Key point about “bright side” + 5 more

Baba
Key point about “bright side”

Namaskar,

In His elaboration of "See the bright side", Baba has explained that everything in this universe is a mix of the three gun'as: sentient (sa'ttvika), mutative (ra'jasik), and static (ta'masik). Everyone and everything contains at least some amount of both sentient qualities, along with mutative and static qualities. If sattvagun'a is more dominant, we call that person or thing "good"; and, if tamahgun'a is more dominant, we call that person or thing "bad".
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Take the case of sentient food like rice, bananas, or spinach. That food is dominated by the sattvika quality, but it is not 100% sentient. All sentient foods have lesser quantities of mutative (rajasik) and static (tamasik) qualities. And when the static property dominates it means those sentient foods have become wilted, slimy, or rotten etc. In a similar manner, every inherently tamasik food item has some small degree of sentient aspects.

When one wishes to study painting and realizes that the top painting teacher is an opioid user then one has to overlook that drug habit of that teacher and embrace their unparalleled quality as a painting teacher. That is what is meant by, “See the bright side.” And, by this way, one will be able to learn a lot about painting from that teacher.

The great benefit is that ignoring the bad qualities and focusing on the good qualities allows us to learn easily.

Conclusion

Sadguru Baba has given us this great teaching, "See the bright side." If one wishes to learn something from anyone then one should overlook their bad qualities and try to find some good even in bad people. That is how to utilise, “See the bright side” formula.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

At the same time there are occasions when “See the bright side” should not be applied, such as when you want to bring someone on the right path or make that person better. Then don’t use, “See the bright side”, rather point out their flaws and sins, and force them to change.

Namaskar,
at His lotus feet,
Mahesh

Where to use “see the bright side” & where not

Above an example was given where “See the bright side” enabled a person to learn. But there are many instances where “See the bright side” should not be used. Those who are naive think it should be used everywhere. And they invite misery.

Here is one tiny example. Take the case of an intruder who forcibly entered Tom’s house using military weapons. Seeing this, Tom was mesmerized by their shiny weapons. When reporting this incident to the police Tom showered effusive praise upon those the intruder for having ultra-modern weapons etc and forgot to tell what they stole. Everyone immediately understood that Tom is so foolish. The intruder took away all Tom’s money and still he is praising their weapons, talent, and ammunition.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

So bear in mind that “See the bright side” is not used everywhere. The teaching, "See the bright side", should only be used when you have to learn from that person; and, it should not be used in other circumstances. But naive people do the opposite.

Build a new world

“Mánavatár ketan sammukhe dhari, egiye calechi tava pathe…” (Prabhat Samgiita #0878)

Purport:

Parama Purusa, raising the flag of neohumanism at the forefront, on this beautiful morning with the golden sunrays, holding the weapons of satya and cardinal justice, I march forward on Your path.

Baba, the refulgent lamp of hope glows in my consciousness. With Your grace, I shall build a new world based on the principles of neo-humanism. The wealth of Your krpa and karuna is with me, so I shall not fear any obstacles.

Parama Purusa, Baba I must confess that some delay has happened in establishing the era of neo-humanism. Still humanity is suffering. I have wasted time in lethargy and worthless actions. Today, holding a wee-bit of Your grace on my head, I advance onwards on Your path without looking back. My eyes are fixed on that lofty goal of building a new world based on neo-humanism…

Boundless knowledge

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “On the practical level, what happens is that the unconscious mind is all-pervading, integral and immeasurably vast. Through spiritual practices the riches of the unconscious mind are brought down into the subconscious mind. The spiritual aspirant then understands everything; he discovers the secret signs of knowledge. Then, according to his or her needs, he or she is able to bring this acquired wealth of the subconscious mind into the conscious mind and use it in the external world.”
“How much can book knowledge help a person! It goes in one ear and out the other. If, by means of sádhaná [spiritual practices], a person can bring into the subconscious mind the boundless knowledge that resides in the unconscious mind, then that becomes transformed into lasting riches which then are, or can be, employed extensively for the welfare of humanity.” (1)

