True recipe for unity + 5 more

Baba
True recipe for unity

Namaskar

Prior to 1970, Sadguru Baba introduced the sadhana year and all were deeply involved in spiritual practices. By this way, sadhakas felt very connected with one another. All were helping each other. Where sadhakas are engaged in sadhana - whether they are known to each other or not - they will naturally feel close and develop a deep, familial link with those around them.

So, in any unit or any land where people do sadhana, they get the attraction of the Divine Entity; they move closer towards Parama Purusa. By that way, they start feeling oneness with each other and help one another. And that is the real human family. Indeed, that is our family, and that is our Ananda Marga way of life. If we follow Sixteen Points and the meditation system which Baba has given, there will not be any need for any type of external pressure to unite. Rather, unity will be a natural result because bhakti is the main attractive phenomena.

Why the future is bright

In this way, positive microvita gets generated along with a soothing, psycho-spiritual vibration. And everything works out by His grace. Those involved in sadhana naturally aim to follow His each and every guideline - not out of fear of Guru, but with their reverence and bhakti to attain Him, and out of a genuine, heartfelt loving feeling to serve others.

Ananda Vanii says, "All the beings of this universe are the kith and kin of one another...Every problem is to be considered as the collective problem of the universal humanity and it is to be resolved collectively..." (1)

We are fortunate and truly graced as we are treading on the very path which He has given. So it is our duty to guide others and bring everyone on the path of supreme blessedness. Ananda Marga ideology is the solution to all the problems. The first and foremost duty of every Ananda Margii is to strictly follow Sadguru Baba's guideline, and help others to also move on the path He has shown - with the only goal of pleasing Him. Thinking along these lines, I always feel deep hope about our future. And the reason is very simple: Baba has given us His assurance and eternal blessing.

Conclusion

Parama Purusa, created this entire universe, and He is attracting one and all with His divine force. So His special grace is attracting everything - animate and inanimate. And, on the human plane, all the jiivas are dancing around Him. The essence of this entire letter is neatly expressed in Sadguru Baba’s below teaching.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

"Sab tha'in mor ghar a'che a'mi sei ghar mari khujiya', Deshe deshe mor desh a'che a'mi..."

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "My house is everywhere. How desperately I search for that house of mine. Every country is my country. I shall surely discover that country of mine. I may be a foreigner, but to whichever house I go, I find my own abode. I will find the right door to enter the house. In every house live my dearest relations. I am desperately searching for them." (2)

In Him,
Sarita’

Apta vakya states, “A correct spiritual ideology is the only solution to the problems confronting the world. From this perspective we can call Ananda Marga ideology the philosophers’ stone. Just as the philosophers’ stone is meant to transform everything into gold, Ananda Marga ideology can, most definitely, find a just and rational solution whenever it is applied to any problem.” (3)

Acting according to Your desire

"Apár ananta tumi ki bá jáni ámi, tomár krpáy mor din cale jáy..." (Prabhat Samgiita #2147)

Purport:

My Parama Purusa, You are endless and infinite and the vast ocean of bliss, while I am small and meagre. So how much can I know of You; I know not. Baba, my days are passing only by Your grace. I am floating on in Your flow. By chanting Your name and singing Your song and glory, I am marching forward according to Your desire, on the path which You have shown to me.

Parama Purusa, I love You - and smile and weep in a spiritual flow, while calling Your name, in Your longing. By chanting Your name and ideating on You, I am drenched in Your overflowing bhakti. Ensconced in that vibration, I sing and dance. Baba, Prabhu, to do Your work, I come onto this earth again and again. The way You want my life to proceed is the way it moves on. You make me act according to Your desire.

My Supreme Entity, one cannot know Your whereabouts or get You by the study or debate of scripture, philosophy, or spiritual science. By this way, nobody can realise You. Baba, according to Your desire everything happens. All happens due to Your karuna', due to Your immense compassion.

Baba, You are infinite, beginningless, and endless. By chanting Your name and singing Your glory, my whole life is passing...

Notes for Prabhat Samgiita #2147:

[1] Ensconced in that vibration,
I weep and smile: Here below Ananda Marga philosophy enlists the many different ways a sadhaka might express the pious expressions of their deep feeling or bhakti and realisation.

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "When the mental flow of a spiritual aspirant moves along the introversial phase of Macrocosmic meditation, one’s animative force, having the potentiality of divinity itself, rises above all tendencies – all saḿskáras – and proceeds towards Eternal bliss. In this state the mind is vibrated with Cosmic feeling. The unexpressed divine qualities of the higher glands find expression and the resonance of the mind vibrates the nervous system. This gives rise to pious expressions in the physical body. In the case of those people whose occult feelings are not physically expressed due to causes associated with the nerves, the mental vibrations cause certain radical changes in the various glands within the body. These occult feelings are basically of eight types: stambha (astounding), kampa (trembling), sveda (sweating), svarabheda (hoarseness of voice), ashru (tears), romáiṋca (horripilation), vaevarńa (change of colour) and pralaya (fainting fit). There are other feelings associated with these major feelings. For examples, nrtya (dancing), giita (singing), viluńt́hana (rolling), kroshana (weeping), huḿkára (roaring), lálásráva (salivating), jrmbhańa (yawning), lokápekśá tyága (indifference), at́t́ahásya (bursting into laughter), ghúrńana (whirling), hikká (hiccoughing), tanumot́ana (relaxation of the physical body) and diirghashvása (deep breathing)." (A Guide to Human Conduct)

[2] Karun'a':
This is when one harbours a deep sense of empathy, is pained by another's suffering, and feels, "I should help them.” For example, suppose a beggar is wallowing in misery. By seeing his wretched condition, you felt, "I should help him and remove his agony.” This heartfelt feeling is the expression of karuna'.

