Example: how AM teachings getting ruined

The below scan is an iconic example of how Sadguru Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji’s teachings are on the path of ruination. Here below one margii, Mr. A.K. Lal has made scan and wrongly indicating that this is Baba’s quote without supplying any references. Just there two phrases in Hindi followed by “Shrii Shrii Anandamurti”. This gives the notion that these are Guru’s teachings. Then beneath that it states: “Photo AK Lal.”

Sadly, it is obvious Mr. Lal  is more interested in highlighting his own name than giving proper references where this quote came from. However for any true disciple, by reading the quote it quite evident that this is not Baba's teaching.


Devious followers: put garbage in Lord Krsna’s name

This entire episode demonstrates how the first step of ruination of Baba’s teaching is already done, If it continues then every Tom, Dick, and Harry will start writing their own mental feeling and stick Baba's name as the signature. By this way, gradually all those dogmas which are forbidden like idol worship and caste marriage and gay marriage will suddenly be condoned and appreciated. Next they will say, “Meat-eating is very good for Ananda Margiis - Shrii Shrii Anandamurti.”

Today this may look outlandish but history proves that this is the way distortion happens. For instance, if you pick up Lord Krsna’s teachings you will find that the caste system is appreciated. It was only when Baba clarified this matter the it became clear that Lord Krsna did not appreciate the caste system. Rather Lord Krsna opposed the caste system but devious followers put their dogmatic views in Lord Krsna’s name.


Save Baba’s teachings from ruination

Shockingly, the same thing going on here with Sadguru Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji. OK - if you, Mr. AK Lal, really think that this is Baba's teaching in the below image then why did you not give the reference in the first place. Why were you keeping it hidden. This idea of concealing the reference and propagating it as Baba's teaching is the path of ruination of Ananda Marga philosophy.

If you the reader find any sincere or insincere margii or non-margii doing the aforesaid things then best is to follow the Caryacarya’s rules on shasti / corrective punishment and guide them properly. Only then will we be able to save Baba’s teachings from ruination.

Ananda Marga Caryacarya states, "If the boy and the girl settle their marriage themselves, it is proper for the guardians to give their consent." (1)

In the above teaching Baba only approves that marriage should be between a boy and girl.  Baba does not appreciate that humans should marry cats and dogs etc. Humans should not follow a LGBT lifestyle.

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "In the manner prescribed for marriage in our Marga, both the boy and the girl have to take equal responsibility." (2)

These above two quotes are provided to debunk the false gay propaganda that Baba never said which gender one should marry. See above, it is obvious that only boys and girls can marry one another.

Gay bowel syndrome refers to some combination of intestinal or anorectal infection/trauma among male homosexuals. Homosexuals do not like this phrase,

this phrase was coined by some physicians in response to a “clinical pattern of anorectal and colon diseases encountered with unusual frequency” in homosexual men in New York City in 1976. These authors noted that in a sample of 260 homosexual men, “The clinical diagnoses in decreasing order of frequency include condyloma acuminata, hemorrhoids, nonspecific proctitis, anal fistula, perirectal abscess, anal fissure, amebiasis, benign polyps, viral hepatitis, gonorrhea, syphilis, anorectal trauma and foreign bodies, shigellosis, rectal ulcers and lymphogranuloma venereum.”(2)


Some details of anorectal problems among male homosexuals

The internal anal sphincter (an involuntary muscle) does not look favorably upon foreign objects attempting to enter the rectum. This muscle relaxes during defecation, but remains in a contracted state otherwise, which seals the anal opening.

For a period following receptive anal sex, the internal anal sphincter is stretched and is unable to contract strongly, thereby failing to completely seal the anal opening until the muscle regains its original tone. Repetitive anal sex, especially with large organ or rectal insertions of large objects may damage the internal anal sphincter, thereby preventing complete sealing of the anus, and leading to fecal mucus seepage (anal or fecal incontinence). Additionally, anal sex exacerbates fecal seepage by stimulating colonic motility, which sends feces from the colon down into the lower rectum.