Hidden repository

Ananda Marga ideology states, “The remedies for illnesses or answers to questions that a person receives at the shrine of different gods and goddesses is not due to the greatness of those gods and goddesses. As a result of sincere longing a state of one-pointedness arises in the mind and if, at that time, that person falls into deep sleep because of physical tiredness then the answers to his or her questions may descend from the unconscious mind into the subconscious mind. There the person receives the answers to his or her questions about illness or other questions according to his or her mental conceptions and beliefs. The person thinks that he or she has perhaps received these answers due to the grace of such-and-such god or goddess. Actually, thanks to the grace of the Supreme Consciousness, his or her unconscious mind is the hidden repository of infinite knowledge. Due to one-pointedness, the person has been able to temporarily submerge part of his mind within the boundaries of that profound knowledge.” (1)

Really, unite the various religions?

Ananda Marga ideology states, “Some intellectuals are in favour of respecting all religions. I say that such people cannot do anything to promote the solidarity of the human race, for most religions demand blind faith rather than rationality from their followers. “Don’t argue,” they proclaim. “Accept the teachings of the scriptures for they are the direct word of God.” The cunning intellectuals of the past imposed the importance of blind faith on the minds of their gullible followers. They told them to obey the teachings, rational or irrational, otherwise there would be no respite from the endless suffering of human life, no other path to take them to the eternal bliss of heaven.” (1)

Note: These days it is looked upon as great to respect all the religions. Especially when a tragic event occurs, the government organises various multi-faith prayer gatherings and rituals etc in an attempt to cultivate social harmony. But, as per Baba’s above teaching, that is the wrong approach. Indeed, these multi-faith types of gatherings featuring all the religions bring a fleeting tinge of good-feeling that is as temporary as a bubble of water. It will burst in a second. And then their internecine feuds and acts of exploitation rage on.

The root cause is that those who strictly follow a religious doctrine do not use logic and reasoning, and they do not develop genuine love for humanity. Rather, they misguide their followers into believing that their outlandish belief and faith is the greatest, i.e. they alone have the real God, and all others are fake, just lowly heathens. So their approach is wholly defective.

Then what is the way to proceed? The only way to unite all the peoples is to guide them that they must use their brain and become true human beings. Animals and religious followers do not use their rational intellect, only true humans do. So one should not follow any illogical precepts, regardless of the religion. If people understand and adhere to this fundamental code, the religions will fade away. People will realise this truth that humans evolved from chimps. And chimps have no race caste, colour, or difference; they are all one. With this understanding, there will not be anymore massacres on the basis of caste or race. The problem of human infighting will be solved. Unifying all the religions is a mirage. Religion will only bring disharmony in society. So the well-wishers of humanity should be keen to discard religion. As a dharmika, don’t try to unite the various religions.

Capitalists are diseased & Prout’s cure

Prout philosophy states, “The aspiration to become rich by exploiting others is always a kind of psychic ailment. Capitalists argue, “We amass wealth through our intellect and labour. Let others also amass wealth in the same way if they have the intellect or capacity to work. Who will stop them?” They do not want to accept that the number of consumable commodities in the world is limited, but all need their basic necessities. If one person is rolling in wealth this will generally mean that others will be deprived of even their minimum requirements. The failure to recognize the needs of others is itself a disease. But the victims of this ailment are also our brothers and sisters, members of the same human family. Either through human appeals or circumstantial pressure, these people must be cured of their psychic ailment. In order to do this we will have to channelize their obsession with material wealth in a mental and spiritual direction. At the same time as people’s physical hunger and thirst are being satisfied, everyone should be freely taught scientific processes to fulfil their psych[o-spiritual] longings.” (1)

Note: Here above Shrii Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar is pointing out the psychic defect of capitalists. They amass a huge amount of material wealth by exploiting others and justify their haul by inviting everyone else to do the same. Yet, the materials object of this world are finite. So their justification has no merit. It is not possible for each and every person to accumulate a huge amount of wealth, i.e. far more than they need. Ultimately these capitalists exploiters have to be cured of their mental disease. The solution is to divert the minds away from material wealth and towards the psycho and spiritual realms.

