spirituality. One must acknowledge this. Herein lies the excellence of aesthetic science. For this reason, I have given my whole-hearted and explicit support for nandana vijiṋána. You know that there are certain religions which do not encourage aesthetic pursuits. You will notice that in those religions inertia, inferiority complexes and a sense of violence are predominant.” (1)

Key attribute of true Proutist

Shrii Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar says, "Prout is based on spirituality." (1)

Shrii Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar says, "Bodhi jinana, i.e. intuitional (spiritual) knowledge, can be utilised for solving mundane problems. Thus Prout is bodhi jinana." (2)

Note: On and off some have suffered from a particular dogma where they were claiming that communists and socialists are great Prout leaders. And sometimes they have also claimed that any type of atheistic thinker can be a great Prout leader. Such proclamations are completely wrong.

One should always remember the Propounder of Prout’s teaching that those who lack spirituality cannot understand Prout. That means one must be firmly established in sadhana to be a Prout leader. Without that, they will be unfit to lead. Calling a non-sadhaka a great Prout leader is akin to saying that a pig lying in the dirty drain is the cleanest and most pristine living being of this universe. On this matter there should not be any confusion. Top sadhakas alone are capable of being leaders of Prout and guiding the society forward. Here is Ananda Marga philosophy’s complete teaching on this matter:

Shrii Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar says, “PROUT is based on spirituality. Neohumanism is also based on spirituality. Neither PROUT nor Neohumanism are subservient to each other.” (3)

Shrii Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar says, “Knowledge is of two kinds: intellectual and intuitional. Intellectual knowledge is based on experience, hence it is embedded in relativity. It cannot therefore claim to be absolute. Intuitional knowledge is transcendental in character. It dissects and analyses everything by itself, therefore it is absolute.”
“The approach of PROUT is subjective approach through objective adjustment. This presupposes a connecting link between intuition and intellect. This connecting link or touching point is called “Bodhi Jiṋána”. With the help of Bodhi Jiṋána, intuitional knowledge can be utilized for solving mundane problems. Thus PROUT is a Bodhi Jiṋána.”
“Logic is a psychic survey. Such a survey may or may not be correct, therefore it is futile to follow logic blindly. The result of your psychic survey is called your rationality. This psychic survey, embedded in relativity, may or may not be correct. Intuitional vision is the best logic. Intuitional vision should be your guiding ideology. For example, it is an axiomatic truth that everything has come from the Cosmic Father and everything will merge in Him, but this truth is beyond the scope of intellectual logic.” (4)

Widespread, harmful effects of religion

Ananda Marga ideology states, "Dharma is based on the solid foundation of vigour derived from universal love. The goal of religion is a non-integral entity and as such there remains a narrow outlook. The goal of dharma, however, is infinite Brahma. So the pursuit of dharma increasingly expands one's vision. Sometimes a kind of alliance is noticed between religions but that is entirely an external alliance. The talk of synthesis of religions is totally absurd; it is merely an apparent show of honesty and grandiloquence to hoodwink the common people. Dharma is always singular in number, and never plural. So there is no question of religious synthesis in dharma. Religion is always plural in number – never singular. The synthesis of religions means their annihilation. Where impermanent entities are worshipped as the goal through various ritualistic paraphernalia, there is no scope for synthesis."
"Religion is practiced for the fulfilment of mundane aspirations. This is the reason why a class of clergymen emerged centring around the religion. Ultimately the adherents of these religions become mere tools in the hands of vested interests. With the awakening of nityánitya viveka in human minds and the opening of the door of scientific knowledge, it will not be possible to deceive the people in the name of religion or by holding out the lure of happiness in the next world. The vested interests are quite aware of this fact and hence strive to keep the masses lost in the darkness of ignorance. Like parasites, they manoeuvre themselves to misappropriate, by injecting fear and inferiority complexes, a lion's share of what the ignorant masses earn with their sweat and blood."
"Religious exploiters maintain an unholy alliance with the capitalistic exploiters. With hands upraised, a religious preceptor blesses the wealthy merchants for their future prosperity but refuses to see the faces of his poor disciples who fail to provide handsome prańámii (a fee for the priest's blessing). You will notice that in many religions mythological stories and fables are given more importance than science and rational ideas because they contain ample scope for exploitation of human weaknesses."