The soiling of clothes from fecal seepage is a problem for many homosexuals. Goldstone mentioned a study where 25% of homosexuals that practiced anoreceptive intercourse and 50% of AIDS-afflicted homosexuals had anal incontinence compared to a 3% rate among heterosexual men. Miles et al. compared 40 male homosexuals (all practiced anoreceptive sex) with 18 male heterosexuals. Only one heterosexual but 14 (35%) homosexuals had frequent anal incontinence.

To avoid soiling of clothes, homosexuals with mild problems are advised to use a menstrual-type pad in the back of their underwear to absorb moisture and waste. Homosexuals with big buttocks require a fluffed-up cotton ball placed against the anal opening, together with a pad to help absorb moisture throughout the day. Medical advice for homosexuals with persistent soiling includes rectal wash-outs to remove residual feces from the anal canal after bowel movements. This involves inserting an ear syringe into the rectum that is filled with warm water and coated with a water-soluble lubricant. Squeezing the syringe gently and repeatedly helps wash out any residual feces from the anal canal

Frequent, especially prolonged anal sex often leaves tiny tears (anal fissures) around the anal opening. This prompts the internal anal sphincter to contract strongly, and makes it difficult for homosexuals to engage in receptive anal sex. To deal with anal fissures, homosexuals use butt plugs, which also effectively seal the anus.

Original Ananda Vanii states: “Human civilization now faces the final moment of a critical juncture. The dawn of a glorious new era is on its one side and the worn-out skeleton of the past on the other. People have to adopt either of these two. You are the spiritual soldiers, you are the worshippers of Life Divine, hence I call upon you to adorn this crimson dawn deluged with glorious light. Victory is surely yours.” (Ananda Vanii #26)

Note: Sadguru Baba has assigned a number to all His original and true Ananda Vaniis. In contrast, Fake Ananda Vaniis do not have any number. By this simple formula, one can easily recognise which is a true Ananda Vanii and which is fake. For the recent occasion of January 1st 2017, all Ananda Marga units should have used one of Baba’s original and true Ananda Vaniis, not a fake one. By this way, one will surely get His blessing.

Ananda Marga philosophy says, “The social and religious rights of women were curtailed in numerous ways so that they would be kept forever in thrall to the men. They were even forbidden walking in the open space under the open sky. Covered in burkas and veils, they were reduced to the status of caged birds living on seeds and water. It was decreed that they were not entitled to their ancestral property. The girls were given much less than the boys. It was categorically declared that they were not entitled to mukti or mokśa; that women go to heaven, it’s true, but the men get all sorts of privileges there that women cannot get. These rubbish ideas have died out due to various circumstances. In some places they are in the process of extinction, and in other places they are totally extinct.” (1)

The below scene is a gathering of females and they are not allowed to show their face. Seeing this inhumane condition, Sadguru Baba is graphically opposing this dogma. Please pay attention to the chain which they are holding in their right hand. Because their face is fully covered, they can’t see very clearly what is around them. So going from point A to point B, they may lose the path and go astray. To avoid this catastrophe, this system is there. So, when they are going from point A to point B, and if on the way there may be a crowd, then one male member leads the group, and the females all follow behind holding onto the rope. You might have seen, in rural areas when farmers want to take a group of cattle from point A to point B, they chain all those animals, like this. Especially they do this, when there are crops on both sides of the road. In that way this below scene is very inhuman and ghastly. In Islam, females are treated like animals. And this is the proof. Baba opposes such types of cruelty. And these types of torture of women, are a blot on human society.

How the burka came in India

   Ananda Marga Ideology states, “There was a time in India when the ruling class would kidnap women. The burka was introduced throughout northern India, where this particular ruling class had undisputed authority, so that those wicked men could not see the women’s faces.”
   “At that time dogma pervaded not just a few, but all aspects of life. Dogma in the psychic realm thwarts human progress. Dogma has long been rampant in our society, and wherever there is dogma, there cannot be proper conduct, or the development of rational intellect, or the thought of genuine sacrifice.” (2)

This above teaching is related with Muslim rulers, those who invaded the country from the Middle East, and occupied a large section of India. In the above teaching, Baba is indirectly talking about those Muslim rulers. They were forcibly abducting girls, so non-Muslim people also started using veils, to save themselves from barbaric attack and kidnapping by their own Islamic kings.