Similarly, suppose a bhakta is suffering and unable to progress in the physical, psychic, or spiritual realms due to their own inherent negative samskaras. In such circumstances, Parama Purusa cannot bear to watch that sadhaka suffer. He feels He must rescue them immediately. With His deep empathy and mercy, Parama Purusa removes their agony, so that once again that bhakta can progress in all realms of life. This entire liila is called His karun'a'.

Difference Between Krpa' & Karun'a'

In the case of karun'a', Parama Purusa is moved by a bhakta's suffering and comes forward to save that bhakta. Whereas with krpa' (grace), the bhakta is not suffering but even then Parama Purusa is bestowing His blessing.

It is just like if a beggar is sick and suffering half-naked in the freezing cold. If with great empathy a passerby selflessly helps that beggar without expecting anything in return, that is karuna’. Because the passerby is moved and motivated into action by seeing the beggar's suffering. In contrast, if a student is not sick, and that person just wishes to give the student a gift, then that is krpa’.

When out of empathy Parama Purusa lovingly comes to the aid of the suffering bhakta to relieve them of their spiritual strife, that is the karuna of Parama Purusa; and, if that same bhakta is not suffering in the spiritual realm, yet Baba still bestows His blessing to enhance their bhakti, that is His krpa’ on the bhakta.

How to get Him

Ananda Marga ideology guides us, "In the fourth phase the relationship is just like a piece of paper; the unit consciousness of the spiritual aspirant is one side of the paper and the Cosmic Consciousness of Parama Purus'a is the other side of the paper; they are inseparable, one cannot be removed from the other. By His effulgence the unit existence, the existential faculty of the aspirant gets lighted, gets illumined. With His illumination the aspirant is to move forward and enjoy the Supreme Beatitude and the Supreme Composure." (1)

Note: Here above Baba is indirectly guiding about the last part of the practice of dhyana - which every sincere sadhaka practices regularly.

In meditation, the lowermost bhaktas think that God is in some other world. This is the sign of lowest grade bhaktas because in their mind Parama Purusa is very far away - somewhere in a very far away different world.

The next grade of bhaktas think that God is here in this world (loka) - “He is within my reach but He is a little far.” This is better than the worst grade but still not very elevated. The next stage of bhakta feels that, “Parama Purusa is my very near and He is my relation - father, or even my close intimate friend.”

And the highest grade bhakta is what is described above in Baba’s teachings. So this is a brief description of the various grades of bhaktas.

One should remember that sadhana is the effort to go close to Parama Purusa, and slowly the degree of closeness reflects the types of relation one has with Parama Purusa. So if a person is thinking that Parama Purusa is very far away in another world then they are the lowest of the low because the distance is far and they have to travel a lot.

If you think that He is your close, intimate friend then you are very close to Parama Purusa. But the most close to Parama Purusa is what is described in the above teaching. In the last stage, the unit mind merges into Cosmic Consciousness, and jiiva becomes Shiva.

How the wicked resemble subhuman

Ananda Marga ideology guides us, “Those creatures that pulsate in the darkness of the deep sea are blind due to the darkness; and hence by natural law, just as their bodies possess the power to radiate light, so as weapons some of them possess sensitive spines, some have glandular poison jets and some have attractive voices. With the help of these, they compensate for their lack of visual perception of form-vibrations and preserve their own existence by their subtler reception of other tanmátras or vibrations."
"The capacity of an instinctively wicked person to absorb vibration differs somewhat from that of an average person. The amount of beating that might endanger the life of average people, may be easily borne by those who are instinctively wicked. Very often they remain quite unconcerned about the bleeding that pours out of their cuts and wounds – rather they feel relieved from such bleeding. Such people can also perceive the premonitory hints of nature. In other words, in such matters their ways, to some extent, correspond to those of the sub-human creatures. Yet to attain such power even a virtuous person has to perform sádhaná or spiritual practice most diligently." (1)

Four types of scripts

Prout philosophy states, "In the present world there are four types of scripts – Indo Aryan, Semitic, Occido-Aryan and Mongolo-Chinese scripts."

"The Mongolo-Chinese scripts are pictorial scripts – all the letters of the scripts are pictures. They contain about 1055 letters. In the Occido-Aryan scripts there are 20 to 35 letters. In the Indo-Aryan scripts there are about 50 letters, and in the Semitic scripts there are 20 to 30 letters."

"The Chinese and Japanese practice of using Romanized Mongolo-Chinese script is unscientific."