Workings of this cosmos + 4 more

Baba
Workings of this cosmos

Namaskar,

Parama Purusa has created this universe; it is His mental projection. So if Parama Purusa stops thinking about Mr. X then immediately and instantly Mr. X will cease to exist.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Ananda Marga ideology states, "Without His wish, not even a leaf of a tree, nor even a blade of grass can move." (1)

Analogy of demon

Now let’s take the example of a demon. Prakrti has provided the demon energy with the permission of Parama Purusa. And that demon has the free will to misuse or use that energy. Prakrti has made the system that if anyone misuses their energy they will get punished. So if the demon kills an innocent person, the demon will be punished. At the same time, Parama Purusa has also granted free will and created the system of reward and punishment.

So when we say that without His grace or desire a blade of grass cannot move, that is true in the macro sense. But that same Parama Purusa has granted unit beings the freedom to act. That is why when anyone does any harm to others, the doer of that harm undergoes punishment as well. So no one can blame that, “Parama Purusa is responsible, and He [Parama Purusa] is directly killing others with the demon’s hand.”
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Free will, reward, & punishment

The contrast of happy and horrifying and joy and sorrow is what makes films captivating. And that is keenly related with why Parama Purusa has designed the cosmos in this way?

Parama Purusa has granted free will and made this system of reward and punishment to open the door for human beings to one day become one with God - if they so choose. If He hadn’t created this system of free will and reward and punishment then everyone would get moksa as a matter of course, just as every created being makes it up to first human life automatically, without any effort. So if all got moksa automatically, this world would not be so colourful. To make this world interesting, Parama Purusa has granted free will and with it, the system of reward and punishment governed by prakrti. By this way, the entire universe runs.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

Think about it in this manner. Suppose you are the director of a movie. To make your film interesting, you will create a villain to provide an antithesis to the hero, otherwise your film will be monotonous and branded as a flop. It is the contrast between good and bad that makes films dynamic and captivating. And that is the aim of the movie director. That is also the reason why this universe has been created by Parama Purusa in this way: To make it interesting.

Conclusion

When anyone does any harm to others, the doer of harm undergoes punishment. So no one can blame that, “Parama Purusa is responsible for the sin committed by human beings.”

Namaskar,
In Him,
Nandita’

Prakrti is blind force: burns child’s hand

Ananda Marga ideology guides us, “You know, the Universe, Parama Puruśa, the Supreme Cognition, functions with the help of the Supreme Operative Principle [prakrti]. The Operative Principle [prakrti] is actually a blind force, it cannot do anything without the help of Consciousness, without the help of the Cognitive Faculty. Electricity is a crude blind force, but if helped or utilized by the human brain, the human consciousness, it will render so many services. But without the help of human brain, it may have its destructive role. So, these blind forces cannot do anything concrete without the help of consciousness. Similarly in this universe, in the universal sphere, there is the Cosmic Cognition, we say Parama Puruśa, the Cosmic Cognitive Faculty, and He functions, He does all His universal duties, all His parental duties, with the help of that blind force. But in units, where the individual consciousness, or individual cognition, is not in a position to control that blind force, that individual will be ejected away from the proper path. And such a thing happens.” (2)

Ananda Marga ideology guides us, “The instrumental cause of the metamorphosis of this universe is the three principles of Prakrti. Prakrti is an entity which is doing something, but it cannot be the material cause or the efficient cause because behind the actional faculty of Prakrti there is no scope for any moral principle. Shakti or energy itself is a blind force – if it is not supported by intellect or prajiṋá it is always crude and static. Suppose an electric hammer is being operated, and a child accidentally inserts its tender hand under the hammer. The hammer will automatically smash it – its blind force will not spare the innocent child’s hand. Hence the sádhaná of Prakrti divorced from the touch of Shiva (consciousness) is highly dangerous. The Cognitive Principle itself is both the material cause and the efficient cause of creation.” (3)

Why Parama Purusa is not the cause

Parama Purusa is the source of all the energy. So if one demon in human form is twisting an innocent person’s neck, the energy of the demon’s bad action is coming from Parama Purusa. Because the act of twisting demands energy. And all energy is supplied by Parama Purusa. If He does not supply energy for even one second, then that demon’s muscles will not function. And the demon will be unable to twist that person’s neck. So some may say that Parama Purusa is the cause.
https://anandamargauniversal.blogspot.com/

But to run this universe properly, Parama Purusa has created the system whereby prakrti maintains all the workings in this cosmos. For instance, prakrti (aka the cosmic operative principle) has created fire with the permission of Parama Purusa. Although ultimately, it is Parama Purusa who has created fire since He controls prakrti, it is  prakrti that manages everything. And prakrti has made fire in such a way that if anyone touches it they will get burned. Even if an innocent infant touches fire that baby will be burned. So Parama Purusa is not directly responsible for burning that child. Rather, on His own, Parama Purusa would not burn the child. Only because everything is governed by prakrti and prakrti is blind, that is why the child gets burned.