In His above teaching, Baba is talking about scenes like the one portrayed in the above photo. Many may not understand what is meant by a veil. But here you can see what a veil really is. The entire head is covered - as is the rest of their body - and if you look carefully you will notice a small screen in front of the eyes. This allows them to see in a very contrived and limited manner. The field of vision is just barely enough to walk and move around. But nobody can see from the outside in.

This is extremely suffocating - the flow of air is stifled making it even difficult to breathe. That is why it is non-hygienic as one is breathing the same air, even when outdoors.

The worst thing is that this rule of wearing a veil is mostly imposed in the Middle East amidst searing temperatures in the hot desert sun. Plus it is used in parts of Africa, and throughout northern India where in the past Islamic rule was enforced by the sword. These are hot climate areas and that makes it more terrible. To cover the body from head to toe in such extreme heat is nothing but hell in the name of religion.

Those wearing such veils were indoctrinated into this lifestyle since their birth. So they become habituated with it and some do not even want to leave this dogma.

Distortion in Ánanda Sútram

Ánanda Sútram was not originally given by Sadguru Baba in Bengali. Yet many naive people are confused about this.


Sútra given in Saḿskrta

Here are some important points about how Ánanda Sútram was given. As Ananda Margiis, this is something we should all be aware about as Ananda Sutram stands as our philosophical treatise. In the very early days of AMPS, Bábá graciously delivered the sutras that comprise Ánanda Sútram. He dictated each sútra in Saḿskrta (Sanskrit), and then side by side He gave the purport of each sútra in Bengali. These two components are the source material for all other language editions of Ánanda Sútram.

Over the years, some have wrongly proclaimed that Ánanda Sútram is originally from Bengali - but upon a more careful review we can rationally understand that Ánanda Sútram is a Saḿskrta (Sanskrit) text.

Sútra is main item

In its entirety, there are 85 sútras in Ánanda Sútram and each one of those sútras has been given in Saḿskrta; and that is what Ánanda Sútram is: The Saḿskrta sútras. With a keen eye, we can understand that Ánanda Sútram is Saḿskrta. Because the main component of Ánanda Sútram is the sútras - and those sútras have been given in Saḿskrta. Plus the title itself is Saḿskrta (Sanskrit).

In the past, various rśis (rishis) also wrote Saḿskrta sútras - such as Patanjali's Yoga Sútras etc; but those rśis did not put forth any purport. Years later, scholars wrote their own purports of the various sútras given by those rśis of old; but those purports were not accurate. They did not properly depict what those old rśis wanted to convey in their original sútras. In result, so many aspirants  and students were led astray by these faulty purports.

Why purport was needed

To prevent such problems from ever happening with Ánanda Sútram, Bábá Himself has graciously given both the sútra and the purport. This has left no scope for others to misinterpret His given sútras. The point being Ánanda Sútram is the original 85 sútras - and those are all Saḿskrta. And Bábá has given the explanation of those sútras in Bangla (Bengali).

Uninformed people and also some interest groups repeat again and again that Ánanda Sútram is Bengali, but they just have their own agenda. They are not concerned with the truth. By loudly stating again and again - "Ánanda Sútram is Bengali" - they hope to convince and befool others. But this is nothing but their tactic of Bengalization, i.e. placing Bengali on top at the expense of other languages.

Conclusion: it is a Saḿskrta text

By all this, every Ananda Margii can readily understand that Ánanda Sútram is a Saḿskrta text. Ánanda Sútram is Saḿskrta because Ánanda Sútram refers to the sútras, not the purports. And all the sútras have been given by Sadguru Baba in Saḿskrta (Sanskrit). And the title of the book is also Saḿskrta. It is only because the Saḿskrta language does not have its own script that the sútras were written in Shriiharśa (Bengali) script. The conclusion is that Ánanda Sútram is originally a Saḿskrta text.