"Arabic, Persian, Urdu, Sindhi, Kashmiri, etc. come under the Semitic scripts and are written from right to left. This is difficult to write and takes a long time to print. Malaya has abandoned Arabic script and adopted Roman script to overcome this difficulty."

"The scripts of Tibet and South-East Asia come under the Indo-Aryan scripts. They are quite good but difficulties arise in joining letters. Through practice it has been experienced that Roman script is the best script. It is the most scientific. Those who oppose it do so out of local sentiments. Proutists won't go against any local script, but they will encourage the most scientific script as the world script. At present Roman script is the most scientific script. Future generations may evolve a new script." (1)

How poor parenting ruins kids

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Antisocial behaviour is not always caused by lack of money. Where the parents or guardians are evil by nature, they try to infect the other members of their family with their disease. A few days ago I read in the newspaper that an upper-middle-class lady used to encourage her son to steal clothes, etc., from her neighbours by offering him money for cinema tickets if he did – in other words, by applying indirect pressure. When the incident became public, it was discovered that her family was not in financial difficulty. By putting pressure on her son, the lady was infecting him with her own mental disease.”

“There are many parents who, due to miserliness or whatever reason, deprive their children of delicious food and drink. (If there is some reason for this deprivation, they do not explain it to their children.) They serve such food and drink to others in the presence of their children without explaining to them why they are being deprived. As a result, the children, under the pressure of circumstance, steal to try to satisfy their natural desires.” (1)

Middle East crisis: why religion-based nations proves deadly

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Many people consider their temple to be the only sacred place of worship. But the funny thing is that the builders who construct temples are unholy people or untouchables, and are thus barred from entering their premises. Each religion has its own scriptures. Some scriptures are worshipped with such reverence that they are treated as deities. But the paper on which the scripture was written, and the printing and binding of the book were perhaps done by people of other religions. But once the book is complete it is transformed into a holy scripture and those who made it will not have the right to even touch it. In fact, not only the holy scriptures, but all books are considered as a symbol of the goddess of learning. To pay obeisance to the book by repeatedly touching the forehead with it is apart of religious observance. Many people spend huge sums of money to make an idol of clay only to immerse it in a river with pomp and ceremony to conclude the religious festival. But if the people of other religions happen to break even a finger of that idol terrible bloodshed will ensue. Thus, those who advocate the formation of countries on the basis of religious faith will cause irreparable damage by fragmenting human society.”

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “Human beings readily accept traditions without seeking the reasons behind them. Since ancient days the semitic people have been observing the practice of circumcision. Moses and Mohammed accepted this system which today has become tradition. The ancient Austrics used to worship the Sun. Their purpose was to please the Sun God and be blessed with heavy rainfall and bumper harvests. In the social system of the Austrics, women had a predominant role. Thus, in the system of worship and other religious ceremonies, the priest had no significant role. Even the Sun God was looked upon as a female deity and the Moon was a male God. The Sun God was addressed as “mother” and the worship done in her honour was called “Chat Puja”. Even today in Magadh Chat Puja is held twice a year during the harvest time. The sentiment of Chat Puja was so deeply rooted in Magadh that their system of worship is in vogue even today even after such tremendous Aryan, Buddhist and Moslem influence. Of course, in the external rituals of worship some changes have taken place, but the system of worship has not yet become extinct. Even the Moslems participate in the Chat Puja. In some areas they themselves organize the ritual and in other places they get the puja performed through the Hindus. This Chat Puja has now become a tradition. There was a time in Bengal when the Moslems used to worship Satyanáráyańa or the Oláicánd.”

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “From the above discussion it is apparent that religions engender hatred for others, blind faith, etc. in the minds of their followers. Through such religions it is next to impossible to establish unity in the society. Religious differences should be minimized as much as possible, but it should be remembered that blind faith in a religion cannot be forcibly eliminated. To strike at any type of sentiment will only cause that sentiment to grow stronger. Psychological methods will have to be employed to make people realize the irrational nature of blind religious faith. This requires a rational interpretation of philosophy through enlightened intellect. When the human mind is gripped by the fear psychology it gives indulgence to blind faith rather than logic and reason. If human fear is removed through logic and reason, the very basis for blind faith will be weakened. That is why human beings will have to be taught philosophical doctrines in a rational way. Furthermore, to remove the psycho-sentiment for a particular physical object, either the object itself should be removed or, by changing the very outlook through scientific and humanitarian reasoning, the person concerned should be separated from that sentimental object. For example, those who perform religious ceremonies in worship of the moon will find it difficult to continue their practice once, due to scientific advancement, they actually get the opportunity to walk on the moon. Blind faith must be removed through the application of science and humanistic appeals. People will have to be united under the common banner of one religion.” (1)

Postings on Democracy

In these few days and weeks, many minor and major elections are being held in numerous democratic states and nations across the globe. As Ananda Margiis, we should be cent-per-cent clear about Prout's critique of democracy so we can best educate others and raise awareness about the inherent weaknesses and deficiencies, as well as the positive points, of the various types of democracies that exist today.