Transformed one & all

“Tumi, bhálobese chile, tái ki ele, phúler parág rág anurág mishiye dile...” (Prabhat Samgiita #3279)

Purport:

My Parama Purusa, You loved me. Is that why You came to me? You are so great. You interweave Your love and affection with flower fragrance. Today my entire being feels awakened and loved with Your sweet arrival.

Supreme Entity, before Your advent, human beings were in the dark. They were drowned in the depths of materialism, busy daylong in mundane acquisitions. They were in a closed room, riddled by a narrow, dogmatic mindset and could not think or conceive of anything beyond the periphery of matter. Such was the horrific condition of depraved humanity. In that dark hour, You blessed all. By opening the doors and showering humanity in a deluge of light of neo-humanism and spirituality, You have divinely intoxicated everyone's mind and transformed one and all.

Baba, my Parama Purusa, with the colourful flambeau of Your exquisite supreme love, human life started swinging. Everyone became charged by Your dharmic call. Holding aloft the flag of hope, You stood in front of all, mercifully led the way, and showed everyone the path of Supreme fulfillment.

Baba, You have blessed me so much...

Fixing the Indian constitution

Ananda Marga philosophy guides us, "There are several fiscal and psychological loopholes in the Indian constitution. The constitution of India proclaims that all are equal in the eye of the law. But in practice, this principle is not followed, and as a result disparity is growing in the arena of law and justice. Such disparity is adversely affecting the different groups of people in the country. For example, there are disparities between the Hindu Code and the Muslim Code. Hindu women and Muslim women, although they are all Indian citizens, do not get equal advantages of law. For instance, according to Hindu law, a man cannot have more than one wife, but a Muslim man is entitled to have more than one wife. A Hindu husband or a Hindu wife is required to approach the court to secure a divorce, while a Muslim man is entitled to divorce his wife without the permission or approval of the court. Moreover, a Muslim husband can divorce his wife but a Muslim wife cannot divorce her husband. Besides, a Muslim husband is not required to show [[any reason for the divorce]].”
“Disparity in the eye of the law is creating all these problems. The root of all these evils lies in the psychological loopholes of the Indian constitution. Why is the constitution allowing the Hindu Code and Muslim Code to stand side by side? Let there be only one code – the Indian Code. This Indian Code should be based on cardinal human values, with a universal approach and Neo-Humanistic spirit. Then only equality before the law can be established in practice, and equal protection of the law for all can be guaranteed. So the constitution should remove the psychological loopholes by eradicating existing disparities in the eye of the law.” (1)

Revolution: defeating a demon

Ananda Marga story states, “At first, the demon was quite unwilling to hold any discussion with them. At last, seeing them many in number, he said with reluctance, “Well, I have no objection to talk with some of your representatives.” In the course of discussion, the demon pretended that he did not deny that the demands of the humans were legitimate but where is the money? “In order to rebuild the state,” he said, “expenditure has to be curtailed; exports have to be increased and imports decreased, and it is necessary to accelerate the production of agricultural and industrial goods. If people today are busy with trifling demands, how then is it possible to rebuild the Very Odd Kingdom? So people should raise only one slogan today ‘Labour – more labour – and still more labour!’ Demands of housing, education, medical treatment – we have heard enough of your demands! Now I advise you, forget your demands for the right to higher wages, education, medical treatment, and better accommodation, for the time being – and go and labour hard!””

“The representatives of the human beings said “How wonderful! But then the question is, if you don’t accept our right to live how can we labour hard?””