How negative samadhi is destructive

   Ananda Marga philosophy says, "By the way you should know that samádhi does not only occur as a result of a certain realization; other samádhis can occur on indriyas or the five fundamental factors. When the mind is focused on a particular object and becomes intensely concentrated it is called samádhi. According to spiritual science the samádhi attained when the entire mind is pin-pointed on Parama Puruśa is called prajiṋá samádhi."
   "When a sádhaka focuses his or her mind on the solid factor (solid is one of the five fundamental factors) and thinks “I am the earth” he or she attains kśitibhaetik samádhi, losing all practical intelligence in the process. Those who constantly think about rupees or dollars attain a kind of samádhi, too, for they become completely identified with their crude object of attraction. If such people incur heavy losses due to the collapse of their business or bank, they will die an instant death, for the pillars on which their life was built crumbled beneath them. So, once they lost their wealth, they lost their lives too." (1)

Story of my own cousin

Note: Tragically, my own cousin experienced this type of negative samadhi. During the economic downturn in 2009, he became very worried about his finances. He had an inheritance of 20 million dollars and he thought he was going to lose it all. He experienced a very strange, deep, dark depression and feelings of hopelessness and helplessness.

Finally, his mind just stopped - and he sat there frozen - completely fixated on the prospect of losing all his money. He sat in a comatose state completely engrossed in thoughts about losing money - everything else in his mind vanished. It was just money, money, money. He skipped his food, ignored natural call, and sat in one spot all day long for almost 1 week. He did not die, but he came very close to death. When at last he emerged from this state, he was totally unaware about what had happened. It was as if he had been in a vacuum.

Baba's warning is that mundane things like money or wealth should never be one's object of ideation. Worldly things are by definition transient. They slip away. And when that happens, people become shocked, even negative samadhi. This becomes very serious for those who were very attached with those objects. They will fall into a state of terrible misery, and perhaps even death.

Best is to goad and point the mind to Parama Purusa. Because if one is fixated on the mundane and prone to that negative type of samadhi then one may remain depressed or even resort to suicide…

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Just as the living world is divided into two categories – those who live in groups and those who live alone – similarly regarding family life, all creatures are divided into two broad classes: creatures with family ties (for example, elephants, lions and pigeons) and those without any family ties (for instance, tigers, dogs, cats, goats, etc.).” (1)

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “At the beginning of evolution, humans used to lead libertine lives without any consideration for family obligations, but they gradually developed a family instinct. However, that family instinct was no different from that of the elephants, lions, pigeons, etc. Due to this inborn instinct, males and females arrived at a loose but workable compromise regarding family life. But in that there was no sense of responsibility born out of a developed conscience; rather, due to their loose relationships with each other, one person used to desert another and go anywhere he or she liked. The number of such libertines was very high, and they used to disturb the peace and harmony of the so-called family members and become the cause of many serious quarrels.” (2)

Tobacco Industry and Child Labor: PROUT solution

Here is a case study about exploitative business practices of the Tobacco industry. Below is an excerpt from an investigative article on the malpractices adopted by tobacco manufacturers to maximize their profits by exploiting the poor. Cigarettes sold in developed countries contain tobacco leaves produced on farms in impoverished countries by children of tenant farmers working on these tobacco fields. This is an example of how the vices of a few rich people are costing many children their childhood and education. Children in poor developing nations such as the ones listed below are forced to stay out of school and work in tobacco farms under hard conditions to produce leaves for cigarettes sold in the so-called first-world nations like US, UK, and other European countries. These children are from impoverished families trapped in generational poverty and have no choice but to work shoulder to shoulder with adults in their family to supplement family income to fulfill their families' basic needs. In the end, the tobacco industry profits from this hard labor and does not adequately compensate these toiling farmers and their children on tobacco farms. Tobacco firms make empty promises of preventing children from working on these farms which they never live up to. This is the dire situation today in an industry which produces Cigarettes, a product which is not only non-essential and totally unnecessary for leading a good life, but also harmful to those who use them. Overall this is a situation in which everyone else, but the capitalists are losing something. The biggest loss to the society is the loss of its children's hope for a bright future. (see ref A)


Analysis of the situation by PROUT philosophy - 1

On the face of it, this is a case of economic exploitation. The root of the problem, however, lies deep in the psychic diseases of the human mind such as greed of the exploiters, fear and ignorance of the exploited and lack of morality in the so-called developed nations, where both tobacco consumption and finding means of livelihood by selling tobacco are not looked upon as disgusting vices and shunned. This is a multi-faceted problem and solutions lie in Ananda Marga's spiritual, social and economic philosophies.