“The discussion was interrupted. The demon and his associates now became active to create divisions among the youth. They said to the religious leaders, pundits, priests and mullas (religious leaders), “Do you see what is happening? Religion is becoming polluted, society is becoming polluted, everything is spoiled. After some time perhaps these loutish youth will say, ‘These pundits, priests and mullas, they are the parasites of the society; They suck the lifeblood of humanity by taking advantage of the weakness of their minds!’ So a big group of priests, pundits and mullas joined the demons. They declared, ‘What people are saying now is sheer injustice. People starve as a consequence of their own sins committed in their previous lives. So to fight for the establishment of their rights is to try to overmaster God!’”

“But there were some good people even among the priests and mullas and pundits, of course. They declared, “What the prince’s group, the human beings, are saying, is right. To support them is right”. Ministers and vice-ministers were giving them high posts in government service. Some were trapped in this way, too, but most of the people said, “We are going to be deceived by such temptation no longer – we have long been cheated for our foolishness, but no more!!””

“The Strange Demon noticed that each of his arrows was missing its target. Then he captured some good orators by spending much money. The work of these orators was to make the rank and file of human beings understand that the proper way to achieve their demand was to bear injustice silently and not resort to struggle. “By tolerating injustice,” they said, “When a person becomes non-violent, a kind of spiritual power awakens in him. And as a result of this spiritual power peace and equality prevail throughout the country. So you should rather engage yourself in the practice of self-purification than have recourse to struggle.” But the humans paid no heed to this either.”

“Now the demon became restless. He began to run to and fro like an insane person, tearing his hair and shouting violently. In no time his mask of gentleness was rent asunder. Then he started crying out loudly in his demonic tongue.”

“O devils, O demons,
Man-eaters, ghost-children,
Where are you my friends and comrades
Come and save me from the humans.
O black-marketeers and bribers,
O pot-bellied
Come, O come! Where are you??
I am going to be killed by Humanity.” (1)

Materialism & morality are mutually exclusive

Ananda Marga philosophy states, “The characteristic (dharma) of the mind is to seek the infinite. The mind attains this goal by concentrating on a particular ideation. As material objects are finite, those who accept them as the aim of life eventually feel frustrated. They fail to attain bliss because neither wealth nor material objects can be enjoyed infinitely. Moreover, those who make material objects their aim in life find their self-interests in conflict with those of other people. They try to deprive others, to protect their own endless greed for wealth and material objects. There will have to be a continuous pressure on the minds of these people to keep them away from material objects. People cannot tolerate such imposition and, on becoming disgruntled, take the path of revolution or counter-revolution against those who pressurize them.”

“Materialism functions by imposing social pressure on people to enjoy material objects; and accepts that as the only mode of operation. Thus, in materialistic countries or societies, people look at one another with suspicion and act according to the information given by the intelligence agencies. In the absence of spiritual ideas, firmness of morality cannot be established. The apparent morality in a materialistic society is nothing but an immoral alliance to protect self-interests.”

PC with Baba: no mahaprayan + 3 more

Baba
PC with Baba: no mahaprayan

Note: This letter is only for those who have reverence for Sadguru Baba Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji and try to follow His Ananda Marga ideology.

Namaskar,

I was with Baba in Delhi those days. Once He blessed me with the special opportunity to go in His room and personally see and serve Him. Then Baba started recounting many aspects of Lord Krsna’s advent - including the long story of how Lord Krsna withdrew His form as Mahasambhuti. By listening to this involved account, I was feeling pained and concerned.
https://anandamarganewsbulletin.blogspot.com/

Then Baba asked me, "Why are you feeling disturbed and upset? You know, one day I also have to withdraw my Mahasambhuti form. You people must not become unhappy."

Hearing this, I became very emotional. As Baba was speaking, I became so overwhelmed and disturbed. I was crying profusely.

Then Baba started smiling and gently reassured me. In a very sweet and loving manner, He calmly said, "Don't worry my boy. First, stop crying and I will tell you something."

When I stopped crying Baba began speaking, "All the rules of nature have been given by Parama Purusa. I too will have to withdraw my form as Mahasambuti, yet I shall eternally remain as Taraka Brahma. The day will come when I have finished the work I have decided to do. When Lord Krsna wanted to make the Great India, the Mahabharata, He used the Pandavas as His medium. And when His work was finished, with His own desire, He withdrew His body of painca bhutas. You all are my mini-Babas. When you become capable of executing My samkalpa, then I will automatically understand that you can fulfill My work. In that case, what will be the use of My body of five tattvas? When the work is finished then I will withdraw My Mahasambhuti form, yet I will remain always with you as Taraka Brahma and help you."
https://anandamarganewsbulletin.blogspot.com/

Before leaving the room, I asked some questions.

No annual death ceremony for Mahasambhuti

I (Parasattananda) asked Baba, "Why is it that people do not observe the annual death ceremony of Lord Krsna, yet people observe the birth ceremony of Lord Krsna?”

When I asked Baba this question He replied in a loud voice and lovingly scolded me, "Does Parama Purusa ever die? He is that eternal Entity who never dies."

When I saw the expression on His face I started trembling and sweating. I felt very repentant for asking such a stupid question.

Baba said, "Parama Purusa is one and He comes from time to time as Mahasambhuti. The first time on this earth He came as Lord Shiva and the second time He came as Lord Krsna. They came for doing some great work and when Their plan was fulfilled They withdrew their form of Mahasambhuti and remained eternally present in Their original seity of nitya bhava. To establish dharma, They came and when dharma was established, They withdrew their quinquelemental body. I too have come on this earth to establish dharma and when I am satisfied then I will withdraw and remain eternally as Taraka Brahma. Remember, I will remain always with you and help you.”
https://anandamarganewsbulletin.blogspot.com/

"As I just told you, Lord Krsna did this exact same thing. With His desire, He withdrew His Mahasambhuti form when His work was finished. Because He is Parama Purusa and eternally present all the time as Taraka Brahma, He is Omnipresent. So there is no question of observing the day Lord Shiva and Lord Krsna withdrew Their forms as Mahasambhuti. And always, the Divine Entity remains in His eternal stance."

Conclusion

In the last, with a strong voice Baba asked me, "When I (Baba) withdraw my form as Mahasambhuti will you people try to observe that day?"

Listening to Baba’s commanding voice I was scared and replied slowly, "No, Baba." After that Baba was very gentle, and He told me, "It is getting late - go and take rest."

I did sastaunga pranam and quickly left His room. Immediately I started pondering Baba’s unhappiness in His response to my question. The idea was coming in my mind again and again how Baba expressed His displeasure. Because of that, still I remember the whole episode and know that His so-called mahaprayan must not be observed. That is why in my personal life I have never participated in that programme. How can I participate and disobey His command and make Him unhappy. Since long I have been telling this story to all who I see on different occasions. That is why since the beginning I have strongly opposed this so-called mahaprayan gathering.

About above story

This story is translated from Dada Parasattananda ji's book 'Manavrata ka Sunahala Bhavishya', which means "The Golden Future of Humanity". Dada Parasattananda is posted in India most of the time. These days postings and transfers are so common in our AMPS but as far as my awareness in the recent past Dadaji was posted in Bihar. He has been a WT since 1967.

When Parama Purusa comes

Baba said, "I only took this quinquelemental form to practically teach and establish dharma. If Parama Purusa so desires He can do anything and everything. But when He has created this physical world, He also made the rules to control this physical world. So He has to follow His own rules.
https://anandamarganewsbulletin.blogspot.com/

He is also obeying those rules when He comes. If Lord Krsna had so desired, dharma would have been established even without the complete destruction of the Kaoravas; but, it would not have been an effective or inspiring display. Actually, Lord Krsna wanted to teach people that they should come forward to save dharma. That is the lesson He put forth."

After Baba concluded His talk, I was weeping and I pleaded, "Baba, please do not say such painful things.. If You so desire, You may withdraw Your form as Mahasambhuti, but promise me that You must not leave me."

Listening to my plea, Baba assured me, "Just know this. I was with you, I am with you, and I will ever remain with you. You people are to be the medium of My ideology; the world will know Me by your actions."

Here I am quoting some Baba's direct lines which are highly significant.
https://anandamarganewsbulletin.blogspot.com/

Baba says, "Shive ruśt́e gurustrátá guraoruśt́e nákashcana.”

The meaning of the whole sloka is that when Guru is unhappy then nobody in this universe can save the person. That is why it is also said, Mantramúlaḿ Gururvákyam” 'Guru's words are mantra..."