From an economic point of view, awakening the masses to PROUT, educating them and implementing PROUT in every socio-economic unit is the only solution to rampant economic exploitation by capitalists.

Ananda Marga Philosophy says, "PROUT always stands for the cause of exploited people, irrespective of race, nation, religion etc., and always opposes all types of exploitation. But as poverty is the main problem in the world today, PROUT gives top priority to opposing economic exploitation, as this affects the livelihood and existence of the people. To solve this problem and other pressing socio-economic problems, popular movements based on anti-exploitation and universal sentiments should be launched throughout the world. Such movements should oppose all forms of economic, psychic, cultural and psycho-economic exploitation. In addition, they should undertake appropriate practical programs to enhance the all-round welfare of the people." (1)

Analysis of the situation by PROUT philosophy - 2

With the above teaching, Baba emphasizes an urgent need for socio-economic movements against exploitation. These revolutions need to focus on ensuring everyone in a socio-economic unit has access to the basic necessities of life, food, clothing, housing, healthcare, and education. None of these necessities should be handed over to the people as dole-outs but need to be a result of increased purchasing capacity guaranteed by employment to 100% of the population in any socio-economic unit. Now, the problem we see here in the case study is, despite being employed on tobacco farms, these poor farmers have no guarantee of a sustained income to provide for themselves and their families because greedy capitalists and big tobacco firms, who benefit from this cheap human labor are diverting the profits gained from growing tobacco leaves on these farms to other socio-economic units for their own benefits. One important PROUTistic guideline Baba gives in this respect is below. (see Baba's quote, ref B)

PROUT propounds an economic model that functions through maximum utilization of local resources and labor for the benefit of the local socio-economic unit. This is a structure in which small-scale industries and cooperatives are encouraged where the laborers have a direct stake in the profit earned in this process. There is no question of the results of the labor of one socio-economic unit leaving that unit and benefiting individuals elsewhere. A PROUTistic economy is a decentralized economic model. In this model, every socio-economic unit has economic democracy in which all materials are produced in that particular unit is for consumption to satisfy the basic needs of the people first rather than for maximizing profits. This model ensures each and every socio-economic unit functions in a sustainable and self-sufficient manner.  However, in the current capitalistic economy, we see just the opposite happening and as consequence families are stuck in generational poverty, ultimately making their children victims in this process. So, what is the solution?

Solution

As long as multinational corporations are involved, the situation cannot be solved. Because these multinational corporations will never give fair value due to their greed for maximum exploitation.
In this case, the raw material is the tobacco plant.

  • The cigarette factory should also be established in the very same socio-economic units where the tobacco plant is grown. And all the labor working in this industry must be local to that socio-economic unit or samaj.
  • To establish these new industries, local people should be given government loans, and in that way they can form cooperatives.
  • Those who are in some or other way involved in this process-- from cultivation to final product-- only they will be allowed to join as shareholders in running the entire project. Outsiders and non-involved people will not be permitted to join the cooperative. That is, middlemen will not be allowed.
  • From beginning to end, the entire process will be controlled by local people. From cultivation of the crop to the final product, all will be managed and controlled by local people.
  • The import of finished tobacco products should be banned. Surplus finished goodes should be exported.
  • Gradually, those who are addicted to tobacco products should be convinced to give up their bad habits. And slowly, this tobacco industry should be converted to another industry which is based on any other sort of local resources which are available.

With this approach, in the absence of multinational corporations or capitalist middlemen, there will not be any exploitation. This is the permanent solution.

Ananda Marga Philosophy says, "Those spiritual revolutionaries who work to achieve such progressive changes for human elevation on a well-thought, pre-planned basis, whether in the physical, metaphysical or spiritual sphere, by adhering to the principles of Yama and Niyama, are sadvipras... Now the duty of the sadvipra is to see that the dominating class does not take recourse to exploitation." (3)

Sadvipras, essentially, are spiritually awakened, and intellectually sound revolutionaries, strongly established in Yama and Niyama, who by the dint of their intellect guided by their spiritual strength can bring changes in the society in all three spheres of existence, physical, psychic and spiritual. Sadvipras are the harbingers of change and have a huge responsibility of ensuring no one particular group is exploited.