One Parama Purusa & various names

In the above story, Lord Shiva and Lord Krsna were mentioned. Yet, Parama Purusa is one. On this earth - Parama Purusa has taken advent three times: 1) Lord Shiva, 2) Lord Krsna, and 3) Lord Shrii Shrii Anandamurti ji. So one singular Parama Purusa came on this earth on three separate occasions - each time using a different name and form. Yet, an aspirant should have only one Ista.

Warning: The below is very sensitive information only for senior margiis and Wts, i.e. those who know all the ins and outs of AMPS.

Mastermind of mahaprayan dogma

Sarvatmananda is the mastermind of the mahaprayan dogma, yet now look at his “fate”. All know well that before starting mahaprayan he was a kind of nucleus in Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha. Dada Sarvatmananda held tremendous respect by all in the organisation. Yet because he disobeyed Sadguru Baba and implemented the mahaprayan dogma, look at his situation now. With his vanity he destroyed himself; he pulverised himself to dust. Due to the murder charge, he cannot leave India. Dadaji’s own supporters have stripped him of all his power. Those followers of Sarvatmananda, i.e. demons like Rudrananda and Rabiishananda attacked him and knocked him down. It is a pitiful state. By seeing Dada Sarvatmananda’s pathetic condition, even stone-hearted people have tears in their eyes.

Lesson learned

a) Nobody should observe mahaprayan and face the wrath of prakrti.
b) Do more sadhana to feel that Sadguru is ever-present.

All should take this lesson and not observe so-called mahaprayan.

Early days of medicine

Ananda Marga philosophy states, "Where medicines were not effective as external ointments, it became necessary to rub them on the skin or on the nerves where they could be absorbed through the pores. People discovered these rubbing medicines somewhat later. These massage or rubbing ointments were the discovery of a later stage."

"Where there was any poisonous effect of the rubbing ointment, there was no recourse but to use it externally. However, people learned to use them without any poisonous effect in the form of liquid medicines by dissolving them in water or other liquid solvents."

"There are certain ointments which, if ingested in small doses, have no poisonous effect, but which may have a poisonous effect if taken in large doses. Human beings learned to use them by licking them so that they could act effectively through the nerve fibres. They used to swallow those medicines after licking them with the tongue for a long time. Because the quantity is very small there is no harmful effect; rather one gets the full benefit. Such medicines are called avaleha [licking] in Ayurveda."

"People even discovered some medicines that develop certain special beneficial qualities when mixed with other specific substances. In other words, the same medicine when mixed with substance “a” became a medicine for headaches, when mixed with substance “b” became a medicine for diarrhea, and when mixed with substance “c” became a medicine for respiratory ailments. In this case, people gave the name anupána [ingredient] to the substances “a,” “b” and “c”. That is, by discovering that the medicinal qualities varied according to the different anupánas, people began to use them as medicines." (1)

Re: Sin of Dada Santoshananda

Namaskar,

This is a very good point you raised. Fasting should not be done for more than one day. Here in India we see that for social issues, Proutists follow and propagate the Gandhian way of protest fasting. And  they encourage others also. And if anyone raised the point then then tell that Baba fasted in jail. They themselves are not in jail but they give the example of Baba in jail. Their comparison is like apples and oranges. But this posting may open their eyes. Because Baba is giving the clear directive that one should not fast for more than one day. And fasting should be done for health purposes only. Keep up the good work.

in Him,
Subha'dra' Jain

Namaskar,

Recently, Dada Santoshananda completed a 3-day dry fast to protest local injustices. By going against Baba, Dada Santoshananda has committed sin.
One should not fast for more than one day at a time

Ananda Marga ideology says, “Nor should you undergo fasting for a long period of time. I have prescribed that our monks should undergo fasting four days per month, two Ekádashiis, one Amávasyá, and one Púrńima’.” (1)
According to Ananda Marga, one should not fast for more than one day at a time.
Please see the sign / banner behind the crowd that where it is written that to press his local political demands, Dada Santoshananda is performing fast without water from 12 to 14 Sept. So you see that the poster which Dada Santoshananda made is against Ananda Marga principles. In the above quote Baba says something completely different: One should not fast for more than one day at a time. By not following the order of Baba Dada  Santoshananda has committed sin.