Ananda Marga Philosophy says, "Sadvipras are not inactive witnesses. They are active participants to see that no person or class exploits the rest. For this, they may have to resort even to physical violence, because the sadvipras will have to strike at the source of the power [of the class] which is tending to become the exploiter. In case the kśatriya class are becoming exploiters, the sadvipras may have to resort to physical force, and in an age where the intellectual or vipra class are dominating, they will have to bring about a revolution in the intellectual field. In case the vaeshyas are dominating, the sadvipras may have to contest and win elections, because the vaeshya class rules by democracy, and the democratic set-up enables them to accumulate undue gains." How to end this exploitation - 2
Ananda Margiis around the world will have to endeavor to become sadvipras themselves. Sadvipras will then have to work towards the spiritual and intellectual awakening of the masses by propagating tenets of Dharma, Yama, and Niyama. Any revolution that happens in the society motivated by an external physical or psychic coercion, without being inspired by an internal intellectual understanding of problems of the day, will either die soon or get misguided when the external coercion wanes away. Hence, it is imperative that the socio-economic movements and revolutions be guided by internal inspiration one gains by the strength of spirituality and intellect guided by the Supreme Consciousness. To this end, it becomes the bounden duty of sadvipras to intellectually and spiritually inspire the masses to strengthen the resolve of the society from within to fight the exploiters. Sadvipras in the society should propagate Ananda Marga philosophy to help the masses identify all forms of exploitation like capitalism, religious dogma etc. and fight against them fearlessly. They need to introduce the masses to refined ideas like the purity of occupation or Samyak Ájiiva, being an essential factor on the path of salvation. By this, one understands the need to have an honorable profession. In a society built on a foundation of these refined subtle tenets of Ananda Marga Philosophy, there is no scope for one to adopt selling tobacco as one's profession, let alone use it as a means to exploit the weaker sections of the society to amass wealth. A well-knit society based on the ideals of cosmic brotherhood is the need of the hour. All socio-economic movements and sadvipras spearheading these movements should endeavor to create such a social structure for universal welfare.

Ananda Marga ideology says, "Then the fourth one is Samyak Ájiiva, proper physical and psychic occupation. One may earn money by stealing but it is not called a proper occupation. One may earn money by gambling but it is also not a proper occupation. One’s occupation should be pure. It must not go against the interest of the collective body." (5)

"The Guardian’s investigation found:
  • In Malawi: Children being taken out of school to weed the tobacco fields and harvest the leaves by parents who live in dire poverty. Some families in straw huts are paid nothing for 10 months until the tobacco crop is sold after the harvest. They live on a pail of maize a week provided by their landlords and must raise money to mill it by extra piecework in the fields, often also done by the children.
  • In Mexico: The Guardian saw children working in seven of 10 plantations visited in March in the Nayarit region, despite progress being made by industry and government to tackle the problem and keep children in school.
The US Department of Labor lists 16 countries where children are suspected to work in tobacco. Human rights organizations including Human Rights Watch have documented child labor in the tobacco fields in Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Indonesia, Brazil and most recently Zimbabwe.
Each kilo of tobacco is estimated to provide enough for 1,200 cigarettes; tenant farmers in Kasungu last year earned 200 kawacha (30 cents or 23p) per kilo when the crop was sold."

Ananda Marga Philosophy says, "Capitalists, in either their singular or collective forms, are the most pernicious economic exploiters today. All over the world they are continually exploiting local economies and draining their wealth. In nearly all cases the profits they accrue are spent outside the local area and remitted to outside stockholders and parent companies. An essential measure to control this economic exploitation is that the speculative markets in all countries of the world should be closed down immediately.... labour-intensive industries based on the collective minimum requirements of life should be started immediately or made more productive where they already exist. These industries should be based on the consumption motive. They should also provide a rational profit in order to guarantee adequate purchasing capacity to those employed in them and to ensure their continued existence and growth." (2)
